Do you have any idea what I would have to do to keep a good standing with the hench union?! When you're the foil for planetary heroes you have have to have 3 deep scheduling, and black hole incident coverage for all of them. I'd have to cut staff. No no no, this operation is strictly focused on the Purple Pincer. We deal with ocean and pollution schemes. And as a bonus we have an abundance of crab and lobster from her adventures.

Now if you'll excuse me, I believe Pincer is about to sneak aboard our secret invisible fishing boat. So I simply must get the fog machine ready.

Hydra's Shifting Log

(DETOX WEEK FROM SHIFTING MEDIA)

The detox week kicked off with a bang! On day one, I actually got lucid and grounded enough to try shifting. I set the intention to shift, but picking a specific place and time to wake up in was trickier than expected. As a result, I found myself bouncing between dreams until, eventually, I lost lucidity altogether.

The first few nights were filled with DR dreams. I quickly realized that the less junk I fed my brain during the day, the easier it was to guide my thoughts at night. The less DR content I consumed in my waking hours, the more my brain naturally gravitated toward DR-related experiences at night.

By day three, I was focused on visualizing a specific room from my DR house. When I fell asleep, I dreamed of that exact room. It wasn’t just any dream though — it felt like a message, like someone had planted that image in my mind or maybe I pulled it from my DR self’s memories.

Days four and seven were especially interesting. I got vivid memories of two conversations I had in my THG DR. The first one was pretty long, but I could grasp the general flow. The second one was even more detailed, almost as if it was etched into my mind. I could recite the conversation word for word, seeing every expression and gesture.

On day five, I dreamed about my S/O from a DR I had just scripted the day before.

And then on day six, I went to bed thinking about someone I hadn’t heard from in months, and boom — manifested them reaching out! (since I see shifting and manifestation as the same thing, I’d say I shifted)

This detox week was eye-opening. It taught me a lot about what I need to improve on my journey and really showed me how crucial it is to carve out time for myself.

I’m already thinking about doing another detox starting tomorrow.

Plus, I might share some of the DR memories I got... who knows...

People were knocking on Kai’s characterization in DR but I don’t see what’s the problem?

He comes off as one of the wisest of the old gen ninja and is easily able to connect with new kids without the baggage of being a legend by meeting them at their level. By being a little silly.

It helps that we’ve passed the point of retreading old ground for the sake of drama: “i’m a hothead and family is danger so i’m going to do something incredibly risky that’s going to mess things up.” or “why i am unworthy/inferiority complex.” They’re finally letting him progress in the spotlight. No longer trapped in the character progression loop!

And because other characters run through his old beats he gets to bestow his wisdom. Telling them he was in their position and respecting where they come from. This happens with Wyldfyre and Cole (and lowkey Nya) and it works so well because Kai gets to be competent. And if there’s one thing I thank DR for is balancing Kai’s silliness and competence.

Purple Pincer stood in the middle of the deck, wisps of fog whipping up around her face, gobsmacked.

"I mean, I got to quit my second job cause of of this" The yellow coated henchmen yelled over the surf. The wind blew more of the fog up around the two. "And the premiu- GARY! GARY CAN YOU TURN THE FOG MACHINE DOWN" he yelled into the hold. "YEAH, 5 is too much now, take it back to 3."

Purple Pincer was getting angry, "And that's enough for you to scare off the other fishermen and mutate all the clams!"

The henchmen held up his hands in exasperation, "look I don't come up with the evil plans, Dr. Progress proposed this a year ago, we've spent months on it"

Purple Pincer pointed her fist in a karate stance, "He won't get away with this!" The lobster strapped to her gauntlet snapped it's claws finishing the action pose they practiced all week.

“Stand down! Join the side of justice!” The hero exclaimed at the villain’s henchmen. “But why? Our boss gives us healthcare, paid vacations, and homes for our familes to live safely.”

Hydra's Shifting Log (jan 22nd, 2025)

Hello, loves!

After what feels like centuries, I’m finally back with a Shifting Log, because I’ve finally made progress with a DR that’s not IWTV for once!

Lately, my mindset hasn’t been in the best place, and I’ve found myself stuck in a shifting slump.

That’s why I think it's important to celebrate even the smallest victories, now more than ever!!

Well, long story short... I got a memory from my THG DR!

DR CONTEXT

My first "serious" DR was actually the second one I ever created — The Hunger Games.

Unlike my very first DR, which I impulsively made right after discovering shifting (simply because I wanted to try it out, but wasn’t really invested in the reality I picked), I truly cared about this DR.

Suzanne Collins’ books have always held a special place in my heart. Growing up during the peak of the dystopian genre, I looked up to Katniss as a role model. Even before I knew about shifting, I felt an intense connection to the world of THG. I longed to live in an alternate, peaceful version of Panem, where I could spend my days with my favorite people.

So, when I learned about shifting, there was no doubt in my mind: THG would be one of my main DRs.

PROGRESS

Since THG was one of my very first DRs, I didn’t make much progress with it. Back then, I was just starting my shifting journey, and my mindset wasn’t in the best place.

Over time, I created new DRs and naturally began to focus on those instead.

Last summer, though, something finally clicked.

My mindset improved, and I started seeing real success with my attempts. The catch? My focus wasn’t on THG anymore — it was on Interview with the Vampire.

As a result, 99% of my progress ended up being related to IWTV rather than THG.

FIXING MY SCRIPT

I eventually realized that the reason I had been ignoring THG for so long was because I wasn’t happy with my script. Subconsciously, this was holding me back from connecting with the DR. It dampened my excitement and made me hesitant to put effort into going there.

After putting it off for so long, I finally decided to go back to my roots, be honest with myself, and fix everything I didn’t like about my script.

What pushed me to make this choice was the upcoming release of the new book in the saga. It reignited my excitement for the world of THG and reminded me just how much it still meant to me. I realized I wasn’t ready to let it go and that I truly wanted to reconnect with it.

After a week of focusing on my DR, I finally got a download of information while trying to fall asleep.

It was about a spot in the district I live in, along with a memory tied to it.

THE MEMORY

WHERE

Context: I live in District 4—the fishing district, Finnick Odair's district.

I’ve scripted very little about my district, only the location of my house and its general setting. But honestly, I have no idea what the district actually looks like, and I’m eager to find out.

The download was about an old, wooden fishing shack on the water. According to the memories connected to it, it’s a popular bar in District 4, a favorite hangout spot for sailors, and likely one of the centers of life in the district.

The planks were dark, weathered, and uneven, clearly showing signs of age. Fishing nets, rusted metal bars, and other random items were scattered around the outside, making it look disorganized and worn. The large windows were grimy, offering no view of the inside.

It had a forbidden feel to it, like a place where shady deals were made, and it instantly reminded me of The Hob in District 12.

I tried so hard to remember the name of the place, but all I could come up with was The Old Shack*, which is probably just how my friend group refers to it.

*Upon reflection, it might've been called The Old Sailor/The Old Salt(??)

WHAT

Context: I know for a fact that all the bedrooms in my house are upstairs — except for mine. This is because when we first moved in, I specifically requested a ground-floor room so that I could sneak out of the house undisturbed whenever I wanted.

The memory I got was from my teenage years. Since my parents are quite permissive, I never really thought I had ever snuck out behind their backs... this memory changed everything.

According to my memory, the old shack was in a not-so-pretty part of town — somewhere my parents would’ve never let me go.

Fate led me to meet a dark-haired guy from that part of town — a local who knew the place well and was well-liked by its regulars.

One night, I snuck out to go there with him.

He apparently thought it was a date, but I was just trying to be the rebellious kid, eager to experience a different, riskier side of town without feeling unsafe (this also leads me to believe that I must have had some reason to trust the guy).

I don’t think my parents ever found out, and I believe I never went back after that failed date.

Sometimes I remember that I created my own fantasy world with sirens, elfs, fairies, giants, etc... that I can be an artist with Taylor Swift as my bsf and keeping Michael Jackson alive, that I can be in my favorite movie AND EVERYTHING I WANT. I can't wait to shift to all the realities I could ever imagine... I LOVE being a shifter.

Who knew it would take Dr. Robotnik and his freaky ahh agent husband to get me into animating.

I've put my previous comic on hold for the time being since I got too obsessed with a little AU I thought of (is it an original idea? Who knows(?) I haven't seen it around, so I'm going to say so).

Summary of said AU: basically, after SM3, Stone goes a little insane, and by the power of whatever higher power there is, he's able to conjure/heavily hallucinate Ivo into somewhat existing. Some angst here and there, but they end up in the past pre-SM1, and because Stone is stupid and delusional, he's like, "Omg, I can start again!" (No, he cannot, but oh well, ruin the whole timeline, I guess.) They meet their past selves; Stone kills his past self and, in a way, kidnaps pre-SM1 Ivo. Now both Stone and Pre-SM1-Ivo are being haunted by a ghost Stone and a hallucination Ivo, while the latter are just having the time of their lives being silly (not really; they're both having trouble processing not being alive/real but still being there).

That's where I'm up till now. I haven't really thought about what happens afterwards, but hopefully some of you guys were able to make sense of my ramblings.

Anyway, they're taking over my brain, so I might post them some more later on, maybe even write a fanfic for their story.
