Conversation I just had with the person scheduling my therapy (it's at a place that offers disability services so they were asking about that):

Person: oh you're disabled? Were you in a car accident or something?

Me: ah, no, I have a genetic condition that makes my skeleton fall apart

Person: oh geez okay. Do you have to use any mobility aids? Like can you walk?

Me: uhh?? Sometimes? I can walk but not reliably. I can't do anything reliably which is like the whole problem because people don't think of disabilities as being so variable.

Person: wow I don't even think I'd be able to get out of bed, not knowing wether I'd be able to walk or not that day...

Me: oh well I have this pro gamer strategy where laying in bed hurts more the longer I lay there so eventually it will get so painful that I HAVE to get up haha 🙃

There's something that makes you feel so incredibly helpless about being housebound, unable to take part in protests or any kind of direct action, while the atrocities of the world around you continue to grow. I want to do something, need to do something, but there's no place for me in any of it.

this disability pride month i need to finally do the 'Narancia has Dyscalculia' post/meta ive been meaning to do since i first read part five and spesificaly the 'haha hes so bad at maths how could anyone fuck it up that badly' scene, because we need more learning disability representation, and yet we dont get it so i will settle for it being a headcanon, and while i do also agree with the ADHD headcanon, Dyscalculia fits him so fucking well, and given many learning disability's high comorbidity rates with ADHD we can all be happy<3

but im scared of making a fandom meta post bc last time i made one it went... not so well in terms of people interpreting what i was saying well [and that post was also on a character possibly having a learning disability as well, spesificaly having dyslexia, which i have] i will try and be brave tho! i am a staunch Narancia has Dyscalculia truther! there are only like 15 tumblr posts when you search it up and that makes me sad bc hes not stupid his brain just isnt wired to do maths1! like mines not wired to do spelling!! the education system fails us!
