Title: Virtual World Genshin

Character(s): Multiple Characters (Genshin Impact)

Summary: Sagau; Placing a device on your head, you lay down on your bed and entered a virtual world. Hanging out with npcs and teaming up with them to fight your missions or theirs. Well, maybe you were wrong about them being npcs?

Note: This is inspired by sword art online kinda? I thought of VR at first but I could not really make it interesting enough for myself to write then I thought the chars in sword art online got trapped in a virtual world...

Warnings/tags: Gn!reader, yandere themes, cultish, sagau, kidnapping (technically? you will be taken from your world), can be seen as platonic or romantic but the kids (Diona, Klee, Qiqi) are just platonic and nothing more.

Genshin is an interesting game, you thought to yourself yet whined when you remembered how much money you spend on this one game. It was expensive.

Placing the headset on your head, you lay down on your bed and logged into the game.

You felt like you were floating on air as you watched the world load in, first the terrain letting you stand on it, then the trees and buildings far and near that looked far too realistic sometimes when you watched all the small details load in.

The smell of glazelilies and delicious food and the sound of crowds, people talking to each other you can hear them as they talk about their day or how they try to haggle the price down in the shops.

"Ahh, you are back! How are you? Gouba missed you!" Xinagling smiled at you when you entered the restaurant, the smell of spice and the heat radiating of the stove... too real.

"Hey, Xiangling."

The game is simple enough more often than not you are just helping the traveler of your choosing either Lumine or Aether find their other sibling. (The sibling that you didn't choose.) You were like Paimon in a way, that you would be in their life when they need you.

How you would see a notification screen suddenly pop right in front of your face telling you to help the traveler and Paimon in their own missions. The archon quest and all but unlike Paimon you can leave the team whenever you want.

Able to roam free and do whatever you want. This was your own world and your world alone.

The game had co-op too, sending you to another world specific for that (always crowded with people) but when it came to your own world it was you and the npcs only.

You are just you here with the weapon and element you picked at the beginning of the game. Unable to change too much of your features except for the color of your hair or maybe a few tattoos.

Instead of the traveler who too focused on finding their other half, you have dailies and resin for yourself. Building your weapons, artifacts, talents and such. (gifts for the npcs is also another things that you often spent your mora on)

The daily missions are a mix, some designed so that you could do them by yourself while the other which usually involves a lot of fighting would involve asking certain characters to help you out.

It was fun really when you got Kaeya and Diluc who you met at the angel share to go with you to clear out the hilichurl camp.

"Oh, it seems that you have gotten a lot stronger than before Diluc. Could it be because of our lovely little traveler here?"

"Hmph."

Or maybe helping out Yoimiya and Thoma in protecting the hot air balloon goods from monsters.

"Thoma! Get that box that fell off from the ballon! Me and ____ will deal with the hilichurls!"

"On it, Yoimiya!"

Cleaning the anemo archon statues with Barbara or Venti is also fun.

But really the best is the Archon quests or World quests, this one is more specific when it comes to teaming with others. Sometimes would team up with one character only, sometimes with three but not over. The four of you work hard together to figure out puzzles, travel new terrain, steal or help others.

The more personal missions are usually nerve-racking more often than not seeing others' lives play out for a certain character and whatnot. And all you can do is be by their side.

You will morn with those characters their lost, you help them find what they are searching for, overjoyed when the other is happy. You are particularly close with the traveler seeing as they are the main characters in the story.

But in the end, this was just but a game, this isn't reality but a dream, virtual reality, and when you wake up from it you have to face reality.

It is hard at times when you have to log out when you were talking to one of the many characters. Telling them that you gotta turn in for the day, and that you need sleep. Them just smiling as the two of you say goodbye.

They never understood that this was a game you thought, after all you watched others play the game managing to get a video telling a character that they were nothing more than a game, codes and pixels.

Yet the characters never acknowledge that they were, looking at the player funnily as if they were just joking around or have gone crazy.

Walking around the game one time you wondered how the devs were able to make such a beautiful game. Again everything all looked so realistic the characters' emotions, thoughts, troubles and all that you just can't believe this was a dream or even a digital world!

When you got hit in-game you could feel the pain the hilichurl gave you, it was a little less painful than real life but the fact that you could feel surprised you the first time you got hit. What's more when you watched other characters get a heavy hit... you wondered if they too feel pain, when you watched Diona too panic to use her burst to heal Rosaria who was on the grass... hurt.

When you rested in the grass you could feel the pointy tips of it lightly tickling you and when you ate their food, everything tasted delicious, did they too also taste how delicious the food was? Sometimes you wished to believe so when they ate with you complimenting the food that you cook at camp that day.

The kind npcs who greeted you as a hero or sidekick with the traveler you knew why many in your world fall so far into the game wanting this world to be their reality far more than their own. Yet you could not help to also cherish this a little sometimes.

Sometimes.

You would be the same, but you understood that this was a dream and that this wasn't real but all just a game. Because in the end when you wake up the pain you felt in-game from getting hit by an arrow was suddenly gone, and the food that you ate with the characters did not fill your stomach. It is small things like that bring you back to reality and help you understand that all this was just a game.

Sometimes it is hard sometimes it is not but you learn how to separate reality vs game here.

How disappointing.

It was often when Yunjin and Xinyan would try to invite you to a show or two. Asking you to stay for a while longer when you have to leave soon.

"You must see this amazing show of ours! Yunjin helped me so much with this new song, you just gotta listen."

"Could you just stay for an hour, please?"

How the children would give you those pitiful eyes that made your heart pull when they ask you to play a little more.

"Klee wanted to play with you a little more... Are you sure you won't play with me anymore?"

"Qiqi wanted to watch the flinches with you..."

"I wanted to show you this new drink... not that I made it just for you... but it would be nice... hmph."

You thought that maybe it was because you are someone who played a hero that they adore you so much. Because of all the missions, they thought of you as a close friend.

It was nice when you, Diluc, Kaeya and Roasaria are together having a bit of banter whenever you got to the angel's share.

"You should drink a little more, it would only be a waste after coming all this way."

"They would like grape juice more, Kaeya. Too much drinking is also bad for you."

"Leave them alone you two."

Ninguang would tell you about her plans, never in full detail, but every so often she would slip a thing or two to you all the while Beidou and Kazuha would barge into the jade chamber (mostly Beidou) to play with you and Ninguang.

"So that is what I was planni-"

"Yo! I heard that you guys were together so I thought of dropping to the jade chamber to say hello!"

"Seriously Beidou, have a little sense."

Zhongli would often tell you stories of his own. Suspiciously stories that the internet never heard about when you look it up, made you wonder if there were hidden missions that you by mistake completed. Those stories are often the reason why you stay in-game a little longer, just to hear everything because you weren't sure you will be hearing them again.

"Have I told you about this?"

Childe would drag you together with him, telling you that you and he were comrades and that you and he must stick together!

"Since you are my comrade, you better watch my back alright."

Ayato and Ayaka would often invite you to the Kamisato home telling you that you stay for a while.

"You haven't been to the Kamisato home for a while, Ayaka misses you. Come and rest there for today."

"Ah! You are here, I am so glad to see you again."

Somehow just somehow Itto gets into more fights and trouble than necessary or even normal when you are around that you must stay a little longer to help Kuki Shinobu fix things up.

"Thanks without you I am not sure what to do with this guy and his group sometimes."

"Oh come on Shinobu! You love me, and so do you!"

When did this start?

There was always something that made you stay a little longer, there was always someone accompanying you where ever you go.

Sometimes you wondered if it was timed... you remembered that when you first started playing the game you were mostly alone if not with the traveler and Paimon searching and fighting monsters alone for their loot, finding beautiful sceneries as you traveled and marking them off your map.

Now you don't even have that moment of silence, as someone is always there with you. Don't get it wrong... you liked being with them, they are your friends in some form of way... complicated... and you would never say no when all they wish was a little bit of your time but also fight alongside you.

But you can't shake that feeling that when you look at their smiles there was a hint of desperation. That they were just clinging to you as if you are just going to disappear at a moment's notice.

When you promised Albedo, Ei and more characters that you will come back after taking a small break for yourself, some alone time. How they hold your hand or arm so tightly as if afraid only to reluctantly release them, smiling as they said goodbye.

You will come back...

What were you supposed to do when suddenly you aren't able to log out of the game.

That your body was stuck unable to wake up, as you tried and tried to leave. When you begged the system to let you out yet there was no answer, no notification just errors and errors which every button you picked to get out.

You didn't see them come close, surprising you when you suddenly heard their voice asking you if you were okay. Their words of worry you didn't trust when you saw the satisfaction in their eyes, the hesitance in them gone as they bring you into a hug clinging to you telling you that it was alright.

You belong to their world.

FALLING IN LOVE

This is Isekai SAGAU, but not Cult AU, if that makes sense.

DILUC

You could definitely say that he caught your eye. Seeing how he handled that Abyss Mage, being able to play him as a trial character for the first time... Yes, you sir (gender neutral) were in love with this man and his battle prowess.

And yeah, maybe you found better characters for more serious challenges offered in the game, but nothing was quite like your love for your main: Diluc Ragnvindr.

It only makes since, then, that this favoritism and newfound strength of his should carry on into your isekai into Teyvat. Getting Diluc was the easy part, but befriending him in person? Face to face, no wiki page or video tutorial? Yeah, you just about expected it wouldn't happen.

Truth be told, if you were just a liiittle more discreet about the fact you were essentially God, you may have flown under his radar. Would've never suspected that you'd be capable of pushing his vision to new heights, nor able to 'ascend' him closer to Celestia.

You really do scare him in that aspect. Your power doesn't come at any cost for him nor you, and you just... don't care? This is normal and healthy and fun for you? You know, most people drink for fun.

And so, if you are going to be reckless and use your lack of repercussion as an excuse to travel alone, then Diluc was simply going to have to accompany you. with a leash.

Then love did the darnedst thing. It struck him from behind, where he never saw it coming — where he felt you press your arms around him for a hug. Suddenly, you were everything. You were the sun and he, the moon. You were the stars that adorned his long and arduous nights, barely illuminating the city streets for him.

The thought of your smile gave him all he needed to protect Mondstadt and come back home to you — you were home, and you stayed at the Dawn Winery.

You still waited, even though he granted you permission to retire for the night. You stayed in the candlelight, where you'd listen for his arrival; nowadays, even that candlelight held not a single flicker close to the warm fire that engulfed his very heart. He was the dawn; you were the day and night.

He placed his hand over his heart and his gloves could even still feel the cycles of light and dark, of love and winter. They followed each other, dancing until you won — you were the sun and he, the moon.

Together, when he held your hand again, he could sense the dawn that had settled. When you fell asleep on your adventure with him through Teyvat, it was as though the sun didn't just fall asleep; it crashed into him as he guarded your body. Its flames burned his skin, searing desire into him once more. It was love and it burned him not to kiss you goodnight.

You could imagine his pain, then, when he had to sleep alone. The sun watched over the both of you until morning, where it just barely touched him.

At times, it felt like he would burn alive if he couldn't give in. He'd blow up if he couldn't truly determine where you stood — he'd just die.

Right there, Diluc was falling hard, and he'd give just about anything to figure out if you felt the same.

KAEYA

One of the first characters you met, and honestly, you were determined to main him. Now, if you were a F2P player, it would be hard, but you could buy his constellations. In the mean time then, you were going to at least level up all of his talents first. You were going to grind for him, and try to get him at full power, because you were going to build him to his highest power — you KNEW it was fate.

And maybe you should damn yourself, and damn fate, for throwing you into this world before you could perfect him. Damn you, Celestia, for the cruelty of having to personally grind for a character!

And especially damn Kaeya, for being so charming and calm about it. Oh no, he KNEW he was growing stronger, but who'd have thought it was because of you?

At first, he tried to be a little sneaky. Oh, you were talking to yourself about your new Godhood? Boom. He knows and he'll be cheeky, all proud of himself as he hides this knowledge — studies you further to see if maybe your claimed involvement holds water.

Well, he'll be damned. You can make vision-wielders stronger, somehow. He presents this information to you, all sly and in a 'yeah I kinda know everything' manner. Look at his face when you show him you really didn't care — it'll give you a good laugh.

You were really okay with the fact he knew something so personal and dangerous and, ugh, he— did you know?!? He doesn't say it so incredulously, but to the well-trained eye you had, you could see past the façade and into his annoyed eye. You mean he could've just... asked you about it? Why are you even this honest??

Maybe it was the revelation of your honesty that caught his eye or maybe it was your nature of mystery that shrouded your presence. Still, whatever it was, it definitely got him. He looked at his vision and saw his brother, but he saw you in his sword.

You... really tried to make him strong, didn't you? You made it sound like a grand investment; something that took a lot from you so that he could be the strongest among the Knights, if not the strongest in Mondstadt. That really meant something to him, whether you've figured that out or not.

It was all too likely then, that he'd fall for you. Everyone else had found their special someone and now this is his. You were finally his 'someone who wanted him around and accepted him'.

When you reveal that you know his darkest secret and you still care, you gave him a house. You kept his secret and you gave him food; your words of encouragement was the water he needed, as bitter as it was.

You were here for him — his truest friend. You were worth fighting for and you were someone who he could see himself with. He could look after you. He could protect you when he found the time.

So, with a lighter heart and stronger arms, he raised his sword and fought with you. He was truly and madly in love with you now, secrets or not. It didn't matter that you were one of few to know; you were all he needed.

He just needs to figure out how to tell you and when to do it...

JEAN

Now, unlike Kaeya and Diluc, you didn't actually main Jean prior to your isekai. In any case, you still cared for and valued her. When you were brought into the world of Teyvat, one of the first things you did was check in on Jean after Barbara mumbled about her worries for her. Jean gets it, her sister made you worry...

... but it was like, all of a sudden, it became a personal matter to you. Like you knew the damage she did to herself in trying to be more than the Dandelion Knight for Mondstadt. It wasn't very long until you were starting to get involved in her work-life balance and routine. Yes, she's very thankful for your kind words, but did you HAVE to cut off her coffee intake? Yes, you did She could take care of herself! No, she really couldn't

And okay, maybe the reason she puts up with now is no longer because of her sister's sake. This was supposed to be about Barbara sleeping peacefully about her sister, but somehow, Barbara's relief became more of an additional benefit. Jean had another reason to relax. Somewhere along the way, Jean started to feel a draw towards this person — this entity who cared for her in the intimate setting of her office after work. This individual with unforeseen power and abilities, and yet they held her so sweetly.

They asked for her opinion on romance novels. They asked Lisa for books that Jean might like, which Lisa had laughed about to Jean. This traveller completed commissions around Mondstadt; especially ones that had bothered Jean for a while on her desk. Sure, they cut off her coffee if they felt she had too much, but they made her some in the morning, too. They threw a blanket over her if she fell asleep at her desk, and surprise! Missing cats were found and menacing monster met their end.

Sometimes, she'd even find a flower on her desk, with a little story written on how it was found and how they thought it was cute. There was no shortage of reminders to hydrate and check her posture. She'd even heard from other knight on how you can be when someone is trying to report to Jean while she's resting!

Apparently, you give one hell of a glare if they even think of waking her up. She already knows that you'll end up writing it down for her if it wasn't already reported on paper. You were sweet like that. Therefore, how could she not fall in love you?

Kind, helpful, thoughtful you who tried your hardest to make her life easier, like some sort of assistant.

What a capable 'assistant' you were, with the ability to use 'artifacts' and wield elements without a vision. She now found herself thinking of you during her work. She kept all your flowers, treasured your notes... she had a whole filing cabinet dedicated to your silly stories. She loves all of them, and she's even started to come to terms with that fact that maybe, just maybe...

... ah, it's time for work again. You're proabbly waiting for her in her office, again.

If diluc is not available then kaeya is. If both of them are not available you would be sitting in a living room with adelinde comforting you. While they're doing their own work, they can't help but feel uneasy. Like something is missing. And that's where it hit them. It's siblings spend time together day.

Diluc was fast to get home since he can rely on his worker to cover his job, meanwhile kaeya would speed up and finish his work asap and went back home. There he will see diluc terribly comforting you while he took a deep breath and ready to spend a day with both of you.

All these years I've been slaying demons and not once I've ever thought about smiling on a mortal doing silly thing just for an ice cream.

Just as he was about to walk towards you, you happen to trip on some random rock (zhongli go get ur rock). Not thinking at all he dashed towards you grabbing you throwing you up in the sky before catching you.

Never thought an adeptus could do something like that..

"never. Never again. Be careful ____! You could've gotten hurt if me or Mr zhongli isn't here. It's not like I'd leave you alone but still."

After alot of begging he throw u up in the sky with a permission of Mr zhongli. You could see the beautiful view from up there. Your eye shine and you were never been happier.

Well on the subject of Itto, I headcanon him being 6'6 ft tall... Why??? I like to headcanon that, at some point after Diluc was nearly killed by the harbingers, he collapsed somewhere near Liyue harbor (His injuries probably weren't directly related to the Harbinger ones, tho it depends on the amount of time it's taken between That incident and him being in Liyue, I think I came up with this idea LONG before i really understood a lot of what Diluc actually did away from home xD) he's found and carried to Liyue, where he's tended to, probably by Baizhu cause I love Baizhu, and recovers. Its here he's visited by Zhongli. Zhongli knew Crepus. Not super well! They weren't besties or nothin, but Crepus would be in Liyue, and Zhongli would be in Liyue, both of them having some level of prestige, Zhongli through his job and Crepus through his Titles, ended up meeting. They would talk and of course that means Zhongli heard about Diluc. Beyond that even, Zhongli was probably vaguely aware of Diluc's existence just from the fact that Crepus is a Ragnvindr, which means gossip/news on his family spreads potentially across the globe. (And maybe Zhongli checked in once in a while out of honor to a dear friend he hadn't seen in five hundred years...) ANYWAYS. Zhongli introduces himself and mentions he knew Crepus. A grieving Diluc probably asks for more information without really knowing if he wants more info or not. Its through this that Zhongli learns of Crepus's passing, and Diluc being less well put together from his injuries, ends up confessing to having hurt Kaeya. He despairs of ever being able to make up for it, to which Zhongli is surprisingly quiet and attentive before finally speaking up: "...Life is short, like the flower, it blooms for a season, blossoms in all its color and beauty, and then it shrivels away on the winds, nothing left of it but the Sweetness of memory." He pauses. "If you care about your brother, than return to him, confess your wrong doings, and don't let the burden of you mistakes carry until such a time as the ability to do something about them is force-ably taken away from your hands." The mans smile is soft, but sad. Not in a pitying way, and not in a way that is even directed at Diluc, if anything, he seems thousands of miles away. "There are fewer burdens, and fewer regrets, that can weigh heavier." This of course creates a fun dynamic to play around with if Lumine or other events drag Diluc to Liyue later >:D As for AU's I can give you two I've dwelled on!: Number one is an Inazuma rewrite, but I bring in a party of my chosing. I started this one before I played the game, so I didn't exaclty understand what went down in the INazuma plot, but Man I was having fun so xD THe party of choice in this case was Zhongli, Diluc, Thoma, and of course Lumine. I had fun with this idea because it allowed Zhongli and Diluc to function in the plot, and Thoma would be WAAAAY more involved as well. I didn't iron out Loads of details, but I wanted there to be a big confrontation between Lumine and Zhongli based off the fact that Azhdaha's quest happened before Inazuma, and before that was uh. THe reveal of Khaenri'ah. Needless to say Lumine's not exactly feeling the greatest about Zhongli. But she considers him a friend, or at least wants too. Zhongli is dealing with the sting of a pre-inazuma plot confrontation from Lumine, where she confessed that she'd have a hard time trusting him if he kept keeping secrets and he couldn't explain himself.

The two of them were planned to get into a huge fight that ALMOST gets physical. But Diluc stops them (Something something he knows making the mistake of attacking someone you love out of fear and broken trust 🙃) This ends up splitting the party for a while, Diluc going off with Zhongli, and Thoma staying with Lumine. Ultimately I wanted this to end with Zhongli getting to have a bit Showdown with Raiden Shogun, essentially kinda getting to brute force his way into her grief. I always loved the idea of the woman who can't move on from grief talking with the man who has suffered so much grief but still lives, this would kinda allow that, it would also allow for Zhongli to be a little bit of a father figure to Ei in her frustrations and grief. Also it would be hilarious if Inazuma kinda knew Rex Lapis was alive... but he kinda saved all their butts, so nobody's going to out him xD This would essentially spiral into a lot of canon divergence plots and development for the cast of characters that's just, not in canon? But man I still think it'd be so fun :D Also Diluc and Ei eventually become friends through this adsflJSFLSJDLGJSLDGJSDGSDG. I think they could help each other :) The SECOND AU is one where, Diluc, on his journey, ends up getting stuck in Inazuma before he can get home. So diluc is visionless, Has the Delusion, and is not in good health. Itto ends up finding him passed out on a beach, drags him back to Granny Oni's, and his gang nurse him back to health all while assuming Diluc was a victim of the Vision hunt decree (i think the vision hunt decree is pretty recent in canon?? This would be an AU where the timeline got bumped up, probably Raiden starts off a lot slower with the vision hunts, only taking a few of them once in a great while to further "eternity" Until she spirals bad enough to start taking them all.... IDK its rough but workable maybe xD) THis AU is mostly for letting Itto bully Diluc into loving himself among other things xD and the angst of it taking even longer for Diluc and Kaeya to reunite...... WHich i would defo make them reunite when Lumine comes over to finally end the Vision hunt decree soooooooooo >:3 Diluc ends up getting adopted by the Arataki gang, by EVERY member, and he's not happy about it (He is, he's just a freaking tsundere)

1. When I think they became friends (if canon already hasn't showed how they became friends)

I actually mix this up a bit depending on the universe I'm playing with at the moment--I fairly universally headcanon that they met shortly after Kaeya was adopted regardless, as part of the 'baby knights trio' headcanons, but when they became actual friends can range from "at the same time Kaeya became friends with Diluc" to "they were both in Diluc's cavalry at the same time and bonded then" to "not until after Diluc left and Kaeya stepped out of his shadow." That said, left free-floating, I do tend to prefer the younger end of the range! Because adolescent apprentice-knight buddies is fun. :>

3. A random headcanon I have of them

Hahaha so many of my headcanons I've already rambled about or shoved into fic, but I am very fond, in general, of Kaeya coming in to help Jean with work, or taking paperwork away from her to do, and 'accidentally' grabbing papers he doesn't have the clearance to see while he's at it, and Jean turning a blind eye because she trusts him to want to know for purposes that are ultimately to Mondstadt's benefit.

9. Would I change anything about their friendship?

I mean, aside from actually having it in canon instead of 90% headcanons and fic with just enough tiny implicative dribbles in-game now and then..... XD;; This is like headcanon-based because obviously the game gives us very little of them together anyway and I'm sure physical interaction has extra costs to animate, but both of them strike me as fairly touch-starved people who are too self-restrained on that front to express it, and I would love to see them be more physically affectionate. I don't think she's ready for the commitment of a romantic relationship yet and also she's aroace fr Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): This one is kinda complicated because I think the writers have a pretty good grasp on the characters personalities when writing and translating lines. I've seen a few fan translations of the original Chinese lines and titles and while I can understand why you want to do that I also know that like translation takes a lot of time and are never going to be perfect due to cultural differences and such, and perceptions of characters are going to be shaped by the regional translations. That said I didn't care that much for Shogun's first story quest. Favourite Friendship: Yun Jin and Xinyan! Even outside of shipping them romantically I think they'd be besties. Also Chongyun and Xingqiu Character I most identify with: The way I had to run through a mental list of characters to answer this question. Childe I think though Character I wish I could be: Diluc or Albedo. They are just so gender.

Diluc (Claymore) - he is just so gaaah! Hard shell - soft heart kinda guy.

Zhongli (Polearm) - hello there, sir *blushes* (nr. 2)

Yanfei (Catalyst) - she is just super fun to play and I like her personality a lot! Shoutout to my C12 Yanfei.

Yoimiya (Bow) - I don't have her but I really enjoy her playstyle, it's fast and you don't really need to charge shots, which is what bothers me with bow the most. Not the biggest fan of the charge shot playstyle, so Yoi is perfect there. Also been enjoying Yelan because of her instant shot passive because of that.

31) Character you want as a sibling.

That may come as a surprise but - Childe. Despite his... tendencies he loves his family more than anything and it's obvious how much he cares for them and has their best interest in mind. I think he'd be a lovely brother. So, Childe it is!

32) Character you want as a BFF

Hands down Thoma and Ayaka (I'll be a rebel and name two, but since they basically come as a duo anyway...). They'd be so fun to just hang out with and chat with, play some hotpot together. They seem like people you could trust with anything and who'd always be there for you no matter what. (another plus for them is that they could also get me in contact with Ayato if you know what I'm saying *cough cough*)

I can confirm, I am also obsessed with certain characters, and I'm sure all your readers understand XD I don't usually go out of my way to read anything about Diluc and Kaeya, I'm kind of neutral on them, and I absolutely ATE UP your fics of them!! I'm glad you enjoyed the undesirable caretaker prompt! Toying with Kafka and Stelle's relationship is really interesting to me because like obviously Kafka's done tons of not good things, even to Stelle, but it's still obvious she really cares??? Dying for more on what the fuck is going on there because Of Course her companion quest gave some really interesting bits but they can't Go anywhere because they're stuck in "not everyone saw this" hell and im >< but I want to see Stelle react to it, I want to hear her talk to other people about Im- going to have to find fanfic eventually.

Anyway, digressing a little, something about that concept and dynamic is just so much fun. Kafka, constantly hiding things, definitely incredibly dangerous, and how soft she can be towards Stelle/Caelus. I'll probably write more in their direction eventually. But Kafka's voice is ... something. I'll have to decide where to go with the next one.

as for the first part! it's funny bc like I obsessively read every cynari (etc) fic that crosses my space anymore and want more so like I'm well versed in "I want more like this but Slightly Different" but any time I find myself writing too many versions of the same arrangements I'm like "....... oops people are probably getting annoyed by now"

on the other hand this IS more or less what I expected when I started doing Hoyoverse for the event prompts because I resisted genshin specifically for actual years (because the Fandom did and still kinda does scare me) but like with the dull awareness from people I follow that I would absolutely adore the Diluc & Kaeya dynamic based on what I absorbed by osmosis. And then I started playing star rail and slowly just started collecting hoyo games (glances at HI3 and Genshin ... -shrugs-)

"Sheesh! Your mind always knows how to keep a good three steps ahead." Thoma wields an amused smile, hands raised in surrender as the tcg game comes to a close. Their match was a thrilling one, tensed faces, decisive card pulls, not to mention a good laugh at mishaps shared before Kaeya swung in with the victorious finish. "Y'know.. this makes our 6th game back to back, if I didn't know any better, I think everyone would be half convinced we'd be playing till morning." There was a mischievous invitation in those words, it's clear how much fun he's had to just be with his friend, how amiable conversation and nostalgic days hardly left silence between them. Besides that? It was just nice to see Kaeya have a good laugh.

Well, he certainly hadn't expected to run into Thoma again -- had not even expected to hear the name again for the rest of his life. He'd always... assumed the worst, after that day when Thoma disappeared from Mondstadt and then years had gone by with no contact at all. But then he'd popped back into town with Lumine, having apparently spent all this time across the sea in Inazuma of all places. Long story short, he'd convinced Thoma to play cards with him while they caught up.

With half a grin crossing his face, and delighted with his victory, Kaeya leaned back slightly, setting his cards down on the table. “You're not half bad yourself. Of course, I've had some time to put my deck together.”

This was how it used to be. Him, Thoma, Jean, Diluc, and little Barbara tagging along after the older kids -- it used to be easy and light-hearted and it had been so easy, back then, to forget about that rainy night when his father dumped him here. To forget about Khaenri'ah and the reason why he always wore a patch over his eye.

It hadn't lasted. Those days and that innocence was long-gone, dusty and left-behind like the belongings he'd had at the winery the night that Master Crepus died.

But it was nice to pretend, for an afternoon.

How they kiss you for the first time

This is the first time I’m writing for the genshin boys please don’t mind if they appear ooc, I haven't played the game that long yet

Part 1 - Part 2

Diluc: Diluc is a fairly stoic and composed man most of the time, but I’d like to believe that the first kiss you have with him would be very passionate. The two of you would have had a thing for a while but neither of you had been brave enough to confess so you just skirted around the topic. That was until one day you kept teasing him about something especially flustering and he could feel his face heat up. This was it for Diluc, he couldn’t hold back anymore; “fuck it” he mumbled to himself and grabbed your chin with one hand and holding your lower back with the other, bringing you closer to him before forcefully (but respectfully!) finally smashing his lips against yours, and you both sighed into the kiss, finally getting the pleasure you both had wished for for weeks. 

Itto: This guy is wild and full of energy so your first kiss would probably be like that as well. I imagine it would also come as a surprise to both of you. Maybe he just won a hard Onikabuto beetle battle and you had been there to support him, so when he finally wins the both of you jump into a hug before he just casually pulls you in and gives you a big kiss smack on the lips.  The both of you pull away looking at each other surprised about what had just happened before, clearly flustered but both also having enjoyed what had just happened. Itto being the lovely dumb himbo that the is would probably just ask if “you wanted to do that again?” while breaking into a giant smile, and how could you say no to the one and oni when he was looking at you like that?

Keaya: Your first kiss with Kaeya is fairly sensual. Despite being a massive flirt most of the time he wants to do this right with you, so you best believe that this guy will take his time. He would have flirted with you for a while before making any moves, and he would probably find the perfect moment to kiss you. Imagine it’s night time and you are looking out over Mondstadt with him, just looking at the stars together while talking and having fun. At some point you laugh at something he said and then just give him a big smile and it’s like something just clicked in his head and he can’t hold back anymore. You look at each other and can both just feel that the moment is right, so you both lean in for a long and passionate kiss, not breaking away from each other for a while. 

Tartaglia: Sweet. That’s all I gotta say. Most of the time this dude is sleek and full of energy but under all those Fatui harbinger layers there’s 100% a sweet and caring guy hiding inside. Maybe you and him had planned to hang out or something like that, but he had to miss it because of some urgent Fatui stuff. When he finally comes back in the evening he’s super sorry and in general is in a sad mood because he thinks that you’re gonna hate him and that you’re gonna realise that he will never be enough for you. After assuring him that you still like him and that you will always care about him he finally gives you the kiss that you’ve been longing for. It’s sweet and full of reassurance that no matter what happens, the two of you will always have each other.

Zhongli: I believe your very first kiss with him would be fairly short and cute. He would probably take you out on a date first (and actually remember to bring his mora wow) because he wanted to do things properly. I canon him to be a romantic at heart that would do all the classic romantic stuff when he was trying to court you. Zhongli is a very respectful and composed man, so he would probably ask you if he could kiss you first before doing anything. After you’ve confirmed that he’s allowed to, he would probably grab your chin with one of his hands and bring your face closer to his before meeting your lips in a short and sweet kiss. Then the two of you would pull away, look at each other and smile, and then go back in for a more sensual and longer kiss.

Hi again!!! :D o/ SADFSDFSDFASFSDF that's very fair :D Diluc is a good lad. I do not have any Genshin/anime crushes really. I think i've maybe had like... 2??? In the past??? But usually my favorite characters aren't crushes!! They're just the characters I think are neat for various reasons. :D DSFSDFSDFASFSDFSDFASFASDF albedo is a good bean :] Funnily enough I know so many people who like albedo SDFSDFSDFSADFSF I think The Thoma Ragbros headcanon has the potential to be so so much fun. I'd love to see a deep fic about it honestly. Thoma coming back to the ruins of Diluc and Kaeya's relationship could have some FANTASTIC angst. Especially if both of them were still really good friends with Thoma. I can Imagine Thoma would be very sad about it ;;v;; AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YEAH, one of the hallmarks of my favs is that I put them through a lot of pain xD so I am very much shaking your hand there AHAHAHAHA HOnestly yes. There's at least one jab at Kaeya specifically in the first quest Dainsleif shows up in (i've started playing the game back in like May, but I'd watched a lot of quests on Youtube before that, so I knew it was the first Dainsleif quest) On top of the fact that they're the only two Khaenri'ahns. I think maybe it might be a red haring? But like, I do think it's likely that there's some connection between the two of them. On a purely Technical level I'm pretty sure I count as maining Kaeya? xD I don't have Diluc (sadge) and I got Zhongli recently. But Kaeya's pretty much always in my party unless a Talent/Weapon/Artifact Domain doesn't gel well with his Element. He's a good lad and I love having him around, he sparks joy. :D Still a little sick unfortunately SDFSDAFSDFSDFSD but i've been able to still complete a lot of stuff despite that, which is nice :D AW no worries! Like Diluc, Xiao can't put a name to his feelings.

He has never been close to mortals, even the other followers don't know much about him. Ganyu will tell you that he is a bit scary and bossy.

He was, in your early days, a cold and distant man, avoiding you like the plague whenever you were around. But he got to know you, no longer running away from you or chasing you, becoming more than fond of your gentleness, your patience and your kindness.

You were good with him, very, very good. You could make him talk, make him smile and sometimes he even laughed (don't dream either, it's a very rare phenomenon, enjoy it.)

He had his own ways of showing you his affection. First of all, he would answer your questions about him, telling you for example about his tattoo: "My tattoo? It represents an illuminated beast related to my original form." Or accompanying you on your outings around town, claiming to want to get to know you better.

You were supposed to go to Qingce village to run an errand. Xiao offered to accompany you to protect you from the dangers on your way.

You had arrived at Qingce Village, escorted by Xiao. He followed you silently, discreetly scanning the villagers as they went about their daily chores. Some children were playing a game of cat and mouse, one chasing his two friends. They soon found themselves zigzagging around your legs and then Xiao's, who froze like a statue when one of them grabbed his pants to hide. You could clearly see the tension rising in his face, you knew that this could herald an outburst of anger that he would inevitably regret later. Xiao loved children but his nature prevented him from bonding with them so, to divert his attention you grabbed his face between your hands:

"Xiao, calm down."

Your smile and voice instantly calmed the yaksha. The three children had stopped playing, watching the scene with bright eyes.

"Ah lovers!" shouted one of the children.

"Lovers! Mommy look!" shouted a second, looking at his mother not far away.

"Well, what a lovely couple you two make. Don't mess with them kids."

This was too much for Xiao, who was redder and hotter than a fire flower. He released your hands from his face, lifting you up in his arms to disappear in a gust of wind, getting you away from here as quickly as possible. Stupid human! He glanced down at your form clinging tightly to his top, too frightened by the yaksha's quick, abrupt movements. He growled to himself, tightening his arms around you. His heart was pounding hard in his chest. Lovers? Couple? It was all foreign to him, but he didn't mind the idea...

Venti

Venti can immediately recognize the signs of budding love. Although he was not originally a human, living with humans for a long time taught him to feel and love like one.

He was extremely attached to you, following you around whenever he saw you.

He is an extravagant and protective boy, who did not hesitate to play petty tricks on those who would do you harm.

As soon as he sees you, he immediately runs to you, throwing himself into your arms and rubbing his cheek against yours.

Venti is naturally smiling and happy. A facet that he likes to show to those around him. Once, just once, you caught him with an expression of infinite sadness. You sat down beside him without a word and wrapped him in a soft embrace. He never explained to you the reason for his grief... or at least not yet. After he recovered, he lovingly placed a bird feather in your hair.

That day you walked him back to town, hand in hand.

Your hand was soft, warm and so small in his. He couldn't help but look at your hands linked together with a big smile. He was so grateful to you for not pestering him with questions for his behavior. He loved you so much that if he could, he would never let go of your hand.

"Ah Venti look at that stall! The apples look so good."

You pulled him over to the stand, looking greedily at the fruit on display there. Venti brought out his wooden lyre, beginning to strum a few strings.

"You won't get me this time the bard! You pay with moras!"

"Eeeh~ so mean! you hear that (y/n), he doesn't like my music."

"That's not what I said!"

"Of course it is, so cruel~"

You laughed happily as you saw the merchant lose his patience with Venti who was having fun teasing him. You gently shook his hand before buying four beautiful apples. You immediately shared them with Venti, which didn't escape the curious gaze of the merchant's wife as she emerged from the store's storeroom.

"Ara~ What a lovely couple you make! Honey, why aren't you a little more like this?"

Your blushing face deepened as Venti wrapped his arms around your neck.

"You hear that (y/n), we both make a great couple haha." You looked at him, surprised and shocked as he placed a tender kiss on your cheek. The merchant, more than a little annoyed yelled at you to leave. Venti had then grabbed your wrist, walking away from the trouble laughing.

Past sorrows were now crowded out by his celebrating heart.

Albedo

Albedo had learned everything from books. His curiosity led him to read about a wide variety of subjects and he realized that his heart was set on you and only you.

Although he is often caught up in his experiences, Albedo likes to take some time to do some sketches of you.

Usually reclusive and aloof with others, you have managed to punch a hole in every wall he has built.

Your intelligence and zest for life always amazed him, although he never doubted your qualities. What surprised him most of all was the talent you had to put him at ease on all the subjects of discussions you launched.

Albedo being what he is, he sometimes asked you to be his test subject, which allowed him to spend more time with you...

You were the only one who was really interested in him. You asked him questions about what he liked and what he hated. At first, he found it hard to understand your interest in him, but this incomprehension faded when the same curiosity won him over.

Ever since he confessed his love of sweet desserts, you were happy to bring him some from time to time to his lab.

"Albedo!"

Albedo was no longer surprised by your sudden intrusions into his lab. He was never against it anyway, the only thing that really scared him was that you would hurt yourself with one of the products displayed all over the room. When he saw the little pastel pink box in your hands, he quickly knew what your reason for being here was.

"I bought two lemon cheesecakes, I hope you like them."

"Thank you (y/n). You can set up in the living room next door, I'll join you as soon as I finish tidying up."

You nodded briskly before leaving. Albedo put away ( too hastily, he recognized) the vials on the rack. By the time you had entered the research room, he had been thinking about you for over an hour, wondering how he could invite you to have dinner with him. A smile lit up his usually expressionless features...

He quickly joined you, taking a seat beside you. You had prepared plates and spoons, carefully placing the cake in the center. Albedo didn't fail to thank you before sticking his spoon into the cheesecake. You could see the pleasure on his face, which you found so much more expressive today than when you first met him. You were laughing to yourself.

"Why are you laughing? Did I do something funny?"

"No. I just think you're cute."

Unusually, Albedo blushed. He silently continued eating his dessert until your hand appeared in his field of vision.

"Wait don't move."

You had wiped the cream stuck in the corner of his lips just as one of Albedo's assistants opened the living room door.

"Oh! Forgive me for the intrusion master Albedo..."- said his assistant shyly.

"Ah! What a lovely couple you make! Too cute - exclaimed the second assistant who was hidden behind the first one, the older one didn't waste time to give him a pat on the head. He quickly apologized before dragging him out of the room.

You couldn't hide the redness on your face, fidgeting with embarrassment in your seat. You were afraid of Albedo's reaction, yet you shyly looked up at him. He was staring at you intently with his usual calm expression. Ouch, was he angry because of the intimate gesture you had made earlier?

"Are you free tonight? For... dinner?"

Huh? Eeh? Eeeh?! Had Albedo really just asked you out on a date? The heat on your cheeks intensified, almost making you sweat.

"If you don't want to I'll understand." -He said, keeping a stoic face, nevertheless you could pick up the nervousness hidden in his voice.

"Yes I do!" - You abruptly stood up from your chair, almost knocking it over.

"Arg, what an idiot! He's not asking you to marry him either..." you thought, tears of shame appearing in the corners of your eyes.

You heard the faint sound of laughter, forcing you to look up from your hands that you had been using to camouflage your condition.

Albedo laughed, both in relief and in simple happiness. He was sure now, you were what he missed in his life...
