I probably shouldn't have found this as funny as I did but that scene in Charon's Claw where they throw the sword into the fire and then stare at Artemis for a full five minutes just waiting for him to drop dead. And when he doesn't Drizzt fully said with his mouth "do you feel a sense of impending doom" like he was reading off of a symptoms list on a cursed weapon webMD page

About Kimmuriel
So don’t get me wrong, his reputation is well-earned and he is by no means a tragic misunderstood good guy.
BUT
Does anyone else just feel really bad for him in the newer books? Like... he is just now starting to really open up and try to connect with other people in ways he hasn’t allowed himself to since Rai’gy/Rai-guy and be openly vulnerable in ways he has probably never willingly allowed himself to be (well... except that one time with the hivemind) and damn near everyone talks about him behind his back about what a weird illithid lover he is.
I mean, I get it.
But I also feel bad for him.

Prompt idea based on Drizzt Do'Urden’s story, where his love interest and all his adventure buddies pass away but years later are reincarnated with their memories intact because the gods needed them to reunite with Drizzt to save the world again. So what if years later Astarion is alone (maybe Lae'zel is still alive since no one ages in the Astral Sea) but Tav and the rest reincarnate to adventure with him again. And just like Drizzt in this life Astarion and Tav have a longer life together and have a kid.
This gives me some angst vibes, but it makes for some good writing. I would see him becoming a bounty hunter of sorts after Tav passed, also in the epilogue, it seems that Withers does hint at him having the ability to just call the group whenever the world falls into danger again.
Astarion x Reincarnated Tav Headcanons
Many years have passed since your death, regrettably leaving Astarion all alone for him to travel across the realm of Faerun. Although in his years of living as an immortal vampire spawn, his past self would never be phased by such a thing, just seeing death as another way of time passing swiftly.
Most of his former companions have passed on, except for Lae’zel who still wandered the astral plane, in which she never aged after centuries. The two sometimes meet up to talk with each other, but moments such as those are rare.
But after everything he went through with the mind flayers, with you especially, this felt different, as if he was missing a part of his heart.
Now left all by himself to wander across the planes of Faerun, with the ring of the sun walker you gifted him all those years back, a final parting gift from you allowing him to walk in the sun once again. He even keeps a small locket wrapped around his neck, with a portrait drawn by Oskar Fevras, capturing every aspect of your face that could be contained on such a small canvas.
There are more dhampirs across the sword’s coast than before, thanks in part to the over 7000 vampire spawn who were released and went to live their lives in the Underdark, which makes it slightly easier to blend in with the locals in certain areas. Especially as a bounty hunter, travelling across the planes in search of any beast and bandits to slay, either for some quick cash or a meal.
Although most residents from outside of the city have forgotten about the heroes who saved Baldur’s Gate and in turn the whole of Faerun from the threat netherbrain and the grand design as a whole, he’d still try to tell tales of your exploits to those at local taverns in hopes that your tale isn’t forgotten.
During these travels, he sometimes helps out with fledgling adventures, mainly in part to not become sloppy, some of these adventures are dhampirs who were raised in the Underdark, whom he gains a weird sense of kinship with.
He lectures the dhampirs about the tricks he’s learnt as a vampire spawn, encouraging them to not see their vampiric heritage as a burden, but more of a blessing in disguise.
Sometimes, whilst travelling with the young dhampirs, he ponders over what he could have had with you if you were here.
Some nights, he would reflect on that moment in the depths of palace dungeons, if rejecting the ascension ritual was the right choice. But he quickly reconsiders it after seeing others throughout his travels who were consumed by the unbridled power that pacts made with fiends from the hells had offered. Twisting what once was a desire to protect their beloved from harm into a lovesick obsession, wishing to keep them chained together for eternity for better or worse.
Even if he had the means to become a true vampire, the gift of immortality would have been impossible to bestow upon you since your body was irrefutably damaged during your death. Despite the damage done, he would travel to his old grave in the city, leaving your favourite flowers atop his grave, in hopes that whatever remains of your soul, would find your way back to a suited resting place.
One night, after returning from a difficult hunt, he notices a letter addressed to him, written in a familiar fragile hand, simply instructing him to return to the city of Baldur’s Gate to meet in the Elf Song tavern.
Upon his arrival at Elf Song, he recognised a familiar face that he hadn’t seen in a few years, now spouting a few more wrinkles upon her face than before, Lae’zel who was seated at a lone table in the centre of the tavern.
“Tsk, took you long enough Astarion or has your travels across the lands also twisted your sense of time judging by that tail you’ve grown on the back of your head?” she teased.
Briefly reminding the vampire of his curly-haired ponytail that he decided to keep over a decade or two ago.
“Hmph, travelling across Faerun has given me more experience than ever before, all that time up in the stars has seemed to give you a new set of wrinkles since we last met, but I pull them off better than you darling” he’d quip back.
The sound of clattering bones approaching them soon interrupts their conversation. Speak to the two of the return of the dead three yet again, wishing to plunge the world into chaos once again.
“And you expect just the two of us to take all three of them.”
Even the once stubborn Lae’zel agreed with Astarion, nodding silently towards Withers.
“As I would expect, though I invest a portion of power in those who have challenged the gods long ago who are prepared for battle once more.”
His frail arm directs them towards the doors of the tavern. A sight that he hadn’t seen in years, his friends all alive and well, nearly thought that this was a simple hallucination of his mind or a case of some bad blood he drunk the night before.
A loud voice pulls him from his thoughts as a heavy hand clasps over his shoulder, “Fangs! I didn’t recognise you there for a second, gods it feels amazing to be back with the gang again.” Karlach, looking the same way she did during her tadpole adventures, with one or two fewer scars, lets out a quiet hum of approval before standing up from his chair brushing through the crowd for any sign of you.
After a few minutes of looking around in silence, everyone he knew was there, alive and well, with perhaps one or two visual differences, but no notice of you. He gets up to leave, coming up with some half-heart excuse.
Approaching his old grave in the city, flowers that were placed since he last visited now wilted. Perhaps it was wishful thinking that the crusty old skeleton could bring you back alive, staring at the stone in silence before a soft voice interrupts him.
“Excuse me.”
Probably another flower seller here to pester him, replying in a harsh tone,
“Leave me alone, I’m not interested right now.”
Until he hears the voice speak once more in a quizzical tone “Astarion?”.
A voice he thought he had all but forgotten, turning around to see you alive in the flesh.
Even when the darkness swallowed Astarion, during your absence, you still kept his promise to find him again, as you always do. Perhaps it was the flowers that guided you back to him or your memories of him, but regardless you apologise for making him wait for so long.
He doesn’t say anything for a few seconds just staring at you softly, before walking towards you and embracing tightly, softly whispering “If it was for you, it was worth the wait.”
When you both embark upon your new adventure, he always sticks close to you holding your hand as tight as he can, even during the nights, holding your chest close to his ear, just to hear your heart beating in its rhythmic pattern, just to have the peace of mind that you won’t slip out of his grasp, disappearing once again. He tells you the tales of his travels and misadventures along the way, even about the current vampire and dhampir culture within some cities.
After the defeat of the dead three yet again, the gods, under Withers approval, decided to gift you and your comrades with a longer life span, partly in thanks and mostly as a just-in-case cause.
After the dust had settled, the two of you decided to purchase a home using the funds that Astarion had saved from his adventures as a bounty hunter. Enjoying the domestic lifestyle together.
One night he approaches you, sheepishly asking if you would be interested in having a third person in your relationship.
“What so like a child?”
“Only if you want to that is”
“After the tales you’ve told me of caring for the dhampirs I wouldn’t mind, even if it’s our own or another.”
He would spoil the child rotten of course, in his own way. But in the end, he’s relieved to finally find peace again with you by his side.

I'd love to learn more about the things you favor Astarion. Probably a mundane request forgive me on that.
"You wish to learn more about me?"
He seems to be a bit taken aback as his bright crimson eyes glance you up and down suspiciously. But after a moment of assessing whether or not you were harmless, he shrugs and runs a hand through his silver locks.
"I mean, I suppose I could tell you a few things. It's not like the others will appreciate my tastes in things,"
He takes a deep breath before rambling on about how great Drizzt Do'Urden is and random facts about him. You catch his eyes lighting up as he speaks of his adventures. Cute.

I Hail from Silverymoon: The First Kiss
Tumblr media
Pov my little fanfic, Astarion X Amaara(my wizard Tav) Finally some fluff. All my frustration and dissatisfaction towards BG3 were alleviated by kissing him 10 times a day in game =)
_______________________
Astarion sat staring blankly at the book in his hands, thoughts far away. His mind kept circling back to that moment a couple of days ago when he had confessed his feelings to Amaara. It had taken all the courage he could muster, and the memory of her embrace afterward was etched into his heart.
However, since that night, she hadn't sought him out, and a sense of doubt had begun to gnaw at him. He couldn't help but wonder if he had misunderstood the gesture. Perhaps the hug was just a polite way of saying goodbye. The uncertainty ate at him, and he found himself yearning for her presence, for the warmth of her smile, and for the sound of her laughter.
Over the past few nights, he had watched as Amaara spent her evenings with Lae'zel, engrossed in reading a githyanki book. It frustrated him to no end; the book had already been translated, and Amaara could have easily read it herself. Good thing they finally finished it. He wasn’t sure how many more nights of that he could take.
This evening, as he lingered by the campfire, a scene unfolded that only deepened his ache of longing. Amaara stood preparing a piece of pork, her hands covered with salt and herbs. Next to her, Gale stirred a pot, scooping some soup to blow delicately before feeding Amaara a taste.
Her eyes lit up in delight, savoring the taste. Their laughter filled the air as they shared their enthusiasm for some seasoning they had found. Their easy camaraderie oozed a profound connection Astarion envied. He watched the intimate exchange like an outsider peering through a frosted window. So commonplace, yet beyond his grasp.
Astarion gazed down at the book clutched in his hands - a rare first edition novel he'd discovered in an abandoned house earlier that day. He had secretly tucked it away in his own pack.
He vividly remembered her eager reaction to the tome Gale had shared. He pictured her keen eyes lighting up, soft lips curving into an appreciative smile when he presented this book to her as a gift.
But on second thought, simply handing over the book was not enough. No, better to draw out her anticipation, sharing a chapter or two each night by the campfire's glow. Let the tale unfold slowly through his theatrical narration, giving him an excuse to linger by her side night after night.
The party was gathered around the campfire after dinner. Amaara sat slightly apart, nose buried in a heavy tome, oblivious to the friendly chatter around her.
Astarion sidled up beside her, peering over her shoulder. "My, that looks terribly dull. All those tiny cramped letters, and not a single illustration," he said, wrinkling his nose in distaste.
"It's a chronicle of arcane discoveries in Thay," Amaara explained enthusiastically. "This chapter describes the properties of residuum and its catalytic effects when combined with-"
Astarion held up a hand, chuckling. "Spare me the lecture, my dear. Must your nose be glued to these interminable pages every night?" he chided lightly. "Tonight, I wish to share something far more stimulating."
He held up the leatherbound book bearing ornate silver lettering.
"The first edition of 'The Ballad of Drizzt'!" Amaara's eyes lit up in delight as she traced the embossed title. "However did you get your hands on this rare treasure?"
"I happened upon it in the house we visited today.” He opened the book, turning to the first chapter. "Now this is true literature, with prose as sharp as any rapier," he declared. Clearing his throat, Astarion began reading aloud, his cultured voice expertly infusing the tale with drama and suspense.
Amaara found herself enraptured by his performance. The nuance Astarion brought to the dialogue and description had her hanging on every word.
When at last he closed the book, Amaara applauded enthusiastically.
"Now that was a masterful performance! You truly brought the story to life," she praised.
Astarion flashed a pleased grin at her reaction. "I'm delighted you enjoyed it, my dear. Aren’t these beautifully written stories more rewarding than those dry arcane pages? We can do this every night, bedtime stories."
Astarion's gaze traced along Amaara's features, noting the way her eyes lingered on his lips before lifting to meet his own. A lovely smile spread across her face, carrying a mixture of fondness and shy anticipation, "I would really like that." she said softly.
Amaara's smile, so familiar and bright, filled Astarion's heart with warmth and eased his uncertainty. How he had missed that smile! He couldn't help but be drawn to her soft lips, yearning to feel their warmth against his own.
he leaned in slowly, his intent clear—a kiss, a tender moment of connection. But as he moved closer, Amaara's eyes widened, and she leaned away, creating an abrupt gap between them that was filled only by awkward silence.
Astarion's surprise quickly gave way to hurt, and he couldn't hide the flicker of pain that crossed his features. He had misunderstood, and rejection stung deeply. But then, Amaara reached out, placing her hand gently on Astarion's.
"Forgive me," she began, her voice soft with empathy. "I believed that any act of intimacy might make you uncomfortable. Please, you don't have to do this for my sake."
Astarion's hurt subsided as he realized her intentions. He shook his head gently, his voice filled with sincerity, "I would never say no to a tender kiss from you."
Amaara's smile returned, her eyes reflecting a mixture of relief and affection. "All right," she said, her own bashfulness shining through. "...May I?"
Astarion's heart filled with anticipation. "I would like nothing more," he replied with a soft, genuine smile.
So, she leaned in, closing the distance between them, and placed a gentle, soft kiss on his lips. It was a simple peck filled with warmth and affection, a sweet moment that spoke volumes about the feelings they shared.
A sudden bashfulness washed over Astarion as they pulled away, and if he could, he would have been blushing fiercely. He lowered his gaze for a moment, his words coming out in a soft, almost shy tone. "I really rather liked that, you know?"
He slowly reached out to caress her cheek, "I think… that counts as our first real kiss…and It was perfect.” Like a whisper of spring after endless winter. He silently added.
Seeing Amaara's rosy blush as she nested against him, he felt his unbeating heart swell. No further words were needed in that tender moment.

Another part of Icewind Dale that's been fucking grueling so far though... Ngl a part of me is actually fascinated by the historical fantasy worldbuilding done by A Certain Kind Of History Dude who clearly has no idea how history has ever actually worked. The hoops they jump through to convince you that history has never been what might be called "political" is, in its own way, kind of impressive.
Conflict has never been about stuff like colonialism, it's all about nebulous human themes like Tradition. Conflict is about Economy and Economy never involves anything like class or culture. Only trout. The entire machinations of this society revolves ONLY around trout. (I'm now genuinely harping about the trout, it's just really dumb ok.) Conflict is about different groups just being fundamentally different, usually with a clear evil one. Conflict is about all groups being greedy about THEIR FUCKING TROUT because it's just a nebulous human condition to be greedy. Racist also. And poor people are just poor because they aren't ambitious, as a little aside.
It's so...... ashistorical but also deeply uncurious about our own actual real life world right now.
So many "high" fantasy books are like this. The Certain Kind Of History Dudes have too much power in this genre. They get praised for their worldbuilding and it's just the most shallow understanding of how anything works ever.
And more nefarious is the way this seemingly innocent ignorance so quickly and easily justifies stuff like "well, it's totally chill for good guys to kill bad guys... because they're from a bad guy society." Drizzt will tie himself in knots if he has to kill the worst human you can possibly imagine, but swats down random orcs no problem. The way that seemingly creates no cognitive dissonace at all for these writers needs to be studied in a lab. It's all fun and games when we're talking about monsters, but then you think about how that translates into the real world using the exact same mechanisms and that isn't fun at all is it? The ways racist men can tell themselves they are good people follows similar mental gymnastics. Why are "humans" deserving of infinite grace and forgiveness even at their most evil but "orcs" are understood to be inherently a lost cause? Why really? What is that mechanism really? It's been particularly egregious as I'm trying to slog my way through The Crystal Shard because, like, we can generously say that the "barbarians" are based on vikings, but ngl all I'm getting from this dynamic is Salvatore playing "cowboys and indians" but with white people. The general underlying vibes... And maybe that's what I'm trying to get at with what I'm describing in the fantasy races too. If you take off the mask, it all just feels like "cowboys and indians." A trope so deeply embedded in American genre fiction which has always just been incredibly racist this whole time.
These books are such whiplash because unfortunately I do love the characters but boy I wish I could save them from these books sometimes. The Crystal Shard has been soooo much worse than the other books so far imo, so I'm hoping the series chills tf out again generally.

one day i will do a grand breakdown essay on Why Jarlaxle and Kimmuriel’s Relationship Makes Me Incredibly Unhinged With Citations but for now you get this abridged version. Spoilers for Lolth’s Warrior/last book in particular but also Generations and other Way of the Drow books a little bit. also this is STILL a long post i’m sorry I am VERY not normal about this
so last trilogy (generations) kimmuriel's all, man i wish i was an illithid. i like illithids. hive mind's great. love those guys.
But here, in this place, nothing was measured in that manner. In this place, Kimmuriel Oblodra didn’t exist, other than to be a single colligation in the one being that was the whole of illithid society. Here in the hive mind, his fingers caressing the great pulsing brain, the edifice of connection and oneness, thoughts and memories became interchangeable and mingled.  Study in the hive mind was merely a matter of searching what had become your own expansive knowledge and memories rather than hearing or reading the words of a separate being. Kimmuriel often lamented that he should have been born an illithid. The hive mind knew this truth within the drow’s heart, of course, which explained why he was so welcomed here. One could not easily hide insincerity in this place. One could not easily hide anything from the illithids.
A large part of the individual that was Kimmuriel wanted to just stay here. Let Luskan and Bregan D’aerthe be the concerns of another. He could remain at the hive mind and caress knowledge itself, bask in pure thought, revel in memories as visceral as if he had walked those pathways in the lonely and singular drow form he had been forced to wear.
and then in THIS trilogy (way of the drow) kimmuriel has mentioned it's also going to be his afterlife as a way of rejecting the concept of a god-given one/escaping the clutches of Lolth, or any god, entirely
“The multiverse is a matter of divine numbers,” Kimmuriel said. “The particulars of the tyrant gods are merely noise—temporary noise in the ultimate eternity of it all. We are manifestations of pure and singular thought, grains of sand on an endless beach or drops of water in the endless ocean that splashes onto that beach. The hive mind is a conduit into that pure and singular thought. It is my destiny to directly merge, to become less speck and less droplet, and more a viewer of it all. You felt the power when we channeled it from the hive mind to obliterate Demogorgon those years ago. You felt it, the ecstasy.” this kind of description is also imo, implicitly has thematic connections to transcendence; kimmuriel is interested in it, he asks drizzt for his opinions as drizzt has gone through a similar process, he examines the memories of Kane’s own transcendence, etc. It’s not the same but it is similar. Transcendence is a process that is easy to initiate and hard to come back from because you essentially become one with the universe and it's so ecstatic and amazing that you have trouble remembering who you are as an individual, and if you lose that thread enough, you kinda cease to exist as like, yourself. You just get lost in the sauce, forever. but, some kind of strong emotion and focus can bring you back from it, if you go in with a purpose and you manage to maintain that purpose: 'ecstasy' is a key word here because kimmuriel uses it to describe what channeling the power of the hive mind/being tapped into that pure conduit is like, and vitally, to strengthen the connection, transcendence is also described this way:
“The body will not turn back and the mental and emotional discipline needed to deny that call of ecstasy is enormous. When you transcend, you will know such joy, unrelenting, even building as time, which becomes meaningless, passes, yet the time to find the needed discipline, the denial of pure desire, is short, and failure means that you will be forever removed from this existence. Afafrenfere just stared at him, jaw hanging open. “I know not how to put it more clearly or bluntly,” the ancient monk answered that blank stare. “You will not want to come back, and so you, as you are known and as you know yourself, will be no more.” So, i posted all that text, now i'm gonna get into the next bit Several books have established that Kimmuriel is lonely without psionic connection and the hivemind fills an unmet need in him.
However, as a direct counterpoint to the hive mind and what it is capable of giving him (despite its love for him, and I do believe it’s reasonable to interpret this passage: Arguments came back at him from so many other corners of the hive mind, though. He was unique here, or nearly so. Only this synapse of the hive mind, this being named Kimmuriel, that existed in that drow reality in that world of Faerun, could bring in such expansive experiences and knowledge of that place. He would be limiting the hive mind and thus limiting himself if he lost the balance between recipient and source. as a kind of love, even if it is an ‘alien’ expression of it; Kimmuriel is worth more to them as an individual and not an illithid, even as an outsider, than he is joined and subsumed to them) we have...stuff like this:
Kimmuriel’s work here was done. He offered that thought to Pescatawav, and the Most Endeared excused him to go and tend to the more pressing problems he faced on his home plane, among his own inferior people. There was no sense of gratitude, no thoughts of hope that Kimmuriel would succeed. It just was. There were a few moments like this for Kimmuriel Oblodra, when he almost reconsidered his life’s journey, when he saw so plainly the difference between the sensibilities of the hive mind and those of Jarlaxle. His only friend. we also have jarlaxle getting kinda disassembled and put back together by the hive mind so his memories can be deconstructed and it's kind of funny but also Kimmuriel had been desperately worried about subjecting his dearest friend to the intrusions of the mind flayers. Perhaps he should have been more worried about subjecting the illithids to the sensibilities of Jarlaxle.
Jarlaxle is So Much that he’s kind of affected the hive mind. Good job buddy. But it means they now have that connective tissue: Kimmuriel cannot hide anything from the illithids including whatever strong feelings he has for Jarlaxle, and Jarlaxle is also very attached to Kimmuriel: “Kimmuriel is your second.” “He’s the other half of my first. In my part of Bregan D’aerthe, in my, shall we say, personal journeys, you are my partner.”
Like really attached: “Where will you go?” Jarlaxle pleaded when Kimmuriel didn’t answer. “ “You know,” the hulking possessed man replied audibly. “No,” Jarlaxle breathed. “I won’t let you!” Drizzt saw that Jarlaxle was fighting back tears. [...] “There is an emptiness . . . I will miss you, Kimmuriel,” Jarlaxle said, as quiet as Drizzt had ever heard the rogue.
Like, really really attached:
“I am lesser without you, my friend,” Jarlaxle told the image. “Both practically and in my heart.”
I could go on but I’m trying to make this short etc there’s like a fucking billion examples.
So. Kimmuriel is not content with just his mortal body on his own plane, which is a lonely existence, or just feeding his mind which is essentially what the hive mind does for him. He needs friends and people to like...make physical existence worthwhile to actually reach a pleasant equilibrium. His more passive suicidal tendencies actually sort of ebb after Generations, where he is considering mortality carefully but also is like "i'm not sure i actually want to die":
“So, he let you in there and he gave to you his memories of transcending the physical form.” “And now I understand better. But of course, there remain limitations on that understanding, because such an act may or may not be a permanent state of being.” “There’s only one way to find out the truth,” Drizzt admitted. “I am in no hurry to leave this life.”
So he's clearly found some sense of purpose to make being physical work for him , and again! A large part of that is Jarlaxle! He names other friends (especially Gromph) but a LARGE part of that is Jarlaxle.
And then he fucking dies of course I've shrieked enough about that lmao
and when he says goodbye he confirms that yes, he is going to his ideal afterlife, where Drizzt hopes he finds peace similar to transcendence:
“My time is ending,” the voice of Malagdorl repeated. “There is nothing to be done.” “Except to say farewell,” Drizzt said. “I will remember our talks on the road to the monastery, my friend. May you find oneness with the hive mind and peace in eternity.” “And you, warrior. Survive, I beg.”
joining the hive mind, a cluster of individuals swirling into a greater ‘being’ and is also referred to as ecstatic, is compared and contrasted to a process of becoming one with the universe that is hard to come back from as yourself because it feels That Good.
Got all that? Good. Because now we get to the epilogue of Lolth’s Warrior:
Jarlaxle left them, then, and went to his private room. He sat down before a table and pulled a cloth off the circular object resting in a tri-pronged stand atop it. He closed his eyes and reached out, hoping. A familiar image appeared in the ball a long while later, and Jarlaxle breathed a sigh of relief. “I am glad you are floating about this day,” Jarlaxle said. “You miss me.” This day, he heard in his mind, a most familiar voice. And perhaps again, now and then. Jarlaxle understood the unsaid part: Kimmuriel would not come to him at his beckon. Less so, came the thought in his mind. There is so much. So much. “And so much I still need from you.” You will be disappointed.
[...] “I am lesser without you, my friend,” Jarlaxle told the image. “Both practically and in my heart.” It is the way of things. And that was it, and the spirit of Kimmuriel departed once more. Perhaps for the last time, Jarlaxle knew, though he desperately hoped that wouldn’t be the case. Here he is!  It’s not a summoning circle or a calling spell, it simply just seems to be that Jarlaxle reaches out and hopes that Kimmuriel will be around to answer him, and he does. Taking Jarlaxle's gay little sad thought calls, plural, because they have done this several times already, is worth it to Kimmuriel, enough to tear himself away from his ideal, implied to be VERY GOOD FEELING AFTERLIFE for.
Enough to maintain a sense of self and individuality because he speaks to Jarlaxle like he's the same person, just very distracted and its like WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS. like fucking. Im not even getting into the implications that it's rooted in love, like, the hive mind’s love for kimmuriel as an individual and kimmuriel’s love for jarlaxle and jarlaxle’s love for kimmuriel?? subtextually? becuase jarlaxle is the only one who has consistently treated kimmuriel like a person
To trust Kimmuriel is to trust a creature we cannot begin to decipher. Why Jarlaxle elevated him to lead Bregan D’aerthe, I will never understand.” “Perhaps Jarlaxle believes that he understands Kimmuriel.” “Then Jarlaxle fools himself.”
they are noted by other characters to be extremely close to the point that they have a trust bond that is rare among menzo drow:
Now, though, I witness a much different structure within Bregan D’aerthe, and one very much more powerful. For Jarlaxle has given to his followers something truly special among the Lolth-serving drow: an element of trust. And he does so by example. Jarlaxle has entrusted Kimmuriel Oblodra with the very leadership of the band on those many occasions when he, Jarlaxle, is out on some adventure or other. He has even tasked Kimmuriel with reining in his own worst excesses—with keeping Jarlaxle himself in line!
(also see the other half of my first thing; when Jarlaxle says Zak is his partner Zaknafein immediately rebuts it with “Kimmuriel is your partner”) they go from standoffish and awkward to like calling each other friends and kimmuriel being Totally Fine with jarlaxle just touching him unprompted, a guy whose personal space bubble is Don’t Fucking Touch Me Asshole:
“I hesitate to take Azzudonna, this woman I barely know and know not at all as a friend, and you expect me to subject you to the intrusion of the hive mind?” “Why, Kimmuriel, did you just admit that you love me?” Jarlaxle teased, but the psionicist was having none of it. “Good,” said Jarlaxle, nodding to his drow companions. “Then I want you to cast it now on my dear friend here,” he explained, wrapping his arm about Kimmuriel. and then kimmuriel dies and this literally does not slow him down. and then he dies and, as the epilogue shows, comes back to jarlaxle anyway.
like it's not even thematically inappropriate is what fucking gets me, because kimmuriel has already established he is someone who essentially lives in two worlds and needs both to be happy and the conclusion is that he doesn't have to choose, he can have both, and that mirrors jarlaxle's defiance of having to give things up to be 'good' Jarlalxle doesn't have to abandon everything he was just so he can become Good and Palatable to a surface world that doesn't give a shit about him (drizzt did this only out of desperation, even; his flight and rejection and all of it, for him menzo is a home that he wanted so badly to belong to, it hurts to leave, but he knows he has to because he can’t bear it. that’s a different essay though). he can have all of it, as much as he can carry. he wants all of it. he hates to let go of it. that refusal to let go saves almost three thousand people from menzoberranzan. kimmuriel's refusal to be forced into a choice means he comes back to jarlaxle in some way and form, even with the deck stacked against him to make it incredibly fucking difficult to do so and again, kimmuriel has literally everything he has ever wanted in dying, everything he's ever aspired to, the One Truth he’s been reaching toward, and it is, apparently, still not enough.
In conclusion:
“Look at yourself!” Gromph scolded. “You care. Kimmuriel Oblodra— and how remarkable that any Oblodra or Odran cares! Have you gone soft, then? Have you abandoned your sole goal in life, to find the One Eternal Truth along with those tentacle waggling illithids?” Kimmuriel wanted to deny his words, to deny him, but his responses sounded without conviction. “Have you become enamored of the flesh, Kimmuriel?” Gromph asked more seriously. “Have you found within your emotionless mind a bit of love for that which we mere mortals covet?” idk man look at it its on the ceiling. i dont fucking know. i truly do not know. i am not going to be normal about this for the next five years.
Bonus:
When Kane is talking to Afa about transcendence and Afa’s reasons for transcendence (he wants to find his dead boyfriend again):
“Nothing in the multiverse is more powerful than love, my friend,” Kane said, and he smiled, and moved his hand.
Like sure okay whatever. Sure. It sure is huh.

When They Double Down on Bad Takes
The person with the Bad Take about the Raksura books blocked me, so I can't respond to them directly. This is a fine, rational and valid decision. However, they indirectly replied to my response to them in a reblog, so I'm going to address it, and then work on something else. (Probably still Raksura related though.)
They indicate that the "racist connotations" of the Fell "true form" (tm) being black could have been averted by creating two factions of "Good Fell" and "Bad Fell." Apparently, they do not realize this is what we like to call "racist as fuck" in polite society. Or what we can call "The Drizzt Do'Urden Gambit" (That is, singular "good" representatives of an otherwise "default evil species.)
Let's break down why this suggestion is inherently (though obviously inadvertently because it's clear the op doesn't realize) racist.
To Split the inherently Bad Group into Factions of Good and Evil replicates the problem of "Inherent good and inherent evil" that you would want to avoid. Yes, even if it's within the same species. "One of the Good Ones, Not Like the Others (who are bad/evil/lazy)," is inherently racist, and plays on positive/negative stereotypes.
So, lets talk about stereotypes! A stereotype is a generalized and assumed belief about groups of people. Stereotypes can be about behavior, philosophy, or interpretations of the customs and beliefs of the group. Stereotypes can be positive or negative, and the "positivity" or "negativity" of that stereotype can shift depending on the situation. This is why stereotypes are universally Really Terrible and should be avoided.
A racist person or a person with unexamined racism (yes, there is a difference in my opinion, and it largely depends on how hard it is to call them out on it, and the person's willingness to correct themself) will have a number of stereotypes filed away, both positive and negative for the group they are prejudiced against. This makes it easier for them to continue to hold to their prejudices when they are confronted with individuals of the group they're prejudiced against acting in ways that don't match the stereotypes they have for that group. (This is why it's difficult to educate, and why it's difficult to self-examine. You may not realize your "positive" stereotypes about a group are as racist and bad as your "negative" stereotypes.)
Now, the greater arc of of the Fell/Raksura conflict is about confronting unexamined prejudice in my opinion. (Specifically, the unexamined prejudice one might have for longstanding enemies, not necessarily for an oppressed or disenfranchised minority. The Fell are specifically the former and not the latter, and there is a difference. It's a difference of power dynamics.)
Moon and the other Raksura hate and are afraid of the Fell, with some extremely valid reasons. (Slightly more personal in the case of Moon in the sense that he's been repeatedly driven out of communities because his flighted form somewhat resembles a Fell. And of course that entire horrifying situation with that one ruler.) They do possess a number of prejudices and stereotypes concerning the Fell. It takes a long while before they come to understand that their prejudices and stereotypes are inaccurate or just plain incorrect. (Incorrect in the sense that the Fell are for the most part NOT choosing to behave the way they do, and would choose differently if they were not being controlled by the rulers and Progenitors in a toxic mind control cycle of abuse moebius reacharound.)
It's important to note here that when the Raksura realize that they were wrong, they begin to make an effort to correct their behavior toward the Fell. This results in their establishing continued social contact with Consolation's Flight. (I really do wish we could get more of Consolation's Flight from Wells. I just really want those kids to Do Well for themselves.)
Again, the winged form of the Fell being black while the groundling form of the Fell is white is not an indication of racist imagery. It is a very weird take and does not stand up as symbolism because the Fell are still predators whether they are in groundling or winged form? I'm also not sure where they get the idea that Wells' shifters have "true" forms and "alternate forms." It's pretty clear that both the winged and groundling forms are the "true shape," as far as the Fell or Raksura are concerned. (Also also, the Fell groundling form is described as "sickly pale." Not necessarily pretty or harmless appearing. Again, a Fell is equally dangerous and predatory whether in groundling or winged form.)

Regis continues to be the bitch of all time I'm enjoying this conflict he's having in this book between his two identities from his two lives that the other companions of the hall don't seem to be having, or at least aren't having to the same degree, it's very very fun

Hi my name is Drizzt Daermon N'a'shezbaernon Do'Urden and I have stark white hair (that’s how I got my name) with porcelain streaks and alabaster tips that reaches my mid-back and bright lavender eyes like pale amethyst and a lot of people tell me I look like Gerard Way (AN: if u don’t know who he is get da hell out of here!). I am related to Malice Do'Urden but I wish I wasn't because she majorly fucking sucks. I’m a drow, in case you couldn't tell, but I have forsaken the evil ways of my people and my home in the Underdark. I have dark black skin. I’m also a ranger, and I go to a grove called Mooshie's Grove in the Rauvin Mountains where I’m in the seventh year (I’m a hundred and seventeen). I’m a goth (in case you couldn’t tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Shining Knight Arms and Armor and I buy all my equipment from there. For example today I was wearing a black mithral chainmail with a forest green cloak over it and charcoal leather faulds, my Bracers of the Blinding Strike and jet leather boots. I was wearing raven lipstick, obsidian foundation, ebony eyeliner and purple eye shadow. I was walking outside Mooshie's Grove. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about, because the bright light of the Surface still hurts my eyes. A lot of Matron Mothers stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.

Ny'fein Durs'rend'aen as a companion (aka: what if you could recruit redemption durge?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Baldur's Gate 3 Companion! Tav Ask List
What if your Tav was a recruitable companion, instead of the main character?  (contains major spoilers for the game, and for some dark urge runs as well)
General
Where can your Tav be recruited?  Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region?  Or are they not recruitable until a later act?
Ny'fein would be met on the Nautiloid, and then probably again immediately between Astarion and Gale. If for some reason you miss him there, you'll find him held captive by Kressa at moonrise.
Do the other companions have special comments or reactions upon recruiting your Tav?
Astarion: A Drow Bard? How novel. Though I wonder....Do you think he might know Drizzt?
Lae'zel: If we must.
Karlach: Do you think he knows Drizzt? Is it...would it be weird if I asked?
Wyll: He looks familiar but I don't know why. I'm sure he'll be a fine addition to our party.
Gale: I find bards quite fascinating, you know. Do you think he'd be okay answering some questions? Wait, why are Karlach and Astarion crowding around him?
Does your Tav have any comments or advice when you recruit other companions?
Persuasion roll of 80 to keep him on the team if you recruit Minthara. As a male drow, he wants nothing to do with her.
What sort of general actions raise or lower their approval?
Ny'fein is a redemption durge, so while I'm reasonably certain his alignment pre-tadpole is true evil, post tad-pole he's chaotic neutral. He likes when you help people, he likes a good joke, and he's not going to enjoy it if you're cruel for no reason.
Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions?
Recruiting Minthara, regardless of circumstance. Endangering children.
Do they have any secrets that can be revealed?  What are the prerequisites for this secret coming to light?
Ny'fein is made of secrets, since he's a bhaalspawn with a memory disorder. The first hints of something will happen at the goblin camp, when the three chosen look familiar even in silhouette.
Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game?  Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
"Healing wounds": origin durge questlines about putting things to rights and regaining memories, and taking down the chosen.
What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp?  How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again?
When asked to stay in camp, he would pull out his violin and simply start playing a dirge. When asked to go adventuring, he'd say "ever by your side" if romanced or "as you wish" if good approval. If approval is low, he'd literally just say "fine."
Does your Tav have any escalating conflicts with one of the other companions, like Lae’zel and Shadowheart’s knife-fight?
He's truly suspicious of Shadowheart, and while he doesn't dislike her, she puts him ill at ease.
Are there any unique NPCs associated with your Tav that can show up during the course of the game?
Quill Grootslang, a dragonborn bard who comes to camp after you meet Alfira. Sceleritas Fel. Sarevok.
Are there any moments in the game that trigger unique dialogue for your character? (Like Gale’s anecdote about the barfight after you save the goblin prisoner)
He keeps most of those as inside thoughts, but once you've made it to moonrise his memory starts to come back and he talks a lot more. If you recruit him at moonrise, once you get to the city, he talks a LOT. There will be a special cut scene with Gortash and a separate one with Orin.
Story Specific
How does your Tav advise the player character when it comes to the Dream Visitor?
Ny'fein doesn't trust them but since they offered help with his memory issues, he's intrigued.
How do they advise the player character on Raphael?
"He looked at me like I was food, it made me uncomfortable" "I think we should avoid him" "My claws are sharper" "I feel like I've met him before"
How do they react to Astarion biting the Player Character?
"....how did you NOT realize he was a vampire. Wait, did NONE of you know? Seriously??". No approval loss or gain, but he's def a little jealous. Of both of you.
How do they react to the Player Character letting Abdirak whip them?
If he, Shadowheart, and Astarion are with you during the Abdirak scene, expect the banter to be sexually charged and absolutely inappropriate. He's _way_ too into it.
How do they react to the Player Character taking their first tadpole power?
Very, very suspicious. No approval loss or gain, but they won't join Tav in consumption. Roll of 100 needed to convince them to consume tadpoles.
Will they stay with the Player Character regardless of siding with the goblins or the Tieflings, or is it possible for them to leave the party permanently?
if Tav sides with the goblins, they leave. If this happens, you'll find them dead in Orin's chambers just like you would find durge if they hadn't joined the party at all.
What can they be found doing at the tiefling/goblin party?
Ny'fein is a bard, so he'll be playing music at least a little bit. Other than that if he isn't romanced, he's flirting his head off with Rolan and Halsin, maybe even Zevlor.
Do they have comments on who the Player Character chooses to spend the night with?
only in so far as "Who are you going for so I don't go for them as well" and "I want to hear about it tomorrow" before sauntering off to his own conquest.
Do they have unique dialogue if the Player Character lets them die when they steal the Blood of Lathander?
Seething anger. You will lose approval. He will pout.
How do they react if the PC licks the dead spider in the Gauntlet of Shar?
He would sigh, heavily, and say "I'm putting that in the song, you know".
What do they say if the PC tries to force them to go up on stage with Dribbles the Clown?
"I cannot express how much I detest you at this moment." "This isn't my scene" "Can't Astarion do it?"
Is it possible for your Tav to be kidnapped and replaced by Orin?  How is Orin's deception revealed?  How do they react to the PC rescuing them in the Temple of Bhaal?
Since they're Durge, I'm inclined to think Orin would vastly prefer to kidnap them over the other companions. I think the deception would be revealed by "Ny'fein" trying to kill whomever they have the most party banter with, and the companions thinking they've given into the urge. When Tav gets to the temple, they have to use "Help" to free Ny'fein after the fight with Orin starts. From there, Ny'fein becomes the only playable combat character, forcing Tav from the fight and into the "sanctuary" area.
How do they react to the PC either allowing Astarion to ascend or convincing him to spare the 7000 spawn?
Ny'fein gets it either way, but since he's fighting so hard against his Urge, he'd be disappointed his friends succumbed to their desire for power.
How does Tav react to the PC becoming a mind flayer?  Can they offer to become one themselves?  Does their reaction change if they’re romanced?
Ny'fein cannot offer to become the mindflayer, and if the player asks them to, their approval drops and Ny'fein will explain he only just got his soul, he doesn't want to lose it. Ny'fein will support Tav's choice but will not stay with them, romantically, if they become a mindflayer.
How do they react when the Dark Urge first reveals their amnesia and murderous thoughts to them?
not answering since this would actually be Tav reacting to them.
How do they react to the Dark Urge killing Alfira?
skipping this one as well since they are the durge.
If romanced, how do they react to the Dark Urge trying to kill them in Act 2?
see above.
Romance
Is your Tav a romanceable character?  Are there any specific requirements to romancing them?
Ny'fein is romanceable. Tav would have to be supportive of them about their memory loss and trying to fight their dark urge.
Does your Tav need to be flirted with to start the romance, or will they approach the PC themselves if approval is high enough?
They'd approach Tav if the approval is high enough, and they'd be very forward about it. If recruited at moonrise, their romance moves really fast and they're basically seducing Tav outright.
Are they a polyamorous or a monogamous option?
Poly! Theyr'e okay mono, but Ny'fein would really enjoy having multiple lovers, and they would support Tav exploring their emotions and sexuality with others as well.
Do they have a special romance scene at the tiefling/goblin party?
Ny'fein's tent is bigger on the inside and Tav discovers this during the Tiefling party. They also discover Ny'fein is handy with a silence spell. Goofy, explicit scene.
Does the romance have different branching paths, or just one route to take?
The romance can develop in different ways depending on how the player interacts with Ny'fein, and I feel like there's a happy romance ending and a sad one.
How do they react to the player character breaking up with them, or choosing another character over them?
A little spiteful and they certainly carry a grudge about it. Ny'fein immediately starts sleeping around, loudly, just to irritate Tav.
What questions can Zethino ask the PC about Tav in the Love Test?
What does he desire most? What does he wish to destroy, more than anything? When do they feel most themselves?
If they’re poly, do they have a reaction to the PC engaging in a relationship with Halsin?
Raised eyebrow, digging through their pouch, handing over a healing potion, a bottle of silver swirling oil that glitters, and a bottle that feels cold. "Trust me, you'll...you'll need these". They would want to participate after Tav x Halsin settle into their relationship.
How do they react if the PC has sex with Mizora? The Emperor?  Haarlep?
Utter indifference. Their body, their choice. Though, they do worry a little about Tav after Haarlep.
Will they join in with the PC and the Drow Twins, or no?
They absolutely would, enthusiastically.
What are Tav’s plans for the future?  Do they propose to the PC, or is marriage not something they’re interested in?
A nice quiet life, somewhere nice that's a city without a bhaalist presence. They'd settle down with their polycule or Tav, or just go off on their own. Ny'fein would likely open a small bardic school.
Free space! Share anything from your companion!Tav au!
-Ny'fein is OLD. like, really old. But since he's bhaalspawn, he doesn't age properly on top of being notoriously slow-to-age-drow. -If Tav is evil, Ny'fein really struggles to stay in the party and if Tav wants to keep them it's constant persuasion rolls. -In act 2, if Kressa has Ny'fein, when you find him, he's is in the middle of being experimented on and uses the tadpole to call out to you. He compels you to rescue him and apologizes for it after. -I very much believe that if they're recruited at moonrise, they have an accelerated romance path with Tav, and are particularly inclined to romance Tav if Tav is with Astarion/Astarion and Halsin -I think that the moment he sees Gortash, there's an oddly intimate cut scene between Gortash and Ny'fein, with everyone kinda...lookin' on awkwardly. I think Karlach would be LIVID and need convincing to stay in the party after Ny'fein's past is revealed, especially because I HC Ny'fein and Gortash as former lovers. -I don't think Ny'fein ever met or knew Karlach, but I think Karlach wouldn't care too much about that. -Tav can kick Ny'fein out after learning who they are, and Ny'fein will still show up as a support character at the elder brain as long as Orin has already been handled. -As for fighting Orin, I feel like having Ny'fein in party means Orin has to be handled shortly after taking the rooms at the elfsong. It would be a timed thing and if it isn't handled, Ny'fein dies. -Sarevok would give Tav additional information and a map to save Ny'fein/take down Orin. -Orin will have definitely tortured Ny'fein. When you arrive at the temple, Ny'fein is very battered and bloodied.

Posting my current list of things i wanna draw cause honestly, id much rather see someone elses take on a lot of them.
Most of these are labeled under "degenerate art ideas" so take from that what you will.
Please feel free to use any one of these.
-----
- The Kiss from fallout. If you know you know. Bane and bhaal with a dead durge and gortash.
-Comic: Astarion in trouble and drizzt comes out of nowhere all heroic and saves him and hes all doe eyed n shit.
-Halsin and mr meadhoney. "Do you have a particular fondness for large and...heavily armed men, mr. Meadhoney?"
-Lucretious the necromancer and astarion dancing the tango together with the skellies in the back playing music."The dead are always such superb dancers."
-Comic: Lucretious topping astarion, bent over the stages edge. "What if we put you in my show darling. Im sure we could find something for a star like you...something youd love as much as the crowd."
"Youd make a spectacle of me?"
"In front of THOUSANDS who come just to see the most perfect beauty in all of the planes."
"Oh yes i quite like the thought of that."
-Comic: "Orin: you suck up the tyrants vapors like a babe sucks milk."
"Durge: tch fuckin yeah i do."
"Astarion: D:<!!?"
"Orin: *quinten terantino scowl that she does*"
-Vellioth as the "i yearn for the urn" tiktok
- astarion amputee doodles (thank you godey for that idea)
-3 musketeers quote "i love that in a man." "What. Passion?" "Violence" but ghoap or durge. Maybe make a version of both?
-when (doodly dude) hit me real hard that one night and my jaw rattled in my skull all nasty, but make it durgestarion hehehehehehe
-Astarion licking blood from durge in one of the pools of blood (idea from mignon scene)
-Durgetash comic of demon slayer masochism abridged thing with the lady man demon
- bg3 crew bein a bunch of rly cute parrots doin dumb cute things.
-same idea but theyre all shoebill storks.
-comic: "Mighty sanctum" bit, then durge pulls astarion into his lap and kisses him. "Fairly certain you would castrate me if i tried to fuck you right here like i want...im still not sure if thats a deterrent or temptation" but ya know...better written.
"bloody degenerate...unhand me."
"Let go of my neck then."
"No"
"Well then...")
-Mungojerrie from cats and astarion both comolimenting each others pearls and casually holding something they swiped from the other. Riumpleteaser and durge are snickering and sharing a look, while RT has swiped something of durges, durge is pulling out his/her dagger
- Durge/Tav painting astarion in gold, and feeding him blood in a hedonism date night. he thinks the gold paint is just for tav. But he keeps saying "i just want you to see yourself as i see you." And stuch things.
He leads him to a giant ass mirror and lo and behold, there he is. In the flesh. The colors arent there of course. Hes looks like a statue, but its still...its more than the statue, its more than a portrait.
-Lyrical comic of durgetash ritual by ghost
-comic: Astarion is walking with the gang. He looks up to see something and narrows his eyes. He suddenly bursts into bats, flies up onto the space he was trying to peer at and reappears in a panic. Somethin like....
"I was eight bats...how...fuck...gods how am i supposed to even process that!?
Astarion are you alri
"I WAS IN EIGHT FUCKING PLACES AT ONCE TAV I AM NOT ALRIGHT"
-comic- Volothamp talking to tav about a rat exodus from "a mysterious "red castle" " where their bretheren kept going missing. So they gave up the territory and moved to a "red cave" just beneath it, where blood flows even more freely.
Astsrion recognizes the palace, and remembers a time where rats were in such short supply that cazador had simply switched to insects for a while. Well with astarion he had, the rest had been treated to cats and dogs, in order to lessen the threat against the local rat population. Durge in the meantime, has an odd memory about commanding rats to find reconnisance if they wish to find safety with (fuzzy writing that doesnt quite translate to words)
-Astarions ascension but its happy with evil hugs.
-Durge reacting to the gnoll birth holy hells that was funny.
-Durge eviscerating astarion while he arches off the ground as if in ecstacy rather than pain. Theyre both laughing in wild, crying hysterics and theres those timasks spores everywhere.
-Comic: A -Astarion in the mirror frowning and looking distressed, even a little pissed in a mini panel, as he pinches a small amount of belly fat. Hes a very healthy weight but like 200 years o trauma dawg. Next pannel he looks thoughtful (considering that hes never had enough to eat before to warrant gaining rather than steadily losing weight), third panel he looks up in a catlike manner and fingertip taps his stomach near his hip. Very silly smug cat face meme feels here
-Chaste kiss canon durgestarion/tash vs nasty canon durgestarion/tash
-Comic of vellioth uncovering mummystarion from crypt.
-Comic of astarion fucking posessed n bound durge in the shar library.
-An archer in general doing leg archery. Maybe two goofballs doin it at each other with silly faces. I can see any combo of minsc and lazel and astarion doing this weirdly enough.
-spit/ blood exchange between s/a astarions.
-That moment when astarion is blissed out in the sauce under durge in the grove. Maybe a pov where theres drops of blood mid fall, and theres two hands smearing it all over his chest.
-A astarion sitting on bhaals altar while durge and gortash dogfight.
-Gortash with his hand inside a lasceration in durges belly, squeezing himself off all slowlike inside durge. bloody handprints everywhere, though some have turned to black sooted handprints. Theyre kissing all disgustin
-Slayer and a predator Shilouetted gwtw style
-Astarion getting railed by a Predator.
-Lazel getting railed by a Predator.
-Honestly just put everyone in every fandom with a predator at some point like fu c ks sake
-Comic of the superimposed cazador murder/thunderstorm blood frenzy xex scene from that one fic i never finished
-The king E x Ragnar bath scene but nasty. (Also durgetash?)
-Astarion with floorlength hair and dripping with pearls, looking a little emaciated, or perhaps just extra slender themes to the art
Two smaller panels where vellioth h it away and carefully styles it while figaros corpse lays in the corner. Vellioth should look younger but less pretty.
-Durge slips his hands into astarions back pockets (in this comic he has invented ass pockets) "butt"
He goes "no, butt." And walks away. Durge looks down at his hands that are still right there where his butt was. And he squeezes the air with a smile

#14 The Lone Drow
Tumblr media
Start: August 2nd, 2023
End: August 6th, 2023
Card: 6 of spades
Tweet: "Drizzt has gone feral and all his friends went home. Obould got a promotion from king to god king. Drizzt gets new friends but swiftly loses half of them. Bruenor is comatose but no one can find his DNR. In the end you win some, you lose some, and sometimes you explode them."
10/10 WIN!!!
This book absolutely fab ;; not a dull moment
So Catti-brie is having sword problems again controlling her bloodlust.
Drizzt very much wants someone like him, and his wish is fulfilled by Innovindil.
The dwarves hang onto Bruenor as a beacon of hope, and that if they had let him die then that symbolically mean that all hope was lost, it was the idea of Bruenor, of an inspiring leader that they held onto. Drizzt in the meantime had a good cry session believing he had nothing left to lose. I don't know where I'm going with this. Hey speaking of his cry sesh he names his losses of Zak, Bruenor, Ellifain, the other companions. It's better that she was left out but at least spare some mind for your sister that raised you, was yet another victim to the lolth cult, and forsaken lolth while dying in your arms dude
Tumblr media
Regis my beloved - that is all - actually wait i'm not done ; time and time again Regis steps up for the family who loves him his duty lies with them
Things are getting tense between obould's army and his allies ; i hope gerti decides to team up against him teehee
I hope things turn out alright for nanfoodle - he's not all that willful and shoudra was a very large force in keeping everyone off their suspicious tale.
Pikel should take a page out of Merle Highchurch's book
But now the dwarves (save for 51) are within Mithral hall and a reunion with Drizzt seems very unlikely (although they were very close!)
But obould seems unstoppable now as he just keeps getting upgrades - cant type gotta read nao
