So last January i started keeping a notes page for recording tags that made me laugh or smile. I was reading through them and realized it been over a year since i started. So i decided to post them to make you all smile too. The fandoms are in no specific order, but i did post my favorite tags at the top of each section. I used the ";" as a break between tags. Ao3 uses "," but several tags included their own "," and "#" made things harder to read so i swapped it out for ";"
These tags are 95% from ao3 fics (many of them from the same fics). The other 5% consist of tumblr tags, fic titles, and the occasional author note/funny fic quote that i loved so much i wrote it down. I dont remember what each fic each tag was from*, so please dont ask for links, but as they're tags you should be able to search them in the ao3 search engine. However if you want specification to which character a tag was referring to, i do remember that.
*im 99% certain these tags were for that fandom
Not fandom specific/i cant remember which fandom
I will take these crumbs of characterization and bake them into a cake myself so help me god
i don't make the facts people i just gently unearth them from the subtext

Things I’m Loving Friday #269
Hey friends! How are you doing today? It was a pretty cold and wet week in Charlotte and it’s looking like the rain will continue through this weekend. While we’re predicted to get some decent rain in our area, it looks like that will be nothing compared to the winter storm set to impact many of you in the midwest and New England. I hope you guys all stay safe and warm out there!
As for our weekend plans, we’ll be kicking off the weekend with our friends and their little ones over a casual dinner out tonight but other than that, our plans are wiiiide open. I’ll be sure to recap the fun on the blog next week but until then, let’s dive into your usual Things I’m Loving Friday roundup of favs, shall we?
Please feel free to join in and tell me about something that is making you smile this week in the comments section. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!
Things I’m Loving Friday
Ryder is 8 Months Old!
On Monday Ryder officially turned 8 months old! This past month marked a lot of changes for our sweet little guy as he went from one tooth to SIX teeth in two weeks. Ooph! (Let’s just say nursing was a bit of a struggle this past month because Ryder seemed to want to chew on anything and everything, including me.) We also officially dropped the Merlin Magic Sleepsuit which I was dreading because my first attempt was a disaster. Thankfully attempt #2 went much better and I attribute it to the Nested Bean Zen Sleepsack. It has a lightly weighted area on the chest of the sleepsack that’s supposed to mimic the sensation of your palm on your baby’s chest. It can also be worn with the small beaded weight on the baby’s back for little ones who flip over and prefer to sleep on their bellies.
Speaking of sleep, now that Ryder is 8 months old, we seem to be falling into a bit of a rhythm with naps — at least in the morning — which is a relief. Ryder is still a pretty go-with-the-flow baby but I’ve been trying to be home for him to have at least one solid nap in his crib every day and his morning nap is without a doubt his best nap.
Ryder also now wants to get into anything and everything and pretty much the only time we see our happy little guy get mad is if we take something he wants away from him or he has his eye on something he wants to hold and can’t seem to get to it himself. (Or when we load him into his car seat. The struggle is real.) Ryder absolutely LOVES watching Chase and he smiles up a storm at pretty much anyone who engages with him. He still has yet to meet a stranger! Some of Ryder’s current playtime favorites: VTech Drop & Go Dump Truck (He LOVES this thing!), Fisher-Price Stacking Rings, Sassy Wonder Wheel (the best highchair toy!), Baby Einstein Activity Jumper (my go-to “put Ryder down” station — aka the way I get to make myself a cup of coffee every morning!), VTech Sit-to-Stand Activity Walker
As far as eating is concerned, I am SO ridiculously happy to report that Ryder seems to be a good eater so far and it is such a relief. I feel the need to share that we haven’t done anything different with Ryder than we did with Chase so if you have a baby or a child who could not care less about food, I FEEL YA and I feel the stress that comes along with that struggle big time. I just feel like I need to say this a billion times over because it’s so easy to feel like we’re to blame for the way our children respond to food but if my experience with Ryder has taught me anything, it’s that babies are all SO different and some kids are just naturally more interested in eating.
Getting Chase to eat anything always felt like the biggest struggle so watching Ryder go to town on steamed broccoli or suck down a pouch of pureed fruits and veggies in a hot second is still blowing my mind. I’ve noticed Ryder’s interest in food seems to rub off a bit on Chase as well which is another big perk!
There’s something about the 8-month mark in a baby’s life that I just adore. They’re still a roly poly bundle of babyness but they’re also able to really begin to interact a lot more and the baby giggles and smiles are just too darn cute too handle. Ryder is definitely a physical little dude and loves kicking, backwards inch-worming (no forward crawling yet) and splashing up a storm in the bathtub. He is such a source of joy in our lives!
Ryder + Granddad Resemblance
On the topic of Ryder, a few of you guys and a few Instagram followers have commented on Ryder’s resemblance to Ryan’s dad and we’re seeing it more and more these days! I mean just look at the two of them in the above picture! I snapped that pic before Greg headed back to Florida on Tuesday and think it perfectly captures their similarities. It’s just so fun to see our boys and how they share features with different family members!
In the beginning we heard Chase looked a lot like me and lately we’ve been hearing people say he looks more and more like Ryan. On the other hand, people said Ryder was all Ryan in the beginning and now slooowly but surely some people are saying they see me in him. One thing is for sure… Chase and Ryder look like each other and I need to do a side-by-side picture comparison of the boys at similar ages because the resemblance it crazy to me!
Tazo Organic Baked Cinnamon Apple Tea
Ever since I began regularly making whole milk/coconut milk tea lattes almost every day, I’ve loved trying new kinds of tea and tend to gravitate toward the comforting flavors of cinnamon and roobios when I’m not in the mood for a little boost from matcha. My latest tea love is Tazo’s Organic Baked Cinnamon Apple Tea and it is just the perfect cozy combination of warm apple pie flavor, roobios and a little punch of cinnamon. I top my lattes with a sprinkle of ceylon cinnamon and love every last sip.
Tiny Little Thing by Beatriz Williams
When I mentioned how much I enjoyed The Secret Life of Violet Grant, two of you asked me if I planned to read the other two books in the Schuyler Sisters series and encouraged me to check out book #2, Tiny Little Thing, next. I don’t know what it is about a series but I am almost averse to beginning books I know are part of a series because I like to jump around and read different genres. For whatever reason, beginning a series when I know all of the books in that series are already published makes me feel like I need to commit to reading the series the whole way through before branching out again. Crazy, I know, especially since I love reading books by the same authors back-to-back. I put my natural aversion to series aside for Tiny Little Thing and I’m glad I did because it roped me in immediately and has all of the intrigue I enjoyed from The Secret Life of Violet Grant. I’m almost done with this one and cannot wait to finish it this weekend.
Tiny Little Thing follows the eldest Schuyler sister, Tiny, as she and her husband, Frank, live a perfectly poised and seemingly perfect life together. Behind the facade of perfection lies secrets that could destroy Frank’s political ambitions as well as their marriage. When Frank’s cousin Caspian, a handsome Vietnam war hero with intimate knowledge of Tiny’s past, shows up at the family’s summer home in Cape Cod, only days after Tiny receives an envelope containing photographs that could destroy her, Tiny begins to worry she’s on the brink of losing everything.

[1560] BUT THOU BETHLEHEM, THOUGH THOU BE LITTLE AMONG THE THOUSANDS OF JUDAH-  YET OUT OF THEE SHALL HE COME FORTH UNTO ME THAT IS TO BE RULER IN ISRAEL. Micah 5:2.  In the gospel of Luke we read the story of Jesus being born in a real place- at a real time. Chapter 2 says that Caesar put out a decree that ‘all the world should be taxed’ that is they did a kind of census where you had to go to your native town and register. It just so happned that Mary, Jesus mother, was living in Nazareth [Galilee] at the time and Joseph- Jesus’ step dad- was from the lineage of Judah [King David’s tribe]. So at this very inconvenient time- at the hour of child birth- they make the trek to Bethlehem of Judea- just in time for the census- and for the baby! Hundreds of years before this event there was this obscure Jewish prophet named Micah- he blurted out one day ‘out of you Bethlehem- the least of all places- shall one come forth- a great ruler of all men’ [my paraphrase]. The Jewish nation was waiting for centuries for this ‘sent one’ this messiah who would come to them in the midst of their oppression- and he would fulfill the promise that God made to father Abraham millennia before ‘we will serve him without fear and in holiness all the days of our lives’. As a matter of fact- jump back to Luke chapter 1 and you can read this promise being uttered from the lips of John the Baptist’s father when he praises God over the pregnancy of his wife Elisabeth- you see John the Baptist was also spoken about centuries before his birth- he would come on the scene as a forerunner- a precursor to the messiah. Yes, John’s father had reason to rejoice. And when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary- he told how that she was chosen for this great task- possibly the greatest task that any human was ever given- she would give birth to this promised messiah. She asks the angel ‘how can this be- I know not a man’ he tells her the Holy Spirit will come upon her and she will conceive a child from God- none before could claim the title ‘the only begotten of God’. Read Mary’s prayer in chapter 1- it too is a cry for social justice ‘the high and mighty will be brought low- the poor will be lifted up’ we call her prayer ‘The Magnificat’. Both Zacharias and Mary spoke/prophesied of social justice- that thru these seemingly strange miracles- God put in place a plan that would bring justice to all those who were being oppressed. So the day came for Mary to bear the child- but he was prophesied to be born in Bethlehem- so God preordained that the great Caesar Augustus would make a decree that ‘all the world would be taxed’. Caesar came from the beginning line of Rome’s great Caesars. Octavian- Rome’s first- would be a devastating military leader who would strike fear into the hearts of Rome’s enemies- the kingdom [Roman Empire] would take her initial form under his rule. Of course most of us our familiar with Julius Caesar- he’s made it into the Hollywood hall of fame- and Augustus- he would be the third in a line of 12 Caesars who would rule Rome. He ruled at a time when Rome was the center of the world- all roads truly did lead to Rome- the great eternal city. Rome had her religious adherents- Rome practiced a type of pluralism- when they conquered an enemy- they would allow the people to continue to have some form of self rule- believe in whatever religion suits you- but you were still under Roman rule. The Pantheon [a sort of pedestal for the various god’s of the day] represented this religious openness of Rome. Yet the Jews had a different type of belief- they held to what we describe as Monotheism- a belief that there was only one true God. Her prophets spoke the words ‘hear O Israel the Lord our God is one’ and they held to their peculiar belief while Rome overlooked it. In the midst of all these developments, Caesar makes the decree ‘everyone go back to your towns for the census’ and Mary and Joseph hit the road. Sure enough the time came for her to deliver the child- he was born in a stable- laid in a manger and the world would receive her king. 2 Thousand years have passed- where are the great Caesars? Have you ever even heard of the name Octavian before today? Yet all over the world- in every nation- on the  radio- over the internet- being shouted from the speakers at the mall- yes, all over the world we sing that Jesus Christ is king- the one born in Bethlehem of Judea- the one for whom the whole world was a stage- even the mighty Caesars of the day bowed the knee unto this eternal purpose of God- they would be puppets in the hand of God- used of God to make decrees that would fulfill the obscure prophecy of some Jewish prophet named Micah-  yes- the Virgin had it right ‘God brought down the mighty- used them for his purposes- and exalted those who were struggling’. Rejoice- for in this day- 2 thousand years ago- was born a great ruler- a ruler of all men- his hometown is now famous because of this birth.

Francis [the name he took- from Francis of Assisi- also speaks about his character. St. Francis forsook family wealth to work in Gods field- he believed God called him to help restore the church to her original design].
So- Pope Francis lived the same type of calling.
He’s the first Pope from America [albeit Latin America].
He’s the first from the Jesuit order to hold the office- the Jesuits are my favorite Catholic order.
If you remember my church history section- I covered the Jesuits- and complimented them a lot.
The Jesuits are the intellectuals of the church- now- the Catholic Church as a whole is of course very intellectual.
But the Jesuits were very influential in the development of the scientific method.
As a percentage- there were more Jesuit leaders in science than any other group.
  They also were missionary minded.
When I covered them in the past I showed how after the 16th century Protestant Reformation the Jesuits did a sort of Counter Reformation and evangelized Asia- an area where the Protestants fell short.
So- as you can see- I’m a fan of the Jesuits.
Francis- from Buenos Aires Argentina- lived among the poor- he cooked his own meals and rejected the perks that Cardinals/Arch Bishops get.
Yet- he was a ‘conservative’ in doctrine.
 Huh?
How could he be a sort of Liberation theologian- and yet hold to conservative views?
Here’s where our modern news shows mess stuff up.
As an avid news watcher- the last few years one of the critiques I gave was the mistake of men like Glenn beck and others- who associated Liberation Theology with heresy.
Now- Beck and others meant well- they just made the mistake of demonizing people they don’t understand [remember the rampage against Van Jones?]
But that’s why we need to get our info from better informed folk.
Anyway- Liberation Theology is a form of Christian teaching that associates the ministry of Jesus to the poor- and seeks to implement that- sometimes too far- with government programs.
So- in Latin America- you have had Catholic champions of the poor and down trodden- who advocated for the poor- and at the same time believed in the historic positions of the doctrines of the church.
For instance- some ‘liberal’ scholars reject the resurrection of Jesus- and other key teachings of the church.
These men [both Catholic and Protestant] are referred to as Liberal scholars.
Francis is not one of them- he’s ‘conservative’ when it comes to the historic faith.
Yet- in his actions [Orthopraxy] he is ‘liberal’ [that is if you think identifying with the poor is liberal].
So- Francis is a lot like me in my belief [I too am conservative in doctrine] and practice- I have lived with the poor and down and out for years.
So- he just might be my favorite.
  Let’s wait and see.

(1357) I WILL UNCOVER THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN HIDDEN SINCE THE WORLDS FIRST DAY- [Jesus]. Yesterday I read an article in the paper that talked about an amazing dinosaur find in China; they found around 15 thousand fossils in a cave area. The amazing thing was the fact that so many dinosaurs would have been in one place right when they died. I immediately saw this as proof that would back up the creationist cataclysmic view of a worldwide flood destroying all life on the planet. As I read thru the article they explained how much of ‘fossil science’ has been done thru finds in the U.S., but over the last few years China [and the eastern world in general] have undergone their own industrial revolution and this has led to the unearthing of new ground for the purpose of construction and these new projects are unearthing these fossils. Much like what took place in the 19th century when many archaeologists were discovering ‘hidden things’ that seemed to be buried ‘since the foundation of the world’. In the 19th century it was popular for the intellectuals in theology to embrace the ‘historical/critical’ method of bible learning. Many began to reject the early dating of the New Testament [early- a.d. 50-70] and began accepting a theory that said much of the New Testament was written in the 2nd century. These ideas were promoted by men like Rudolph Bultman and were made popular at the German university which he taught at [in Marburg]. So it became ‘intellectually fashionable’ to accept this new way of critiquing scripture. One problem- as the industrial revolution took off in the west archaeology rose as a new science and we now had the ability to historically search for clues. A famous historian by the name of Sir Ramsey went on this exhibition to see whether or not the bible was accurate when it spoke about ‘so called’ first century things. Our bibles do have lots of names of political characters and certain historical events that can be measured for accuracy. Ramsey found to his dismay that all the evidence leaned towards the ‘less enlightened’ view of an early dating of the New Testament. This was a tough pill to swallow by the intellectuals who had already formed their opinions on the subject, but in due time most trustworthy scholars would come to accept [for the most part] the earlier dating. So now back to the dinosaurs, as the article went on they admitted that it’s possible that a Tsunami might have caused the dinosaurs to gather in one place before their deaths- A FLOOD! It’s funny because some in the modern scientific community have argued, very convincingly, that the Geologic table and the extinction of the dinosaurs can be attributed to a world wide flood. Others have vehemently opposed this idea [most evolutionists]. And now the new evidence seems to be backing up a flood theory, they simply don’t want to admit it. Like the intellectuals of Sir Ramsey’s day, the smart thing to do is to go where the evidence leads. The facts don’t lie; these are ‘facts’ that are being now uncovered, things hidden ‘since the world’s first day’.

19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
