Having a board games and fruit party this weekend--today I bought the fruit!

Look at all this fruit!

The classics: pineapple, oranges (pink ones!), cantaloupe, apples (3 kinds), avocado, grapes, cherries, kiwis, bananas, pears (2 kinds).

Here's the fancy, "don't see that every day" section: pomelo, guava, coconut, papaya, dragonfruit, pomegranate, plantain, passionfruit.

And finally, Berry Frenzy! Also with plums, because I forgot to put them in the "classics" photo.

That concludes the fresh-fruit portion of the program, but we still have....

The bonus "dried fruit and sorbet" category! There is a raspberry sorbet and a watermelon sorbet (the latter of which is a bonus item for Ice-cream Quest), and dried mango, apricots, and mixed berries.

Whew! It feels very decadent, having all this fruit in January. I usually stick to whatever Aldi has on special, plus abundant local fruit in summer, so it was kind of fun going to different stores to see how much I could find. Like a fruit scavenger hunt.

They’re seated downstairs in the kitchen. Egg swings his small legs as he happily eats spoonful after spoonful of lemonade swirl. Yummy! And and and nothing hurts in his mouth now, just this odd tingling with the coldness of the ice cream!

Ingoldo beams at him. He too is eating spoonful after spoonful of the dragonfruit sorbet ice cream. 

“What happens to my tooth now, hanno?” Egg asks, eyes wide.

Ingoldo ponders this question most seriously. “Hmmm. We wash it up, then put it in a small bag, and then put it under your pillow. Tomorrow, when you wake, a maia of Namo will have left you a gift!”

“Woah!” Egg exclaims. “That’s so cool, hanno! I get a gift for every tooth I lose?”

Ingoldo laughs his brilliant laughter. “Ai, Aikanar! Not for every tooth you lose, darling. For every baby tooth you lose, the maiar of Namo give you one gift.”

“But– but what if I’m grown up and I lose a big elf tooth?”

“It doesn’t work that way, love,” Ingoldo wrinkles his pretty nose. “Only for baby teeth.”

Egg pouts. Aw. Awwww. Oh well. He eats another spoonful of ice cream.

@biff-adventurer - Beef Stroganoff. Just... Beef Stroganoff. Every time I see their name, I always see Beef Stroganoff.

@spotofmummery - Fruit salad. Given Amon outfit's color scheme, I'd imagine it'd be predominantly filled with red fruits like apple slices and strawberries as well as purple fruits like blueberries and plum slices (plum has orange-yellowish flesh so that works with his yellow accents as well). Maybe with a light drizzle of condensed milk and some black sesame seeds for a crunch.

@miqomischief - I'll focus on Bram since they're the one I frequently see in my dash. I'd like to think of Bram as a refreshing dragonfruit and bloodorange sorbet. Maybe with a cheeky sprinkles of crushed gold leaf to complete the look.

@pinxli - Strawberry milkshake with vanilla or colorful caramel swirls ice cream on top.

@gunbreakmyheart - Classic oreo. With a glass of plain milk besides. Nuff said.

More about Marie.

- Adores comics and is making her own fan webcomic on the side focusing on a series she loves. She’s a regular patron at The Tome Tomb.

- Marie’s part of Tempo’s culinary shop union. Specifically, she and other businesses / shops working with and selling food have formed an official group to support each other. Organizing shared events, fair prices, fair wages, mutual advertisement, finding local and reliable suppliers, working out menus, etc.

She was a nervous wreck the first time she attended. All of the other members were older and more experienced than her, and what could she bring to Tempo with her ice cream that wasn’t already covered by the Pepper’s restaurant?

She had an anxiety attac in the middle of the meeting and excused herself to the bathroom. Felt like she had made a huge mistake and embarrassed herself. Mr. and Mrs. Pepper went looking for and comforted her.

Once calm and returning to the meeting, the other members agreed that everything was okay. She was only in her early twenties and new at this thing. They didn’t linger on this, to remove the attention from Marie, and gave a short explanation how their union worked.

- Pepper Paradiso has milkshakes but their speciality are dishes balancing sweetness and spice.

Pinkies sells ice cream scoops over the counter. But their speciality is special menu focusing on ice cream bowls / sundaes with a pink theme, with all shades that can be worked into the sweets as the main color. This also goes for some shades of purple. Other colors / flavors are used for contrast.

There’s a lot of heart-shaped things because of the association with the color - bowls, sprinkles, silly straws, sometimes the ice creams and sorbets. For Halloween, Pinkies once made an ice cream cake that looked like a human heart for a customer’s party.

There’s the Flamingo Sundae, served in a high glass bowl. One scoop of strawberry, raspberry, dragonfruit, and cherry ice cream each, with a pink candy cane shaped to look like the neck and the head of a flamingo. It’s topped with a candied cherry and generous drizzles of strawberry syrup. The candy cane is self made.

Tangent on Halloween:

Marie has a good eye for design and color coordination. She and her three employees who make the sundae have worked out at least two special recurring bowls for Halloween that are wholly in the spirit of spooky things and very pink still. (One is a sundae that evokes a human brain.)

Recently, Lewis has requested a special ice cream cake for his birthday. Or rather, Vivi and Arthur have. He’s still recovering from his accident and bout of amnesia and needs a little bit of comfort.

He’s begun designing these cute little ghost whisps in magenta, pink, and violet, with yellow hearts on their chests. Pinkies is asked to make an ice cream cake in the shape of one of these “Deadbeats”, with some references to music.

I like peaches and cream, Thronè likes raspberry pie, Castti likes blueberry cobbler, Ochette likes- ...I’m- not sure what Ochette likes. There was a type of berry in Cropdale that she said she enjoyed, but I can’t seem to recall it...

Personality- She embodies the qualities of sex appeal and intelligence. She's highly aware & sure of her confidence and sexuality as well as taking pride on how articulate she is. She feels as though there's no trade off or risk in sacrificing brains or beauty while still being ultra feminine. She's currently single.

She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. Being the goddess of debate her other powers/abilities include cosmetic manipulation, speech manipulation (is able to change what a person says, make them say nonsensical things, gibberish, speak in other languages or render them unable to speak), and dispute inducement.

Dimósia lives in a penthouse apartment in the Little Athens neighborhood of New Olympus. The interior design is stylish & girly with the main color scheme being hot pink! There are also interior colors of cream, baby pink, gold, and pastel pink. Her closet & bookshelves are immaculately organized and there's suede, leather, & velvet furniture pieces. She has a single pet- a bichon frise named Lady. She mostly gets around in her custom made baby pink colored sports car!

Dimósia has one child, a daughter Peitho (goddess of persuasion & sensuality). She had her daughter on her own by using the services of Gaia's fertility clinic. They were extremely close when her daughter was young, but lately their relationship has been experiencing "growing pains." Other factors contribute to this like Peitho leaning on Dione more & more and the fact that Dimósia has expressed more than once that her daughter can do better than "pining over that flaky messenger god." She also has an older brother Neicus (god of debate & appeal). The two of them are always getting into strongly worded and passionate debates!

Her favorite go-to drink is the cosmopolitan! She also likes watermelon martinis, pink lady cocktails, champagne, cupid's cocktails, white wine, classic martinis, & grapefruit mojitos. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean include a large strawberry lemonade, a large strawberry dragonfruit splash, and a medium strawberry creme frappuccino.

Dimósia always starts of her mornings with a massage session & acupuncture.

Her favorite thing to eat for breakfast are belgian waffles topped with sliced strawberries, whipped cream, strawberry syrup, and powdered sugar. She'll eat them along with scrambled egg whites, buttered croissants, turkey bacon, & hash browns.

She's the latest goddess to have an official glamour doll collectible! She considers this one of her greatest achievements in her godly career.

Dimósia has an extensive collection of pink shades of Olmorfia's lipsticks and nail polish. Her favorite lipstick is "Rose Buttercreme", a creamy blush color and her favorite polish is "Think Pink!", a bold shimmery hot pink.

Her favorite dessert are the strawberry white chocolate chip cookies from Hollyhock's Bakery.

She's the latest deity to be a public & vocal supporter of the MGM movement, founded and started by Pasithea (goddess of hallucinations & relaxation).

Her favorite frozen treat is strawberry sorbet!

The latest guilty pleasures of hers are fried shrimp, spicy tuna rolls, and crispy chicken egg rolls!

In the pantheon Dimósia is friends with Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), Hybris (goddess of insolence, hubris, & reckless pride) as well as her son Momus (god of mockery, satire, & ridicule), Karme (demi-goddess of the harvest), Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith), Sophia (goddess of thought), Kéfi (goddess of mirth); the two often go shoe shopping together, Peitharchia (goddess of obedience & discipline), Mnemosyne (Titaness of memory & language), Rhapso (goddess of sewing), Amphictyonis (Amy) (goddess of diplomacy), Soteria (goddess of safety), Charis (goddess of charm), Palaestra (goddess of wrestling), Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature), and Praxidike (goddess of judicial punishment).
