(Name) Butterfly is the Second Princess of Mewni and the Younger Sister of Queen Eclipsa.She has long red hair ,light Turquoise eyes and red round shaped marks on her cheeks.

Being the second Princess she didn't experience using her Family Relic,the Magic wand of the Butterflies that was pass down to generations to generations. Ofcourse she already knew from the beginning she wouldn't wield it. However her late Mother Queen Solaria the Monster Carver requested that she would given a replica of the family wand.

When her Mother was alive she would always want to protect her two daughters,so when she reigned Mewni she requested to the Embodiment of the Magic Book of there family to make a replica for her Protection.Just when her sister turned fourteen she received it.

She was thankfull for her mother's gift even though it was the last gift she ever received from her.

When she touched her wand it turned to a key like wand.She also found out that she can turn it to a necklace,she expect what would happen next...

She was mourning her mother's death and wanted someone to comfort her, suddenly her tears fell from her eyes to her wand and it lit up.

That surprised her very much and watched as the one ascend through the air and watch it transforms to a cat?!

This was the best thing that happened to her in weeks after her mother's death, a cat that was loyal to her and comforted her in hours mourning. It felt she felt and she decided to name her KeeKee.

Timeskip

You were currently having breakfast with your sister and her husband, yeah you never did like Shastacan or what's his name. You see him as rude and so full of himself,so you really don't how your sister survives him. If you were her you would rather feed yourself to monsters.

"So n/n how's your lesson with Glossaryck been going?"Your sister Eclipsa asked you, you stopped eating and looked at your sister "well, to be completely honest sister?poor Glossaryck is having a hard time"i giggled and Eclipse joined in"my,my sister don't give him a hard time"

You saluted and she laughed again, You and Your sister were always close but sometimes you feel like she hiding something from you.

As Breakfasts came to an end, you said goodbye to my sister and well except for Shastacan.

You removed your necklace and let transform into a cat " hewo Keekee"you said in a baby voice and she rubbed her head on your hand.

"should we visit another dimension?i think Glossaryck is going with sister today"You told her" and i may have stolen a portal scissor , don't tell anyone okay"

You went to your room to change into something comfortable, you put on a cloak and gotten everything you need ready.

Keekee transforms back into a key necklace as you put the hood of the cloak on. You cut the air to open a portal.

Earth

You visited here multiple times cause you a curious Princess.

Here it was so different from Mewni,its very interesting to say the least.

You explored more around and Keekee already transformed earlier as she guide you through the paths,she was given to you like she was your babysitter as some people joke.

You were to busy looking around you didn't noticed Keekee to be distracted to something.When you finally noticed you ran try to find your beloved pet.

"Keekee?where are you girl?" You shouted and looked around until you saw her in the hands of a blonde short man with a top hat he was sitting down by a tree.

It looked like Keekee was comforting him like she comforted you..

You walked closer to get a glimpse of the man he had the most beautiful face you ever seen and you were shocked to see he had similar marks on the cheeks like yours.

"hello?"you said which made the man jumped in surprise.

He looked at you and you remove your hood"hi?"he replied voice hoarse.

Was he crying?

Keekee saw you and rubbed herself on your leg"oh is this your cat?"you nodded.

"well I didn't know sorry..."

"it's alright,it seemed like you needed it..."you said"can i sit down with you?"he looked confused but nodded.

"hasn't anyone told you about stranger danger?"he asked and i laughed.

"well i like danger and it looks like you could use someone to talk to...my cat doesn't usually comfort any other people... she's like a detector for people who need a little help" you trailed off looking at Keekee.

"how can you be sure i need someone?"

"well,Keekee does and i trust my feline companion"

He laughed and it was like music to your ears.

"I'm (Name) by the way , what's yours?"

He froze and looked hesitant in telling you his name.

"it's umm.."

You looked at him with a confused face

"it's Lucifer..."he fully expect for you to run away.

But you didn't and smiled.

"nice to meet you Lucifer"

Lucifer yet again had to suffer his punishment. Only seeing the bad of his doings, he was summoned by a bunch of people devoted to him. They had sacrificed a lamb , baby lamb.

He can't endure this.. he only want people to have freedom and this is the consequences he got.

He teleported out out of that part of the forest and sat by a trying to maintain his breathing.

He sobbed for this retched cursed upon him.

Until he heard a meowing and saw a cat walking towards him at first he was scared to harm this little creature.

But It seems like it wasn't scared of him and for awhile it comforted him.

"KeeKee!"

He heard a luring voice but didn't moved an inch.

Until the girl greeted him,he was hesitant in interacting with this girl.

For some reason this girl is giving a source of good energy, not only that she was also gorgeous.

At the end he thought she would ran away from his name. But for some reason this girl seem confused at my hesitantion

I actually think you could have vastly improved the narrative if this guy was Eclipsa's monster husband instead of Globgor.

10: How Eclipsa's trail should have gone part 3

After the Mewnister’s questions

“Star, it’s your turn to ask the question.”

“One moment,” Eclipsa asked while raising her hands.

“May I ask my question first?”

At that, the entire trial erupted in outrage at her statement.

“Wait. What?”

“HaHaHa.”

“She can’t ask us a question.”

“I think she can! Right, Mom? My mom said! She said in the rules!”

Everyone looked at Star, then turned to Moon.

“Technically since Eclipsa was once a queen of Mewni, she was also a head of a Mewni noble house, and every head gets to ask one question.”

Lady Flowers then raised her hand. “But she abdicated her throne and title 300 years ago.”

“Yes, I did abdicate my noble title for Mewni, the species. However, I married into the House of Darkness, a noble house among the monsters and Mewni, the continent.”

The nobles turned to Moon who nodded. “I’ll allow it.”

Lady Flowers then turned to Star. “Do you want to let her go first Star?”

Star nodded. “Sure, why not?”

Eclipsa then stood up and cleared her throat.

“What did you and your ancestors do to my daughter?”

The Box turned its gaze upon the MHC and then grew a second eye on its rear so it could also shine a light upon the nobles.

“Oh, is that it?” Lady Berenice Firefly released a sigh of relief. “I can tell you that. Festivia was-“

“Festivia isn’t my daughter.”

Lady Berenice blinked at that before turning to the Box. “Is she telling the truth?”

Yes, she is.

“Oh.” She then turned back to Eclipsa. “Then who is she? And who is your daughter then?”

Eclipsa shrugged. “I have no idea. I thought she was just Jushtin’s daughter or another random kid from the line of succession. Why they decided to paint her as my daughter was completely unknown until it was mentioned in this court that there was a civil war brewing until she turned up.

“As for who my daughter is, her name was Meteora.”

The Box then made a holographic projection of baby Meteora appear in the middle of the room. All the Mewnisters gasped in shock upon seeing it. Eclipsa sadly smiled at their reaction.

“Do any of you know what happened to her?”

The nobles looked at each other and talked amongst themselves. One by one each one stated they didn’t know what happened to her. Eclipsa then turned to the MHC, with Omnitraxus floating forward.

“I would like to state we were given a direct order as part of an agreement with your government that prevents us from talking about this. We will need another direct order from you Queen Moon before we talk about this.”

Truth

“Verry well, consider it be given Omni.”

He then nodded before turning to Eclipsa.

“Your Mewmin husband Shastacan made a deal with us when his forces found and brought your daughter to him.”

The hologram changed to Shastacan pushing a large wheelbarrow filled with books, artifacts, and a baby lying on the top of the pile.

“In exchange for turning over all the dark magic books, artifacts, and research you left behind when you abdicated, we would take Eclipsa far away from Mewni to a place where she would never be seen again.”

A Holographic Heckapoo and Rhombulus appeared and took the wheelbarrow from the king. Heckapoo cradled the baby while Lekmet wheeled the rest away.

Heckapoo then took over talking. “After I got the baby, I dropped her off at St. Olgas School for Wayward Princesses.”

The holo-Heckapoo was then seen dropping the baby off with a female robot.

“That was the last time I saw her.”

Moon then turned to the MHC. “Where did Festivia come from then?”

Rhombulus raised his hand. “He mentioned that he just went to an orphanage on Pie Island, picked up a baby girl, and made a deal with me. I help provide all the documentation to prove she was his and Eclipsa’s daughter, and he allows us to seal Eclipsa’s chapter in the Book of Spells.”

Eclipsa’s face scrunched up in rage. “He had no right-“

INNCORECT!

Eclipsa cringed away from the red light emitting from the Box. Rhombulus turned to face Eclipsa.

“Technically, he was the ruling monarch of the kingdom when you left before the houses chose a proper replacement for you. As such, he had the right to do this. It also helped that it directly ended a brewing civil war and made sure the most powerful magical artifact in the universe stayed where it could easily be monitored.”

Eclipsa turned to the box, which just flashed green in response. Lady Flowers then spoke up.

“As unethical as this is, technically it isn’t illegal. As the ruling monarch at the time, he did have the right to present an heir if the other houses agreed to it. He might have lied, but given that the houses were about to go to war and the Monsters were pushing hard, I can see where he was coming from. He might have also not lied about it to them, only the peasants. The houses could have just gone along with it to keep the peace. Anyway, it is Star’s turn to ask a question.”

Star took a deep breath and stood up. “What were the circumstances of Eclipsa’s crystallization, given that there wasn't a trial and she couldn’t have been doing anything that was threatening since she couldn’t do magic without the wand?”

Rhombulus began to fidget at that. “I did that because she was doing dark magic again.”

You are lying!

The box then glowed red, followed by the walls of the building also glowed red before turning into a large cube.

“What is happening? I told the truth!”

Are you sure about that?

Heckapoo and Omni both turned to look at Rhombulus in annoyance as the walls slightly closed in on them.

“The Box doesn’t make mistakes like that. What did you do?”

“Um, c’mon, Rhombulus, spit it out!”

Rhombulus began to sweat as the walls began to close in on them. The nobles began to panic and banged on the walls.

“This isn’t good.”

Rhombulus began to make crystals in a futile effort to stop the room from closing more. They shattered as soon as they made contact with the walls.

“Moon, shut it off.”

“I can’t do that. We all took the oath! Rhombulus, I am giving you a royal order to reveal what secrets you are keeping for the Butterfly kingdom.”

Rhombulus then clutched his head in a panic. “Oh, no. Okay, I’m done! Lekmet did it!”

Truth!

The walls then disappeared, with the room reverting to how it was before. Everyone was now looking at Rhombulus in shock.

“What?”

“It can’t be. Lekmet is the sweetest being in the universe.”

Omni just sighed at that. “The one you knew was. Remember, he becomes a different person every time he dies. The one that was around when during Eclipsa’s reign was a piece of work.”

Rhombulus then slumped in shame. “He and Shastacan were long-time poker buddies. After he found out that the Prince of Darkness ate him, he got really mad, swearing vengeance against all he saw as responsible. I decided to freeze you first to protect you from his wrath.”

“Why didn’t you tell us?”

Rhombulus turned to look at Heckapoo. “He might have been Solaria in goat form, but he was still our brother. It's my job to protect us, even from ourselves and each other. I figured that if I just got rid of Eclipsa and made a big show of her being punished for her crimes, it would calm him down.”

He then chuckled. “It even worked. He got his revenge on the Prince of Darkness, Meteora was far away, and you were crystalized. He began to calm down, and in 100 years he died and was replaced by another version of himself.”

He then turned to Eclipsa. “As for why I didn’t uncrystalize you afterward, you did still break multiple rules about the use of dark magic to the degree that threatened to destroy your dimension. I had no reason to think that you wouldn’t go right back to them the second you got a chance. And if a trial happened, what Lekmet did would come out and possibly cause him to relapse. The best thing I could think of was to just keep her crystalized and let everyone think she was crystalized for doing dark magic.”

The courtroom kept staring at Rhombulus with annoyance, anger, and pity (from his siblings). The Box then spoke up.

Eclipsa has been found guilty of crimes against Mewmanity, magic, and the multiverse, however, due to her imprisonment without charges and a gross miscarriage of justice carried out against her by Rhombulus.

It stared right at Rhombulus while saying so, who proceeded to pull up his hood.

She will be granted a pardon for the MHC’s charges. As for the Butterfly Kingdom’s charges-“

“Excuse me, Mr. Box?”

The Box turned to face Star, who was raising her hand.

“We have evidence that Meteora might still be alive and going by Miss Heinus.”

…

“WHAT!?!”

The courtroom exploded into chaos as everyone yelled over each other for several minutes.

“Miss. Heinous is a Butterfly?”

“How is she still alive?”

“We were planning to send our princess to be tutored by a monster?”

“What is she planning?”

“I love yelling!”

SILENCE!

Everyone stopped at once as the box flashed a bright green for several seconds. IT then shows its light back on Star, nodding for her to continue.

 “Thank you. We know it is here because her bookcase of her scrolls in the Royal Archives is still glowing and they are referring to her as Miss. Heinous now.“

“What were you doing there? those are forbidden!”

Eclipsa turned to look at Omni. “Yeah, why is that? It was free for the queens to look at our royal archives in my time.”

“It was made forbidden under the order of Festivia’s daughter Crescenta. She was looking through it and found out about being descended from Pie Folk. As such, she put a lot of effort to cover it up for as long as possible.”

Heckapoo rolled her eyes at that. “Yeah. She was a massive control freak.”

Star then resumed her question.

“As I was saying, we have reason to believe she is planning something right now. Would assigning Eclipsa community service and having us help with stopping her plan be enough of a punishment for her?”

Here is my judgment. Eclipsa will help investigate and potentially stop Miss Heinous’s plan. You will bring me updates on what the plan is, and I will use that to determine how much of her sentence this will count. If Eclipsa doesn’t end up doing anything, she will be executed. The more she does to help and the worse the plan turns out to be, the more the sentence will be reduced. Understood?

Star nodded. “I will get back to you the second we find out what she is planning to do.”

The box nodded and spoke one final time.

This concludes the trial. Although if we’re all being honest here, it seems like y’all still have some issues to deal with.

The box then shifted back to its original form and fell into Moon’s hand.

“So it was just as we suspected.”

“WHAT?!”

“Uh, Moon?”

Moon then walked down towards Eclipsa.

“We knew there was something missing from our family’s history. Eclipsa’s daughter should have been recorded here.” She then pulled out the official history book of the Butterfly Family. “But she’s gone.”

Rhombulus gasped. “Wait a minute. This whole trial was a set-up?!”

Moon shook her head. “No, the trial was very real. However, we were also using it to find out and expose what happened 300 years ago. The only way we could do that was to get the only beings that were around then under oath of the Box of Truth.”

“You were planning this all along!”

“Actually, we all planned this.”

Star then stepped down to stand by her mother and Eclipsa.

“We thought you might be hiding something. And it turns out we were right.”

Star glared at the MHC

“You lied to our family for generations. You let us live a lie. We shouldn’t even have the throne. Eclipsa isn’t even… wait.” She then turned to face Eclipsa. “you aren’t actually my great-great-great-great-something-grandma.”

Eclipsa signed and grabbed Star’s hands. “Star, I am going to tell you some things and I want you to listen. This is very important.”

She then took a deep breath. “I might not actually be your grandma, but that doesn't mean I don’t care about you like you were. Family doesn’t start or end with blood, but rather with love.

“As for your family not deserving the throne, that is complete bullshit.”

“Eclipsa!”

“What, she has heard worse. Did your family do horrible things to the monsters? Yes, they did, but it was nothing compared to what my mother Solaria did to them and what happened to them under my rule despite my best attempts. I gave up the throne and left it to the nobles to decide who would be queen after me. They chose to make your family the new royal house, and you have been ruling for 7 generations, going on 8. The throne is yours, and you have been proving that it should go to you for as long as I have known you.”

Star teared up at that before wrapping her in a big hug.

“Well, as inspiration as that was, we still need to figure out what to do about Miss Heinous, Meteora, or whatever her name is.”

Moon then walked over to the nobles. “Lady Forst, gather your scouts. Have them search the forest for any sign of her and have them report back on her activities. As soon as we know where she is, we will take steps to get involved.

“Meeting adjourned.”

The nobles then walked out of the room, leaving Star and Eclipsa embracing with Moon looking over them.

2313 words for this chapter, with a total word count among the 3 chapters of 7,423 words total on one re-write of a 10:40 episode.

As I have stated before, the biggest issue I have with Eclipsa is that while she is portrayed as being pro-monster she doesn't seem to be that good at being a queen in general and doesn’t care about her mewmin subjects.

Also, as I have mentioned here, there is no reason Star’s family shouldn't be considered royalty.

Thoughts on Globgor?

I love him. I think he’s incredibly sweet, kind, genuine, and one of the best dads and husbands of all of Mewni. Eclipsa picked a good one. He’s certainly, no doubt intensely flawed and has some things to make up for in his past, and especially some biases he needs to overcome, but he’s willing to adapt and make changes. He’s so sweet and I adore him.

I’m glad the show didn’t make him a villain, would’ve added to the disgusting trend of Monsters continually being villainized. He’s such a genuine character who allowed love to bring out the best side of him, and I don’t blame him one bit for eating the fucker who gave away his daughter to a robot. A robot who proceeded to torment an innocent child for years by making her repress her individuality and both her monster and butterfly traits.

Good, solid character I wish we could’ve seen more of (and got more of his history explained throughly). You could call me a confident Globgor stan, despite his shortcomings and flaws. He feels like the type to eventually confront his biases and improve himself to be better, all he needs is a nudge.

This is something I brought up back when the Season 3 finale first aired, back on Reddit, but one thing I couldn’t help but notice is that, before she decides to let Eclipsa keep the Wand, Star glances over at what she assumed was the remains of Meteora. And then, when she realizes Meteora is still alive (albeit now as a baby), she has this reaction that really makes it seem like she’s regretting her decision, something that is kind of compounded with Marco asking what she did when Eclipsa leaves with baby Meteora, and just feels like it’s supposed to be solidified when Glossaryck tells Star and Marco that now that Eclipsa has the Wand and her daughter, she’s going to be with her Monster husband. Something that is treated like it’s not a good thing, considering Glossaryck claims he’d been trying to tell them for months about it happening. 

I really do wonder if, had Star known Meteora was still alive, and/or known that Globgor was still around and Eclipsa planned on eventually freeing him, would she have handed over the Wand and Kingdom? Or, at least, done so permanently? I could definitely see her maybe doing something like naming Eclipsa as her regent and effectively letting her be the one to make the ruling decisions while Star was looking for Moon or something.

I started rewatching svtfoe cause I had only seen up to season 3 and I didn't hate season 4 until the last couple episodes.

I love the stuff with Eclipsa and her monster husband and daughter. though I have my issues with some of that stuff.

I think I can still enjoy the series even with all the flaws. I'm just gonna pretend the last couple episodes don't exist lol

I have no idea why i am talking about this but had random impulse to say anything. I don’t think what i’ll be saying is actually what I believe in, maybe it’s a random thing, my mind is always wandering. Maybe some people will judge me but i no longer care tbh.

Reasons why I ship Ludoffee:

- Nostalgia. Perhaps my longing for old days and that ships takes me closer to those days that felt better back then. Pretty much personal selfish thing. It’s like keeping an old stuffed animal from childhood , to give the analogy.

- Both are villains whose stories were not fullly realized in canon.

- A cool composed and self-restrained man in a suit likes a short and emotional awkward guy - it’s kind of cute. (ok not “kind of”.. deep down I like this dynamic because that difference is kind of wholesome)

- Many ways to explore the dynamic in unusual ways (aka the “stereotyped as incompetent” guy turns out to be more emotionally mature in ways the cool guy isnt and can do great things which impresses the “cool” guy)

- Its pretty much Venomous and Boxman but as monsters.. (if they were not the way they were in canon)

- There was a lot of canon detail in season 1 (confirmed liking from Ludo toward Toffee. But uh, it wasn’t actually great tbh (including Ludo’s attitude; if Toffee were not manipulative and geniunely worked for him Ludo would be the problematic one I feel))

I kinda ship Eclipsafee, but the reason I do is probably because I thought that Eclipsa would date him and her personality would go in interesting ways with his. It’s also kind of a “sweet x goth” dynamic which is like a blueprint for a cool ship (”is toffee the goth and Eclipsa is sweet or Eclipsa is sweet and Toffee is goth?” - yes) .

- They Both give off a vibe “cool uncle or aunt”. Both are grown adults who seem mature (but aren’t)

- Making up their banter and dialogue would be fun (one is gloomy and other is sassy)

- A “used to know each other in teens years and met again years later and found out how much they changed” dynamic is cool. + Potential for writing: changes caused them to develop new perspectives on one another.

- Dark purple + dark purple

- Eclipsa could bond with Toffee because she was seen as monster too

- A dynamic where they don’t end up together because Eclipsa has her true love Globgor sounds interesting as well. All hail lone Toffee (a cool mysterious man in a suit who is not married and is single and likes it that way but sometimes stares at a lady he used to love and her husband being happy.). Also it’d be bittersweet to headcanon (in an au, Not canon) that Eclipsa does have some feelings for Toffee despite her living her new life fully.

I used to avoid it at all costs for reasons i have already said in past. Mainly bc of second had embarrassment and fear that it will sink. But after everything ended I felt more free in trying to look at it.

- I wouldnt ship them as a royal Butterfly family but I would ship them as rivals from different peoples who stayed that way but somehow changed their views on one another.

- I would rather ship them in an au where Toffee didn’t kill Moon’s mother. But still.. I may be hated for this but I’ve seen dynamics where one character killed other’s parent and still at the end they made amends and worked out as a team. So I don’t know. I understand that in Moon’s case her mother’s death greatly affected her and I have hard time seeing her ever forgiving that so its better to make an au where Toffee had nothing to do with it.

- The fact that Toffee can be drawn in Moon’s color palette is kind of sus.. Their palettes are almost the same..

- I always liked to associate Toffee with the moon (not Moon Butterfly but.. moon, the moon) and water. And knowing that water is associated with the moon, it feels almost symbolic in my imagination that he would look interesting with Moon (even as a platonic duo)

- They are.. pretty similar (both are leaders who are ready to become the devil for their own people and who want to keep their status at all costs). Also in canon they turned into less likable characters at the end.

- Funny headcanon of mine: Many monsters liked to call Toffee “Moony” and that caused a lot of confusion and some monsters ( and Toffee  as well ) thought they mockingly called him after Moon Butterfly - a princess they all hated. But in reality “Moony” among monsters means “Lunatic who is dependant on the moon”, so they mockingly called him a lunatic who is obsessed with Moon (by obsession I mean that Toffee couldnt let go of resentment and remembered what Moon did to him)

“Oh hello general Moony”

“It’s Toffee. I am Not like that mewman princess”

“No, I dont mean Moon. I mean Moony.”

- In all honesty I dont want to ship them in canon universe. I’d ship them if they were not as violent to one another and had to unite against greater threat. (i.e. they both disagreed with their bosses and superiors and bonded over that. Also a nice potential for them changing their views on each others’ kind and learning that the other is not evil)

After the 15-minute break

Once the last noble returned to their place, Moon slammed her gavel down.

“I hereby call the trial to order.”

The Box of Truth rose back into the air from its resting place and showed a bright light down beneath it.

“Mewnisters, it is your turn now to ask questions.”

Lady Jassmine Flowers stood up first and walked down to the light.

“Ex-queen Eclipsa. Did you abandon your husband, King Shastakan, and abdicate your throne to elope with a monster?”

As she asked this question, a holographic portrait of the event occurred, ending with a holo-monster standing in front of Eclipsa.

“Oh, hello, sweetie. Yes, I did run off with a monster. But could you really blame me? How could I resist a smile like that? Also, I made sure all the paperwork for abdication was filled and left where the relevant Mewnisters could find it in the morning when I ran off into the night. My wand was left on the Book of Spells on the throne. I even left a note saying they could pick whoever they wanted to replace me! I made sure that they would have no reason to come after me for doing that beyond loving a monster.”

Jasmin nodded before heading back to her spot. She was replaced by Lady Marine Waterson.

“Eclipsa, when you were in contact with the Prince of Darkness, your monster husband and one of the leaders of the monsters, did you ever divulge state secrets or anything that they could use against the kingdom you swore an oath to protect?”

Eclipsa opened her mouth as she was about to answer before stopping to think.

“There was that time I found out that an assassin was being sent after him. And the time I told him about a medic convoy and asked him to make sure it wasn’t attacked. I also gave him the location of a few forts and ambushes so he and his forces could avoid them.”

She continued for a few minutes, listing several more things she had told him before running out.

“I would like to mention that I only talked to him about this stuff when I thought it would prevent people from dying, and that is the only way he used it apart from killing the assassin who tried to kill him first.”

She then walked back to the booth to be replaced by Lord Falcon Redbird.

“Eclipsa, please describe your opinion of your Mewman husband King Shastacan.”

Eclipsa scowled at that. “He was a spoiled pig that I was in an arranged marriage with. It was set up by my mother in her will to ‘show solidarity between the mewman kingdoms.’ We went through the ceremony and acted like roommates. Unfortunately, he began to grow feelings for me. I told him point blank multiple times about how I did not like him like that and never showed that I liked him. The only reason I didn’t annul the marriage after my gruncle Jushtin married into the Spiderbites himself was that I decided to just abdicate the throne instead.”

Lord Falcon nodded before walking back to the booth. He was replaced by Lord Jordan Fields.

“How did King Shastacan and half the Spiderbite kingdom die in a single day?”

Eclipsa cringed at that. “My monster husband ate him while rampaging through the kingdom while searching for our daughter.”

She then sighed and looked downwards in a depressed manner. “Mewman blood has an intoxicating effect on Size Shifters like my husband. After he ate Shastacan in a rage, the rest was a mix of searching for her, defending himself, and going on a bender to deal with the pain of losing her.”

Lord Jordan blinked at that. “Really? Mewman blood does that? Are there any other monsters that have the same effect?”

He cringed before heading back to the bench.  Lord Percy McKnight marched forward with his hand on his sheathed sword hilt.

“You’re majesty, did you remove the option to pay for taxes by serving in the military?”

Eclipsa steadied herself before looking him in the eye.

“Yes, I did. As I said, I tried everything to get the government to stop the war. They wouldn’t listen to anything else I tried, so I went with this to reduce the number of people who were killing monsters. I kept it off for 3 years before I abdicated the throne.”

She then shrugged. “Unfortunately, it didn’t stop them from fighting. I have no idea how Lord Arthur was able to convince so many to continue to fight for him.”

Lord Percy stared at her with contempt before turning to Lady Ruby and waving her over as he walked back to the booth.

“Do you know how the taxes were paid in your time and how your decision negatively impacted people?”

Eclipsa shrugged. “Not really. I just let House Stone worry about that.”

Lady Ruby turned to the Box. “Can I explain how this works?”

Due to her ignorance impacting her ability to answer your question, I will allow it.

She nodded before pulling out a scroll, turned back to Eclipsa, and began to read from it. “There are two taxes to focus on. The first is called rent, which is the tax paid to the local nobles who owned the land the peasants were working on. The second is the Teloumenon, which is a household tax paid to the central government. The exact mechanics of how much taxes you have to pay aren’t relevant to this, but there are three ways to pay either of them. Money, the equivalent value in goods, or unpaid labor. The unpaid labor is used for things like building or maintaining government-owned things like roads, being a servant in the castle doing things like shoveling poop, or joining the military.”

She then gestured over to Lord Percy. “Lord Percy can give you a better run down on how the military worked, but it involves forces armed by the nobles themselves and peasants that provided their equipment out of pocket in a levy.

“That equipment is expensive and time-consuming to make and get, so it takes a while to get ready. Most villages will pay both taxes during wartime by giving soldiers for one tax and weapons and armor for the other. Even if they go into debt for it during peace times, most conflicts last long enough that the soldiers and weapons can keep them from paying taxes for a while and allow them to recoup their losses. They might even see a profit if the war goes on long enough like the war against the monsters did.”

Lady Ruby then narrowed her eyes at Eclipsa. “However, when you made it so that peasants couldn’t pay taxes by serving in the military, you also made it so that they had a much harder time paying in weapons and armor. Before when they provided them with the soldiers, they had a very high chance of getting them back after the war to hold onto until the next one. Now, the army either didn’t need the stuff due to manpower shortages or just took them with little incentive to return them to the same village later. This cost the villages very expensive equipment that could take years more to make, and that already put them in debt to provide.

“In a single pen stroke, your plan to reduce the conflict left a large number of peasants into a bind where the method they had planned on paying for their taxes wouldn’t work anymore, and often made it so they couldn’t pay any other way. Lots of families had their possessions seized to make up the difference, leaving them homeless. That combined with a smaller army meant that the monster forces had an easier time hunting down groups of mewmans to kill.”

She looked Eclipsa right in the eye. “In trying to stop the war, you killed and beggared a large number of the people you swore to protect.”

Eclipsa paled at that, looking over to the Box, which just nodded in response to Ruby’s accusations. She eventually composed herself and returned to the bench. Lady Carice Cross walked over to take her place.

“Before I ask my question for the Box to judge, are you ok?”

Eclipsa just looked at her for a moment before blowing her nose. “I am in as good condition as someone in my position could be in. You can continue the questioning.”

She just nodded. “Verry well, my question for you is this. Did you secretly give orders to my ancestor Lord Fredrick orders to covertly send medicine to the monster to combat a plague they were facing, and did you know what happened after they used it?”

Eclipsa scouled at the question. “Yes, I did. That bastard sent them poison instead and killed hundreds. I was trying to build trust with the monsters to hopefully gain enough goodwill to get them to stop the war on their end and make it easier for me to stop it on my end. Instead, it just intensified the fighting.”

That is what she thinks happened, but it isn’t what happened.

Eclipsa just blinked and turned to the Box. “Are you saying-.” Eclipsa cut herself off before turning to Lady Carice with a pleading look.

“Given Lady Ruby could give you context, I believe I can do the same thing.”

You can.

“To make a long and complicated story short, monster biology is different from mewman biology. Medicine and techniques that work on one won’t work on the other. Sometimes it will even be harmful. This is what happened with your medicine. The species you sent them to either had bad reactions and died outright or it had no effect on them.”

She then gave Eclipsa a pitting look. “I know you were only trying to help, but my ancestor did say he tried multiple times to warn you about this.”

Eclipsa’s eyes began to tear up. “Yes, he did. I thought he was just making excuses to not have to treat monsters. And I treated him so horribly afterward. I lost one of the few friends I had in the Mewnistry over my own mistakes.”

Lady Carice walked forward and put a hand on her shoulder. “Hay, it’s ok. You messed up, everyone does it. The important part is that you learn from your mistakes and aim to not repeat them in the future.”

She then backed up and went back to the other nobles. Lady Berenice Firefly walked out to face Eclipsa with the eyes of a teacher about to give an exam.

“Who did you leave your throne and wand to when you abdicated, and how did you reach said decision?”

Eclipsa sighed in relief at that. “Thank you for asking an easy question. As I mentioned before, I left a note saying they could choose whoever they wanted. I did since I did not doubt that they wouldn’t accept anyone I put forward.”

Lady Berenice just continued to stare at her before she nodded and returned to the bench, pushing the last noble forward.

“Finally, this was taking forever and stopped being fun 3 nobles ago.”

“Quiet Star!”

Lady Juniper Forest looked at Eclipsa with annoyance. “Do you know what happened after you left and before Festivia was delivered to us by your husband and how it affected the kingdom?”

Eclipsa shrugged. “No idea whatsoever. I and my husband were more interested in setting up our new life together in hiding, then we were dealing with being new parents, and then I was crystallized.”

You can tell her.

Lady Juniper nodded before she continued. “According to our records, the week immediately following your leaving was filled with arguing over who should be the queen. Every one of the noble's houses has a claim to the throne through one or more of your ancestors. The houses eventually pulled their forces from the front lines to begin getting ready to seize the throne and wand themselves through force.

“The monsters didn’t stop their assault because of this either. Mina is good, but even she has limits when her fellow Solarians decide to back one of the noble houses in the pending war.”

She then got a downcast look on her face. “At the end, there were 9 small armies with about a dozen Solarians each ready to fight over the throne while the last dozen of the Solarians were focused on keeping the monsters from taking too much advantage over the chaos and failing.

“If it wasn’t for your Mewman husband bringing Festivia from the Spiderbite kingdom and providing evidence of you hiding her there to protect her from the nobles and monsters that might try and use her to force your hand, they would have torn the kingdom to shreds.”

Eclipsa turned to the Box.

“I know at least one thing in that statement is wrong, but can you save it for after the last questions are all done?”

2190 words on part two, and Star’s opinion is my own.

As I have said before, I am ok with Eclipsa not being liked for her pro-monster views during an anti-monster time, but she also seemed to be a bad queen. I am trying to go for a “she means well, but has no idea how to be a queen due to her mother caring more about the battlefield and never teaching her how to do that part of royalty and the other nobles work against her agenda.”

As for Globgor getting drunk off mewman blood and the medicine killing monsters, that is just me showing that there is a difference biologically between the Mewmans that goes more than just skin deep. any attempts at equality between Mewmans and Monsters HAS to consider this, and it will be explored more in my future works.

Noble houses are taken from JGSS0109, whose work was deleted due to events I am not comfortable talking about happening. I am still using the nobles because I needed a large number of them to ask the questions and didn’t want to make them all up myself.

I actually had been talking about it with someone, cause sometimes some wives had to deal with their husband's having an affair, what if on Mewni they did similar? By this, I mean queens with their kings. What if some kings had to do with their wife being unfaithful to them? I mean, there's more to it, I doubt Meteora's birth certificate had Shastican's name on it. I just found it off Eclipsa was in shock, but maybe it was because of the hologram. But I mean, at least Shastican did the appropriate thing. I honestly think the half monster thing is what pissed him the most tbh. Because he said she wasn't fit to inherit the kingdom, but then found peasant baby Festivia abandoned and took her in with the ruse she was his and Eclipsa's daughter. I remember reading some au/fic where Eclipsa had Festivia and Meteora and only one girl turned out to be half monster and they described it with how cats can have kittens in the same litter with different fathers.

The timeline of when Festivia was adopted compared to when Shastacan died is really unclear, so I don't know if he ever knew about her. But the way Omnitraxus talks about the situation does make it sound like Shastacan had nothing to do with Festivia being chosen to be the new Queen, possibly implying he was already dead by the time the MHC found her.

I don't think I've read that fic, but I think it's listed as one of the fanworks on the TV Tropes page for the series. I think it's called "The Butterfly Sisters" and yeah, the basic premise does seem to be that Meteora and Fesitivia are both half-sisters, and also twins. Which is something that can happen with humans as well as some animals, though with humans it's quite a bit rarer.
