Review for “Long Distance Lover” By Donna Hill

Just got finished reading, "Long Distance Lover" by DonnaHill. It talked about a woman (Kelly Maxwell), who was a track star with a disability that she had hidden from the word, but not her Coach (David Livingston).

The coach used her secret to dominated her. During practice; she suffered an injury, which caused them to travel to New York city to see a doctor (Alex Hutchinson) that was the best. This doctor is immediately attracted to Kelly, but first, they had to fight their attraction for each other. Alex had a situation and the coach was alway hovering over her.

That was all going to change once the Coach had to rush back to Atlanta (hometown) to find another assistant coach since the original one became ill. When he left it gave Kelly and Alex more time to spend with each other; the more time they spent together, he knew this wouldn't be right to date one of his patients so he removed himself from her case; he didn't want to break any rules. Their relationship helped her to face her disability head on as well as his issue.

The story was good and it was fast pace; the main characters fell for each other too quickly. I wanted the relationship to build more; such as working on her getting better made him fall for her more because of the conversations they had during her sessions.  The rival between the main character and her teammate was talked about but wasn't shown enough (only one-time interaction). The book main focus was on the Coach, Kelly, and Alex...everyone else was fillers. I guess the author didn’t want it to be cliche; the same old same; where the woman who likes the man (and can not have him) puts a negative bug about the man (Alex) into the woman's (Kelly) ear and play her like a puppet. It could have gone that way or another, I just wanted more interaction with the teammate and the ex-girlfriend. 

Nonetheless;  it still was a good read.

Most of these books were good only a few were great. A couple I can’t remember many details not because I read them quickly, but because of no impact. . Gravel Heart & Stay With Me . Kindred (graphic novel) . Children of Blood and Bone (excerpt) . My all time favorite (even bad it’s good) authors -Breakfast in Bed -Surrender yo Me -Seeking Sarah *I haven’t read a bad book by these authors . To Wager Her Heart . The Mothers and Pretty, Nasty, Lovely . . These are the order of impact for me. All in all I’m happy to have read them. Have you read any of these?
