I want to read dicworld but it's so overwhelming. There are so many? Where do I start? Someone throw a Pratchett novel at my head that I should start with?

And we got some more pictures last weekend.

I love the middle one especially, but I think I didn't enjoy this session as much as I usually do, simply becasue I am itching to upgrade my witcher gear.

I may not play the witcher on any larp for the time being, but no one can stop me from making this gear into exactly what I want it to be.

And I really wish to get some pictures in the actual saddle at some point ;) So I can put that 15 years of horse riding expirience somewhere.

The Dicworld stickers have arrived! Me and @szkarady are madly in love with them. (Also, my dad didn't know I was expecting a letter from the US and when it came he texted me "you got the letter from the CIA" with a picture of the envelope)

Ah I don’t know how I feel about Vetinari being recast as a woman in the Watch. 

Like, normally I don’t particularly care, I had no issue with a female doctor or a female Bosley. I wouldn’t even be that fussed by any of the other characters being gender swapped, and they’ve done the same thing for Dr Cruces which seems interesting. I just feel like part of the Vetinari character is that, on the surface, he looks like your typical rich, white male character and that’s part of his power. He is aware of that and uses it. I mean his official title is the ‘Tyrant’ of Ank Morpork. Other rich, white, male characters come along expecting him to have the same prejudices only for him to turn around and completely obliterate them.  

Plus I’m a little worried about how it might affect his/her interactions with other characters. There are characters that are fundamentally sexist. Less so in the night watch, but definitely with the wizards who barely admit that women exist. It is something that Pratchett challenges within the narrative but it does exist. I dunno, I just don’t know if a female Vetinari, particularly one apparently combining the characteristics of “Dracula and Elvis”.

As always, it was fun, and interesting and really smart. And I'm liking Rincewind more and more now.

My favorite bit was the librarian cutting out pages from battered and burned books and calling it an "appendectomy".

Reading this chronologically, you can see worldbuilding threads being passed along. The eighth son aspect is introduced in Equal Rites along with the dungeon dimension and they are both used here. neat.

Regarding your latest post on Dicworld and musicals: I cannot say which option would be funniest, but what I can say is that according to Reaper Man and Soul Music, my guy Death can both dance and shred. Meaning his evaluation of Susan's singing abilities are most likely quite sound. (Speaking of, in this scenario, if Susan had a coin for each time musical magic shenanigans happened she'd have two coins which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.)
