You know the headcanon that c!dream is scared of c!grian? What if the reason was because c!dream is a dreamon and watchers are their natural predators?

Fic Graveyard Tag
So @scoops404 asked me to list the fics in my "fic Graveyard" aka the fics in my google docs that I started but will probably not continue, and I decided to make it a tag for all my writer friends to do. List all the fics you started writing but probably won't continue and then tag some friends to do the same: For my version of this I've only included fics where I have over a couple thousand words because I have lots of docs with like 200/300 words in and that would be a really long list. Honourable mentions at the end! Working title/doc title: From whence you came Premise: Fae!George and Knight!Dream dsmp fic Pairing: dnf with side karlnap Word count: 7,602 Reason you stopped writing it: I'm not really a fantasy writer I just got the idea in my head and wrote a bunch of it. The karlnap dynamic in this of like himbo sapnap and mage!karl lives in my head rent free though
Working title/doc title: Shiny Things/You Earned It Premise: Sugar Baby AU Pairing: dnf Word count: 2,627 Reason you stopped writing it: I struggled with the initial way in to this as I didn't want to do it entirely AU but they both have a lot of their own money irl and although George likes when ppl pay for things the initial way into the arrangement didn't work for me. It kept coming out a bit more findom. I have extensive notes on it though and I may return to something similar at some point
Working title/doc title: the porn star au that Dream asked for Premise: They're porn stars, Dream is faceless and does amateur solo stuff on OnlyFans but is really successful, George does studio movies and is popular in his own right. Dream wants to transition to movie work for the money and requests to work with George, but no one is actually sure if he's gay or just gay for pay. This was based on Dream's tweet about "in an alternate universe I'm a gay porn star are still get cancelled for queerbaiting" or whatever it was he said. Anyway, every time I read my notes for this I love it a bit more Pairing: dnf Word count: 2,749 Reason you stopped writing it: Honestly, I liked the premise so much I worried about not doing it justice and now I get scared every time I try
Working title/doc title: Tricksy Dreamon times Premise: dsmp fic where DreamXD keep taunting George in the wake of Dream being locked in prison but then Dream escapes and shows up on George's doorstep all traumatised and in need of care. Essentially just some angsty hurt/comfort Pairing: dnf Word count: 4,327 Reason you stopped writing it: Again, I'm not really a fantasy writer or dsmp writer, my friend Charlotte just loved some fics like this and so I wanted to write her one but it's not really in my wheelhouse and so I'll leave her to read the actual good ones
Working title/doc title: the royalty au dream wants but that I didn't think I'd ever write Premise: George is a rebellious prince sleeping with a knight called Dream he doesn't really get along with but then he becomes King unexpectedly due to the death of his father and is faced with the perils of trying to govern a country. He's expected to marry the prince of a nearby kingdom in order to solidify their alliance, but he just can't seem to shake Dream, who has some very strong opinions about how George could be running things instead Pairing: dnf Word count: 1,804 Reason you stopped writing it: Again, not really my usual kind of thing. I'm a contemporary romance write - I don't know why I keep starting these things
Honourable mentions (fics that are a couple hundred words): Werewolf!Dream au - again, not my thing Spanking fic - There are already so many good ones and anything I could have put in this will probably be in a future longer fic of mine Living like you said - a fic with the summary "As YouTube falls apart, Dream and George fall together" about them contemplating quitting while getting together - idk why I gave this up except I didn't have a clear outline for it How to deal with alpha roommates - I so badly want to write more Beta!George like in my fic That's How We Play It (please read, it's my baby) and I started with a premise but again didn't have a clear outline, just a desire for Beta!George fake snf for the bet - what it says on the tin, really. abandoned because I lost enthusiasm for it (Sapnap probably pissed me off that day) Fertitlity stuff - occasionally I start fic to exorcise some personal demons and this was an mpreg one where they faced fertility issues and then split up only to get back together later on but then - well, my own life happened and it made this a bit impossible to continue. This is just the DNF, if you wanna see the Phan list, let me know!! I'm tagging: @scoops404 @czargasm @alittledizzy to do this too fi they want but also if they don't that's cool too :)

janAUary - roleswap au
ship: bedbugs [ rolseswap au, antares/lawrence ] word count: 1380 summary: lawrence makes a deal with a demon.
Tumblr media
He sighs, looks down at the empty white on his screen.
He cracks his neck, leans back in his chair. Closes his eyes. The fading memory of his dreams swirl into the expanses of his mind.
He thinks of that…Thing.
He shudders, and taps his fingers against his keyboard. He types a few vague sentences from the clouded nightmares he can barely remember.
One word sticks out to him, emerges from the fuzzy ghost of an idea; It fronts at the center of his thoughts. Like a bright neon light, it shines through the turmoil of his consciousness. Something at the back of his mind pokes at him, urges him to indulge this form.
His fingers pad the keys again. He presses them hesitantly, gently.
A memory flashes before him. A dream, distant but vivid.
Come on, Lawrence. I can help you.
His heart pounds against his ribs. One of the many nightmares that's plagued him for months, since he's stepped foot in this house.
No wonder the asking price was so low.
He deletes it. A chill runs down his spine.
He types it again.
The cursor blinks at him.
He mutters the name, heavy on his tongue. It feels wrong.
Maybe, if he typed it again, got used to the feeling…
Something urges him, prodding him. The script needed a title, anyways. He scrolls up, and types it a final time.
Antares.
He startles at the shock he feels burn his hand, drawing them back with a yelp. Had his laptop short circuited?
No, it was still running.
And his document was filling itself with that name, repeated down each line without his help -- without anyone's help. Maybe it was broken.
It's not broken, Lawrence.
His eyes widen, he jumps up, stumbles backwards from his chair, knocking it over in the process.
“How --”
It catches his eye then, in the corner, engulfed by shadow. A single finger flicks towards the laptop, which shuts itself.
“I find screens so distracting, don't you?”
“Who -- Who are you?” he trips over his own feet, landing hard against the wall. He struggles to pick up one of the many books that are piled besides him, and holds it out in defense. It laughs.
“Don't look so surprised, babes. You called me.”
He gasps as it steps closer. He knows this creature.
The one from his dreams.
“But you're not –”
“I am very real, Lawrence. Hello,” it waves a hand in his face.
He doesn't greet it, rather he turns with a half-hearted scream and makes for the door.
Which closes. And locks.
“What an awful host you are.”
He finds himself turning back, not of his own volition, and walking towards it again. His heart thunders in his chest, which constricts making it very hard to breathe in the presence of the creature.
“Oh, please. Relax. I’m not here to hurt you. I’m here to help.”
“You're not going to…To…?”
“Kill you? Jesus, Lawrence, if I wanted to do that I would have a long time ago. I’m your pal. Your friend. We're a team, you and me. Or…We can be. Just say the word.”
It's not much of a comfort, but it's something. He calms down, just a little, and nods. The supernatural force holding him releases its grip, and he wrings his wrists. He takes time to let his mind clear of the many burning questions that fester.
“Go ahead, ask.”
He doesn't like that it can read his mind.
“Okay. What are you?”
“I’m a dream demon. A dreamon, if you will.”
“Like a succubus?”
“Like a -- What goes on in those dreams of yours that I’m not in?” it pauses, uncrossing its arms, and when Lawrence sees just how sharp its talons are as it approaches him slowly, he suddenly feels very, very small beneath its shadow.
“No, not like a succubus. A mare, in human folklore, I believe is what they decided on.”
“Night mare?”
“Keen observation, Lawrence!” it flashes fangs, now behind him, fingers curled around his shoulders; A chill runs the length of his spine and he can't tell if it's from the cold touch of its long-dead hands, or the idea that this thing was truly straight out of his night-terrors.
He moves, afraid of allowing himself to turn his back to it – but as he does he realizes it's gone already. He hears a rustling behind him. He turns back, and finds that it’s stood near the far wall.
As he cautiously approaches, he sees that it's intensely scanning his bookshelf, a majority of which bear his own name.
“Say,” it glances towards him, grin wicked, “Betelgeuse? Been there once. The men there are such drags. And I mean that in the best way possible,” it tosses a copy of Thing from Saturn towards him, and he barely catches it, startled.
“Named after a star, huh? Hey, so am I! We're not so different after all!”
“We are very --”
“Listen, pal, I think you and I are just meant to be! I mean, what are the chances?”
He blinks, still confused. He felt…Strange, with this thing, here that knew so much about him already. And he felt so small, so helpless knowing so little about it.
“So…What do you,” he hesitates, unsure of his wording, but finding no other way to ask it rolls bluntly off his tongue, “Do?”
It smiles, turning its head just as agonizingly slow.
“I do many things, Lawrence. Inspiration, mostly. They call me the Muse.”
“They do?”
“No. I don't think I can say what they call me, or else this might not get published.”
“...What?”
“Anyways, half the shit you've ever read, ever heard, ever seen. All me, baby.”
“You're not serious.”
“Ever listen to Kiss? God of Thunder?” it's voice mocks the famous musician’s grumble, “I was raised by the demon?” and just as quick springs back to the jaunty, raspy undertone, “Think Gene was lying? C’mon now, Larry, put some respect on the name.”
“Don't call me that.”
“Hey, but enough about you, let's talk about me. I can help you, buddy. You won't find anyone better.”
“I don't need your help,” he averts his gaze, but bright eyes appear in his peripheral anyways, its voice echoes in the back of his mind.
“I've been watching you for a while, pal. You need my help more than anyone.”
“That's…” Probably true.
Lawrence sputters, “Stop doing that.”
“Doing what?”
“That…In my head thing.”
“Can't help it, sweets. It's my domain, for now.”
“So, if I accept your help…What do you want, in return?”
“Presumptuous, I see.”
“Well, that's how these things go. You do something for me, and I owe you.”
Cautious. Smart. I like you, Larry.
“Well, not much. More of a favor really, if anything.”
“A favor.”
It hums, and for once, it's not an unpleasant sound.
“What kind of favor?”
It groans, “Quite the curious thing, aren't you? I should start charging per question. I’d be rich. Listen, Larry, it's nothing bad. Nothing too out of the way, no inconvenience to you, I swear. Quid pro quo is the name of the game, and I play fair, I promise. Cross my heart, and hope to die, and all that shit. You and I, we would make such a great team. I don't say that often, but I can see, you really do got somethin’ special about you, kid. All you need is a little --” he nearly trips at the force, inching closer to its extended paw, “Push.”
“...I still get full creative control and copyright ownership, right?”
“I don't do this for the fame, babe. You can have whatever you want.”
There's a moment of silence. His breathing steadies. He exhales. Takes its hand. Its nails dig into his skin. No turning back now.
“Deal.”
A wicked grin unfurls across its expression. A forked tongue licks at sharp canines. Its horns swirl bright red.
“Great choice, you won't regret it. You want fortune and fame?”
He nods. Shakes his head.
“Just…recognition.”
“Then you'll get it. And so much more. You just made the best decision of the rest of your life, Larry.”
Something in him tells him he hasn't, and that maybe this was a mistake.
What had he just gotten himself into?

Angeli [Dreamer] Info Page
Tumblr media
Name: Angeli
Age: 16 (38)
Gender: Female She/Her
Species: Human/Wind Wolf
Universe: World Name #3457 Timeline #63
Personality: Adventurous, Kind, Secretive, Stubborn, Closed-Off
History: Angeli was an orphan in the Aphaena Empire on a planet similar to Earth, but with mint teal skies and lilac grass, and houses mostly composed of birch, stone, bricks, and numerous flowers and mushrooms. The trees were naturally twisted with small sparks of light drifting idly all over the place. When she was younger, Angeli was one of the many orphans in an orphanage run by mostly Anarchists, Mercenaries, and Vigilantes. She had a father figure known as Jake, who was a human and earth wolf, and the only one she could truly place her trust in when the other kids bullied her for not being another half species. One night, she ran away in a panic, soon returning only to see the entire building burnt down by the royal guards. It was then she finally grew in her ears and tail.
Nine years later, at the age of sixteen, she met a girl named Lily, who was the royal princess of the kingdom but usually liked hanging out with the citizens, also a human with pointy ears. Angeli was soon invited over to the castle and met her other friends; Mackino, a goat wisp and human hybrid, and Nari, another human with pointy ears. After Angeli left and headed back home to her house at the edge of the kingdom, she came across an orb of light in the woods. After catching it, it revealed itself to be a goddess-like being known as Destina, who was hoping that one of the prophesized people would come across her as she had a warning. Creatures known as Dreamons, beings who could manipulate and kill others in their sleep and behaved like a hivemind, were coming to shred the world in eternal darkness.
Not wanting this to happen, Angeli promised that she was going to fix this. Soon enough, Lily Mackino and Nari joined with her, going on a journey to confront the ruler, who resided in a strange dimension. They fought until something happened...
Angeli woke up in an empty grassy field with a bright blue sky and small flowers all around her. She was now outside of her own world with the ability to travel into others. Ever since then she had become the guardian of the multiverse she resided in, soon gaining alternate versions of herself, five of which joined her to form the Main 6, a group whose main goal is to protect the multiverse and learn more about it.
Hobbies: Drawing, Writing, Animation, Programming, Exploring
Powers: Wind Manipulation, Enhanced hearing sight and smell, Multiverse Travel, Immortality
Feats: Managed to take over an entire planet, jumped into the sun and survived, ventured into a black hole for science, has fought off enemies without magic, can recall specific number codes for universes by memory, has held vast knowledge of how the multiverse works and the spaces outside of it known as the Megaverse and Shatterverse, can remember any event in her life after being sent into the multiverse.
Orientation: Panromantic/Demiromantic/Ace
MBTI: INFP
Enneagram: 2
Zodiac: Gemini
Height: 5'9''
Favorite Food/Drink: Pasta (usually Mac-N-Cheese) and Carmel Frappe
World Visit Count: 2,964,801,357,288 unique universes
Alternates count: 5,876,941 unique versions
Some noteworthy ones include: Acolyte (UTAU), Ahana/Wisp (MHA), Nadia (NJ), Star Shade (MLP), Dealla (DSMP), Blue Lace Agate (SU)
Angeli is probably the least controlled out of the Main six, seeing as how she's playfully insane on numerous occasions.
Angeli shows signs of being Bipolar, however she has not been properly diagnosed. Other issues include anxiety issues and depression.
Angeli is very erratic, often talking to herself whenever she's bored. Apparently that irritates the other members since their memories and thoughts are slightly connected, hence sensory overloads are common.
Angeli has very intense mood swings. Since she had never truly learned how to communicate her emotions effectively, she usually keeps them locked off unless a situation relies on her emotions.
Adding onto this, normally she's relatively calm and collected when in reality a raging storm is just being contained in a glass box, waiting to shatter.
Angeli and Estelle often fight for leadership, but surprisingly despite being the starting point, Estelle usually wins.
Compared to the others, Acolyte is too distant and simply doesn't care that much about the group, Amaia is incredibly inexperienced and can get tricked easily, Estellar is too reckless in her missions and often endangers everyone else, and Star is... complicated.
Angeli has met other multiverse travelers besides herself, but she refuses to bond with them. In complete contrast, Estelle will jump to bond with whoever she meets, seeing as life is a lot more worth it when you have incredible adventures with others and bond with them.
Angeli is one of the more fidgety people of the group, often fiddling with her hands and palm gestures, and sometimes twitching her head and looking around sharply. The only one worse than it is Estellar, who is not exactly the most stable as she appears to be
Angeli doesn't have a last name, but she usually prefers the name to be "Dreamer" because it reminds her of the UTAU universe, along with her constant and erratic daydreaming moments
Adding onto this, she doesn't have a middle name. If she wanted one, she probably would've used the name Rabendaa, meaning lilac in japanese
Out of every world culture, Japan and many different medias in Japanese are her particular favorites
Despite being a huge fan of Vocaloid, Angeli's favorite songs are a blend of Pop and Rock. Her particularly favorite songs are "Undefeatable", "His World", and "Welcome Home"

I was tagged by @mistythedritten to do this challenge (which I'm excited Misty @ me)
How many works do you have on Ao3?
I have 10 works rn and many, many wips that are waiting to be finished (college is kicking my ass at the moment as I'm on my final semester)
2. What is your word count?
14,030 words
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mainly Dream SMP
4. What are your top 5 fics? (stats)
You're Not Alone Anymore, Your Suffering Left You Broken, Let Me Help You Heal, Mine, Beautiful The Way That You Are, Sometimes, You Can Ask For Help are my top 5 at the moment
5. Do you always respond to comments? Why or why not?
Sometimes I do respond to comments if people have questions or are confused, but I do not respond to every single comment
6. Angstiest ending for a fic?
I believe my angstiest ending would have to be for Broken and Barely Breathing as that seemed to be the one most people cried over in the comments
7. First Fic with a Happy Ending?
I believe it is Beautiful The Way That You Are as it ends where Dream starts to show off the tattoos that covered up his scars after Farfadox tells him he is beautiful just how he is
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don't think so but I mostly don't check my comments for hate
9. Do you write smut?
On this account, no I don't but that may change with a Farfadream story idea I had (mostly just flashbacks of a traumatic time c!Dream will be going through)
I have dipped my toes into writing smut and have an account solely for writing smut (no I won't reveal it)
10. Do you write crossovers?
Does Farfadream count as writing a crossover?
11. Ever had a fic stolen?
I don't believe I've had a fic stolen but I don't check to see if my works have been posted elsewhere without my consent
12. Ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Ever co-written?
On a fic, no I have not co-written but I do have some story ideas that I collaborate with other writers on Discord (fun times)
14. Favorite ship?
Can't pick, there are to many c!dream ships that I love and I hope to make a post about the ones I enjoy soon
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but probably never will?
probably the Farfadream Mental Asylum au where Farfadox is a priest (secretly the king of demons) and Dream is a patient who is possessed by a dreamon
16. Writing strengths?
Once I write I don't stop and mostly I feel like writing when listening to a specific playlist which I will only put on to start writing
17. Writing weaknesses?
Procrastination, I always tell myself that I will write and then I don't, I also have trouble when it comes to writing people speak where I use the word 'said' too much
18. Thoughts on dialog in another language in a fic?
I enjoy it! I actually have written dialog in another language mostly when Farfadox speaks Spanish
19. First fandom you have written for?
Rise of the Brave Frozen Tangled Dragons back when I was 13 and had a different writing account before I created this one for writing Minecraft block men
20. Favorite fic you have written?
Your Suffering Left You Broken, Let Me Help You Heal is probably my favorite fic I wrote as I enjoyed writing Tina's perspective of the server where she realized that everyone on the server was the problem and not Dream (I also enjoyed writing the part where she sees Tommy as a spoiled brat)
And that is it! I will tag @sudspots-in-a-bubble, @mpregconnoisseur, @allytienesuenio, @somanywips, and @lookinghalfacorpse

22 and 1 for the violence ask game? :]
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
OK FOR DSMP; DREAMON HUNTERS
Hands down my favoritie fuckign thing because litterally they had such good set up THEY DIDNT EVEN NEED DREAM JUST TUBBO AND FUNDY TOGETHER YES ANDING THEIR WAY TO EXORCISM, AND THE WHOLE THING WITH THE ROOM BBH MADE IT LITTERALLY could blend SO well into the Red Egg Arc. AND THEN NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND IVE BEEN SO FUCKING DEPRESSED, ,
People who know me know I've been counting for fuckign forever until I stopped because it became so fucking rediculous, and now that it's all over I don't have to
But I still remember baby, it's been 1049 days since dreamon hunters :')
1. the character everyone gets wrong
Cfundy, people always dumb him down to just wilburs son and it's so fucking annoying. He's a little bitch, he's likes get rich quick schemes, he's a little silly with no qualms about blowing up the community house, he loves to prank it's the way he just is but when characters laugh along with him instead of at him (cause all the furry jokes, those were ESP annoying in 2020 like jesus), he really appreciates it causd fundamentally he feels alone, he is a follower because he craves that approval while at the same time wanting to stand out as boisterous as he is, but fandom somehow didn't understand why Fundy was so interesting and dumbed him down just like canon did, like how did they fuck it up that bad
Also, one little thing here abt QSMP, qmariana in English fics I feel gets mischaracteristed so much. He suffers the same issue from cfundy where fandom just takes other characters words for it instead of looking at what qmariana actually does, for one he is NOT a cheater he is a loyal motherfuckef to a fault like he really does love qslime and Juanaflippa with all of his heart, HE WAS A GOOD FUCKIGN DAD HE DID TAKE CARE OF JUANAFLIPPA WHENEVER HE COULD HE JUST WAS FUCKING BUSY, he just wanted juana not just to be rough like her papa slime but also be a bit kind and soft, to reel it back and not cause that much trouble that's why he kinda objects to juana getting a lighter cause like now she sjust gonna cause trouble for no reason, he is also not the normal one of slimeriana like no they both aren't normal, this is the man who no hesitation will initiate Minecraft gay sex, you have thank qmariana for giving us Clocks by Coldplay related trauma live on stream, he cusses out people a lot, he threatened to blow up the funeral so he and everyone else can join Juanaflippa, he likes to start beef with some of the eggs for no reason just like qQuackity (see example; beefing with Bobby), like I feel English fandom people don't incorporate ccmariana's sense of humour in qmariana even though it's the funniest part abt him (some extent qslime as well for this reason too, people tend to forget he's not just sad but also fuckign insane sometimes)

I understand the rest of the characters on the non possessed eggpire list but why you consider fundy a main character of that arc? I’m probably misremembering but the only time I remember him interacting with the eggpire (besides at the banquet) is when ant trapped him in the room with it . My memory of people aside from the possessed ones are kind of spotty tbh (this is a genuine question btw I wanna know)
fundy is tied into the egg arc in a few ways actually! the most important one in my opinion, and the reason i count him as a main character, was him and puffy trying to dig into the egg’s origins. i cant remember when/what this stream was, but he had an entire wall filled with signs as a stand-in for a conspiracy board as he tried to make sense of it all. he theorized it was a dreamon of some sorts, iirc! the room the egg was held in was even originally built for fundy, if i remember correctly! it was supposed to be a dreamon hunter base.
as you said, the egg did try to infect fundy! it led him to the eggpire meeting room through ant and tried to trap him there, although it was unsuccessful. there was even a theory going around during doomsday that fundy’s skin was meant to show blood vines growing on him!
Tumblr media
this one ^^ i don’t think it was ever clarified if it was blood or vines though. fundy wasn’t on as often as some of the other egg arc main players, but he played the investigative role after bad and ant succumbed to the egg’s control

I met my boyfriend in an otome game
Veni,vidi,vici ("I came; I saw; I conquered")
Technoblade is a gamer. A good one too if he says so himself. He put hours and hours of practice to sharpen his skills. He was proud of how far he came.
A gamer with subscribers you can count on one hand and still have a few fingers left to a gamer with millions of subscribers.
When he transmigrated in an otome game, he never heard of or played before. A floating blob giving him the tutorial.
"You need to beat the game to get home," the blob says, without moving its mouth but the voice is still heard loud and clear.
"An otome game?" Technoblade scoffed, thinking how many action games he beat in nightmare mode. "On easy mode? This will be easy."
"You want it in nightmare mode?" The blob asks, the painted smile on its face not moving. But he can hear the hesitation in its voice.
"That's it? It's too easy." Technoblade says when he noticed only the save points were removed.
"You just need to finish the game and you'll get back to your world." It repeats. "Don't worry when you die you only get back to your last save point or in your case, since you chose nightmare mode. The beginning."
Then when the game starts he died over and over again.
The mobs were okay. They were easy to kill, even when he have no armor and only have a wooden sword. Sure. At first, it was a bit strange but it was like Technoblade was playing VR.
But the mobs made him let his guard down. It made him underestimate the people. The people who don't have the morals of an otherworlder like him. He treats them like people but they're not. They play to different rules.
It frustrates him because the first time Technoblade died was because of The Button. Wilbur's suicide bombing takes everyone, his allies and his enemies.
"Why would he do that? I was nearly done with the first arc!"
"Do you a mo-
"Again!"
And he died from a rocket to the back he didn't even see the one who killed him.
"Wha- I was nearly done with the first arc!"
"But that wouldn't change anything. You choose the nightmare mode. Remember? You have no save point"
"...."
And he died again.
Dream, the homeless man, approaches proposing a deal. Technoblade, tired of repeating the first arc, agreed
Technoblade lies in bed, staring at the ceiling and wonders if Dream lied.
Dream is a blob that introduce technoblade to the mechanics of the game.
The nightmare mode is getting back Dream's back to his body destroying the dreamon. And making DreamXD reunite to make his soul whole.

Forged by Truth (or Lack Thereof)
Writer's Summary
After his escape from exile failed spectacularly, Tommy only needed to be reminded that Dream saved his life a few times before it starts to sink in. Once his exile can continue again far away from any more distractions, Dream proceeds with his plan to craft the perfect weapon. . . . Or... Protege!Tommy AU where he agrees to be trained by Dream and doesn't get to leave. Meanwhile, Dream ignores his own issues for as long as he can. (The Dreamon tags may be misleading. Not a mechanic to excuse Dream's canon actions)

o!ranboo: what are you? You don’t look like an enderian.
c!Ranboo: I’m half enderman, half dreamon. well, it’s complicated but just saying I’m a dreamon hybrid is easier than saying I’m half literal god.
o!ranboo: not even going to go into that.

So, for @fundyfiles' winter gift exchange I got @theweatherforecast!! I wrote something based on the Dreamon Hunters stream so I'm pretty sure it fits what you asked for! It also ended up being... pretty long, but I hope that's alright?? Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this!
--
“Are you sure you didn’t notice anything weird in his behavior?” Tubbo asked for what felt like the thousandth time. “No changes?”
“None,” Fundy answered flatly, but couldn’t keep his mind from running back to all the interactions he had with Dream in the past week or so. There was a concerningly low amount of those. “Uhh… I guess he was busy recently, we didn’t talk too much…” he admitted despite knowing how well would that end.
“Was he avoiding you?” Tubbo asked without skipping a beat. No, Dream wasn’t avoiding him! He was a busy man, sometimes they just couldn’t meet, that was understandable!
“No, he’s not. This is normal. He has things to do,” he responded. He left out how ‘Dream being busy’ never went on for so long before, that would be just asking for Tubbo to question everything further.
“...Okay. Can you go check on him, at least?” the said boy requested, and Fundy let out a frustrated groan. “Dreamons are a serious thing, Fundy! If one is after him, we need to react now.”
“Can you tell me why would there be a dreamon after him?” the fox hybrid asked. Assuming that those things even existed, why would they go after just Dream, no one else? Why was he the only suspect?!
“Well, he could be a good host to one. He doesn’t talk too much with others, so it’s hard to notice any changes… he wears a mask, so any side effects of possession are easier to hide… he has a lot of resources, so the Dreamon could do whatever it wanted…” he started naming, glancing down at the book in his hands between his points. A book that supposedly explained what ‘Dreamons’ were, and a book Fundy was not allowed to read.
“Okay, okay, fine,” the fox hybrid stopped him. He wasn’t convinced, but he wasn’t about to sit there and listen to all this either. “I can check on him. Make sure he’s not… possessed, or whatever those things do,” he reluctantly agreed. He meant to speak to Dream soon either way.
“Thank you. Good luck,” Tubbo nodded, and seemed very happy to have ‘convinced’ him. Fundy decided against asking why he’d need luck.
Soon after Tubbo left, claiming he had other dreamon-related things to handle, Fundy prepared to look for Dream. There weren’t many places he could check, and he was certain most of those would be empty… just one seemed like a good spot to go to, his fiance’s house. He probably wouldn’t be there, he stopped there mostly to grab resources and continue whatever he was doing, but he stopped there, so leaving a note in it would be enough to arrange a meeting soon. With that in mind, Fundy grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down a short message he was sure could get the point across.
“Hey Dream, please meet me soon? I’ll be in my tower. ~Fundy”
With the note in his pocket, he left his house and started the short journey to Dream’s place. It would only take him a couple of minutes to get there, so he figured he should focus on coming up with what to say if the man was, by some miracle, there, but he still couldn’t help getting lost in his thoughts. “Dream is actually possessed, you just didn’t notice” was not something he expected to hear ever, in his entire life… and yet that statement summarized his entire conversation with Tubbo pretty well. He’d know if something was actually happening with his fiance, though, right? He knew Dream so well, he could tell if something was “possessing” him the very second that started, he would realize before anyone else could even notice anything odd about the man’s behavior… Yeah, he was sure. He ignored the worry at the back of his mind and tried to focus on just getting to his house instead.
He knocked on the door and waited around a surprising amount of time for someone who had no idea what he’d even say after a “hello”. He wasn’t sure why he was so hopeful to see Dream this soon, maybe he wanted the worry that his talk with Tubbo brought him gone for good? Maybe he believed that if they just talked with no preparations, they’d still figure everything out? Or maybe he simply missed him after not seeing him for so long? He wasn’t sure, and wasn’t sure if he’d like his own answer if he spent too long wondering about it… and before he could, he already accepted that Dream wasn’t there. With a low sigh, he pulled out his note and carefully slipped it under the door. He’d get to speak with his fiance soon, and he was certain that everything would clear up the very moment that happened.
Just a day later, moments after the sun got too low to call it noon anymore, there was a knock on Fundy’s door. He turned to look in its direction, confused for a split second before he made out a green and white shape through the foggy glass, and smiled. Dream. He must’ve found the note already, and his visit itself was proof that he wasn’t ‘avoiding’ him, wasn’t it? With a smile growing on his face, Fundy went over to the door and opened it before his fiance would be forced to knock again.
“Hey!” he greeted the moment they were face to face. Despite looking at just a mask, he could tell Dream relaxed the moment he heard his cheerful voice.
“Hey. You wanted me to visit?” the man excused his presence, and lifted up a slightly-crumpled piece of paper. Fundy easily recognized it as the note he wrote.
“Yeah, yeah, I wanted to talk to you! Come inside,” he invited, stepping out of the doorway. Without a complaint, Dream entered his house.
“Thanks,” he said quietly, and for a moment they fell silent. “Is everything alright?” he asked eventually.
“Oh, yeah, I’m alright, I just missed you!” Fundy explained, and Dream seemed to relax even more upon hearing that.
“I missed you too,” he answered, and subconsciously allowed his hand to push his mask to the side. That seemingly small gesture brightened Fundy’s smile, it was something the man only did when they were alone, and no ‘dreamon’ could possibly imitate that. “I had a lot of things to handle, but I promise I’m almost done with them. If you want, we can meet to catch up when I finally finish everything,” he offered.
“Sounds great!” Fundy nodded enthusiastically. If he was getting a date out of this, then he minded the worry talking with Tubbo caused him slightly less. A possible date soon! Out of some crazy conspiracy theory! He could really live with that. “I knew you weren’t avoiding me,” he added quietly, and even though he didn’t mean to do so, it got Dream’s attention.
“Why would I be avoiding you?” he asked, and seemed genuinely surprised by the suggestion. The fox hybrid quickly shook his head as he collected his thoughts, trying to find a good response to that.
“No, I- I didn’t think you were, I’m just… I talked to Tubbo, and he suggested that. I knew you weren’t….!” his voice trailed off, but Dream nodded slowly, so Fundy assumed he accepted that as an answer. “Yeah. I think he just didn’t see you for too long and got worried? He wanted to know if you were okay, so he asked me,” he added, figuring that it was important enough to mention.
“I am,” Dream answered without skipping a beat. “I don’t talk to Tubbo too often, but I’m fine, I’m not avoiding anyone, I was just busy,” he added slowly, and Fundy nodded along.
“Yeah, yeah, I knew he was wrong. I knew!” he smiled, but the assurance still lifted some weight off his shoulders. Of course Dream was alright! Why wouldn’t he be? “Yeah, Tubbo wasn’t even making any sense… and I’m sure he made up half the words he used,” he joked, and Dream hummed in amusement.
“Is that so?” he asked, resting his shoulder against the staircase he was standing by. Fundy nodded, and couldn’t help feeling like this cheerful moment was the best possible outcome of this conversation.
“Yeah! What even is a dreamon, right?” he was about to laugh, but the sound seemed to be stuck in his throat all of the sudden. Something was wrong.
Dream went unnaturally still, and his expression was suddenly blank as he stared directly at Fundy. The tension grew with each second, and even though only a moment passed, it certainly felt like hours. The fox hybrid regretted saying that, regretted opening his mouth at all, he wanted to take it back… he didn’t even know what was wrong with what he said, but Dream’s reaction was enough to tell him he shouldn’t have. His fiance’s usual love-filled gaze was suddenly sharp, each breath he took felt like a hazard… and suddenly, he was stumbling back to avoid having a sword pressed to his throat.
“How much do you know?” Dream asked, his voice so unnaturally calm for the situation that Fundy’s insides twisted. It almost didn’t sound like the man he loved anymore.
His back was against the wall already, his house was nowhere big enough for this… he stared at the sword pointed at him, just inches away, and then at the man holding it. He spent so long believing that Dream would never hurt him, that he’d do anything to avoid doing that, and yet the sword in his hands wasn’t wooden, this wasn’t a playful fight nor a spar. There was a netherite-reinforced enchanted sword so close to him that he’d have no time to react if his fiance decided to…
“D-Dream?” he stuttered out, and a grimace crossed the man’s face. Fundy’s throat still wasn’t impaled, but he wasn’t sure for how long that would last.
“How much do you know, Fundy?” he demanded again, and Fundy could swear the weapon was closer. How much did he know about what?! He’d point out how they needed to establish the topic of the question if he was supposed to give the right answer, but having his life on the line kept him quiet… and with the cold look in his fiance’s eyes, he was certain that was the case.
“I don’t- I don’t know, I’m…!” he tried to answer, but his words were getting caught in his throat just as easily as his breath. Dream spent a moment longer just staring at him, analyzing the presumably-pitiful position the fox hybrid scrambled into while backing away, before slowly lowering the sword.
“Good,” he said, and at this point, Fundy was sure this didn’t sound like his Dream. That was one of the main reasons he didn’t even think about stopping the man when he turned to leave, keeping his sword in his hand. “Don’t get involved in this, Fundy. You don’t want to get hurt, do you?”
He just shook his head, he didn’t trust his voice to not reveal his panic, and silently watched as the man left his home. Even once he was alone, once the door was closed and there was no way for Dream to go back inside quickly, the fox hybrid still stayed pressed against the wall for a moment longer… just for safety. Eventually, he allowed himself to slightly relax and sit down on the floor instead, trying to take a couple of deep breaths and comprehend what just happened. Why would Dream… do that? This was nowhere close to how he usually acted, and their conversation seemed to be going fine up until- oh. Up until Fundy brought up dreamons. That’s when everything changed, that’s when… oh no. Through his shock, he still pushed himself to his feet and almost ran to the door. He wasn’t sure what exactly was happening, but he knew that if anyone could do anything to help, it’d be Tubbo.
By the time Fundy left his house, Dream was nowhere in sight, most likely using some ender pearls to leave faster… for the first time ever, the fox hybrid didn’t really mind that. He had no idea where to even find Tubbo, so he just ran down the prime path as fast as his legs let him, and hoped that somehow he’d find him… and that Dream wasn’t looking too. He did mention how Tubbo was the one to tell him about dreamons, and how he was already suspicious of the man… in hindsight, that could’ve been a mistake. He now had three things to do instead of two, find Tubbo, warn him, and then at least try to help his fiance… there had to be a way to do that, right? As he finally spotted the boy near Tommy’s house, wearing a strange coat but at least still okay, he figured he’d get the answer for that soon.
“Tubbo!” he called out as soon as he decided he was within his earshot. His assumption turned out to be right, because he got Tubbo’s attention with that.
“Fundy?” he asked, visibly confused by the fox hybrid’s sudden appearance. Fundy continued running until he’d no longer have to scream and… oh, he didn’t even think about what he’d say when he finally finds him.
“I need help. You- you were right,” he started, and a look of concern appeared on Tubbo’s face… but the confusion still didn’t leave it either. “...Dream is… there’s something wrong. There’s something wrong, and it’s… I think you were right,” he added, and the confusion immediately vanished.
“What?” Tubbo asked, his expression so gravely serious it was almost concerning on its own. “What happened? What did he do? Did you meet him?” he started questioning, and for once Fundy didn’t mind. He nodded a short confirmation.
“Yeah, yeah, he came over... and he seemed fine, but then… Then I mentioned dreamons and he suddenly… threatened me with his sword, told me to stay out of this, and left! I- I don’t even know where he went!” he explained. Saying what happened out loud for the first time was almost as shocking as experiencing it.
“Alright. That’s… worrying,” Tubbo nodded, and concern seemed to flash in his expression before he put on a brave face. “I can help,” he assured. He set down the back he’s been carrying and searched through it briefly.
“What are you looking for?” Fundy asked, trying to see what Tubbo was even carrying around. Instead of answering, the boy pulled out a coat identical to the one he was wearing and held it out.
“Do you want to hunt Dreamons with me, Fundy?” he asked. The fox hybrid paused for a second, thinking… yeah, he wanted to. If there was anything he could do to help, he would.
“...Yeah. Yeah, let’s… I do,” he nodded slowly, and carefully took the coat out of Tubbo’s hands.
“Good. Put it on, the symbol on the back should protect you,” the boy instructed. Fundy did so without a question. How a simple symbol could provide any help was the last of his worries. “Now come on, we need to get you a gold sword and a hoe, then we can look for Dream. We’ll help him… or at least we’ll stop the Dreamon.”
Fundy’s gut twisted upon hearing the last part, he really didn’t like the implications of that… but he just nodded and followed. This was not the time to question anything, he just had to trust that Tubbo knew what he was doing and hope that they could still save Dream. Yeah, he’d do all he could to help his dear fiance, he’d try anything before… he didn’t want to think about what could be their last resort. He’d save Dream, that was all he allowed himself to think as Tubbo led him somewhere where they could get the needed gear.
Before he even knew it, Fundy was holding a gold sword in one of his hands and waiting for Tubbo to pass him a diamond hoe already. The two items were apparently important, Tubbo claimed that gold was the most effective in fighting Dreamons and that the creatures couldn’t cross hoed land… On one hand, that sounded unbelievable, but on the other one, the fox hybrid’s fiance was currently possessed, nothing was too crazy to believe it anymore. That was why he kept his slight doubts to himself and silently followed Tubbo around as they tried to find Dream. With no clue where to start, they ended up wandering the prime path back and forth, checking all the buildings nearby and looking in any hiding spot they could think of, but the man was nowhere in sight. Just as Fundy started to suspect they were doing something wrong, and allowed himself to fall slightly behind as they were climbing up to where he first ran into Tubbo, the boy paused. That was… strange, this was the 3rd or 4th time they ended up there, what could’ve possibly changed in the last 15 minutes?
“Tubbo!” Dream’s voice sounded out from the top. Fundy sped up, but even before getting to the point where Tubbo stopped, he had no doubt it was his fiance up there. “I’ve been looking for you-”
As soon as Fundy got to Tubbo’s side and finally saw Dream, the man’s voice trailed off. With everyone frozen still and silent, he found himself just staring at the man’s mask, and he could swear he felt Dream’s gaze on himself… after a moment of that strange staredown, he couldn’t help but take a step to move behind Tubbo. He wasn’t scared of getting hurt, he would never do this if that was the case, he just… really, really wanted to get out of the man’s sight. Being taller, his gesture didn’t help much, and he was sure Dream’s head tilted slightly to follow him… before he knew it, his grip on the gold sword tightened. Well, that was pointless, he realized. No matter what, he knew he couldn’t bring himself to hurt Dream, even if the man was to attack him first, and even if he was possessed.
“Oh. Never mind, then.” Dream said finally, and turned away to leave. His voice sounded so casual and unbothered that for a second, Fundy started doubting if there was any real proof that he was possessed- Oh, right. Of course there was. This wasn’t even close to how the man usually behaved, not to mention what happened when they ‘talked’ earlier- Growing even more concerned, he quickly exchanged looks with Tubbo.
“...Keep your hoe ready,” he instructed quietly, and motioned for Fundy to follow. The fox hybrid nodded, fixed his grip on the tool, and silently climbed to the top of the path, staying right behind Tubbo. They then stepped over to the nearby grass, and the boy took a deep breath before calling out. “Dreamon, I will need you to come with us!”
Just as the last time that word was said around Dream, it changed his attitude completely. He stopped in his tracks, slowly turned to face the two, and the next thing they knew, he was already rushing in their direction. Tubbo was the first one to react, mostly because he knew how to react, and used his hoe to mark a line between the man and the two of them. When he started to extend it so it would surround them, Fundy caught on and helped to close the circle in the ground just before Dream got to them. Just as Tubbo claimed before, the Dreamon in front of them seemed unable to get to their side. They both spent a moment in silence, as if to make sure he couldn’t find a way to reach them, but eventually, Fundy turned to look at Tubbo.
“Okay, what now?” he asked. The boy lowered his tools and pulled out the book he had with himself before, quickly skimming through the pages before pausing.
“...Now we can help him. He has to follow us, but he’ll try to attack if we’re not careful…” he paused, flipping to another page somewhere further in the book. “...We have to take him somewhere where we can perform a… ritual. I have everything prepared by Bad and Skeppy’s mansion, we just have to get there.”
“Okay,” Fundy nodded slowly. He then took a moment to look at his fiance, standing still just by the line they marked in the grass and waiting for them to step out of it, absolutely silent. “...How do we do that?” he asked.
“We just need to make more lines, that should keep us safe,” Tubbo responded. Well, with Dream still that should be easy- as if on the mark, the man moved from his spot and started to walk around the circle. That made things… more difficult. With the man out of the way, Fundy also noticed that not all the way to the mansion had grass by the path.
“And how do we get past there?” he asked, pointing at the place where the path turned into more of a bridge than anything else. Tubbo looked over there and paused for a moment before flipping through the pages of his book again.
“...Okay, so…” he closed the book, tucked it away in the biggest pocket of his coat, and moved it to the side to reveal a potion strapped to his side. “I’m pretty sure this can also work. I’ll drink it, and you’ll have to stick close,” he explained.
“Got it,” Fundy nodded. After hesitating for just a second, Tubbo drank the potion and carefully stepped out of the circle. Dream was immediately at his side, but didn’t even try to attack. After figuring it was safe, Tubbo motioned for Fundy to join him.
“Looks like it works. Come on, we only have a bit of time before it runs out,” he reminded, and the fox hybrid carefully crossed the line too, clutching his sword close. He wouldn’t be able to hurt Dream, but at least he could use it to block an attack if needed… luckily, it didn’t come to that.
They moved down the prime path swiftly, with Dream just a step or so behind them at all times. Fundy did his best to stay as close to Tubbo as possible, and the boy was walking just slow enough for him to keep up without issues, but he was still pretty sure he noticed Dream reaching after him and almost grabbing his coat a time or two. Still, they reached the mansion without getting attacked by his possessed fiance and stopped right in front of a strange arch Fundy noticed the last time they passed by this place, but never bothered to point out. He figured it was just some dumb prank or ‘modern art’, but now that they were standing under it, and Dream seemed repulsed by the sheer look of it, he started to suspect it was something more. As if to confirm that, Tubbo dug through his pocket, pulled something out, placed it in Fundy’s hands, and turned to look at Dream.
“Dreamon, I need you to go stand under the ritual arc,” he announced, taking a step back and dragging Fundy with him. With something between a grunt and a growl, the man followed the instruction. “Okay, now Fundy? Go back to the other side of the arch. He shouldn’t hurt you.”
“...Sure,” the fox hybrid nodded, and did his best to not focus on the last part. He carefully stepped further from Tubbo, and when Dream didn’t move from his spot, he quickly crossed the arch. He then finally looked down at his hands and found an… egg? At this point, he didn’t feel like questioning anything further.
“Alright. Now… Dreamon, repeat after me,” Tubbo said. Dream’s head was still turned to face him, as if Fundy wasn’t even there. Tubbo took a deep breath and pulled out his book again. This time, he knew exactly which page he needed. “...I am one.”
“I am one,” Dream repeated. Could… could Fundy even still call him that?
His voice was nothing like he recalled it being. It was rough, hoarse, and barely even sounded human. No, it was like a poor imitation of his beloved fiance, a poor imitation of any human’s voice. Not only that, it seemed to be getting worse with each phrase repeated after Tubbo. That was… good, he supposed? He hoped it was. He hoped it meant that the ritual was working, not that something was going horribly wrong. At some point, the man started twitching, it was first just his fingers, then his head, and now suddenly his entire body was trembling… again, it was hopefully a good thing. Fundy anxiously watched all that happen, at this point just waiting for his fiance to lose his balance and fall, but that never happened. His voice was raspy enough to make all his words intelligible, but he didn’t seem to be bluffing.
“...On my mark, we will perform the action and stand back. You will then be free!” Tubbo exclaimed, and the man didn’t repeat it this time. Fundy snapped out of his state and felt a brief wave of panic, what action?! Did he miss something?! “Fundy, throw the egg!”
Any other day, this would be the stupidest idea ever, an order he’d never follow, an instruction he’d just laugh at… but now, he didn’t even hesitate before chucking the item in Dream’s direction. It seemed to smash even before it made contact with him, leaving him clean and with two eggshells by his feet. An invisible wave seemed to pass in the air, almost pushing Fundy’s hat off of his head and ruffling his coat, and then his fiance dropped to his knees and hung his head low… was it his fiance? Or was it the… the Dreamon? That question stopped Fundy from rushing to his side as soon as that happened.
“Stay there, I’ll get over to you,” Tubbo called out, and carefully walked around the arch. He jumped over a small gap between Bad and Skeppy’s land and the prime path, ending up just by Fundy’s side. “We can’t go anywhere near him until the ritual is done.”
“How do we know it is?” Fundy asked, watching Dream just in case the man would suddenly move. Tubbo stayed silent for a moment before pulling out his book and flipping through it.
“I don’t know, I guess it’s just… uh…” he muttered, growing slightly more desperate with each page he went through. Before he could find anything, Dream started to cough loudly.
“Dream?!” Fundy asked, and took a step forward until Tubbo stopped him. “Tubbo, he’s- Something’s wrong, he’s-” he tried to argue. The boy seemed alarmed as well, but much less eager to intervene.
“...I’ll check on him,” he decided finally, passing Fundy the book and taking a couple of steps towards the man.
Fundy glanced down at the item and only one thing caught his eye - a red line of text saying ‘Under no circumstance approach the possessed until the ritual is over’. He… liked the idea of walking up to Dream slightly less now, maybe they should wait for a second or so longer? Before he could suggest that, Tubbo was already almost at Dream’s side, reaching out to him and nervously calling his name. Fundy looked up just in time to see his fiance’s head snap up, and a bright flash of green appear, accompanied by the sound of an explosion. The next thing he knew, Tubbo was thrown back onto the prime path, and Dream in the direction of the mansion.
“Tubbo?!” Fundy called out, rushing over to the other Dreamon Hunter’s side and crouching down, gently shaking him when he got no response. When that didn’t change for a moment, he looked up to see if at least Dream was okay. The first thing he noticed was the shards of the man’s mask under the arch. “...Dream? Tubbo?!” he asked again. This time, the boy let out a quiet grunt of pain as a response. “Are you okay?!”
“...Yeah, yeah….” he muttered, and slowly sat up. Fundy assisted him in that, and couldn’t find any noticeable wounds on him. “...And that’s why you don’t approach someone during the ritual,” he added, looking down at the things left under the arch, and then at Dream.
“Got it,” Fundy nodded, and handed him back the book. He had a feeling Tubbo knew how to use it much better than him. He then noticed Dream slowly move his hand in an attempt to push himself off the ground. “...Tubbo, he’s up,” he informed, and the boy immediately scrambled to his feet.
“We need to get out of here,” he announced, but seemed a bit too dizzy to keep his balance. Fundy offered him a helping hand to keep him from falling, but Tubbo just grabbed him and started to lead him away from the arch. “We broke the ritual, this is… bad.”
“What does that mean?!” Fundy asked, stumbling slightly as he followed Tubbo. With his balance apparently back, the boy flipped a page or two in his book.
“...That the lines or the potions won’t help anymore, he’s just… we have to…” his voice trailed off. Fundy hated what he figured he could hear next. He glanced back and found Dream stumbling after them, limping, with an angered expression on his face. He was barely close enough to notice how the expression was slightly exaggerated and how there was something clearly wrong with it… he supposed that was what Tubbo meant when he mentioned the mask hiding things. Luckily, he didn’t seem to be getting any closer to them, and once he got to a steeper part of the path, he seemed to resign and change the direction he was going in. For a split second, Fundy was relieved, but then he remembered it was the direction of the man’s secret base… uh oh. He slowed down, and Tubbo did the same. “...Fundy, we’ll have to…”
“No,” the fox hybrid shook his head, not letting the other Dreamon Hunter finish. No, after all this, they were not doing… whatever they ‘had’ to do. They weren’t hurting Dream, they weren’t killing Dream, they weren’t… doing anything like that! “T-there has to be something else we can do, we have a moment, let’s look through that book and…!”
“We’re-” Tubbo paused. He glanced over at Dream, watching him stumble to his base. “...Alright, let’s look,” he agreed, starting to flip through the pages.
They spent the next minute or so standing there, Tubbo reading through the book and Fundy making sure Dream wasn’t leaving his house and approaching them. With each sound of flipping a page, the fox hybrid couldn’t help but feel a wave of worry and… guilt? He was the one who started approaching, it was his fault the ritual was broken, if he just wasn’t so…! Tubbo quietly gasped and seemed to focus on a specific page for a moment longer, and even that got the fox hybrid’s attention. Finally, the boy looked up from it, and a slight smile crossed his face
“...I think there’s a way out of this,” he announced, holding the page out for Fundy to see. The letters were so small it was almost impossible to read. Before he could even try, Tubbo took it back to say what he found himself. “...A fond memory of the host could allow them to break free of the Dreamon’s influence even if other attempts failed. Romantic memories are proven to work best and even in the worst cases,” he quoted before looking up at Fundy again. “...Any ideas?”
“...Wait…” the fox hybrid muttered, searching his mind to find the best memory he could bring up. When did Dream feel the happiest around him, what could…. Oh. He quickly found an answer to that. “...I think- If I recreated my proposal to him… that could work, right?. That has to work!”
“...Yeah, it should!” Tubbo nodded after giving it a second of thought. Fundy felt nothing but relieved, there was still a way to help Dream! “What do you need?”
“...A diamond. I’ll make a car, you get the diamond, that’s all I’ll need,” he decided. The upside to proposing in an almost-empty parking lot was that there wasn’t too much to recreate.
“I’ll get that for you, where do we meet?” Tubbo asked. Fundy took a second to think about it… he proposed during the night, but it was still bright outside… Maybe some shade would work? And where else would he find shade outside if not under Purpled’s UFO?
“...Under Purpled’s base. Alright?”
“Perfect.”
With no way to check where Dream was, Fundy did his best to move fast. He “borrowed” some resources he could use to create something that would resemble a car well enough and immediately rushed to Purpled’s UFO, getting there ages before Tubbo. Without wasting a second, he put together what he had, and while it looked like it was on the verge of falling apart, it had to be enough. He tried to add some details to the “car”, anything that could ensure that this would work... This had to work. They had to save Dream. Just as he secured the last glass pane he managed to integrate into his build, he heard footsteps behind himself. That was good, they made it in time-
“I thought you didn’t want to get hurt, Fundy,” the voice supposed to sound like his fiance’s taunted him. That was… Bad. He swiftly turned around and found Dream standing there, a netherite sword in his hand and a displeased look on his face. He knew there were healing items in his base, he just didn’t expect the man to be back so quickly-
“...I’m just trying to help you,” he answered. He needed time. He needed to get more time, so that Tubbo could get there.
“By killing him?” Dream… or should Fundy just call him a Dreamon at this point? Whoever he was, his question brought a slight shock to the fox hybrid. “...You know that whatever this is, it’ll kill him, right?”
“...No, it won’t. It’ll just… get rid of you, it won’t hurt him!” the fox hybrid argued. The man in front of him laughed, and it was the most sickening sound to ever reach his ears.
“No, Fundy. He’ll die with me. When the ritual was broken, it ruined your chances. We’re one, if you try to get rid of me, he’ll suffer from it too,” he explained, and Fundy’s gut turned. That… wasn’t true, right? “Thank you for that.”
“That’s not true!” the fox hybrid answered. “No, that’s not… he’ll be fine, I can still… he’ll be fine!” he exclaimed. Dream would be fine, he always was. At the end of each day, they got to fall asleep in each other’s embrace, and this one would be no different.
“You don’t know much about Dreamons, do you?” the man asked. “If you want him to live, don’t try anything,” he added. And he was right, in a way, all Fundy knew about Dreamons was from Tubbo, and all Tubbo knew was from the book… the book. The book said that this would work even if something else failed! So this had to be a lie! He just had to keep the conversation going, keep the Dreamon there until… Just in time, he noticed Tubbo quietly sneaking over, staying on the prime path and holding up a single diamond. Great, now he just had to get behind the Dreamon to take it…
“The book said it won’t hurt him, I know you’re lying. I know exactly what to do, I’ll just-” he didn’t even finish when the man rushed towards him, preparing to swing his sword. So he was right, the Dreamon was bluffing! He tried to block the initial attack with his gold sword, and before the man could stop him, he slipped by his side and broke into a sprint in Tubbo’s direction.
“Get back here-” the man called after him, turning around in order to chase after him. Before he could, Fundy already held the ring in his hands. After a deep breath, he turned to face the Dreamon, this had to work, they had to save his fiance-
“Do you remember this, Dream?” he asked, and the man stopped just one step into the chase. He could swear he saw another flash of green appear, but no one was hurt. “...Do you remember the ring? The car? The- the date we had? Do you remember the movie… Do you remember this?”
By the time he asked that again, the man was barely standing on his feet. There was something alien in his face, an unfamiliar expression of confusion, anger, pain, and sorrow… Fundy paused for a moment, taking a single step closer and holding up the diamond. It was… close enough to a ring. He gave Dream a moment to try to remember, to do whatever he had to… there was no way this would actually hurt his fiance, right? Even without hearing anything else, the man still slowly lowered himself to his knees, maintaining eye contact. Fundy tried to come up with anything else about the memory worth mentioning.
“...There was also food, do you remember the food?” he asked, and was certain he saw another green flash this time.
“...Do you want some bread?” Tubbo asked quietly. Not sure if something bad would happen if he looked away or said something unrelated, Fundy just nodded and held out a hand in Tubbo’s general direction until he felt a weight on it.
“Here we go. Do you remember all that, Dream? You have to remember,” he added quietly, taking a couple more steps in the man’s direction and holding out both the bread and the diamond. With how close he got, he finally saw the mix of anxiety and worry in the man’s eyes. Slowly, Dream nodded, and tried to reach out towards the items. “That’s perfect. I knew you’d remember. Remember our date, the night I proposed to you-”
Something about the word “proposed” seemed to do, well, something. Dream’s hand fell back down, and he hung his head again. This time though, instead of coughing, something… else happened. Within a blink of an eye, the man’s body was lifted off the ground and slowly raised, his expression suddenly numb. Fundy stumbled back in panic, holding both of the items close to himself and looking to Tubbo for… anything, really. Reassurance, answers, anything-
“Tubbo, you’re the expert, what- What does this mean?!” he asked. The boy slowly shook his head, looking up at Dream with a confused expression.
“...That wasn’t in the book,” he admitted, and Fundy’s eyes widened.
“What?!” he asked, looking back at Dream. There was no way he… there was no way this was hurting him too, right? The Dreamon was lying, he established that, there was no way… he wasn’t killing Dream, was he? Even the thought of that made his stomach turn, this couldn’t-
There was a sudden flash of green again, much stronger than the previous one. It was accompanied by the strange invisible wave again, too, just a much stronger one than under the arch. It almost knocked Fundy off his feet, it was a miracle he was still standing with how close he was- He briefly rubbed his eyes and looked back up, Dream’s body was still hanging up in the air, unmoving and almost lifeless… He stared for a moment, there was no way that he- no, no, he was- this was supposed to help Dream, to save him, not… not kill him! But then why… Before he could wonder for too long, the man’s body suddenly dropped.
“Dream!” he called out, rushing over barely in time to soften the fall but not nearly fast enough to safely catch him. He ended up tumbling to the ground, but at least he helped… right? “Dream? Dream, are you- can you hear me?” he asked, feeling his panic grow with each second of silence.
“...Is he breathing?” Tubbo asked, approaching him ever-so-slightly. That was… a reasonable question. Fundy looked at the man’s chest, watching for any movement… After just a couple of seconds, he noticed its slow motion. It raised and fell, raised and fell, raised and…
“He is!” he breathed a sigh of relief. He was, he was breathing, this was okay, he was okay, he was alive- “Dream? Dream, are you okay? Is he okay?” he asked, turning to Tubbo. When the boy shrugged, Fundy looked back at his unconscious finance.
After a second of thought, he removed his Dreamon Hunter coat and gently wrapped it around the man’s body. If the symbol on it really had protective properties, there was no one else who needed those more right now. Tubbo didn’t tell him not to do that, and he didn’t object now, so he figured that was alright. The boy finally made his way over to his side and crouched down next to him. He watched Dream for a moment before turning his gaze to Fundy.
“I think it worked. He seems… fine,” he informed, and Fundy nodded slowly. That was a big relief for sure. Another beat of silence passed with Tubbo starting to look through the book again and Fundy holding his fiance closer, finding comfort in the sound of his heartbeat. Eventually, a quiet groan escaped the man’s lips.
“Dream?!” Fundy asked, lowering the man slightly just in time to see his eyes opening. “Dream, are you- are you okay?” he asked, and the first answer he got was a low grunt.
“...Fundy?” the man asked quietly. He sounded admittedly tired, but like himself. Before the relief from that could fully settle in, Fundy noticed the gold sword suddenly in Tubbo’s hand.
“Dream, I need you to answer some questions,” he informed. Right, they shouldn’t lower their guards yet, that was smart. The man nodded slowly as a response. “Okay… how do you feel?”
“...I don’t… I feel… new,” he answered. Was that good? Or bad? Tubbo glanced down into his book and nodded.
“Okay, okay, that’s… good. Do you know what happened?” he asked. A slight frown appeared on the man’s face.
“...I think I was… there was this… Thing, it was… controlling me? I was…” his voice trailed off, but Tubbo nodded again.
“That’s enough. Now it’s just… I need you to tell us your name,” he requested.
“...Dream? Why’s that…?” the man tried to ask, taken off guard by the sudden shift in the ‘difficulty’ of the questions.
“...I think he’s cured,” Tubbo announced, closing the book and putting it away.
Immediately, Fundy pulled Dream closer and trapped him in a warm embrace. The man relaxed into the touch, his hands somehow finding their way to the fox hybrid’s jacket and gently clutching at it, a possible attempt to return the gesture. With all the relief finally crushing down on him, Fundy found himself experiencing oh-so-many different emotions. What should he even say?! There were so many things he could mention, so many words that needed to be spoken between them, so many questions he wanted to ask…
“...Dream, how long… How long was that thing with you?” he asked finally. That was a good place to start, he knew it must’ve been recent-
“A… week? Or two…?” the man admitted hesitantly, and the fox hybrid’s stomach dropped. How long? He pulled Dream even closer and tried to find any words that could go through his throat after hearing that.
“...I’m… so sorry, I- I should’ve noticed, I wasn’t…” he started. Dream slowly shook his head against his shoulder, so he paused. It was true, though, he should’ve noticed. Sure, maybe determining that his fiance was possessed wasn’t something he was expected to do, but he should’ve at least realized something was off! If he only noticed, would things be different? Would they be okay? “...I’m sorry,” he said again. Dream took a deep breath, and before Fundy could advise him not to strain his voice, he responded.
“...And I’m sorry too,” he muttered a quiet apology. Sorry for what?! For being possessed? There was nothing Dream should’ve been sorry about- “...For what I did to you. I wasn’t…” he continued faintly. That didn’t make any sense, it was out of his control, wasn’t it?
“...It’s alright, it wasn’t your fault. And you didn’t hurt me, so… it’s okay,” he assured just in case the man’s memory was patchy. He hadn’t hurt him physically, at least, and… everything else could be handled later. Dream gave another nod as a response, and they fell into silence until Tubbo cleared his throat.
“Hey, uh…” he said. He was reading the book again. “I don’t want to alarm you, but there’s still a Dreamon on the loose. This didn’t kill it, it just got it out of Dream,” he informed, pointing to a page that probably said that. A new weight appeared in Fundy’s chest.
“...What do we do, then?” he asked. He looked around, as if the Dreamon would patiently watch them from behind the car or something… his gaze came across his golden sword, somehow still in one piece, and he felt a slight wave of relief. Now that his fiance was safe and they’d be facing just the Dreamon, he wouldn’t hesitate to fight it. Tubbo’s response snapped him out of his thoughts.
“I need to get more books on those things, this one isn’t enough… we also need to set up a base for this… maybe a camp? Can you do that?” he answered. Fundy nodded, he could set up a camp with no issues, except…
“...Sure, but... Can I just get Dream somewhere safer first?” he responded. The man was still barely awake, so the fox hybrid didn’t think taking him along to set up a base was a good idea… and there was no way he was leaving him, of course. Tubbo seemed to understand that.
“Yeah, yeah, of course,” he agreed without any hesitation. “When you’re done, set up the camp in line with the arch we used for the ritual,” he instructed. Fundy was certain there was a reason for that, so he decided against questioning the order.
“I will,” he nodded. Tubbo smiled faintly before getting off the ground, straightening his coat, and leaving. Fundy could swear he heard the boy wishing them well as he walked away, but it wasn’t clear enough to warrant a response. Instead, the fox hybrid turned his attention back to Dream. “...Do you think you can walk?” he asked. The man already opened his mouth to answer, but paused.
“...I hope so,” he muttered eventually, and Fundy nodded.
Well, there was one way to check. He got up to his feet and held his hands out to the man, helping him off the ground and making sure the coat he was given didn’t slip down his shoulders. His legs seemed to be more than shaky, but with the option to lean on Fundy instead of just falling, he managed to keep his balance. With no hesitation, the fox hybrid put his hands on Dream’s sides to assist him further. Now came the big question… where would they be safe?
“...Hey, so…” Fundy started, trying to come up with a reasonable plan. “...Since that Dreamon knows where your base is, do you want to stay in my house for now? I mean, it knows about it too, but it won’t expect to find you there,” he suggested. That was reasonable, right?
“Sounds great,” Dream nodded, and a smile appeared on his face.
“Alright, perfect! Now, let’s try to walk, okay?” he suggested, and his fiance took a deep breath before taking the first step. With the fox hybrid’s help, he managed to keep his balance.
The way over to Fundy’s home was long, especially with how slow they walked, but that was fine. They weren’t in that much of a rush, and the plain they had to cross was so open they couldn’t possibly miss a dreamon going after them. If it tried anything, Fundy had his gold sword, he could fight and he wasn’t letting anything happen. Eventually, they reached the tower, and the fox hybrid helped Dream over to the bed before going to one of his chests and getting some gold from it. As much as he wanted to stay by the man’s side forever, he still had to set up that camp, and the best he could do was get Dream something to protect himself with. In just a moment, he already approached the man with a brand new gold sword.
“...I need to go, I have to start setting up the camp Tubbo asked for… but this should help you. Gold hurts Dreamons more,” he explained, and his fiance carefully took the weapon off his hands.
“...Thank you,” he nodded, and rested the sword against the bed so he could easily grab it in need. After that, he slowly looked back up at Fundy… his eyes were tired. “...Do you have to go now?” he asked after a moment of silence. The fox hybrid hesitated for a second before smiling and taking a seat by his fiance’s side.
“...I guess I can stay for a moment,” he decided, wrapping his arms around the man again. This time, Dream managed to return the gesture. “And when I’m done with the camp, I won’t leave your side, I promise,” he added.
“Thank you,” Dream said again, leaning into his touch.
Despite everything, Fundy figured they’d be fine. Sure, what Dream had to go through must’ve been horrific, and he wasn’t all that happy with how his day went either, but… that was over now, right? Yeah, the Dreamon wasn’t possessing anyone anymore, they were safe, and Fundy was… a Dreamon Hunter? Was that the name Tubbo suggested when they were searching for the then-possessed man? It might’ve been a joke, but he liked the sound of that either way. He was a Dreamon Hunter, and he was able to protect his fiance now… he would never let something like this happen again. Never.

am i happy dreamons are being brought back? yes. but im also kinda disappointed with the lack of continuity
i feel like stuff that tubbo and fundy established in their dreamon streams that were integral parts of the plot are being ignored/changed and im kinda upset with it
like, i feel like i should be happy that my favorite plot is being acknowledged/referenced and possibly brought back but like,, its not the same. it feels like theyre just taking the concept of dreamons and making their own thing with it
if dreamons are being brought back, i def wouldve preferred if at least the original streams were used to guide where they go now? like, there are things going on that just arent consistent with what was already canon which is most likely a result of dream going off of memory about the dreamon plot and not actually rewatching the vods/talking to tubbo and fundy, but idk
even some of the theories ive seen dont really seem to be supported by the canon in the original streams/the things tubbo originally said about dreamons. and tubbos word should technically be more credible since hes supposed to be the dreamon expert, yk?
idk, i just miss and prefer the dreamon plot that tubbo and fundy made

OH OH
So if the Egg is really a Dreamon, and it’s a Dreamon that affects those around it, what if the reason why Tommy is Immune to the Egg is because Tommy was already affected by another Dreamon? Aka Dream. What if two Dreamons can’t affect the same person, so one takes priority over the other. Therefore, Dream the Dreamon’s claim on Tommy is overwriting the claim that the Egg is trying to set. It would make sense if that’s how it worked.

My brain rn is brrrrrr
/dsmp, rp
Dreamon exorcise not just separated Dreamon & Dre, it separated XD too
c!Dream (the body, the soul, aka the prison Teletubby)- ego (after got separated & become regular human with 3 lives)
DreamXD- super ego (his loyalty, his immortality & creative mode)
Dreamon- id (manipulating, self serving, guide Dream when XD separated)
I’m not make Dreamon control, but as a guide c!Dream’s decision bc I want c!Dre still be in control of his choice & action. A big influence what he become later on but fully in control.
part of Dreamon influence c!Fre more easy due to he got paint as villain thanks to Wilbur since the first war, plus his action got more worst from lack of super ego (XD)
This is also connected to c!George
XD’s “I been by your side since the beginning” but this is the first time we see XD & George interact on screen, mean XD have to know c!George for long, aka through OG c!Dre.
Which mean XD, c!Dream, & Dreamon is all part of c!Dream. Even if XD is with George but George also want to bust prison Dream out too because in the end of the day, it all still Dream.
plus if Dreamon been control c!Dre from the beginning, then why the King & Knight arc?
c!Dream still have big loyalty to keep George safe, if Dreamon really is in control & truly want to cut DTeam out, he would be more harsh & not “no no dethroned for your safety” bs & barely keep up the debate with Quackity (Dreamon would be more convincing with his words). There is still flaws in his “evil” character he try to show as.
It just see the connection how both c!Dream & DreamXD have a same characteristic of being so protective of George too. Hell this might connect Dreamon become the egg since how parallel it is to how c!Dream manipulate people.
This in no by mean a Dream apologist because I still hate him to GUTS of how much they mfer did to Tommy & Tubbo. I find his character fascinating & Dreamon lore theory is top tier, the character still a lot of bs shit that I still can’t really defend or forgive, but still believe the torture in jail is not do any good for the guy too because he will not learn shit like how Tommy “revert back” to his old self & “don’t change”.
I don’t know, I’m sleep deprived from homework if this even make sense.
