I made a chart because I wanted to see this all laid out in one handy view instead of needing to click toggles to sort through information.

I'll update when we know more about Sigewinne, Emilie and Clorinde. I'm definitely jumping the gun and calling Arlecchino a DPS, so if I'm wrong I'll update that too in a later post (I'll reply to this one, so check comments I guess if you're seeing this original).

If you don't agree with the utility I posted for a character....well, just mentally change it, I'm not here to debate lol. I'm just going by basic meta. Some of the combo utilities are "they're both" and some are "they can be used in either capacity" and you'll just have to sort those out on your own. And yes, some of the support or sub dps units hit like trucks, that doesn't change their classification.

Drawing a Liyue character every day until CNY day 4: Chongyun!

Relationships I like with him in:

-Chongyun and Shenhe

-Chongyun and Diona

-Chongyun and Xiao

(Chongyun doesn’t really get much interactions with characters other than Xingqiu, but it isn’t the same for Xingqiu. I do like the two together but I wish Chongyun had more onscreen interaction with others. And more onscreen time full stop lol)

Things I like about this character: what is there not to love? Chongyun is one of my favourite 4* characters and I was over the moon when I got him :). His excessive yang energy is a really interesting (and potentially angsty) plot device, and also can serve as a metaphor for real-life conditions. I can relate to him a lot, especially his gullibility and passion/over-enthusiasm in what he does… (aka Chongyun is hella autistic coded). I also just think that his character design & fighting style is very cool and I like his idle animations.

Meta stuff: C6-ed. I have tried making him a dps many times, and he’s pretty strong but not strong enough to be a main dps. Xingqiu and him have pretty good synergy, but Xingqiu has good synergy with pretty much every character, so poor Chongyun is benched a lot. Again, he’d be a lot better with a 5* crit claymore which I do not own. Perhaps once I get Shenhe, I can make a cracked freeze team with him~

HCs: I haven’t really got any headcanons for him, everything I enjoy about his character is canon already. I would really like to see what his wider family (or even just his parents) are like and how they treat him and his ‘congenial positivity’, especially if it’s different to how Shenhe treats him. I also wonder what Xingqiu’s parents think of Chongyun and vice versa.

I am cringe but I am free

By which I mean here are my Survive kids with Genshin weapons and visions hcs

Takuma is the main character and therefore he is the avatar, he has all the elements. He'd be a sword wielder, and like Traveler he can be a support or dps depending on the element. He's best as a pyro dps.

Minoru is a pyro sword. Survive's very own Bennett (absolutely busted support/sub dps). Attack buffs and elemental infusion. He'd have a passive talent to increase movement speed during the day like Dehya.

Kaito is ALSO pyro but a catalyst. But like a catalyst specifically in the way that Shikanoin Heizou is a catalyst. Meaning that instead of casting fireball he just punches you in the face with a flame-covered fist. Ooooh he'd have a mechanic that uses charged attacks to switch between elemental and physical damage so he can still fight enemies immune to pyro. First ever phys dmg catalyst XD 100% on-field main dps, does more damage if his hp is in the red. His fourth constellation is a shield.

Miu is an electro claymore. I like when tiny people have big weapons. Also the mental image of Kaito constantly being stressed out by her swinging a giant sword around is funny to me. Debuffer with a summon/taunt like Mona. Her damage scales on defense instead of attack. Passive talent increases party members' def by a percentage of her own.

Ryo is a cryo archer. Off-field dps who specializes in cryo application to set up reactions for the others. Party members within the cryo field he creates get elemental mastery boost. His C6 has an insane party-wide crit damage boost. Basically the midpoint between Diona and Faruzan.

Shuuji is a hydro polearm. Very similar role to Xingqiu imo. Minor def and healing, big damage boost. Off-field dps. Despite being hydro instead of electro his kit revolves around energy recharge (also like Mona).

Aoi is an anemo catalyst and healer. If you build her right it's just infinite heals, your team is functionally immortal. Her ult is good for crowd control like Venti or Sucrose and her passive talent is doubling the yield when cooking healing foods.

Saki...dendro bow. S++ tier dendro application for reactions (does this make her best teammates Shuuji and Miu?) primarily a sub dps but her ult is like Qiqi's where it inflicts a debuff on enemies that lets her allies heal themselves by attacking the enemies with the debuff.

Akiharu...geo sword. I wanted to say catalyst or polearm at first but I think he should have a sword to mirror Takuma. Shielder/off-field dps like Zhongli. Passive talent has a chance to double talent books when crafting.

Miyuki...I'm trying so hard not just say electro catalyst like Yae Miko because haha kitsune shrine maiden. I'm gonna say geo polearm instead. Buffer/dps who uses summons like Furina who can also heal by sacrificing her own hp like Shinobu.

Siren: Arataki Itto, diona(c6), any other supporting character (specifically for co-op) ; i feel like he would be the healer or defense unit and wouldn’t care about damage.

He’d has like incredible luck and hasnt lost a single 50/50

(He’d also find itto HILARIOUS and main him just because)

Kappa: YOIMIYA, furina, xiao; for no reason other than I HAVE A FEELING. (Likes them either emo or really energetic)

Nethimir: ei,rosaria, arlecchino; would say shes in it for the damage (she just thinks the characters look really cool)

Mono: ayaka, nahida, lynette; polite and gentle characters (she goes by aesthetic and doesnt care about dmg)

Mucku: every single character c6 r5, you cant tell me she wouldnt be a total whale (she shares her account with everyone)

And clorinde when she comes out probs

Galoo: sayu, ganyu, mona; (she focuses on exploration and quests. Aka, a lore player)

Nee: ALSO A WHALE BUT GOES BY AESTHETIC! Would adore furina though

djfklsjkldjsffjfdk i have been waiting for this question for MONTHS. i have several.

exploration: either wanderer + barbara + venti + ei or aether + bennett + venti + wanderer. either way ameno renosence is an absolute must.

combat v.1: wanderer + barbara + nahida + yae miko. i'm thinking of pulling for childe and putting together a real hyper-bloom team, but that really depends on the luck of the gacha gods y'know.

combat v.2: eula + diona + xiangling/dehya + ganyu. i have ganyu built as a melt dps, but a freeze build is in the works for her and i'm hoping that'll give eula a physical damage bonus bc she's wonderful and i love her <3

'just get it over with': ei + barbara + nahida + yae miko. i'm absolutely reliant on nahida and yae miko would be on my main team whether or not she actually did damage, but i really cannot overstate how well they work together omg. and the electro damage is just,,,, to die for. i'm a bit too reliant on them tho, and i really want to see if ei would work as a good burst dps on a team with ganyu, so there are plans in-work to free me of my electro-mommy reliance. i hate to break up a married couple but if i don't beat floor 12 of the spiral abyss soon, i think i may actually eat my pc. y'know, for catharsis.

Hu Tao is definitely the more talkative one of the group, she likes talking to Xiao and how "Ooh! You know Mr. Zhongli too?"

Raiden can't cook.. but it's a good thing you have Diona so at least you'll have some amazing drinks

Overall, despite your team’s differences I think they bond over exploring and eating/cooking

Their favourite thing to do is fishing since Diona and Hu Tao like eating fish, Xiao is warming up to try Grilled Ticker Fish, and though Raiden likes sweets more, seafood is not uncommon in Inazuma

Fishing takes time and patience, but the four are not short tempered when it comes to this so it ends up being fun

Diona is a little tsundere when it comes to affection, but after being on your team for so long she’ll only tolerate hugs from you

When exploring or camping out, she likes to go out and find ingredients with you

Xiao feels a bit strange working in a team and since it’s usually just him defeating monsters

Xiao is the first one to step in front of you to protect you from any danger, and tells you to be careful when going out (he won’t admit it but he cares for you a lot)

Hu Tao loves being on your team and is very excited with exploring with you and new people

More killing enemies = more clients for Hu Tao

Raiden is quite intimidating when she first comes on the team

But she definitely wants to get along, she likes spending time with her new friends

Let's build a freeze team for Ayaka!

Hello everyone! I'm back now so I can start posting again :D

Before I get into it, yes I did change the banner lol. I just wanted to switch things up for a bit, I hope u like it!!

Anyways, with Ayaka's rerun currently ongoing, I wanted to make a guide for anybody who just got her and is a bit confused on her teams. Let's get into it!!

╰┈➤ why does Ayaka need freeze? You might have noticed that almost every Ayaka team is a Freeze team. There are 2 main reasons for this. The first is that, to maximize the damage of her burst by allowing it to always hit an enemy, enemies must be kept stationary via Freeze. The second is that Ayaka applies Cryo waaaay to fast with her burst to allow her to reliably trigger Melt reactions

╰┈➤ basic team outline Ayaka freeze teams usually follow this outline: ❀ Ayaka ❀ Anemo character on 4pc Viridescent Venerer ❀ Cryo battery (creates Cryo particles to supply energy) ❀ Hydro character for Freeze

╰┈➤ Anemo options ❀ Kazuha ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ The best option and usually the go-to. Kazuha provides Elemental damage bonus along with great grouping and his own personal damage ❀ Venti ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Great grouping and personal damage ❀ Jean ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Can consolidate the healer role which is useful in some teams. Great healer choice w/ Furina ❀ Sucrose ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Some grouping, Elemental DMG buff at C6. Works well enough as a substitute. Can run Thrilling Tales of Dragon slayers to give Ayaka lots of attack

╰┈➤ Cryo options ❀ Shenhe ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ The best option and usually the go-to. Provides buffs to Cryo damage along with Cryo resistance shred and elemental Burst damage ❀ Charlotte ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Consolidates a healer role but should really only be used in Furina teams ❀ Diona ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Can consolidate the healer role along with providing a shield ❀ Rosaria ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Good personal damage, buffs Crit Rate which can be useful to reach certain stat thresholds for Ayaka ❀ Ganyu ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Very strong personal damage from Burst. Decent Cryo damage buff and can share some field time. Works well in teams with Venti ❀ Kaeya ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Great budget option who provides tons of energy via Cryo particles. Good personal damage

╰┈➤ Hydro options ❀ Kokomi ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Usually the go-to option. Great AoE Hydro application that doesn't require normal attacking. Great healing. Can run Tenacity of the Millileth and Thrilling Tales of Dragon slayers to provide tons of Attack to Ayaka. ❀ Mona ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Hydro Application from skill has a much smaller AoE than Kokomi. Burst gives a large damage boost. Can run TTDS ❀ Furina ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Great Hydro application that doesn't require normal attacking. Incredible personal damage. Requires an all-party healer such as Charlotte or Jean. Furina teams can kinda be considered a different arychetype of Ayaka teams. ❀ Xingqiu ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Provides some defensive capability but requires normal attacking to apply Hydro which can make the team feel awkward ❀ Yelan ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Very strong personal damage but requires normal attacking. Passive can provide a damage boost to Ayaka ❀ Ayato ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Hydro application from burst has a very large AoE and good damage. Works very well with Venti. Can also share some field-time with his own DPS. ❀ Barbara ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Budget option. Good healing but her Hydro application is quite awkward. Can run TTDS.

╰┈➤ premium team Ayaka's best (non-Furina) freeze team is also referred to as her "premium" team because it uses all limited 5 stars. Here's a quick overview of their builds ❀ Ayaka ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ 4PC Blizzard Strayer. Mistsplitter's Reforged/Amenoma Kageuchi/Finale of the Deep ❀ Shenhe ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ 4PC Noblesse Oblige. Calamity Queller/Favonius Lance ❀ Kazuha ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ 4PC Viridescent Venerer. Freedom-sworn/Xiphos' Moonlight/Favonius Sword/Iron Sting ❀ Kokomi ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ 4PC Tenacity of the Millileth. Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (TTDS)

╰┈➤ premium team vs. Furina The Furina variant of Ayaka teams (usually Kazuha/Furina/Charlotte) seems to preform similarly to the premium team (Shenhe/Kazuha/Kokomi)

╰┈➤ issues to look out for Ayaka's teams have 2 main issues 1 ・❥・ Many enemies in recent abyss cycles are immune to freeze 2 ・❥・ Without enough ER%, Her teams can feel kinda bad to play

Tell me a team composition that you love, but would have meta players raving, flaming, and crucifying you for.

For this blog, I define "meta" as the "most effective tactic available." In Genshin's case, ways to clear Abyss with 36 stars the fastest way possible and teams that cause the most damage. These teams are often repetitive across accounts, such as Raiden National (Raiden, Xingqiu, Bennet, and Xiangling) or Morgana (Ganyu, Mona, Diona, and Venti).

Much like my previous blog, I will not reply back to any comments. My purpose for this blog is to learn how others have fun with their Genshin teams.

This is a free/"safe" space to rant, but remain courteous and respectful in the comments section to others and me. Please. I will not tolerate anyone who wants to have an argument, be a snarky bitch, or give unsolicited "advice." I will block those involved.

Example, ofc, offered below the cut:

Old photo, Shinobu is now lvl 90. Anyway, my Kavetham team is the one I get the most backlash for. While it does have meta qualities, Xingqiu + Kuki + Dendro = Hyperbloom, the metaslaves cry so hard that I put the Kaveh and Alhaitham together.

"Kaveh and Alhaitham don't work together."

"They have no "synergy.""

"That's not enough dendro application."

"They're like lathering mayonnaise onto a CPU."

No. They're not "mayonnaise" and a "CPU" or water and oil. They are two Dendro units that provide dendro resonance, can be major powerhouses alone, but even more dangerous together.

I made it work.

Kaveh made it to Abyss floor 11, chamber 3. If they were all fully built, they would be MENACES. The best built is Kaveh at C2R5, Talents 6/7/9, artifacts lvl 20. Everyone else is still a WIP, low talent levels, artifacts lvl 0-5, and weapons lvl 20-80.

My rotation:

¹ Alhaitham's skill and burst (or just skill, if his burst isn't up)

² Xingqiu's skill or burst for hydro application

³ Kaveh's burst and skill to detonate the cores and apply more dendro

⚡️ Shinobu is there to be the responsible one(/hj, the healer) that makes sure the boys don't get killed and she applies quickening and hyperbloom. Kaveh is more or less self-sufficient with his passive and can keep himself alive.

Although Kaveh is my dendro main, I switch between Kaveh and Alhaitham as I see fit. To make it less meta, Xingqiu and Shinobu can actually be replaced with double hydro (ex. Mona and Barbara) or Hydro+Zhongli, because gods forbid Alhaitham takes damage from his own cores.

It works if you rotate it right, but no one wants to put in the extra work to figure it out. The meta creates a close-minded set of builds, and it's filled with people who just want those giant crit numbers. I don't deny the meta characters, teams, and builds do great damage, but the metaslaves so often claim their unwarranted "advice" is just "worry for the team's functionality," like "I asked if my Kaveh build was good, not if Kaveh and Alhaitham had "synergy."

On a silly little note, I have decided to build DPS Noelle and QiQi, both characters that have been tossed aside by the meta. I'm so excited to build them.

I've asked this on Hoyolab a few times in BottleMi but the response was tepid. Only 3 brave souls decided to share their thoughts. I saw two teams of full DPS units and a Yoimiya main who said "any Yoimiya team" (they didn't elaborate further).

• Cartman whales his way into getting good characters but has mid builds and bad luck.

• Kenny has a surprisingly good team due to monitoring leaks and farming free primogems. Lisa main. Doesn’t care about meta this is a boob-based team also featuring Jean Rosaria and Beidou but his builds are good. Spiral Abyss god, always getting called in for reinforcement on co-op but then everyone gets mad cuz he’s lagging like crazy. Shares his account with Karen so she can run around collecting things and doing character hangouts as her fave character since the level of dedication it took kenny to get that many of them for free is insane.

• Kyle absolutely gets sucked in. His team is alright, he gets bored farming artifacts and mats pretty easily so he really only goes for it if he’s trying to show off to someone. Favorites are based on a combination of design and lore. Constantly complaining to stan about the excessive dialogue and inability to skip conversations because he wants the lore but knows he’s getting it in such an unoptimized way.

• Stan was never really as into it as the other three he just went along with it cuz those are his friends. Was kind of glad when everyone fell off the bandwagon. His teams are like all dudes and one token girl he’s totally not compensating for any insecurity he has.

• Butters runs dps barbara. And sometimes it works, angering everyone. Fischl kinnie, she’s on his usual exploration team along w Diona.

Rearranging some teams today! And by that I mean "collapsing a bunch together to make space for new test/character-building ones." I would love if Hoyo would give us more than ten slots, but since they won't....

Liyue Children has always been a highly flexible team (the full roster for it is Ningguang, Shenhe, Keqing, Xiangling, Chongyun, Xingqiu, and Xinyan, with intent to add... pretty much all the other Liyue characters as flexes as I build them), and Meltin' Medley and Icebreakers were both variants on it that I used so consistently, back when I only had Liyue characters built, that I just gave them their own teams. Drama Club has already mostly replaced Icebreakers and I haven't actually used Meltin' Medley even before I got my Jean teams put together and started maining them (I was keeping it out of nostalgia because it was my first super-hard-hitting, easily-clear-bosses, when-I-want-to-win-fights-fast team), so they can easily collapse back into the larger team now.

I debated collapsing the Favonius Family, because I swap pretty consistently between Jean's Harem and Favonius Freezer the most in overworld these days, but that's only two characters to change out, and it does free up more space. Besides, I do want to try a Jean/Kaeya/Eula/Barbara variation at some point, and, because of how my brain works, making a flex team makes that easier for me to do without going "oh but that's not how the team is supposed to be," as well as flexing in other Favonius characters as I build them (thinking mostly of Mika, but Eula and Albedo might be a fun combo too, since her plunging attack hits hard).

Quick-Charge was technically already a flex team with my Burgeon variants, I mostly just use it as-is because I don't find Burgeon half as fun as Hyperbloom, so it can remain that way!

I don't know how long-term I'm keeping Drama Club, at least as it is, because I haven't finished building Razor and thus don't know how it plays when he's in the mix, but right now "Oz + Diluc as DPS + Bennett for heals" is a pretty amazing Overload mix, so they get to stay as-is for now. Maybe Diluc will become a consistent Mondstadt children escort--I've been thinking of trying Diona in that team when I eventually build her. It amuses me to imagine the interactions there. :>

I also don't know how long I'll keep Firedance, but right now it's been very fun to play with, flexing various characters in and out (mostly Xinyan, who does a nice backup shield that helps with certain enemies, and Kaeya, whose Favonius Sword recharge isn't just good for Eula but also adds a nice boost to Thoma* when there isn't another Pyro to battery him, but I've tried a few other Pyros and do want to try some other Cryos just to see), and I've been enjoying it on the overworld and against select bosses. Maintaining Thoma's shield and keeping everyone charged is a fun exercise in strategic thinking, and while there's appeal to teams where I just spam buttons in a familiar, well-worn pattern and three seconds later everything is dead, sometimes I like a little bit of a challenge, too!

*I know Thoma's recharge would be better if I gave him the Favonius Lance instead of the Kitain Cross Spear, but. you see. The thing is. He's not in the Ordo Favonius, and I cannot distribute their weapons to anyone not authorized to carry them. >>

(Shogun Loyalists, still intact at the end, is one of those test/character-building teams, some of which I keep when I'm done and some of which I don't; I really want a Sara team so I might, but I suspect I'm just as likely to break it up, and maybe try reforming it with Yae Miko instead of Hat Guy when her banner finally comes around again and see how that works out.)

Introducing my teams Pt3 - Mono Bow

disclaimer: I build my teams mostly based of a certain thematic and just for fun, they are not fully “meta” oriented and while I’m sure they can be improved upon I’m generally happy with the compositions.

Ganyu - Burst Support Yelan - Off-field DPS Childe - Main DPS Diona - Support

The fact that this team started bc I ship Chilyu.... Anyway I wanted Childe and Ganyu together and apparently the way to go is permafreeze combo, at the time I was going to add Xingqiu for sub dps and Diona for double cryo and shield/healing but THEN Yelan was announced and I went "haha what if full archer team?" and here we are.

So yep, permafreeze, everyone supports or boosts the ginger and he goes wild on the field as he likes to do, simple. In the case the fatui menace is on cooldown Ganyu can pick up the slack and DPS by herself rather easily.

Rotation goes Ganyu E -> Ganyu Q -> Yelan Q -> Childe E and go wild -> Childe Q -> Diona E -> Diona Q -> Yelan E

Disco ball Ganyu is still Nuke Ganyu. Her burst lasts so long she's usually ready to go when the first one starts giving 100% uptime on that cryo. Can deploy her flower for some energy or to lure some enemies but doesn't always work that well. //cries in no Amos Bow or Acqua Simulacra Hunter's Path is usually recommended for Melt Ganyu but it's the only 5* I have and it's a crit bow idk, she used to have Viridescent Hunt. One could argue Diona's EM burst buff helps but it's minimal. 2pc Noblesse 2pc Blizzard for that burst and cryo buffs Atk/Cryo/Crit dmg as per usual offensive builds, she just gotta keep that cryo raining down.

Yelan is insanely amazing, seriously, her burst does so much dmg so quick and she's rather fun and easy to use and build. She's mostly a quick Q swap but her skill is incredibly useful also achieving that freeze when the whole field is raining ice, and easily doing 20k per thread. Favo Warbow for energy reasons, she's easily the team's battery with how fast and easy she procs the passive. 4pc Noblesse to boost her burst and other members. HP/Hydro/Crit as she scales off HP and to proc the bow and get those numbers. I'm quite happy with how much HP these pieces give her omg.

Ah yes the war criminal. Comes out to absolutely destroy everything on sight charging wildly and attacking violently, we love to see it. There are SO many blue numbers on screen once this guys starts lashing out with that riptide mechanic and the support of Yelan's and Ganyu's burst is insane. Enemies can't attack you if they can't move, and they all fall down quite easily... Sad crit rate but he never crits anyway, we know that. Rust for raw power being his BiS before Polar Star dropped, 4pc HoD for that sweet sweet hydro and atk bonus tailored for him and Atk/Hydro/Crit as per usual DPS builds. C1 gives me a bit more of leeway with his long cooldown but if anything is even alive by the time he's done the girls can pick up quick.

Let's not kid ourselves, this girl is the backbone of the entire team. Shielding, Healing. Ganyu battery and support. She's got it all. The rest would be dead without her, quite literally. Sac bow for ER and the passive that can allow for an extra shield uptime. 2pc Tenacity 2pc Maidens HP/HP/Healing for those sweet sweet heals. Her burst heals around 7k per tick enough to quickly patch up anyone who needs it (usually childe) while providing a mini version of Ganyu's cryo field that Yelan can use with her threads.

So much blue at once.

I love this team with a passion, they would be so funny to interact together I have lots of headcanons LOL. The 5* are crowned at least once but hey Diona's C6 sooo they're even. They also all have the dragonspine wings bc matchy matchy. Kinda hope to get them better bows one day (Yelan's and Diona's used to be swapped bc sac bow meant free C1 Yelan) but we'll see we'll see.
