There’s an elementary school around the corner from my house and I pass by it every day. It has one of those signs out by the road that has various changing messages like “School year begins August 25th” Or “Halloween trunk or treat Tuesday night” or whatever. Pretty average stuff.

Today I drove by and it said “Welcome author [name]!”

I don’t know why but I thought this was extremely cute??? I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen them announce they’re having a guest on the sign.

I just want there to be a sign outside the elementary school Hikari works at saying “Welcome author Takaishi Takeru!” 🥺

Headcanons under the cut (along with another doodle)

Full disclosure I've only played the Harmony route of Survive so my opinions will probably change in the future to become more accurate if anything's off.

Older Kaito tries really really hard to not get into fights and control his anger. He still has episodes but he knows every calming strategy under the sun and with Dracmon by his side, he's able to envision himself in a happier place and relax.

He runs daily early in the morning to not only stay active but get rid of excess energy if he's stressed. You can bet he's listening to hardcore metal most of the time during his jogs to really go all out. Sometimes Minoru joins him on a weekend and they take a slower pace together and vent out frustrations about family.

Despite the times they've butt heads, Ryo and Kaito hang out a lot one on one after Survive. They often are silent most of the time, but enjoy each other's presence. Aoi joins them every now and then to eat together or watch a movie.

Kaito has many videos downloaded on his phone of relaxing music to listen to while working. Even if he isn't the biggest fan of technology, he loves music and it helps improve his mood a lot. He has an MP3 player to use on his runs and Miu helps him download youtube videos of relaxing music to fall asleep to.

Kaito wears a locket with two photos: one of the gang together after a party and the other of him, Miu, and Dracmon. Whenever a major panic attack is building, he holds it close and looks at the photos to try to calm himself down.

While he's still on the antisocial side, Kaito has gotten better at being friendly and more trusting towards new people. Yes, the survive crew matters the most to him, but he tags along with his friends to certain school events to be more open.

Kaito loves to jokingly wrestle with friends. He and Takuma fight sometimes while hanging out and Aoi will indulge and arm wrestle every now and then. If Minoru and Kaito fight while playing sports together, they often chase each other around while Dracmon and Falcomon watch in amusement. Also, Miu loves to go on his shoulders and back. Not only to feel more tall but to make fun of Kaito if he shows any sign of struggle or weakness supporting the growing Miu. She does appreciate him trying for her but doesn't admit it

After survive, Kaito tried to let Miu handle her issues by herself more. He recognized that his violent habits often made things worse with her social life, so he agreed to back off. He only broke this promise once when he stumbled upon a couple of boys a year under him made fun of Miu and attempted to get physical with her. He ended up telling Takuma and they both scared the bullies off with as little violence as possible. Miu did get upset at Kaito, but forgave him after they sat down and talked about the situation.

Also like... is that thing on her shoulder sentient or -

LadyDevimon Headcanons

Yes. That being on her shoulder has a sentience of its own! It doesn't talk, but it does have its own little feelings and does its own little actions. It can even eat! Although, when grabbed should someone does so - it actually feels more like what comprises LadyDevimon's outfit.

LadyDevimon tends to be quite playful when it comes to having a Tamer. She likes to tease them more than anything, in any way that she can make her Tamer flustered. It just amuses her. It amuses her MORE when her Tamer actually teases her back! Just know her teasing is much more fun-loving than from a place of malice.

Otherwise, when not with one, LadyDevimon won't hold back and knows just what to say to make someone tick. She loves making people angered in such ways, loving watching them get so angry and flustered by her words. Her words can strike to the core, and she loves the reactions she gets!

Is a menace when it comes to sweets, actually. If there's a sweet treat laying around somewhere and LadyDevimon knows it's there, she's going to be snatching it up. It doesn't matter if it was a dessert some Digimon made that was resting to cool, or if a Tamer had something that was sweet in their bag. She's taking it, and she's shoving it into her mouth without a care. She just has a massive sweet tooth, though she tries to avoid being seen with such. She won't fall for tricks involving them, though.

The BIGGEST bitch if you make someone she cares about sad/upset in some way. She absolutely will defend anyone she cares about - this goes especially when it comes to having a Tamer. She's not going to let anyone make her Tamer upset in any way, and she'll give whoever did it the WORST tongue-lashing of their entire life. Even if she doesn't have a Tamer, but has a Digimon she's close with (which is rare for a Digimon like her), she is going OUT OF HER WAY to make sure whoever hurt them is going to be hurt 10x as much from her words.

LadyDevimon just likes to cause problems on purpose. That's just known. She also hates to show weakness in any way, so she always hides when she has an injury, or she never mentions it. You'd have to have her trust on a damn high level for her to even let you attempt to get close to her to help her. She acts like a cat when she's hurt, going to hide somewhere dark until it heals over.

Tai thought he was special (and he is) for having Agumon as his partner. The special-est of snowflakes. I'm biased in saying he is.

Then you showed up with an Agumon in tow. While the Agumons were PSYCHED about having a buddy, Tai was absolutely pouty. I imagine this happens around 02 time, so he's just extra pouty. Less adventures already, and now a second Agumon?? Ugh.

Every time the 02 gang sees him, he's pouting. It's because you're there. He won't admit that, though, because that's rude and Matt would punch him.

Of course, T.K. and Kari pick up on this regardless and tease that they only need one Agumon per outing, making Tai pout even harder.

You settle into the group pretty easily (ignoring Tai), and even he has to admit you're a hard worker and you're doing your best to help out. Begrudgingly he admits that maybe it's useful to have your Agumon around when he's not there to help Agumon Digivolve.

Begrudgingly.

Then again, the more he sees you, the more he realizes you're a real asset to the group. You prove yourself over and over, and if his sister likes you, well, you must be cool, right? He slowly starts to get over his pouting. Slowly.

As you get friendlier, you exchange notes on how to keep Agumon fed. Because you know, that's the most pressing issue when Agumon is your partner.

We don't talk about the time you two accidentally swapped Agumon. Oopsies.

It doesn't take long for your interactions to turn into a romcom, and everyone but you two can see it. You're literally holding hands how can you not see it.

It's Sora who walks up to you two and goes, "You need to go on a date <3" and because no one argues with Sora and gets away with it, you do.

Look at that, you're dating now. Was that so hard? (Now you don't hold hands because you're both blushing really hard. Oops.)

Digimon Survive time skip headcanons

~15 years after the truthful route~

Takuma (29) - counselor Starting off as a perfectly average student with no particular ambitions or passion for a career, Takuma finds his talent in counseling through the adventure with his friends. Remembering how much his words have consoled and motivated them through dark times, his friends encourage him to make a living of it. He goes on to become the first counselor to specialize in human-Kemonogami relations, working to help his clients understand their feelings, sort out any conflicts, and deepen their bonds. His friends still sometimes come to him for advice and a second opinion, and for them he always provides his service free of charge. He manages their group text and coordinates their reunions, so they manage to stay in touch no matter how busy or far apart they are.

Minoru (29) - disaster relief worker, occasional stand-up comedian Driven to be among the heroes he always read about, Minoru signs himself up for a job that demands courage and selflessness in all kinds of dire situations. He pitches in to rescue the missing and injured during tsunamis and earthquakes that often plague Japan. When he's not providing help during these disasters, he dabbles in his side gig of stand-up comedy. Minoru hasn't found much success with securing a long-term girlfriend, but that doesn't stop him from his lifelong mission to put a smile on people's faces.

Aoi (30) - MI5/Security Service agent The journey through another world kindled in Aoi's heart a sense of justice and the power to protect innocents. She decides to pursue a career in law enforcement. After high school, she moves to the United Kingdom and enrolls as an international student. She works hard to become fluent in English and be proficient in firearms and self-defense. She joins the MI5: the UK's domestic counterintelligence and security agency. Aoi's had her fair share of busting drug and human trafficking rings, though her calm and collected demeanor is put to particularly good use as a hostage negotiator. She marries a fellow agent, an Englishman, and together they have several children. She is beloved and respected by her colleagues for her kind heart, quiet diligence, and delicious meals she'd bring to potluck. Aoi has assimilated comfortably and happily as a working wife and mother in England, but should her childhood friends in Japan need help, she won't hesitate to come running.

Saki (27) - pediatric anesthesiologist As a sickly and frail girl, Saki made frequent trips to the hospital for surgery. Out of the many medical professionals she encountered, the anesthesiologists left the biggest mark on her. They’d relieve her worries and anxiety before surgery, and helped make her hospital visits less scary and painful. Inspired by their role and positive impact on her health, Saki decides to become an anesthesiologist herself. With a soft spot for kids, she specializes in pediatric anesthesia. Her frank and outspoken manner is an asset in the OR, letting her be heard and respected by even the most curmudgeonly surgeons. Throughout her medical training and career, Saki turns down countless men and hasn't gone on even a single date. Her colleagues joke that she's married to medicine, but in reality her heart belongs only to a certain girl she adventured with and admired all those years ago. That girl had gone on to start a career and a family on the other side of the world, leaving Saki to bury her regrets and feelings left unsaid through long shifts in the OR.

Kaito (29) - rock star Kaito never really stood out in school, but he did like music. He finds a healthy way to channel aggressive impulses through head-banging rock, moody lyrics, and sick guitar riffs. He becomes an international sensation and never stays in one place for too long, touring all over the world as a nomad and sometimes collaborating with other rock stars. He's best known as the singer behind some opening and ending themes to anime adaptations of his sister's manga series. Kaito builds up a huge fanbase and is wildly popular with female fans, but he was never interested in girls. Only those who were spirited away with him in the Kemonogami world know who gets him all flustered and red in the face. He would rather die than admit it, of course.

Miu (26) - mangaka, professional cosplayer Staying true to her quirky and eccentric personality, Miu finds great success in becoming an author of horror and dark fantasy manga. Her bestselling work, however, is the one most true to life: the one detailing her adventures in the Kemonogami world. She also dabbles in professional cosplay, making a name for herself on social media. Miu would tease that her brother's music sounds like "growling demons banging pots and pans in the garage", but is actually his biggest supporter and would often promote his singles, albums, and tours. She has also been the occasional artist for cover art of his songs.

Shuuji (31) - university professor A career in academia wasn’t Shuuji's first choice. Pressured by conformity, tradition, and high expectations of his family, Shuuji tries at first to become a physician. During his college studies, he realizes that he has no interest whatsoever in his pre-medical courses. Most of all, he didn’t think he could handle the amount of responsibility and leadership the profession demanded. Remembering the Professor as a positive adult role model in his life, Shuuji decides to follow his footsteps. In an act of rebellion against his family, he drops the pre-medical route and pursues a masters and doctorate in history. When the Professor retires, Shuuji succeeds him. Through teaching, he finds the right balance in guiding the next generation without shouldering the kind of responsibility and stress that'd crush him. Deeming Shuuji a failure and a disappointment, his family cut ties with him. Shuuji is grateful that he has a second family to lean on, a family from two worlds.  

Ryo (30) - sign language interpreter, disability advocate Once being a caretaker for his chronically ill mother, and being partnered with the nonverbal Kunemon, left a significant impact on Ryo and influenced his choice of career. Underneath his abrasive and prickly demeanor is a great sense of compassion towards those who struggle with expressing themselves. Nothing sets off his berserk button more than seeing someone being discriminated or mistreated for their disability. Ryo truly enjoys his work, though of course he hides the fact behind a front of constant grumbling and griping. His interpreting services are often needed at the same hospital Saki works at, cementing the odd yet steady friendship they've started all those years ago.

ridiculously specific headcanons (digimon edition)

written for day 3 of @digiweek: "humor"

yamato cannot stay up past 11pm. he can hardly make it to 10:30pm. he's tried, but it's just so hard for him, he's perpetually tired. he doesn't understand how his father works so late when he goes in so early. he's the only one in his family that needs 8-10 hours of sleep to function. he'll be cranky without them.

(takeru functions on 3-6 hrs daily. he prbly didn't sleep much as a baby, while yamato always slept like a rock. this followed them into adolescence. inspiration: me vs my sister's sleep schedule)

mimi loves being called on in class simply cos she likes to put on a show. the dramatics are so fun for her, and if she doesn't know the answer at least she can have a good time about it and she loves entertaining her peers.

iori's socks always have to match. always. he can't leave if they don't match.

you know those kids in school who are like... completely clueless but super cheerful abt it? like they have absolutely no idea what they're doing but it's all goofy smiles & peace signs? confident dumbass energy? that's taichi, and prbly daisuke too. they're very confident in their answers even though they're almost always wrong. swoon. such himbos.

daisuke likes beatboxing. he's not the best at it but his number one fan is chibomon. the rest of the 02 kiddos indulge him. much like everyone indulges takeru's disaster fashion sense.

miyako is so bad at spoiling things in media. she doesn't even mean to, it just comes out, like "did you know character a is finally with character b? i thought for sure they'd pick character c!! oh it was so romantic--" or "i'm so sad they killed of x characterrrrr"

and then "i have not seen it miyako why did you do this to me"

mario kart = a fight to the death. jou always ends up in last place. he's so bad at gaming that it's hilarious to everyone. he can even work out strategies in his head but they don't work in practice.

ken has such a dry, dark sense of humor but he's so shy that it only comes out on accident or if he's super comfortable. this part of his personality usually only surfaces in a group-chat format, cos it's easier to be open in chat but anxiety-inducing in-person

takeru is a total prankster in the sense that he knows what's going on with everyone. like he knows when to stop, he knows how much is too much, and he's respectful, but he also notices all the little things. we've seen this in canon. he's all innocence & sunshine on the outside but a secret mischievous imp on the inside. he's very observant.

like cmon this kid is a writer, he knows things, he can read body language, he notices little details others don't.

imagine yamato going through his google search history, like if he borrows his phone to search something up and all these suspicious things come up

"how much blood can you lose before it's fatal?"

"how to tell if an arm is broken"

"at what point does a person experience hypothermia"

"how to put out a fire quickly"

"can you die from a four-story drop"

yamato is very alarmed & concerned by this discovery. takeru starts searching things on incognito mode.

sora's very meticulous with cleaning. like imagine if, at some point, she & mimi live together

two different kinds of people. one person leaves all the cabinets open. one person makes sure they're all shut. one person uses coasters, and the other doesn't and there are water/soda rings everywhere. one leaves the used blanket on the sofa and the other folds it and puts it away.

needless to say sora has the patience of a saint

Been working on a short list of headcanons for Archnemon & Mummymon. I’ll probably reblog with more later, but here are a few!

The main/biggest headcanon being: they’re fine. I don’t care about canon I don’t care about BelialVamdemon they’re fine. They came back post episode 48, I don’t care how, and they’re just doing their thing somewhere. They're alive, I promise.

(I should also specify that when I mention Oikawa here, I specifically mean the Oikawa that was influenced/posessed by Vamdemon. VamdOikawa, if you will.)

ARCHNEMON

Archnemon was created first (and was originally supposed to be Oikawa’s only henchman), with a lot of thought and care put into her design.

At her creation Archnemon was a completely blank slate with little in the way of emotion or discernible personality. To cope with this she began imitating Oikawa, absorbing his personality over time and even his mannerisms.

She wasn’t created with the Spirit Needle ability- it was spliced into her later once its codes had been fully perfected. It was. Not a fun experience.

The Spirit Needle’s power depends on the length of her hair (and for more complex creations like stronger Digimon, the number of individual hairs used). If she were to cut her hair she could weaken or even cancel its power, which is why Oikawa made her keep her hair so long.

She really doesn’t like other people touching her hair.

She has. Anxiety issues. They were bad before encountering BelialVamdemon. They got worse after. She’s working on it, but it’s taking time.

She has a tendency to bite her thumb when she's stressed or needs to focus. She has chewed through her glove and drawn blood on more than one occasion.

She tends to stand on Mummymon’s left as much as she can.

She really likes how both of her forms look and seems to appreciate them both equally.

MUMMYMON

Mummymon was created second as, essentially, an afterthought. A few weeks after Archnemon materialized, Oikawa decided a second henchman could come in handy in case something happened to her. Thus Mummymon was born, meant to be cannon fodder to protect the Spirit Needle.

He was never meant to leave the Digital World, hence his odd-looking human form.

However, since he kind of became Archnemon’s lackey, Oikawa allowed him to follow her into the Human World.

Oikawa is aware of Mummymon’s love for Archnemon, but doesn’t believe he’s capable of such feelings (he doesn’t believe either of them are capable of love). Instead he’s convinced Mummymon is just misinterpreting his coding that is telling him to protect the Spirit Needle.

Mummymon knows this. He absolutely hates it.

The cane Mummymon uses in his human form is actually Obelisk in disguise. If needed he can transform her back into gun form without transforming himself.

However he’d much rather keep her as a cane, as he suffers from joint pain in his right knee that can get pretty bad at times.

He needs soap for sensitive skin.

His ears flick when he’s trying to focus. Archnemon will never admit that she finds this cute.

Despite having just one eye his depth perception is pretty good.

However he gets pretty stressed out when people stand on his right, in his blindspot.

I think my favorite thing about adult Jou and Sora as either friends or romantic partners or whatever is how calm and comfortable they would be around each other. Work or family life could stress them both out individually, but together they would be able to relax easily and laugh freely and comfort each other when seriousness or stress gets the better of them

Headcanons for Gryzmon

They absolutely love anything that needs marmalade in it like toast.

Very playful and love when you go to the park with them so you can take pictures and show them later.

They're not too fond of teddy bears, they think cat plushies are way cuter because they think teddy bears need way too many accessories.

They love going to candle stores and smelling the seasonal scents, especially those with pumpkin in them.

They don't like ice cream and prefer frozen yogurt cause it's healthier and doesn't make their tummy bloat.

Hello there! I'm so sorry this is so late, and I hope you get to see this, Anon! You seem very sweet, and I thank you very much for how delightful it is to read this request!

As I have done several times on this blog, I'm perfectly happy writing both platonic and romantic headcanons. It's a joy to see the similarities and differences, hehe.

Jourato (Jou x Sora x Yamato) Headcanons

Platonic

They are Dad friend, Mom friend, and Tired friend. Together, they are EXHAUSTION. They are so done with everyone else, they need a nap.

There's a rule among the Adventure kids. If you desperately need something, call Yamato first. If he doesn't pick up, THEN call Sora. If she's not picking up, THEN call Jou. DO NOT CALL JOU FIRST.

I know Sora should be first in that tree, but Yamato is like. The "fielding" call. If what you want is stupid, he'll tell you. We love him for that.

Even though Jou claims he doesn't need it, Sora and Yamato show up for weekly Break Time. They drink tea and just sit and enjoy each other's company. It's very soothing.

Jou often falls asleep on one of their shoulders during the Adventure gang meetings, they don't mind in the least. Takeru thinks it's unfair that he can't do that with Yamato.

Sora and Yamato are the first ones Jou calls when he's super stressed about his schoolwork or residency or what have you. They assure him he'll do fine, and they'll take him out for dinner afterwards.

As they get older, Break Time turns into Weekly Dinner, and it's very sweet because even though they're all super busy they always make some sort of time for each other.

Taichi is so pouty in the corner about this but that's the funniest part of this trio. (So is Takeru honestly.)

Romantic

EXHAUSTION turned into being there for each other. Being there for each other turned into a romantic relationship. None of the three can quite explain how this happened.

All of a sudden, they just knew they were together. Sora was holding Yamato's hand on the school, Yamato was reaching for Jou's when they were doing homework, Jou would sleepily cuddle Sora when he was exhausted. It was just... the way it was.

Jou is the littlest spoon, Yamato is the little spoon, and Sora is the big spoon. I will accept no criticism.

Jou stops by the high school to walk with Yamato and Sora and so many underclassmen are like "omg who's he waiting for" and of course it's YAMATO AND SORA, EVERYONE'S FAVORITE UPPERCLASSMEN. There is jealousy abound. The three of them sparkle in everyone's worldview.

This is quickly shattered the moment Jou whines and drapes himself over Yamato while Sora giggles.

They seem to communicate telepathically when trying to figure out how to handle the Taichi Problem. (i.e. Taichi is causing trouble again, what should we do.) Taichi says this is unfair, he's being ganged up on. Yes. Yes, he is.

When Yamato is upset about something, it's Jou who goes over and just sits silently until he tells him what's wrong. Then they call Sora and have a nice movie night. This calms our blondie down like nothing else.

Sora will have a bad day and without even seeing her, Yamato and Jou show up and say "want a hug?" and suddenly everything is better now.

Fists are thrown when deciding on a movie to watch

the kids argue over what food to eat

Takuma gets buried in snow against his will

Shuuji loses his temper (this doesnt happen often) and punches kaito in ths face (he got on shuuji's nerves)

Saki gets pelted in the face with snowballs
