DINE 'N CRIME: EL PRESIDENTE (CONTAINS ALCOHOL)

This recipe is part of the menu of 'Chez Molerat vs Dine 'n Crime’.

Ingredients: - Any lemon soda (ex: Sprite, 7up or Crystal clear). - Hpnotiq or Blue Curaçao - Crushed ice(cubes) - Tajin mild hot sauce (preferred) or honey or corn syrup - Tajin clasico seasoning - Granulated sugar, Lime, Orange and Chili pepper for garnish. Instructions: - On a plate, pour a little bit of the Tajin mild hot sauce (for this photo I used honey because the hot sauce was out of stock). - Take your glass and dip the rim into the sauce, make circular motions so the sauce is evenly distributed on the rim. - On a different plate sprinkle a generous amount of the Tajin clasico seasoning and carefully dip the sauce covered rim of the glass into the seasoning. TIP: Go against waste and dip some fresh fruits (ex: pineapples, melons or mangoes) into the left over Tajin. - Once the entire rim is covered, place the glass into the freezer to chill. While you're waiting for the glass to chill, go and wash the lime, orange and chili pepper. - Slice the lime and dip it into a small bowl of granulated sugar to make it all glittery. - Peel a bit of the orange peel to make a cute ruffle. - Slice bits of chili pepper. You can choose to leave in the seeds or not. - After half an hour to an hour, take the glass out of the freezer. - Add crushed ice or ice cubes. - Pour in the Hpnotiq (or if you don't have that, blue curaçao) into the glass. Depending on how strong you want it add more or less. - Pour in some lemon soda of your choice. For this I used Crystal Clear Lemon Cactus. - Garnish with the fruits and chili pepper.

NOTE: If you use Hpnotiq for this recipe, you don't have to necessarily use lemon soda per se. You can drink Hpnotiq as is with ice. There's also a 'Sparkle Liquor' variant of Hpnotiq. The lemon soda is just there for tingly sparkle mouth feel and to make it less strong and more palatable for those who might not like the taste of Hpnotiq. Aside from that, other blue liquors are also welcome as long as it has some citrus-y taste. For example: I've got Puschkin Ice Mint on my desk but I wouldn't combine that with the tajin and lime... that's like, brushing your teeth and drinking orange juice directly afterwards kinda vibe. Yes it tastes like mouth wash, it feels illegal to drink it, but I love that fresh minty flavor.
