I love this shoot for many reasons - I feel like I took a turn with this shoot and started hitting my stride. Not only was Candace easy to work with, but she made it fun and was a great sport about me fussing over the minute details to get the perfect shot. go west young man, and let the evil go east

day two of our colorado vacation started at blue sky cafe for brunch with my oldest friend and her mom, my second mom growing up. it was a very popular breakfast spot, serving fresh juices and delicious food. highly recommended. julia was visiting colorado from france, where she lives and works most of the year. we spent a couple of hours brunching, chatted about how in france, meal times are supposed to take all evening, and it is frowned upon if they are rushed. what a difference it is here in america. after we ate, they were heading to rocky mountain national park so they dropped me off at the hotel where we planned the rest of our day.

day two was the most relaxing day we had. we spent some time lounging in the hotel, before driving to denver for an afternoon outing. finding parking was a bit of a nightmare, which is the case in most cities. we parked about a 20 minute walk from the Capitol building, something that was on my to-do list. denver's is gold-plated on top, to commemorate the colorado gold rush. fun facts.

we then walked through the 16th street mall, a very popular area where there were outdoor shops, souvenir stores, entertainers, restaurants etc. it reminded me slightly of Indianapolis, and slightly of Austin. we left downtown as we were getting hungry, and drove back toward lakewood for some bbq. that night, in the spirit of taking it easy, we went and saw guardians of the galaxy.
