Do you think the Zelda dungeons (specifically link to the past) would port well to d&d?
I recently answered a similar ask! :)
Here's the quick version of my thoughts while I recommend reading that post: I think structurally Zelda dungeons are fantastic as sort of like dungeon-like obstacle courses for players to overcome. However, you don't want to mimic every single design decision in a Zelda dungeon: the verbs players have access to are limited by necessity in Zelda games so there can only be so many solutions. In a tabletop RPG you can lean into the infinite possibility space and present open-ended scenarios with no single right solution and just let the characters throw their abilities and tools at it.
So, fewer ALttP item puzzles, more open-ended puzzles in the style of BotW and TotK.

My Little Universe Review Cons: - Cannot rebind controls. - No touchscreen support. - You can only create tiles in certain places, it's not a case of creating one anywhere. - The game teaches the very basics then it's all up to you to figure out. - Takes ages to get going. - The initial impression is it takes a long time for the game to express and tell you what it's about. - Playing with manual switching of tools and weapons is not that great especially when ambushed or you have a lot going on. - Never sure when it was saved. - Makes grinding a necessity. - Registering an enemy or resource seems to have an exact point otherwise nothing happens. - The Hud only shows three resources at one time. - Switching of weapons is so slow. - Every planet is just the same loop over and over. - Seeing a massive resource requirement fill in just one tile and the next four are the same, it's not fun. - Level up rewards start to repeat. Going have this be one of a few posts I make about Demon's Souls, Soul Series, and Other Stuff related that I wanted to make a post about. This post mainly talking about what I think was the draw of Demon's Souls for me, and what eventually made me stop caring for the soul's series.
I think the obsession of future souls games to focus more on combat was a massive misstep that fromsoft doesn't want to take back. The combat in DeS was simple, slow, and did it's job well enough for a hack n slash dungeon crawler.
Slow is said here in positive sense. To me it being slow makes it easier for me to play since I can more easily understand what's going on. As I'm getting older I feel that my taste in action games are veering away from high octane quick reflexes type deals.
The main focus of the game isn't to master the combat system, the real focus is trying to navigate and outsmart a world that is actively hostile to you. The simple combat is just one of your main tools to do so. Every level and boss had gimmicks to throw at you to see if you can figure it out.
These gimmicks are what made the game so memorable to me. I can still remember almost every boss, their name, how they fight, how to beat them. False King Allant being the only enemy in any of the souls games that can level you down will live rent free in my head. As well as his massive charge magic attack that takes up 90% of the arena. Seeing Storm King emerge from the clouds and wondering how you can fight against it. Only to come across Storm Ruler in the boss arena which you use to rend the boss out of the sky. Using the Cat's Ring in order to more easily sneak by the Old Hero. Figuring out the Adjudicator isn't the big yellow meat cleaver wielding blob, but the golden crow perched on it's head. Everything about Maiden Astraea and Garl Vinland. The Old Monk making use of the multiplayer aspect of the game to summon another player to be your boss fight. The True Final Boss being a sad mutated blob of a man that can barely fight back.
And I feel that's why I ended up becoming so disillusioned with the souls series as it went on. The more it went it, the gimmicks just went away. Getting replaced with more straight forward and faster combat. Everyone oohs and aahs as their character rolls in the mud 10 times in a row to avoid a regular enemy or boss that does 10 billion hit combos back to back. To the point that I can't even touch Dark Souls 3 without being falling into a malaise, and seeing Elden Ring finally made me realize I was left behind.

gotten through the second dungeon of the sealed palace. it's thus far a very fun romhack and i am extremely impressed by the sheer amount of work put into it and the technical aspects. the writing at least where i am now is just okay and it is very obvious when dialogue has been recycled from oot if you've played the game a few times. but like the dungeon design is thus far very good and i really love how the game makes the player use the items in ways they likely wouldn't have before unless they played rando. things like using the deku nuts to enable killing blows on armos statues are used.
something very impressive about these weirder uses of the items is that they are tutorialized fairly ok? like the deku nut on armos statue thing you're taught in a relatively safe locked in room you can't leave at all until you kill them both. and by this point you just have the nuts, sticks and your sword. so your options are kind of limited and thus, if you know how the nuts work, you are led to going "i wonder if stunning them makes them damageable". the dungeon design is falling into this area too where easier things are presented first and then harder variations latter on. i will say that, as well as this is done, it is a game that necessitates some degree of familiarity with the base game. i imagine if you haven't played oot at least a few times through the game is very hard. with things like pieces of heart that require you to have a good understanding of how to control link's jump arc and puzzles that require trickier use of bomb timing.
the game is also making use of the standard oot bosses it seems. which is understandable. i didn't really like the missing link's unique boss, but i did really love that there was a unique boss. and a unique tool too; the tool i actually liked a lot. they have tried to spruce up the bosses some with shit like putting leavers and sinking sand into king dodongo's arena but like it's still just king dodongo. you throw two bombs in his mouth and jump attack with a stick twice and you're done. again, this is understandable. but i will admit that i am very much wanting boss encounters that are as interestingly challenging as the dungeons themselves.
that aside. the sealed palace is definitely worth a look. if you want more traditional 3D zelda then this seems to fit the bill. similar to master of time it's a long hack too. so if your issue with the missing link or dusk and dawn is the length, then that's not a problem here.

legend lore: how to write compelling lore for people, places, and things
aka, why and how should you write lore?
The answer depends on your game and players. In this post, I’m going to go over the “Hack-n-Slash” model, the “Suspense/Mystery/Intrigue” model, and the “Epic” model.
But first, a quick definition: “lore” is basically just gossip and rumor, sized up by an order of magnitude. Lore typically refers to items, people, and places of legendary importance--even if they’ve faded from the public consciousness and been forgotten. It can be misused, but basically, you should always use a couple guiding principles.
The first is Rule of Cool. Your lore should be cool. Whatever that means for you and your players, lore that focuses on stodgy details isn’t lore, it’s history. Lore about an ancient queen shouldn’t be about the laws she passed, but the vampire sorceress she had an enemies-to-lovers relationship with. It’s not realistic, but it is more fun and entertaining.
The second is Keep it tied to the players’ interests. If one PC is dedicated to defeating a bloodthirsty army of demons, consider putting down a connection to the demon army in your lore about a lost city. That gives your players a personal investment already built-in when some random job board sends them to find the lost city.
Hack-n-Slash
If you and your players prefer a hack-n-slash style of gameplay, your lore might be nothing more than set dressing: think of it like the backdrop curtain on a stage play. Lore can set the tone of a dungeon, establish a monster or cursed item as really bad, and give NPCs a reputation that precedes them. Truly compelling lore might even provide hints on how to resolve a problem; for example, the lore about the dungeon’s most recent occupant being obsessed with resurrection magic might help the players figure out that they should prepare anti-undead spells before they walk into the zombie-fuelled boss battle.
For a hack-n-slash campaign, lore should be dispensed by the friendly NPCs that the players meet. I recommend it in the form of gossip or reputation. Ideally, your players are tactical-minded enough to ask questions of you that require rolls like History, Arcana, etc. that can reveal lore, but if they don’t, a helpful NPC like the local yokel asking for help with his sheep being devoured can be a supply of useful information.
I am also a big fan of using sentient weapons here, for similar reasons. A sentient weapon can tell you all about the bloodthirsty dragon who created it...after you’ve attuned to it and become cursed, of course.
Suspense/Mystery/Intrigue
In a game where the focus tends to be on solving mysteries and gleaning information, you’ll likely be less forthcoming with lore, but you’ll need it more. In this situation, lean more heavily on the gossip/rumor mill element. The current Council of Elders that runs the capital city might have several different reputations depending on who you talk to, and depending on who’s right, it could reveal an ulterior motive or secret agenda that has disastrous implications for the entire realm. Using lore as a way to set up higher-stakes conflicts later on in the campaign will draw your players in, and if you maintain secrecy and uncertainty, you can get them theorizing about what’s to come.
In this type of campaign, roleplay encounters are frequently going to be at the forefront, which means you don’t need to worry about cramming in a lot of lore in one interaction. Dispense the lore carefully instead, holding it in reserve with NPCs that would be knowledgeable on the subject like a town historian and genealogist, a retired adventurer, or an arcanist, and it should take work to discover the most controversial lore.
Epics
In an epic campaign, where the stakes are high, the items are legendary, and the legacies the PCs leave is a matter of great importance, lore is a blend scenery and clues. Lore sets up player expectations of the tone of the story and the nature of the story you’re telling together, but it also helps them piece together what lies in their future. Epic lore will be linked to Big Bads coming out of the woodwork after centuries of dormancy, holy relics that need to be restored to salvage dying religions, and so on. Lore can actually become fuel for the quest in these situations. In other words, lore is a different kind of tool in an Epic campaign because Epic campaigns are at least partially built on creating and becoming legends yourselves.
In an epic campaign, don’t make lore too easy to come by, but there’s no point in playing your cards too close to the vest, either. I recommend offering a “teaser” of lore to get your players interested at the start of a quest that will connect to that lore, with the possibility of getting more as the arc progresses.
_____________________
In essence, the role of lore in your campaign will vary! And it may even vary from one arc to the next; you’ll handle a “detect and thwart an assassination attempt” task differently from a “clear out this dungeon” task when it comes to lore.
If you feel you are over-prepping lore that your players never use...back off of it for awhile, but also check in with the lore you’re creating! Does it follow the two principles I mentioned at the start? If not, that might be the problem, and lack of engagement is a symptom. If you feel like you never know how much or little to give when a player rolls a History check or seeks a library book about a mysterious item:
rank your lore tidbits as “uncommon,” “rare,” “very rare,” and “legendary.” The higher a player must roll, or the harder they must work to gain the information, corresponds to how rare the lore is. For instance, when the party in my campaign was researching the end of a war between the gods, they got a natural 20; as a result, they found a text that was considered a fringe theory that revealed that three mortals had killed a god and ascended to godhood themselves, and that an evil god had been falsely accused of the crime. This information completely changed their understanding of this event, which in turn influenced the goals of the party. Anything lower than what they rolled, and they would likely not have uncovered this information for months.

Pokemon Quartz
I have a confession to make.
I fucking love Pokemon Quartz.
Okay, context. Pokemon Quartz is an infamous Romhack of Pokemon Ruby, finished in 2006 by a young Spanish developer going by Baro. It was possibly the first completed romhack that completely replaced the entire set of the available 386 Pokemon with a set of newly designed Fakemon, and while lots of the replacements are pretty obvious analogues, there are some pretty interesting designs and the sheer effort required to do this solo as a teenager is something to behold.
Tumblr media
(Look at Lileep, it’s a dodo now! I think its cute.)
The hack shows it age pretty well these days, with the sheer development made in GBA hacking especially in the last couple of years obviously showing it up- obviously something like Clover or Radical Red is going to make Quartz look ancient, and limitations in available tools are pretty obvious if you know where to look. The game’s region, Corna, is blatantly just Hoenn with some modified route themes, and its pretty clear that the designs for each Pokemon are limited to the replaced mon’s colour palette (as with Torido above).
Tumblr media
(The map is kinda pretty though imo)
Quartz is infamous for a few reasons ultimately linked to the developer’s youth. For one, the dialogue tends to be a mix of poor English and weird humour and plenty of cursing, along with some jokes that don’t really fly these days. (To Baro’s credit, the writing and English does get better as the hack progresses.) The plot is utterly nonsensical as a result of shoehorning the Electric themed Band Ambar as villains into vanilla Ruby’s story, and involving the very 00s teenage idea of CHAOS vs ORDER and the pseudophilosophical musings that go along with it. Also like some of the designs are extremely ugly, to be frank. Lots of people are aware of Babos, the Skitty replacement, but that’s only really scratching the surface- the Llamayama line (aka Numel) and Berchi line (Clamperl) are pretty awful if you ask me.
Tumblr media
(ew)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(…sis you are literally standing in a centre)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(hey can we take this from a 10 down to like a 6 or so)
I first encountered Pokemon Quartz as part of a bootleg multi-game cartridge picked up in my time living in Kuala Lumpur. The version of the hack on that cart was either very early or just broken, since none of the doors in Golden Island or the nearby Broke Cave (Dewford Island/Granite Cave) would actually let me in and therefore I couldn’t progress especially far. (I understand there was another broken ROM running around the internet that just had legendaries and Master Balls running around the first few routes, for some reason,). My trying to find a walkthrough or a fix led me to one Let’s Play of the hack by Zorak, which I suspect considering his association with fellow early LPer Chorocojo is the reason a fair few people are aware of Quartz at all. While I absolutely wouldn’t recommend reading that LP these days- its very late 00s, enjoys a certain R-word way too much, and to his credit Zorak has a comment on the archive stating that he considers it “immature and severely unfunny!”, but it was the only way for me to consume the remainder of the game at the time, having not figured out emulators at that point. I could go on for a long time about those early Lets Plays, but I’ll save that for another day.
(Oh also I’m ganking a bunch of the screenshots from that LP since my file is in endgame, cheers mate)
Okay but why do I like this game then? Well, aside from tickling my nostalgia bone something fierce, there’s a lot of cool things in the hack that make it stand out. While the lore behind the main legendary Pokemon is pretty bad and some of their designs are godawful, the Braille puzzles from Ruby have been converted into an entire original runic alphabet and is expanded to be present in the encounter events for Kaomare and Karendi (Kyogre and Jirachi). I had a lot of fun translating all of the script by hand, even if the actual text is a bit edgy. Speaking of Karendi, the game has a very JRPG style item chain sidequest to get to the encounter, which is pretty fun and something that to my recollection hasn’t been seen since. It has some little ideas in the dex that took Game Freak years to try, such as an evolving legendary (Ordkip->Tanord, replacing Latias and Latios) and the hack’s replacement for the Kanto starters having a 4th evolution (replacing the legendary beasts in the dex). The player is actually offered a second starter from the trio replacing the Johto starters late in the game at Muddy Island (Pacifidlog), which while a bit useless at that point is still something that took GF until X and Y to try. (Emerald doesn’t count imo)
Tumblr media
(I’d translate the Cornan, but I lost my notes. Find the key yourself, cowards)
I can’t really explain beyond that why I love Quartz so much, but it’s the type of attachment that doesn’t really make sense and can’t really be explained. With that in mind, please believe me when I say never play Pokemon Quartz.
Most of the Pokemon are reskins of the original mon without changing the stats or learnset, and some of the ones that are make zero sense (As an example, the Water starter gets Aeroblast of all things, but only if you overlevel it in the second stage). The 3rd Gym leader’s ace, an overleveled Groundoe (Sandslash), has 4 ground moves, so any Flying type beats it outright, except 2 of those moves are Earthquake and Fissure, so if you don’t have a bird you are S.O.L. . The 4thleader has an absurdly overpowered ace in the form of Freech, one of the few mons to be completely overhauled, being the Milotic equivalent except its Dragon/Ice with overpowering STAB moves and Speed Boost. Basically, the game balance is completely out of whack.
Tumblr media
Instead give a look into Pokemon Ultra Quartz (I refuse to type Let’s go Blobbos more than once). Released in 2018 by the developers for the excellent if also problematic Clover, UQ fixes just about every issue with the game’s balance, expands the encounter tables to include many of the Quartz mons that were implemented but unobtainable, and re-enables missing features such as the Battle Tower, while leaving most of the rest of the Quartz experience untouched- in this sense, I’d argue it’s the superior Quartz experience. It does still have issues- the labyrinthine route and cave design is untouched, Blobbos is here but is pretty pointless, and TM availability is as shitty as Quartz (which is the same as vanilla Ruby, but still). It does also add a few events of varying quality- Blobbos is as adorable as ever if a little pointless, the endgame developer battles are neat and decent grinding, and the postgame dungeon added is pretty sick even if the secret boss is… unique? The direct 1:1 import of the Deadly Seven from the infamous Pokemon Snakewood is both unnecessary and obnoxious, so try to keep in mind its origin when suffering through that forced segment of the game.
Tumblr media
(My final team- Dotori, Psimouse, Rubygon, Mazalon, Oceadino, Kaosune. Or, Flying/Fighting completely overhauled Cradily, Serene Grace Gardevoir, Split evolution Vibrava, Ghost/Steel Banette, Water/Flying Swampert, and Fire/Dragon Groudon.)
It’s a good game despite this, ok? Give it a shot, experience some Romhack history but not quite as shit as it was in ’06.
Wait shit I forgot to mention how Baro put his name everywh-

Don't mind me, just compiling a list of AUs and fanfics I've been thinking of here for my own sake, because I'm afraid I'll forget them under the stress of my current workload!
Steven Universe:
TrueQuartz!AU (Steven is the son of an actual Rose Quartz, namely Shy Rose)
CrystalTemps!AU (Featuring Lapis, Peridot, Bismuth, and Spinel as our main CGs - with Lapis and Peridot as a QP Fusion called Variscite - and a lot of role/mom-swaps abound)
StevenTale (Steven Universe x Undertale crossover; Steven Universe characters in the settings/plot of Undertale, basically)
Undertale:
SaveHim!Ending (You can't save Asriel, but maybe you can save Him. Even after all he did to you, he deserves it. But that requires your own work. Basically an exploration on concepts of AI, autonomy, the plot of all Undertale paths, and more)
GameOver!AUs (Basically hypothetical scenarios on what would happen when you lose to the major bosses of the game)
Pokemon:
NotAlone!AU (Mystery Dungeon continuity, and basically an AU where the main character of Super learns they aren't the only human-turned-Pokemon, drawing on the protagonists of the past games)
Glitchmon!AU (Rarer as they've become with each passing generation, and now basically impossible to access without outside hacking tools, we all remember glitch Pokemon, right? Well, in this world, they exist, alongside regular Pokemon!)
AshRed!AU (Universe where Ask Ketchum/Satoshi is the little brother of Red. Not much else too it, save the fact it probably falls under Pokemon Yellow/Let's Go Pikachu Versions)
Dragon Ball:
AlternateZ!AU (Basically a complete rewrite/divergence of Z from the beginning, starting with Goku reluctantly going with Raditz into space. Based on a weird dream I had, and I'm trying to expand it.)
Monster!AU (Aside from the humans, all aliens/creatures/gods/whatever in the series are based off of classical monsters!)
Bleach:
Hollow!AU (In which Ichigo and friends fail to save Rukia from her execution, and Aizen uses their grief and rage to his advantage. Alongside his original Arrancar, he now has some of the most powerful Hollows under his control.)
Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim:
The Divine Winds of Time (A Skyrim x Rune Factory 4 crossover. Basically a little what-if where, in the attempt to save her life, the lovely Divine Dragon Ventuswill and Frey are transported to Tamriel, where they meet the Dragonborn and Paarthurnax, Odahviing, and even Akatosh's firstborn himself.)
Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood/Manga Canon):
HomunculiKids!AU (The Homumculi return, but as kids, with amnesia and no powers. Placed under monitored care, they slowly regain their past memories, but their previous attrocities clash with their moralities and behaviours, leading to a ton of turmoil. Mostly fluffy domestic stuff, though.)
And I'll add more as my mind keeps brewing!

BTS Reaction To: You Standing Up For Yourself (Mafia!Au)
Summary: you don’t put up with shit from people who disrespect you.
Warnings: language, sexist discriminatory comments, asshole people, a funny Taehyung, NCT, and proud boyfriends.
Notes: I needed to get something posted because I’ve been lacking really badly. School, track, my job, and finals coming up next week is overtaking my life so I have had barely any time to actually sit down and write and update, so I just got only Jin’s, Namjoon’s and Yoongi’s part up. Once schools out I’ll be updating more.
Request: Anon said - bts mafia reaction to their s/o having a strong personality and knowing how to protect themselves.
******************************************************
You’re dating the most powerful Mafia boss in Asia, half of Europe and a small part of the United States. Everyone respected you because you’re smart, intelligent, and are able to take care of yourself. You’re known to be passionate and will defend for what you believe in.
But sometimes, you do have people who are rude and cruel to you, but that does not stop you.
Jin, Yoongi, and Namjoon
******************************************************
Jin:
Tumblr media
You were sat with your boyfriend, Kim Seokjin, at his desk going over a blueprint of a building that one of your rivals are stationed in. You both were going over strategies on how to attack, where to place certain members, who will come in on each side, and where every camera is.
The sound of Jin’s office door opening was what had the both of you looking up from the blueprint. Taehyung and Hoseok entered with two slightly new members of Jin’s gang. The men bowed to both you and Jin, except one in particular.
This caught Jin’s attention right away.
His friend next to him nudged him, giving a confused expression along with a slightly panicked one, mouthing ‘dude.’
“What?” His friend answered rudely, “I’m not going to bow down to a woman, she doesn’t deserve my respect.”
The comment struck a cord within you that you never knew that you had. Standing up abruptly, you pulled out your gun, cocking it before pointing it right at his feet. Firing right in front of his foot, the scared yelp sent a wave of satisfaction through you. Moving around the desk, you slowly made your way to the man, giving both Taehyung and Hoseok a nod, telling them that you got it. The two moved back a few feet along with the other, but staying near just in case the man decided to do anything.
You twirled the gun around your finger, a crazed smile on your lips. “So, just because I’m a woman, you cannot bow down to me?” You asked, pouting slightly.
He straightened up, trying to put on a cool facade, “Yes, this is a job only for men, not women. You females will only get in the way because you’re just weak Little damsels in distresses.” He sneered at you.
Your eye twitched.
Before he could even blink, you lifted your foot, kicking him where the sun doesn’t shine. While he was bent over, you grabbed his face and lifted your knee before bringing his face to your knee, earning a cry of pain from him. As you were going to do more, you felt the familiar touch of your boyfriend.
Looking up, you were met with his loving gaze that held anger but you knew it wasn’t at you - it was for the man. “Love, please calm down.” Your boyfriend said in the soothing voice he only gave to you. “Don’t let him win by getting to you.”
“He deserves to die! He deserves-“
“-I know, and he does. But right now we stay in the right mind to finish going over the plan for tomorrow’s invasion. We cannot be distracted and mess up on this. After we are done, you can go down to the cells where he’ll be and give him everything that he deserves. As of now, you need to be in the right state of mind to hack into the system and give Jimin the cue.” Jin explained softly, calming you down by caressing your cheek and running his fingers through your hair.
Nodding your head, you allowed Jin to take the gun out of your hand. You were only focused on him, not paying attention to anything else around you. Usually you were the one calming down your boyfriend, but sometimes you have your moments.
Yoongi:
Tumblr media
You were introverted like your boyfriend. Always keeping to yourself, quiet, and lazy also. You guess that’s why you both fit so well together. Although you were a lot nicer than him, you still had your moments where you could be mean if you wanted too - that was rare though since you hated confrontation and being mean.
But sometimes, you had to take on those confrontations.
You were with your boyfriend and a few of his close members (Namjoon, Jungkook, and Jimin) at a shipment. You usually don’t go to these things because you hate coming face to face with nasty people. Plus, you’d rather stay in bed watching Law&Order while eating takeout. But this time your boyfriend wanted you to come with him for some ‘moral support’ in his words.
Standing next to him, you listened to your boyfriend and the man who is exchanging whatever it is that his exchanging talk. You looked around, trying to pick out anything that was odd or unusual that Jungkook and Jimin aren’t seeing. As your eyes wandered back to the man who was talking to your boyfriend, you didn’t miss the man behind him glaring at you. Furrowing your eyebrows in confusion, you have him a confused look back.
“Yo, Yoongi, who’s she?” He called out to your boyfriend, interrupting his and the mans conversation.
“I’m Y/N,” you waved awkwardly, “Yoongis girlfriend.” For some reason this made the guy laugh.
You saw your boyfriends jaw tick, indicating that he’s pissed at the disrespect that you’re getting. “And why is that funny?” Your boyfriend question, coming up and standing in front of you to shield you from the still laughing guy.
“Because it’s funny how the most sadistic Mafia leader is dating a goody to shoes like her. I’m sorry man, but you deserve a woman and not a girl. She’ll just hold you back by her whining, annoying, weak, unqualified-“
Before he could finish, he was met with your fist. No one, not even your boyfriend, saw you move from how fast you were. Right now, all you could see is read. You couldn’t control the rage that you felt as you punched, kicked, and slapped the guy who degraded you.
“Weak?” You chuckled angrily, “look at you. You’re nothing but scum who can’t even defend their self against a ‘girl.’” You growled, punching him again, getting satisfaction from the blood that spewing from his mouth and nose. As you were pulling your arm back to land another punch on his face, you felt a hand wrap around your fist, causing you to look back to be met with your boyfriend.
His face automatically made you relax, a small smirk appearing at his face from feeling your tense body now relax all because of him. The pissed off look that was on his face was still present, but the soft, comforting look in his eyes was only evident to you. Your breathing was heavy and you had no doubt that you look like a crazed woman from your hair being all over the place and the sweat on your forehead.
“Kitten, take a deep breath.” Your boyfriend instructed sternly. Doing as he said, you breathed in deep before releasing the air, feeling slightly better. “Good girl.” He praised, making you smile in glee from his small praise. “Now, I know what he said pissed you off, but I need you to calm down so you don’t kill the man.” You were going to protest before Yoongi cut you off. “You’ll be able to finish where you left off once he gets back to consciousness.” Your boyfriend smirked, silently telling you that you could take him to the dungeons and use the special tools that he has that are made for torture.
“Wait, consciousness?” You asked confusedly before turning around to find an unconscious, beaten to the pulp man laying on the ground with blood spewing from their mouth and nose. “Oh... oops?”
The laugh that came from your boyfriend had you blushing, “That’s my girl.”
Namjoon:
Tumblr media
You and your boyfriend, Kim Namjoon, are nerds. You both have the passion for reading, discovering new theories on why the world came to be, and anything that has to deal with school. Now, that may sound weird because why would a human being love school? Both of your answers would be, to learn new things. To know why something is the way that it is. To know why you have to go through all of these obstacles to get from A to B.
It’s nerdy, and that’s how you and Namjoon clicked.
Your close friends always make fun of you and Namjoon by calling you ‘nerds’ or ‘Einstein 1 and 2’. You both love it.
But not everyone thinks the same thing. You see, Namjoon is one of the smartest and intelligent Mafia leaders. You, being his girlfriend, get a lot of hate and discrimination because of a lot of the other mafia leaders think that this job is only made for guys and women do not know how to run a gang.
Of course, you laugh at this because you know for a fact that you’re smarter than them. Especially by being one of the 12 people to score perfectly on the CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test). Plus, you’re skilled with being able to take someone out physically if needed to be. You’re confident in yourself, you don’t allow people to push you over the edge or get under your skin, but you also have your breaking points like every human does.
Today would be an example.
You were at a meeting with your boyfriend and his gang that involved teaming up with an ally, NCT, to take down a gang that is causing chaos for both your boyfriends gang and NCT’s gang.
You sat quietly beside your boyfriend, allowing him to discus matters with the gang leader, Taeyong. You were fond of him and his gang because they were pleasant to be around and they also like peace and not war. Plus, they reminded you slightly of your boyfriends gang. You talked with Yuta and he mentioned that they just got a new member, Do-Hun. You could point him out by how loud and cocky he was, something that the members of NCT that you knew were not.
Your boyfriend and Taeyong called break, thankfully, making you sigh in relief since you needed to pee. As you made your way to the bathroom, you ran into Do-Hun.
“Excuse me,” you politely said, stepping aside so he could pass by.
“Are you Namjoons bitch?” Do-Hun asked, taking you aback by the vulgar name he referred you to as.
“Pardon?” You asked surprised.
“Are you Namjoons bitch? Because he doesn’t deserve you, you’ll just hold him back from his ability of being as powerful as he could ever be. You women are nothing but people us men come home to to find the house clean, food on the table, and for the bed to be warm at night and to protect since you can’t defend theirselves. Women are not supposed to be the leaders, you’re the followers.”
At that, you punched him in the mouth. Before he could retaliate, you kicked behind his knee to get him to the ground and then brought his face to your knee. The loud groan he gave had your boyfriend and his gang, with their guns drawn, and Taeyongs gang and their guns drawn too, into the hall where you and Do-Hun were. Grabbing a fistful of his hair, you pulled it back to where he was staring up at you.
“Y/N-“
You turned to look at Namjoon, putting up your hand as a way of saying ‘I got this’. Looking back at the excuse of a man, you smirked. “Who’s above you now?” You questioned innocently, “me. You see, men like you don’t deserve to live, or even be apart of a gang that’s as great as they are. You only bring them back by being disrespectful, pieces of sexist cocky shit, who think they’re better than everyone. You’re weak, you let a woman kick your sorry weak ass. We can’t protect ourselves? I could kill you right now with ease, but you know what? That would be a waste of my time and I don’t like wasting my time on pieces of shit as you.” You pouted before punching him in the jaw where it knocks him out.
Standing up, you straightened out your clothes before turning around to be met with your proud boyfriend and a shock Taeyong.
“See,” Taehyung stated, “this is why noona is awesome.”
