The Magic Bucket Frog
Every Fisher worth their salt knows and loves the Magic Bucket, a minion which can only be obtained by getting lucky while fishing at a very cold, very lonely pond in the Coerthas Western Highlands. The Bucket very obediently follows you around, all the while carrying a single goldfish, which when /poke'd will jump into the air to greet you.
A fine specimen in his own right.
But did you know that, VERY occasionally, a FROG will jump out of the bucket instead? It, as far as I know, cannot be summoned with /poke, /beckon, or any other input (believe me, I've tried). Instead, the frog only appears when it pleases, and only for a moment. To save you tens of minutes of staring at a bucket (and because I desperately wanted to take a closer look at My Dear Boy the Frog), I have documented this phenomenon for you, dear reader.
Behold! A Frog!
Far more rotund than the froggos and poroggos typically encountered in Eorzea, our friend here is clearly very well-fed. (Perhaps this is where all that bait goes when we reel in too early?)
Through the power of gpose, we can also see a split second in which the Frog floats alongside the Bucket's primary denizen. Truly, peace and love on planet Bucket. And finally, for your viewing pleasure:
The Magic Bucket Frog, isolated in all his green, rotund glory.

SEA'S COMMUNITY COMPENDIUM UPDATE
We have a massive one today! Huge thanks to a close friend of mine who sent me every single bookmark of xiv resources she had. 💖
Additionally, a good handful of these resources were sourced from a list originally created by @rinhkitty, which you can find here. I have tried to include the more recent/active of the lot, so it's not a one-for-one. Thank them for a lot of the large scale resources you'll find below! ✨
As of 04/12, I have added the following resources (in no particular order) to Sea's Community Compendium for FFXIV Creatives:
LARGE SCALE
GARLAND TOOLS — Contains XIV resources such as Garland Data, everything database, crafting lists and equipment calculators; Garland Bell, gathering timers, collectable resources and hunt windows; and FFXIV Fisher, daily fishing windows, bait paths and catch checklist. Maintained by Clorifex Ezalor of Zalera.
TEAMCRAFT — Create crafting lists and collaborate with others, set gathering alarms, simulate crafting rotations, and more!
CAT BECAME HUNGRY - FFXIV ANGLER — Contains everything and anything to know about fishing including specific fish guides, location, baits, aquarium fish and more!
FFXIV - CRAFTING AS A SERVICE — Crafting information and planning for FFXIV!
FFXIV GARDENING — The FFXIV Gardening Database is a collection of everything related to gardening in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. It was created to organize and visualize the results obtained from crossbreeding.
SIGHTSEEING LOG HELPER — This tool will help those trying to complete their pesky Sightseeing Log by letting them know upcoming weather patterns for each zone!
EUREKA TRACKER — For everything and anything to do with Eureka mobs, tracking and weather patterns.
FFLOGOS — for tracking of items/actions related to Eureka.
FFXIVSQUADRON — A comprehensive tool that helps you assess the success rate of various squadron missions.
FFXIV CHOCOBO COLOUR CALCULATOR — Will calculate what chocobo feed you will need to get from your current colour to your desired colour. *rng not included.
FFXIV HOUSING — A site specialising in the documentation of all housing items available in game.
HOUSING SNAP — A compilation of player-made housing designs. Can be used for inspiration or places to visit!
MISC
NPC CHAT BUBBLES — Would you like more NPC chat bubbles for edits? Say no more! Created by @alexoisxiv.
OLD TUMBLR LAYOUT BY PIXIEL — While not XIV specific I know a lot of people aren't fans of the new Tumblr layout, so this is a fix that will revert it to an as close as possible approximation of the new one. I won't tag the creator as I don't think they're in the xiv community, but it's run by @/pixiel!
HOW TO CURSE LIKE AN ISHGARDIAN — Do you want to make the church blush? Do you want to incur the wrath of Halone? @stars-and-clouds has compiled a list of appropriate curses/swear words for you!
FINAL FANTASY XIV SIDEQUEST GUIDE - HEAVENSWARD EDITION — maintained by @chatty-moogle, this guide explores interesting sidequests in Heavensward that will give you more information about the lore, titbits about locals and other interesting information!
TRUST BANNERS FOR XIV — If you have ever wondered how people mimic the Trust banners used in XIV, look no further! @locke-rinannis has a template for you.
MAKING USE OF RECOMMENDATIONS — created by @autumnslance, this guide will help you make your recommendations tab useful rather than annoying.
BOTANICA EORZEA — A guide to the flora of Eitherys and her reflections, including fungi and seedkin. For reference in writing and roleplaying. Maintained by @tinolqa.
GPOSE TIPS — A tutorial on how to achieve clarity and detail in your XIV screenshots! Created by @aryalaenkha.
UI MACRO MENUS — A guide on how to use macros to create small UI menus for XIV. Written by @diskwrite-ffxiv.
TYPHON GATE RESEARCH — Created by @mcstronghuge, these are the statistically best places for your character to stand for the Typhon Gate!
CHANGELOG
HYDAELYN HEALTH HAVEN has been removed at the request of the owner.
Moved THE BALANCE higher on the list to reflect alphabetical sorting, excluding names that start with The.
Misc formatting as needed.
Added some additional clarification around large-scale discords/spaces; in particular: Large-scale community discords such as the XIV Reddit Discord, Hunts, GPOSE promotions and broad-space roleplay servers that harbour a large number of people and are publicly available to all. These may not have an RP focus but will assist in other aspects of the game. Also includes well-known tools/resources that are utilised by large groups of people and assist in gameplay elements.
Added a quick-jump menu to the bottom of each of the table of contents menus to assist in navigation.
Want to submit? You can either fill out the google form here, send me an ask with the relevant information contained on the Compendium, or join my Discord at SEAFLOOR (21+ only)!
I am sure there's probably a couple of things I have missed or links/formatting that might be broken. Please don't hesitate to let me know if anything is out of place. I'm going to take a break now. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest edit that's ever going to occur on this document!

I hope this doesn’t come across as weird but do you have lore about mori I can read??? I absolutely love your wol …. he looks so wet and pathetic and i would love to read about him
this is not weird at all i love any excuse to talk abt my loser conman necromancer catboy!! i should consolidate all the lore/facts/history about him at some point since theyre scattered across like 4 different platforms + documents but you can find a rundown of his deal on his carrd!
im gonna put a quick bullet list for his timeline pre-arr under a read more. it's basically summarized in the carrd if you dont wanna read all that but i'll go into slight more detail here. ty for letting me rambleee <33
-mori (not his real name) was born as the 13th child and first son of a doman hyuran priest (japanese) and keeper miqote shaman (korean). theres a lot of cultural baggage in how his dad courted his mother but he married her for her spiritual powers (echo). they lived in a really remote town in othard that was basically built around their family shrine.
-his echo is so oversensitive that it's basically on all the time. his mom, who was severely mentally and physically ill, couldn't deal with him as an extremely difficult infant and so often drugged him into sleep out of fear of his father. he found out anyway when mori was taken from her care for training.
-since religion is outlawed in garlean territories, his dad took on a lot of debt to bribe officials into allowing them to keep the shrine. there was a lot of politics behind this but eventually the pressure mounted. this included sending some of his sisters away for the war effort, making a public spectacle of their family, and eventually, a public execution of his parents.
-he became head of the house despite being way too young for that sort of role and inherited his dad's debts. he plotted his revenge by offering to sell their shrine and all the artifacts within to the various illicit organizations that lent his dad the money in the first place (which was of great interest to them for either cultural reasons or its aetheric properties). once he had them all in the shrine, he evacuated his family and burnt it down, killing a number of major players in those groups. the incident devastated the trees in the area and the town eventually was abandoned.
-sidebar, this is why he's called 'memento mori'. the garlean government censored talks of what actually happened, resulting in the native residents referring to the incident as 'the forest' aka 'mori' and so garleans who remembered it would remind each other of who he was by asking each other 'memento (remember) mori (the forest)?'
-with the money he stole from those groups he evacuated what little remained of his family to eorzea and they landed in the black shroud. before the fall of dalamud, some surviving members of said various illicit organizations managed to find him, but he managed to escape by falling into a gelmorran ruin. unfortunately that happened to be the palace of the dead and he ended up trapped there until the end of arr/heavensward
-while he's in the potd he basically becomes the jesse to nybeth's walter white LOL the reason nybeth looks like a freaky floaty monster when you reach floor 100 in potd is because mori messed with his necromancy experiments in his last (and successful) escape attempt.
-also while he's there he entered like a 5-6 year period of survival mode which means he didnt eat/sleep well and was constantly paranoid + in the dark, something that he just pretends didnt happen at all once he gets out. combination of stress, poor eating, and aetheric fuckery in potd results in him 'losing color' in his hair and eyes (which were blue-tinted before). he never gets these back even when he makes it out (and he unfortunately had to leave edda behind. which sucked because she was basically a little sister to him)
-when he gets out of potd, he finds out that most of his family scattered to the winds. some remain in eorzea but under the protection of various groups with the muscle for it (eg. lotti, who is a hearer in the conjurer's guild and beni, who is a minor scion). kan-e-senna and minfilia manage to find a way to suppress his echo through a seal so he can actually live among people for the first time in his life. unfortunately, his sisters have since figured out that the reason they're being persecuted by various scary guys is because of him so they're really upset with him, especially because they assumed he ran away from the responsibility five/six years ago
from here on he figures out how to apply his time with nybeth in the overworld to scam the bereaved by botching resurrections order to pay off that debt he incurred. he does still return back to potd because part of his necromancy requires herbs from the bottommost floors but overall he avoids his family while hes doing illegal shit. he's not an actual warrior of light despite the echo because he simply does not have the moral principles for it. and also god would sooner turn her gaze from him than choose him as a champion LMFAO

Princess and His Knight: Aymeric de Borel x Reader Edition
A/N: I recently got into this silly little game and noticed a lack of fresh Aymeric content so I edited a personal fic of mine into an x-reader for all to enjoy and insert themselves or their ocs into \o/ this is my first time writing for this sweet man so I am so sorry if he is a little ooc! Just a heads up, this contains spoilers for basically all of Heavensward. (I just started Stormblood though so no spoilers pretty pretty please)
Summary: Aymeric de Borel happens to come across you in Gridania during a business trip but while he waits for you to finish up your own business, two small children make him reflect on his dynamic with you. Perhaps this time he isn't the knight in shining armor...
Rating: E
Pairing: Botanist reader/Aymeric
It was a fortunate chance that Ser Aymeric ran into his dear Warrior of Light in Gridania. Initially this trip was to meet with the Elder Seedseer and personally deliver a few documents as a displayed initiative of Ishgard keeping contact with the rest of Eorzea. Or at least that is the polite way of documenting he wanted to take advantage of the rare occasion he’s able to escape his desk and to also take advantage of the even rarer occasion he’s able to take a small break from the everlasting winter at home in exchange for a brief change of scenery.
Judging by the subtle smile on Lucia’s face it was safe to say she appreciated the brief trip as well.
After the exchange of pleasantries followed by work discussions, and finally after some light personal chit-chat the conversation with Elder Seedseer reached an appropriate conclusion.
Before parting ways, Kan-E-Senna mentioned with a curl of her lip that the Warrior of Light was spotted near the Botanist guild if he had a moment to spare or hell- if they were even still there. With the fate of Eorzea on their shoulders so often, the Warrior of Light was not one to stay in a single spot for too long.
“It would not hurt to stop by and bid greetings to our dear friend before we head home.” Aymeric eagerly suggests to Lucia as if he even had to explain himself.
“It certainly would not, Lord Commander.” Her smile curls, matching Kan-E-Senna’s knowing one.
With the convenience of mini Aetherytes around, the two were at the Botanist guild within a minute. The area only feels somewhat familiar after being given a tour some time ago. As commander of the Temple Knights and head speaker of the House of Lords, he’s rarely in Gridania. Let alone in areas outside of the Lotus Sand and the airship landing dock.
Familiar with the area or not, there is no deceiving his eyes when he spots a figure he’d recognize anywhere. With his objective in sight, his pace unconsciously quickens. For speed efficiency reasons of course.
There you were, several yalms away. You look quite different aside from your contemplative stare aiming down. Rarely has he seen you outside of a heavy winter coat. He’d say your current attire matches well with the other botanists in the area.
It’s not until he and Lucia are much closer do they notice you’re looking down at three small children, two of them holding planter pots.
For a moment, you crouch down, taking the small pot carefully in your hands as you inspect the dirt. Quietly, Aymeric admired the way your brows pinch together in thought as your eyes observe the object in hand. What you said was inaudible to him but it made the small Elezen child grin with glee.
Aymeric also smiles, feeling his heart flutter at the sight of someone so dear to him work so nicely with the children. He had half the mind to turn on his heels so as to not disturb the moment but he becomes sealed in place the moment your head finally turns towards the two.
Your eyes widen briefly but the wide smile that blooms quickly after the initial surprise could bring spring to Ishgard.
“I hope we are not interrupting.” He returns the smile.
“Oh no! Not at all!” You fervently shake your head and stand upright. “It’s good to see you’re both outside of the winter wonderland.” You chuckle. “Is it business or pleasure that brings you out here?”
“It is indeed a pleasure to have a change of scenery but alas, it is business that brings me here today.” Aymeric gives you a slight nod. “Is it business that also occupies you today? I would not want to pose as a distraction from your current company.” His hand motions to the three small children beside you.
You glance down at them for a moment before shaking you head. “Nah, just helping the little ones get some proper soil for their plants. Got this one trying to grow some mint.” You slightly lift the pot toward him. “I been overdue to come by and check on the guild, well- moreso Fufucha.” An airy laugh follows.
“Fufucha?” A dark brow quirks up. The name faintly rings a bell.
“Fufucha!” You nod. “She’s the head of this guild- oh- I haven’t introduced you yet.” You gasp before turning to one of the small figures. “Hey, Fufucha! If you get a second I’d like you to meet someone.”
With a perk of a small head adorning a sunhat, Aymeric stands corrected upon the realization that the small figures beside his champion were actually two small children and a single lalafell.
“These some friends of yours?” A soft southern voice inquires as she takes a step or two closer. As Aymeric more carefully inspect the lalafell he notices she and you wore matching hats. Yet another charming detail of his dear friend that will be added to the collection.
“Sure are! Some of my closest yet.” You nod proudly. “This is Aymeric and Lucia. Or Ser Aymeric if you wanna get fancy with it. I told you how Ishgardians have their fancy rankings but these are good people who helped me out and saved my ass lots of times.” You laugh, motioning your hand to the respected figures, ignoring said guild master muttering “language!” In a warning tone.
The commander almost laughs from the casualness of the introduction but he’s long perfected the act of maintaining his cool composure. To know and be able to refer to those in high authority with such casualness was truly the privilege of the Warrior of Light. However, he is confident you would say it all the same regardless of your own title.
“Miss. Fufucha was it? It is an honor and a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for providing your botanic knowledge to the people of Eorzea.” Aymeric gives a polite smile as he bows along with Lucia.
“I have heard through the grapevine that you and the Warrior of Light provided assistance to the farmers on Camp Cloudtop. For such deeds, I thank you once more.” There’s a prideful glimmer in his sapphire eyes, amused by his little play on words.
“As they have said, I am Ser Aymeric de Borel, commander of the Temple Knights. Tis the fancy way to put it as they have also said.” His eyes flicker to you for your reaction.
“I thank you for your service in keeping Ishgard, and my sprout here safe. I can’t take full credit of the work in Camp Cloudtop as that was mostly their doing. I just offered some sage advice.” The Lalafell nods.
“I heard plenty about you both though. Especially you, Ser Aymeric.” She smiles. “It’s nice to finally have a face to match all they said.” She innocently rests hands behind her back.
“Oh? Good things I hope.” It’s lighthearted but deep down he truly hopes you songs of praise match his of yours.
“Of course! When they came back gushing about-”
“OH-KAY! That’s enough! Boss, the kids need the good soil for these.” You quickly hold the small planter out to your guildmaster as an offering.
“You know where the good soil is.” Fufucha is unmoved with the exception of her arms coming forward to cross over her chest.
“Don’t pay any mind to that.” You say to the two guests while glaring at Fufucha for a moment before sighing in defeat. “I’ll be right back but after that I’d like to get some lunch with you before you take off.” You pause, giving the raven haired knight a hopeful look. “That’s if you both aren’t in a hurry to get back.”
“Not at all. That sounds lovely.” The acceptance leaves his lips unconsciously but he wouldn’t dream of redacting it after seeing your face light up. “As someone more local to the area, I trust you have an assortment of good recommendations.” He adds. He was already out, surely another bell or two wouldn’t hurt. This opportunity was rare enough as it is but to also have you here and not in the midst of saving the world again? He’d dare to say this was a blessing from Halone.
“Right!” You grin. “I’ll be just a sec. Just don’t…” Your gaze flickers from Fufucha then to the two children gazing up at Aymeric and Lucia in awe. “Hey kids, you know those are knights. They fought lots of nasty monsters and stuff. You should ask them about it.” You initiate the shift in conversation before reaching for the other planter and heading inside the guild.
Lucia smiles to herself as the two children gasp in awe and step closer. One was a blonde boy and the other a girl who looked a lot like his sister.
“Are you sure you’re a knight?” The girl softly asks Aymeric while shyly twirling a blonde braid around her finger. “You look more like a prince.”
“I am deeply flattered by such an endearing compliment but I am in fact a sworn knight.” Aymeric chuckles, kneeling before the two. “May I be graced with the name of the fair maiden before me and her comrade?”
“I’m Ophelia!” The girl slightly lifts part of her dress and bows in a polite curtsy. “And this is my brother Oliver.” Her hand motions to the boy who curiously is peeking at the long sapphire blue sword on the commander's side.
“It is a pleasure to meet you bo-”
“Have you killed people with that?” The boy asks abruptly, causing even the knight himself to pause for a second. The boy's hazel eyes have a strange amount of sparkles for such a morbid question.
“Oh definitely! Like daddy said, knights kill all types of things like dragons and bad guys and poor people.” Ophelia nods in agreement.
“Okay! That’s it with the blood and violence talk.” Fufucha interjects, waving her hands.”I’m gonna have a word with your father about what he’s feeding to you.” She sighs, shaking her head. “I’m so sorry about that.” She looks apologetically at Aymeric.
“It’s alright.” He assures her. “While weapons are created to harm, this sword is strictly for the use of protecting the people against armed villains. People such as yourselves included.” He softly smiles at the two children. “A long time ago my people did fight dragons but that war has reached its end and now the dragons live in harmony with us.”
Ophelia nods a little before perking up once more with hopefully a less morbid response. “Okay so you did fight a dragon but have you rescued a princess from a tower?” She eyes him with mild suspicion. “The stories all say that knights have fought dragons and rescued their true love from the highest point in the tower!” She said matter-of-factly. “The knights also break the spell of their true love with a kiss but if you haven’t kissed someone yet it’s okay. I’ll still count it.” She nods rather sympathetically with a hand over her heart.
A laugh escapes Lucia. She holds a hand over her mouth in an attempt to muffle herself.
Aymeric side eyes his second in command for a split second before clearing his throat. “I see… Thank you for your generous grading. However, I have not had the opportunity to rescue a princess just yet. Ishgard does not have royalty but rather a republic.” He tries to explain.
“What about the Warrior of Light? I heard they slayed a dragon and a big one too!” Oliver stretched his arms out to emphasize the size. “But they whine about how tired they are of running through a lot of castles but I think they’re just being lazy.” He whispers, glancing at the door to make sure you weren't going to hear that.
“In their defense, being a hero is quite exerting so I can certainly sympathize with their exhaustion but to answer your question, yes. They have saved me and my country by bravely slaying a very sizable dragon.” Aymeric chuckles.
“Are we talking about dragons?” The door swings open once more as you approach the party and crouch down next to Aymeric.
“Our friends here are quite curious about your good deeds in Ishgard. They are in search of a knight who’s experience includes; slaying a dragon, saving a princess from a tower, and breaking her afflicted curse with a kiss from her true love.”
“Ah, it wouldn’t be the first time I had someone request a dazzling knight in shining armor.” You chuckle, handing the two their respective pot. “But you’re right! I fought plenty of dragons. All of them bigger than your house with mighty large horns and massive fangs! But after taking down the biggest, baddest of them all, we’re square now. I have plenty of dragons I would consider good friends!” You proudly point your thumb towards yourself.
“I ain’t quite saved a princess from a tower but I saved my friend Aymeric here from the tallest of them all!” You nod towards him.
Upon a second of reflection, Aymeric supposed that the Vault could technically be considered a tower.
“Was he under an evil witches curse you broke with a kiss?” Ophelia tilts her head innocently.
“O-oh no!” You laugh nervously and shake your head. Thinking more on it, you supposed his father could be considered an evil witch having conspired with the Ascians and and the other well… points that aren’t exactly the time or place to dwell on, let alone tell children.
“Good enough! I have my answer!” Ophelia states. You and Aymeric exchange looks, both curious what it would be.
“The Warrior of Light slayed a dragon and rescued Aymeric from a tower so I declare they are the knight and Aymeric is the princess!” She beams proudly from her conclusion.
Now you, Lucia and Fufucha were having the laugh.
Aymeric wishes he had a retort at the tip of his tongue but all's lost when he sees how the corners of your eyes crinkle as your smile widens. Times like this, outside the midst of battle you look so soft. The yearning is there to embrace you. To be enveloped in your arms and selfishly absorb the warmth you radiate. Like a comforting blanket that protects all in your reach.
It is the same security he hopes he brings. As Commander of the Temple Knights he’s saved more lives than one could count, slayed many beasts and served his country like a noble knight should without asking for anything in return but the Warrior of Light… Within your short time to Ishgard you became this countrys champion, his champion. You are like the sun whose rays could not be smothered by even the thickest of clouds.
Countless times you volunteered to put you life on the line to protect his own men, reach out to someone once deemed a terrorist and turned the tides for the sake of peace, ventured to the clouds farther than his own men had ever traveled, slayed the very dragon who put their newly born alliance between man and dragon in danger. An alliance that might not have even been forged had it not been for the trust you built with them.
You even saved his best friend. A man he feared would have to have been striked down out of his duty for Ishgard but where he lacked, you made up for it. Hell, he didn’t believe he would have stood a chance against Raubahn in the Eorzean tournament and but amongst the cage of flames you stood proudly as the victor while adorning Ishgardian colors.
Such a proud display of his peoples armor, snowflakes dusting your hair and, the fire in your eyes is a memory that plagues his thoughts an amount too embarrassing to admit.
With a soft inhale, he sighs. There’s a smile as he realized he has no choice but to accept this title. For it truly was the one beside him who rescued him from his fathers captive at the tallest point in the tower and ventured out far and wide to slay him. A task he still feels ashamed having not done himself but what’s done is done.
“Since I’m a knight, can I have my own set of dragoon armor?” You peer at him.
“What became of the Ishgardian armor given to you for the tournament?” A brow quirks up.
“I still have that but I think the armor Estinien had was way cooler. I think it would be neat to have my own one day.” You smile smugly as you cup your chin between your index finger and thumb.
“While I do agree the Azure Dragoon armor has a well thought out design that suits the fighter and looks pleasing on the eyes, such a design is unfortunately reserved only for those appointed as the next Azure Dragoon.”
“Aw man.” You sigh defeatedly and slouch your shoulders. “Well, if you’re not going to let me have that or your armor you’ll at least buy lunch, right?” With a soft groan you rise back up to your full height. A hand extends to him as an offer.
“Now that I can certainly do for my knight.” He lifted his head up and reached for your hand. Gently he squeezed it as he rose to his feet, giving it a shake as a quiet promise of their deal.
“Deal!” You smile and give him a nod before looking down at the smaller three. You take off your gloves, tucking them in your pocket before reaching out to ruffle the two heads, much to their dismay. “Alright, I’m going to head out but you guys take care now. I’ll stop by again soon, Fufucha.”
“I hope you do.” The botanist smiles up at you before turning to Aymeric and Lucia. “Thank you for coming by today. You’re welcome to come by anytime and we’re always happy to help folks discover their green thumb!” She smiles, holding a thumbs up at the two.
“Thank you for the invitation. It was a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss. Fufucha. Perhaps one day I may take you up on your offer.” Aymeric does a slight bow and returns the gentle smile.
“Good luck to the both of you as well.” He looks to the two small children who wave and bid their farewells.
With a turn of the heel, Aymeric, Lucia and you were off to Old Gridania.
“My dear Warrior of Light.” Aymeric spoke up after a quiet moment. “Pray, er- next time you and your comrades catch up do give them my greetings but perhaps they needn’t know of our newly established titles.” He softly suggests.
You smirk, nodding your head a little. Your hands link behind your back as you lean closer to him. “Anything for you, your highness.” You softly say then add after a beat has passed. “However, you know those kids aren’t the only ones who call me your knight in shining armor.” You muse.

FFXIV Write 2024 - Prompt 6 - Halcyon
Wilan awkwardly shuffled his weight while waiting next to a table, while busy people paced back and forth around him. Some were clerks and bureaucrats carrying documents and paperwork. Others were adventurers, walking in pairs, discussing the details of their next outing. In the noisy chatter of that room, buried in the suffocating Ul’dan architecture, the young adventurer was thoroughly lost in thought. He was mulling over the conversation he had recently had with Minfilia Warde, the acting Antecedent of the Path of the Twelve. A secret organization of sort that, if she was to be believed, was tasked by an enlightened man from Sharlayan with finding and gathering individual possessed of a peculiar set of powers. Powers that he had manifested, some months prior. The Echo, she had called it. Nobody quite knows what causes these powers to awaken in people, but she suspects it to be a blessing, divine in nature.
As to why the... “blessed” individuals such as himself were being gathered, she was rather vaguer. She held the belief that this Echo had been granted for a reason, and she won’t see such a gift go to waste in indolence. She would make use of it to... “better the world”, in her own words. “Bring peace to Eorzea”. A tall order, to be sure. Yet she managed to sell him her dream, and have him agree to aid their cause.
But now, as he found himself waiting while the proper paperwork gets filed and archived, and a companion is selected to form a traveling pair with him, he found himself having second thoughts. Had he been too hasty? In truth he knows nothing about this woman, and he’s been guilty of trusting people too easily in the past. And what of this man from Sharlayan pulling the strings on this entire operation? He had to wonder: had he just signed away his freedom as an adventurer, to become a foot soldier in the political game of this Leveilleur?
“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me. This is to be my partner?”
The outraged voice of a woman who had just entered the room jolted him out of his thoughts. One look at her, and Wilan could tell she came from money. An expensive armor, an arrogant demeanour, and a grace in her movements apparent even in her outburst. She approached him, looking at him as if watching a decomposing carcass at the side of the road, making no effort to conceal her disdain. “What, you expect this simpleton to accompany me? That’s out of the question, I’d rather go alone.” “Miss Corallen, please!” hurried after her a lalafellin girl. Wilan had met her earlier as they went through his own paperwork. Tataru, he seemed to recall she was called. “As we’ve explained before, should you agree to be part of our cause you will be expected to work in pairs.” The lalafellin girl explained, waving her little arms for emphasis. “People with your gift are rare enough, we can’t risk you venturing on missions alone, and as you already know all our other members are already paired.” She turned her head at him, and for a moment Wilan caught in her expression a quiet apology for the way he had been addressed. “This is Wilan. He’s the first person we’ve recruited in a while, and he’s a swordsman like you are. We figured you two would make a good pair of Path Companions for our combat-focused missions. Wilan, allow me to introduce Nessa, she’s an Ul’dan―” “Bloody hells woman, look at this guy!” Nessa cut in, interrupting her. “What is he, a farmer!? How do you expect me to work with such an unrefined, uncouth, boorish dimwit?”
However annoyed by the young woman’s delightful attitude, Wilan made it a point not to respond to her provocations. He leaned back on the table, relaxing his muscles, and lifted hit chin as he listened to her. “That’s a lot of fancy words, one after the other too. Your home tutor must be proud.” He replied calmly, his face appearing disinterested, his voice flat and his delivery dry. He had dealt with more than enough self-important arseholes in his career as an adventurer to know better than to fuel the fire. Sure enough, Nessa gritted her teeth and clenched her fists while staring daggers at him, but had otherwise lost her momentum.
Tataru jumped at the occasion to interject. “Miss Corallen, need I remind you that you’ve been waiting to join our operations on the field for a little over four moons now?” The hyuran woman averted her eyes in frustration. “And I also remember that in out interview you said you wanted nothing more than to prove your worth by being part of something greater. If this arrangement truly doesn’t suit you we can cancel the whole thing, but only the Spinner knows when another chance will present itself.”
“Gods damn it.” Nessa muttered under her breath. “Fine. If this is the best your organization has to offer, it’ll have to do. But mark my word, you bonehead.” Again she looked straight into his eyes confrontationally, poking his chest with her finger. “You’ll better stay out of my way and leave the talking to me. We’ll be representing the Path of the Twelve on the field, and by extension lord Leveilleur himself, one of the most important personalities of Sharlayan. Not that somebody like you would know about such things. I’m not going to let an uneducated brute like you make me pass for a failure in his eyes.”
Wilan sustained her gaze, silent rebellion in his eyes. But then, with a sigh, he looked away in a gesture of acquiescence. His expression betrayed his annoyance at the woman, but he bit it all down and simply replied: “Aye.”

PROMPT #13: Butte
"Grand Steward's calling in a good handful of favors, it seems."
There was no threat in the words, nor in their speaker - and yet Tia's heart began to beat in double time, even before she'd turned to find Ingvald Bloodhound of all people standing beside her at the aetheryte while Alma finished up her attuning. He'd forgone his full red mage frippery in favor of a flowing white tunic, a hat better suited for the sun, and a light but sturdy rapier strapped to his hip.
He looked as though his retirement had done him some good, and she had no doubt that he could say much the same of her.
She wrapped him into an embrace before he could demur - and as his arms encircled her in turn, a good deal of the worries she'd been harboring for their journey faded at once.
"I thought you both were still in Dalmasca," he said, as Alma stood on her tiptoes to plant a kiss on each of his cheeks. "Or at least far enough away to be excused from Riskbreaker duty."
"Operations reconvene at the end of the moon," Alma explained - the most she could say without divulging the present known status of Lyon rem Helsos and the little shitestain he kept in tow. "We're killing some time in Eorzea until then."
"And that means… ferrying another councilmember's constituents to the capital?"
Tia nodded, loosing a breath that didn't quite release the tightness in her chest. "This time, at least."
Ingvald, to his credit, caught on to her nervousness; he laid a hand on her shoulder with far more force than he had when she'd still been struggling to walk. "I've already spoken with Gundobald and procured the necessary documentation," he whispered. "The cart's all packed and ready to go. As long as Bertliana's crew give the word, we can make a break for it before he ever learns you're here."
"No," she said at once. "I owe it to him to look him in the eyes." Regardless of whether or not she voiced her apology, the old bear deserved that much. Ashley had already had his turn. They would not have time for her to check in with Gelva, nor with anyone else who yet remained, but that was just as well.
"Where's our fourth?" Alma asked, glancing around.
Ingvald pointed over his shoulder with his thumb, then heaved a sigh before even turning around to confirm that no one was there. "Helisent Wynter. She'll be our scout, on account of the fact that staying with a group is physically painful for her."
"Sounds like she and Alma will get along well," Tia quipped. They had only been in Eorzea for two weeks, and already her chances to needle her sister had dropped off significantly without the company of Rumta-Zaraam.
"And when you snore loud enough to attract every beast in the Peaks," Ingvald retorted, "I'll be the one keeping watch. So best keep that in mind."
Tia threw up her hands, even as he drew from her the first good laugh she'd had since her return to the desert.

It's lovely to meet you!
I am a traveler of Eorzea and beyond, who loves to lend a healing hand when I can.
I've been told that I should find a place to keep all that I have seen and experienced documented and have chosen here to be the place I do so.
Don't be afraid to ask questions for anything you wish to know. Though I can't guarantee an answer.
(so yer, hoi so this will be a messy blog for a bit but it'll be run by me Chaos, and focus on my FFXIV character Iris.)

FFXIV Write 2024 Day 25
Perpetuity
“Some weeks ago, I found your original request to enter Ishgard. Before things were officially filed, you were technically denied entry because your papers were forged.”
She grimaced, having forgotten all about that. “That...oh…well…shite…yes technically…Thancred made those papers…” She looked up at him nervously. “Am I about to be thrown out of Ishgard forever?”
“Do not be absurd. Ishgard will never deny you anything.” He shook his head in disbelief that she could think that for even a moment. “I only want to know why the savior of Eorzea carries forgeries. How have you been denied citizenship? You did grow up in Gridania, did you not?”
“Not exactly…I don’t think the Shroud technically counts as part of Gridania. And sometimes I forget that no…I’m not actually a citizen of any of the Three Cities. I don’t…I don’t actually belong anywhere…”
“Riona must you say such things? If anything the Three Cities are remiss in granting you proper citizenship. I do not understand how it could have been overlooked for so long.”
“Well…it's not really that important anymore. I'm just…here…protecting the star and all. I think it's okay if I'm a citizen of nowhere.”
“I disagree. Wholeheartedly. Which is why I wished to give you this.” He pulled a leather document roll from his surcoat and offered it to her. “I only hope I am not overstepping in doing this.”

Please note: I am, vicariously, currently up to patch 5.2, having watched my partner finish SHB. I will not interact with EW content to not only avoid spoilers, but will try to tag expansions in order to help others avoid them too!
Welcome to my blog! This is where I document the life and times of my Final Fantasy 14 characters. I have a many that will all be featured here to some degree, but with a focus on my main WoL, Trya Papaya, my Dunesfolk Lalafell! I’m mainly a PS4 player so 99% of my screenshots will be vanilla but I'll do my best! I'm also an artist and plan to draw her and the rest of the gang so that's something you can hopefully look forward to! FAQs and more info under the cut.
Eventually, I plan to write out bios for all of my characters, but Trya will be my starting point!
Trya’s look varies a lot between expansions, so I’ll differentiate her looks in the tags! Also, I’ll answer some quick easy questions in this pinned post for easy access:
What is/are Trya’s main class(es)?
As she is my main I plan to eventually level them all, but her canon classes are currently as follows -
MNK | Main | DPS | A Realm Reborn
DRK | TNK | Heavensward
SAM | DPS | Stormblood
Shadowbringers TBA!
How do I pronounce her name?
Trya: Trai·uh [Pronounced like Try-a]
Papaya: puh·pai·uh [Literally like the fruit!] Starting as a joke, her name is meant to be a play on Try a papaya, while also still following the Lalafellan naming/rhyming conventions!
Is Trya your only Warrior of Light?
Trya is a bit of an unconventional case in my book. While I don't see her as the Warrior of Light—that title aptly belonging to my fiancée's character, Tsinaan Do'koor—she is a Warrior of Light that is affected by the Echo, much like Ardbert and his party. We have built the world together where she, and many of my other characters, are strongly tied to Tsinaan and have also been given the Echo to varying degrees. Tsinaan’s Echo is the most powerful or ‘complete’ of the group, but has the most drastic side effects.
The current known members influenced by the Echo are:
Trya Papaya
Cvetko Zorasch Petalpaw*
Zana'tan Chai**
Kinkaze Saizo
Tsinaan Do’koor* *owned by my fiancee **joint character(s) between my fiancee and I
Thank you for stopping by and visiting! Let’s get to know each other and explore Eorzea together, I’m always open to make friends, gush about our silly characters and the FF14 story, and everything in between!

Salutations and Happy New Year! 🎉 I thought I'd start 2025 off right with a Compendium update, especially since I plan on trying to run a drive to put the document out into the world again and try to find some new communities in the wake of a fresh year.
This update is small, mostly because I was travelling the month of December, but I'm hoping to have some new resources/communities very soon. ✨ As always, if you know of a place that isn't featured here, feel free to submit it using the google form here!
However, without further adieu, the following communities have been added to Sea's Community Compendium for XIV Creatives.
LORE
FFXIV The Twelve—Collected and compiled by ann0yance(bsky)/@sa8oteur, this spreadsheet contains currently available lore, trivia and speculation about the twelve deities commonly worshipped in Eorzea.
Have you thought about joining our Tumblr Community? You can find it here!
Want to submit? You can either fill out the google form here or send me an ask with the relevant information!
Is my space suitable for the Compendium? Most of the time, yes! Below the read more is some more information/stipulations. This is all publicly available on the document. 🍷
Below are the following things I do not accept on the Compendium:
Personal/Single-Character LFC ads. (Though these get posted to the SEAFLOOR Tumblr Community when I find them!)
Content intended for or can be used for bullying, harassment and OOC gossip. E.g. ‘Secrets’ blogs, receipts, callout posts, etc. This does not include IC tabloid blogs or other ventures used to generate roleplay.
Communities that do not have an RP/writing element (large-scale exempt).
Anything I find personally distasteful or goes against the spirit of this project.
Common-sense rule applies.
I want to put my community on the Compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?
Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!
I want to put my Community on the compendium but I only have x number of members —
Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.
I want to put my community/resource on the Compendium but I worry its too niche?
Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it. The same goes for resources; if it's relevant to the game, it'll be useful to someone.
How active does a community need to be?
If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. If a link or anything is broken, contact me asap!
I have [insert a question not stated here]?
No drama! Send me an ask or use the #Compendium channel in my Discord!

Day 5- Stamp FFXIV Write 2024
Stamp: Impress a pattern or mark, especially an official one, on (a surface, object, or document) using an engraved or inked block or die, or other instruments.
“Here you are Lord Jienuex, your Documents, the tickets you and your partner will need to board the ship, the date of boarding, and this map from the Turali Tourism Bureau to help you plan what you would like to see. You will also find the name of the person to contact in Tural when you are ready to book your ship back to Eorzea, with the proof of payment included so you are not asked to pay again. Do you have any further questions for me today?”
Dimitri had watched the small woman the entire time, she couldn’t have been more than five fulms tall and seemed to be Hyur and Elezen from her facial structure. He had also taken note of how overly friendly she was and that her smile did not touch her eyes., Millicent was her name, and she was miserable in the job she was doing, he had no doubt.
“No, no you have been wonderful.” Before rising, he looked across the desk and offered a genuine smile to the woman “You are very good at what you do Millicent, very thorough. I value the time you have spent with me today.” Now it was her turn to stare at him, eyes wide and eyebrows lifted upwards just slightly. It was at that moment that Dimitri slid his gil bag across the desk. “Please take this, do something nice for yourself tonight Millicent, you are a gem. Take care of yourself hmm?”
Dimitri didn’t stop to let Millicent reply, or even try to hand the bag back; he simply stood up and then headed out her office door, closing it carefully behind him so it did not slam. He remembered well when he was like her, so set on doing a thankless job where people were more than likely to yell at you than they were to thank you for doing a good job. There was always that little wish, that someone would just notice how hard he was trying or that someone would be kind enough to even tell him to have a good night. It was that memory that drove him to hopefully be that person for Millicent who watched with open mouth as he had left her space.
It was a nice day in La Noscea, it made him think of the songs he had been helping his Sister prepare for the upcoming culture show at Still and Strings. This cycle she had picked an old language used by Sailors that had come from Corvos. While they were both lively pieces, Viviane did not speak a lick of the language when they started. Thankfully the summer had given them time for lessons and help from Kovalt who recognized the language from some of those he had met from Corvos. The way his Sister learned languages, while slower than him, made him wonder as his Twin had a similar ability to his for in three moons' time she was able to speak and sing the language with confidence as if she had known it her entire life.
That had been the other part of his Summer Moons, discovering his life was even more of a lie than he already knew. Viviane had been taking it in stride and dealing with it far better than he was. She hadn’t told her husbands just yet, but he knew it would come soon, she hid nothing from them, and he on the other hand did not want to bother Laurent with another crazy family story, he had already heard too many and there was also the fact that Laurent was still not that happy with Dimitri around him these days.
A sharp inhale of salty sea air brought Dimitri from his thoughts and to the realization he had been walking for some time, the travel office where he had booked the tickets was far behind him now and he was very close to the Mist docks, one of his favorite places to sit and think. Rounding the corner he crossed the beach and then made his way to his favorite spot. In his earlier days. he had sat here and fished when something was bothering him. Today he pulled out the boarding passes that Milicent had given him, his fingers running over the raised Eorzean Seal that she had stamped into each document before she turned them over to him.
“Hopefully this saves us Laurent,” he murmured to the thin parchments, then looked out towards the beach, a memory of when they first met rising in his mind and the stormy night he had told the Wailer he was in love with him during a lightning storm. It was that night Dimitri had decided he would never give up on the man, no matter how distant he got or how much space the Wildwood needed to process his day, it was his to have without question. He could see the images of the two of them arguing at the edge of the water while the rain came down and the lightning skittered off the surface of the water. The flashes in Laurent’s eyes were beautiful that night, the moss green he often got lost in if he looked too long.
By now his fingers glided over the seals without him realizing he was doing it. All he could think of was Laurent’s eyes, the depth of them, and the things he saw in them. The content feeling he got when they held each other's gaze. Twelve did he miss the man, the feel of him in his arms. The warmth of his smile when he was happy and the sound of his voice when he needed to talk.
“Please bring him back to me.” Another whisper left him as if he spoke to Gods now instead of the water that lapped at his toes. “I am such a fool.” a soft sniffle left the Sharlayan, his head lowering in sorrow and remorse.
