"I was a very insecure young boy, probably because I was a bit sheltered.
I was born in Zanzibar, which was part of the commonwealth then.
My father was working for the government as a civil servant at the time. My uncle had a villa in Dar-Es-Salem only yards from the sea, and in the morning I’d be woken by the servant. Clutching an orange juice, I’d literally step out on to the beach. In a way I’ve been very fortunate, even in the early days. I love being pampered, it’s just something that’s grown with me. I was also a precocious child, but my parents were very strict.
I wasn’t spoilt though. They thought boarding school would do me good. So, when I was about seven, I was put in one in India for a while. That background helped me a lot, because it taught me to fend for myself from a very early age, and to be responsible.
It was an upheaval of an upbringing, which seems to have worked, I guess.

❤️Early 1960s Snoopy Appreciation Post❤️
Don’t get me wrong Snoopy design now is iconic and all, but sometimes I low-key wish he still had his early 60s design always like
He is just SO SKRUNGLY 💗💗
Like the later design with the way rounder head/snout just doesn't hit the same for me sorry lol

Brian jones x Fem!reader
(Y/n/n means your nickname)
Cold Winter Storm
You had been living in Edith Grove with Keith, Brian, and Mick for a few months now. They all enjoyed having you around as you helped them clean up quite a bit. And in return they gave you a place to live.
However, what you had not anticipated was a winter as cold as this. The snow had been piling up for weeks and the temperatures were only getting lower. And you all tried everything to find warmth during the night.
You all had your own mattresses to sleep on along with every blanket in the house divided equally among the four of you. Yet you were still cold. You tried everything to get warm but you just couldn't for some reason. You checked the clock and it was nearing 12 in the morning. So you sighed and got out of bed to go make some hot chocolate to hopefully warm you up.
You silently walked over to the kitchen, grabbed a pot and started heating up the stove. Then you grabbed the milk but before you could pour some of it in you were interrupted.
"What are you making so late at night?" A drowsy voice asked you
You turned around and were greeted by a very sleepy Brian.
"Oh sorry I woke you up, I can't sleep because of how cold it is. I figured if I made hot chocolate it might help me stay warm enough to get some sleep." You explained.
"No you didn't wake me, I'm far too cold to sleep also." He rubbed his eyes and yawned before he continued. "Why don't you just come lay down with me. It will probably be warmer if we just slept in the same bed together. If you don't want to I understand but it's just an idea.
You thought about it for a second. "Are you sure you would be ok with that?" You asked.
"Yeah, I don't mind and I'm pretty sure it will help." He said before yawning again
"Ok." You turned off the stove and put the milk away
He smiled at you and you both walked over to his bed, stopping at yours to grab the extra blankets which you set down onto his. He climbed under the pile of blankets then held them up so you could get in too.
"Do you want me to face away from you?" You asked slightly nervous to do the wrong thing and possibly upset him. You really liked Brian and would hate to do something like that to him.
"I don't mind if we are closer or completely apart really." He yawned, clearly trying to stay awake at this point.
Making a quick decision you snuggled up next to Brian catching him by surprise. But his shock quickly changed into comfort because of how much warmer it was with you in his arms.
"Goodnight, y/n/n" He muttered. "Sleep well."
"Goodnight Bri, sleep well too." You said lightly.
He gently rested his head on top of yours and hummed deeply, making you smile into his chest. You snuggled deeper into him before finally falling asleep. Warm at last.

Vintage photos pt 1
My grandfather passed away back in October (I'm fine. We werent close. He was kind of a schmuck) instead of a memorial service, my family decided to have pizza at my grandma's house and look at old photos. In my 26 years of life, i have never seen photos my grandparents when they were young.
I've always loved vintage photos. Its like a peek at the history of every-day life. That idea fascinates me. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Here are some cool photos if anyones interested in looking. I did increase the sharpness of the photos to make them less blurry. (Its ok to reblog, idc)
The World's Fair, NYC 1964
Disney Land? Disney World? Idk. But hey, theres Mickey w/ Grandma.
When my grandfather bought this car, my grandma's first thought was, 'Well, we're not gonna be moving into a house this year." That was their original plan. At the time, they were living in a trailer. Beautiful car, though.
