It’s the Haunted Mansion’s anniversary today!!! The movie has me going back to my old Haunted Mansion brainrot😭😭. I wanted to explore making my own interpretation of the Hatbox Ghost. This isn’t definitive, I’ll probably tweak it in the future but I just love Hatty so much and I figured this would be nice to share for today.

I like to think Constance taking the heads of her husbands is a learned habit. It was, after all, what mother did to father when he threatened to leave them.

‘When a man threatens to turn tail, or has eyes for a younger broad, take his head so he’s yours forever. Don’t let that dog run, Constance. Best to put him down swiftly.”

At least…that’s what Dame Peatcleaver used to tell her young daughter when she allowed her to hold father’s beheaded skull, a hatchet still in his head.

Now that I think about it, Hatbox Ghost is by far one of the worst Disney villains of all time- exclusive to just Disney’s studio. Tried to stick with the movie’s ominous colorgrade. Ah, we love the dark combination!

Currently watching "Haunted Mansion" kinda like it.

But why do you?

well it depends on which one (i think you mean the 2023 film but im not sure)

i like the 2023 film because:

-found family dynamic

-ben is a bisexual he/they change my mind

-owen wilson

-the references to the original ride

-"nah" *grabs child and leaves house*

-danny devito

-deals with a man's (ben's) grief in a surprisingly respectful way and never makes him seem weak for the fact that hes grieving

i like the 2003 movie because:

The Four Brides (Mysfit Manor)

In my mind, there are four Haunted Mansion brides, no more and no less.

From right to left: Constance, Emily, Mélanie, and Kimiko.

These four all have different curses afflicting them that result in their being stuck on earth.

- Constance is cursed with greed and wrath and is therefore wildly violent.

- Emily is Earthbound due to unfinished business and a broken heart.

- Mèlanie isn’t technically dead yet, but is trapped in an eternal damnation loop until she is.

- Kimiko is a vampire due to her vanity and lust for eternal youth in life. Therefore can’t die but is a monster for all eternity.

This took forever to render and finish but I love all of them. 💀🤍 I would love to do a series of small comics with these called Mysfit Manor about them all being stuck together XD
