Goth: Indigenous religion of the Tennessee/Florida/Georgias. North American family of Dog religion, duotheistic, paying respect to Abba and Mory (LATINIZED) who created the first two mortal Dogs by cloning themselves. expressive of the bond between the gods and Dogs and the teachings of the Thallavom.

English: language born from attempts at communication between the Drew and Goths. Borrowing from countries the Goth traveled (French, Spanish, Latin) as well as Gaelic and Anglo-Saxon.

Druyah: the native nomadic Clans who wandered the Isle pre-colonization. From Drewits, Proto-Gaelic word for druid.

Drew: OF or REFERRING TO the Clans of Druyah.

Pollicle: Diasporic religion of the Twelve Families under Maria. Originally North American family, duotheistic, paying respect to Meyni and Farli (Germanized) who, like the Gothic Abba and Mory, cloned themselves to create the Dogs. expressive of the teachings of the Dyad to Maria.

Liir/Liirish: referring to the People of Lyra, religion descended from the Proto-Drew religion. Monotheistic, paying respect to the God known as Dhehoshia, Seyul, or Kiora, who led the Cats out of the dark world they were born in (not considered a Creator God). Evolved from the Drew religion (proto-druidism)

Mariart: (Pollicle German) "In the von Maria way" also Marianera (Pollicle Russian). The modifications made by Pollicles (von Maria/Marii) to Languages of their nationality.

Prrha: Native language of the Isle Cats, descended from the Clans of Druyah.

Precious few people in the art industry are likely to identify the fifth highest selling artist under 40, even though his works amassed nearly $4.7 million in salesrooms across three continents in just over nine months. 

That artist? Mr. Doodle.

His name has never graced the wall of a New York gallery, blue-chip art-fair booth, or major Western museum program.  Any public appearance by Mr. Doodle finds Cox draped in clothing covered in his own signature imagery—the intricately interwoven pandemonium of cartoon creatures the artist sometimes refers to as “graffiti spaghetti.” (Imagine if Keith Haring adapted the Where’s Waldo? books, and you’ll start to get the picture.)

All this plays into an ongoing world-building exercise. Cox has developed a whimsical origin story that would fit snugly into an illustrated children’s book or animated Netflix series: Born with a compulsion to draw, Mr. Doodle ran afoul of the fun-hating Anti-Doodle Squad by literally covering the entire planet in his imagery. The two sides made a truce contingent on the artist blasting off to Doodle Land, part of a galaxy made of blank paper, where he could draw to his heart’s content. 

All was well until Mr. Doodle’s evil twin brother, Dr. Scribble, exiled the artist back to Earth, where all of his creations had been wiped out by the Anti-Doodle Squad’s Eraser Laser. This left Mr. Doodle no choice but to relentlessly make new work to trade for cash and supplies that would eventually allow him to build a new spaceship and reassert his rightful claim on the slice of the Paper Galaxy he’d transformed into Doodle Land.

Although he says there are individuals with art-world cachet who genuinely like his work (or at least recognize its potential), Cox knows “there are plenty of people in the establishment who don’t like my doodles and will always say they aren’t art.” Yet that’s inconsequential to him.
