a/n: cant believe bakugo is 24 now lol
you've seen him around for the past few weeks now. every weekend at your local laundry shop, doing laundry like any normal person would
black tank top and ripped jeans. his usual go-to outfit when you see him. it should be a crime how his biceps would involuntarily flex when he picks up his laundry basket from the floor
he meets your eye for the first time and he smiles for a brief second. you could only muster a small wave at the sudden interaction but yet the way he smiled managed to pierce your heart like you were a teenager all over again
who is this man?
a week passes and you see him again at his usual spot in the laundromat, washing machine number 17. he is wearing the exact same thing the last time you saw him. you're starting to think that was his laundry uniform
the hot hunk looks up from his laundry and meets your eye again. this time he flashes a wink as his form of greeting
he laughs and you hear it loud and clear when you busied yourself into your own load of laundry, hiding your now blushing face from the hot hunk behind you
this was your second interaction since and you're starting to think it would be the perfect time to introduce yourself
you take a deep breath and muster all your courage to turn around and face the stranger. ready to introduce yourself and ask for his number
when you turn around, his back was facing you. perfect, he won't notice you coming near him.
you slowly make your way to the other side of the laundromat. the closer you got to him, the more your heart beats louder and louder against your chest
"excuse me.." you say, fiddling with your fingers when you finally reach him. the hot hunk doesn't say anything and continues to do his laundry.
weird, did he not hear me?
"uh, excuse me" you repeat, this time a little louder. still, he didn't budge. you then notice that he had his earphones on.
how embarrassing
you are about to take your leave when hottie mcdreamy suddenly turns around and takes a bud out of his ear
"did you say something?" he asks, leaning down a bit to hear you better
you open your mouth to say something but nothing comes out. you must've looked like a fish out of water just looking at him with eyes wide, mouth agape
the stranger waits patiently as you calm yourself. he gets rid of his earphones and tucks them inside the front pocket of his jeans
"i'm baku-"
"here's my number!" you blurt out, cutting him off by accident
a moment of silence passes by. only the sound of whirrs and burrs from the washing machines evident in the room
"sorry?" the stranger stifles in his laughter when it finally registers to you on what you just said
"oh my god" you breathe out, a hand flying to your mouth when you realized you just fucked yourself over. it's over y'all. you just lost your chances into bagging this hot mess in front of you
"i'll take it, don't worry. but you gotta tell me your name first" the hot stranger laughs heartily. it honestly sounded like music to your ears and you were not complaining
"i'm bakugo. you?" he holds his hand out for you to shake. to which you do, obviously
"y/n.."
"well y/n, if you don't mind me asking, can i have your number too?" bakugo flashes you his signature smile. the same smile he gave you the first time you two made eye contact
you didn't just score his number that day but maybe a date too

Yandere!Ayano X Lazy!S/O HCs
Tumblr media
◊ Well, this was quite a surprise to Ayano when he realized how you did not even bother the kidnapping, only slept your way through the whole thing and kissed his forehead, thanking him for helping you escape your life and sleep all day. He was flattered and happy about it, but still surprised nonetheless.
◊ It took him a while to get used to it, he would honestly continuously in worry check your pulse and breathing to see if you're alive and well and sound, makes sure you're okay, thank god you are...It scares him and he gets spooked like a mama gets when her newborn sleeping for longer than usual...
◊ He is extremely concerned for you, so he makes sure EVERYTHING IS ABSOLUTELY OKAY! After he gets used to it, he takes his chances to smother you with his affection, kisses, hugs, snuggles, cuddles, anything that he wants, he'll give it to you with a bright smile.
◊ He has Xinyue cometimes check your head and memories to see if any of it is trauma related and how you think about him, if it's all okay, he's so relieved but still incredibly confused...don't you want to return home? Not that he's complaining, he loves that you're willing to be his little trophy doll.
◊ Sometimes he chases off his siblings when they try to see how deep you sleep by pulling pranks on you,he refuses to let them even do stupid shit near you, though he lets those siblings in who need to de-stress from the family shenanigans for self-care (Oshinyu, Oshinuza, Ilseong, Hyejun), he'll even let them apply skincare to you as long as you're not waking up, he wants you to be all freshen up even if you're asleep with drool out your mouth.
◊ Speaking of drool, he has those super absorbent and silk pillow covers for you, so drool dries easily and your hair is also not ruined..he's particular about things, okay?? He's a nepo baby! Leave him alone, by the end of a week you're becoming a nepo baby too, because you're basically family since you're so quiet.
◊ Ayano doesn't allow anyone in your room, fearing your sleep would be ruined, except his parents and some quiet siblings, so his parents sit there for hours. Both Kaiyo and Reo sit in your room with you to do their paperwork and other stuff otherwise they'll be constantly interrupted by servants, pets, the kids..
◊ Constant sleepwear shopping, he has SO MANY SLEEPWEARS FOR YOU!! Listen, poor boy never had a relationship and you're his first one and his parents always spoil each other, he thinks it's a sign of love and he loves you...Poor thing has no idea what else to do, because you're asleep half the time.
◊ He spends so much time snuggling you, de-stressing beside you, watching movies with earphones, doing homework or anything else where he wants quiet. He has a personal pool in his bedroom's large balcony, so he also spends time there, while watching you with lovesick eyes as you slept with drool, eye-crust or boogers, hair messed up and looking like a demon...Oh so gorgeous.
◊ Let's be honest, he even has specially made mattress, blankets, pillows, pillow covers, bedsheets and other stuff...all for you..all custom made, all for you to sleep, drool and fart in anyways...Yeah, pretty sweet, I know.

Mira Kim with Yor Forger reader
Dengue fever's gone now.
Tumblr media
• You guys met through her friends. She noticed how aloof and shy you are when interacting with others and assumed that you felt uncomfortable, so she always makes sure to talk to you in a calm way unlike Zoe, who constantly talks and changes topics that you aren't familiar of or too slow catching up on.
• During lunchtime in the cafeteria, they're just talking about about homework, guys they have a crush on, social media shit. Until they brought up the subject of appearances...
Millie: "Thank god lunchtime started before that creepy teacher said something. He gave me weird stares this morning."
Sharon: "That's because you insisted on wearing that short skirt."
Millie: "I can't help it! If it makes my boyfriend happy!"
Zoe: "Ooh, so your boyfriend is into those kind of things~"
Mira: "Girls, stop that. We're in front of the table! People are trying to eat here."
Camilla: "Calm down, Mira. We're just talking about what we like to wear. Besides, style is important for attending the Fashion Department. Oh, that reminds me... What kind of style are you into, Yor?"
Yor: "Huh? Umm, not much. But I guess proper long-skirt dresses with darker colors?"
Zoe: "Whaaat? Are you like, into goth-like style? That's unexpected of you, Yor~"
Millie: "Zoe's right! You should show off your legs more."
Mira: "Millie! Zoe!"
Sharon: "That's pretty inappropriate, don't you think?"
Camilla: "That's okay. I mean, Yor certainly doesn't care about appearances. That's incredibly bold of her. Leave her on that topic, it's her choice."
Millie: "Shame~ She has a nice face and body, yet she she's not proud of it."
Zoe: "Yeah! I'm sure that guys will like her more if she--"
Mira: "You guys stop! You're making her uncomfortable..."
Yor: "No. It's alright, Miss Kim, I'm fine..."
• After lunchtime, you immediately make a beeline straight to your classroom but Mira stops you before she enters her classroom...
Mira: "Hey... I'm sorry the girls are this way. I already told them off that it's a bad impression on you since you are a transferee. I'm so sorry! I hope you'll give them another chance?"
Yor: "O-Oh!... Of course, Miss Kim."
Mira: "Call me Mira. Good luck in your department!"
Yor: "Of course, Mira. I'll do my best!"
• You two became friends fast. She introduced you to Zack but he's more annoyed than pleased since you've been stealing Mira's attention away from him. Mira took notice of Zack's hostility towards you and scolded him. She decided to plan a hang out for the three of you at a café near the school. Unfortunately, one of Zack's enemies overheard the conversation.
• You've never been in a trendy café before, or any type of restaurant in Seoul. Only preferring to shop and make food in your house. You three managed to reserve a table. As you sat down next to Mira, she began noticing how fidgety you are and searched inside her bag if she brought earphones for you to listen to and ignore the packed establishment.
Mira: "Hmmm... let's see if I brought earphones..."
Yor: "O-Oh! It's alright, Miss Kim-- I mean, Mira... um, look! Zack's coming here--"
• As soon as you see Zack coming with a tray of food and drinks, a hooded stranger with a face mask bumped into him--
Zack: "HEY, WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING ASSHOLE! YOU ALMOST SPILLED MY DRINKS!"
???: "Fuck you, man."
Zack: "WHY YOU LITTLE PIECE OF--"
• Zack was about to throw the first punch when he remembered his promise to Mira. So he restrained himself and returned to your table. Mira was too distracted because she was looking up her music playlist on her phone while talking to you. You, on the other hand, witnessed everything.
Zack: "Alright, food's here."
Mira: "Yay! Thanks, Zack. Let's dig in, Yor."
Yor: "W-W-WAIT!"
• You interrupted before Zack takes a sip from his coffee. You try to find an excuse as Zack gives you an impatient stare.
Yor: "We... must pray first!"
Zack: "...Are you serious--"
Mira: "You're right, let's pray!"
Zack: "Okay."
• While they close their eyes and kept praying, you quickly snatched Zack's coffee and replace it with yours. You placed his coffee near you. That hooded stranger spiked his coffee when he bumped into Zack and he didn't notice--
Mira: "Amen."
Zack: "Amen."
Yor: "A-amen."
• You made an excuse of going to the bathroom while hiding the spiked coffee behind you. You poured the drink into the toilet bowl and flushed the evidence. You made sure to kill the stranger later-- NO! no, control your bloodlust! Your friends are here for goodness sake! You came back to the table and continued eating.
• The afternoon went without a hitch. Just a feeling that someone is watching you. So when Mira offered you to stroll through the park (much to Zack's dismay), you politely declined, making up an excuse of going home early for an errand (much to Zack's delight). You bowed to them goodbye at the café's exit.
• You see the hooded stranger started to follow the couple and immediately dragged him into the alleyway.
???: "HEY! WHAT THE HELL'S YOUR PROBLEM?!"
Yor: "I'm sorry but I mustn't let you leave..."
???: "GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME BITCH-- ACK!!!
YOR JABS THEIR NECK
• The stranger fell unconscious to the ground. You search the strangers pockets and found a packet of pills. From the looks of it, emetics. You waited until it became dark, dragged the body to a nearby police station and left a note.
• Soon, news reached the school that a student is arrested for possession of illegal drugs. Zack was surprised that the arrested student is actually one of his enemies and he loudly express his gladness that he won't be seeing the retard's face for a while. Mira smacked him on the head for that.

Maliksi softly hums a tune that's been playing on his earphones as he started watering the potted chrysanthemums in front of his shop. It's been 3 months since he inherited the family's flower shop business because his Kuya Makisig wanted to pursue his career as a pilot instead. He didn't mind as he's more than happy to work at his own pace and without someone to boss him around.
He wouldn't admit it to others, but despite him being snarky and sarcastic most of the time, he's actually a gentle guy who loved peace and quiet- the only thing the plants and flowers on his shop absolutely gives everyday.
Maliksi was almost done watering the flowers when he remembered that he had some gypsophila delivered earlier. He smiled as he unloaded the pots and placed it gently in a sunny spot near the windows.
Gypsophila-
How nostalgic.
He can still remember how he begged his Kuya Makisig to teach him how to make flower arrangements- they both practiced using the shop's prettiest flowers- except their parents made him pay out of his allowance but he's already spent half of it on the local arcade earlier that week. In the end, their parents refused to let him keep the bouquet they made.
Maliksi sulked so much that his Kuya Makisig ended up sneaking him a gypsophila bouquet to school the next day- their parents never found out since gypsophila is usually just used as fillers on floral arrangements and it's quite cheap, yet his Kuya Makisig just knew how to make it look like it's one of the more expensive types of bouquet.
He can still remember how happy you looked and how red your face was when he handed you flowers on the last Valentine's Day of your highschool journey. You were the top of your class and Maliksi always hated how he always came second. All your highschool years were you two trying to see who will one up one another be it academics or extracurricular activities.
You were his rival- until you're not.
During your third year, you both were chosen to play as the famous Romeo and Juliet. All the late after school practice, the pancit canton chilimansi fueled all-nighters, and the endless phone calls with one another to have the perfect play also ended up with you two getting closer- not that you'll have it any other way.
After graduating, your family had to move back to the province due to your father's work. Maliksi ended up losing contact with you after a few months and that's it. Such fleeting first love.
He can only softly chuckle to himself as he reminisced those good old days.
"Excuse me...What are those called?"
Maliksi's attention snapped back to reality and at the short highschool boy who is now standing inside the shop, pointing at the flowers he's currently holding.
"Uhh.. these? Gypsophila."
The boy nervously looked around the shop once again, twiddling his thumbs before speaking.
"M...my Ate has a bouquet of that kind and she's got it preserved for a very long time...but I destroyed it accidentally when I was playing with my soccer ball in her room."
That's so cute and sweet.
Maliksi smiled, "I can recreate the bouquet for you. Do you remember what other flowers is in there?"
The boy shook his head before pointing at the flowers in Maliksi's hand "Nothing else. Just that." The boy started fumbling along his pockets before finding three crumpled 100 peso bills and some change. "I saved this from my allowance. Do you think you can do it with this?"
It was clearly not enough but Maliksi didn't mind since he also used to be a highschool student who relied on weekly allowance for stuff he wanted to buy. "Of course, buddy. Let me get your sister's bouquet started."
Maliksi prepared some cotton paper and pastel pink cellophane and started to masterfully arrange the flowers- making a very pretty bouquet that anyone is bound to swoon over. It is a skill he's developed while growing up and occasionally helping hie parents at the shop during holidays. Once he's done, the boy stared at the bouquet in awe, eyes twinkling in admiration.
"It's so pretty! Prettier than the one I accidentally destroyed."
Maliksi smirked at the kid before softly chuckling. "What? I don't think I ever made an ugly bouquet my whole life."
"I...How much do I need to add if I'll have it delivered at my Ate's work? I have a soccer game in 10 minutes."
"You know what, I'll make it free delivery if you promise me you'll win your soccer game, deal?"
"Deal!"
"My ate works at the bank. She'll be out at 5:30pm. If you see some woman with curly hair, around your age and is wearing a cute dress- that's her. Thank you so much!"
The boy left right away for his soccer game, leaving Maliksi with the bouquet. He then started closing the flower shop before grabbing his black hoodie and wearing it above his plain white shirt paired with his grey sweatpants- he's not really up to dress up right now since it'll be too much work when he'll just be delivering a bouquet to some stranger.
Three minutes before 5:30 - Maliksi was already outside the said workplace, leaning on his motorcycle with the bouquet in one hand, waiting for the boy's sister.
Tumblr media
You glance at the huge wall clock, waiting for it to struck 5:30 so you can get out of this place already. Your youngest brother has a soccer game going on right now, yet you've been ignoring him for a whole week now after he sneaked into your room and accidentally broke some stuff.
Maybe I should buy him something and him on his game? But he might get embarrassed since he's at that angsty teenager pace...
You walked out of your work, eyes on the ground as you deliberately think if you should sneak on your brother's game to watch him-
"Excuse me, I believe this is for you- Y/n?!"
You quickly looked up to where the voice came from and hurriedly ran towards him with an embrace. "Maliksi!" He made sure to catch you in his arms while you both giggle like two kids as he spins you around before setting you down.
"Ah, it's been so long! I missed you!" You softly giggled before gently ruffling his hair like you used to do to him back in highschool.
Maliksi smiled, not bothering to hide the slight blush that has been forming in his cheeks while still holding you. "I missed you too. I never thought I'll see you here again. You told me yor family will be staying at the province for good."
"We're supposed to. But my brother wants to attend an engineering program for college so, here we are. Our parents stayed at the province though."
"Wait...your brother-"
"Jake, That chubby little kid who used to crawl all over our highschool projects!"
Maliksi's eyes widen in realization that the shy and goofy kid he was talking to earlier was the kid that often bothered him and Y/n's study time back in highschool.
"He's grown! I've met him earlier. He wants me to give you this, because apparently, you were mad that he accidentally ruined the original one."
You can feel your cheeks heating up as if you were caught red-handed to be cherishing that one bouquet you received from Maliksi back in high school very dearly that you went out of your way to preserve it after all these years.
Maliksi burst out chuckling at your flustered face, finding it as adorable as ever. "You could've just tried to look for me when you got back. I would've made you a bouquet for each Valentine's Day we missed since high school."

some random adrian chase head cannons :P
Tumblr media
a/n: just some random thought about my favorite crime-fighting goofball :)
cw: fluff, some cussing, a few depictions of violence
Tumblr media
miscellaneous hcs
• okay so first off, i know this isn't really a head cannon but james gunn confirmed that the visor in vig's suit is prescription and idk i just love that fact
• anyway, real head cannons now
• i'm like 99.99% sure he has a playlist for when he's on patrol and makes chris listen to it with him
• also, i think he'd have the same wired earphones from like 2014 that came with his iphone 6
• adrian's favorite candy is probably skittles or m&ms because of the fun colors (sometimes he likes to sort them if he's feeling a bit bored)
• i just know he has a collection of vhs tapes that he bought from a secondhand store/had as a kid
• speaking of collections he probably also has a bunch of cd's
• i dunno why but i feel like adrian loves star wars and has since he was little (and also has all the og trilogy movies on vhs)
• definitely has a cheap walmart lightsaber lying around somewhere
• GOLDEN RETRIEVER ENERGY !!!
• i feel like as a kid he loved finding bugs, digging for worms, ect.
• one time he tried eating one, didn't turn out good for him (he couldn't stop throwing up for like 3 days)
• since it's cannon he played/plays dnd, he'd probably play magic, the gathering as well 😭
• i also think that he'd really love the artificial grape flavor ??
• LMAO i think he'd have a little chainsaw keychain lying around somewhere
• def listens to abba, spice girls, and yung gravy
• probably good with kids? he'd set the the house on fire if he watched some but he can keep them entertained at least ?
• manchild (i will not elaborate)
• he reminds me of jake peralta from brooklyn-99
being best friends/in a relationship with adrian
• let's face it, they're practically the same thing
• i justttt know that he made like 10 secret handshakes for the two of you
• his love language is probably words of affirmation, quality time, or touch (maybe all of them, who knows)
• wants to teach you how to play mtg and dnd !!! (please let him teach you he'll be over the moon)
• def has a playlist that he wants to listen to with you
• two words: movie dates
• adrian loves watching movies with you !! even if he's seen it a few dozen times, he'd watch it again just to see your first time reactions :)
• THEMED COSTUMES !!!
• if you're down, he'd want to match with you ever year, something different and cooler than the last
• if you wear glasses, you better bet your ass that he's switching with you 24/7
• you cant go an hour without your glasses getting taken off and replaced with his
• also, i think that adrian wouldn't have the cleanest glasses 😭 you def gotta give 'em a good scrub every now and then
• dr. pepper enthusiast fs
• discounted/sometimes free food and fennel fields
• if you can work from home and go there often just to eat and work, he's definitely spending his 15 minute breaks (and longer than that) sitting with you and chatting
• he's always bringing home leftovers or breadsticks that he stole
• i think adrian has a pretty decent comic collection, and would go to shops with you for dates or hangouts
• he's probably super good friends with the owner (or at least that's what he thinks)
• when he's patrolling, he randomly facetimes you???
• like he has a guy near death and he's having a full conversation with you
• adrian has tonsss of silly and random nicknames for you !! he just calls you whatever you remind him of
• whenever he goes over to your place or vice versa, you two have a special knock that lets either of you know immediately who it is
• one of his ideal dates would probably be going to the park and feeding ducks !! (and him trying to catch them)
• he also randomly makes machine gun noises ?? what's that about ??
• the two of you'll just be chilling watching tv or something and then you hear 'CHCHCHCHC' and see him doing finger guns or whatever
• and when you ask him about it he's just like "what do you mean babe?"
• would probably beg you to get a little cat or a dog
• if you initially say no, he's gonna pull out a whole powerpoint presentation on why you should say yes (and he's wearing his fanciest clothes)
• FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS !!!
• it doesn't matter where or what they look like, if he sees some at the gas station, store, theme park, wherever, he's buying some for the two of you
• your relationship is basically that one scene in bobs burgers scene where tina makes a friendship bracelet for louise and tina's like "oh you don't have to wear it" and louise snatches it and says "no i'm gonna wear it forever, back off"
• proud malewife
• adrian is in the kitchen a lot, always fixing up snacks for you
Tumblr media
a/n: let me know if i should make another one of these with another character !

My turn to ask you some questions :)
3,5,7,8,15,17,18,23,24,26,31,35,42 and 43
3. Yes I like pasta!
5. Yeah kinda yeah 😅
7. No, sadly I never learnt :(
8. Yes, I have had plenty of water. My throat gets extra parched in rainy weather for some reason.
15. Weirdest thing that happened to me? I can't think of anything immediately. I have made a lot of situations weird because of my behaviour but that's not the question. I'll come back to it if I can think of something.
17. There is this cartoon show called 'Krish, Trish and Baltiboy' that aired on weekends only. These three characters were a cat, a monkey and a donkey who narrated folk stories through different folk styles of visual art. It was my absolute favourite show.
18. No, video games look cool but I don't have any :(
23. silly, nervous, caring, confused, smol
24. In the past few years I have learned that I have developed this pattern of working only under extreme pressure which is really bad. And it gets worse now that I am aware of it and still don't act upon it. So now I am like calm and keep thinking "why am I not getting stressed? I should be getting stressed. I need to get work done." But nothing works.
26. Yes, I do. It's a vast vast universe. We can't be the only living beings here.
31. No, thankfully I have never been bit by a dog or any animal for that matter.
35. I am good with literature and creative writing to some extent.
42. Earphones
43. I remember a lot from my childhood. My mother is a teacher. At the time I was born, she was employed in a school that was in a different city than the one we live in so my mother and I (and a roommate whom I developed a close affinity with) used to live as paying guests near that school. I remember how that flat used to look like. I remember the shop there from which we purchased a hippo soap case that I still use and the ankle length hair of a girl in that shop who was probably the shop owner's daughter. I remember the tiny ditch that my aunty (the roommate mentioned before) helped me skip on the way to school and how she would give me a flower for it saying that I was brave like a knight for crossing that large ditch. I remember we were going on a vacation around my 4th birthday. We were in a train at 12 am on my birthday so we were gonna cut the cake there, but my father ordered a 2kg cake instead of a 2-pound cake so we shared that cake with a lot of people in our train compartment. I also remember the same nightmare I used to have in that flat and how I never had it again when we moved to our current house when I was 6. I could go on and on but lets stop here cause it's getting unnecessarily long so sorry for that > <
Thank you for sending the asks, I loveee answering them <333

'Come on, you two, walk faster!'
Walking ahead of them excitedly, I tried not to bump into other people passing by. I didn’t want to waste a single second of my vacation, it was my first time visiting Shibuya!
I felt a tug in my collar, followed by my friend’s voice in an annoyed tone: 'Can’t you wait for us? Shibuya is not going to just disappear!' I finally decided to slow down, removing my earphones and now walking between my friend Mizuki and her older brother Takeshi.
'Why did you even want to come here? It’s always so crowded, there are better places to visit in Tokyo.'
'I already visited some other places in Tokyo last week, and Shibuya was next on my bucket list.'
Takeshi sighed, 'I hope you have a good time here, at least. I wish I could go to a completely different country now. Oh, but I know of a good shopping mall near the station, we could go there first.'
While heading to said shopping mall, we all heard some fireworks in the distance. I turned my head around, only to be splashed by a wave of lemonade – a minor accident caused after Mizuki got jumpscared by the fireworks.
'Oh, my god! I’m so sorry!' She said while patting my clothes in a poor attempt to prevent them from staining. 'Don’t worry about this, really. At least it wasn’t a hot drink.' I reassured her.
'There are restrooms near the station,' Takeshi said, pointing to where we were coming from. I followed his directions, asking them to wait for me outside.
Inside the restroom, I removed my jacket and placed it beside the sink. I tried using paper towels to remove the excess liquid from my clothes, but I couldn’t get rid of the yellowish stain on the hem of my shirt and my jeans. 'Aw man, I don’t want to go back just to change my clothes. Well, I think if I use my jacket, no one should be able to notice it…'
Tying my jacket around my waist, I heard loud banging coming from outside and all the lights suddenly went out. Going out and looking around in confusion, I tried searching for my friends only to be met with no one – streets previously filled to the brim with people walking in all directions were now completely empty.
Worried, I ran out shouting for Mizuki and Takeshi, but the whole area near Shibuya station was dead silent. I thought of heading back to the parking garage we had parked our car, hoping to find them soon.
Stopping at the entrance and staring into the darkness inside the garage, I called in; 'Hello? Anyone?'. No answer, only my own voice echoing inside. Walking in and carefully making my way upstairs, I noticed a weird set of lights coming from a few floors above, which did not seem to be coming from any cars.
On a pillar near the metal stairs, there was a small television showing a white screen with a black arrow pointing to the left, one of the many floors available for parking cars. Peeking inside the suspiciously empty lot, I noticed three people standing around a white round table, with a huge grid pattern painted on the ground near them.
I walked up to them in silence, having a bad feeling about this place. Before I could ask anything, I heard footsteps coming from behind me, a man that seemed to be in his late thirties walked past me and grabbed a phone from the table. All the others also had phones in their hands, so I picked up the last phone available, noticing a piece of paper that said 'One per person'. The screen turned on with the text 'FACIAL RECOGNITION IN PROGRESS. PLEASE WAIT A MOMENT.' showing up.
After 'loading', I was now looking at the phone’s home screen: two apps at the top, titled 'Game' and 'VISA', and other nameless apps at the bottom. Before I could try to open any of them, the screen suddenly turned white with a new text, along with a feminine voice that seemed to come from speakers inside the lot, though I couldn’t see any.
REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED
THE GAME WILL NOW COMMENCE
[GAME]
MINESWEEPER
DIFFICULTY
SEVEN OF DIAMONDS
'Game? Did I just enter someplace I was not supposed to? Also, isn’t seven of diamonds a playing card? As far as I remember, minesweeper wasn’t a card game.' I thought to myself. The screen changed again, and the voice continued:
[RULES]
Players must walk through the board without setting off any mines.
Players have a one-minute time limit to decide which cell to step on.
Standing on a safe cell will show up the number of mines directly around that cell.
Standing on a mined cell will cause the land mine to explode.
Players can only move up to three cells forward in a straight line and are not allowed to move backward.
[CLEAR CONDITION]
Reach the end of the board within the time limit.
[GAME START]
'So, a game of minesweeper but played in real life? Doesn’t sound too bad.' I had played minesweeper a few times in the past, but I was far from being a strategist and only ever played the beginner levels.
My phone screen had changed again, now showing a grid that looked like the one painted on the floor of the parking lot. The number 20 was directly above the grid, and a countdown had started at the bottom of the screen. Ten seconds had passed since the feminine voice last spoke.
'Could there be any mines in the first row? I mean, that would be pretty unfair, even for a seven of diamonds game' the lady beside me spoke, seemingly not directed at anyone in particular. Walking forward, she was now standing on a square inside the grid. Other players did the same, each choosing a square to be on. I was the last one to move, so I walked up to the only square left, the one right in the middle.
I looked at the woman beside me, who had spoken up earlier, as she watched the countdown on her phone. The squares were pretty big, so I moved near the edge of mine to whisper to her: 'Hey, excuse me, uhm…' She didn’t look up from her phone, 'A while ago you said this is a ‘seven of diamonds’ game, could you explain to me what that means? Are there other games with titles like that?'
The lady finally looked up at me, grimacing, eyeing me from head to toe before turning her attention back to the countdown, the only sound coming from her being an annoyed scoff. Embarrassed, I simply moved back to the center of my square, looking down at my phone.
When the countdown reached zero, a 'ding' sound echoed through the lot, and the grid on the phone screen now showed five numbers corresponding to our positions on the board. From left to right, it said 1 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 1, and the countdown was back at a one-minute mark.
'So, these numbers mean how many mines are around our cells, just like in a normal minesweeper game, right? Mine is the only one touching two mined cells…'
Before I could finish my thoughts, a guy standing on the far left side of the grid walked one square forward, looking very confident in his decision. The man directly to my right walked two squares forward, meaning he believed the cell now right behind him contained a mine. Immediately after him, the lady on my left also walked two squares forward. The feminine voice spoke up, 'Thirty seconds left'.
Looking back down at the mini-map, it made total sense that the cells to my diagonal were the ones containing mines, so the cell right in front of me should be safe. I walked up to it, and at the same time, the young man on the right corner also walked to the square in front of him.
Ten seconds left. I anxiously looked around, observing the players around me. None of them looked at each other, only paying attention to their phones, and they seemed very serious about this game. The countdown reached zero again, and another 'ding' was played, followed by a loud explosion in front of me.
The man who had been standing beside me just a minute ago was blown up .
Literally.
A real land mine exploded through the concrete floor, leaving a hole in the ground, and the body of the man – at least, what was left of him – was lying down on top of it.
Pure shock hit me. I felt my legs tremble as I fell on my butt, mouth open and eyes wide staring at the gruesome scene in front of me. I wished I could look away, but I was too frozen in fear to move my body.
The only thing that had taken me out of my trance state was the feminine voice saying 'thirty seconds left' once again. I looked up at the other players, but no one else seemed to be shocked by what had just happened near us, and they all had already chosen their new positions; The two on my left walked one square forward each, and the young man on the right walked two squares forward.
I looked down at my phone, the counter stated twenty seconds left, and the number at the top of the screen was now 19 instead of 20. Twenty seconds for me to choose which square to move to, at the risk of being blown up like that man.
'My current position on the mini-map showed the number four. The two squares beside me were sure to be mined cells… The man died on the cell diagonally right to me… So my choices are the one in front of me and the one diagonally to my left… Wait, that lady was standing on this cell just a few moments ago, wasn’t she?'
Ten seconds left.
I didn’t want to keep trying to figure out the strategy for this game. My body was shaking, my legs felt too weak for me to stand up. I crawled as fast as I could, two squares forward, kneeling at the center of my new cell.
The counter reached zero, followed by that same 'ding' sound, but no explosions happened this time.
I wanted to look back at the body behind me, but I knew I shouldn’t. Anxiety filled me and I looked down at my phone; My cell had three bombs around it. I knew one was behind me, and the other was the one that exploded. I couldn’t think straight to guess what other cell would contain the third mine, the sound of the explosion repeating itself inside my mind, as the awful smell of blood and burnt flesh filled my lungs.
All the other players had moved again, and I was shocked at how calm they looked. I wanted to ask something to the young man to the right since he looked nicer than the lady and the other guy, but he had walked forward three squares, too far away for me to reach him without shouting.
I crawled forward two squares, now moving beside that lady again, 'I should try to talk to her again' , but I couldn’t speak; I felt a knot in my throat, preventing my voice from coming out. I must have looked pathetic at that moment, kneeling in fear, shaking, and holding back tears.
I began crawling forward again, thinking if I could keep moving three squares forward I would be able to get out of this game faster. The woman beside me spoke up for the first time, shouting at me to go back, 'Oi, walking forward three cells is too risky! Do you want to die like that man?' I didn’t look at her, only sat down back where I was.
When the countdown finished this time, the lady walked forward twice immediately after hearing the 'ding' sound. 'Did she know where all the mines were?'
I wanted to trust her, believing that the cell in front of me would contain a mine. I was finally back at my feet, walking forward twice again, the remaining players moved at the same time. All four of us were now standing in the same row. The new numbers shown after the signal were 2 - 4 - 4 - [ ] - 2.
'Tsk, that stupid man died too early. We don’t have anyone to show the numbers on the fourth line. We will have to keep guessing.'
'She has been guessing this whole time? And yet she remains so calm, taking such a risk of stepping on a land mine and dying, just like that man?' I was shocked at her statement. But unfortunately, she was right. Trying to analyze the mini-map on my phone, I guessed the first two and last two cells had mines, due to the two 'number two' shown. But some cells behind us had no numbers because no one stepped on them before, so my guess could be wrong. With this, I couldn’t be sure of any mines around me except for the one probably behind me. 'I think I’ll just keep trusting that lady’s judgment and follow her steps beside her'.
All players had now moved two squares forward, and I followed them. With only ten seconds remaining, the guy to my left walked one more square forward, with a smug look on his face, 'He’s too confident in his choices.'
The counter reached zero. A 'ding' and another explosion were heard. That smug guy was now dead as well. His body lying down near the hole formed on the ground, his arms spread over the square to his right, a blue wristband covered in bright red blood.
The sound scared me again and I pressed my hands to my ears, shaking in fear. I looked over at the woman, waiting for her to make a move that I could follow, and our eyes met; She was staring at me with that same expression at the beginning of the game. I hated it, I felt like a weak scaredy-cat, I could stay right here and wait for whatever punishment was prepared for players who didn’t move during the time limit for each round. I had never been this terrified before.
The woman took her eyes off me and walked forward again. The young man to my right had been waving his hands up in the air for some reason, and when I looked up I realized he was trying to get my attention since I was still covering my ears. Lowering my hands and looking directly into his face, I could hear him say in a calm voice: 'Hey, this must be your first game. I know how you feel, I was the same during my first game. But please, don’t give up now. We are all here trying to survive, and you should too, live on for those who couldn’t.'
His words almost made me release the tears I had been holding back all this time. Live on for those who couldn’t? Does he mean the two other men who died near us? Can my survival really mean anything to anyone, especially to these people I had never seen before?
I didn’t know what to say, but he just finished his sentence with a kind smile and walked forward without waiting for me to reply. I wanted to clean off the tears forming in the corners of my eyes with the sleeve of my shirt, but as soon as my hand came near my face I noticed my sleeve had been splattered with dried blood. It smelled awful, and it reminded me of the explosion noises again.
I finally decided to move forward, I wanted to finish this cruel game as soon as possible. Or maybe I was just pretending to be strong while waiting to die to a land mine as well. I still wanted to follow the lady beside me, she looked smart and much better than me at minesweeper. All of us walked forward two squares, standing on the same row once again. Our new positions in the mini-map were all numbered two, but this time none of the cells around us – except for me and the woman beside me – were unopened. We all would have to guess.
'Should we all move forward two squares again? That is already the second-to-last row. We had been moving two squares for a while now and we have been safe, this could keep working until the end.' I suggested in a low voice, I hadn’t said anything since that knot formed in my throat like what, five minutes ago? I hadn’t lifted my face off my phone, observing what I now realized was a mine count at the top of the screen, showing the number 18.
Silence. I was sure this lady was bothered enough that I had been following her, and the man only looked at me with an unknowing expression, like he didn’t know how to play minesweeper and had been relying on luck this whole time.
Both of them decided to move only one square forward. They didn’t want to follow my advice. Still, they remained completely calm, and they seemed more experienced than me at this; both of them had implied before that there were more 'games' like this, so maybe there was a pattern to them that they already knew about. If that was the case, I wasn’t going to trust myself, being a complete beginner to this kind of thing.
I moved forward only one square as well.
A 'ding'.
And an explosion, much louder than the two previous ones.
The reason for that loud sound was that two explosions happened at the same time. I saw debris flying from both corners of my eyes. Clutching to my heart, I didn’t know if I wanted to look at either of them now. I knew they were dead. The lady who had looked so serious and confident since the start of this game, and the young man who was probably counting on his luck and tried to reassure me in a moment of anxiety.
Both of them, dead next to me.
Tears were finally running down my face. I didn’t know any of them, why was I crying over the death of four people I never knew?
Stupid me. They were still real, brutal deaths that happened very close to me. This wasn’t anything like seeing people die in horror movies. I didn’t rely on those fictional characters to survive, and I couldn’t feel the foul odor from their dead bodies. This was different. Reality was different, and it was much worse.
I walked forward two squares, now standing on the last row of this board. Or better said, crouching down. I left the phone on the floor in front of me and hugged my knees, sobbing uncontrollably, though I didn't know why I was crying so hard. I was sure I was going to die like them, I didn’t trust myself for this.
The counter reached zero one last time, and I embraced myself, waiting for a land mine to take my life away, just like it did to those people. I heard that 'ding' again, but nothing else happened. I barely moved up my head, looking at the phone screen through the tears in front of my eyes. The first thing I noticed was the mine count, now showing the number 16. Below that number, the grid was now complete – it showed all the cells on the board and their respective numbers and bomb markers.
I picked up my phone to look at it closer, and something made me feel sick to my stomach: Following the lines that lady and that young man were, if they had walked forward two squares as I suggested before, they would have landed on safe cells.
My guess had been correct. If they had believed me, the three of us would have survived.
I was crying again, when the screen changed one last time, and that feminine voice echoed through the empty lot:
[GAME CLEAR]
CONGRATULATIONS
TO THE SURVIVORS OF THE GAME, WE WILL NOW SUPPLY YOU WITH A VISA
Seven symbols appeared on the screen, shaped like the diamond suit from card games. I had no idea what this meant, but I think the game was over now. So I could finally leave?
Once it hit me, I ran . Going down the metal stairs as fast as I could, the few lights in the building went out and I almost tripped on my feet multiple times. I ran down to the entrance floor of the parking garage and, right where I first came in, a white round table that wasn’t there before now stood in my way, with a single card placed on top of it – a seven of diamonds. Just in case this had any meaning, I shoved the card inside the back pocket of my jeans and left.
I put my earphones back in, trying to calm myself down with some music. It was dark outside. No lights coming from any of the buildings nearby, only the moon and the stars shining up in the night sky.

Deduction #1
Hello everyone, this is my first post and it’s been a while since I’ve practiced thoroughly.
Background: during a bus commute I briefly made some observations about another passenger:
The passenger was holding the right hand in their left hand in a hand-over-hand fashion.
They had medium to short length slightly wavy brown hair.
Was in possession of a green eco-friendly reusable bag. Which seemed to contain an item or two
Dressed fairly nicely but not too formally, had a preference for warmth as well instead of visual appeal.
They were wearing a black face mask and had some earphones in which seemed to be the type to have noise cancellation.
They had a ring, plain silver band with a square type of signet, on their left middle finger. Another ring can be seen on their right ring finger but I couldn’t get a good look.
Has a card holder phone case with their public transport travel card being the only visible card as the card holding compartment was stuck to the back of the phone case.
These observations lead me to believe that:
Based on probability they are right handed.
Hair preferences are always weird however, from the ends to near the roots the tone and colour of hair differed and was lighter than what seemed to be the original colour. This indicates a range of insights such as the probability that the individual was into modern fashion and cared about how they looked but now is not able to care as much meaning that it could’ve been a phase. It could also imply that the person was just overtaken by life’s business to worry about their hair.
The possession of only a single reusable eco-friendly shopping bag shouts that they planned to only purchase a couple of items in their trip out of the house today. In combination with the fact that the bag was not even half full and was folded over itself a little makes it obvious that they were covering a small errand as part of their return trip home.
As they were dressed fairly well in good quality materials it is safe to say that they are doing fairly well financially. However, they are frugal with their money and takes care with their spending. This matches with later observations~~~ As today was a cold day it gives insights into their practical nature.
Due to the black face mask this infers that the person is quite health conscious or has to be health conscious due to either their own immune system or a close one’s. Additionally, the possession of noise cancelling earphones suggests that the individual is a seasoned public transport commuter as a mask was made popular and mandatory when travelling during COVID-19 peaks and the noise cancelling earphones for commuters who don’t want to listen to the humdrum of society’s lessers.
Having one or two rings usually signifies a commitment to something due to some meaningful aspect of a memory or event that ties to it. On the other hand, having many rings, especially visually appealing rings, may indicate that the person is just dressing up for looks. This particular individual seemed to have connected meaningful aspects of their life to these two rings as they seemed to be a bit too small for their fingers. This can indicate that they have been in possession of the rings for a long time and thus it has become a part of them.
As the card holder seemed to be there for the sole purpose of using their paid travelling card it is safe to deduce that they are a seasoned commuter and it is part of their every day life. This gives insights into the potential idea that the individual does not own their own vehicle for transport and/or is unable to use a close relative or partner’s. Following this line of inferences and all of the above leads me to summarise.
TLDR;
The subject under perusal is a middle-aged individual who is dominant right handed, consumed social media and was influenced to conform to modern fashion for a brief period of time. They are environmentally friendly and seem to be frugal with their spending and money. They are quite the practical person opting for functionality over aesthetics leading to my belief that they have quite a straightforward personality, are caring and introverted. They are comfortable financially but could be doing better. Additionally, they are not in a relationship or are close to their biological family as there seemed to be no pictures of close ones, children, partner(s) or family anywhere on personal objects. Lastly, they do not own a personal vehicle.

What were an average day’s tasks at your favorite job you’ve had so far? Working with big brands/clients = campaigns around the clock, all year long. That said I’m constantly brainstorming for and conceptualizing PR proposals for consumer campaigns; looking for 50-100 influencers at a time who can best fit my running campaigns; I write a lot and cover stuff from press releases to event scripts to lifestyle articles; working with suppliers for stuff like PR kits, mounting events, brand sponsorships; and I help in handling even financial aspects like ensuring talents are paid after they fulfill their contract. The work is very 360º in nature, is fast-paced and you can usually tell early on if a new hire is gonna last or not depending on how fast they can adjust/keep up.
Does your house have an separate laundry room? Idk if it counts as a room...but we did erect this makeshift ‘room’ at the rooftop for laundry stuff. It’s basically a super tiny customized room we had made to fit the washing machine because those things just take up so much space indoors and usually end up being an eyesore.
Do your parents still help you financially? Technically, yes. I never ask for money anymore (unless I have to borrow) and I always make a transfer every payday, but they do remain in charge of managing the bills and buying groceries. I imagine whatever I contribute becomes absorbed in the bills and whatnot, but for the most part it’s fair to say they still support me.
List 3 things you can see from where you’re sitting? I can see my phone, the TV, and my earphones.
Do you go by any nicknames? I just go by Robyn most of the time, but I have a few relatives who call me Byn.
Are you a very talkative person? Depends on the crowd.
What stereotype about your age group do you definitely live up to? I’m obsessed with social media and it’s a must for me to check each of my feeds on a daily, hell hourly, basis. Except for TikTok I guess as I find that shit annoying and most edits cringey for the most part.
When was the last time it rained where you live? Thursday. Such a refreshing sight, too; it hasn’t rained in months.
Where is your local polling place for elections? My village’s clubhouse.
What was the topic of the last documentary you watched? It was that new MH370 documentary that came out on Netflix a month ago. Around that same period I also started on In the Name of God which is about Korean cults, but found it too upsetting to be able to finish it.
Does your car have a backup camera? I’m not sure what a backup camera is but I do have a dashcam in case some idiots mess with my car and pretend to get run over.
Have either of your parents ever been in trouble with the law? My mom for some minor traffic violations. I don’t think my dad’s ever run into an issue; he’s barely in the country anyway HAHA.
What was the last restaurant you ate at? It’s a local coffee shop called Daily Habit.
Are you in the same mood most days or are your emotions all over the place? The only time I’m all over the place is when I’m nearing my period; otherwise I can manage my emotions quite well.
Have you ever had a pet that lived to be really old for its breed/species? Kimi lived to be 14, which was way longer than I ever expected. I thought that little dude was going to last forever with how he always bounced back from every single health scare. 14 years is above average for a dog, but I’m still very impressed and amazed by him.
Do you have a preferred brand of bottled water? I avoid bottled water whenever I can since all of them have a ~taste.
Have you ever spilled food or drink in your car? Once or twice. My bigger issue is when the dogs throw up in the car hahaha. Much harder to handle and clean up.
Is your skin more oily, dry, or combination? Dryness is a major problem for my skin at the moment.
Have you ever been in a relationship that was progressing faster than you wanted it to? I don’t think so. My previous one had an okay pacing for the most part, but it was the rapid crashing and burning towards the end of it that really threw me off-guard and messed me up mentally.
What kind of flooring is in the room you’re in? Hardwood.
Pop quiz! Who is the prime minister of Germany? Germany doesn’t have a Prime Minister. < Ok there you go then, haha.
What was the last strong scent you smelled? My black forest-flavored coffee. Not the biggest fan of this variant but it’s the only kind left in the pantry (and it’s the only one left since I avoided it this entire time hahaha), and I wanted to drink coffee before sleeping so here we are.
Are you more prone to overthinking things, or being too impulsive? I’m a very toxic combination of both. Overthinking makes me impulsive. When was the last time you wore an article of clothing that wasn’t yours? A month ago when I borrowed my sister’s sweatpants for an event.
Which one of your friends do you see the least often? My college friends BY A MILE.
Do you know anyone with a life-threatening food allergy? A number of them have food allergies but idk they themselves don’t seem to concerned by it?? Like all they need are antihistamines and that’s all I ever hear about it.
When was the last time you were outside? This morning when my family went to Sunday mass.
Who was the last person you sent a birthday card to? How old did they turn? I don’t send birthday cards...not a practice here.
[A/N: another two-in-one just because]
- Past -
Are you happy with your upbringing? No. I know my elders tried their best, but sometimes the best still isn’t good enough. I grew up in a very crowded half of a duplex; my parents were barely home (something for which I hold no grudge – they were just working to make us as comfortable as possible back then); I had relatives who drank and smoke on a sickeningly regular basis – sometimes leading to embarrassing, loud, public, and physical fights that the entire neighborhood would be witness to; and there was rarely a platform to be a kid. We never did anything during summer vacations and I can’t remember most of my childhood birthdays because there had been no plans for them.
I’m not resentful and have moved past that shitfest, but I imagine I’d do everything in my power for my hypothetical kids’ childhood to be entirely different.
Who was your first best friend? Someone in kindergarten named Kaye. Who was your first love? Not naming any people we’re trying to healthily move past :)
Did you ever attend any school dances? Like...prom? Yeah I had to go to my school’s own prom because it was required (ew), then I got invited to be a date at another school’s senior ball.
Did you play any sports growing up? Table tennis. I’m pretty sure I had potential in football/futsal because we had to take up a few sessions in school and was surprisingly an ok goalkeeper lol – even the PE teacher pointed it out – but I never pursued it.
Did you have a special blanket when you were younger? I didn’t.
What movie reminds you of your childhood? Toy Story, Shrek 2, and Finding Nemo.
Were you a picky eater as a child? Very picky. I only liked eating eggs and hotdogs. Took hours to finish anything else.
What’s your favorite memory with a family member? Growing up with my eldest cousin on my mom’s side. He’s always been an older brother rather than a cousin.
Did you ever have to share a bedroom? Yes I shared one room with my parents and siblings until I was 10.
Are there any smells that remind you of the past? There’s a very specific coffee smell that would hurl me right back to my childhood if I ever smelled it again. My maternal grandparents always drank coffee together in the morning, and they always used the same combination of brands (instant coffee, creamer, etc) that would result in the same aromatic smell every day.
Did you play outside or inside as a child? Outside. Indoors was crowded enough with more than 10 people squished in three small rooms, so if we wanted to run around and be kids we had to ask permission to play outdoors.
What was your first favorite song? Continued from last weekend. Idk man, something from Hi-5 maybe? Or High School Musical? Were you ever pranked at a sleepover? Hmm, I don’t think so.
- Present -
What’s your favorite color to wear? I like olive green, burgundy, and mustard yellow.
Who is your favorite musical artist? Currently and has been for a while, BTS.
Do you have any pets? I have two dogs. Kimi also hangs out with them in the living room, just as an urn on the coffee table hehe. :)
If so, how many and what kind? I have a beagle and a Yorkie.
Do you live with your parents or on your own? I live with my parents and siblings.
Are you in school? Nopes.
Do you have a job? I do.
If so, do you like it? I don’t love it, but like I’ve also got no plans to leave it any time soon. I’m still learning and I work really well with everyone; there’s really no reason for me to leave.
How often are you on the internet? Everyday...this survey must be quite old, because I think a good majority of people have at least one reason to go online at least once a day at this point.
On average, how much time a day do you spend on your appearance? 0 minutes, 5 minutes if I have to show up to work or at a work-related event.
Do you have any children? I don’t have any, no.
Are you in a relationship? Nope.
Are you subscribed to any streaming services? Spotify, YouTube, Disney+ yeah.
What time do you usually go to sleep and wake up? These days I’ll sleep anywhere between midnight to 2 AM at the latest; I usually wake up at 7.
- Future -
Do you have any long-term goals? Sure, but they’re all leisure-related – like going to Wrestlemania or traveling to a different continent and experiencing jet lag for the first time hahaha. I’m not a fan of making work/career-oriented goals; it brings in unwanted pressure more than anything.
Do you want children? (Or more if you already have any) I used to want to have kids, but ever since my failed relationship made me stoic I’ve been emotionless about the idea of having a family. I’m just not interested anymore; and kids annoy me these days lol so.
Where would you like to be in your career five years from now? In a higher position, with an even higher salary. Only time will tell if I’ll still be on the agency side or actually make the switch to the brand side by then haha.
Do you think you’ll ever move from the city you’re in? For sure. I have plans for that anyway; I’ve stayed here for more than 20 years and I know that eventually I’ll crave a new environment.
How do you hope your life will look in 10 years? I hope I’ll be more independent by then.
Do you think you’re heading in that direction? Bit by bit, yeah.

I was reading Nausea by Sartre and I came across this chapter where he expressed great contempt about the daylight falling in his room, touching everything, all over the place.
He didn't like the fact that it revealed the intricacies which one wouldn't know otherwise, like the dust resting on the books, the table, scattered in the room like flakes during a snowfall.
He didn't like the patterns it made, its shadows casting shapes and lines, over his face, hands, the body.
I was thinking if I feel the same, if I too share the same contempt that Sartre did. I like the sun, not the sun, but the light it casts, the shapes and shadows it gives away around me.
I went to town recently. It seems that "survival of the fittest" works in getting the university bus seat too.
You're a cattle in a herd, cramped between students, waiting impatiently. It arrives empty, but fills within minutes.
When I stepped in, my eyes shot straight towards the end- a few inches of space, in the middle of two people.
The driver was already seated, impatient, resting his one hand on the steering wheel while the other gripped the gear tightly. He looked back, his eyes scanning to confirm there wasn't an inch left to take another soul. He gives a quick nod, steps on the gas pedal, and sets off aggressively.
The bus was in its full swing, while I struggled to get to the end, swinging like a pendulum, accidentally stepping over a few people's feet, stealing disapproving glances and grunts from the annoyed faces, faces I couldn't recognise.
When I finally managed to get to the seat, it felt like a small victory. Considering my tall existence and not so wide frame, it didn't take much effort to settle.
I must admit, the flattened cushion does provide some comfort. The driver steered the ASTC bus as if he was in a video game. It is always better to be seated than to stand on foot, falling everywhere, your fate and balance depending upon the driver's whim and his steering.
It takes roughly thirty minutes for the bus to reach town from the university. During the passage, few students sleep, some chatter, while others, like myself, plugin into music. But this time, the tangled earphones stayed inside the pockets, resting. I took out my phone, and recorded something, a glimmering light that caught my eye.
It was afternoon and the sun was at its peak, it barged in through the half closed windows in the bus. I could see the shadows moving, I could see it on the floor, running smoothly between perfectly aligned columns of seats on both the sides. The light flickered.
It disappeared when the bus passed through narrow streets, lined with tall buildings and shops, but it stayed when the roads were wide. It was an 'on-and-off' affair, a game of hide and seek.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The light didn't bother people, even at times when it fell on their faces, partially. No one paid attention to it, to these shadows that changed every moment while the bus covered the distance, nearing destination with every turn of its wheels.
Sitting there, sandwiched between those two people, I was lost looking at these fluttering lights when it suddenly occurred to me how Sartre disliked daylight during that one particular part in his book. Such was his disgust, that he spent an entire afternoon delving over it.
I have made a new cat friend. Once, in her failed attempt to become spiderman, she fell on my face, bringing down the curtains with her. With the face of defeat, she sat next to the window, facing the filtered sun, sulking.
I don't share the same conviction as Sartre. I like how the light dances, how it escapes through the spaces in the bus, through the windows and the iron grills. I like how it makes a grid on the walls, how it falls on my bed in the mornings when the curtains have fallen, while a cat sits next to me, sulking.

TheOldGabeOr… The First Time
Tumblr media
Imagine the light entering your room at four in the afternoon. It’s warm because it's sunny, and the rays of light are making their way calmly to your beige carpet, simply and smoothly, exactly how things are supposed to be. Flowing naturally, exercising the simple nature of what they were born to do. There's no question why, it just is. And everything feels fine because it’s just you, the sun, and your private world.
What I just described is a scene from a movie that I rewatched yesterday called The First Time — a movie that shaped most of my aesthetic goals in life now, such as having a wave collage on my room and a record collection. My day had been shitty and unproductive, so I just wanted to watch something safe. I had remembered this film a few days ago and meant to come back to it, so it felt like the right choice for a comfort movie. It starts with Dave meeting Aubrey (Dylan O'Brien and Britt Robertson) on a dark alley near a house that was having a party that their friends were invited to, but that they didn't feel like going for their own personal reasons, so there they were, in an alley, ready to be surprised by life.
That reminded me of a concept I've been trying to absorb since a bus ride to work that I'll never forget, from years and years ago: of how things happen when you’re not expecting them to. Of course, it’s a cliché idea from a cliché movie, but it holds some truth. Nowadays, you have an app for everything: making friends, meeting your future love, having meaningless sex. It’s all too controlled by a piece of metal, plastic, and glass in your tiny hands. The whole world and all its possibilities just laying there, for you to decide what's good and worth it. Life is so much bigger than that. For me, having control was always the most important thing, even if I didn't notice because it was my subconscious that was pulling the strings. As you grow old, you realize that the best things happen out of the blue. The most special, too.
Honestly, I don’t feel like telling my kids I met their father on an app. Imagine how cool it would be to say that we met each other in a coffee shop and he asked me about the book I was reading? Or that we met on the underground when he noticed that I was mad and asked me why (“Tesco closes at 11 pm on a Saturday night. Can you believe that? I just wanted to be drunk!”). Maybe I’m too old-fashioned, and the time for that has come and gone, but still, wouldn’t it feel romantic? Wouldn't it feel right?
Piece by piece, I’m trying to open up more and more. For me, that means taking my earphones in public. That’s a huge deal for me. You know, just sit on the underground train reading a Dostoevsky book or walking down the streets hearing the city noises, not my music (trying to get drunk but being sabotaged by Tesco). That’s a concept I’m trying to put into a song also, but I’m still trying to find the right words for it. Especially because I also feel like it could be something like that “on his own world” kind of guy that someone tries to come into the bubble and show him that he can be loved and cherished even if he's broken inside (specially if he's broken inside). If in movies, we have the lonely lost boy being found, why can’t we have it in the real world, too? Is it too far-fetched to hope for that? Who has the answer?
Maybe I’m too busy trying my best to not fantasize things and daydream anymore. But recently it feels like that’s not a bad thing and, if done right, it won’t stop you from getting what you want. Call it manifestation? My new friend here, she's the one who likes to stay quiet in the underground train daydreaming. Or visualizing herself as the characters of a movie she had just watched. I found that so fascinating to hear. So unique, carefree, and free of anxious thoughts, but if it was coming from me, the words I would use to describe would probably be all in the "weird" semantic.
If there's a first time for everything, how does one find a way to have a first time in something that was already lost in time? Redefining can be done for everything, or is there a rule to that? I don't have the answers, but every great discovery started with a question. I just find it hard to remember myself to keep asking these types of questions, but I'm glad that I can be reminded of that with movies like this one. Especially with a young shirtless Dylan O'Brien.

Battery Types For Bluetooth Headphones
Watching TV without disturbing others is a big problem for our company. I like to watch out TV before going to sleep and my wife always complains about security alarm and we end up having arguments over the idea. This is why I started looking doing this occurs headphones to use while television. I identified these wireless headphones that are very affordable and now I don't watch TV with anything other than the usual pair of Sennheiser RS 130 Wireless Surround Sound Headphones. An individual are someone really likes having a brilliant acoustic experience while watching TV, may really actually check out this model.

Before the what, you'll need to answer the so just why. What is goal in purchasing set of headphones exactly where there is will you be with them? Will you buy headphones and put them on just to while away the time at school, doing the grocery possibly in your bed room? If you choose them on your own way to school or work, will you be walking or crossing streets? If so, maybe earphones may very well be the more sensible choice because tend not to drown out the noise of the environment as many as headphones, which may incapacitate industry to hear onrushing atv's.
Sony seems to have a great set of Bluetooth Sleeping Headphones known as the MDR-NC500. These headphones use digital noise canceling that can the whole ANC anywhere up to another step. It uses the digital system to select a filter sound for outside noise so it truly is more good at blocking out sounds. Are cheaper . a monitor switch so you don't require take away from the headphones means positivity . have to pay attention to external sound. This model has gotten rave reviews on comfort as well as top quality of sound.
My only criticism of this occurence otherwise brilliant product reality that you cannot charge it via a USB link. However, you can expect up to 32 hours listening time on one single charge if not more to 600 hours standby time. They weigh buying.academy/ under 11 oz of. The suggested retail expense is $250, but shop headphones around and obtain probably fare best.
Have a wonderful bowl of mashed potatoes -the natural sleeping prescription. Have some kind of food that generally forces you to be tired. And so go rest about half-hour or hour later. Do not drink liquids as much more wake you out of trouble of a sleep.
These are something which use on a nightly framework. I only wish that I had started with him or her sooner. During our childhood I lived near a busy street and also the noises would always keep me up. Some people find the noises regarding your city comforting, but I did so not at all.
Everybody loves gifts. And, top ideas for gifts for sweet sixteen birthday are all over. The gift does not always have in order to an objective. Just being together with friends and family and having a wonderful time is a gift alone.

i’m just a girl. with my little treats. rotting.
i take chances, fail at it and resurface. i have hope, i am stubborn. i self diagnose, i deny. i binge eat and cry later. i pretend to read books that appeal to me, never actually finishing any of them. i yearn and long for love, to be loved and to love. yet i run far away from it. i am faced with a reflection of myself, just like in a mirror-i put up a show, watching. watching myself cry, laugh, always conscious. wishing i could spend endlessly on little treats. lip gloss, trinkets, coffee shops, pastries. i want to have a personality that pre exists in my head. a cool girl. girls who listen to music all the times are cool. i want to be that girl. girls who shower, do skincare and drink water are cool. i want to be that girl. red lipstick ,short hair, tattoos, wired earphones. i want to be that girl. i want to make people laugh, drink wine, talk shit. i want to have radiance that exudes me blatantly. i want to be someone’s sunshine, a little treat. i want to learn how to sew, be consistent. i want to peel away this skin and blossom into a new self, a clean slate. i want to caress my eyeballs, run them under cold water and put them back in. i want to see the beyond. all i ever do is rot. this prolonged rot is reaching the depths of my skin, my bones. i feel the rot seeping slowly into my veins, my eyelashes, the hair on my arms. constantly picking on the skin of my right thumb, biting and chewing and gnawing at it till it bleeds. my little treat. biting my lips, scratching the phantom itch. a routine. sucking my tummy in, holding my breath for seconds on end, tongue touching the roof of my mouth. a constant ache. a void. a lack. the rot. it starts slowly, creeping its way up. i feel it in my toes, ankles, ears, hair. but—all this gone the second a little treat surfaces. staring at walls, smoking a cigarette, people watching. people watching, seeing emotions on another face, a wrinkle near the eye, teeth. my little treat. calling my mother, venting—cautiously; everything but nothing. listening to random conversations, laughs, the subtle slurp of coffee from a cup. tantalising. my little treats. going to the library, sifting through countless irrelevant books, finding something that would satisfy the reflection, satisfy the watch….my little treat. my existence is everything but nothing. little treats. just a girl and her little treats. rotting.

~21/11/2022~ Didn’t wake up on very good form as hadn’t slept well as headband earphones weren’t as comfortable to sleep in as I hoped and playing white noise through them didn’t shut out the mothership’s prolific snoring. Luckily we didn’t have to early a start. It was pouring with rain all day so we did as much indoor stuff as possible. I’d booked us tickets for the titanic museum, which was pretty expensive, but I’d say it was worth it - there was this cool ride included in the tour and the experience was quite autism friendly (titanic was a special interest of ours when we were younger so it was definitely of interest, and pretty much the only thing in Belfast I haven’t done before!). We had lunch in the cafe there. Then we had a quick look around the SS nomadic. Parked near brothership’s flat, walked through botanic gardens, went to another Maggie Mays Café where I had a monster milkshake, which was seriously good and gave me a bit more energy for the rest of the day. We were going to go to the Ulster Museum, but it was actually closed :/ so went for a rainy walk into the city centre instead - saw City Hall, went to a Christmas Market there, then to Victoria Square shopping centre to dry off a bit! We ended up having dinner there in Zizzis, which was nice. Then me and the mothership walked back to the hotel. Watched a documentary about the titanic when we got back as was feeling inspired. Actually feeling pretty chilled now - hopefully sleep is better tonight… 🦄 #instadaily #instablog #update #mentalhealth #dissociativeidentitydisorder #cptsd #autism #traumarecovery #edrecovery #anxiety #chronicillness #disability #pots #potsie #dysautonomia #positivevibes #recovery #magical #wakehurst #nationaltrust #autumn #autumnal #fall #autumnvibes #nature #reflections #naturelove #natureseeker #naturesperfection (at Wakehurst) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClPOL9oqvZdKybru9J86hyooj8Yhc9FFPI-Yt80/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Felt like a million bucks after almost a decade!
Tumblr media
November 11, 2022
David Karunakaran is soo happy. No it is not because of anything like money, career success, girls, drugs, drinks... Nothing but sheer coincidence or Providence made me enjoy 25, absolute minutes of this day which was all rain and non stop raining, baby!
I had a decent day at work, had a good colleague Mr.Manoj with me working till half past 9 in the evening. Rain was monstrous the whole day and I did not think my ride home through my bicycle would be this enjoyable. Let me tell you.
Enjoying rain is something I was often denied by parents but on this day, I took the decision to go home by my cycle than by a cab which I was asked to do so.
Wearing a rain jacket, a very good cap, I rode my cycle slowly on the road.
The streets near my office were empty like a haunted town. I didn't give a **** because I had my phone playing Gary Clark Jr.'s hits via my Bluetooth earphones.
The pot holes were carefully evaded ny me but I got a little wobbly when I got a little into one but that's a piece of cake.
As I reached the main Avinashi roads, i almost felt like the Tail lights were Red carpets unfurled for me to take the path.
The lights reflecting on the wet road was like red carpet, you get the picture right? You should!!!
I enjoyed the shops' different colored neon sign board lights. The rain drops started becoming smaller every 5 mins but no, I am going to enjoy every single drop of them hitting me.
And that's when the song 'The Life' by Gary Clark Jr. started playing.
Oh my god no other song could have been the best pick that night. I drove so slow losing the weight of my failures, regrets, sorrows, greed...I lost everything except for the sense to enjoy this moment whole.
The weather was humid, sky's rainy, light is fading but my joy was growing like a kid enjoying his candies or like a teen having his first kiss. Not exaggerating! I felt smile, that could not be taken away from me for a brief moment.
The whole road after the flyover I would take was empty. And I started pedaling a little faster to reach home, and I continued to enjoy the rain and songs.
As I reached home, i saw my parents waiting. I reached at half past 10.
My father is a cool guy who understands my crazy nature, so he saw that I'm wrapped in a jacket, wearing cap and covered in a smile that's unsetttling.
He was cool but mom wanted to yell but hahahaha I didn't take away the earphones till she went away
I know tomorrow will be hell and so do the next days but tonight I entered Paradise.. and now it is slowy getting lost, hence I am immortalizing this moment in words.
