-Dante is a pretty big, pretty buff dude and he knows it.

-He'll tease you by holding things out of your reach, purposely placing things on the top shelf, etc., just to mess with you.

-Sometimes makes you jump for things, treating you like a little struggling puppy.

-Can pick you up and toss you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and he will, regardless of how much you kick and flail.

-He loves picking you up and giving you piggy back rides. Even if it's an extremely childish thing to do, you guys still enjoy it.

-You will have to worry about losing circulation when you're cuddling as his sheer size can completely crush your small frame.

■ Vergil ■

-Vergil torments you with his size, merely because it feeds his ego.

-He likes to watch you struggle to take things from him, wrap your arms all the way around his torso, and so on; it gives him a sick sense of satisfaction.

-He abuses his POWER by secretly placing items in high places when you're not looking, then gloatingly coming to your rescue when you need help that you otherwise wouldn't need had he not been so cruel.

-He definitely smothers you with hugs and crushes you with his weight to make up for that, though.

-He doesn't like carrying you around because he feels ridiculous, but when you beg with your pouty, puppy eyes, he crumbles.

-Ends up toting you around as if you were his child, and because of your size, from afar, people think you are.

□ Nero □

-Nero is big and strong, meanwhile you're small and cute. Nero feels so proud to be your big bad protector.

-He loves lifting you up and twirling you around every time he comes home from missions because it's so easy and it makes you so happy.

-He helps you when you need something from the top shelf, but unlike his father and uncle, he's no tease.

-He controls himself, not at all going power-crazy like his dear old Pops. No, Nero is a gentleman who uses his size to benefit the both of you, not just him.

-Is pretty awkward so he doesnt initiate physical contact much, but once you do, hugs and cuddles will immediately follow.

-Accidentally puts you in a chokehold when he's trying to wrap his arm around you, but don't worry, he doesn't squeeze. Much.

Hello! Dunno if you do headcanons or not, but I have an ask for you. How do you think Dante would behave when he's in a disagreement/fight with his s/o? I see him as a rather conflict avoiding person, tbh. If there's a problem he'll do his best to ignore it and sweep it under the rug. Which is obviously not good, neither for him, nor his partner. So it really takes something special to force him to acknowledge the situation head on, I think.

Also. Do you think he would be first one to apologize afterwards or nah? Or depending on who's wrong? Just gimme some thoughts. Or don't, up to you :)

Dante (DCM5) Headcannons (part 1):

a.n: I think the whole ‘sweeping it under the rug’ behaviour would be the most accurate for him, but here’s some of my own!(i never did headcannons before so apologies if the formatting is weird?)

After a disagreement:

Dante is the first one to leave the argument, either by saying ‘I am not arguing with you right now/about this’, or simply walking away and leaving you talking to yourself

Dante is not a good listener when you share your argument, and rather ignore it completely to avoid stressing about it

Dante doesn’t raise his voice, but I don’t think he’d make eye contact either, especially while you’re talking, always looking down or to his surroundings as a way to deflect his attention as well

After a fight (yelling, etc):

I feel Dante would let you scream alone, and this is a double edged sword because it could  be perceived as manipulative (since you’d be seen as the emotional exploding mess and him the calm and collected rational guy), but also mostly because he REALLY doesn’t want to waste his energy yelling or getting worked up

He’d be the quiet type to just let you exhaust yourself, and then maybe have the audacity to ask ‘are you done?’ afterwards

I think to make him actively participate in a fight like this, it really would depend of the subject, if it’s something he perceives as unimportant by his own standards (even if in a general sense, it could be important), he is not going to give himself trouble getting personally involved

I think also that the only way to make him ‘care’ to participate is to really hammer it into his head until he snaps (which is also not really healthy for neither side), because I feel Dante is also the type of person to think one conversation fixes the problem, and once he realizes that’s not the case and you keep bringing it up, he’s going to eventually get fed up and then participate to see how to end it for good. But again, you’d be the one who’d have to lead this, which can be mentally exhausting.

a.n: also I know all of these make him sound like a terrible person, but I think toxic behaviours don’t necessarily make someone an exclusively toxic person, and all of these passive behaviours CAN be changed through enough communication

Who’d apologise first:

This is a toughie because I think Dante would definitely apologise first but mostly to end the argument faster, and only after you properly discuss everything that he’d give a genuine apology and offer to make it up to you somehow (can be an extensive process)

When he’s wrong, I think the more severe it is the more he’s going to try to avoid seeing it as his fault, because he wants to do things his way. In this case, I think the only way to get him to apologise first would to let him get his shit wrecked lol, to really beat the pride out of him

Final Thoughts:

Overall I think Dante when it comes to arguments, fights, and etc, is a really passive guy. He may give off the impression he doesn’t care or as dismissive, but I think mostly because he doesn’t know how to solve problems without fighting or killing. Throughout the games, from what I could gather, specially in DMC5, he lacks communication and prefers to handle things his way than to actually sit down and have a talk. Talking for him is just fighting, but with his S/O I feel he’d be at such a loss on how to handle the situation properly, it’d take a lot to make him go from “seemingly uncaring” to “understanding”. The main issue would be the ‘sweep under the rug’ mentality of him letting things pile up before they explode in his face, because he’s the kind of guy to say he can just ‘fix it later’.

DMC5 — Sleepy Kisses

howdyy ya’ll— guess who’s trying to write for a new fandom?? me :) i’ve decided to try something new (n i’ve been dying to test out some fluff dmc works) and i will juggle these with my far cry works too!! 

pls forgive how these turned out, i’m still getting a feel for every character and i wanna do em justice but that takes practice and i’m sure these hc’s/tropes have been done before but for now pls enjoy <3

Dante

Dante is known for his late night’s spent working after weeks of neglected paper work, however he’s got a bad habit of being disorganised— hence the whole predicament of needing to work late.

You wander over to his desk to find him snoring softly with a pile of paperwork as his pillow and whiskey bottles resting beside his head. With each snore, his hair ruffles on the exhale and you can’t help but smile softly as his nose scrunches adorably.

His back will be sorry tomorrow if you left him there, and so with gentle hands on his shoulders, you litter soft kisses along his neck until he stirs.

“Hey there sleepyhead, come to bed with me.. unless you plan to sleep there all night.”

In his groggy state, Dante is relatively easy to nudge in the direction of the bedroom. He only manages to slip on one set of stairs before he’s collapsing face first into the bed.

Dante sleeps with his head tucked into your chest, his hair tickling your collarbone before promptly passing out once more and snoring in your ear all night.

Vergil

Vergil loves his peace and quiet, especially after returning back from Hell. He’s comforted by the silence and he feels most comfortable curled up on the worn in couch with a book in his hand and your head in his lap.

He doesn’t say much beyond the slight grumble or hum from a particular interesting fact in one of his many books of demon lore. You can tell instantly when he’s fallen asleep by the lack of turning pages, looking down to see a sleepy Vergil with the book on his chest.

Running your hand through his pristine hair, you carefully bend down and place a gentle kiss onto the bridge of his nose as you slowly wake him with caution.

“Vergil— Darling, let’s go lie down properly.”

It’s a known fact Vergil prefers naps and sporadic periods of sleep over anything remotely close to a good eight hours but if anyone could convince him, it’d be you. With your hand in his, the two of you wander into his bedroom before climbing under the covers.

Of course, he faces away from you— trying to maintain some semblance of stoicism but you’re having none of that as you move over and spoon him. You hold his hands in front of his chest, squeezing softly until you finally hear his breathing even out and he relaxes into you.

Nero

Nero is more than exhausted after taking on extra jobs with Dante. He arrives home with tense shoulders and little energy as he claims the closest surface as his new sleeping cove.

You find him curled up on the couch, The Red Queen resting against the armrest and his jacket still on as he snores softly. One boot has been kicked off as well as his gloves and you watch as his face relaxes the deeper he nods off.

You figure he should at least remove his outer clothes to get a proper (and well deserved) nights sleep. Placing kisses on his cheeks, you take a knee by the couch to pull off his boot and get him comfortable.

“Those demons must have done a number on you Love, help me with your jacket and then we can go lie down.”

Nero doesn’t let you get further than placing his boot next to its partner before you’re pulled onto the couch with him and tucked securely in his arms.

His arms are wrapped around you in a bear hug, but it keeps both of you feeling warm and cozy— the perfect conditions for falling asleep. 

Nico

Nico’s inspiration for her craft can often hit her at random points in the day and it’s only late at night after she’s been tinkering and designing prosthetics do you find her fast asleep at her workbench.

Today is no different as you wander over to her, noting how her glasses are skewed as they rest on her arms and the very prominent welding tool still in her hands.

You’re quick to remove the tool from her hand, thanking whoever’s out there that she didn’t lose an arm whilst falling asleep welding. Her fingers are rough from her work and you take a moment to pepper kisses along each of them before waking her slowly.

“Morning sweetheart, you’re looking very cozy there— but I think the bed will be much better.”

You do your best to half carry-half drag Nico to your bedroom where you both rug up under the blankets and snuggle together.

The two of you sleep with your noses bumping and your legs tangled together under the duvet. Nico’s hair brushes your cheeks, strewn about the pillow and you can’t help but admire how beautiful she looks in that moment.

you and dante have been dating for a few months now and you had moved in with him at his place after a few weeks of dating and everything was pretty amazing, you were helping Dante with his work and everything, you met his family and friends — basically having the time of your life with the man you loved

recently dante had been wanting to meet your family, you didn’t have a problem with him meeting them it’s just your mother you were worried about…. you knew she wouldn’t approve of your relationship and current life right now so you were a bit hesitant to actually schedule the day for the dinner.

as the day started to come you got anxious more and more by the day and Dante noticed this, he felt bad for asking you to see your family, he ended up talking to you about it and he said if you didn’t want to go you didn’t have to — he could meet them some other time without your mother present

the day has come for you and dante to have dinner your family, as you walked up to the door dante noticed how scared you were reaching for the door knob, your hand was shaking pretty bad and this was his moment to talk to you about this again, he gently grabbed your arm to prevent you from opening the door right now

“babe, you don’t have to be here — like i said a few days ago we can just leave at anytime just tell me when” he said in a soft and serious tone, he never really hit serious like this but when he did it was something important like this. you nodded and then opened the door to your home without saying a word about what he just said, he followed in behind you and you were met by your older siblings playing, your father and mother in the kitchen cooking the pasta they said they would cook and your family dog who ran up to you almost immediately

“SISTER!!” the twins said in unison as they ran up to you as well, you hugged everyone by the entrance and Dante introduced himself to the kids before going over to the dining room where the table was and everything. after you were done hugging everyone you went over to Dante who was already talking to your father about his job at the dining table

“oh Y/N! i’m so glad your here!” you father said after he saw you, standing up to hug you. your father had always been so kind and sweet to you and your siblings, you and your father had a special bond that was unbreakable

“i’m glad i came — where’s Tyler?” your younger brother who was 17, since you left he was pretty much the only one who really kept in contact besides your fathers regular check ins here and there, your father pulled you aside and talked lowly so your mother didn’t hear, this was Dante’s cue to try and conversate with your mother and also help her while you and your father talked

“he and your mother got into another argument… he wants to move in with you and your boyfriend because how how bad things have gotten recently” he said looking down the hall to his room “you should go and talk to him before you leave” you nodded in agreement before you both went to the kitchen where Dante and your mother were

“h-hey mom….” you spoke softly as your mother looked up at you for a second before looking back down

“i’m surprised you actually came and that you actually have a boyfriend” there it was, you have just been waiting for her to say something rude like that. you sighed and tried to ignore it

“how have you been?” you asked, dante was actually shocked she said that — the first sentence that came out her mouth was that and dante was even more shocked you brushed it off like that

“i’m fine… so tell me — Dante, what do you do for a living?” she placed the cover over the pot and stared directly at him, her arms crossed

“i’m a Demon hunter — i kill the demons that are ruining the City…. Y/N is one as well” he said, making eye contact with her as well. you have always told your mother that you’ve been going to college as a back up and she looked disappointed

“so you’re not going to college, Y/N? that’s what you’ve been doing all these months? doing something so stupid and easy as Demon hunting?” she turned to look at you, anger in her face as she did — you could never please her, no matter how much you did that you think would make her happy it was never enough

“it’s not stupid…. nor easy mother — it’s a tough job and we’re always risking our lives for everyone in this city…. especially me because i’m not like Dante” you responded, your voice gentle as always

“i think that’s an amazing thing — you’re helping the city and that’s good” your father said

“no — Demons don’t exist, Y/N…. they never have and they never will — why couldn’t you just stay in college?”

“with all due respect ma’am — they are very much real…. i’m part Demon, but enough about me. Y/N works hard to protect the City…. she almost died saving a family two months ago so for you to say something so rude that demons dont exist is out of line, Miss” he spoke as he walked over to you to make sure you were okay

“you brought a demon into my house, Y/N? your kids are gonna be little demons causing problems around this place! and almost die my ass — you didn’t almost die because it never happened! listen to yourself!”

“mom, that family was going to be killed by five demons — i went there alone to help them and got a scar on my chest to prove it…. the fact i’m out here risking my life for this city ans my own mother won’t give me the time of freaking day is ridiculous!” you said, both of your hands on the counter

“never in my 56 years of life have i heard of a demon….” was all she said

“because you’re so close minded that you don’t even know a damn thing about what’s happening in the city right now — there’s an attack going on and it’s a big deal…. i’m here instead of doing my job right now…. i’m here while families and people die because i love you guys….”

“so…. what’s actually happening is true?” your father cut in, worry in his voice, he has been trying to tell your mother about it for days but she wouldn’t give him the time of day about it

“yes…. you guys are fine because you live far from the city but i suggest leaving to another state for a bit just incase they spread to here….” dante said to him

“mom — i’ve done nothing wrong to you ever to deserve the hate from you that i’m getting…. but i’m gonna go and do my job to save you” you grabbed your keys and started to walk away with dante

“wait, what about Tyler?” your father called out

-Vergil was very nervous handling your wings. They looked so delicate and fragile, as if they would snap in half if he handled them too roughly. He did next to nothing the entire time, worried he would hurt you.

-After a while, you grew a bit frustrated with how useless he was being and told him that your wings were as strong as, if not stronger than bone, and that they were very unlikely to break under his grip.

-With this reassurance, Vergil gripped your wings more tightly and wasn't afraid to snip away protruding feathers.

-Turns out, he had a lot of fun, and would definitely help you again sometime in the future, should you need him.

-Nero vaguely remembered helping V groom Griffon's feathers a while back, but all he really did was hold the bird down.

If you’re too impatient to get in the shower or run a bath he’ll just sacrifice one of your bath towels just in case things get really heated and a bit messy.

When all’s said and done if your still conscious he’ll wrap you up in your warmest blanket and cuddle you throughout the night/day.

-The first thing Dante saw in the morning was you, albeit you were blurry and fuzzy looking, thanks to his sleep-clouded eyes.

-He took a moment to savor your peaceful, sleeping face, then promptly fell back asleep. Don't judge him, he's tired because of last night!

-At some point, he rolled over and squashed you with his weight, then started snoring loudly.

-It was then when you realized you should get up now, or you'll just be wasting your time trying to fall asleep under this mountain of a man.

■ Vergil ■

-Vergil woke up after a long night of passionate lovemaking, turned his head, and found you fast asleep against his chest.

-He smiled, a hand coming up to your hair to stroke it, and lay there for a while, savoring the moment.

-Such peace and tranquility was rare, so Vergil took a few moments to appreciate it, wondering how long it would last.

-Once you awoke, he greeted you with a kiss and leaped out of bed, ready to take on another MOTIVATING day.

□ Nero □

-Nero woke up to find you wrapped up in the blankets like a fleshy burrito, though it was unclear whether you did that yourself or he did it in his sleep.

-Nero smiles and scoots closer to you, wrapping his arms around you and tugging you further into his chest, then sighs.

-It's nice, having quiet, peaceful moments like with you and he is determined to enjoy every second.

-When you finally wake up too, Nero is somewhat reluctant to pull away from you, though he won't admit it aloud.

● V ●

-V woke up with his face buried in your chest, the most comfortable place to find yourself in the morning, in his opinion.

-He snaked his arms around your waist and just held on, looking up at you adoringly.

-He thinks you're so cute when you sleep, like Sleeping Beauty herself.

-He's almost disappointed when you wake up, but is quickly reminded that this means you can go on and spend another amazing day together.
