hey y'all weird question time again
In the US, with insurance, what's a ballpark range for how much you'd expect to pay out of pocket for an MRI?
also hi crafting updates should resume in the next few days I was panicking a little about getting an MRI and that prevented crafting, and then I ended up not even getting it so all the panic was for nothing

the most frustrating thing about neurodivergence is that i work really hard to combat it, right? i set up systems and i set myself up for success by being proactive and taking the human element (me) out of it as much as possible. i do meal planning for the month and grocery pickups and scheduled laundry days and autopay to make my life function. not even easier, just functioning! but it's other systems that fuck me up.
my health insurance updated their autopay website to be "better" (it does the same damn things) and now my payment is late because they messed up moving accounts over so now i have to drop what i'm doing to sign up for my third account with them and set up my autopay again and i just. i don't have the energy for this. it's such a small thing but it's always the small things that tip me over. and this not getting done has real consequences for me but them messing with my systems over and over and making me jump through hoops has no consequences for them.

I have never in my life had to pay to see my doctor, a visit to the GP has never cost me a cent, I have always been able to get a Drs note for work, or catch an illness before it got too bad, I've always just been able to go in whenever I needed to without having to worry about being able to afford it
until now
now for the first time in my 28 years of life GP offices are starting to charge people for appointments
what a fucking phenomenal step backwards we have taken in our healthcare system
now I'll have to pay money not only to get my medication, but to even have my script renewed
we were supposed to be moving forward with healthcare, we were supposed to be making advancements, not sliding back down into the fucking capitalism ditch
I was hoping one day I wouldn't have to spend so much money on physiotherapy just to live without pain, I was hoping the healthcare system would fix it's holes in support for ongoing care for chronic conditions
and INSTEAD I am now being told that soon I will have to PAY just to go see my doctor, I got FIVE free physio appointments per year, FIVE, which is a JOKE, and now I have to PAY to have access to those, WHY AM I PAYING MORE MONEY
how can we be going backwards, how???
