As someone who knows nothing about Oberon but loves your art: where do I start if I want to understand your love for the man?

oh man. oh jeez ( wheezing ) haha okay. uhm. erhm. i didnt expect to get this far uhm ( shaking )

so here's the problem: oberon is from lostbelt 6, a chapter in hit gacha game fate/grand order. you can play f/go if you want and chug along to lb6 - which is unfortunately a chapter 6~ years into the game's main story. but i cannot with any sort of conscious recommend a gacha game to people.

so playing the game is one option. option two is checking out atlas academy database, a website that has all of fgo's stories and such conveniently catalogued! click 'main story' on the top of the page and it'll give you just, well, the main story.

if you want to watch the stories themselves - which at least for lostbelt 6 i highly recommend because the OST is amazing - there's also this commentary free LP on youtube that i've linked to people!

that being said that is still a lot of words to get to lostbelt 6, so- if you don't want to read everything pre-lostbelt 6, i recommend going to the typemoon wiki and reading the summary on each story pre lostbelt 6 ( so, up to lostbelt 5.5 ). just click on the link in each chart and you can find a detailed beat-by-beat summary of each chapter.

i've been told that, in all honesty, that lostbelt 6 is still enjoyable and easy to understand without full context for the outside story beats. it certainly reads like a fairly self-contained story outside a few things needed to understand why some characters are here in the first place, so i've been considering writing up a summary on just those key points / the premise to the lostbelts so that people can read that and then jump right into lostbelt 6 and love oberon...

hopefully this was helpful in any sense of the word heehe ... if you need clarification with anything feel free to send another ask !!!

what's your process for coloring like? the look of that elendira is so textured and interesting, i can't figure out how you do it

AA THANK YOUU ^__^ !! textures & brushwork are my favorite things abt my art, so im happy you find it interesting hehe . its SOO cool to look at & so much fun to draw imo

i prefer to color by building in layers , if that makes sense 🤔!! hundreds of them !! such that i'm always drawing on Top of previous layers, working from big & messy blocks of color to, eventually, small and refined blocks of color until it feels processed enough. as a result, i rarely ever erase (!!) and i rarely ever draw lineart aside from the initial sketch

a rough, patchy textured brush is key here, as it'll give you dimension and variability w/ your colors. i recommend "Brush and various sets of fountain pen style (万年筆風ブラシと色々セット)" on Clip Studio (ID: 1679706) !! :3

im terrible with explanations though, so i'm going to show a step by step of that elendira drawing if you dont mind :3

sketch layer !! because i mostly render through color alone, i try to make this as close to the finished thing as possible . ^__^ i hateee drawing the same thing over and over and like the expressivity and movement of my sketches anyways , so the more i can preserve at this step, the better. if u were to look at a side by side of my sketches and finished pieces, youd notice a lot of those og lines are present in the final drawing :3

2. flats !! pretty self explanatory, but the solid background gives me an idea of where the figure begins & ends while the colors themselves help distinguish whats what . i stick to ambient lighting @ this point because im usually not sure what i want to do with the overall palette or lighting yet . having two tones (ex, dark and light in her hair or dark and light on her skin) can also help in identifying key features early on that u wanna preserve. as you build layer by layer, sometimes these areas will remain untouched and i think it makes for a rly lovely feel at the end

3. start blocking !!! to be totally honest with you, i dont really know what i do here HAHAHA. like i just scribble the shit out of it, usually focusing on what i might want to do with lighting (ex: grey areas to accentuate folds in her costume). i think i like to start "erasing" the sketch where possible by coloring on top of it .. like if you look at her hat or her arm , you can tell i'm starting to get a sense of the shapes i like vs the ones i dont. it's at this point that the final image starts to emerge in my mind , like im gradually pulling her from a tarpit of scribbles until shes recognizable lol. chipping away at the marble until i can free her. tbh.

4. keep blockingg...when u think u are done , block some more . as you can probably see, the brushwork becomes more intentional as i add more shape, with specific focus on line weight. this is also where the patchiness of that textured brush comes in - notice how none of the colors seem totally uniform (ex: the red cross or the original sketchlines for her waist). you can see bits and pieces of the layers underneath pushing through and i really like that !! ^__^ its very fun and sketchy to me, so i try to keep them around. those areas are also great to colorpick from, because it'll give you "new" colors to work w/ that are already part of your palette.

5. GRADIENTS & GRADIENT MAPS !! TONE CURVE !! COLOR PICKER !! this is the best stage tbh. flatten your image so its all on one layer and just go crazy with all the color settings in ur program. add gradient layers and set them to darken, or overlay, or subtract, orrr. lighten or dodge glow or divide or soft/hard light.! OR!! edit the hue, saturation, luminosity and contrast.and then color pick from these edits, block even more on top of ur image, flatten, color edit again, etc. etc. until u feel satisfied.

ANYWAYSS . i hope that makes sense @__@ sry i wrote this out and deleted it like 23 times trying to make it make More sense but thats what ive got HAHA i hope its useful though :3 !

Yes, modern technology in comics has reached the point where artificial blood can be used instead of human blood, but there are still many traditional vampires (such as Ira's parents) who still maintain the habit of hiring blood slaves and sucking the blood of living people.

[Thank you] 🥰🥰 If you explain it carefully: the food itself is not harmful, but there may be trace amounts of heavenly impurities mixed in during the production process. The devil's body cannot digest these things, so it forms a halo outside the body, but this halo is basically the same when touched. It just broke, so there’s nothing to worry about 😌 (By the way, this kind of thing is unique to heaven, so the food cooked by Teacher Lin in the human world will not have this effect.

Yes, human food is like snacks to Ira. It can fill the stomach, but it cannot provide main nutrients. Drinking blood is to maintain the normal operation of body functions. He may prefer snacks 😉

[Star Wars] really scares him, and he will actively avoid any movie/animation containing aliens (he has never watched any superhero movie so far) film Oh)🤣 As for why he is afraid of aliens... there may be a chance to tell it in the comics later, so stay tuned~😊😊

1. Something you absolutely adore: I have to come back to my old reliable - Stay. This is possibly my most popular fic as of now, and my favorite to go back to to read. I love the five and one story telling style posts, and this one covered so many juicy points in Zevran and Revka's relationship in a really fun, stylized manner.

2. Something that was challenging to create: My multi-chapter fic encompassing all the major milestones in Revka and Zevran's relationship - Your Fire Burns In My Veins. Mostly because it's a behemoth of a piece I've been chipping away at as I have time and spoons, and because I've had to tweak and rework things as time goes on. I'm also not happy with the first chapter I have up for it, and think I might remove or rework it entirely at some point though it isn't a priority in any way. Still, it's a story about my favorite idiots falling in love, and I can't wait to be able to get to some of the scenes that've been in my head for them since I started shipping them.

3. Something that makes you laugh or smile: I'm cheating and listing two for this one, just because they're short one shots. >:) I did micro story prompts a while ago, and two in particular still stand out to me. In Dreams (prompted by @jinakadaisy) and Sea Change (prompted by @icylook). The former was a very fun experimental type piece for Revka and Zevran (surprising no one) from the perspective of a Fade spirit which was fun to toy around with, and the latter was a very self-indulgent look into an AU that may or may not ever turn into anything more substantial - but was still super fun to day dream about while writing.

4. Something that surprised you (how it turned out, how other liked it, etc.): My piece for Imakai Adaar immediately post breakup with Solas - Savagery. It's a piece I wrote on the fly, letting myself get really into the nitty gritty of emotions and the state of mind Kai would be in in that moment, and frankly I didn't edit it much at the time lol. I was so glad to see so many people outside of my usual circle of Tumblr friends liking and interacting with it, and it's given me a lot of enthusiasm for writing more for them when life allows.

5. Something you want other people to see: ...I'm going to cheat one more time and say Your Fire Burns In My Veins, just because A. I have a lot of juicy scenes in mind and B. lord knows I need the encouragement to get back into it when I can hahaha

Shopping in the tiny town was quite a hassle for Floyd today, not because he’s bored, but because everything he wants is sold out. Floyd was an eel on a mission, he was searching for a gift to purchase for his lover. An impossible task for the eel as he walked throughout the shops.

Currently, Floyd was in a bookstore to get the limited-edition cd of Napoleon Bonaparte from Ikemen Vampire. If he remembered correctly, this was something she, his lover, wanted so dearly. Approaching the table to where it was, he reached out for one last present. 

Floyd: *looks at the cover in confusion* Vampires? 

Fangirl 1: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It’s here! I got the last one!

Yep, turns out that girl swiped the last copy out of Floyds hands.

Fangirl 1: Thank you worker for handing this gift to me!! I can’t wait to listen to Nobunaga Shimazaki! I love his voice!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll pray for your kindness tonight!

As much as he wanted too, there was no way for Floyd to win against a die-hard fan. Taking a look at his clothes he noticed how similar it was to the bookstore workers. No wonder the fangirl mistook him for one of the workers.

However, that CD was one of the most requested items that he knew his lover wanted. Floyd was hoping to grab it as a last resort.

Floyd: If only that lady didn’t come out of nowhere, no, she probably would have beaten me up for it… Worker: Hey, you! If you have that much time to slack off, then put up this new stand! It’s for Ikemen Revolution Lancelot’s CD just came out!

Shoving a box full of displays to Floyd, he was forced to set up the display of Lancelot CDs.

Floyd: This doesn’t look too bad~ It’s pretty interesting to look at. *picks up cd*

Smiling to himself in awe Floyd got carried away at his own work of art to notice someone very important standing behind him.

Worker: I’m so sorry! I thought you were a worker, but it looks like you weren’t one at all! Floyd: Oh, you’ve realized the truth? Worker: Here, you can have the payment for the work you did today. Is there anything else you want? Floyd: Hmmm *looks down at the CD* 

Floyd: Well, he does look safer than that Napoleon~ 

A couple days later~

You: I see so that’s why you gave me Lancelot’s CD. *opens the cd* Huh? There’s another paper inside? Floyd: Read it! *all smiles*

Don’t you think this guy has a nice voice; I think we sound pretty similar. When you listen to this CD, I want you to picture it’s me saying this to you instead of Lancelot. Thank you for spending the holidays with me this time~

Turning towards your lover you immediately leaned in for a kiss but stopped yourself midway.

Floyd: Why stop halfway? *leaning over towards you* You: I won’t picture you as Lancelot. *pouting* I like you because you’re Floyd, you're the one I fell in love with. To think it’s you saying those words to me would be strange… Floyd: What?! It’s not a music CD! *giving a perplexed look* You: Of course not! 9. when did i realize i wasn't cishet?

i took me a long time to realize i wasn't straight. like... i was 20. when things got more... serious (?) with my ex.

and that i am not exactly cis either... well i guess that was like 2 years ago? my gender realization was or even is a bit of a journey... gender is very confusing- way more confusing than sexuality to me. i just know that "woman" isn't really the only label that works for me. (sometimes it doesn't work at all for me even)

14. how did other factors like neurodivergency and upbringing impact my identity

alright so i grew up in a very religious family. and it's not even as if they are like hardcore homophobes but they are a just a bit things like homosexuality or any kind of queer identity just... didn't seem like an option to me for such a long time? i've learned about all those things in high school (art school is gay lmao) and in my year abroad and on the internet... sexuality in general is kind of a big taboo or at least just not a topic that is talked about in my family.

so i would say that this ☝︎ cis-heteronormative environment that i grew up in was another reason why it took me SO long. i am also a turtle so it makes sense

as to neurodivergency: i don't wanna say i am neurodivergent without an actual diagnosis but it's a fact that i am a slow person and that i was a bit of the weird kid sometimes... so yeah idk.

i'd also like to point out that attraction to women is rarely validated. think about it... "hey i am lesbian" - "oh i am sure you'll find the right guy! just you wait" or "hey i am a bisexual woman" - same thing "oh it's just phase". but if a man says "hey i am bisexual" most people tend to say "nah you're just gay!" it is a really fucked up idea the patriarchy has created and i think it is another point why it took me so long to understand that my *cough* appreciation and fascination for women/girls throughout my life probably wasn't simple "appreciation" or even "fascination" but GODDAMN ginormous lesbian crushes lol

TURTLE! i am a turtle! you are a turtle! we are turtles! and turtles don't have a gender in my weird mind

i also like to use "lovelies". to me the terms "boi" and "gurl" (note: NOT "boy" and "girl") are gender neutral terms to use too. i absolutely love using "boi" for me because i am just such a boi xD (look up the meaning of boi here (but please ignore all the cishet definitions they are wrong))

Prooooompt!! When Sev gets bullied by a group of kids, James is forced to look back and confront his own past behaviour. --- I'd love it if Sirius and Remus are there, too, and I'd love for Lily to get angry at some point. I kind of see this happening during the time where Sev and James' relationship is not so good (which is a very ample period of time, lol), but feel free to modify the idea as you want.

I. First Warning

It happens during his first week at school and Severus is paralysed by terror as he waits by the headmaster’s door. His fears are confirmed when not only Lily but James, too, turn the corner. He is in big trouble. For starters, he had no idea they would call any parents after just one fight. In addition, he has thrown the first punch, so the bruise blossoming on his own cheek had been written off as self-defence and he is the only one facing serious consequences.

He wants to cry. He wants to run. Instead, he digs his trembling fingers in the wooden bench. As soon as Lily is close enough, she crouches down. Her fingers brush against his unscathed cheek.

“Oh, Sev, what happened?”

“I reckon it’s pretty obvious,” James snaps coldly, stopping just behind her.

I'm going to be honest, when I wrote out that post...I did not expect it to come back to me in ask form lol. I don't know why, but I assumed I wouldn't have to answer any of the questions hahaha. Ah well. Thanks for asking!! <3

Um...great question. I supposed probably Tammy Thompson Takes on the Upside Down or This Means War?

2. Did you have an fic writing goals? Did you meet them?

To finish a fic! I did not succeed, lol.

3. How many fics did you work on this year?

Too many. I started new ideas. Worked on my 5 or 6 main fics. Wrote a bunch of one shots and small series.

10. Did you receive any advice that resonated to you this year?

Hmm..I don't think so? Maybe tips of editing and things to look out for in my writing from @vixenofcourse? (like repetition, how to expand on my ideas and descriptions...)

19. What was your favourite comment/review you received this year?

Okay, I got like a novel of a review on The Art of Seclusion at the beginning of the year on Ao3 from henderson28. It was amazing and I absolutely loved it. I also got a novel of a review on Tammy Thompson Takes on the Upside Down from owlzilla. It was so awesome to get and read. I saved both of these reviews in my inbox and tend to reread them when I am unmotivated.

26. Did you discover any new fics or fic authors this year?

Yeah. A lot. I did a lot of fic reading this year. There's so many talented people out there and I felt very lucky to find them and their fics. Check out my bookmarks on ao3 for my faves!

1) Who is your favorite character to write for and is this the character you find easiest to write for?

I can’t possibly pick, I have so many characters I love writing for. The aaol couple, all of my tct characters, the SA lovelies. Like I even enjoy writing certain side characters like for example The Old Choi from OY. I couldn’t possibly pick because I pour so much in love into all of my characters no matter how big or small

except for CBT OC, she’s a bitch and I wanna fight her

2) What is your favorite fic of yours?

I love all of my stories very dearly ahhfhd but my Top Five (in no particular order) would be:

3) What fic of yours do you think is underrated?

My husband!Yoongi series. You guys, read it. He’s so cute!!

5) Do you like one shots or multi-chapters?

I like both. It all depends on my mood and what I want to create that day.

Oneshots feel like a quick daytrip. They are great if I have a random idea begging to be created or if I need a distraction from working on my longer stories. And they don’t really occupy my mind once I finished them, so they are always a refreshing way to pass the time.

Multi-chaptered stories feel more like a long journey without a set arrival time. They take up my thoughts for a period of time and stay with me throughout that time. Like for example, I will always see Late Summer of 2020 as my “Purple Rain Summer” as I actively worked on PR during that time and Fall 2021 will always be my “Sanguis Alpha Autumn” because that is what I worked on during that time.

6) Do you outline your fics? If so, how?

Not really? Most of my outlining happens in my brain throughout the day hahaha I have like a mental catalogue of all my story outlines on demand whenever I want to. I can actually visualise myself picking out a certain book and opening it and then flipping through its pages. Like no joke, I actually have a mental library of my WIPs I can always go to afadf

7) How do you edit your fics? What do you look for in your edits?

I reread the story at least two times after finishing it, then let it sit for a day or two and then reread it one last time. I look for grammatical errors, punctuation errors, plotholes, wonky sentences/dialogue and sometimes I also end up adding more details to scenes to make them even more engaging.

For my multi chaptered stories, I like to reread every chapter once after my entire editing process and then once right before posting just in case I missed some mistakes. 

8) Do you take inspiration from real life? If so how do you incorporate it into your fics?

Yes I do. I use my stories as therapy at some parts. It can be either through one character struggling and finding guidance in another character’s words. Or sometimes it’s just someone getting their face punched in while I imagined the face of someone who wronged me whilst writing the scene ahhaha I said what I said. Also obviously places, food, music, art, just living life inspires me as well and I like to incooporate it in my stories in some way or another.

9) Do you visualize scenes in your head before you write them? (Can you picture the setting, character body language etc)

I picture the setting & body language yes. I also smell scents. I mean not like actually smell them, but my mind connects certain scents with certain settings. My scenes are definitely very sensory imput heavy. Also, I can see my settings perfectly, I just suck at describing them. Like I know how the house of the OGC couple looks like & I can see myself walking through the SA estate into the smallest to details. I just can’t describe them to you guys hahaha

10) How do you feel about writing plot, setting/description, inner thoughts, dialogue?

how do I feel about it? I mean, I love it. Isn’t that the whole point of writing? That you create your own little worlds with their own plots & settings & history? I also love writing inner thoughts & dialogue. Also again, the only thing I always struggle with is describing environments. Like the pretty views are all in my mind, but I can’t get them on paper. No joke, if someone plugged a machine into my brain, which can conjure perfect replicas of how I imagine my worlds so I can show them to you guys, that would be great ahhaha

11) What perspective do you write from most and/or least and why? (1st, 3rd limited, 3rd omniscient, deep pov, etc)

Anything but 1st person, that makes me cringe so hard hahahah. I also had to google what “deep pov” means and I don’t think that I wrote that before either, but it sounds very interesting actually.

Also this is such a random sidenote but smut in German makes me want to drink bleach. I would rather give up writing forever then ever write smut in German hahahah

12) Do you like to switch pov's a lot or stick to one character?

I really enjoy switching POVs. It’s so much fun to tell the story from different characters’ eyes and how they might percieve certain events differently than other characters.

13) Are you a fast or slow writer?

I am neither fast nor slow, I am perfectly paced for my own self. Writing (as a fun lil hobby) should never be a race against time.

14) What is something you wrote in a fic that you are hoping readers picked up on but you don't know if they did? And/or, what is something that you were excited that readers did pick up on?

I had a few people tell me that they noticed the masked man in Ch.15 of SA say “little one” & that they remember Namjoon calling her like that in the library as well. So that was really cool because omfg yES you noticed!! 

I also really like it when people come to me after rereading a story and they go all like “omfg I noticed so many hints with the second read through, it should have been so obvious. It’s crazy how obvious some things are if you have more context”. Because that’s what I personally really love about revisiting stories, so it’s always nice to have people tell me that.

15) If you could only write one type of fic (angst, fluff, etc.) for the rest of your life what would it be?

Slice of Life happy moments & Smut between two people deeply in love oh those two just hit different

16) Do you have a method for getting characters to sound/feel in character?

Yes I have. I use certain vocabulary for certain characters and also structure my sentences differently. Let’s take Sanguis Alpha for example. If I wrote a scene out of Tae’s POV the sentences would be well structured and adorned with fancy, old-fashioned words. While during passages from Kook’s POV the sentences are short and sometimes many thoughts are jumble into one, because of how reactive he still is to every sensory imput and how every new imput can cause him to have a new thought.

17) Do you have any wips that you can tell us about? What are you most excited for in you wip?

YOU GUYS MAGNUS VENATIO IS RUINING ME OMFGF THE ANGST CONTINUES AND I CAN’T HANDLE IT ANYMORE I just had to make Tae cry and now I am broken because poor baby doesn’t deserve to cry :(

18) What's the most obscure thing you've researched for a fic?

Probably how quickly bullet wounds heal & how it feels to get shot in certain areas of the body (it’s for Family Matters because shit’s about to go down in that fic). Actually. Maybe also where to stab a person to kill them quickly fadsfha (it was for A Tiger’s Judgement). And like how certain poisonous mushrooms kill you (it’s for Fallen for You). lisTEN I could very succesfully kill people now HAHAHA for legal reasons, this is a joke lmoaoao 

19) What is some random info you happen to have that you used in a fic?

All of my photography knowledge in Shutter Sounds, that came in really handy.

20) What is your favorite thing about writing fanfic? What about writing in general?

Just that I can escape into my own little worlds and forget about the real world. And I guess about fanfic, it’s great because it’s with people you already know well so you miss out on that really tiring process of “getting to know the characters” because you already know how they might act & look and that can be really comforting to many people, including me.

Also, it’s also really fucking rewarding to look at a finished project and go “holy moly, those words in that specific order under that specifid plotline didn’t exist in this world before I created them and without me this story would have never even existed. I did that! I made a new thing from scratch!”

Today is a new me, changing my personality i didn't like. Like being too loud, laughing too much and chatting too much, i wanna be so quiet for a while.

Somehow, i feel off about them and i don't know why. This feeling is same as what happened last December 2021 too like staying away from everyone and stay to that special friend who's been there for you all those times. I wanna be with her too, i wanna enjoy those times we can't do due to pandemic. I ain't comfortable with my "friends" right now, it's just i can't vibe with them. Sometimes they rely on me which is tiring too, why always me? I really regret to be with you guys when we became a trio like my life become hell. Why the fuck i helped you for that? WHY THE FUCK NA TINULUNGAN KITA, IPAGTANGGOL KITA? FUCK THIS SHIT , WHY IM WITH YOU GUYS ? I WISH I WILL HAVE A CHSNCE TO GO BACK IN TIME SO I CAN RESTART EVERYTING I MADE A MISTAKES.

So i already finished the whole series right after 4pm , Its was so good! I cried at the end though, the only thing i could say is every person cards is so damn insane! unlike the number cards. Ahhh I'm feeling emotional. 2021 was a difficult year for most of us so having the opportunity to interact with wonderful people in the Moomin fandom truly made most of my days better. Thank you for all the laughs, all the support, the sweet comments and crazy ideas.

I always joke about how joining the fandom was a mistake because 1. I spend a lot of time in here and 2. It possessed like 90% of my brain. But genuinely? Joining it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me, and this is where I want to go with this post: The canon media isn't the reason why I'm so invested in this fandom (I haven't even read all the books!), it is the people I met here who have made my experience here the best thing that could have happened to me in 2021, and the reason why I would love to stay here for even longer.

5 Movies, 4 Songs, 3 Essentials, 2 Books, 1 Quote

Hoo boy. I've got some major thinking to do on this one hahaha. In the meantime, thank you to both @signifiquint and @bluesundaycake for the tag! <3

Movies - I normally forget these as soon as I finish watching them, so let's see how I do here. In no particular order...

1- Don't Look Up: I am annoyed by how much I liked this movie. I watched it while I was super sick over the winter and just lay there on the couch having existential dread for eons after lol. But it definitely stuck with me.

2- The Last Unicorn: When I tell you that this movie meant a ton to me though. Just a staple of my childhood, pure nostalgia.

3- OK look I know it's not the point of this exercise but I can't separate them: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy extended edition because momma didn't raise no quitter. I absolutely adored the books. The soundtrack was gorgeous, the set design and characters were amazing, and I may or may not have been a little obsessed with both Liv Tyler and Dominic Monaghan sooooooo yeah. Also, Billy Boyd had NO FUCKING RIGHT tearing my heart out and flinging into the fires of Mount Doom like that but okay.

4- The Mummy: [helpless bisexual noises]

5- The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Speaking of animation that I absolutely loved... this movie was just absolutely gorgeous. The soundtrack still hits like a truck.

Books - Look I haven't been very good about reading actual literature recently so uh. Here's my favorites from when I was a kid, minus LotR.

1- The Red Fairy Book - compiled by Andrew Lang (my mom had this and I absolutely adored stealing it from her. It's a compilation of a bunch of different fairy tales and is the only place I've been able to find Dapplegrim, which was one of my favorites.)

2- The Crystal Caves - Mary Stewart. (Also one of my mom's. This is the first of the Merlin Trilogy Stewart wrote -- tetrology if you count the Mordred one. This one was one I read and reread a lot.)

- according to andy there were 700,000 bugs just hatched where they filmed the wedding scenes that they had to edit out in post (also it was suuuuuper cold and cristin was shivering)

- ANDY CALLED HIMSELF A BUTT UGLY WEIRDO. NO SIR. U ARE THE FURTHEST THING FROM THAT.

- the dance move when he clapped his hands over his head “lightly hurt his schlong”

- they had 20-30 options for orchid explosion by fournier, cristin pitched some too that she “does not remember!” (she said that very cute)

- they talk about how great june squibb is and how andy is impressed that she wasn’t complaining about the cold/shooting at 5am/the fact that they improved a lil bit.  “she doesn’t not give a what”

- during the make out scene on the rock cristin goes “ohhh ~spicy~”

- they also had to have a snake wrangler come out before they shot that scene and he was like “uhh i think it’s good?”

- andy was excited about having to get shot by an arrow when he was reading the script (it was also the moment they realised this movie was zanier than first thought)

- the cave was the same place they shot the old batman movies

- they started working on palm springs on november 9th 2016…. hence the wedding date

- cristin said they did about 30 takes (at least) of her opening her eyes/sitting up.. basically the entire first half of the first day shooting she spent doing the same thing

- cristin is horrified that he’d choose to watch all of MASH to get him through a time loop

- andy said that their dance scene in the denim jacket replaces every iconic dance scene ever like fame/dirty dancing/etc etc and he’s right

- he dropped her in that scene bc his arms are “weak and floppy like a baby calf”

- the tattoo moment was the only fully improved scene

- they REALLY wanted it in the movie

- cristin insisted on the hook hand and eye patch and they obliged and she said she kept the hook hand and put it on her mantle and andy was like “prove it prove it prove it prove it prooooooove it”

- orange in the movie significies intimacy and that whole montage is coloured orange to show them falling in love

- they loved shooting the tent scene

- the first night they filmed it there was a sandstorm and rain and they had to hide under a tarp and they came back the next night and they were able to get looser with it bc it was the last day of shooting and they’d basically done the whole thing the night before

- the dinosaurs bit was a “symbolic moment between the characters - they are 2 people who don’t believe they can be loved so they’re feeling something impossible and therefore they should see something impossible”

- the wake-ups were like an acting exercise in a way bc each wake up was diff emotionally based on where they were in the loop

- nyles finally cares about something (her) for the first time in maybe hundreds of years and he immediately gets slapped down :(((

- “suck my dick officer bitch” was cristin’s ad lib!!! (if anyone makes a montage of her life’s work she would like it to either begin or end w suck my dick officer bitch, andy said why not both)

- “for some reason i rolled up one of my sleeves [after nyles woke up after their fight] and then we couldn’t get out of it so that was a lesson! it was a terrible choice”

- andy loves the overhead pool shot

- everytime andy watches the confrontation at the wedding he feels terrible for tala, we love an empathetic king

- re: roy’s arc andy talks about how important it is to relish what you’ve got and it was v v v v sweet

- everyone laughed so hard in the arrow/garbage bin scene

- apparently tyler’s shirtlessness in the shower was distracting for people in early tests and they had to tone it back w colour correction 💀

- cristin was like “did that happen when i had to take my shirt off?” and andy was like “uh huh yeah”

- the goat was on set for a couple of days + apparently cristin would talk to it in between takes 🥺🥺🥺 can she get any cuter

- max talked about how they lucky they were to get andy and cristin and how the movie wouldn’t have worked without them, they were so on the same wavelength and there was an early meeting where nobody else could get a word in bc they were talking so much

- nobody was in it for the paycheck, “it was for the love, and dare i say it, for the art” <3

- they took 3-4 nights to shoot the entire wedding, andy can Not stress enough how much they were rushing

- they haven’t busted out any bloopers yet bc they used pretty much every frame they could/reused them in different places

- cristin doesn’t want to know if nana knows bc the mystery of it is what makes the movie so great!

- andy said there’s no definitive answer to a lot of stuff bc a lot of the people working on the movie had diff opinions

- the french song w the slo mo bit of sarah in the bar was cristin’s choice

- andy is v confused why people think spuds is nyles’ dad,, he’s just tricking him into getting a ride and andy’s sorry to everyone who thought it was real

- cristin liked that the payoff at the end felt like payoff while still staying true to who nyles and sarah are and not just super romantic bc “it’s a romcom!” [andy said throwing his arms in the air]

- cloudbursting was andy’s idea from the very first meeting about the movie but we been knew

- andy: “here’s the ending! nobody knows what it means!”

- the family at the end was the producer’s family, they drove a very long way to do that 2 second scene lol

- andy and cristin were swaying to when the morning comes at the end 🥺

- andy clapped and shouted “WELL PRODUCED” when his/tli’s credit came up hahaha
