Picking up where Dragons of Ice left off and continuing the story that was novelized in Dragons of Winter Night, this takes the party from shipwrecking on Ergoth, where Silvanesti and Qualinesti elves have relocated and where the Kagonesti wild elves live, and then escaping the elves with a Dragon Orb to take to the Knights of Solamnia up until being led to the tomb of Huma and learning of the secret of the Dragonlances.
The module is smart enough to allow for the strong possibility that players would have read the novel covering this part of the adventure, so there are several ways in which this deviates from the novel. One of those ways is through the randomization of who is the Silver Dragon Dargent in disguise. In the novels it is Silvara, but because knowing that beforehand would ruin a big twist to the adventure we get a way to make another character be possessed by the Dragon and lead the characters to Huma's tomb.
Other cool things in the module are some great maps and a whole lore section on the Elves of Krynn, which goes through the history of the Silvanesti, Qualinesti, Kagonesti, Dimernesti and Dragonesti elves, some of which we haven't even met yet. This section also lets us know how each sub-race looks and how they generally act and how they relate to other inhabitants of the world, which is pretty invaluable to create Elven NPCs, for example.
spoilers below and im not the best writer to do this:
conclusion? i love this segment of dl7
welcome to another episode of me rambling about the song ever, acanthe but i just wanna point things out about their introductory and ending lines and their choreo in dl7 (might edit this so on)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
introductory and ending lines
- shu says something in french (pourqoi... pourquio ne pas se reveiller
can be tl'd as why, why not wake up) then after that he says in jp "I’ll continue waiting with the Acanthe’s scent until you wake up"
- then they did acanthe
- mika after acanthe says in the lines of “I have woken up, let’s decorate our final with a hope song” then transitions to nightingale
the choreo
- ok here is the thing, for the whole song, it looks like there is an invisible barrier between shu and mika so they are just dancing on one side (shu left mika right from how you watch it)
- because of that invisible barrier, they dont cross eachother or dance as one unit, but dance as individuals doing the same steps and also different steps (mostly)
- also of that said barrier they keep on touching it like they want to see what the other is doing
- excessive eye contact, every second i swear they look at each other especially shu
- mika doesnt feel alive
honorable mentions:
- literally after acanthe and when they performed nightingale they are dancing like a flock of birds and feels more alive
- i love the live instrumental of this sm (you can listen to it here or my tumblr)

DL7 - Dragons of Light (1985) is a bit of a drag because elves are boring. It is kind of nice though because while still event driven, this modules eases off compared to the last few into a fairly open hex crawl and dungeon. Which is inside the giant stone dragon on the cover. Which seems like something that should have happened before 1985, honestly.
