Okay I've had this thought rotting in my brain for like weeks now and I have the mighty n e e d to get it out now (SONIC FRONTIERS SPOILERS AT THE END BEWARE)

Sonic is not only exhausted right now, but he is also fucking touch starved.

THINK ABOUT IT

Before Sonic Forces, he was fine. Sure, he wasn't big on touch and all that, but that's pretty much the norm for him. But then, he gets captured, and for six months straight not only did he probably not get proper sleep, but he couldn't see his friends, nor could he give/receive friendly touches like high fives and fist bumps, but hands were hurting him for six months straight.

As soon as he comes out of his imprisonment he has to deal with a whole ass war that he missed half of, like didn't even get a day to rest or anything, and was most likely running on pure adrenaline (the game didn't show this at ALL but I choose to ignore this and say so myself 😤😤) until it was all over. He gets to rest a couple of weeks after thankfully, I want to say at least a month before the whole Neo Metal/Mr. Tinker thing happened (BECAUSE THE COMICS ARE CANON TO THE GAMES NOW) , which is good.

But way too short of a break/time to process everything because right after all of that the Metal Virus arc happens.

Once again Sonic can't touch anyone, this time he has to physically force himself not to, and physically force himself not to fall asleep. I want to guess that this lasts for at least two-three weeks, and it was very clear just how much that whole crisis was affecting him. Not only that but he had to watch so many people--his friends included--turn into zombots, which I can only imagine feels almost the same as watching someone die. He didn't have to watch it happen to Cream but god his face when he realized what happened....

And then, some time after that, Frontiers happens. Once again, Sonic is alone. Once again, he can't technically touch his friends despite them being there right in his face, and I can only imagine that's a whole new torture for him. Once again, he is hardly able to sleep, has to fight giant ass Titans, turn into Super Sonic so many more times than he has ever had to (which I KNOW is absolutely draining because in Unleashed he fucking FAINTS from using the Chaos Emeralds) all the while fighting off a cybervirus thing that practically killed him.

To make it all that much worse, all of his friends are leaving. To go find themselves. Yes, this is amazing, yes, it makes me very happy and probably makes him happy (NOT TO MENTION PROUD) too, but the fact that he won't be seeing them as often just adds that perfect little cherry on the top. He is ALONE alone. Again!!

This boy needs so many hugs that at this point it's just so freaking sad. I bet it's like he really desperately wants them but a. Doesn't know how to ask and b. Is incredibly confused on wanting hugs/touch but also not wanting hugs/touch because he doesn't want to burden them because they're supposed to be leaving and he doesn't want to worry them/keep them around longer than they intend to be and--

God just thinking about this. It hurts me in so many ways I can't 😭😭

AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON PRIME. DONT EVEN DO IT

I feel so bad for our main three... Sonic is gonna be locked in his Gaia form for a long time, Shadow is gonna be stressing about the details, and poor little Chip is gonna be pushing himself to do all that he can to keep the team intact. I don't know if Tails is coming along for the ride, which he probably isn't, but if he is I really wanna see his reaction to the Werehog form.

OKOKOK I AINT GETTIN SIDETRACKED TODAY BINCH-

Seeing Sonic just staring at Shadow in that last panel has a lot of meanings/implications btw. First, it means that he's trying to clue into whatever Shadow is talking about with Rouge, aka himself. He knows it's something about him because he just has this gut feeling, and watching his boo talking in such a low tone like this... To Sonic it doesn't feel right. Before the previous night, the two weren't really withholding much information from each other, and there was rarely an air of secrecy between the two. They got along just fine! But after what happened with the Gaia monsters and Sonic accidentally going apeshit, there is suddenly this weird rift between the two that Sonic can feel, and he can tell that it's getting bigger and bigger by the hour. He doesn't want that. So, he's trying to listen in on what Shadow's saying to Rouge, hoping that if he knew more then there would be a better chance in fixing his relationship with Shadow.

And that's not even getting into how the guy feels responsible for said rift in their dynamic-

Oh and of course we can't forget the other implication of him staring, which is just him staring because he's in love or whatever. (Gay gay homosexual gay)

Another thing I want to note about Chip is that the poor guy just wants to help! :( He's doing all that he can to keep Sonic and Shadow from splitting apart, because even he can tell that something is up. He doesn't know exactly how to fix it, but he does know that honesty is a good policy. That's one of the only things he knows in ethics let's be real. So since he knows that being honest is the equivalent to being trustworthy and a good person, he tries to clue Tails in just a little, dropping some hints here and there about Sonic's condition, while also being super vague. (I think that's what the quicksand thing was about?? Sorry it's been a while lol) Meanwhile Shadow is trying to do the exact opposite, trying to keep everyone as out of the loop as they can except for Team Dark, because A. They're his family, and B. They already knew. Unbeknownst to him, this isn't a good way to handle a kid, and this is not what good parenting looks like, so it unfortunately dampens Chip's mood, which is something that he and the reader DOES NOT WANT.

WHY DO WE HAVE A PANEL WITH SAD CHIP NOW WHY WE DIDNT ASK FOR THIS OKAY WE DIDNT NEED THIS IT IS NOT OKAY WE ARE NOT FINE AFTER THAT-

Hello, @fann1details! I'm so glad you like my analysis of Nine! Of course, I still take requests. And I love analyses for the same reason, that's why I do it, to pick apart what I think the writers are trying to convey in this character or scene or whatnot so I'm glad it helps you too!

I have been planning a thunderstorm fic yes! Every Sonic and Tails, or in this case Nine, fan writer should have a thunderstorm fic of the two!

Here's one that I've been drafting out for a while, I hope you like it.

Thunderstorms are the worst.

Those loud cracks of thunder made Nine flinch, reminding him of how sensitive his ears were. While he was lucky to be in his base and not outside to see the lightning, which made him shudder due to how electricity was used against him during his time in the council. He, with Sonic's help, managed to escape the tyrants and was now on the run.

Now they were merely hiding out in Nine's lab, which the fox knew they wouldn't find them there. The hedgehog was currently upstairs, cooking chili, the spicy but pleasant scent lingered around the base. Nine found it a nice gesture, and one greatly appreciated. Lately, all he ate was whatever he could find, like protein bars, and juice, and if he got lucky some pieces of ham or sausage he managed to steal.

Of course, they had to go to a store to get the cans of chili. Only, the thunderstorm had started long before that. He tried to hide his flinching as best as he could and tried to suppress his shudders when a bolt of lightning shot through the sky. Sonic didn't need to know his weaknesses.

But still even after he didn't show a sign of fear and they had the chili, the blue blur still glanced at him with some kind of worry. Nine figured it wasn't that Sonic thought he was weak in storms, he was much too nice for that, but perhaps the other him, 'Tails', dealt with...problems from thunderstorms.

He managed to hide it, being lucky that when he failed, the hedgehog wasn't looking. They finally made it to the lab, and the hedgehog went ahead and worked on something to eat. Nine greatly appreciated the gesture, and he resumed working on a random invention.

He paused as he realized he was missing a part, he moved over to where the spare bolts and screws were kept, using his metal tails to reach the top of the shelf, only that was when the biggest clap of thunder decided to strike.

When it happened Nine found himself yelping in fear, flinching, falling over due to the sudden movements, instinctively making his metal tails hold onto something and grab the shelf, causing it to fall on him with a loud crash.

Nine groaned, feeling the bruises the impact of the metal holder left.

"Nine!", he heard the voice of his companion yell as they ran down to see what that sudden yell and crash was, finding the urchin two feet away from the mess, "You ok? What happened?"

The Kitsune looked over at the blue blur, finding nothing but concern and panic in his gaze. Not being able to resist, he fired a snarky comment in response, grunting in between due to being under a heavy object.

"What do you think happened?... Ugh...Yeah, I'm fine."

The hedgehog paused in embarrassment at the stupid question, instead looking over the kit as they dug themselves out of the rubble of metal. Gloved hands reached out and gently squeezed the fox's arms before the owner snatched them away.

"I said I was fine, I just fell, panicked, and grabbed the shelf. Now I'm going to have to fix it."

"How'd you fall?"

"Slipped", Nine lied, not wanting the blue urchin to know of his pathetic startle due to some force of nature. Sonic seemed to be studying his expression, seeming to look for deceit, but the fox kept his face steady, and the hedgehog relaxed, relief flooding his gaze.

"Well, I'm glad nothing was broken. Anyway, the food's ready-"

He was cut off by another loud clap of thunder and a yelp of fear from the kit. The fox covered his mouth, but it was too late. The hedgehog looked at him with sympathy in his gaze, a small smile forming.

"Aw, buddy."

Nine stayed quiet, sending the urchin a glare. He wrapped his arms around himself as he turned his back to the sympathetic hero. He closed his eyes waiting for the mocking laughter but it never came. Instead, he felt a hand gently rubbing his head, finding the other in front of him, still looking at him with kindness.

Then the spikey speedster spoke, telling him it was alright to be scared, stating that everyone was scared of something. Nine huffed not believing him until the hedgehog told him about his fear of water, surprising the fox.

Sonic spoke that he couldn't even get knee-deep in water without squirming, and the kit found himself relaxing, then the spikey mobian suddenly speed off bringing back two bowls of chili to eat. They spoke, providing each other comfort, forgetting all about the storm outside, eating spicy delicious chili.

For the first time, Nine felt at home.

OK PREPARE FOT NOT BE AMAZED BC I AM AN SHITTY TOWARDS AU:

So you know how Xenophane sonic, tortured tails, knuckles and eggman right? Ans he is an possesed sonic or an shape shift demon.

On the video ,sonic saved everyone including eggman ,and transformed all of them in their super form, you know super tails,super knuckles and super eggman? He did that while he was in hyper Sonic so everything seen fine, xenophane is destroyed and they have their corpses back that is fine.

Until tails tries to not be super tails anymore, and his body start to give up on him, like his eyes melted away like acid, and his arms tried to rip themselves off, he was screaming in pain, before deciding that he wanted to be super again, and with that it was like never of the pain he suffered when he was normal was not real.

So obviously eggman and knuckles are like "wtf just happen to you? And would that happen to me?" But they where to afraid to make an move to be back to normal, and sonic sense that his friends need someone that can be normal to help them goes back to being blue.

But he started to hear an voice,a very creepy and eerie voice and presence, that would said and try to convince him, to let them in on their body, sonic mortified by it, wish the voice to be gone, and his body goes hyper Sonic and the voice is nothing like an whisper now ,and he will not say anything to tails and knuckles (and eggman because he knows he will just say that to tails and knuckles and will break them more) because he dont want to make them worried about him.

So is basically everyone on the mod, is stuck on super and hyper form, if they go back to normal they or die(triple trouble team) or be possessed this time for real by xeno.

And it would be just super shenanigans and some angst.

Sphinx will behave differently around other Infinite muses. It will learn and adapt. It will treat every single one the same, but it may be more disobedient if the version of Infinite it interacts with is much more different from the one it serves. If you are an Infinite, and would like to interact with it as a member of your unit, please let me know beforehand so that we can work out an appropriate relationship dynamic. I'm pretty flexible.

Please do not try to push things onto Sphinx. It is patient, but it can only take so much.

Though I am willing to work out some kind of romance, I will be pretty honest with the fact you will be disappointed. Sphinx isn't exactly the emotional type and all of its energy goes into worrying about and being Infinite's shield unit. The same does not apply to Infinite; he is simply not interested in any relationships. This could change if the chemistry is good enough, but. er. dont get your hopes up.

Sphinx uses she/it. She will most often refer to itself as it, but it may alternate.

Please do not treat Sphinx like a child, or reduce her to "kitty". She is modeled after a cat, and it will often behave as such, but constantly demeaning it with that when she is making a clear threat is frankly a bit tiring to deal with, after a while.

Infinite is more quiet. While Sphinx may often be more laid back, Infinite is more reserved. Both tend to be aggressive.

Infinite does not like Sonic team or Team Dark. He will remain impassive and hostile towards members of both teams, but specially to Sonic and Shadow.

Asks about the Ruby are fine. Asks about Eggman and Infinite's relationship to his squad are fine.

Asks about Sphinx's function are fine.

Anything that isn't fine will be revealed as I get asks, tbh.

I just want to emphasize here that I don't hate Starline, Surge or Kit. They add a little nuance to the Sonic universe and have potential. Especially Starline! A mobian that admires and is constantly inspired by Eggman. It's different. It's nice.

What isn't nice is how Starline's character solely relies on Eggman's absolute and utter incompetence. It downplays the main antagonist of the franchise for ... what? I don't know.

1.) Eggman not making a vaccine for the Metal Virus. And giving up on trying to control it.

Why, why, why, why. Why. Was this a thing. His strategy of "not getting hit" is so out of place here. It's a virus. They rapidly evolve and change. Even if it didn't get hit. Who's to say it couldn't mutate.

Furthermore. It would've been a little more compelling if be actually did make the vaccine, and used it to goad its victims on his side. Maybe it wouldn't be perfect. Maybe at best it just grants conciousness again. But it would have been way more compelling to put this divide in the world than to have him just. Stop?

3.) Getting OMEGA back and then immediately losing him in the same issue.

This part after the Metal Virus was really frustrating. Bc it fell into the same trap Forces did - making Sonic's friend incompetent / weaker when Sonic arrives. It's a struggle, but it's clear this fight with Eggman and Omega has them in the upper hand. At least. Until Sonic magically arrives and Eggman just. Backs out???? For no reason????

Yes. Omega gets free. But my dude. You still have a giant fucking robot. I don't. I just -

3.) The reality breaking tower. The ad infinitum maze.

I feeeeeeel like something like this should be a big deal. Not something used for 3 issues and tossed away for a bunch of GET A LOAD OF THIS jokes. Eggman literally states it was created to hold Sonic until he burns out and dies. Mmmmm

I just don't feel like anything Eggman does has actually had impact. Substance. It's all potentially interesting ideas that get thrown out the window way too fast. But I feel like that's a lot of things in IDW.

I'm not saying Eggman has to constantly win every fight. in fact, I think the most compelling stuff is when he loses despite having an advantage. Because he is Icarus. He flies too close to the sun; his tenacity is both his greatest strength and greatest weakness.

Wouldn't you guys be slightly more invested in Starline and Eggman being equally competent villains with a fierce rivalry because they're very similar but just different enough that it causes tension? The pair constantly trying to outdo the other while leaving Sonic & co. To pick up the scraps of their fighting because of their pettiness? Sonic & co. having to worry about two threats who want very different things with the world and having to approach both of them slightly differently to stop them? I don't know, man. Just. Something. Anything.

And for what it's worth. I do enjoy IDW. I like Starline. I like Surge and Kit. They aren't bad characters. But I dont think the IDW writers know exactly how to handle them. And like. Kicking Eggman to the dirt to make the other three look better isn't the great writing they think it is.

I dont know, man. He's the main bad guy of the franchise. It's fine to add more villains, but at least give him some respect. IDW Eggman is the equivalent of a child throwing a fit and demanding to be respected.

Summary: being close friends with legolas , and joining him on the fellowship. But damn he gets too touchy , not that you didn’t like it.

You had been friends with legolas for a long time, you weren’t an elf , you were a human. Your mother was a witch but she would never hurt someone innocent,she had cast a spell causing you AMD her to become immortal. You had met legolas in Mirkwood forest , when you were young ,it did lead him to take you to his father. You only went into Mirkwood because you had wandered away from you mother and could find her. As apparently Thranduil trusted no one , after his wife died, he thought everyone who entered Mirkwood were spy’s.

You wouldn’t be surprised if people were trying to assassinate him, all he did was mock dwarves , sass, and pretend to be a princess. Eventually they let you go, when your mother came looking for you, turns out your mother was friends with the king somehow. Thranduil didn’t know she had a daughter.

Anyways after that legolas would come to see you often after that, you both soon became buddies, legolas helped training you. As Mirkwood was poisoned and there was evil growing, you needed to be able to protect yourself. Your mouth watched in awe at you and legolas training, even Thranduil did when you would go there. He didn’t really like anyone else other than elves, so it was surprising, he was a little jealous, missing his wife.

You and legolas would go adventuring around , for centuries, until 13 dwarves came to Mirkwood and everything changed. Legolas didn’t tell you about it , or them reclaiming erebor and killing azog until after it happened. He told you he was leaving to go in search of a ranger named strider and he wished for you to accompany him. You had asked why he told you about his father being cold ,controlling, and he couldn’t live in his shadow anymore.

You had agreed , bringing him into your house while you packed, your mother wasn’t home. You knew she would forbid it , not wanting to lose you so you simply wrote her a letter, leaving it on the table. Once you had packed, legolas led you to his horse, he mounted on it,holding his hand out to help you get on behind. Which you took jumping on the back with an ‘oof’ .you wrapped you arms around legolas waist ,blushing, you had been crushing the elf for a long time. You rest your head against his back, moving his hair aside. Legolas ushered the horse to go quickly before your mother arrived home.

“I swear if I lose my virginity to this horse ,legolas. I will cut your hair.” You whined, you really didn’t want to lose your virginity while riding a horse, he gasped your comment.

“That’s very dirty y/n..” you pinched him in the side , at his sarcastic

Now you sat on a horse, that Eomer had given you , with legolas sat behind you and Aragorn on another horse with gimil behind him. It was like when you had left with legolas but he was the one with his hands around your waist. You had already found Gandalf today, turns out he’s Gandalf the white now. Anyways you were on your way to Theoden ,something about him being possessed or evil.

After you found out you would have to run in search of Merry and pippin, you had quickly cut your long pants into shorts with your knife. Legolas had watched in wide eye, he had never seen your mid thighs bare. Gimil and Aragorn laughed at legolas , who you looked up at catching him starring.

“What i couldnt run fast.” That’s all you said before you all started running.

Yet still now legolas couldnt stopped staring at your leg, with his head rested on your shoulder.You were focused on getting to your destination,when you felt a hand rub against your right thigh. Legolas had removed his right arm from your waist , leaving the other clutching onto you, as he moved his hand to stroke your lower thigh. You tried to ignore him, but then his hand traveled up high, on to your inner thigh, his stroking becoming harder. You gasp,”legolas not now please.”

He smirked at your response,ghosting his hand high and higher before it got to your moose,briefly resting his hand there. You frustratedly reached you hand back to above his knee squeezing it hard, making him remove his hand quickly. “As much as I want that not here.” You muttered not sure if he even heard. When you reached Rohan you had befriended Eowyn.

Then on the eve of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, you know the place with the tents. She had forced you into a dress after confronting you on your feelings for legolas. The dress complimented your figure , making your burst look bigger and waist smaller. Not that legolas didn’t think you were beautiful anyways.

Eomer, Eowyns brother took interest in your humour and clothing before the change but after his eyes almost popped out. You about to walk to search for legolas and the others , when Eomer has approached you. “Miss y/n ,you look very beautiful tonight.” He compliments you sincerely smiling at you, “thank you Eomer.your sister made me wear it.” You has smiled back at him.

“Awe. Don’t tell anyone but she did the same thing to me when we a little younger.” He whispered, you giggled “how old were you?”

“18, she was 13” you burst out into laughter soon after he did too, unknowingly to you legolas had been watching the whole thing.”why did you agree?” You questioned trying to breathe,

“She’s very convincing what can I say!”

“I bet you looked great, next time you drsss up please invite me to see.” You smirked, only before Eomer could reply legolas had stomped over to you dragging you away.

“I look forward to see you Eomer in that dress.” You shouted to him looking back, he smiled at you , waving. He knew of legolas’ crush aswell it was clear.

Legolas dragged you Into a tent,harshly “what was that for legolas?!” You shouted angrily at him. He said nothing just placed his hand on your cheek and the other on your waist, pulling you closer. He leans down to your ear, his breath on your neck, his hand running up your side. “ you do it on purpose.” He growled, his eyes moved down your body ,”why do you have to be so beautiful.” He now whispered, pulling you into a tight hug, your breasts pressed against his chest. “Don’t you mean why am I so beautiful.” You whispered flirting with him, he grasped your chin leaning in slowly.

“OI y/n are you in here?” Someone called going to open the tent you and legolas separated quickly. “Yeah, i am.” You replied , as merry stepped in. “What are you too doing?” He asked , suspiciously. “I just came to ask legolas if he had seen any potatoes. I am really hungry.” Legolas smirked at your response, and merrys eyes lit up, “I knew you would want some potatoes come on I made some already.” He jumped towards you in excitement, grabbing YOur hand pulling you along. You looked back at legolas smiling apologetically.

After that battle , you all were drinking in celebration, after Theoden made a speech. Merry and pippin were dancing , Legolas and Gimil were having a drinking contest, which lead to Gimil passing out drunk. You sat next legolas, Aragorn infront of you both. You were a little drunk as was legolas; it made him more confident.

He spoke to Aragorn ,complaining about something you don’t know what ,you were focused on swishing your beer around in your cup. You hand had made its way on his thigh all night, eventually it was on his area , stroking harshly causing his cock to harden ,That was until legolas hand was on your thigh, going under your dress, on your bare skin. You gulped trying to ignore it, sipping your beer, then his hand gripped tight then let go to venture up higher. Legolas grabbed your arm leading you to your chambers, as soon as bayou got outside , you smacked legolas. “What were you thinking legolas.” You angrily whispered, walking fast. He shrugged,smirking. “Why in public on horse and now infront of aragorn. What the hell we aren’t together.” He grabbed your shoulders turning you to face him before smashing his lips into yours roughly, biting your lip causing you to open your mouth allowing his hungry tongue,His hands around you waist tightly.

As you pull away he whispers “I love you y/n. Too be fair you did touch me first.”

“Yes I did but the horse thing was-. I love you too princess.” You embraced Legolas tightly.
