"So disney is okay with traumatizing scenes in their cartoons but not queer people?" i think disney should be okay with both.

This might sound weird, but I want to grow up with Moon Girl.
Now, I am twice Lunella's age and way closer to 30 than I am to 13 at this point in my life. So, I want to explain my statement.
The vast majority of cartoon characters do not age. Take Timmy Turner for example. He's been 10 years old since before I was 10 years old. Which is fine, for the most part he is a chaotic, self-involed child whose show is based on the premise that he never wants to grow up.
Naruto Uzumaki and now Penny Proud are two of a very small group of cartoon characters to age. I think Kim Possible aged as well.
Usually, aging in children's shows is reserved to live action characters played by real actors, because of course, human beings age.
However, I think Lunella is a great character to grow up with. I would love to see her go from 13 to 14 to 15 and so on until the age of 18. I would love to see her character go from middle school to high school, and I'd love to see the show ultimately end with Lunella as a senior in high school over the span of several seasons.
I would love to see her character grow and develop. I would, also, love to she her relationship with Casey and Devil grow and develop, and I would love to see how Lu goes about making new friends.
The reason I feel this way is because Moon Girl already embodies a lot of diversity and tackles complex issues. However, there are some developmental issues that are still a little too advanced for a 13 year old character to take on. One example, is not just dating but LGBT dating. Another example, is learning to get better at making new friends. A last example that I am going to bring up, is a girl learning to navigate her menstrual cycle. To all the guys reading, that's not something that a woman figures out overnight.
I don't feel like aging Lunella is a far stretch, because the show already aged her. Lunella is around 8 years old in the comics, but she is 13 in the show.
I ultimately feel that aging Moon Girl will give the current generation of children a reason to watch Disney Chanel longer instead of transitioning to only watching MTV when they hit 15 or so.

I grew up watching Disney Channel most of my childhood, it shaped several feelings I felt as a child. My experience with television is what drew me to Libby’s post about how much more diverse children’s television is in todays society in comparison to when we were children. I like Libby’s subject matter because it shows a positive way that the Black community has progressed. Black people are now being more appropriately represented in children’s shows, which gives kids messages about diversity band inclusion for all people and races. However, Libby also discussed the negative side to this more diverse tv era, which is that as the audience progresses in age, the television shows became less inclusive and don’t seem to be trying to drive the same message. I hope that this topic begins to be grouchy to light in the entertainment industry so that as children get older, they will learn appropriate representation for Black people, just like other races have.

This got suuuper viral on twitter and I want to share this as well here and let you all know that this is Graham Hamilton 👀👀 and I-
Tumblr media
NOBODY TOLD ME HE LOOKS LIKE THIS?? 👀 THIS WAS BEFORE THE CGI WAS SLAPPED ON HIS FACE. 😮😮
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND BY GOD IF THAT DOESNT LOOK LIKE A YOUNG MARK HAMILL??? THEN WHY REPLACE IT WITH THE SCARY UNCANNY CGI!!
Here are other frame of references:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He looks more like Luke THAN the Luke CGI 😭😭
Bro’s an exact carbon copy. He looks like Disney secretly cloned him Kamino style. Im cryin ya’ll. 😭😂
Here is the most perfect person for the role and Disney said “not enough” and slapped him with unnecessary CGI 😭
His last name is even HAMILton!! What a perfect legacy for Mark Hamill to pass the torch to. Bro was born for this role.
BONUS:
He’s even got the yassified twink vibes that LUKE CHANEL BOOTS SKYWALKER embodies! 💅 He’s so KING! I’m loving it 🤴
Tumblr media
I know we all love Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. (and the originals as well) He is my childhood hero and he will forever be Luke in my heart. No one will ever replace the passion he put in his role.
But it’s been already decades and there is a new generation of new respectable actors and actresses that can give our well beloved characters to life again. Be that or let them be all replaced by capitalistic machines and heartless AI technology. Nothing can ever top the performance and influence of a well-meaning actor putting his heart into a role!
