“You want me to be your boyfriend, huh?” Eddie smirked down at you as if you’d just told him the juiciest of secrets that he could now hold over you till the end of your days.
“I mean, only if you want to, of course,” you averted your gaze to your sweaty palms as they nervously fiddled and tangled in one another, “I don’t wanna–”
But then his fingers found your chin and tilted it up till your eyes met his once more, “baby,” his thumb gently swooped across your skin as he uttered, “I thought I already was.”

☆ The Crawl ☆
rockstar!eddie munson x housewife!afab!reader
CW: 18+ obvs, needy, pathetic sub eddie, dom-ish afab reader, dick riding, cum eating, dirty talkin’ nasty goodness, eddie literally crawling towards us 🫠🫠, facial, implied unprotected p in v sex, dribbler!eddie
author's note: this is my first time writing sub!dribbler!eddie hehehe eds is usually a dom!shooter in my universe. i hope you all enjoy!!! 💌
WC: 686 words
“Need you to have your way with me, sweetheart…need you to use me…Can’t take it anymore. Please."
You meet your husband's desperate gaze as he brushes his stiff cock against your thighs, prodding you for the sensual loving you had promised him when he was to come back from tour.
Craving every inch of your touch, the man is at your mercy. And that damn polaroid picture you sent him a few days ago? The damn polaroid of that pretty pussy of yours, your glistening folds spread apart by your perfectly manicured fingers, the white border holding space for the title, “all for you” signed by your rouge red lipstick? Eddie damn near kicked the tour bus driver out his seat to turn the vehicle back around himself.
But, of course, the show had to go on. And as stoked as Eddie was for Corroded Coffin's Rise of Kas Tour, nothing compares to being with you, wrapped up in your intimacy in the comfort of the home you two share.
And now 385 days later, you two are here.
“Need you to ride me dry…” he pleads. “Need both lips on my cock baby, he’s missed you so much…”
“Nuh uh,” you smirk, enjoying yourself just a little. “Not gonna do away with the flatteries just yet.”
“Fucking please, princess,” Eddie begs. “Been blue-balled all tour, you can’t do this to me.”
“Oh but I can.”
Hellbent and greedy, your smitten, pussy starved husband treads hopelessly towards you on all fours as you guide him to the bedroom.
Too many press photos and interviews. Too many groupies lining up outside the tour bus to claim their spots with Gareth, Grant, and Jeff. And far too many titties to sign, but Eddie knows he shouldn’t refuse, cuz since he built his brand off being a sex-crazed rockstar, rejecting the ladies would mark the end of his — very successful — career.
Too much of tour life on repeat. And never enough of you. And when he finally gets you, the whining only seems to intensify.
Your twinkling, cum-coated tits bounce in Eddie's face as you frantically taunt your clit with his wide, veiny cock. The sight of you tossing your head back, a mewling mess as he splits you open is enough to tug orgasms out of Eddie’s blissfully aching body. And as you clench around him, screams getting louder by the pump, his spewing tip begins to twitch with every jab into your guts.
“Oh baby…shit, mmfuck, ‘m so fucking sensitive baby, you have no idea.”
Your excitement pools at the base of his naval. Knowing he's not going to last all that long, Eddie whimpers at the sight, his photographic conscious saving the episodic eye-sore for a midday work flashback.
“I love you so much,” he moans. Your orgasm begins to splash around him with every bounce. "Missed your beautiful face. Missed your tight fucking pussy."
“I love you, sweet boy,” you hum. “Your dick makes me feel so good, Eddie, fuck. You’re not going anywhere.”
Eddie releases one strained groan before he loses control. Now completely shifting the roles, Eddie pins you into place as he probes for his finish, thrusting into you as the sweat rushes down his body, his full sack beating at your skin as you ride out your last together.
“Fuck baby, yes baby, yes baby,” he pants. “Gonna be the death of me baby, oh fuck…”
And before he completely empties himself in you, Eddie retreats and finishes on your face. He beams down at you in awe as he glazes the hollows of your cheeks, glosses your lips, and caters to the tip of your cum-quenched tongue. Eddie then swoops down to collect his own eager laps, before thanking you with a kiss.
And, to your surprise, when all is said and done, and you’re all wiped down with a nice warm washcloth from the dryer, your husband books it to his office as if there were something else waiting for him behind that door.
“Eds,” you wonder. “What are you doing?”
“I need to write a song.”

Eddie really just couldn’t ever help himself. It wasn’t his fault.
That’s what Eddie chanted repeatedly to himself as he leisurely fingered the elastic band of your cotton panties, the vibrantly colored; animated strawberries decorating the intimate material taunting him whilst you slept peacefully.
Eddie and yourself were currently having one of your many many infamous sleepovers, both of your bodies tucked comfortably underneath your baby pink sheets—your sleep shorts and his distressed Hellfire shirt discarded aimlessly on your bedroom floor. This is how Eddie liked it. He said he felt closer to you like this when he held your sleeping figure from behind, being about to detect the way your ass unmindfully rubbed against the growing tent in his boxers. After all, best friends do stuff like this all the time!
Like when you confided in Eddie about the unknown; frequent ache you got in your tummy whenever you’re in his presence. He nearly came in his pants as you stood looking up at him—glassy tears pooling in your innocent; big eyes and your puffy bottom lip quivering—begging him to help relieve you of the alien feeling you were being subjected to that made your panties sticky. All for him.
Sitting you on his ripped jean-clad knee, he reassured you with a cheeky exclaim of, ‘Of course, doll face. What awful kind of best friend would I be if I didn’t help out my best girl?” all while he rubbed your little button through your drenched underwear until a foreign euphoric bliss engulfed you and the throbbing subsided. His familiar raspy voice flooded your ears with incoherent whispers of how long he’s been waiting to feel your drippy cunt drench his fingers.
Or like tonight, as Eddie’s calloused hand crept underneath your shirt and traveled the warm skin of your abdomen, all the way to your erect nipples. As he rolled the sensitive buds between his thumb and middle finger one at a time, he watched in amusement as your body jumped from the cold sting of his metallic rings when they ‘accidentally’ pumped them.
The overwhelming stimulation caused your once steady breathing to become erratic and your thighs to close tightly around Eddie’s leg that he had simultaneously slipped between them, your hips faintly beginning to rock against the bare skin. Soft; sleepy whines left your parted lips as his trail of sloppy; open mouthed kisses coated your shoulder and the crevice of your neck, waking you from your slumber. “Eddie?”
“Hi, sweetheart. M’sorry, didn’t mean to wake you. Ya’ just look so pretty all laid out for me,” Pushing the duvet of the bed back, Eddie’s greedy palms groped at the meat of your thighs prior to pulling them apart so he could slip between them; sucking and licking the skin of your inner thighs. “Need to taste you, baby. Need to taste you so fucking bad, it hurts. Will you let me, sweetheart? Gonna let your best friend be the first to taste your pretty pussy?”
“Please, Eds. Please, please, please!” Brain fuzzy, your feeble fingers tangled themselves into his messy mane of curls atop his head; attempting to push him further down to where you needed him most. Eddie obliged with a dark chuckle and side comment of what an impatient brat you are because, well, after all…
What are best friends for?

“Good.”
Eddie Munson x female reader
requested by @braindelete
warning for smut, some hitting and light choking. it’s nothing to serious and is pretty short but inexperienced eddie isn’t something i’m very experienced with writing! hope you all like regardless! i’m taking requests.
Tumblr media
It’s not that he wasn’t good, but the poor guy just didn’t know what he was doing, having no experience, and let’s face it, Eddie was extremely awkward in social situations, especially when they turned sexual.
But there was something about being around you that made him feel comfortable, more prone to relax and let his guard down. He didn’t trust easy and he didn’t know why. He assumed maybe it was the way he was raised.
You hadn’t slept with him yet, but you knew he was ready and so were you. You also knew that he hadn’t had much experience, but you didn’t mind taking the reins from him for a night. You thought it might be fun.
Your sitting on his lap, straddling him with hungry lips that stayed attacking the other pair. He’s already hard, aching to be freed from his boxers to feel you. You let him lead, unsure if it will embarrass him if you take control. You know better to straight out ask him how many women he’s slept with, because you’d certainly not answer if he asked you. But you want him to have a good time, and who doesn’t love a woman in charge?
“Lay back.” You husk, smirking through your lashes.
He’s practically melting under you, and quickly lays down on the couch, pulling you atop of him to hover above his hips. Your fluent in the way you kiss each other, and even though he misses a few swipes of his tongue to catch up with yours, you can feel the passion that he’s ready to release.
“Relax.” You run your hands down his chest, reaching his belt. He does as you ask, eyes dark and full of lust as he groans, his hard cock now in your hands. Your lips wrap around it, teasing him only for a minute to get him whimpering.
You toss your panties to the floor, lifting your hips to sink down on him. You both moan in sexual relieve, your bodies already beginning to shake.
You ride him, and you can see how he’s struggling with his moves. “There’s no shame- in learning, oh, Eddie.” You push out. “Let me teach you, huh?”
He gasps when you rock yourself harder, grabbing his hand to put it at the base of your throat. “Squeeze it.” You say. “Play with me. I’m not glass.”
He squeezes your throat, awkwardly, but he does what you say. He hold it’s there, staring at you as he semi chokes you, watching how your eyes glaze over. He’s half worried he’s going to kill you, but the power in his cock, and in his hand, makes him care less.
“Good.” You smile. “Spank me.”
He smacks you without a beat, but it’s a piss poor slap.
You give him a look. You bounce higher, controlling him like a dog. “Do it. I want you to. Impress me.”
He hits you harder that time and you moan. Everything new and sudden has him shaking and groaning, not knowing how much longer he’s going to last.
“Now, fuck me good, Eddie.” You plead.
He reaches up and grabs you, bringing you down so you’re chest to chest, he’s fucking up into you hard and good, just like you ask. And you have no idea what you unleashed.

hi ! i’m obsessed with the idea of best friend!eddie teaching virgin!reader how to give head😭😭 like maybe they’re watching a movie and a sex scene comes on and her having no experience she’s like “i wonder how it feels…does it feel good?” like genuine curiosity and omg he would be so vocal, soft, and instructional i can’t do this-
sorry this took so long!! but i hope you like it🫶🏻
sat on the sofa in his trailer, passing a joint between the two of you as a horror movie plays in the background. eddie hands you the joint, letting the smoke fill the air between you both. you’ve been best friends with eddie for almost your whole lives, so being curled up on his sofa under a blanket while your wearing one of his t-shirts and a pair of panties as he’s wearing his own plaid pyjama bottoms was nothing new.
‘what do you think of the move so far sweetheart?’ eddie asks casually, his arm wrapped around your waist as your head rests on his chest.
‘i really like it’ you say with a smile, finishing the joint and stubbing it out on the ashtray he keeps on the coffee table ‘i like the movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, makes it much more enjoyable’
eddie hums in agreement, his nose pressed to your head as you cuddle, taking in the scent of your shampoo. he knows it’s wrong to be harbouring these kind of feelings about his best friend, but there’s just something about you that makes him feel weak at the knees. he’s enjoying the moment of being close to you, when he starts to hear faint moans coming from the tv. he looks up, the main character of the movie having sex with her longtime boyfriend, he laughs.
‘literally the number one rule in a horror movie, if you fuck, you die’ he says with a laugh, looking down at you and watching your reaction to the scene unfolding. just as the main character climaxes, you turn to him.
‘does that feel, good?’ you ask, buzzed enough from the weed that your not entirely realising that your telling your best friend you have never had an orgasm. eddie feels his cheeks flush slightly and his cock stir involuntarily at the thoughts your question filled his mind with.
‘does what feel good? sex?’ he asks, slightly confused.
‘no, not sex, having an orgasm’ you say, looking back at the tv screen. eddies eyes widen at the realisation.
‘you’ve never had an orgasm?’ he asks, shocked ‘not even by yourself’
‘no, i mean i’ve tried but i can’t ever get myself to finish’ you say softly, feeling slightly embarrassed ‘does it feel good though?’ eddies mind is racing, partly because of the thoughts of you trying to touch yourself and not being able to cum.
‘uh- yeah it does feel good, like really good’ he says, clearing his throat so his voice does not make him sound as horny as he is.
‘have you ever made a girl cum before?’ you ask him, chewing on your bottom lip as you look up at him through long lashes.
‘yeah- a few times’
‘can you show me how you do it?’ you ask, the words falling out your mouth before you can stop them, his eyes widening and breathing becoming more laboured at your proposition ‘oh! not like that, like can you show me how you do it, like acting it out or something?’ you say shyly. eddie is sure he is dreaming, there is no way his beautiful best friend is asking him to explain him to show her how to cum, so she can then go home and touch herself using what he taught her. no- he shouldn’t be getting off on this, your his friend and friends ask each other for help, but he can’t deny that your innocence isn’t making him want to completely ruin you.
‘yeah, sure i can’ eddie replies, shifting on the sofa to turn so he’s facing you, holding one of his palms up ‘so, you know where your pussy is, but your clit is up higher, it’s that little bud right at the top, about here’ he says, using his other hand to point to the top of his outstretched palm.
‘the mistake a lot of people make is applying way too much pressure, or not going slowly enough’ he continues.
‘how do you find the right speed and pressure though?’ you ask curiously ‘i always find that i either can’t feel anything or i feel so much it hurts’
‘well the pussy and clit aren’t the only places a person can feel pleasure, working yourself up first can help with that kind of thing’ he says, clearing his throat as he tries not to picture you with your hand down your panties when your home alone.
‘working myself up how?’
‘uh- teasing yourself, playing with your nipples, teasing yourself over your panties’ eddie replies, looking at you with flushed cheeks and dilated pupils ‘taking things slowly with yourself until your really desperate, can feel how much you need it, it’ll help’
‘okay, that makes sense’
‘you’ll want to start on the outside, working on your clit, but when you get wet enough you can try putting a finger inside yourself. it’ll be tight, but you want to curl your finger till you find a spongy spot, and you want to hit that again and again, that’s your gspot’
‘can you make someone cum just using their gspot?’ you ask, your face mirroring his own desire.
‘yeah, you can, but most women need some kind of clitoral stimulation to cum too, so using both hands to work different areas would most likely help’ he says, noticing that your squeezing your thighs together, cheeks slightly flushed- were you, turned on by this?
‘i have such short fingers though’ you say, placing your palm against his to show the clear size difference ‘i don’t know if mine could reach that far inside’ you say with a small pout. eddie clears his throat, trying to think about anything other than how close you both were and the image of you fingering yourself that was now playing on repeat in his head.
‘right- uh, i guess that could be a problem’ he says, eyes locked onto yours, face subconsciously moving closer to yours.
‘eddie’ you say softly, fingers now intertwined with his ‘can you show me’ you ask, voice barley above a whisper.
‘are you asking what i think your asking?’ he says breathlessly, nose bumping against yours as you are drawn to each other.
‘yes, can you show me how to make myself cum’ you whisper, and that’s all the confirmation that eddie needed before his lips were on yours. years of pent up feelings are pouring out of him as he kisses you, he desperately tried to remember everything about how you feel against him incase this never happens again. he reluctantly pulls away, turning you round so your back is flush against his chest as he sits on the sofa.
‘can i take these off sweetheart?’ he asks, voice thick with desire as he tugs at your borrowed shirt.
‘please’ you whisper, he pulls the fabric off your body, leaving you in just a pair of panties. he feels like he could cum in his pants just from looking at you, the way your back is pressed to him, your tits on full display for him as he takes in your almost naked form.
‘we’re gonna start with working you up, okay angel?’ he says sweetly, lips finding their way to your neck as his hands run up and down your stomach, occasionally grabbing your hips and giving them a squeeze. the feel of his lips on your neck and his hands finally on you after all this time, you let out a breathy moan which makes eddies already hard cock impossibly harder. he slowly reaches up and starts gently touching your boobs, tracing your nipples with his thumb as his mouth finds its way to your earlobe, gently biting it. your back is arching, head falling back against his shoulder as his name falls from your lips like a prayer. your squirming now, bucking your hips up as he tugs on one of your nipples as you let out an almost pornographic moan.
‘eddie, please’ you moan desperately, breathing now laboured as he touches you everywhere but the place you need him most. he takes your panties off, slipping them down your legs as he lets out a groan at the sight of you now naked against him.
‘okay sweetheart, give me your hand’ he says, voice heavy with lust as you place the back of your hand against the palm of his ‘good girl, now your gonna touch yourself, and i’m gonna help guide you with my hand like this okay?’
‘please’ you whisper, your hand moving down your stomach and towards your aching pussy. your fingers catch on your clit, making you gasp at the sensation, his hand still firmly placed against yours, guiding each movement. he starts with small, soft circles on your clit, your already whining and moaning at the feeling- you didn’t know it could feel this good. he can hear just how wet you are, each circle of your clit with your finger making a soft squelching noise from just how turned on you were, making his cock strain even more against his pyjama pants- but this isn’t about him, it’s about you. he slowly starts to increase the pace of his hand against yours, speeding up the movements of your fingers against your clit.
‘eddie, feels so good, didn’t know it could feel so good’ you pant, head thrown back on his shoulder as your eyes squeeze shut, cheeks flushed from arousal.
‘i know baby, your doing so well’ he says softly, using his free hand to gently stroke your hair before moving his fingers down to your neglected nipples.
‘fuck- something feels, different’ you say through a moan, hips now grinding against your own (and also his) hand as your breath comes out in short gasps.
‘it’s okay sweetheart, you gonna cum? your doing so well, you can cum’ he says, coxing your orgasm out of you with each brush of your nipple and circle of your clit. the coil in your stomach burst, crying out as you grind your pussy desperately against your fingers, crying out his name as slick gushes from you. eddie can’t stop himself now, he’s all but humping your back, desperate for any kind of release now your cumming. you cum down from your orgasm, head fuzzy from the pleasure. he softly removes his hand from yours, moving it to your jaw to lift your chin upwards so your looking at him.
‘you did so good angel, so fucking good’ he says breathlessly, kissing you again.
‘eddie’ you mumble against his lips ‘can you show me how to touch a dick now?’
‘fuck’

Working in the Hawkins Town Library, you got to be in the presence of almost everybody who lived there, from the youngest readers to the eldest. Everyone needed books for one reason or another, let it be homework research, recipes or just some entertainment. There were the quiet readers who settled themselves somewhere in a corner to spend the rest of the day with their noses in between the pages; the ones who search for hours for the one book they had their mind set on the moment they walked in; the ones that, for whatever reason, forget to stay silent. There were fans of fantasy as well as historical non-fiction, philosophy and romance. There was a place for everybody here.
With such a variety in patrons, it was only natural you grew to have favourites. Some might be more self-explanatory than others. Of course, your heart doubled when Julie came in with her daughter, Sandy [who just turned six!], to pick out a new book every few weeks. Or old man Farrell who already knew all the facts in the books he checked out and was more than happy to share with you.
It could come to most people as a shock then that the person you looked forward to seeing the most was none other than Eddie Munson.
Surprisingly, he could be the definition of the perfect library patron. Besides the fact that he had never been late with book returns, when you started working there, the first few times Eddie came by, he scared you to death—so quiet was he, sneaking around the aisles and up to the counter to check his stacks of books out.
‘Sorry, didn’t mean to scare ya there, sweetheart,’ he said as he put the books on the desk.
‘It’s alright.’ You started picking up books from the pile, stamping in the date on the inside sheet. ‘Might have to consider getting a bell.’ You smiled, ‘that way I could hear you coming.’
‘Hmm, too bad I don’t have a bell.’ Eddie clicked his tongue but reached into one of his pockets, ‘but… would these do?’ He pulled out a handful of thin metal chains. They rattle around.
‘Why do you have those in your pocket?’ You asked curiously as you gave him back the books.
‘Always have them on me– I mean, on my jeans, but I take them off when I’m hear. Don’t want to disturb anyone.’ And with that, he gave you a shy little smile that made your heart melt.
‘That is, actually, really sweet of you.’ If only more people were so considerate. ‘Thank you.’
‘Yeah, well, I have my moments.’ He shrugged nonchalantly. ‘I’ll see you around.’
‘See ya.’ You waved as he walked away, barely able to contain the smile on your face that the metalhead had caused.
Not a lot changed since that day, but your and Eddie’s conversations did begin to grow. You’d keep on talking while you checked out his books, sometimes for so long that another patron would have to interrupt to get their books. Then, Eddie would pop by your desk to ask for the location of some particular book— one you had never heard of, in all honesty, but he probably easily could have found it if he bothered to look through the cards.
‘Excuse me, sweetheart,’ he’d clear his throat, ‘do you have any idea where I could find Carrots Love Tomatoes?’
‘Sorry?’ You must have misheard the title.
‘Carrots Love Tomatoes: Secrets of Companion Planting for Successful Gardening. It’s for my uncle.’ Eddie would clarify, reading the title out from a scrap of paper he had scribbled on.
‘Right. Do you know who it’s by, perchance?’
‘I’m surprised you don’t.’ He reread the paper. ‘Louise Riotte– shit, I’m definitely mispronouncing that.’ He quickly spelt it out for you.
Well, you had to admit, you weren’t personally familiar with Miss Riotte’s work, but you knew this library inside-out and told Eddie to follow you into the section you thought it most likely to be. The non-fiction section was off in the corner of the library, with only rectangular windows blocks near the ceiling, letting in barely any daylight. The light was, instead, coming from the lamps above you; they flickered and buzzed on the off-moments.
Eddie stayed a step behind you as you navigated through the shelves, muttering the alphabet to yourself repeatedly as you tried to find the RI– shelf. Once you finally found it, you realised it was on the top of the bookcase, where you couldn’t reach it.
‘It’s up there.’ You pointed, thinking that maybe Eddie would just get it himself now. But instead, Eddie offered to pick you up. A bit flustered, you accepted the offer and tried to ignore the feeling of his hands on your hips, the way his rings dug into your soft skin. He picked you up, and you grabbed the book quickly. Once back down on the ground again, you handed it over to him. Eddie thanked you with a large smile as he looked at the book.
He frowned.
‘Something wrong?’ You asked.
‘No, no, it’s all good, thanks. It’s just that…I don’t know…’ He looked at the book a bit longer. ‘Oh, you know what? I think I must have read it wrong.’ He looked down at the scrap of paper again. ‘...yeah. That definitely says Catcher in the Rye. Well, thank you anyway, sweetheart. Really ‘preciate it.’
‘You’re an idiot, Eddie Munson.’ You laughed.
‘Uhm, I’ll have you know,’ he leaned against the bookcase by your side, ‘that this had actually all been an act of sheer brilliance.’
‘Oh?’ You were leaning against it, too, your shoulders almost touching.
‘Yes. I would say that the way I got you here with me, away from all those people, is MacGyver-level brilliance.’
‘Don’t you think it might have been easier to just… I don’t know, just ask me to meet you here.’ You would have been going on a break soon anyway.
Eddie grinned as he leaned forward to you, ‘Now, what would be the fun in that?’ You could feel his breath on you. The scent of excessive bubblegum chewing greeted you.
‘Fair enough,’ you tried to act cool, ignoring the hot flashes he was causing all over your body. ‘So, why did you want me to come out here? What couldn’t wait until my lunch break, Munson?’
‘Just wanted to say how cute you looked today.’ Eddie smiled, then, as if he remembered something– ‘Oh, and this–’ he leaned in, cupping your face in his hand, kissing you softly.
So, perhaps, some things had changed over time. Smalltalk and jokes at the front desk turned into stolen kisses and hushed laughter in the dark corners of the library. Just as with everything around, Eddie was gentle and soft. His grip on you was there for support, to make you feel how much he wanted you near him.
You pulled away with a small gasp, chest-beating fast, eyes fluttering open.
‘But I suppose I could have waited with that.’ Eddie said afterwards, his hand still on your cheek.
‘I’m glad you didn’t.’ Your voice was hushed, but you kissed Eddie deeply instead of breathing in the air you needed. You pulled at his shirt to bring him closer, and his other hand reached for your waist, tugging at the hem of your shirt.
‘You should probably get back,’ he muttered between kisses.
‘Probably,’ you replied. Neither of you meant any of it, and you both knew it. You had no idea why you only saw each other at the library. Maybe because you always knew to find each other here; it was a certainty. Outside, it would be a mere coincidence to bump into Eddie. Here, you knew he would be here every week.
Maybe because it felt like a haven for both of you and it felt like a different reality—an escape from the real world. But it was precisely this that made everything else so fragile. Who knew what it would be like outside of these bookshelves? You didn’t want to know, so why risk it? What you had now, it was an unspoken agreement. One you both were more than happy with. It was special—a rarity.
Everything- the kiss, the hold, the emotions, the heat- all intensified the longer you kept going. It was getting messy and rough. Eddie had locked you in between him and the bookcase. You could feel him all over you. His hair tickling your face, his cold rings on your skin, his clothes pressing into you, his— fuck, he was huge. You could feel him against your thigh, no hiding it.
‘Fuck, I’ve been thinking about this the whole week.’ He breathed against your neck. ‘Haven’t stopped thinking about you.’ You would have told him the same if you could form an entire sentence. It was hard to concentrate daily when you had the memory of his touch plague you every day, and everything around you at your job was a heavy reminder.
‘Need… I need you, Eddie,’ you gasped out as he kissed your neck, right on the spot that made your knees go weak. ‘Please.’
‘Hmm, need you too, sweetheart.’ He was roaming his hand over your bare thigh underneath your skirt. Sometimes you wondered if anyone around had noticed that you really only wore them on days of Eddie’s library visits. Perhaps Eddie hadn’t picked up on that specifically, but he certainly enjoyed your style. ‘Drive my fucking wild in these short skirts of yours.’ The words rolled out of his mouth as he began unzipping his jeans. ‘Look so fucking good.’
‘Thank you,’ you moaned, giggling about how giddy you felt that he was complimenting you while preparing to thrust his dick in you. It was all so silly, so stupid. You were doing something incredibly risky, most likely illegal, but you couldn’t care one bit. All you could think about was how good he made you feel. How happy you felt with him.
‘C’mere,’ Eddie groaned, pulling you up by your thighs, holding you against the shelves. Luckily, they were pretty sturdy, bolted to the ground, so his force pushing you against them barely mattered. On you, however, it was another story.
‘Oh, fuck,’ you whimpered, trying to stay quiet at the feeling of him inside you. After letting you adjust quickly, he started thrusting in you hard and deep. The way he was moving against you, it made your whole body shake. You could feel your glasses slip down your nose. In the haze of it all, you had forgotten to take them off but were about to do so– when Eddie interrupted.
‘No, keep them on.’ He kissed your cheek.
‘Why?’ you didn’t see a reason for them.
‘Want you to see me fucking you.’ His smile was airy. ‘Besides, it’s hot as shit. The way you get so messy for me. And your hair,’ he punctuated each sentence with a deep thrust. One of his hands brushed some of your hair out of your face, ‘I wish I could take a picture of you right now. Would cum to it like every day.’
‘Gross.’ You joked, and in return, Eddie grazed his teeth over your collarbone, nipping at your skin slightly.
‘Calling me gross as if you’re not getting fucked in the middle of the library.’ Eddie’s smile was contagious. As he continued, your glasses were falling again, but he quickly pushed them back over the bridge of your nose. ‘You’re fucking filthy, sweetheart.’
‘I’m–’ you gasped as he went deeper.
‘Yeah, baby?’
‘I’m– I’m close, Eddie.’ You tried to whisper as best as you could, biting down on any noises that could be heard from afar.
‘Mmm, I know, you’re so tight. So perfect.’ he moaned through his last hard thrusts. You could feel your climax coming, knew how it would come, and quickly hid your face in the nape of his neck to muffle your scream of pleasure as it washed over you. Eddie rode it out with you, only moments behind.
He held you briefly, letting you come down and stabilise your breathing. You smiled at eachother sheepishly and kissed deeply once more. There was nothing else to say.
Eddie pulled out, the emptiness hitting you immensely. It was a strange sensation, and you still didn’t feel quite yourself as your feet touched the ground again. But Eddie’s hands stayed on you for stability.
‘You’re a dream, sweetheart. Just… unbelievable.’
Eddie brushed the loose strands of hair from your face again while you readjusted your glasses. There was nothing else to say.
Now came the awkward part where you timed your exit from the aisle and hid the guilty sex-glow look on your face.
It was a slow day at the library, so no one awaited you at the front desk. You took your place and tried to shake off all your emotions, and it worked for the most part, except for the giant smile. That you just could not get rid of.
It was still there when Eddie returned to you twenty minutes later, now accompanied by a new stack of books.
‘Found everything you were looking for?’ You asked as you took the books from him.
‘That and more.’ He leaned his elbows on the wood, grinning like an idiot. You had to tell yourself not to look at him, or you would get lost in those big brown eyes.
‘I’m happy to hear that.’ You stamped the date into all the books and returned them to Eddie. ‘Here you go.’
‘Thanks, sweetheart.’ Eddie grabbed them under his arm. ‘Same time next week?’ He winked. Once, the words really were only meant for this little exchange. That had been all you were looking forward to—the small chat at the desk. Back then, you would have never imagined the things you would get up to with the metalhead in the barely visited sections of the library.
‘See you, Eddie.’ You shook your head, still smiling, of course. And that was that. There was nothing else to say.
At least, there wasn’t before. All those other times, that really would have been it. Eddie would have walked away, and you would have watched him do so while already awaiting his comeback. Yet this time…
This time, Eddie stayed in his place.
‘Can I… help you with anything else?’ You raised a brow.
‘Uhh–’ Eddie cleared his throat. ‘Yes. Yes, you could. See if I have these… these two tickets for this thing— a concert… and see, I have no idea what to do with this second one, so maybe you could help me with that.’ He spoke fast and like he was stumbling over an uneven pavement instead of words, but you followed it nonetheless.
‘Concert?’ You asked.
‘Yes.’ He expanded with the name of a band you had never heard of before. ‘This weekend.’
You thought for a moment, or at least pretended to, as you already knew your answer. ‘I might have a friend who would be interested in taking that ticket off you.’
‘Any chance this friend of yours wears cute glasses, short skirts and works at my favourite spot in the city?’
‘She just might.’ You bit the inside of your cheek.
‘Then it’s deal, sweetheart,’ Eddie slammed his hand on the table in excitement, then immediately cringed at the noise he made. That same noise seemed to have awakened a quick realisation in him: ‘Wait, we were talking about you, right?’
‘Yes, Eddie. I would love to go to the concert with you.’ You rolled your eyes at the needed clarification.
‘Cool, just checking. Great.’ he started walking away now. ‘Great. I’ll pick you up– wait; I don’t even know where you live.’
‘You can pick me up here.’
‘Do you live at the library?’ he asked quickly, and you were sure he was being serious.
‘No, Eddie, I do not, but I work weekends too. But you can bring me back to my place afterwards. Stay the night, maybe?’ Was that too much too quickly? You started to panic for a second, thinking you took it too far, but then Eddie replied, repeating his previous words.
‘It’s a deal, sweetheart.’

You watched Eddie enter the party, something that was a rare sight but since you had made the cheer squad, it was a sight you enjoyed. Butterflies filled your stomach, ignoring the girl in front of you and slipping away from the conversation to greet him.
You hadn’t seen Eddie for a few weeks, both of you having scheduling issues now that you’re on the team and he’s completing more regular D&D nights with the others.
“Y/n.” His face lights up as he embraces you, the smell of his collagen and the smoothness of the leather jacket envelopes you. You hold him tight against you, probably for longer than normal but you’ve missed him, missed his embrace.
“I’m surprised to see you here, I didn’t think you would show.”
Eddie smiles at you, quickly looking behind him as a few hoops and hollers fill the air as Chrissy slips into the home.
Chrissy. She was everything, gorgeous, smart, kind and why the fuck is she holding Eddies hand.
Your eyes flick from their fingers laced together, watching as Chrissy wraps herself around Eddie's arm, smiling at the people around you.
“Oh.” The sound slips past your lips before you can catch it. You heartbeat picks up and you swallow the lump in your throat.
Chrissy’s eyes light up at your presence, quickly wrapping her arms around your neck and pulling you into an embrace.
She smells like him.
“It’s so good to see you.”
You clear your throat, pulling away from Chrissy and faking a smile.
“Likewise.”
“There you are, I’ve been looking for you.” Steve places his arm over your shoulders, pulling you into the side of him, relief washes over you in the presence of your neighbour and friend.
Eddie looks over your embrace with Steve, you could have sworn his jaw clenched.
“Eddie was telling me that you and him play that D&D game, maybe the three of us could play sometime?” You smile at Chrissy, her effort at trying to mingle with you while you process what is occurring in front of you.
“Woah Munson, I didn’t know you and Chrissy were an item?”
Thank god for Steve.
“Um yeah, we’ve kept it on the down low for a few weeks.”
“Uh, weeks, more like two months.” Chrissy states placing her hand over his hellfire t-shirt.
“Two months, that’s pretty solid.” Steve speaks for you, his hand rubbing the top of your shoulder.
“If you both wouldn’t mind, I owe y/n a game of beer pong.” Steve nods his head at the pair, slipping his arm from around your shoulders and lacing your fingers together. You smile at Eddie and Chrissy, following behind Steve as he guides you outside of the house. He walks past the beer pong table and towards the tall tree out the back, a blanket of darkness falling over the two of you.
“C’mere.” Steve whispers, pulling you to his chest as you sob, tears falling from your eyes, water staining his shirt. Steve rests his head on the top of yours, flicking his eyes to the house as the music thumps through the air. He gently sways you to the music soothing you.
“Ho-how did you know?” Your sobs break up your sentence, your eyes looking up into Steves. He smiles weakly, using his thumb to brush a tear away from your cheek.
“I could tell that look from anywhere, I had the same one with Nancy and Jonathan.”
You giggle, tilting your head back to attempt to keep the tears at bay, “I rescued you during that one.”
“That you did.” Steve smiles, pulling you back into his chest, “Thought it was time to return the favour.”
“Thank you.” You whisper against his shirt, you pull away, your eyes scanning his outfit as you start fanning his chest, attempting to dry your tears. Steve chuckles, patting his denim jacket, pulling out a cigarette before tilting the packet towards you. You simply nod, taking a stick and leaning towards his lighter, you take a slow deep drag, holding the smoke before letting it slip past your lips, the small cloud dispersing into the night sky.
Steve keeps his eyes on you, he’d be lying if he said you didn’t look gorgeous right now. Your red lipstick staining the cigarette, the way your lips parted to release the smoke, your perfectly manicured fingers softly rolling the stick between them.
“How long have you liked Eddie?”
The butterflies flutter around inside of you, the same lump appearing in your throat at the thought of him with Chrissy.
“A while, a little over a year.”
“And you didn’t make a move?”
You sigh, watching as Steve panics, coughing on the smoke slightly.
“You don’t have to answer that.”
“I honestly don’t know, the timing never felt right.” You take another drag, your head becoming floaty as you drop the cigarette to the grass, stepping on it and placing it in the empty solo cup.
Steve simply nods, noticing the tears reappearing in your eyes.
“Want me to drive you home?”
“Haven’t you been drinking?”
“I haven’t even had one.”
“Well, aren't you boring.” You smirk, causing Steve to roll his eyes, tongue in cheek. He takes one last drag before following you lead and discarding the bud.
“I’d appreciate that Steve.”
Steve smiles, holding his hand out to you which you gladly accept. A warmth fills your body at his touch, feeling secure beside him. Steve leads you out of the party, your eyes searching the numerous bodies before the land on Eddie, his arm around Chrissy’s waist as she talks to her friends. His eyes meet yours briefly, a flicker of hurt at your tear stained cheeks. You squeeze Steve’s hand unknowingly causing him to pull you closer to him before walking out of the door.
You slide into the passenger seat, resting your head against the window, sniffling as Steve grabs your hands. A small knowing smile is shared between you both before he starts the drive to your house.

It had been six months since the house party. Your relationship with Eddie unfortunately became non-existent, other than small conversations at school about school work. However your relationship with Steve had blossomed into something so incredible, you had felt like an idiot for never considering him to be more than a friend but after both hanging out more, your feelings grew.
You were lounging on the couch with Steve, flicking through the channels, trying to find something to enjoy when there’s a knock on your front door. You look at him quizzingly, a pang of anxiety hits you, worrying something has happened to your parents who are out of town.
“Relax sweet girl, I’ll get it.”
You smile at Steve, loving that he can read you like a book.
Muffled voices fill the air, your curiosity grows as you slip off the couch, tiptoeing towards the front door before stopping in your tracks.
Eddie.
“Man, just let me see her.”
“Do you not realise how much of an idiot you are for letting her slip through your fingers?”
You hear Eddie sigh, you heartbeat picking up at Steve’s words.
“I know, I saw it on her face that night.”
Steve sighs, you lean against the wall keeping yourself hidden as you eavesdrop.
“You fucked up and I’m glad you did.” Steve whispers, “Because if you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have realised how amazing y/n truly is and I wouldn’t have been able to experience a love like this.”
Blush fills your cheeks, a smile dancing across your lips at his words.
“Steve, who is it?” You call before rounding the corner.
Steve leans on the door, opening it more to show Eddie, his face flushed and eyes glassy.
“Hey.” He whispers weakly.
“You okay?” You want to reach out to him and hold him close but you refrain.
“Uh yeah, no I will be, I uh.” Eddie takes a deep breath, looking over you. You hair is thrown up into a bun, Steve's shirt baggy on your figure and your small running shorts hugging your thighs. “I was just coming by to say hi, we, um haven’t spoken in a while.”
You smile weakly at the boy in front of you, his nerves consuming him as he fidgets with his rings.
“It has been a few weeks, it’s a little late, we were actually heading to bed shortly.” You gesture to Steve who smiles at you, his hand resting on your waist.
“Oh, shit, sorry for interrupting.”
“No, uh, dont be.” You smile, “Why don’t Steve and I join you for a game? Still hosting on Thursdays?”
Eddie chuckles, wiping his nose as he sniffles, his eyes glossy. “Yeah, still on Thursday’s, still the same campaign.”
“Well surely my character can be reintroduced, maybe I went on a side quest and found Steve’s character?” You suggest, feeling excited at being able to explore the D&D world again. Both with Steve and Eddie, although your feelings for him have fizzled down to platonic love, you still want to be friends.
“That sounds like something I can work on.”
“Awesome.” Steve smiles, causing Eddie to nod slowly, his hand playing with a lock of hair.
“We will see you on Thursday.”
“Yeah, sweet.” Eddie smiles, turning away from the door as Steve closes it.
Steve releases a deep breath, leaning his back against the closed door. His eyes search yours as a smile creeps across your face.
“A love like this?” You gesture between the two of you, watching Steve’s face fill with blush, his eyes squeezing shut, a huge smile on his face.
“Shit, you heard that?”
“Mmhm” You hum, placing your hands on his face and pulling him down to you. Your eyes lock together, noses tracing against each other.
“Did you mean it or was it to rile him up?”
“I meant it, god, I meant it.”
You smile, your lips ghosting his.
“Good because I love you.”
Steve closes the gap between the two of you, his hands on your hips. Your lips move in sync, fitting together like the perfect puzzle. He pulls away from your mouth, placing kisses all over your face, mumbling ‘love you’ against your skin.

Pheromone Friday
Tumblr media
Quick summary: Pheromone Friday is the day where my ask box is open to specific requests that are omegaverse related. (anything is accepted in my ask box on Fridays, if you don't have an omegaverse idea but have a stranger things themed request than ill still accept but it will be done after the omegaverse requests :)
Rules: Be respectful, and don't submit anything that is incest, pedophilic, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, etc. (basically don't be a bigot)
Smut Related: I'm open to writing pretty much anything, but if I discover something that I feel uncomfortable with i have the right to decline. I personally will say no to watersports and nonconseual sex.
Pairings: Romantic wise I'm only willing to do Steddie at the moment, platonic wise ill do any platonic relationship.
Last but not least: clarify if the ship will be Alpha/Alpha, Alpha/Omega or Omega/Omega. (I’m willing to do all of them.)
Anyone can participate! Or adapt this for their own use. I don't have a tag list of people who I would think would be interested yet but yeah :)
Tumblr media
Example of my omegaverse drabbles:
Alpha Eddie who sells voice clips (no video, no photos) of his moans, soft wines, shaky breaths and whimpers somewhere online for omegas. Somehow Alpha Steve accidentally comes across it and knots his toy before he even hits the five minute mark.
Because of how Eddie sounds, Steve thinks Eddie might be the submissive one when something something happens and they meet for the first time. That was his first and last mistake, and now he’s (consensually) being recorded as Eddie takes him from behind.
Now Eddies made good money, but not nearly as much as Steve brings in. the sound clip of Steve crying out when Eddie’s knot catches for the first time has already made 30k

a/n: my first request eeeeee!!! thank you anon for this one, such a delish challenge to write and I loved every angsty second of it xxx
part one / part two
The slightly skunky haze of smoke from the crackling joint perched between your fingertips intermingles with the balmy Spring air, filling your lungs with the promise of warmer days to come. The first mild night the town of Hawkins has been granted, a desperately needed reprieve from dark nights arriving prematurely and wind-chill cold enough to ice your bones.
A blanket is rolled out on the dewy grass behind Eddie’s van, the pair of you laying heavy on the polyester fabric as you succumb to intoxication, music lightly thrumming from the car’s stereo. Your secret lookout point, discovered years prior, overlooking the sleepy town twinkling sporadically as its inhabitants close the book on another day. The first daisies of the season spring up through the unkempt grass before you, dipping down into a steep slope of neglected land. Your own personal haven, shared with your best friend, the place you go when Eddie mutters through the corded phone “meet me at our spot”.
Eddie and you first grew close in sophomore year, sharing a mutual love for all things fantasy, having shared a slightly tense stand-off in the library over its tattered copy of The Hobbit. Eddie did not expect you to yield so easily, used to having to stand his ground when faced with any confrontation. But, with a warm smile, you suggested you didn’t need to re-read it just yet, passing it to his uncertain hands. With a simple gesture, you plucked the first of many bricks from his hard exterior, offering him kindness to which he wasn’t accustomed. He couldn’t believe that you, a beautiful girl, could see him as human, more than the reputation that preceded him. And thus, your friendship blossomed.
An unlikely duo, but you collected a rather eclectic group of friends. Cheerleaders, science nerds, outcasts, it didn’t matter to you. You sought out the best in people, looking beyond their stereotyped roles in the small-minded society, wanting to surround yourself with people who made you smile. Eddie loved that about you.
Matter of fact, he loved everything about you. He loved how your bedroom was unabashedly you, eclectic in every sense of the word. Posters of heavy metal bands lived in harmony with Broadway Playbills, crisp tennis shoes and graffitied sneakers sitting at the foot of your bed. It’s like you collected pieces of the people you loved, keepsakes of your time together and shared interests to show off to the world.
He loved how unafraid you were to announce your friendship, calling his name out with a cheerful wave through the crowded hallways on the dreariest of mornings. It gave Eddie something to look forward to on his lowest days, where getting out of bed was a drag. The assurance of seeing your beaming smile enough to get him through the doorways of the school he loathed.
And he loved how you took an interest in him. Patiently listening as he explained the rules of DnD, inviting you to campaign nights to which you happily celebrated the group's victories without an inkling as to what was actually going on. Getting dragged to obscure concerts out of town, driven by the promise of getting to spend time with one of your best friends. How you got along with Wayne like a house on fire, helping him prepare all sorts of meals with plenty of leftovers to spare that he could take to his long overnight shifts.
Eddie had a lot of love to give. Which makes the complete misplacement of his feelings all the more tragic.
They say sandbox love never dies, which is the case for you and Chrissy. The closest of friends since elementary school, her contagious positivity rubbed off on you in the best of ways. She supported you no matter what, and you did the same for her. And so, when she asked if you thought she should invite Eddie to the Homecoming dance last year, you ignored the pitfall in your stomach, shoving the harbinger of jealousy down and encouraging her to do so. You anticipated that it would be a one-off, the two having never spent much time together beyond exchanging pleasantries. But, as it turns out, they meshed together perfectly, like slotting pieces together from two separate puzzles.
In one fell swoop, you lost craved time with the two of your best friends as they elected to spend more time together, a relationship quickly blooming between them. If you and Eddie were an unlikely duo, Chrissy and Eddie were like chalk and cheese.
And yet, somehow, it worked.
From your perspective, anyway.
Like all relationships, you’d hear about how they naturally clashed. Eddie had no interest in going to Chrissy’s basketball games, casting you in the role of mediator as you dragged him to watch his girlfriend perform. And you patiently coached Chrissy through the little knowledge you’d accumulated through the Dungeon Master, whispering in her ear while the two of you spectated another campaign. But at the end of the day, they both seemed happy enough. And that’s what mattered most to you, regardless of your mounting feelings for your metalhead friend. The sinew of your cheek felt the brunt of your anguish as you clenched tender flesh between your teeth while you’d watch Eddie whisper sweet nothings into Chrissy’s ear across the room. The edges of your nails finding solace digging into your soft palms as he slung his arm around hers at the cafeteria table, watching as she occupied the chair once reserved for you. Relishing in the delicious burn on your waterline as you squeezed your eyes shut, noticing Chrissy beelining towards you in the school hallway wearing one of Eddie’s bracelets. An unwilling masochist at the hands of your best friends, contorting your mouth into a smile to hide the civil unrest simmering beneath your skin.
Tonight, you’d been whisked away from pressing History homework at Eddie’s request, receiving a phone call from him that he just needed to clear his head for a bit. Deducing that something must have happened between him and Chrissy, you asked him to pick you up along the way. The drive was quiet, Eddie plastering a fake plastic smile you were acutely accustomed to donning yourself, electing to once again prioritize your friend’s needs above your own.
And now, just like old times, the pair of you lay parallel to each other, gazing up at the clear night’s sky. It’s been clear that Eddie is not in the mood to talk about what happened, so you steer clear of the subject. Instead, you exist in comfortable silence, passing the burning joint between you while your limbs cement themselves to the ground. Limitless sky existing in front of your hazy vision, the question slipped out from the deepest recesses of your slightly-stoned mind.
“Do you ever think about the universe?” As you pass Eddie the butt of the joint, you tilt your head towards him. He chuckles at your obscure question, placing the rolled paper between his plump lips.
“Oh god, you’re not about to dump today’s Physics class on me, are you?”
“Shut up, that’s not what I mean.”
His eyes flutter closed as he exhales a plume of smoke skyward, stubbing out the remaining embers onto an ashtray beside him.
“I mean, yeah, sometimes. Tried to count all the stars in the sky once, but fell asleep before I finished the job.”
A grin takes over your face, shaking your head.
“I didn’t know you knew how to count, good for you.”
Eddie hisses, his hand flying to his heart to cover the metaphorical wound.
“Ouch, that was cruel, princess.” You’d never admit how the nickname made your heart flutter, breath slightly hitching at his words. “But tell me, Professor. What are your thoughts on the universe?”
Blurry eyes gaze up at the stars, twinking in the black sheet of night vast along the landscape.
“It’s just weird to think about, like, how insignificant we are.”
“Bit pessimistic, are we?” Eddie quips.
“It’s not pessimistic! It’s freeing.”
“How so?”
Each breath feels labored, grounding yourself as you find the right words.
“I mean, there are billions of universes just like ours out there. And we’ll never know about them. In the grand scheme of things, we are just a blip on the timeline, you know? A hundred years from now, no one will remember our names. And we think everything is so important. Like, I saw Amy Dixon crying in the library the other day because she didn’t get a good grade on the Math final. Or I went to the grocery store last weekend and some cashier was getting screamed at because he overcharged a lady by two cents. Like, who fucking cares?”
“Right, so what’s your point?” Eddie’s tone is entirely curious, he loves digging into your mind, hearing your perspective on anything and everything.
“My point is, nothing matters. We literally don’t matter. We’re here, and then one day, we’re not. And I don’t mean that in a cynical way, I think it’s so freeing, you know? We can do whatever we want. Like, I don’t care what anyone thinks of me, or how they try to squeeze me into whatever box they think I should fit into. Because at the end of my life, when I’m all old and gray and sitting alone in my bed, I want to be able to look back and go ‘Hey, I don’t regret a minute of that’. Like, there was nothing I wish I’d done but was too scared to. I just want to be proud of how I lived my life, you know?”
Your rambling ceases, silence filling the air between the pair of you. Eddie doesn’t reply, but you do feel him shuffling against the blanket.
“Sorry, that was probably boring and a bit weird-”
Two fingers softly pinch your chin, edging your face in the direction of your friend. Lolling your head to the side, you struggle to decipher Eddie’s expression in the dusky night. You can make out his two big brown eyes boring into you, minutely darting around your face, drinking in your features. He shuffles closer to you, hand still planted on the crook of your jawline. Time feels like it’s moving in slow motion. Every action languid, moving slowly, then all at once. Warm lips crash down on yours, sending shockwaves through your system. Melting at his touch, you relish the sensation of his soft lips intermingling with yours in the most sensual of embraces. The intensity of the moment caused you to cling onto him as the only stable thing in a dizzy world. A potent cocktail of chemicals flood your brain, far more intoxicating than any drug, leaving you aching for more. But you know you can’t. Or rather, you shouldn’t.
Pulling away, eyes wide as you study your best friend, who pinches his eyes together from the sudden loss of contact.
“Eddie, why-” You begin, unable to string a coherent sentence together with the amount of blood erratically pumping through your veins.
“‘M sorry. I had to do that, just once.”
Tears prickle the corners of your dry eyes, burning your waterline as you fight them back as shock behind to set in. Eddie, on the other hand, looks like the weight of the world has just been lifted from his shoulders.
“What- what about Chrissy?”
“Who?” Surely he’s not serious.
“Chrissy? Your girlfriend...”
Eddie winces at the mention of her name, shrinking into himself.
“Fuck. I- uh…”
“What?”
“I sort of, like- forgot about her for a moment.”
You’re incredulous, failing to comprehend how someone forgets about their whole significant other.
“What do you mean you forgot?”
“It’s just- fuck.” Eddie runs his hands along his weary face, waging a mental war with himself. “It’s like, sometimes, when I’m around you, everything else drops away. Like we’re the only two people in the world.”
Biting the inside of your cheek, you push down the boiling pot of emotions bubbling in your stomach.
“You don’t mean that-”
“I do. I don’t know how, but you drown out all the noise. All the bullshit, the ideas people have of me, it- it all disappears around you-”
“Eddie, please stop-”
“-And I wish I had of told you that sooner, but then Chrissy happened- and I worry that, I don’t know, I’m in too deep now-”
“Listen, you’re just high, okay? We can forget about this-” Suddenly feeling entirely sobered by this exchange, you find the strength to prop yourself up on the blanket, wrapping your arms around yourself in order to self-soothe.
“-I’m not high. I’ll wake up and feel the same way tomorrow. Chrissy is fine but she’s- fuck, she’s not you. We’ll go to the cinema and see some stupid romantic comedy, and all I want is to look over and see you.”
“Stop it.”
“Or I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and roll over and wish it was you asleep next to me.”
Bile builds in your throat at the mere thought of them occupying the same bed.
“Eddie, please-”
“And shit, I never should have said yes to her. I always knew I’d break her heart, it’s so fucked up.” Eddie’s word vomit continually spills out, you’ve never seen him so unfiltered. And it’s starting to scare you that he may be telling the truth. Finding the strength in your unsteady legs, your feet meet the ground beneath you, trying to put further distance between you and Eddie. Your heart aches like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, like you’re somehow suffocating from the inside. “I’m just- fuck, I’m sorry.”
A dense silence occupies the space between you, neither of you sure where to go from here.
“I’m not the one you should apologize to, Eddie.” Oh my god, how are you going to begin to explain this to Chrissy? The thought of losing her, the one stable constant throughout your life, prematurely breaks your heart. Your palm clasps over your mouth, shaking your head like trying to erase an Etch-A-Sketch, remove the image of Chrissy’s wide eyes as you relay what’s just transpired. The dam breaks, and the first of many tears spills down your flushed cheeks. How you wish things were simpler, wrapped up in a neat package like the happy endings you see in films.
“Shit, I really fucked up, didn’t I?” Eddie’s voice quivers beyond your glossy vision, tugging at your heartstrings. Unable to speak, you give a half-hearted nod in response. Eddie clears his throat. “Guess you’re right. We should just forget this happened, okay? Just go back to the way things were, if that’s what you want.”
A fate worse than death, existing the way you have been for months on end. But what other choice was there?
“Yeah.”
With a sigh, Eddie methodically folds up the blanket, throwing it into the back of the van.
“Let’s get you home, it’s getting late.” The drive home is silent, but the words left unsaid between the pair of you are deafening. You should feel grateful to see the familiar paneling of your house, the front left on welcoming you home. But, as always, it signals the end of your time with Eddie, heart aching from the admissions dancing on the tip of your tongue. The car gears click into park, and your unsteady hand finds the door handle.
“See you tomorrow.” Three unimportant words now charged with tension, the mere thought of seeing the pair at school tomorrow causing your stomach to flip.
“Yeah.” Eddie’s response is mumbled, taking a particular interest in the worn leather of the steering wheel. Chewing your lip, you click the door open, about to maneuver out when Eddie’s words immobilize you.
“Hey?” For the first time in the eternal drive, Eddie works up the courage to look at you directly, doe-eyes meeting yours for a fleeting moment.
“Mmm?”
With a sharp inhale of breath, Eddie struggles to maintain his gaze, brows furrowing as he nervously fiddles with his rings.
“I’ve fucked up a lot of things in my life, but I’ve been thinking about what you said. And, at the end of my shitty life, I’m gonna look back and not regret kissing you. Not for a minute.”
Those words are your springboard out of the vehicle, closing the door behind you with your little remaining composure, hastening up the driveway and through the front door. Locking it behind you, you feel your chest tighten and ache with longing and regret.
You hope things will return back to how they were. But, in the back of your mind, a small, selfish voice prays that they don’t.

okay so, what if you and eddie break up and the one who’s more distraught than either of you is Dustin. in his eyes, this would be worse than his parents divorcing.. he would try so hard to keep it together, but when he would see one without the other, he would just become this big crying mess and he’s begging eddie to get his shit together and try to fix it. (you can make the ending a happy one, or a v sad one! your pick! also, sorry for the sadness, I just want an author to make me cry 😅)
I fell in love with this the moment I read it. Thank you so much for the request. Your brain is just *chefs kiss*. I hope I did you justice 🖤

Three Weeks Ago
“Campaign’s been cancelled.”
Dustin stops doing his math homework. Mike’s pen drops from the letter he’s writing to El. Both boys look at each other and suddenly they’re reaching for the walkie talkie.
Mike is the first to grab it pressing his thumb against the button, “What? Why!”
Even after Eddie left high school he still kept up with his love of D&D and opted to host it at his trailer. He took his role as the honorary big brother to the group very seriously. He never missed a night always keeping his words to his young friends that idolized him. Confusion takes over the teenagers minds wondering what crisis would cause Munson to miss the D&D night they looked forward too.
The line stays dead for a few moments until Eddie’s voice rings through once more.
“We broke up.”
The boys look at each other in pure shock. Dustin is the first to start asking questions taking the walkie out of Mike’s hand. He asks what happened. He asks Eddie if this was a sick joke. He’s met with nothing as Eddie turns off the walkie and goes radio silent.
Eddie holds the walkie to his chest trying to collect himself. He feels his tears slip down his face and wipes them away quickly before tossing the device on the kitchen table.
The fight you two just had keeps playing in his head and he wants nothing more than to turn it off. You had came home telling him of an exciting new job offer. He was so happy for you. It was an amazing opportunity and he was on board for you taking it. But he saw how you pulled back and told him you weren’t going to take it. You would stay here. He instantly told you no and said you’d be crazy not to go. You told him he couldn’t tell you what to do. He got insecure. You got angry. One thing led to another and he was telling you there wasn’t a reason for you to stay if you didn’t have him. You didn’t get another word out. He left.
He closes his eyes but all he can see is your tear filled eyes looking right through him as he tells you he can’t continue the relationship anymore. His chest tightens and a dull ache begins to form. His eyes open and he’s back in his trailer.
He stalks over to the refrigerator, opens it, and spots a beer in the back. It’s taken out and popped open within seconds, the cool liquid running down his throat.
It had to happen. He thinks to himself. He thinks about how you don’t need him holding you back.
He thinks about grabbing another beer but ends up taking the whole pack instead. He’s downing half the bottle and heads to his room. The bedroom door is locked behind him and Eddie sinks into his bed not wanting to face the reality that he just broke up with the love of his life.

Two Weeks Ago
Steve Scans the VHS tapes ready for his shift to be over. Robin sits on the counter snacking on a bag of chips she found in Steve’s backpack watching him work. Both young adults ready to be off in a few hours.
They haven’t had any but a few customers on the slow Wednesday night.
“You know you could help me and we could be done with this.”
Robin pretends to think about Steve’s suggestion and plops another chip on her tongue. “Yeah, but then that would mean you’d have nothing to do the rest of the night. Who am I to deprive you of not having to work?”
Steve rolls his eyes. Typical.
He goes to bite back but he’s cut off by the sound of the front door chiming alerting them of a customer. Robin quickly hops down and stuffs the bag of chips under the counter. She wipes her hands on her jeans clearing them of the chip dust.
“Relax, Buckley, it’s just me,” Dustin storms in throwing his backpack on the counter pushing the VHS tapes Steve just organized.
Steve yells at Dustin to be careful and Robin takes her seat back on the counter. Dustin rolls his eyes as takes in the candy options in the case. Robin sees the disheartening look on his face.
“What’s wrong, Henderson? Mommy won’t let you rent Never Ending story this week?”
Dustin’s head shoots up with glaring eyes at Robin. Robin gives him a grin letting him know it was a joke. Steve stifles back a laugh as he gets his pile back in order.
“I can’t do it anymore. It’s hurting too much,” Dustin confesses picking up a Twix bar.
Concern takes over Steve and he leans against the counter ready to console his friend. “Awh man, did you and Susie break up?”
“What? No. We’re good,” Dustin opens the candy and takes a bite out of it. “I’m talking about Eddie and-“ Steve sighs as he pats Dustin’s back cutting him off.
“Dustin we talked about this. You have to let them figure it out,” Steve tries reasons. Robin looks at both boys completely confused.
“Listen Harrington just because your relationships don’t work out doesn’t everyone else has to suffer,” Steve takes immediate offense to that statement but Dustin continues on taking another bite out of his candy, “they’re meant to be!”
Robin’s curiosity gets the best of her and she’s throwing her hands up in the air and making a T our them. “Woah. Pause. Time out here. What the hell is he talking about?”
Dustin finishes the candy bar and starts pacing back and forth. Steve leans over ready to update a very lost Robin.
“They broke up.”
“Who?”
“Eddie and—“
Dustin stops and looks at Robin annoyed that no one else is effected, “We have to do something. It’s so obvious that they belong together! They’re supposed to get married and make me the best man, dammit!”
Steve runs a hand down his face having heard the same breakdown from Dustin every night since you and Eddie broke up. Robin glances at Steve and back at a very upset Dustin. She didn’t even know you two had broken up. Why didn’t anyone tell me. Then again, she’s been busy with her own relationship she hasn’t really seen you. The thinks back to the last time she saw Eddie. It was a few days ago at the Hideout. He was very drunk and hardly recognized her, but he was there. By himself. Dustin grabs another candy bar bringing her out of her thoughts. She thinks for a moment treading carefully over her words.
“Dustin…” she pauses thinking of the right words to say, “Don’t you think they broke up for a reason?” She sees the way he immediately shakes his head not liking those words come out of her mouth. “I mean… maybe it’s what they wanted?”
“Those two idiots don’t know what they want!”
Robin gets down from the counter to stop Dustin from pacing with a hand on his shoulder. He looks at her with a defeated look. She pulls him in for a hug. It only lasts a few seconds when Dustin stands still not reciprocating it.
“Why are you so upset about this?”
Dustin sighs and takes his hat off running a hand through his curls. “I just don’t understand what happened. One day they were fine and the next Eddie is saying they’re done. I went to Eddie’s to get answers but he’s never home.”
Robin nods crossing her arms thinking of you.
“Have you seen-“
“No. I went over to talk to them but I get nothing. They wouldn’t tell me to much of what happened just told me they wanted to be left alone.”
Robin starts to see why the breakup between you and Eddie is so personal. You two were the people he turned to the most when he needed advice. When he needed an outsiders perspective looking into his situations. He loved how you and Eddie always made the bad in the world seem so good. He’s seen to many couples break up, including his own parents, for him to give up on love. And yet you and Eddie showed him that it’s okay for two people to come from two different worlds and learn to love each other. Dustin turns around and a small sniffle is heard. “It doesn’t feel right. It feels like I’m watching my parents divorce. I mean for God’s sake they practically raised me.”
Steve rolls his eyes and straightens his back as his hands meet his hips. “Ok I wouldn’t go that far. I was the original babysitter and I help you—“
“Steve this isn’t about you.”
This time Robin doesn’t hide her laugh. Poor Steve can never catch a break and Dustin is always there to remind him. Steve shakes his head knowing where Dustin is headed in his rant,
“Dustin, you gotta let them figure it out. If it’s meant to be then it’ll be. You can’t force them to work it out.”
That’s it.
Light bulbs go off in Dustin’s head. He looks at Steve as if he just created a cure for all diseases. Robin watches as Dustin runs over and grabs his backpack. His backpack knocks over the stack Steve had fixed.
“That’s it! You brilliant brilliant man!” Dustin runs to the door but stops. He turns around and runs back to the counter grabbing another Twix bar.
“Hey! You need to pay for those, Henderson!” Steve yells watching Dustin grab his bike from the front of the store. Dustin takes off and Steve looks at the mess on the floor annoyance bubbling up. Robin pulls out a five dollar bill and slips it to Steve taking care of Dustin’s candy tab.
Robin watches Steve pick up the pile.
On the other side of town Eddie plays his guitar.
You stay in bed watching your favorite movie.
And Dustin rides his bike home thinking of how he can get his favorite couple back together.
——
One Week Ago
Eddie lays on his bed as his fingers gently go up and down the guitar strings. He hums a melody that reminds him of you and the way you used to sing with him. That painful ache he’s been feeling the moment he walked away from you hasn’t left. When’s not at the Hideout he keeps himself in his room. The door stays locked. It keeps him keep from knocking on your door asking for forgiveness. To prevent himself from telling you that he misses not only his lover, but his best friend. In the years of being side by side next to you, he’s never felt so lonely. He misses you. Your smile fills his mind.
Stop it.
Eddie stops playing and sits up. The back of his palms rub against his closed lids. Eddie gets up and puts his guitar back on his wall grabbing his jacket from the chair. His mind is set going to the Hideout.
Eddie opens the door preparing to leave but he’s immediately stop when fist fly at his chest. The person stumbles across the threshold but Eddie is quick to catch them in his arms. He pulls them up by the shirt in their back and is shocked to see who is visitor is.
“Henderson? What brings you here? To my humble adobe? To assault me?” Each question getting less enthusiastic and more sarcastic.
Dustin fixes himself pulling down his shirt taking a breath in. Eddie takes note of his bike thrown on the ground outside. Sweat lines the collar of Dustin’s shirt. His cheeks tinted red .
“I- I was trying to,” Dustin struggles with his breathing. Eddie places a hand on his shoulder and turns Dustin around kicking the front door shut with his boot. He sits Dustin down on the couch before getting him some water to cool him down.
Dustin take a gulp out of the cup Eddie gives him and places his hands on his knees. He takes a deep breath in and blows out into the air as if candles were in front of him. He’s exhausted.
Eddie stands against the wall opposite of the couch patiently waiting for an explanation.
“I wanted to see you. I saw your van and knew you were home. I was about to knock on the door right as you opened it.”
Eddie gives Dustin a stoic expression.
Dustin flashes him a smile, “I miss you, Eddie.” That breaks Eddie and he’s smiling back at Dustin. The two remained close even after Eddie finished high school in the past year. He hadn’t seen Dustin or anyone for that matter since the break up. You, Dustin and Eddie were all very close taking him in as a brother. He wonders how Dustin felt not hearing from him.
Eddie begins to feel guilty with the sudden cut off he’s had with everyone, especially with Dustin as he looks at him with the tired look on his face. Eddie doesn’t live near him and the weather still had it’s hot moments. Judging from the sweat lining his shirt Eddie knows Dustin went out of his way to see him and check up on him. Only Dustin Henderson would go out of his way to check up on Eddie Munson. Dustin is a real friend to him despite him ignoring him and the outside world. And that’s why Eddie doesn’t make him turn around and leave, he lets him relax on his couch.
Dustin let’s a comfortable silence pass before asking him the question he’s been avoiding for the past three weeks. His voice is quiet when he gets the courage to ask Eddie.
“What happened, Eddie?”
Eddie isn’t frozen by the question. He knew it was coming. Yet he doesn’t seem prepared by it. A chuckle comes out of Eddie as he shrugs his shoulders. He pushes himself off the wall needing a taste of alcohol.
“Nothing, man. All is good here.”
Lies.
Dustin doesn’t say anything as he watches Eddie take a beer from the fridge. Eddie opens the bottle tossing the cap into the trash before taking a swing out of it.
“As a matter of fact, I couldn’t be better!” Eddie begins his way back to Dustin.
Eddie takes another drink sitting down next to Dustin. Dustin scoots over seeing the strong front Eddie is so desperately trying to build crumble with every word.
“I mean I graduated right? I finally did it. I’m getting more gigs. And I’m not needing to sell as much anymore!” Dustin is surprised to learn that Eddie isn’t dealing as often as he was and he’s happy for his friend. Still, despite his new success coming with the band, he knows it’s all a front. Eddie thinks back to the argument. Eddie remembers being so excited for you. He genuinely was. But his fears of holding you back came in strong.
Eddie looks at Dustin with a fake smile plastered on his face. Dustin can only give him a half hearted smile letting him know he sees right through him. Eddie’s own falls and tears well up in his eyes. Eddie bites his bottom lip looking up at the ceiling willing himself not to break down in front of Dustin.
“I fucked up, man. I miss them so fucking much.”
Dustin pats Eddie’s shoulder before bringing him in for a side hug. Eddie knows Dustin’s aware of his emotional state. The way he’s closed himself off from the people he loves scares himself. He pulls himself away dragging his hand over his face to collect the few tears that escaped. He knows Dustin isn’t here for small talk. He’s here for a reason.
“I know, Eddie. It’s time for you to grow some balls and get them back.”

Present Day
It was 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. You pull up to the parking lot of the family video store seeing Steve’s car parked up front with the hood open. The lights are on inside giving you a clear vision of Steve on the phone while Robin reads a magazine. She sees you and hits Steve’s shoulder telling him you arrived. The store closed 30 minutes and both of your friends were stranded leaving you as the designated knight in shinning armor to pick them up. Robin peaks her head through the front door and waves at you before stepping outside. You roll down your window as she approaches with a shy smile on her face.
“Thanks for taking us home. Dingus is on the phone trying to get a tow,” Robin explains leaning against your door. You nod understanding the frustration Steve must be feeling trying to find car service after hours in a small town.
Robin convinces you to come inside in the meantime promising it shouldn’t be much longer. You happily agree seeing as the weather was getting colder at night and you didn’t want to use anymore gas to heat up your car while you waited for Steve.
You both make your way inside where you’re met with a very upset Steve. “Awh, c’mon man! I can’t leave my car here overnight! It’s probably just the battery can’t you just send someone to jump it?” Steve throws his hands in the air. Poor Steve just can’t catch a break. Robin looks at you and you immediately follow her to the break room. It’s a small room. Just enough for small table and microwave shoved in the corner; but it makes sense seeing as the store employees three people at a time. The smell of popcorn fills your senses as you sit down on one of the chairs.
Robin opens the microphone and takes out a bowl of popcorn shoving a handful in her mouth. She offers you the bowl but you politely tell her no hearing Steve yell out a frustrated cry in the background. You and Robin exchange a glance of worry but choose not to say anything opting to ask her how work was today.
On the other side of the store Steve calls the last mechanic in the yellow book praying they’re still open. He’s in the middle of hearing the fourth ring when the store door is opened and two familiar mops of hair walk in.
“You have got to be kidding me,” Steve murmurs just as the line goes dead on the other line. Dustin flashes him a toothy smile that tells him he has something to do with his car troubles.
Eddie holds two cable jumpers in his hand and Steve sees his van is parked right next to his. Eddie looks nervous glancing around the store. It’s clear he saw your car in the parking lot and knows you’re here.
“Heard you were having some car troubles. Figured Eddie could lend you a hand,” Dustin says not so casually. Steve rolls his eyes knowing that Dustin was 100% responsible for this. He wants to question how Dustin even knew about his car but knowing Dustin, and does Steve ever, he knows he planned this very well. Steve takes in Eddie and notices the way he fidgets with the cables in his hand. Eddie clearly has no prior knowledge of you being here.
Dammit, Dustin. Steve steps from behind the counter pointing a finger at Dustin. “I don’t know what you did but I know you’re responsible for this.”
Dustin only grins at his friend shrugging his shoulders. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Steve huffs at him as he turns around and guides Eddie outside to help him with his car trouble. Dustin waits for the two men to walk outside before he’s running back to the break room.
You’re in the middle of listening to Robin talk about a new movie coming out when Dustin makes his appearance by the door. It’s been a couple days since he stopped by your house to check on you but he still manages to get a smile out of you. You take in his backpack and glance at the clock on the wall hanging above the threshold. Concern takes over and you can’t help the questions that begin to rise.
“What are you doing here, D? The store is closed and it’s past 9:30 at night.”
A fake look of shock paints across his face as he place a hand over his heart. “What! Oh. Yes. You’re right. Ha. Ha ha. I just saw Steve’s car and figured he needed help.”
You look at Robin who only gives you an attempt of a smile but fails miserably with the guilt right behind it. Dustin walks over and opens up his backpack taking his walkie out and placing it on the table. He picks it up only to knock over Robin’s bowl of popcorn causing her to groan out in frustration.
“Oh well you look at that. I’m such a cluts!” His tone is robotic and almost rehearsed. He’s up to something. You cock an eyebrow at him about to question him when Robin sees your mind catching on. She stands up and grabs Dustin by his backpack.
“Dustin why don’t you go see if Steve needs help with his car,” She holds emphasis on car. The two look at each other, Dustin taking in her sentence before the light bulb goes off in his head. He claps his hands and nods enthusiastically.
“Yup! You’re right. Ha. Ha ha.” He looks at you and then at Robin. A smile is on his face as a moment passes by. Robin rolls her eyes and pushes him towards the door reminding him to keep to the plan.
Robin sees you about to ask her what that was about but beats you to it telling you everything is perfectly okay. She walks to the door and turns to you, “I’m going to get a broom.” She looks at the popcorn. You offer to help her but she insists she can do it. With that she closes the break room door leaving you confused as ever.
It only takes five minutes and Steve’s car is up and running perfectly fine. Both boys turn off their cars and hop out. Steve shakes Eddie’s hand thanking him for the help which Eddie only nods in return. Eddie is ready to leave to avoid any crossover with you. Dustin sees Eddie go back to his van. Eddie tells Dustin to hop in so they can go. Dustin happens to start coughing in that moment gaining attention from both men.
“You okay, Henderson?” Both men say simultaneously. They look at each other with an eyebrow raise for a second before turning back to the teenager.
Dustin bends over holding his chest. “Need water! Eddie go get me water! Steve stay here and get me my inhaler!”
Steve shakes his head at Dustin. It’s very obvious Dustin’s faking his actions. “You don’t have an inhaler-“
“Water, Eddie! Dammit I need water I’m dying here!”
Eddie doesn’t question it seeing his friend in distraught. He jogs to the door stopping as right before he opens it. He sees Steve begrudgingly open the backpack looking for his inhaler. Weird, didn’t know Henderson had asthma.
“Water?” He calls out his question.
Dustin waves his hand forward as he dramatically falls into Steve’s arms. “Break room!” Eddie turns back and makes his way there.
Steve pushes Dustin off of him. Dustin snatches his backpack out of Steve’s and gets his spare walkie out of it. Steve goes to tell Dustin off but stops when he sees Robin peak up from behind the counter. She managed to hide herself tucked up in the corner waiting for her signal. She sees Eddie’s hair bounce across the store straight to her target. Steve and Dustin watch as Robin sneaks up behind Eddie.
“You have got to be kidding me.”
Dustin shushes Steve. Robin waits for Eddie to open the door taking her key out her pocket. He stands frozen in shock seeing you sitting right there. Robin takes the opportunity and pushes him inside, closing the door and locking it from the outside. Dustin throws out a victory punch in the air loving the execution.
“Seriously? You got Robin involved?” Steve asks completely caught off guard. Dustin shushes him waiting for the thumbs up from Robin that you and Eddie were locked.
“How did you even get to my car? It’s parked up front,” Steve wonders leaning against his car. Dustin waves a hand at Steve dismissing him. Steve watches as Dustin takes a seat on the hood of the car.
“I didn’t do anything. Robin waited until Stacy and her friends came in. She knew you’d be distracted long enough to get to your car and run your lights to drain your battery.”
Steve tries to defend himself. He is not that easily distracted. Robin gives Dustin a thumbs up and the teenager gets his walkie ready to get his favorite couple back together.
——
You stare up at your ex with wide eyes. He looks at you as if you’ve grown a third eye. Both of you say nothing taking each other in for the first time in weeks. Eddie’s hair is pulled back in a low bun. Lose strands frame his face so beautifully. You want to tuck them behind his ear but stop yourself. His eyes are puffy and his skin looks dry. Your under eyes are darker looking as if sleep hasn’t been welcoming to you.
Both of you look like a wreck.
The walkie on the table beeps in jumping you both out of your daze. Attention love birds. Operation: Parent Trap has been initiated.
Son of a bitch, Henderson. Eddie hits the palm of his forehead. You stay quiet watching him. Eddie takes a hesitant step towards you to reach the device.
“Henderson, whatever you’re doing, knock it off.”
You keep your eyes on Eddie knowing he’s avoiding your contact. Of course he is, he’s been avoiding you the past 3 weeks.
“Time to man up, Munson. You’ll be let out once you guys talk it out.” The sound of Steve’s voice surprises you. You never took Steve as the type to get involved. Interesting.
Eddie curses Steve but he’s only met with silence.
Deciding it’s now or never you kick your foot out to the chair opposite of you. It screeches obnoxiously startling Eddie. It’s your way of offering him to sit down. He stands in front of you with a weary expression. You simply hold your arms to your chest giving him a nonchalant nod. You have nothing to be embarrassed for. He’s the one that ended things to hastily. Not you. Deciding that Dustin will keep his word and you just want answers of your own you take the route that’s natural for you.
“This is a bit extreme don’t you think?”
Eddie nods in agreement taking you up on your silent offer. He sits down in the chair. “It’s a Dustin idea. Of course it’s extreme.”
You both chuckle at that statement. Genuine smiles for the first time in three weeks. It feels good but so bittersweet at the same time. Silence fills the air as soon as the laughter ends.
Eddie feels the back of his neck getting hot feeling you stare at him. He knows he shouldn’t do it, yet he looks up at you. Guilt rushes to him and he so badly wants to hug you and tell you he’s sorry for being an ass and ending things. He wants to say the things he should have said instead telling you it was over.
You see the fight in his eyes. His fingers cross over each other cracking the air bubbles in between before he rests his knuckle against his mouth. You know he still loves you. People who are no longer in love don’t look at you the way Eddie does.
“You gonna talk to me now, Eddie? Or are you still running away from me?”
He closes his eyes hearing how soft your voice is. He’s missed it so much. He’s missed you. The moment he left your house he’s missed you.
“No.”
Your eyebrows furrow at his answer and he immediately realizes he already said the wrong thing again.
“I mean no I’m not going to run away from you. I’m here I want to talk.” He stops and thinks about his next sentence hoping it doesn’t come out wrong. “Only if that’s okay. If you’ll let me explain myself.”
You lean back in the chair crossing your legs out in front of you. If he wants to ever speak to you again he better start doing so himself.
“Please do explain yourself, Eddie. Please tell me how we were literally fine and within minutes you decided we weren’t.” You don’t mean to bring up that night so hastily but you have no choice but too. He left you with no answer as to why.
Eddie slides his head down to meet his closed fist. You watch him battle himself internally. His eyes are closed and he wants to shut down again. You see him begin to struggle and out of instinct you lean across the table and place your hand on top of his. He instantly relaxes to your touch.
“You gotta give me something here, Ed’s.” You slide your thumb over the back of his hand. Your voice is no longer hard. Even though you know in your heart it’s not true you still find yourself seeking confirmation. “If you don’t love me—”
His head shoots up shaking furiously. He cuts you off immediately letting you know that statement is all but true. “Loving you isn’t the issue. It’s not the issue at all.”
The pain settled in your heart begins to chip away. You knew that already but you needed to hear him confirm it. “Then what is it? Was it the job offer?”
Eddie looks down not wanting to see the shame in your eyes. He can deal with everyone telling him he’s a disappointment. But the moment he sees it in your eyes he know he’ll never come back from that. He can deal with the world not believing in him as long as you’re the one to cheer him on.
“It’s me.”
You ask what he means by that. Eddie lets out a huff. He doesn’t want to tell you how he’s feeling. If he tells you that he’s scared of holding you back then you’ll realize you can be with someone who can offer you more. Not the small town drug dealer that took longer to graduate.
But when you stare at him with zero judgement in your eyes that’s all it takes for Eddie to gather his thoughts. You patiently wait for him to gather what he needs to say. Just like you always do when you know he needs to process and execute his words properly. “I wasn’t mad at you for getting the job offer. I was proud of you. I am proud of you. You’re going to go off and do great things. Be whatever you want.” He sees the way you suck in your bottom lip to keep yourself from interrupting him. “But, I’m not destined for that. This is the best I’m going to get. And that’s why we need to stop this. I can’t be the one to hold you back. I won’t be the reason you stay.”
You feel your heart break again, but this time it’s for the man in front of you, not because of him. How could he think so low of himself? How could he make a decision based on his insecurities? How could he think he’s doing what’s best for you? A mix of frustration and annoyance builds.
“Eddie Munson, you are one stupid man if you think for a second I’m going to let you decide what’s good for me!”
He goes to speak but you immediately cut him off. “I’ve loved you for how many years now? I’ll continue to do so because it’s what I want. I want you. You don’t get to sit here and decide who I can and cannot love. Yes, the job offer I got is amazing but I’ll get another one because I know what they’re offering isn’t enough. And do you know how I know that?”
You don’t wait for his reply instead standing up from your seat. He watches you with wide eyes. “Because you are the one who taught me to forget the social norm and do what calls out to me.” You have a finger shooting at him to get your point across. “This job offer isn’t it for me. But maybe the next one will. And maybe I’ll take it. Maybe I won’t. I don’t know. You don’t know. But all I know is that when that time comes we’ll cross that bridge together. Because that’s what we do. We make decision together, Eddie.”
Eddie only stares up at you seeing the passion in your eyes. You hold zero judgement or hatred to him. His fall back down to his hands. His voice is barely above a whisper.
“You deserve better. I don’t know if I can give you that.”
Frustration leaves and you begin to see the insecurity laying on the surface of his emotions. You feel yourself get sad. How can he not see what you see in him? You tell him to look up at you. He doesn’t.
“Look at me.”
You step away from the table. You squat down to be eye level with him. To be equal with him. You gently grab his face in between your hands. He looks at you and disappointment never comes across your face.
“Eddie Munson the world doesn’t deserve you, yet here you are. You are too hard on yourself. I love you. I didn’t know you’d be it for me but the moment you let me into your world I knew I’d love nothing more than to forever be with you. I love you, Eddie. I do. But you don’t get to decide what’s good for me and what’s not. You’re it for me.”
“But-“ you shake your head. If only you could take away his insecurities of being good enough you’d do it in a heartbeat. You wish so desperately he could see the good that you see in him. You wish you could take away any negative thoughts he has about himself. Just like he wishes you were nicer to yourself. How he wishes you’d never get into your head with negative thoughts. The two of you tended to be so wrapped up in trying to help each other you both forgot to take care of yourselves in the process.
“No buts. You love me. I love you. We love each other. We fight. We make up. We take care of each other. But it needs to start with us first, Eddie.”
He leans forward and captures your lips. You keep your hands on his face while his hands hold onto the sides of your neck. There’s nothing sexual behind the kiss. Just two people desperate to tell each other how much they love one another.
He isn’t the one to pull back. He never wants to be the one to pull back ever again, emotionally and physically. You lean your forehead against his both of you masking each other in.
“Don’t ever doubt us, again.”
He nods letting go of your neck to get ahold of your fingers. Both of your pinkies lock around each other and he kisses your knuckle. “I promise I won’t ever doubt us again.” You repeat his actions, the pinky promise bond ensuring your word to each other.
Eddie helps you stand up and you pick up the walkie talkie. You give him one last kisses before pressing the button. “Time to tell our love child mommy and daddy are back together.” Eddie laughs at your comment taking your hand in his. It only takes a few moments and the door is open revealing a shy faced Robin. You give her a thumbs up telling her all is well. She squeals with excitement. You feel Eddie pull you into him. Eddie and you make your way up to the front with her trailing right behind to lock up the store. Dustin can be heard celebrating with Steve outside who tells him to get in the car so he can take him home.
Both of you are just reaching the front store doors when Eddie’s curiosity gets the best of him.
“Wait,” you stop and look at him giving your full attention .
He eyes you suspiciously. “Whose mommy and whose daddy?”
You can only laugh when you hear Robin give a fake gag hearing the innuendo in his tone. You lean forward placing a sweet peak on his lips. He pulls back as you throw him a wink. “We have three weeks to make up for. Let’s go back to your place and find out.”

“Wait,” your nerves suddenly got the best of you as Eddie began to lean in, “I’m scared.”
Inching his head back just a bit, he enquired softly, “why are you scared?”
“I don’t know how to do this!” your heart was practically beating out of your chest.
“Sweetheart,” he breathed out a smile, his palm reassuringly coming up to meet the side of your flush face, “it’s not like it’s rocket science.”
“That’s easy enough for you to say,” you cursed the blush raging on your cheeks, “what if I do something wrong?”
“You won’t,” he said with tender confidence, his breath fanning across your skin and causing goosebumps to erupt.
“You don’t know that,” you mumbled shyly, then glanced down, avoiding his mesmerizing gaze.
“Y/n,” he suddenly leaned in and planted a swift peck on your hot cheek before repeating, “you won’t.” Blinking up at him with wide eyes, stunned by the fact that he had so casually kissed your cheek, he eventually tested, “you ready?”
Looking back at him with edgy stars in your eyes, all you could was hum in confirmation, “mhm.”
You didn’t know you could ever feel something so soft. Kissing you as if you were made of porcelain, it nearly tingled from how your lips buzzed against his gentle ones. The kiss was quick, perhaps too quick as you felt it fade away as soon as it had begun.
“Wow…” you exhaled, eyes hastily blinking back at him from the overwhelming flutter within you, “that was weird.”
“Bad weird?” his face light-heartedly twisted into a grimace.
“No, just-,” every word you thought to use to clarify washed away as you felt his thumb swipe over your cheek, caressing the heated skin softly, “wow…”
Biting down on his blooming grin your speechlessness triggered, he asked, “do you wanna do it again?”
“Yes,” you answered maybe a little bit too fast, “I mean, yeah,” you fumbled in an attempt to sound more cool, “if you want to, sure.”
Your eyes fluttered shut as his lips pressed against yours once more. Still just as gentle as before, though this time he didn’t just stop after only a second of kissing you, he stayed there, relishing in the sensation not yet familiar to you. His palms softly cradled your face, fingers caressing the sides of your blissful expression.
“I thought it would be more, I don’t know, slimy,” you hazily thought out loud once his lips had left yours.
“Oh, it can be,” he smirked, enthusiasm glinting in his warm eyes, “I just thought it would be better for you to learn how to walk before you run.”
“Oh,” your legs shifted as a tingle shot down your spine, “okay.”
“But if you want to go run a fucking marathon, then just put on your running shoes. I’ve literally dreamt of nothing else since the day I met you.”
“Wait,” growing unsure a moment by his enthusiastic words, you checked, “you’re not actually talking about running, are you?”
“No, honey,” he chuckled, “that was just a metaphor, but if you want me to, then I’d be happy to spell it out in big, fat block letters for you,” clearing his throat dramatically, he daringly announced, “Y/n, I would really fucking love to bone you down one day,” gesticulating with his hands to prove his point, “I’m talking real nasty, just have you drip down all over me while I-”
“O-okay! Alright!” previously convinced that you couldn’t turn into even more of a tomato, you rushed to cut him off, “I-I get the picture, you don’t have to clarify anymore, I already kinda understood it with the whole running thing!”

“I just think you’re getting a little too into it.”
It’s crazy to think Eddie would draw the line at Gareth and not Steve. Yet here you two are, arguing in the dressing room mid-shift because Eddie realized his D&D friends — who are regulars at his D&D themed strip club — have eyes and money.
“Babe, this is GARETH we’re talking about here,” you emphasize. “Gareth!”
You’re talking about the Gareth who’s gamer tag is ‘Gareth the “Gare Bear” Emerson’.  The same Gareth who still uses the bunny ear method to tie his shoes. The same Gareth who gets upset when his food touches. Aside from his now relatively toned build, clear skin, and knowledge on self-care and personal hygiene, Gareth Emerson is still the same guy. And that guy is a fucking dweeb.
“Yeah, but Gareth is conventionally attractive now,” your boyfriend points out. “And somebody who’s had no choice but to build their charm from the inside out is a dangerous person.”
Projecting, are we Munson? You think to yourself. You couldn’t believe the audacity of your boyfriend. Ever since you two became exclusive, Eddie has become extra protective of you. You didn’t mind it. You actually preferred it because it means he cares. But really, at work? The place you clock in every day (not only to see him but) to make a living?
“You left scratches on his back last time.”
“He paid me to make a girl jealous.”
“And let’s not forget whatever the fuck that was that you did with Creel,” Eddie adds refusing to hear you out.
“Henry PAID me for a lap dance,” you hiss. “He was lonely, I was doing my job. He came in and spoiled me and your business on his off day, babe.”
The heat dissolves from Eddie’s cheeks when he hears his pet name. Albeit flattering, this conversation between you two wasn’t over just yet.
Eddie knew what he saw. He knows that blank, fucked out stare from anywhere, and it was prominent when you were giving Henry a lap dance, using the crinkle of his pants to get yourself off.
There’s no arguing there. But you were single when that happened and Eddie at the time made it really seem like he didn’t want anything with you. None of this was taking away from how ridiculous Eddie was being.
“Okay,” you sigh, still choosing to honor his wishes. “No more dances for Gareth.”
“At least for tonight,” Eddie barters, issuing you a fake pout. “Feeling a little bit jealous, but I’ll get over it.”
Stay away from Gareth, or men in general tonight. You can definitely do that.
Eddie’s a happy camper now. He watches as you do your thing at Vecna’s Lair, cock twitching eagerly in his pants as you swing down the pole and sink your pelvis onto the stage. The men douse you in ones, fives, tens, twenties. And you let it rain down on you with ease.
But why is Eddie still so jealous? He can’t help but turn green with envy when he sees you smile at your patrons. When you lock eyes with them as you speak. And the way they gravitate towards you and your pheromones like some magnets on a fridge.
You seem to be unbothered by everything, unbothered by his presence in a room full of other gentlemen. Eddie needs to test the waters. Eddie needs to know you care.
So he decides to grab a beer and approach the first customer of the opposite sex who happens to spiral into his periphery. It happens to be good ol’ Stephanie tonight.
A regular during the beginning days of the week, this kind hearted, very approachable redhead welcomes Hellfire’s owner with a smile, offering her beer bottle to Eddie for him to give her a clink, hello.
“Hey!” he chimes. “How uh, how are you doing?”
“I’m doing well, and yourself?”
Eddie grins. “Not too shabby.”
Performatively studying her with his eyes, he decides to ask her an innuendo-filled question. “You enjoying yourself tonight?”
“What’s it to ya?”
“I always like to make sure my customers are satisfied.”
Her brow does a fruitful quirk upwards.
“So you’re the owner huh? Already so young and successful. That’s quite impressive.”
“D’aww,” your boyfriend’s hands clutch his chest. “I appreciate that.”
You can’t help but look over, stomach warped into knots.
Eddie told you to stay away from guys. So why is he flirting with a girl? Specifically a customer you’ve interacted with before. Not that Eddie would know that, since he’s always in his office when Stephanie is here.
Eddie knows you see him now and that’s all the satisfaction he needs. Knowing he got the reaction he wanted, he excuses himself from Steph, strutting back over to his office to disappear for a while and let your mind wander.
But your mind is already two steps ahead. When Stephanie catches a glimpse of you, her eyes sparkle. You wave her over.
“You just keep coming back for more, don’t you?” you infer as she strides towards you.
Stephanie chuckles. “You just can’t seem to keep me away, Shy Girl. I owe Vicky and Robin one for putting me onto this joint.”
You swing your legs over so you can divert your attention to your stunning regular. She seems to be receptive to your flirtatious nature. And conveniently, the DJ transitions into a very fitting song:
“How are you doing tonight?” you assess her.
Stephanie shrugs. “I’m doing okay. The chick I was telling you about last week stood me up. So I’m here just trying to make myself feel better.”
“OMG I’m so sorry dude.”
But she brushes it off. “It’s okay. The loneliness will die down. I just gotta feel sorry for myself first.”
You rest a consoling hand on your shoulder. Before becoming exclusive with Eddie, you knew the feeling of rejection all too well.
“You’re welcome here anytime. Even if you just wanna talk. Girl to girl, we can even do a private room for an hour.”
Just then, Stephanie reaches into her bra and pulls out a twenty dollar bill with the smuggest look on her face.
“What about center stage? You tryna kiss it all better?”
You could’ve… and would’ve done it without the money. But knowing Eddie is in for the plot twist of his lifetime, you’ve rendered the deal priceless. Happily obliging, you accept the money Stephanie insists you take from her and extend your arms out.
“Bring it in, chica.”
It’s not what I’m used to. Just wanna try you on. I’m curious for you…
And then it happens. It starts with a timid smack of the lips to feel out both your comfort levels. The feeling of safety and trust propels you both further into realms of intensity you wouldn’t have thought of exploring with one another before. She tastes of cherry, with a hint of minty coconut.
You let out a satisfied hum. It registers as a vibration against her full, vivacious chest. Dancing your fingers in her wavy hair now, you pull her closer to your chest as your lips lock in tandem.
“WHEW!” you can hear Argyle shout all the way from the kitchen. “GAH DAMN!”
…I kissed a girl and I liked it. The taste of her cherry chapstick…
The uproar creates a chain reaction and soon all the gentlemen at Hellfire are hooting and hollering at the relatively unscripted act of affection in front of them. Soon, the money follows. Grinding your hips against her torso now, you chase the feeling of self-indulgence as you unravel yourself onto Stephanie. Right in time for Eddie to see.
I kissed a girl just to try it. I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.
Floored, confused, and just a tad aroused, your man stands at the foot of Vecna’s Lair with his hands curling at his sides.
It felt so wrong. It felt so right. Don’t mean I’m in love tonight.
His stiff cock protrudes at the posterior ends of his zipper, boxer briefs shamefully laced with the salty spouts of his leaky tip. Fuck, he’s so hard. But still, oh so very pissed.
I kissed a girl and I liked it. I liked it.
Standing where you knew he’d be, you shoot him a wink, letting him know that you’re well aware of his foiled plan. And after you and Stephanie thank one another for each other’s time, you prance off to the dressing room with mountains of bills in your hands.
———
“You think Eddie’s gonna like this green set?”
There’s an itch to burn the cash you got tonight, so you find yourself browsing the internet for lingerie on your phone.
“Oooh,” Nina coos in approval. “Yes girl. You’re gonna look like a sexy dragon of sorts.”
“Mm. And what about this g-string?”
“Yes, get it. I have the same one and it’s so flattering and comfortable. Look!”
Just then the door shoots open.
“Eddie, what the hell?!” Nina shrieks, quickly donning her cloak to cover up. “Knocking, fucker. Ever heard of it?”
You turn towards the entrance to find your flustered man at the door, scowling at you briefly before turning to apologize to Nina.
“Sorry, Neens,” his gaze softens sincerely. But Nina is already storming out. “I was dumb for that.”
“Yeah, no kidding,” you tsk.
You two wait until your colleague is out of range to engage in what you both know is about to be some pretty reckless behavior. When all is clear, Eddie wastes no time, pouncing on you, pinning you by the wrists to the drawer of your vanity, leaving love bites at the crook of your neck just keen enough to draw blood.
Pathetically, you love it. Your dripping cunt swells for the intensity — the fury of his rough hands — the vampiric blows to your hot pulse points — the rugged buckling of his hips as he digs his claws into the tender indents of yours.
“Eddie…” you whimper.
“This familiar?” he demands between breaths.
“Rings a bell,” you muster, tracing his large display of excitement with your trembling palm. “Though it seems like you don’t necessarily…have a problem with it.”
A sinister laugh escapes his throat.
Eddie huffs. “Think you can be a smart aleck with me without repercussions?”
As swift as they come, Eddie flips you around, easing you safely onto the desk portion of your vanity by the your neck. You squirm around like a brat, whining and kicking at him with your heels in playful retaliation. His fingertips then tightly enclose around your thin lacy bralette, causing a minor tear of the sparkly chrome fabric.
Too far. Grabbing him by the wrist, you eye him in disapproval.
“Eds!” you hiss at him, seriously this time.
“You’re buying new sets anyways,” he shrugs indifferently. “You know, with the money you got for being a needy little slut.”
You issue a low grumble as Eddie sinks his body atop the small of your back. The softness in Eddie returns again when he presses delicate kisses around the tip of your chin.
“Mine, remember?”
He spins you around again, ordering you to your knees with an authoritative snap. You oblige a little too quickly, but you don’t care. You’re at the mercy of him tonight and always.
“Yours…” you breathe, knowing he’s about to fuck you and your mouth to spit and tears. “Yours only…”
He smirks, satisfied with himself. You bite your lip eagerly as you watch the King of Hellfire — and your heart — unbuckle his belt, ushering his pants down to line his pulsing cock up against your lips. Desperate for more already, your tongue peaks out to say hello. The deep lines of his snarky face concave further.
“Pucker up, sweetheart.”

For the pregnant reader and Eddie think maybe the moment Eddie calls the baby his would be super cute? Just an idea! ❤️
Hiii babes!! So this moment is so damn cute and I think this is kinda how it would happen like randomly in the middle of the store. So I hope you enjoy!!💖
-This one I made the baby a boy because every other time I make Eddie a girl dad 😂🙈
*Clothes say a lot about you and Eddie can’t have his son looking like a dweeb*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“This is cute.” You hold up a little blue and white striped onesie, you smile at how small it is as Eddie looks it over and shakes his head as he turns and looks through the rack of infant clothes in front of him. “What’s with that face? It’s cute and simple.” You put the onesie back as you place a hand on your growing bump.
“It’s his coming home outfit babe it has to be more than just cute and simple.” Eddie explains as he pulls out a hanger that has a black onesie with skulls all over it. “This is cool.” You just laugh as you shake your head making Eddie let out a huff as he puts it back. The two of you had found out you were having a little boy a few weeks ago and since then the hunt for the perfect hospital outfit had begun. Eddie wanting him to look cool and metal while you just wanted something cute and comfortable.
You walk towards the end of the aisle and you bite back a smile as you pick up a little sailor outfit knowing Eddie is going to hate it the moment he sees it. You feel Eddie come up behind you and rest his hands on your hips as he places a kiss to the side of your neck. You hold up the little outfit and giggle when you hear Eddie let out a loud sigh as he rests his forehead on your shoulder.
“You’re really trying to make our son look like a dweeb aren’t you baby?” You feel your heart beat faster as Eddie speaks, you nearly drop the hanger as you turn around so you can look him in the eyes. “What’s wrong?” His voice is full of concern as his eyes search your face for any signs of discomfort or stress as he sees your eyes begin to water. He quickly reaches out and cups your face in his hands so he can wipe away the tears that slide down your cheeks.
“Our son?” Eddie pauses his movements as you reach up and place a hand over his that’s still holding your face. “You said our son.” You explain as you lean into his touch a little more.
“Is that okay?” His voice is unsure, he doesn’t want to cross a line or make you upset because even though to anyone looking it would seem the two of you had been together forever but in reality it’s only been a little over five months.
“Yes.” You watch a smile form on Eddie’s face as he visibly relaxes. You smile as he leans down and places a kiss to your lips making you pout slightly when he pulls away.
“I’m not letting him wear that.” Eddie states as he looks down at the sailor outfit still in your hand. “He’ll look like he’s about to go work a shift with Harrington at Scoops Ahoy.” You laugh and just roll your eyes making Eddie smile, he’s quickly fallen in love with the sound of your laugh. He lets go of your face so he can grab the hanger and put the outfit back for you.
“The search continues.” You tease as Eddie grabs your hand and leads you down the aisle, stopping when you see something cute but instantly putting it back when Eddie just shakes his head no at it. “If you don’t stop telling me no I’m gonna tell Wayne you were mean to me today.” You threaten as you hold up a solid red onesie with a green dinosaur on the front of it, Eddie playfully glares at you as you put a hand on your hip.
“You wouldn’t.” Eddie’s eyes go wide as you just give him a look that says you totally would. “Fine fine this one is cute. I like the little Dino thing on it.” You smile as you hold the onesie in one hand as the two of you continue down the aisle of baby clothes.
“I hope you’re paying attention little one.” You mumble as you place a hand on your belly. “Mention grandpa and your dad will fold instantly.” Eddie can’t help but grin at the mention of Wayne being called a grandpa and him a dad in the same sentence.
“Don’t listen to your mom.” You laugh as Eddie places his hand over yours that’s on your belly. “She doesn’t fight fare.” He teases making you roll your eyes as he leans over and places a kiss to your cheek. “But we love her don’t we little guy?” You smile as he looks from your belly to your eyes.
“I love you too Eddie.”💖

absolutely LOVE your writing! no pressure for this one but if it’d be fun for you—a reader who has some unusual boundaries with touch/physical affection, and isn’t ready for sex, and eddie being understanding and patient towards that? don’t want it to lack the affection altogether (the opposite in fact, i really want it included!) just would like for him to be thoughtful about it; asking permission for a kiss maybe or just generally making sure reader is ok before he goes further, you can run with it however you like i trust your direction! thanks much 🫶🏻
hello this has been in my inbox for WEEKS I am so sorry! thank you so much for sending it in - it's only little but I hope you like it :) we love patient Eddie in this house! [1k]
-
He stands a foot or so away, distant but within reach. He’s leaning on the counter, holding himself up with two hands and looking at you like he loves you.
He does love you; you know it, and you would know it even if he didn’t tell you a hundred times a day. You know it because he looks at you like that, because he brings you random bunches of wildflowers he steals from fields on his walk home from work, because he put up the picture you’d been meaning to hang without asking.
You finish putting the flowers in an old pint glass. They’re blooms of canary yellow and purple, and you know he picked them from the farmer’s field where that dog almost got shot last week.
“You should be careful,” you tell him, keeping your eyes on your busy hands. You bite your lip to hide a smile but it’s not worth the effort. He smiles back.
“S’worth it for you,” he tells you as you find a place for the flowers on the windowsill above the sink. The sun has gone down but you know that in the morning, the yellow will glow.
You lean into his space until you can hear his shallow breathing. He leans, too, bowing just slightly until you’re almost sharing breath. He keeps his hands on the edge of the counter behind his back and looks down at you like that.
“Good day?” you ask him, playing pretend that you’re not asking for it with the slow sway of your body.
“Mm-hmm,” he hums. “Missed you, though.”
You smile, eyes scrunching shut. “You were gone, like, nine hours.”
“Nine too many,” he says.
You look back at him for a beat, and it’s quiet, and you can hear his breathing and he can probably hear yours too.
You step your right foot in front of your left, and he takes his cue.
“Can I?”
You nod, and you catch something on his face break - it’s a crack like a pretty porcelain mask. He keeps his composure as best he can around you, but you know he craves to kiss you the moment he’s through the front door.
He dips his head and his lips meet yours, soft and quick. He smells like the remnants of his cologne and the woody scent of varnish, and when his tongue meets yours, gone as soon as it was there, you taste peppermint and swoon.
You think of Eddie fresh off a shift, ambling down the dusty road that he uses as a shortcut when the sun’s still out in the evening, chewing mints so he tastes nice when he kisses you.
As his lips disappear you pull in a quick breath. “More, please,” you whisper.
He asks no questions, planting his lips back on yours just the way you like. He’s so kind, and it lingers in everything he does, even when you know he’s itching to pin you to the kitchen counter and kiss you silly.
You mumble his name against the warmth of his mouth and tread on tiptoes around his feet until you’re directly in front of him. As you use your hands to find his and pry them away from the wooden countertop, you feel the tension in his knuckles ease. You wind your fingers through his and pull them close to you.
“You okay?” he whispers, mouth only leaving the blooming heat of your skin long enough for you to nod before he’s back, leaving warm kisses at the corner of your mouth and down your jaw. You make a sound that sends him dizzy, a breathy giggle, as his hands wind around your back and pull you flush to his chest. You wind your own fingers through his hair and tug gently until he makes that grumbling noise you love, akin to a moan but not quite there yet.
“Eddie,” you breathe, and he falters, hands spread wide just below your shoulder blades and lips closing in on your throat.
“Mm?”
“No, god, sorry,” you say, squirming, “more, please. Don’t stop.”
And so he doesn’t. He keeps going, giving kisses and taking them from you happily, until the two of you are tangled, unkempt and lucid, on the couch.
You’re resting on top of him, legs between his and face at his neck, mouthing lazily at the skin there between the artful blotches you’ve left there. You’re sure you look just as bad.
When you shift your weight, the warmth of your breath disappearing from by his ear, something within him awakens.
“You good?” he asks, voice shot, crumbling and low.
“Mm-hmm,” you hum. He deduces that this is an objectively happy sound and lowers his head back to the arm of the couch. You lift up to get a better look at his face.
“I think-” you begin, though you’re a little lost on where to go next. You see his eyes flutter open and he lifts his head again to meet your gaze. He says nothing, a silent encouragement.
“I think, maybe, I wanna…”
You’re playing coy, diverting your eyes but you keep drifting past his face just in case he shows a sign of filling the gaps for you, making this easier for you. But of course he doesn’t; instead you see the beginnings of a smile, one laced with something smug and something else, something kinder.
“Hm?” he hums, playful.
You roll your eyes and rest back on his chest. His fingers dance around your scalp and when you rub your face into the cotton of his t-shirt, he takes the signal and pushes them through your hair.
“You can say it, you know,” he tells you. You feel his words reverberate inside his chest.
“I know.”
There’s a beat, a quiet moment in which you match your breathing to the metronome thump of his heart.
“I might be ready,” you say.
“Might be? Or you are?”
“Might be,” you repeat.
“I’m here whenever you are,” he tells you, fingers repeating a soothing pattern in your hair. It’s the same thing he told you at the start, the same words that eased the pit of anxious worry in your gut the third time he took you on a date.
“Love you,” you tell him.
“Love you always,” he responds.

The relative calm of the cafeteria didn’t last for long, especially not when Jason and the rest of the basketball squad entered the room and took their seats at their usual table that was pretty much in the centre of the room considering they thought they were school royalty which was ridiculous, or so she thought anyway. Rolling her eyes and focusing back on her food as she listened into the conversation a few of her friends were having about a party at the weekend, one they had asked her to come too but she had refused as parties were not her thing. The loud music she could deal with but the drunk rowdy teenagers on the other hand, well she’d rather stick pins in her eyes than deal with them, no she much preferred to stay at home for a movie marathon or snuggled up under a soft blanket with a new book, both sounded like a better idea to her.
Her focus did not stay on the conversation for long, not when the familiar voice of Eddie Munson rang out through the cafeteria. A small smile worked its way onto her face as she turned to watch him, strutting along the table he and his friends sat at, his arms wildly waving about by his head as he passionately ranted away as his friends laughed along with him. To her, Eddie seemed similar to Jason in the sense that he was confident, loud and brash about things he cared about but there was one main difference. Jason was the cocky, self centred kind, believing that he is better than everyone else because his parents are rich and well-to-do, that he can do no wrong because he’s the captain of the basketball team. Whereas Eddie is confident in himself, he knows who he is, what he likes and doesn’t care if he fits in as long as he’s true to himself. It’s brave and she admires him for it which she thinks is what compels her to do what she does next.
Eddie’s speech doesn’t last long before Jason and a couple of his friends, who she hasn’t bothered to learn the names of, waltz up to him where he’s still standing on the table, now staring down at them with a challenging grin. “What can I do for you boys” he asks, innocently as if he doesn’t know that they’ve only come over to cause trouble and be rude to his friends.
“You know damn well what you’re doing freak” Jason spits and she watches as his hold body straightens as he looks up to Eddie, clearly not liking the power the higher ground gives him. “No one wants to sit here and listen to the shit you’re sprouting” he says matter of factly and the two boys beside him nod in agreement.
That’s all she can stand to listen to, she hates when anyone puts anybody else down but Jason and everybody else in this town for that matter seem to have a personal vendetta against Eddie just because of who his father is and because he refuses to fit in. It also annoys her that no one ever stands up for Eddie, not that he can’t handle himself but it’s always good to know you’ve got someone ready to fight your corner, to know you’re not alone in the world.
Anger bubbling inside her, she grabs her bag and pushes away from the table taking her tray of half eaten lunch with her as she ignores the questions from her friends about her sudden disappearance. She makes her way through the cafeteria without drawing anyones attention, being unnoticeable has its perks sometimes but she also has a feeling that it has something to do with the scene between Eddie and Jason that has captured everyone's attention. As she passes the bin, she dumps the contents of her tray into it but instead of heading in the direction to put her tray back, she heads towards the commotion.
Again no-one notices her approaching them or when she lifts the tray above her head but the resounding crack of it coming down on the top of Jason’s head and his following groan of pain as it hits is hard to miss. Jason’s two friends make no move towards her as she suspected they would but Jason is quick to whip around, arm already raised to throw a punch to the unknown person behind him and she braces herself for its impact. Only it never comes, instead Jaon stands frozen before her looking rather bewildered, it seems that Jason’s parents did at least teach him one good thing that it’s never okay to hit a woman which she’s thankful for as she doesn’t think the adrenaline coursing through her would be enough to numb the pain from a hit from him.
Although there is enough adrenaline left for her to curse Jason out, “You are a fucking asshole” she spits, proding a finger against his chest as if it would enhance her point, “You are insufferable, a jerk and-and” she faulters for more insults as the braveness she felt before wanes as she’s suddenly aware of all eyes in the cafeteria now being on her. She crosses her arms over her chest and takes a step back from him, “and for your information some of us enjoy listening to his shit” she finishes with a curt nod before turning and briskly walking out of there to find somewhere to hide as the reality of what she’s just done hits her.
On her way out what she doesn’t see is the look of awe on Eddie’s face as he watches her leave and he makes up his mind within seconds as he forgets about Jason. He reaches for his lunch box, flashing a grin to the just as bewildered members of Hellfire club before he practically launches himself from the table. He manages the jump pretty well, only landing with a small stumble as he rushes after her.
She’s halfway down the hall when she hears the pounding of feet behind her and she increases her pace thinking that it’s Jason coming for her but the mass of denim, leather and wild hair that appears beside her is answer enough that it’s not Jason. She actually wishes it was Jason for a second when she realises that it’s Eddie because she has no idea how the boy is going to react to what she just did.
“I cannot believe you just did that,so fucking metal honestly” he says as he grabs her arm to stop her from walking any further, “who knew that the shy, quiet, pretty girl would defend the school freak” he adds with a huge grin on his face.
“Don’t call yourself that” she frowns, this was not what she expected at all and she completely skips over the fact he called her pretty because if she focuses on it too much she’s going to do something she’ll probably regret - like kiss him. “You’re not a freak, you’re different sure but there's more to you than that prick in there” she states, placing her hand on top of his that’s still holding onto her arm as she nods her head back towards the cafeteria.
Eddie looks at her suspiciously as she talks, sure he practically fell in love with her the moment the empty tray came crashing down on Jason’s head but even still the kindness she bestows upon him seems too good to be true and he’s not at all sure if this is just some practical joke that Jason somehow orchestrated.
“Ok I’ve made this weird I’ll just go” she sighs as Eddie’s silence seems to stretch on but the moment she tries to walk away his grip on her arm tightens, not enough to be painful but enough to keep her in place. Now it’s her turn to be confused, “Eddie what-” is all she gets out before she’s interrupted.
“You’re serious? You’re not playing games with me?” he asks and it makes her sad that he would even think that she would do that to him, that anyone would do that to him. She shakes her head in response to tell him that no she’s not playing games with him and he relaxes, a smile lighting up his face, “and you like listening to the shit I say?” he asks, eyebrow raised teasingly and she feels her cheeks heat as he repeats back her confession she made earlier but she nods in conformation which only seems to make him happier. “What would you say to grabbing a milkshake at the diner with me after school then I can talk your ears off with nonsense?”
He phrases it like a question but it also seems like a joke to her as well and she’s unsure when she answers, wondering whether or not he’ll just laugh in her face and tell her it was all a joke, that he wouldn’t dream of going on a date with someone like her. Wait, was she getting ahead of herself? Was this a date? She didn’t know but the thought was appealing to her, a date with Eddie Munson, that was something her friends wouldn’t believe if she told them.
When she nodded her consent, Eddie’s already wide smile seemed to get even larger and it was infectious as she felt her own lips pulling up as he nodded almost as if he was surprised she said yes. “Good, great, I mean I’ll meet you out front after last class” he corrected himself as he bounced on the spot just as the bell rang and fellow classmates started filtering out of the cafeteria around them.
“Out front after last class” she repeated in understanding, a giddy feeling bubbling up inside her as she was swept away from him in the crowd of students with a promise of an evening spent getting to know Eddie Munson.
