the contrasts in canon femcoding between li lianhua and di feisheng are so fun, because one of them is that in li lianhua's case those details feel like sometimes deliberate choices toward a state of being that he goes with and feels comfortable as, while with di feisheng more often than not it creates a sense of unease to him when those things clash with the projection of masculinity he's kept up as strength and self-defense

I think your art is very pretty regardless, but I've definitely noticed a change in your work that might be bothering you. You've strayed into muted colors and fuzzy linework!/pos It's super good for landscapes, but your old art was very much focused on bright happy colors, focused concepts,and strong but sketchy line work that drew you to the character./pos

Each piece I see you draw has muted greens and browns and blues, with slight orange highlighting through fire or other things. If the change isn't making you happy, it definitely might be the color switch because of how much you talk about liking those pop colors! Going back into oranges and yellows mainly. You also used to only do bright backgrounds with funky shapes while now you focus on cool landscaping and atmosphere. Idk I just know how hard it can be to try to figure out what's bothering you about your art! It takes ages to figure it out and find something you like again. Hope this helps! We'll love anything you do or don't do!

ahhhhhhhh yehah . yeah yup. genuinely thank u for telling me this. i think its because i keep pushing myself to improve and to me that means landscapes and shit like u mentioned, atmosphere and fuzzy lines. soft and well put together i guess. bc thats what ur told ur supposed to get good at. i kinda didnt realize how much my art has changed til u wrote it all out like this . the old art i was talking about was very much the old joy and madeline stuff where my lineart was hard and thin and very textured and i didn't even need color. idkm im very mixed up

A lot of times people will act like Jimmy and Kim (or Chuck or anyone really) are just evil and doing things for no reason, but honestly their actual reasons make them far more pitiful than just “they’re just like that”. lived my whole life in guilt bc i thought i was responsible for people's feelings. newly realizing that other people are responsible for their feelings and reactions, even if they make it seem like i'm the problem. a lot of the time it really has to do w them and their own emotional regulation. i can't keep thinking i'm not allowed to have space bc of other people's insecurities. like i literally refuse to dim myself. other people are responsible for their feelings just as i'm responsible for mine.
