Hi! Im new to reading comics and all, just started reading Batmans comics but i wanna read their relationship from the start to this day, comic by comic but I couldn’t find that kinda reading order on online. Do you have a list that i can read only their relationship developments? If u answer that would be great thanks already 😊

Im new to comics in general, so sorry for this, but how do you know from which universe the characters are? -M

No need to apologize! Comics can be really tricky to get into at first, and the fact that Marvel’s multiversal, as much as I love that aspect from a creativity standpoint, does not help with the initial confusion. So I can give you a short answer, I can give you some pointers, but the fact is that the more you read, the more familiar you’ll become, and the multiversal aspect will get a lot easier with time. You’ll start to recognize what artists did which runs in what universe, spot the differences between costumes, etc. 

First things first, with Marvel, versions of most major characters exist in multiple universes. So there’s a main continuity (616) Peter Parker, then an Ultimate Peter Parker, a Marvel Noir Peter Parker, etc. This should be but isn’t always simple -- for example, there’s both a 616 Miles Morales and an Ultimate Miles Morales, but the Miles currently residing in 616 is the Miles who originally came from the Ultimate universe, and vice versa. So with a few exceptions, you don’t really need to worry too much about mixing up your characters from different universes, although those characters can be radically different (or not) from continuity to continuity, because unless they’re a minor character the odds are pretty good they exist in multiple universes. But typically, if you’re looking at a comic, there’s a good chance they’re from the main continuity, especially if that comic is older. 616 dates back decades and decades, while the biggest alternate comic universe continuity, Ultimate Marvel, only dates back to 2000. There’s also a lettering convention that makes it pretty easy to tell the difference between 616 and Ultimate at a glance:

This is from Amazing Spider-Man #509, which is in the 616 universe. Note the letters in the word bubbles are all uppercase; this is usually how 616 lettering is formatted. 

This is from Ultimate Comics Spider-Man v2 #3 (and another way to tell different universes apart -- the major ones will usually have the universe name in the title, ala Ultimate Spider-Man or Marvel Adventures: Avengers) -- the only totally uppercase words are for emphasis. Behold, lowercase letters! So that’s a pretty quick way to tell at a glance. The lettering trick isn’t always fool proof:

Amazing Spider-Man v2 #55! Using lowercase letters! Even though it’s in 616 continuity! Comics just lie in wait, ready to pull the rug out from under you. But in general, the lettering rule is handy.

But really, when it comes to looking up what universe what character is doing what in at a glance, google and the Marvel wiki are going to be your best friend. If you google a comic title, you can pull up its page on the Marvel wiki, which will tell you what universe it’s in. Alternatively, you can google (Universe) + (Character) -- so, for example, “Marvel Adventures Johnny Storm” and pull up their profile on the wiki, with a list of appearances attached. Sometimes it takes a little detective work, but it’s usually not as daunting as it seems.

Having typed all of this up, I’m not actually sure I didn’t just make things more confusing, but I hoped it helped a little bit! Let me know if I can be of any other assistance.
