omg i dont think u remember but yk how i mentioned in an ask that i was better than some smart dude (who i had a rivalry with) at physics?? so the "physics girl" title has been given to me (word got out that i got the highest physics exam score in my grade??) you really don't need to worry about what other ppl will think, it happens! i hope your grade doesn't fall that much if at all, but don't be so worried about what other ppl or your teacher will think. nobody will think you're a fraud or you cheated just bc you didn't do as well (and this hasn't even happened yet!) it happens to the best of us!

i hope you have enough time to plan out how you're gonna revise everything, and since you're good in physics, i believe you will ace it this time too. it doesn't even have to be as good as last time, but around that grade should be fine! I think so too. It's scary, how similar that sounds to how I feel - the type of love I have for people feels too raw and intense for ... well. Most anyone. the short of it is that people on ao3 are getting a little weird with me and i needed to put some space between me and the fandom

(tumblr people, you are all sweet and nice dont worry this isnt really you)

i posted a chapter and i got like five messages saying stuff like "i hate the characters" "this chapter pissed me off" "did anyone else wish that the ending was different?" i moderated the comments on the fic and people started leaving me comments under other fics that were in the same vein of criticism. criticism is fine, i want to be clear, but that kind of talk is inappropriate for the context. im not a content creator, or someone mass producing entertainment, and when people leave me comments, i actually get emails from ao3. so i got like 5 emails that were just "fuck these characters" and nothing else. im not a public figure, im a fellow fan, im just Some Guy posting silly fanfiction on the internet, but people are starting to treat my stuff like its """"Content"""" to be discussed and critiqued and analyzed.

these messages came from people who enjoyed my writing. they left kudos and bookmarks and when i interacted with them, they were respectful and tried to banter with me. these messages arent coming from trolls, theyre coming from people who like my stuff, and honeslty that kind of made it worse.

my stories usually get very positive feedback. for context, heres my stats

the numbers say theyre doing well and i tried not to internalize the negative comments im getting but its overwhelming.

im a clown, not a jester. my first and foremost intention is to entertain myself, not to entertain other people.

so i yeeted the rose name and im trying to transition into a more anonymous removed state because thats kind of the way people on ao3 are viewing me and for my own sanity im just going to comply. i started deleting negative comments and i think im done responding to people on ao3 unless it's someone i know and like or the message really touches me.

the name change isnt really a Tumblr problem, its an AO3 problem. when i have time to sit down, ill be fixing my tags and stuff to reflect the Nobody name.

anon who doesnt have aspd and taught myself empathy here yet again! i am Now Thinking and remembering that a huge part of why i've never tried to go to therapy or anything is coz like i Know i'd use what i learn to like, manipule ppl better and shit. i enjoy playing w ppl Too much and coz Fun Childhood i've been good at it all my life, but cognitively i recognise its bad so it would be bad and not fair for me to go to therapy and get even better at it and manipulate ppl i love for my own fun. and like even i dont do illegal shit or even like drink alcohol or smoke coz then i can keep the moral high ground in arguments w ppl and i can say whatever i want and call em out on shit and create a fuss for them and stir the pot and they cant call me a hypocrite. like so much of what i do is about making sure i have a level of ability to manipulate and control ppl and situations. so many behaviours which arent explained by autism, idk why i've just brushed all of them aside except that i've gotten bored by overthinking abt them, and ive mostly gotten to a point where they're under control and im content w life

but back to remorse and empathy i honestly just think they're not really necessarily useful things and ppl place so much importance on "oh im such a good person i have so much empathy" but will also use their empathy/remorse to control ppl? like i know ppl w bpd who use their genuine guilt and worries and stuff to get ppl to feel sorry for them and indulge them instead of confronting and working on it. like even ppl w/o mental illness will sometimes try to use the fact they feel bad abt smth to erase their culpability instead of actually fixing their mistakes. it can be confronting for them that some ppl can be like "oh shit i made a mistake. fuck. oh well" (and sometimes fix their mistake/take responsibility) w/o remorse or other emotions to it coz i think it makes them realise their emotion doesnt absolve them

(consequently, if you're too scared, that's Moral, however you Didn't Fight Back, which means you were acting Illogically, and Had It Coming, therefore you are Bad) which is hypocritical as fuck! ive taken responsibility w/o remorse and i've takne responsibility with remorse and remorse is Not the important part of this argument, it's emotional intelligence.

Read your tags on that one post and the fact that Jotaro is an awful father is heart wrenching tbh. If you asked me during part 3 if I think Jotaro would be a good father I'd say yes given his interactions with the children they meet on their journey. I would say Part 4 even supports that idea, but then you hit Part 6 and he's just such an awful father. And I get that's kind of the point! but still.

Jolyne was robbed of a father and it's Jotaro's choices that cause it, yes, but I'd say Jotaro is also robbed of the chance to BE proper father by his experiences and circumstances. Mind you, I'm not trying to absolve him from blame, but I really do like to think Jotaro would have been a great father had his experiences not reinforced his bad tendencies/mentalities, leading to him make that choice to be absent.

dont worry anon i get it completely i agree it’s indicative of the larger tragedy of jotaro and it makes me sick cause he chose this tragedy for himself cause he was a traumatized teenager and he desperately clung to a philosophy that would give him some sort of control over losing his loved ones while also punishing himself. i have a bunch of posts on this it fucks me up so bad how jotaro likely only started distancing himself after part 4 which is when the standusers attract standusers thing came into play, and it culminates in the deaths of a child (shigechi) and a capable adult (aya), it drags in adjacent nonstandusers (josuke’s grandpa, hayato, shinobu, tomoko in the july15th arc, etc). like this fucking terrified him jolyne was only 6 at the time. he did not have jolyne while planning to abandon her but part 4 happens and it terrifies him cause he does not want to be the reason jolyne or her mom end up like the crusaders, end up like the townspeople in morioh, so he leaves. and it fucks me up even worse knowing that jotaro doesnt distance himself to hurt jolyne he never ever wanted to hurt her he isjust very, to put it bluntly, self absorbed in the way he loves using his love for other people to punish himself like it’s ABOUT HURTING HIMSELF so he doesnt even THINK if he’s hurting anyone else not because he’s uncaring but because he is so fuckibg mentally ill and well anyway i just. god. i have ten million posts about this but god it never gets any easier

thank you so much for your kind words !! september went really well and she didn't show up ! i was a bit stressed, and did spend the first two days feeling incredibly sick from stomach cramps. on the bright side, i invited my friend down and spoke to her and her mum about the trauma and they both said that it sounds like i have ptsd (i trust them both on their opinions because my friend has ptsd from something in her childhood that affected her really badly, so she has first-hand experience about living with ptsd). they both suggested that i go to therapy, which i think my parents are warming up to, but we're all concerned about social services getting involved. we've had negative experiences with social services before, and we dont want them making a fuss of things. we're also worried that i might not be believed or that it will get downplayed as 'sibling rivalry.' although, sometimes my parents backtrack and downplay it themselves and say that it 'wasnt that bad' which really, really hurts. i've given up trying to explain how her abuse affected me and i dont really talk about it with my parents anymore, since my mum always brings up something from her childhood which was worse. sometimes i start to wonder if im making it all up for attention, and that my hatred towards her is distorting things...then i remember my lack of memories, a particular event when i was around 12/13 that terrified me, and a mental breakdown i had in the school locker room, in the middle of the day, because of the gaslighting text messages she sent me.

my sister's been causing trouble recently because it was my birthday in early december (the only birthday i can remember was last year's and the year before—i cut her off three months before that first birthday i can remember) and then it was christmas, so she wanted presents. she also changed her name to her birth father's name (we have separate dads, thank god) which upset my mum quite a lot. it didnt help that my mum's side of the family spent christmas together and never invited us down, which sucked and made us realise that, to them, my parents and i aren't very important to my toxic family members. i got over that pretty quickly, though.

i do have a question: how do i comfort myself when im triggered/feeling sad or overwhelmed from the abuse? my dog and rabbit died within three months of each other, and they were my main sources of comfort whenever things got too much or mental illness was too bad. now that they're gone, though, im finding myself feeling quite disconnected from reality—especially now that my rabbit is gone. everything seems more overwhelming then it did before. im not sleeping well, or im sleeping too much (either way im still exhausted when i get up) and i seem to be getting triggered more and more by physical touch and sounds.

I'm really glad your sister didn't show up during September after all, and really glad you had people around you who were understanding about your trauma.

I'm sorry your parents haven't been as supportive as they should be, though. It's awful that they try to downplay your abuse and tell you they went through worse. If your mum had experiences she considers "worse" than yours, then she should go to therapy herself so she can talk about them, and not use them to downplay your own experiences. Trauma isn't a competition, and what matters isn't who had it "worse". What matters is what each individual person needs so they can be safe and eventually heal and/or learn to live with their trauma. I'm glad you have proof of your sister's abuse that you can resort to when doubt starts creeping in. But just in case you need to hear it: no, you are not making anything up for attention. Your sister abused you.

Ugh, it sucks that she caused trouble again during Christmas and your birthday. It's great that you got over all of it quickly, but you shouldn't have to put up with her or any toxic family member's crap.

Also, I'm really sorry for your loss :( It's always hard to lose a pet, but I can't imagine how devastating it must be when they were your main source of comfort when triggered.

Here is a list of healthy coping skills you can check out. Since your pets used to help you, maybe you can try soothing yourself through touch, like using stuffed toys, blankets or soft clothes. They might have the same effect as holding your pets close did. Smells can also be very helpful; have you got any blankets that smell like them? Are there any other smells in general that you like and that you can carry around with you?

Something that can also help is to make an easily accessible list of things that soothe you as you find them. You can make it (and update it) when you're feeling fine, and that way, you'll be able to look at it when you get triggered and you won't have to come up with ways to soothe yourself when you're already in that state of emotional distress.

Alongside the list, you can even have an emergency box filled with things that bring you comfort, like soft toys, fidget toys, things that smell nice, or anything else you can think of that might distract you or make you feel better. When I made mine, I filled it with sticker sheets because stickers soothe me, and also with lists of all my comfort shows, movies and videogames.

Other than that, have you considered adopting another pet? It' might not be a possibility, but if it is, I think it could really help, since you already know that being near animals when you're triggered helps you calm down.
