His arm reached over to slap Bokuto about his previous comments

Three of the four sat in the baking Brazilain sun watching tourists and locals alike , the soft sand underneath them squeaking slightly

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Kiyoomi freaking Sakusa"

The most drop dead goregous, mouth watering, modelesque girl stood over Sakusa liek it was nothing, like he wasn't a big name already in the volleyball world!

Two more girls came up behind the first, the dirty blonde one talking after the first only to recieve a chop to her head from the third girl

Hinata's stupid head blocked his perfect view of the three

"I didn't know you were gonna be in Rio?"

Finally! A name to her face

"It was super last minute that's why Kiki wouldn't let us pay extra to sit together on the plane"

The dirty blonde girl spoke up, assuming she was talking about the third girl who hit her in the head earlier

"Nice little drink you got there"

Y/n pointed at Atsumu's drink, a smirk and a light gigglecoming from her two friends

"Oh my god are you asain Troye Sivan?"

His shoulders and face dropped simultaneously at the comment

He had barley known these girls for five minutes yet he was already getting absolutly torn to shreds by their insults

"Bye bye Kiyo', don't miss me too much"

Sakusa ignored Y/n's comment returning back to whatever he was doing before he was

Something still felt off to Atsumu though, like a strange lurking feeling that somehow felt familiar

thoughts on thistle and yaad's dynamic that i vomited in the tags of another post but will now try to articulate here: they're not actually family, or at least they shouldn't be. not in a conventional sense anyway. framing them as uncle and nephew (even in a non-literal, silly fantasy world way) rides more on technicality than anything concrete.

what i mean by this is yaad calls thistle by name and says he and delgal were raised "like" brothers. he talks about thistle like he's an outsider imposing himself into the melinis' space, and it's clear that thistle was never legitimized as a member of the family. for thistle's part, though we don't know how he would treat yaad pre-demon brainrot, it's safe to assume based on the way he punishes him—turning him into a doll—and how little is shown in the way of any sort of relationship between them that thistle only cares* about yaad as an extension of delgal (otherwise i'd expect something like kabru and milsiril, because it's not like another complicated interspecies family dynamic would be out of place, yet there's next to nothing on them even in bonus content, just their scant interactions in the main story).

in essence, they're strangers to one another. thistle's desperation to preserve the illusion of a family, a model where he doesn't even fit, was the snare they were caught in for the past thousand years of stasis. yaad-as-nephew is a prop to uphold that illusion, and thistle is playing a role he's unfit to play. in the context of post-canon interactions, attempting to reconstruct that facade would only be a reenactment of trauma for them both (in a deeply compelling way i'd love to watch unfold, tbh), as that "uncle and nephew" framing places thistle in an implicit position of power over someone he's already traumatized through misuse of authority in the past, a role which also perpetuates his adultification and yaad's infantilization in turn. it'd mostly be an obstacle to any real connection.

best to burn the melini family bridge, i think, and if there's still anything salvageable left in the rubble, let something different supplant it.

I miss doing big lengthy dramatic group rolepkays it’s not even funny like instead of writing a book me and my friends would make silly Pinterest boards and ocs and write literal paragraphs about what our ocs were doing and it was so fun and also there was stupid drama and people feeling left out but I miss that so bad I’d take still having those friends and feeling left out than loosing that part of my life entirely.

In agreement with OP here.

As someone whose OCs were called a Mary Sue, or other gendered equivalent, completely changed how I wrote and created my characters, stories, blueprints, and all. It forced me to balance and overthink them so they wouldn’t get shit on for being too much. I face the worry of being “too much” enough as it is.

It tanked my joy. It affected my creativity. While my characters are more elaborate now, they…*sighs*

Heck even in places where making an OC doesn’t always happen, folks often shit on or talk negative adjacent of characters for being “Meta” or “Overpowered” or “Well-liked.”

What happened to having fun? What happened to creativity being an outlet? What happened to creative transmutation outlets?

What about joy? Loving what you create instead of constantly having folks bring criticism (and often when it relates to the above) to it?

It’s part of why I struggle to draw. My viewpoint on me making visual art or sometimes writing has been damaged incredibly.

Not gone tell folks what to do (folks are gonna do what they want anyways no matter how harmful it is) but it needs to be said.

Stop doing this to folks who enjoy their OCs as they are and otherwise. Leave them be.

I am actually so serious I think it really messes with a childs creativity and joy to tell them to never make a mary sue OC. Like that unbridaled form of joy where you make a self insert OC who super cool and everyone loves them and they have every superpower in the world SHOULD be something a kid makes, it nourishes their ability to create things for fun and not be stifled by "oh but what if my character is too overpowered and cringey...". whatever

It starts with an Instagram post.

Buck’s a sap, okay? His explore page is constantly filled with ‘send this to your best friend’ posts, and you know what? Nine out of ten times he does send them to his best friend, even if said best friend doesn’t see his dms for about a week. Point being: it’s not surprising to see a post stating, “morning, because if it was a good morning, my best friend would be in the same city as me and we'd be getting coffee together.” Beneath the text is a sketch of two people holding iced coffees. Buck does not pout as he reposts it to his story; that’s just his face.

What is surprising is when Eddie likes Buck’s story upload within minutes, because Eddie barely uses Instagram. He goes on once, maybe twice a week when he’s bored. Eddie just moved to Texas, though, and is quite literally in the process of unpacking, so how could he be bored? Yet here he is in Buck’s notifications. Not only that, but he reposts it to his story, too.

The pout that was definitely not on Buck’s face turns into a small smile as he sees that. Buck knows what it feels like to be left and ignored, but this is the first and only time Buck is experiencing someone leaving and openly missing him. Buck misses Eddie like a lung, but that feels okay, because Eddie misses Buck, too. It’s a lot for Buck to wrap his head around.

Buck closes Instagram and opens his recent call log. Underneath the names of Maddie and a guy from C shift who was asking for coverage is Eddie. Buck presses call.

“You bringing me a coffee?” Eddie greets.

Buck huffs out a laugh and responds, “Might be cold by the time I get there.”

Eddie laughs a little louder than necessary, but Buck would be lying if he said he didn’t like that. He loves how easily he can make Eddie laugh. Even when everything feels bad, Buck can say something that makes Eddie laugh, and when Eddie laughs it makes Buck feel like everything will be alright.

“I could use a coffee right now, man. I’m losing stamina. That’s why I’m on my phone instead of unpacking,” Eddie pauses, and Buck hears a box move. “Living room: throw blankets,” he reads off.

Maybe it’s because Buck’s a well-established sap; maybe it’s because Buck would do anything to hang out with Eddie right now, even if it’s eight-hundred miles apart over the phone; maybe it’s because Buck really wants an iced cookie dough latte with oat milk and mocha sauce; maybe it’s all of the above that makes Buck say, “Let’s go get coffee together.”

Eddie laughs, and Buck can practically hear his eye roll when he quips, “Yeah, sure, I’m on my way now.”

“No, I’m serious. Well— I don’t mean it like that. I— I mean you should go get a coffee, you deserve a break, and I’ll go get one too. We could stay on the phone.”

Now that Buck’s said it he’s worried he sounds juvenile. He imagines this is what kids Christopher’s age do with their online friends. (Christopher has rules, and he’s come to Eddie or Buck any time something weird happens, so they trust that he’s safe.) All the fear melts off of him when Eddie responds though.

“Yeah,” Eddie’s voice sounds soft, “we could do that.”

They both drive about twenty minutes to get to their respective coffee shops. Mindless chatter fills their cars through the speakers as they make their way. Eddie tells Buck about a chess tournament Christopher is going to be playing in, which gets Buck going about some videos he watched to better understand chess. He tells Eddie about the history, the different strategies, and various records set by players. Eddie listens intently, always happy to learn about both what Buck is learning about and his son’s interests.

They’re still on the phone as they make their way into the cafes, when they’re standing in line, and when they each approach the counter. Buck’s line is shorter, so he orders first. He steps to the side to wait for his latte and checks in with Eddie.

“You about to order?”

“Uh, yeah, I’m next. Hey—“ Eddie pauses. For a quick second, Buck wonders if he got called up. “This might seem stupid, but this place has similar flavors to the one we go to back h— in LA. And I really want that iced latte you get me. If I make this call a FaceTime, will you order it for me?”

Something flips inside Buck’s stomach. His lips part pointing upwards and he has to stop himself from tearing up over the fact Eddie wants him to order him a coffee from eight-hundred miles away. Good tears, to be clear; emotional, but filled with love.

“Yeah, of course, Eddie.”

Their timing is perfect, because not even thirty seconds after the FaceTime connects Eddie is being called up to the counter. Buck is turned towards the barista, who looks rather confused by the whole interaction, so Buck makes a joke about how he got Eddie hooked on a very specific latte and orders a cinnamon latte with soy milk and a quad shot.

They both sit in the back corners of their respected cafes with their phones propped up on napkin holders, FaceTime still connected. Eddie takes a sip of his latte and hums.

“Thank you for ordering this for me. Think it’s exactly what I needed.”

Buck’s smile as he responds is all teeth. “Any time. I’m glad to be of service.”

Eddie laughs at the way Buck salutes as he says that. He leans his head on his hand as he looks back at Buck fondly through his screen.

“God, I love y— Hanging out with you.”

If Buck notices his fumble, he doesn’t say anything except: “Yeah. You too.”

Franky

Franky is an aftercare king. He is always extremely prepared for any mess and incredibly perceptive of emotions.

Franky's stamina is unparalleled; he has you beyond exhausted and sensitive to the touch by the time he pulls out of you. You shake beneath him, whimpering as his cock slips out of it.

“I got you,” he says, his voice clear and strong. He keeps everything he needs in the bedside drawer so that he doesn't have to get up and leave you in the moment. “I'll clean you up, baby. Don't worry about a thing,” he says as he reaches for the wipes. He wraps his arms around you, making sure to wipe you down thoroughly.

Franky can't keep his mouth shut for longer than five minutes, so he talks to you as he cleans you up; he tells you how beautiful you are and makes it clear how much you're loved. Franky is a romantic at heart. He's a real sap about most things, and after sex is no different. He'll cradle you and tell you he loves you, refusing to leave you until you drift off safe in his arms. When you're out like a light, he'll set off running a candle-lit bath for when you wake up from your post-sex power nap.

Ace

Like Franky, Ace is also a sappy boy. Though he's much less likely to worry about the cleanup. For him, aftercare is all about the cuddles and praise.

“How're you feeling?” Ace asks, rolling onto his back and pulling you to lie on his chest. You hum and nod, feeling satisfied but tired and not very talkative. Ace chuckles. “That's good. I'm glad I made you feel good.”

He presses soft kisses all over your face, neck and shoulders. He offers to massage them for you too. He just wants to be touching you at all times. He settles for holding you and rubbing his hands up and down your back. He listens out for any whimpers or curses of pain that may indicate he's hurt you, when he finds none, he's comfortable enough to attempt a nap with you. In his opinion, a nap is the best recovery for ANYTHING

He's unbothered by the mess of cum and sweat, he'll get you in the shower after a nap if you feel like you need it though. The warmth of his body lulls you to sleep along with him.

Jinbe

Jinbe takes a more simple approach to aftercare. He simply checks in with you and gets you in the bath or shower.

Jinbe is a big man, he's fully aware of this, so when he pulls out he's quick to rub at your thighs. He eases any muscle aches you may have with his skilled hands. Every sigh of content is encouragement to keep going. He enjoys giving you a massage, though if he's not careful it will lead to round two.

Once you're all relaxed, he runs a bath for you without even being asked. When the waters how you like it, he carries you like a princess and lowers you gently into the water. He sits by the side of your tub, talking to you and washing your hair/body for you. He's ready to do anything you ask of him.
