Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 2.8k
Original Request by: @amateurwriterbigdreamer
Previous Chapter: A Wizard, A Guardian and an Avenger Walk Into A Bar
Next Chapter: We’re in the Endgame Now
A/N: I put as much Eduardo and Y/N moments in as I could, hope you like it! Please comment what you like so far! Also the snap is in the next chapter.....
“There’s Dr. Strange.” You whisper to Peter and Eduardo, masks now off. The doctor is floating horizontally, surrounded by 2 foot long glassy needles. The alien is interrogating him, trying to get ahold of the Stone. He starts preaching about Thanos, and his plan to wipe out half the universe. You all exchange glances, shocked by the weight of the mission.
“Mr. Stark is gonna kill us.” Peter whispers to you.
“Dad will kill me cause I dragged you along. I’ll take the blow.” You shrug.
All 3 of you gasp when something touches you from behind, making you tumble out of your hiding spot. Your dads head snaps around so fast you hear his neck crack, and the amount of sheer rage on his face makes you want to hide.
“It was just the docs stupid cloak!” Peter grumbles as Tony storms over to you guys.
“What are you doing here?!” He hisses, staring at you for an explanation.
“Don’t get mad at them, I literally forced them to come with me.” You defend your friends.
“Y/N Stark, what did I tell you? This is way too dangerous for you kids!” He glared down at you.
“Dad, we couldn’t just-“
“I don’t wanna hear it.” He shook his head, bottom jaw jutting out in frustration. “Y/N, you’re supposed to be responsible. You were supposed to get back home. I told your mother you were back on earth, she’s going to kill us both if we don’t die up here.”
“I am responsible! Why do you think I’m here? I’m not just going to sit back and let Thanos kill half the population!” You argue.
“Don't pretend like you thought this through. You could not have possibly thought this through.” He points a finger on your face.
You open your mouth to snap at him, but a pained yell from Dr. Strange diverts your attention.
“We do not have time for this.” Eduardo says.
“Kids right, we got a situation.” Tony nods, then turns to you. “See him down there? He's in trouble. Since you’re so ready, what's your plan? Go.”
”Okay we’re gonna...” you lean over to scan the ship, then an idea pops into your head. “Have you guys seen that really old movie, Aliens?”
After you told them the plan, you took your positions. You and your dad flew over to distract the alien guy, El Dorado and Spider-Man stayed in the hiding spot.
“Painful aren't they? They were originally designed for microsurgery. And any one of them...” the alien asked Dr. Strange, then turned to us. “...Could end your friend's life in an instant.”
“I gotta tell you, he's not really my friend. Saving his life is more a professional courtesy.” Your dad shrugs.
“You've saved nothing. Your powers are inconsequential compared to mine.” The alien slowly approached you.
“Yeah, but the kids have seen more movies.”
You turn and blast an opening in the ship, and it begins to suck everything out with depressurization. The alien gets pulled out, and Dr. Strange begins to gets blown towards the hole. Spider-Man grabs him with his webs, El Dorado holding onto a strand of webbing and holding him back. The webbing breaks, sending them out of the opening. Just before Spider-Man and the wizard get sucked out, metal spider legs shoot out of his back and brace him. You fly over and pull them back inside, while Iron Man quickly sprays nanites onto the hole to seal it.
“We've gotta turn this ship around.” Dr. Strange stands up, his Cloak returning to its place among his shoulders.
“Yeah. Now he wants to run. Great plan.” Tony retracts his helmet.
“No, I want to protect the stone.”
They begin to argue, Spider-Man also joining in a few times. You roll your eyes as Eduardo teleports beside you, taking your armored hand in his.
“What’s wrong?” Eduardo whispers to you.
“Nothing.” You grumpily mutter.
“I know somethings wrong cause you stop with the sarcasm when you’re upset. Talk to me, Corazon.” He leans down and kisses you on your temple.
“You heard what’s Thanos’ plan is.” You sigh, turning to face him, away from the argument. “He’s gonna wipe out half of...everything. Everyone.”
“No, he’s not.” He shakes his head.
“What do you mean that alien dude just said-“
“He’s not going to because we’re going to stop him.” Eduardo presses a finger to your lips to silence you. “Thanos won’t even know what hit him. Okay?”
“But-“
“Okay?” He says, tone slightly more stern.
“...okay.”
“Do you trust me?” He asks, grinning and pulling you closer to him by your waist.
“Of course I do.” You smile, craning your neck up to kiss him.
“And who are you?” Dr. Strange’s voice raises. You both look over, seeing them all staring at you and Eduardo.
“El Dorado.” Eduardo says, teleporting you both over to them.
“Iron Maiden.” You cross your arms.
“Like...the band?” He raises an eyebrow at you.
“Yeah, we don’t have time for this. This flying doughnut is probably flying us straight to so base.” Your dad interrupts.
“Can we control it?” El Dorado asks as the adults move towards the controls.
“Fly us home?” Dr. Strange asks, though he doesn’t get a response. “Stark?”
“Yeah. I heard you.” Tony mumbles. “I'm thinking...I'm not so sure we should.”
“Under no circumstance can we bring the Time Stone to Thanos. I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here.” Strange scoffs, shaking his head in disbelief.
They start to argue over what to do next, go back to earth or fly straight to Thanos. You and your teammates exchanged glances, all shrugging to each other. Your attention snaps back to Iron Man as he approaches you, and all 3 of you expect another scolding. Instead, he goes and taps each of your shoulders.
“Alright, kids. You’re Avengers now.” He says, guilt and regret clouding his eyes. None of you really take notice, too excited that you’re now official Avengers instead of just a team of inexperienced kids.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Peter piped up. All of you look out the large window, seeing that you’re approaching a planet.
“I think we’re here.” Dr. Strange mutters.
“Shit. We’re about to crash.” Tony curses, rushing to a steering gimbal. “Y/N, get the other. Follow my lead. Move at the same time.”
You rush over and grab the other one, mirroring every move your father makes. The ship heads straight for the center of what looks like a giant game of jacks.
“You might want to turn!” Eduardo yelps as Peter clings onto him.
“Turn! Turn!” Peter shrieks to the both of you.
You mimic your dads movements as Dr. Strange steps between the two of you, summoning a shield of some sort. Eduardo and Peter scream as the ship roughly crashes to the surface, and you nearly fall over from the impact. The ship tilts to one side, thankfully only leaning and not toppling onto its side. Dr. Strange helps up Tony, while Eduardo teleports to you and lifts you to your feet.
“Let me just say, if aliens wind up implanting eggs in my chest or something, and I eat one of you, I'm sorry.” Spider-Man says, hanging from the ceiling.
“I don't wanna hear another single pop culture out of you for the rest of the trip. You understand? Any of you, for that matter.” Tony points at each one of you.
“I'm trying to say that.. something is coming.” Peter says.
You watch as something rolls to the center of the circle you all have formed, and the grenade pushes you all back when it explodes.
“Thanos!” A deep voice booms, and you watch as 3 people appear in the doorway.
A large man with pale blue skin and red tattoos throws a blade at Dr. Strange, who easily deflected it and he Cloak wraps around the mans face. Another man in a mask tosses a disc towards you and your dad, pinning both of you to the ground. A bug lady goes for Spider-Man, who screams and wraps her in webbing. Eduardo goes for the man in the mask, dodging blasts from his gun. Iron pulls free from the magnet, but you still struggle against its hold. You watch as the masked man wraps El Dorado in a head lock, blaster pointed at Spider-Man, also held to the floor by a magnet. Iron Man has the tattooed man pinned under his foot, Dr. Strange had shields up and ready to fight.
“Alright, everybody, stay where you are... chill the F out.” The masked man retracts the helmet, revealing a normal human face. “I'm gonna ask you this one time. Where's Gamora?”
“Yeah, I'll do you one better. Who's Gamora?” Tony also retracts his helmet.
“I'll do you one better! Why is Gamora?” The tattooed man bellows from beneath your father.
“Tell me where my girl is, or I swear to you, I'm gonna French-fry these little freaks.” The previously masked man signals to Spider-Man and El Dorado.
“Hey man, that’s racist.” Eduardo quips, but shuts up when the blaster is pointed to his head.
“Let's do it! You shoot my guy, I blast him. Let's go!” Iron Man extends a canon out of his armor, pointing it down to the tattooed man.
“Dad!” You snap.
“What?!” Eduardo and Peter both whimper.
“Do it, Quill! I can take it.” The tattooed guy says, full of confidence.
“No, he can’t take it!” The big lady calls.
“She’s right, you can’t.” Dr. Strange deadpanned.
“Oh yeah? You don't wanna tell me where she is? That's fine. I'll kill all 5 of you and beat it out of Thanos myself.” He starts to activate his blaster, still pointed at Eduardo’s head. “Starting with you.”
“No!” You shout, trying to pull yourself off the ground.
“Wait, what? Thanos?” Dr. Strange squinted. “Alright, let me ask you this one time: What master do you serve?”
“What master do I serve? What am I supposed to say? Jesus?” The guy laughs.
“You’re from earth?” You ask.
“I'm not from Earth. I'm from Missouri.” He looks at you.
“Yeah, that’s on earth, dipshit.” Tony snapped.
“So, you’re not with Thanos?” Peter asked timidly.
“With Thanos?” The guy lowers his weapon momentarily, indignantly scowling. “No, I'm here to kill Thanos! He took my girl- Wai- who are you?”
“We’re the Avengers, el boludo.” Eduardo stated, still weary of the gun pointed at him.
“You’re the ones Thor told us about!” The bug lady exclaims.
“You know Thor?” Tony asked.
“Yeah. Tall guy, not that good-looking, needed saving.” He lowered the gun and let go of El Dorado. “So, you’re after Thanos too?”
“No.” You say sarcastically. “Now can you get me off of this thing?”
“Right.” He nods, pressing something and deactivating the magnetic fields for you and Peter. Iron Man steps off of the big guy, who then walks over to the big lady and mask dude.
“Boys, you can come in now.” One of them says into a com. Two guys walk in, and your jaw drops at who it is.
“Tye?! Jaime?!” You, Eduardo and Peter all exclaim.
“Oh shit-“ Tye winced when he saw Tony.
“You guys too? Seriously?” Tony says with a straight face, which is never a good sign.
“You guys know each other?” The mask guy asked them.
“You know them?” Eduardo points. “He tried to kill me!”
“So this looks bad...” Jaime says, pulling Tye back, who tried to avoid the confrontation. “We got trapped on a ship, they helped us out.”
“How did you get trapped on a ship too?!” Tony shouted, about to burst a blood vessel.
“How many children do you have?” Dr. Strange asked judgementally.
“Just these ones.” Tony seethed. “And they’re all disobedient and just like me, apparently.”
“Why are you guys up here too?” Jaime asked you.
“We got trapped too.” Peter and Eduardo look at you.
“We’ve been over this, it was for a good reason!” You defend yourself, before turning to the 3 people Tye and Jaime were with. “Now, who the hell are you guys?”
“We’re the Guardians of the Galaxy.” The mask guy grinned proudly. “Call me Star Lord, little lady. This is Drax and Mantis.”
“Great. Now that we’re through with formalities, we should come up with a proper plan.” Dr. Strange said.
“Agreed. Let’s go scope the place out. You’re all grounded when we get back home, I hope you know that.” Tony gestures to the 5 of you as you walk together behind the adults.
“Guess what, gomías?” Eduardo turns to Tye and Jaime.
“You guys have food that isn’t in a silver plastic bag and freeze dried?” Tye asked hopefully.
“No. We got crowned Avengers, and you didn’t!” Eduardo sang.
“What? No fair! Mr. Stark!” Jaime ran ahead to them.
“So did you guys actually get stuck on a ship?” Peter asked Tye.
“No, Jaime kidnapped me.” Tye rolled his eyes.
“Interesting.” Peter narrowed his eyes at you, as Eduardo snickered.
“Oh, shut up!” You playfully shove Peter, before you emerge form the ship.
“The heck happened to this planet? It's eight degrees off its axis. Gravitational pull is all over the place.” Star Lord thinks out loud, holding out some sort of measuring device.
“Yeah, we got one advantage. He's coming to us. We'll use it. All right, I have a plan.” Tony days as you all join him. “Or at least the beginnings of one. It's pretty simple. We draw him in, pin him down, get what we need. Definitely don't wanna dance with this guy. We just want the gauntlet so-“
Drax yawns, your dad stopping mid sentence to stare judging at him.
“Are you yawning? In the middle of this, while I'm breaking it down? Huh? Did you-did you hear what I said?” Your dad asks, flabbergasted.
“I stopped listening when you said ‘we need a plan’.” Drax mumbled.
“Okay, Mr. Clean is on his own page.” Tony shook his head.
“Yeah...” Tye pursed his lips, glancing at his best friend.
“See winging it isn’t really what they...do.” Jaime scratches the back of his neck.
“Uh, what exactly is it that they do?” Peter asked.
“Kick names, take ass.” Mantis says with the confidence of a drunk man.
“Yes, that’s right.” Drax agreed.
You all stare blankly at them in disbelief, then to turn to Star Lord, who grins cockily.
“Alright, just get over here, please. Mr. Lord, can you get your folks to circle up?” Tony sighs.
“Mr. Lord.” Star Lord snickers as he signals for Mantis and Drax to come closer. “Star Lord is fine. Or Quill, I suppose.”
“We gotta coalesce. 'Cause if all we come at him with is a plucky attitude-“
“Dude, don't call us plucky. We don't know what it means.” Star Lord scoffs, your dad staring at him in utter disbelief. “Alright, we're optimistic, yes. I like your plan. Except it sucks, so let me do the plan, and that way it might be really good.”
Your dad opens his mouth to respond, before Drax pipes up again.
“Tell the children about the dance off to save the universe.”
“That’s...it’s nothing.” Quill shrugs, brushing it off casually.
“Like in Footloose?” Eduardo asked from beside you.
“Exactly like Footloose.” Star Lord smiled excitedly. “Is it still the greatest movie in history?”
“It never was.” Tye mumbled, Jaime elbowing him.
“Don’t encourage this.” You scold them.
“You know, Tye. I was going to adopt you. Not anymore, sonny.” Quill stuck his nose in the air, offended.
“Oh no. Whatever will I do?” Tye deadpanned.
“He’s my kid, anyways.” Tony says, before mumbling to you. “We're getting no help from Flash Gordon here.”
“Flash Gordon? That’s a compliment by the way. Don’t forget, I’m half human.” Quill points to each and every one of you. “So that 50% of me that’s stupid? That’s 100% you.”
“Your math is blowing my mind.” Your dad looks ready to tear Quills head off.
“Excuse me, but...does your friend often do that?” Mantis cleared her throat.
You all fall silent as you look past her to Dr. Strange. He’s sitting cross legged, floating in the air. His head is jerking rapidly from side to side, blurring but it appears as if he’s looking for something.
“Strange! We alright?” Tony shouts, as you slowly approach and gently grab his arm.
His eyes snap open as he falls to the ground, letting out a cry.
“Hey, you’re okay.” You say in your most comforting tone.
“You’re back, you’re alright.” Tony crouches down next to you as the others gather from a short distance away.
“Hey, what was that?” Peter asked.
“I went forward in time to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of the coming conflict.” Dr. Strange pants.
“How many did you see?” Eduardo asked as he stood beside you.
“14,000,605.”
“And how many did we win?” You ask.
Your heart aches and your stomach drops at the look on his face, hopelessness flashing in the wizards eyes. You grab Eduardo’s hand as dread washes over you.
“One.”

The Rise Of Iron Maiden
Chapter 5: The Return of Iron Maiden

A/N: hope y’all don’t mind it from Tye’s POV, it just adds to the story and develops his character. Y/N gets her character arc going too towards the end.
5 YEARS LATER
Tye sighed in boredom as he wandered around the halls of the Avengers Compound, his home for 8 years now. He was 21 now, legally an adult. He could’ve gotten his own place 3 years ago, but he felt he would truly be alone if he did that. You lived with your parents and younger sister in the countryside, your dad wanting to isolate you from the hero life. This meant Tye hadn’t seen you for almost two years now, his only friend left was taken from him. He knew Tony didn’t mean any harm, he just wanted his daughter safe, but it still confused him.
Tye was always confused these days. He lived with Natasha Romanoff at the Compound, the only one left that was willing to stay with him. Clint had disappeared off the face of the planet, despite not being taken in the Snap. Tye was lost without his own best friend, Jaime Reyes. Jaime and him stuck together no matter what, and Tye never knew what to do without him. He was confused, on why the world seemed to take everything away from him. His mother, his father, his grandpa, his best friends, his team, his mentors...
“...Will you find out where he's going next?” Natasha asks holographic Rhodey. Tye realized he walked into the meeting room, where Natasha was having her weekly check in with the other teams.
“Nat...” Rhodey trailed off.
“Please.” She took a shaky breath.
“...okay...” Rhodey nodded, saw Tye, then cut off his side of the connection.
Nat started to cry miserably, and Tye didn’t know whether to make his presence known or just leave. He decided on the latter, turning to walk out silently.
“Tye?”
Tye winced, feeling like he was intruding. He turned slowly, a pang of sadness stinging through him when he saw the sorrow in Natasha’s eyes.
“Nat, Uh...Sorry, I didn’t mean to just barge in-“
“It’s okay.” She chuckled, wiping her eyes. “You want some dinner?”
“Uh...no, I’m good.” Tye shook his head, seeing the half eaten PB&J on her desk. “See you’re eating healthy.”
“Oh, what’s the point of keeping up a proper diet anyways?” She laughed, despite the few tears rolling down her face.
“Good point.” He cracked a grin, which she rarely saw the young man do. “So...anything bad happening anywhere?”
“No. Everything seems under control.” Nat shook her head. “Why? You worried about something?”
“It’s nothing, mom.” Tye shook his head. When he didn’t get any response, he looked up from staring at the floor, seeing Natasha staring in surprise at him. “What?”
“You called me mom.” She said, the shock evident in her voice.
“I did? Oh...uh...sorry, I didn’t mean to it just kinda-“ he started to awkwardly walk away.
“No no no!” She stood up, clearing her throat and a smile spreading across her face. “It Uh...you think of me as a mom?”
“I mean...yeah.” Tye mumbled, embarrassed. He wasn’t used to letting his emotions or thoughts be exposed like this. “You practically raised me ever since I got...stuck here. I’ve always looked up to you.”
“That...really?” She smiled wider, tears running down her face again.
“Oh don’t cry! This is sappy enough as it is!” Tye grumbled as Natasha laughed at his reaction. She rounded the desk and pulled him into a hug, Tye stiffening at first. He eventually grew comfortable enough to hug her back, feeling safe in her arms. It reminded him of his mother’s hugs, but somehow Natasha’s were more...genuine. Loving. It was nice. Something Tye wasn’t used to.
“I’ll tell you a secret, kid.” She ruffled his hair as she pulled back. “I’ve always wanted a son, and I am so happy you’re the one.”
“Okay, that’s enough love and affection for one night, Nat.” Tye shuddered, making her laugh again.
“Don’t you mean mom?” She teased.
The mother and son (sort of) whipped around when a hologram popped up, seeing footage of what looked to be a security camera.
“Oh! Hi. Hi! Is anyone home? This is Scott Lang. We met a few years ago, at the airport? In Germany? I got really big, and I had my mask on. You wouldn't recognize me.” Scott Lang, AKA Ant Man waved at the camera.
“Is this an old message?” Tye asked.
“It’s the front gate.” Nat stared in disbelief.
“Ant Man? Ant Man, I know you know that. I need to talk to you guys.” Scott shouted.
Nat typed a few things into a control panel, and the door opened. Scott looked between the camera and the door for a moment before finally letting himself in. Scott found his way to where they were standing, in complete shock. Scott Lang was supposed to be dust right now, along with half the universe.
“Scott? Are you okay?” Tye asked the man, now nervously pacing.
“Yeah. Fine. So you do know me? Or are you just going with the name I gave you?” Scott asked.
“No uh, my friends broke into your house a few years ago. Before the Snap, remember a guy in a spider suit and another in a beetle suit?”
“Right! The Bug Squad!” Scott smiled excitedly. “That was so cool.”
“Scott, focus.”
“Right. Have you guys studied Quantum Physics?”
“Only to make conversation.” Nat said, though neither guy could tell if she was joking.
“Sorry, no.” Tye pursed his lips.
“Alright. So... five years ago, right before Thanos, I was in a place called the Quantum Realm. The Quantum Realm is like its own microscopic universe. To get in there, you have to be incredibly small. Hope, she's my...She was my...She was supposed to pull me out. And then Thanos happened, and I got stuck in there.” Scott explained.
“I’m sorry, that must’ve been a long five years.” Nat said.
“Yeah, but that's just it. It wasn't. For me, it was five hours.” Scott shook his head rapidly. Tye looked at his mom, bewildered.
“See, the rules of the Quantum Realm aren't like they are up here. Everything is unpredictable. Is that anybody's sandwich? I'm starving.” Scott asked, already shoving half of it into his mouth.
“Scott, what are you talking about?” Tye asked, crossing his arms.
“What I'm saying is, time works differently in the Quantum Realm. The only problem is right now, we don't have a way to navigate it. But what if we did? I can't stop thinking about it. What if, we could somehow control the chaos, and we could navigate it? What if there was a way to enter the Quantum Realm at a certain point in time but then exit at another point in time? Like... Like before Thanos.” Scott slowly explained, motioning wildly with his hands.
“Wait, are you talking about a time machine? Like from Back to the Future?” Tye raised his eyebrows.
“No. No, of course not. No, not a time machine. It's more like a... Yeah, a time machine. I know it's crazy. But I can't stop thinking about it. There's gotta be some way...There's gotta be...some w... it's crazy.” Scott rambled.
“Scott, I get e-mails from a raccoon, so nothing sounds crazy anymore.” Natasha scoffed.
“So who do we need to talk to about this?” Scott asked them. Nat and Tye exchanged glances again, both knowing the answer.
You tapped your fingers impatiently on your windowsill, looking out the window of your bedroom.
You had received a text from Tye Longshadow for the first time in months, and they were coming to your house. You were sworn to secrecy, so that your dad couldn’t prepare for the attack. You were anxious, wanting to see them so bad.
Your dad had isolated you from anything that had to do with being Iron Maiden. That included a lot of people in your life. You were mad at your dad, for taking you away from what little you had left. You missed Tye, you missed Natasha and Steve, and Rhodey and Dr. Banner. Thor and Clint, even though they weren’t really around anymore. Even Nebula and the rude raccoon. You were forbidden from putting on the Iron Maiden suit, and you didn’t know why you listened to him. You were an adult, you could make your own decisions. Plus, you’d never listened to him before. Maybe you listened this time because the guilt of not listening before the Snap dragged you down. But it also dragged you down as a person. You weren’t as happy or sarcastic anymore, you’d lost the classic Stark Charm™️.
You looked at the photos on your window sill, smiling sadly as you reminisced about what felt like your past life. One photo was you and your team after your first official Avengers permitted mission, all beat up and tired, sitting at a pizza booth. The other was of you and Peter in middle school, holding the first prize ribbon of the science fair. The last was of you and Eduardo, the love of your life. Peter had snuck a picture of you two sitting across from each other at a diner, smiling and looking into each other’s eyes. Your fingers were intertwined in the picture, and all you wanted to do was feel his hand in yours again. To hear his voice in person, not just from old videos. To smell the scent of his fancy cologne. To look into his beautiful, big brown eyes. To feel his lips on yours...
You look up when you see a black Audi pull into your driveway, and you bolt downstairs. Your mother was thankfully working in her office, so you didn’t get scolded for running in the house. You ran down the gravel pathway, passed your dad and little sister, running to your last friend standing. He let you hug him, and to your surprise he hugged you back.
“Good to see you.” You say as you pull away from Tye.
“Yeah, you too.” He nodded.
“You still wear a headband, I see.” You grin teasingly.
“You still haven’t gotten taller, I see.” He retorted.
“Now, we know what it sounds like...” Scott trailed off after the heroes explained their (currently) hypothetical plan to you and Tony.
“Tony, Y/N, after everything you've seen, is anything really impossible?” Steve asked. He knew you had taken up your time studying everything, following your father’s footsteps.
“Quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck Scale, which then triggers the Deutsch Proposition.” You mumble, lost in thought.
“Can we agree on that?” Tony asked his fellow Avengers. They all look at each other, clueless. “In Layman's terms, it means you're not coming home.”
“I did.” Scott shrugged as Tony handed them drinks.
“No, you accidentally survived. It's a billion to one cosmic fluke. And now you wanna pull off a...What do you call it?”
“A time heist?” Scott suggested, a goofy grin on his face.
“Yeah, a time heist. Of course, why didn't we think of this before? Oh, because it's laughable? Because it's a pipedream?” Your dad scoffed.
“The Stones are in the past. We can go back and get them.” Tye explained.
“We can snap our own fingers. We can bring everyone back.” Natasha added.
“Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?” Tony raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t believe we would.” Steve said confidentially.
“Gotta say, sometimes I miss that giddy optimism. However, high hopes won't help if there's no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist. I believe the most likely outcome would be our collective demise.” Tony ranted.
“Not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel. That means no talking to our past selves, no betting on sporting events-“ Tye listed.
“I'm gonna stop you right there, Tye. Are you seriously telling me that your plan to save the universe is based on Back To The Future?” Tony asked his ex-mentee. “God, I’m gone for a couple years and you start saying stupid shit like this?”
“...no.” Him and Scott mumbled in unison.
“Good. You had me worried there. 'Cause that'd be horse shit. That's not how quantum physics works.”
“Tony...We have to take a stand.” Natasha tried to persuade him.
“We did stand. And yet, here we are.”
“I know you got a lot on the line. You got a wife, daughters. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did.” Scott said desperately. “And now, now we have a chance to bring her back. To bring everyone back. And you're telling me that won't even...”
“That's right, Scott, I won't even. I have kids.”
As if on cue, Morgan runs out onto the porch, your dad picking her up.
“Mommy told me to come and save you.” She said shyly, weary of the new faces.
“Good job. I'm saved.” Tony kisses her on the head as he picked her up, before turning back to the heroes. “I wish you'd come here to ask me something else. Anything else. Honestly, I...I missed you guys, it was...Oh, and table's set for seven.”
“Tony, I get it. And I'm happy for you, I really am. But this is a second chance.” Steve tried to reason with him.
“I got my second chance right here, Cap. I can't roll the dice again. If you don't talk shop, you can stay for lunch.” Tony said, and it stung when he didn’t point to you too. You watch him leave, ignoring his orders to come inside.
“I’m in.” You tell them.
“Won’t your dad...?” Natasha trailed off.
“He’s not in control of me.” You shook your head. “If there’s even the slightest chance this will work, I’m in.”
“It’ll definitely work if we have a Stark with us.” Scott grinned.
“Glad to have you back, Iron Maiden.” Steve pat your shoulder.
You smile, not hearing yourself be referred to by that name in such a long time. It made your heart fill with pride, and fueled your determination.
“Y/N Stark.” Tony said from the doorway.
“Don’t leave without me.” You tell them, glaring at your father as you push past him.
“Y/N, where are you going?” Your dad demanded.
“With them.” You spat as he follows you upstairs. “I’m going to try. Unlike you, I have hope.”
“It’s not that I don’t have hope. I just can’t risk any of this.” Tony insisted.
“Any of what? What kind of life is this, dad? Sure it’s great for you, but did you ever stop to look at it from my perspective?” You ask as you grab a bag from under your bed, tossing your photos from the windowsill into it.
“All I’ve ever done is protect you.” Your dad says through his teeth. “Why are you doing this? To get back at me?”
“No dad! I’m doing this because I want everyone back! This is my chance to save everyone! It’s my fault Thanos did this in the first place! If I was stronger, Eduardo would still be here! Peter! Jaime! Bucky! Wanda! The Guardians! Doctor Strange! Sam! Don’t you care about any of them?”
“Of course I care about them! But I care about my family more!”
“They’re my family!” You yell at him, the frustration that you’ve been bottling up for years finally pouring out.
“So that’s it?” Your dad scoffs and shakes his head in disappointment. “What if you screw this up? Huh? What if you make things worse. You’re willing to risk your mother’s life? Your little sisters, for your boyfriend?”
“You know what? Yes.” You snap, zipping your bag up and tossing it over your shoulder. “Not just for him. For everyone. For my life. I want my life back, and apparently that’s something you can’t give me.”
You storm out of your room and down the stairs, seeing Morgan sitting at the table, eating lunch. She grins when she sees you, looking at your bag.
“Where are you going?” She asked as you walked over and kneeled next to her seat.
“I’m gonna go see some old friends for a little bit. Think you can hold down the fort around here?” You ask her.
“Yeah.” She smiled.
“Are you sure? It’s gonna be tough without me.” You tease her. “You’re gonna have to make sure daddy does the laundry right, you know how he always mixes up the soaps. And you have to make sure to save daddy from mommy’s scolding. Think you can take it, soldier?”
“I can take it.” She nodded happily.
“Alright.” You hug her. “Love you, kiddo. See ya later.”
“Bye.” She waved at you until you shut the door, and walked down to the car with the others.
“Iron Maiden and Apache Chief, back again.” Tye fist bumped you.
“Iron Maidens back in the game!” You cheer happily.
“He’s scared.” Natasha said to Steve and Scott.
“He’s not wrong.” Steve shrugged.
“Yeah, but I mean, what are we gonna do? We need him. I mean, we managed one Stark, but we need both. No offense, Ms. Tony Starks Daughter. What, are we gonna stop?” Scott rambled nervously.
“No, I wanna do it right. We're gonna need a really big brain.” Steve shook his head.
“Bigger than his?”

The Rise Of Iron Maiden
Chapter 1: A Wizard, a Guardian, and an Avenger Walk Into a Bar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.3k
Original Request by: @amateurwriterbigdreamer
Next Chapter: So, You Want to be an Avenger?
A/N: this ones Tye and Jaime heavy but I promise the next chapter is more centered around Y/N and Eduardo
“Lalo, did we really have to go all the way across town for coffee?” You asked as your boyfriend, Eduardo Dorado Jr led you into a small coffee shop.
“Trust me, princesa.” He grinned as he opened the door for you, before adding sarcastically, “It is worth the treacherous, enduring limo ride.”
You roll your eyes, but let him lead you inside. You both get coffee and pastries, then sit in the back table together. Ironically, L-O-V-E is playing softly from the little radio the barista had set behind the counter. You swear, Eduardo probably paid for them to play the song, it was such an Eduardo thing to do.
He rambled on about some petty argument he got into with someone at S.H.I.E.L.D, but you were busy thinking about luck. Specifically how it was on your side all those years ago.
When you were 13, some workers in Stark Industries’ science department had been testing a teleportation device, and somehow they teleported Eduardo Dorado Jr, Tye Longshadow and Jaime Reyes from another dimension. They tried for months to get them back to their reality, but it was no use. You were always around the lab, since it was owned by your father, Tony Stark. You had grown close to all 3 of them, being the only one in the building their age. You grew up together, becoming best friends. When they developed powers, and you were finally given a suit, Director Fury agreed to let you be an official team.
You and your father argued for weeks about it, but you won every single time. You pointed out that Spider-Man was your same age, so it wasn’t any different. He would say it was different cause you were his daughter, but thankfully you had inherited his stubbornness, so you became the rising hero, Iron Maiden. And yes, he totally helped you pick out your name.
You and Eduardo fell in love with each other, and had begun dating when you were 15. You were both charming and suave people, so at first you both thought that it was just all meaningless flirting. You had developed feelings for each other, and everyone saw it but the two of you. Rhodey and Pepper noticed first, Tony didn’t realize it until he found out you two were secretly dating for 3 months. It was quite sad really, he claimed to be the smartest man alive, and yet he couldn’t see his daughter completely head over heels for her best friend.
Your thoughts are interrupted when there’s a weird hum in the air, then suddenly the windows shatter. Eduardo jumps in front of you, shielding you from the broken glass. You both watch with your eyes wide as a giant ring shaped UFO lands in the middle of the street, causing clouds of dust to flood the streets. You quickly activate your iron suit, holding up a shield for you and Eduardo, the barista safely behind the counter.
“What the hell is that?” Eduardo shouts over the screams of people on the street, car alarms, and what seemed to be engines of some sort from the ring.
“I don’t know! But we need to go help!” You grab his hand, and he teleports the both of you out of the shop. You scan the streets, calculating how many people were around.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y, what is that?” You ask your AI system.
“Not sure, I’m working on it. Iron Man has landed in close proximity.” She responds in her strangely humanly robot voice.
“My dads here!” You yell into your com, Eduardo teleporting people away from the wreckage.
“Well where is he? A little help would be nice!” El Dorado says as he helps up a lady that fell.
You both shield your eyes as a strong gust of wind knocked into you, and you peek through your fingers to see men in blue and red robes. You spot your dad standing behind them, along with...Dr. Banner?!
“Lalo! Let’s go!” You activate your thrusters and fly over to join your father and the strangely dressed men.
“Y/N! The hell you doing here?” Your dad asks in surprise when you land next to him, El Dorado appearing on your other side.
“Doesn’t matter! What’s going on?” You ask, waving off the question.
“Yeah, what’s with the magicians?” El Dorado asks as they let the wind down.
“Or y’know, the giant ass onion ring blocking the road.” You gesture to the ship, then turn to your left. “Also, Dr. Banner?!”
“Hey Y/N.” He smiled awkwardly.
“Hear me, and rejoice. You are about to die at the hands of the Children of Thanos. Be thankful, that your meaningless lives are now contributing to...” a tall, pale blue man with no nose glides down the steps of the ship.
“I’m sorry, Earth is closed today.” Your dad calls over.
“Stonekeeper...Does this chattering animal speak for you?” The man gestures to your father.
“Certainly not. I speak for myself. But you’re trespassing in this city and on this planet.” The ‘stonekeeper’ says, before glowing oranges disks appear around his fists.
“Means get lost, Squidward!” Tony quipped.
“Wait, you guys are actually magicians?” Eduardo whispers to the Chinese man in robes, in awe of the orange shields.
“Shut it, kid.” The guys snaps as he copies his friend, and summons his magic.
“Bring me the Stone.” The man snaps his fingers, and a giant alien walks up behind him, dragging itself towards you.
“Banner, anytime now.” Tony mutters.
“I’m trying.” Bruce squeezes his eyes shut in concentration, only getting green up to his chin.
“Bruce, where’s your guy?” You ask, keeping your eyes on the aliens coming towards you.
“I don’t know, we’re having a thing.” He squints harder.
“We don’t have time for a thing, amigo!” Eduardo snaps, all of you stepping back cautiously as the giant alien gets closer and closer.
“Dude, you’re embarrassing us in front of wizards.” Your dad mumbles.
“Sorry man.”
“Kids, watch him?” Your dad glances at the both of you, before stepping forward and activating his armor. He grows a set of blasters, sending the big alien back to the tall and skinny one.
It steps forward, and motions upwards. A spike of the earth sends your father upwards, and the ground beneath you trembles as trees uproot from the pavement.
“Dr. Banner, if the rest of your green friend won't be joining us....” the blue robed magician turns around and creates a portal, you and El Dorado also falling through it.
You grunt as you land on the ground, and you recognize a park that was near by. Part of a car falls through the portal after being sliced off, and you catch it before it lands on all three of you.
“Catch us up, why don’t you?” You turn to Banner after tossing the car aside.
“Uh, the wizard with the necklace is Dr. Strange, the other is Wong. Don’t know who the aliens are. I’m back, long story.” Banner rambles. “Oh and there’s an evil overlord called Thanos coming for us.”
You all duck when something is thrown at you at full speed, and wince when you realize it was your dad. He plows into the ground, crashing into a tree and effectively knocking it clean over.
“Dad!” You zoom over, helping him up. “Are you okay? How we doing?”
“Good. Really really good.” He says sarcastically. “Banner! Do you plan on helping out anytime soon?”
“I’m trying, man!”
You see the big alien throw a hammer towards Bruce, so you catapult yourself over and knock both him and Eduardo out of the way, and the hammer splits a tree. The alien then runs over and picks up the hammer, going for Iron Man. It’s about to deliver a blow to your dads head, but thankfully a familiar spandex wearing nerd blocks the hit.
“Hi Mr. Stark!” Spider-Man says happily.
“Kid? Where’d you come from?” Your dad asks him.
“Field trip!”
You watch as the alien flings Spider-Man around, as your father tries to give him instructions. You notice a slab of concrete float past on the street, Dr. Strange passed out on it. The alien followed close behind, clearly controlling the ground.
“Guys there’s the wizard!” You alert them, already flying towards it. Spider-Man swings his way behind you, and Eduardo teleports along the street.
The alien begins to throw billboards and rubble at the three of you, which you easily dodge thanks to your training. Spider-Man gets knocked down, El Dorado quickly helping him up before continuing to follow your lead.
Suddenly a blue beam shoots to the ground, and the alien starts to float upwards, along with Dr. Strange.
“Aw shit!” El Dorado yelps when he realizes he’s also being pulled up.
“Uhh, Iron Maiden? Mr. Stark? We’re being beamed up!” Spider-Man says, as if you couldn’t see it.
“Hang on, kid.” Your dad says through the coms. “Y/N, think you can get them?”
“I’m on it!” You nod, blasting yourself into the sky after them. They thankfully don’t get beamed inside the ship, Spider-Man was able to swing them over to a flat part of the ship.
You rocket yourself up to them, seeing El Dorado press his com, and a mask wraps around his face. You curse to yourself, knowing Peter didn’t have one of those. You shriek when he falls, but see something fly up and hit his back. You look down, seeing Iron Man in pursuit of you guys.
“Guys, get back to earth.” He orders.
“But the wizard!” El Dorado protests.
“Yeah, we’re already all the way up here.” You say, using F.R.I.D.A.Y to check their vitals.
“Y/N Stark, get your ass back home right this second.” Your dad snaps at you.
“Oh, fine.” You grumble, then grab Eduardo. Peter webs onto the back of your suit, and you start to fly back down to earth.
“Wait, you’re actually listening to him?” Eduardo asks you.
“Of course not.” You scoff, watching and waiting for the perfect time to go back up to the spaceship.
You watch your dad cut a hole and go inside, then follow him in. You all sneak behind him, staying near the back. Peter looks back to a window, eyes widening instantly.
“Oh my god! We should’ve gone back to earth!” He whispers to you and Eduardo.
“Shh!” You both hiss at him.
“If we get caught, we’re blaming it all on you.” El Dorado shrugs.
“I am never listening to you ever again.” Tye kicks his friends shin.
“Ow!” Jaime swats his arm in retaliation. “This isn’t my fault!”
“Mmhmm.” Tye raises an eyebrow.
“Sing along boys! Come on!” Star Lord calls from the captains chair, bopping along to some song from like, the 60s or something.
“No thanks, Mr. Quill!” Jaime said politely, while Tye openly rolled his eyes.
“Please, no formalities.” Star Lord laughs. “It’s Star Lord.”
“Oh give it a rest, would ya?” Rocket shakes his head.
“I am Groot.”
“That’s so uncalled for! I don’t call you that!” Quill stares at the talking tree, offended.
Okay, so maybe this was Jaime’s fault. Him and Tye got a distress call down on earth, so they suited up and rushed to it. They didn’t expect to see a spaceship, or aliens wreaking havoc by smashing buildings and killing people. The aliens kidnapped a few people, so Jaime didn’t hesitate and grabbed Tye, flying after them. Despite Tye’s screaming and threats to murder Jaime, he boarded the ship in attempt to rescue the people. Then the ship got way too far away from earth when it went through a jump point.
Thankfully though, the Guardians of the Galaxy happened to be prisoners on the ship, and they helped bust them out. In return, Quill helped his fellow earthlings out by agreeing to fly them back to earth. But first, there was another distress call nearby.
“We are arriving.” Mantis alerts the rest of the team.
“All right, Guardians. Don't forget, this might be dangerous, so let's put on our mean faces.” Star Lord says as the Milano decelerates once they reach the coordinates.
A sea of bodies floats around, making Jaime and Tye momentarily forget about their petty bickering.
“What happened?” Mantis asks.
“Looks like we’re not getting paid.” Rocket mutters.
There’s a loud thump, Tye and Jaime’s eyes widen when they see the body of the mighty Avenger, Thor.
“Wipers! Wipers!” Rocket waves in disgust. “Get it off!”
The gods eye opens, everyone yells in surprise.
“Dude that’s Thor!” Tye shouts in disbelief.
“Who the hells Thor?” Gamora asked.
“That!” Tye and Jaime gesture wildly.
“Alright, Alright!” Star Lord stands up. “Let’s get him inside.”
Star Lord and Blue Beetle fly out and grab the god, dragging him into the ship. Drax and Tye (in his astral form) haul the heavy man onto a table that Rocket and Mantis cleared.
“How the Hell is this dude still alive?” Star Lord asked.
“Bro, he’s literally a god.” Jaime scoffs.
“Yeah, the guy cannot die.” Tye crossed his arms as they all stare down at Thor.
“Actually I think he can-“
“Nobody asked you.”
“Children, please.” Star Lord held a hand up to silence them. “We need to help this dude.”
“He is not a dude.” Drax piped up. “You're a dude. This... this is a man. A handsome, muscular man.”
“I’m muscular.” Quill says, clearly offended.
“Who are you kidding, Quill? You're one sandwich away from fat.” Rocket stares at the leader.
“Yeah right.” He scoffed.
“You have gained a little weight...” Drax says, before gesturing to his chin and belly.
“Gamora? Do you think I’m...”
“He is anxious. Angry. He feels tremendous loss and guilt.” Mantis informs the team.
“It’s like a pirate had a baby with an angel.” Drax says, almost dreamily.
“What is happening?” Jaime whispered to Tye.
“I’m still not talking to you.” Tye mumbled before sitting with Groot, and pettily glaring at Jaime from across the room.
The Guardians continue to dawn over Thor, bickering all the while. Mantis finally wakes him up, and he violently sits up and looks around. Jaime activates Blue Beetle, standing defensively with the others (besides Tye and Groot, who hardly even care to notice).
“Who the hell are you guys?” Thor asks, as everyone exchanged glances.
Jaime joins the other teenagers on the ship and watches as they establish who they are, then listen in horror to the stories of Thanos. He was headed straight for earth, their home.
Thor then shoved Tye and Jaime aside to get to a number pad near a door. They watch as he manually tried to figure out the code.
“What are you doing?” Quill asked.
“I’m taking your pod.” Thor says casually.
“No, you’re not.” Quill clears his throat, deepening his voice and suddenly having an accent.
“Uh...Quill?” Rocket stared at Quill in a teasing manner.
“Dude, did you just deepen your voice?” Tye snorts, him and Jaime laughing as Quill tries to make himself look bigger.
“No.”
“You are. You're imitating the god-man. It's weird.” Drax blinked in disbelief.
“No I’m not.” Star Lord put his hands on his hips.
“He just did the again!” Mantis gasped.
“This is my normal voice!” Quill protests.
“Are you mocking me?” Thor steps up to Quill, leaning down to glare at him.
“Are you mocking me?” Quill squeaked out.
“Stop it. You did it again.” Thor narrowed his eyes in annoyance.
“He’s trying to copy me.” Quill turned to Tye and Jaime as if to say ‘can you believe this guy?’.
“Sure, man.” Tye pat his shoulder.
“Enough!” Gamora snapped at the men. Her, Thor and Quill argued back and forth, trying to decide their next move. Finally, Rocket and Groot decide to go with Thor to Nidavellir.
“Boys, go with them.” Gamora orders.
“What? No way!” Tye immediately glared at her.
“We need to stop Thanos!” Jaime stands with his friend.
“Go with them! You’ll be safer than with us!” Gamora yells at them.
“No way, lady.” Tye crosses his arms and stood up to Gamora.
Everyone watched in tense horror as they had a stare down, nobody knowing who would strike first.
“Fine.” Gamora said through her teeth. “But don’t blame me if you get killed.”
“Whatever.” Tye grins in victory as she steps away.
“I bid you farewell and goodbye, morons.” Thor smiles before the pod takes off.
The Guardians break to plan, Tye and Jaime sit in the front chairs, after promising not to touch anything. It would be bad for the two inexperienced children to drive them into hyper space.
Tye ignores Jaime, still kinda pissed they were in the middle of space instead of at home at Stark Tower. They wondered if Mr. Stark had issued a worldwide search for them yet, or if Y/N and Eduardo had started threatening people to find them. This Thanos guy was coming right for their planet, which only added to their anxiety.
“I’m sorry I got us all the way out here, hermano.” Jaime sighs after awhile.
Tye raises an eyebrow at looks at his friend, seeing guilt evident on his usually happy face. Tye rolls his eyes and sighs, finally giving in.
“It’s fine, man.” He says. “I’m not really mad.”
Jaime raised an eyebrow.
“I am a little.” He shrugged. “But I’m not as mad as when Eduardo got us stuck here.”
“You’re still mad about that? This dimension is great.”
“Don’t you miss your family?”
“Obviously I do.” Jaime nodded. “But we’ve got one here, too.”
Tye nodded, and they both turn back to stare at the passing stars. They’re left alone for a long while, until the Guardians kick them out of their chairs when they arrive at Knowhere.
“You two stay here.” Quill orders Tye and Jaime.
“Man, we’re not useless children.” Tye rolled his eyes as he grabbed Jaime arm, following them anyways.
“You kid, are a stubborn little punk.” Quill balled a fist up in anger.
“So I’ve been told.” Tye nodded as Jaime activates Blue Beetle. “Chillax grandpa, we can take care of ourselves.”
“Grandpa?”
“Shut it!” Gamora hissed as they see some people up ahead.
Star Lord holds up a fist to signal for them to halt, but nobody pays him any attention and just walks past. Jaime follows Tye as they duck behind some rubble, and Star Lord gives them all orders. Drax becomes very angry very quickly, and starts to pursue Thanos. Quill motions for Tye and Jaime to grab him, but the destroyer is twice the size of both of them combined, so it was no use. Mantis reaches over and puts Drax to sleep, causing him to fall and alert Thanos of their presence.
“Gamora, Mantis, you go right. Boys, stay here. I’ll go left-“ Star Lord watches as Gamora charges at Thanos head on. “Your other right!”
Gamora stabs Thanos twice, then falls to floor in sobs. They watch as Thanos dies, but Tye senses this wasn’t the end.
“That was quick...” Quill says, surprised.
“Too quick.” Tye mumbles.
“What?” Jaime asks, but is interrupted by Thanos’ disembodied voice.
They watch as the scene bubbles away, and it’s revealed that the Collectors room is destroyed and on fire. Drax and Mantis leap at Thanos, but are disassembled. Tye and Jaime jump at him, but Thanos uses the power stone to knock them into a display case. Blue Beetle activates a blaster and shoots at the glass, but it bounces back and nearly hits both of them.
“Watch where you point that!” Tye yelped, shoving Jaime.
“Dude! Focus! Can’t you bust us outta this thing?” Jaime asked.
“If you can’t what makes you think I can?”
They look out to see Gamora in Thanos’ hold, Quill pointing an elemental gun at her. Thanos pushes her towards him, he shuts his eyes and pulls the trigger. Bubbles shoot out of the gun before it melts away, then Thanos and Gamora are gone.

“Wrah!” Nebula stood up, putting her hands in a fighting stance.
“You don't need to do that. Because uh... you're just holding position.” Tony mimicked a football goalpost with his hands as she flicked a paper football towards him. “Oh yeah, that was close.”
“I would like to try again.”
You and Tye watched from the front of the ship, both of you previously watching the stars. Both of you are silent, neither of you wanting to talk. You were still too shaken up from the events of nearly last month. Nebula had attempted to fly you back to Earth, but the Milano broke down and now you were floating in space, hopeless.
“Fair game. Good sport. Have fun?” Your dad asked Nebula.
“It was...fun.” She nodded slowly.
“Tye, Y/N, wanna play?” Tony looked over to the two kids.
“I’m good.” Tye mumbled.
“Hey, come on.” Your dad urged. “It’s fun. Right, Nebula?”
“It is fun.” She nodded, face deadpanned. Tye sighed, but eventually joined them.
“Y/N?” Your dad offered.
“Um...I’m tired, I’m gonna go sleep for a little bit.” You give him a small smile as if to say you were okay, before retreating to the back of the ship towards the bedrooms.
You lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. You think about everyone at home, and the frustration of not knowing who was still alive. Were Eduardo, Jaime, Peter, Quill, Drax, Mantis and Doctor Strange still alive? Or did they die? Would they ever come back? Could you bring them back?
Usually Eduardo was there to tell you you were overthinking and to calm you down, but he was gone. He turned to dust in your hands, and you couldn’t do anything about it. You hated it when you couldn’t control something, much like your father. If you couldn’t protect the ones you loved, you felt useless. You felt guilty, believing it was your fault that Eduardo, Jaime and Peter were gone. You were even guilty about the Guardians of the Galaxy, even though you barely knew them.
You looked over at your pile of armor on the floor. You dragged yourself out of bed, sitting against it. You clicked a button on your helmet, and waited for it to light up.
“This thing on?” You ask nobody in particular, then let it scan you. “Alright. Hey mom. Uh...sorry for not listening to dad. Again. I should be down on Earth, I’m sorry I’m worrying you. Dad makes you do that enough already.” You chuckle softly. “Um...it’s day 22, just floating in space. The blue meanie tried to fly us back. You’d like her, she’s very practical. It’s only her, me, dad, and Tye left. He doesn’t talk much-well, not that he did before. He’s pretty broken over Jaime. Peters gone too, poor kid. Aunt Mays gonna kill him. Um...I lost Eduardo. He just...turned into dust. I couldn’t do anything about it...I really miss him, mom. I won’t miss him much longer though, in fact, I might see him in the next...48 hours of oxygen. It won’t last long with four people on here though. I didn’t think I’d die like this, it’s so pathetic.” You scoff and shake your head. “I thought I’d die saving people. I want to die saving people, that’s how I’ve always wanted to go but...nope. I’m gonna die because this piece of junk broke down in the middle of the universe. So uh...I’m gonna go play some paper football with the two grumps and dad. I’m really sorry, mom. All you do is put up with our shit, and tell us when to stop. I should’ve listened this time.” You go to turn it off, quickly saying, “I love you.”
You fall back against the bed, feeling lightheaded and dizzy. The low oxygen levels are already effecting you, which meant your dad and friend were both feeling them too. You wanted to go join them, but you couldn’t move your whole body enough to do so. You lied there, staring at your Iron Maiden suit. The suit you used to save people, but you couldn’t even save yourself. You failed Eduardo. Jaime. Peter. Quill. Drax. Mantis. Doctor Strange. And who knows who else.
You feel yourself being lifted off the ground, and you look up to see Nebula. She was mostly machine, so the lack of oxygen wasn’t effecting her as bad as you. She carried you over to a couch that she had dragged into the control room, facing the window. Your dad was sitting in the middle, Tye beside him. Nebula sat you on his other side, then left.
Tony gathered enough strength to lift his arms, resting them around the two kids’ shoulders and pulling them closer to him. He wanted to comfort them, but he couldn’t speak. You all stared out at the stars, awaiting your deaths.
A bright light pierced your brain, making you cringe as you wake up. You open your eyes and blink until they adjust. You see a woman outside of the ship, looking in. You weakly shake your dads leg, trying to alert him. His hand rests atop of yours to tell you he’s okay, as he slowly sits up a little.
“Who’s that?” Tye mumbles, half asleep.
“Not sure, kid.” Tony replied. You pass out again, not able to hold consciousness. You wake up again when someone shakes you awake, opening your eyes to see your dads best friend, Rhodey.
“Y/N? Hey, think you can stand?” He asked softly. You nod, and he helps you to your feet you lean on him as he walks you down the ramp to outside.
“Is mom...?” You breathe out, still blinking away black spots in your vision.
“Y/N! Tony!” You hear her yell from somewhere, before Rhodey can even open his mouth. “Oh my god! Oh my god!”
Your mom practically crashed into you, holding you tightly to her. You fall into her, not having the strength to stand any longer. Your dad walks by himself over to his two girls, hugging them tightly. Back in space, he truly thought those would be his last moment, so he was eternally grateful that he got to live long enough to hold them both again.
Tye watched the scene from where Natasha was helping him stand, feeling alone. His mother was in a different dimension than him, and Tye felt like she probably didn’t even miss him.
“Nat?” He breathed out.
“What’s up?” She asked, looking down at the exhausted boy.
“You have food that isn’t freeze dried and in a silver bag, right?” He asked.
“Yeah, come on.” She chuckled, helping him walk towards the Compound.
“Don’t you two ever do that again.” Pepper began to cry.
“No promises.” Tony kissed each of his girls on top of the head, as Steve approached you guys. “Couldn’t stop him, Cap.”
“Neither could I.” Steve nodded.
“I lost the kids. Peter. Jaime. Eduardo.” Tony shook his head, guilt washing over him once again.
“Tony, we all lost.”
You’re brought into the compound, each immediately given an IV and some food. You and Tye eat like animals, not having any rations for the past couple of days. You watch a holographic screen listing the heroes that disappeared in the Decimation; Wanda Maximoff, Nick Fury, Jaime Reyes, Bucky Barnes, Peter Quill, Scott Lang, Sam Wilson, Peter Parker, T’Challa, Eduardo Dorado Jr...
“It’s been 23 days since Thanos came to Earth.” Rhodey announced.
“World governments are in pieces. The parts that are still working are trying to take a census. And it looks like he did... he did exactly what he said he was gonna do. Thanos wiped out fifty percent, of all living creatures.” Natasha paced slowly in front of the holographs.
“Where is he?” You ask timidly, still nervous about him.
“We don't know. He just opened a portal and walked through.” Bruce Banner said slowly, trying to not scare the kids even more than they already were.
“What's wrong with him?” Tony asked, motioning to Thor, who was staring into space.
“Oh, he's pissed. He thinks he failed. Which of course he did, but you know there's a lot of that's going around, ain't there?” A talking raccoon spoke up from behind you.
“Honestly, until this exact second, I thought you were a Build-A-Bear.” Your dad pointed at him.
“You’re with him, kid? Really?” The raccoon looked at Tye.
“You know a talking raccoon?” You asked Tye, staring at the raccoon.
“He’s not a-.”
“I’m not a raccoon!” It snapped at you. “Why do you humies keep saying that?”
“We've been hunting Thanos for three weeks now. Deep Space scans, and satellites, and we got nothing. Tony, Y/N, Tye, you fought him.” Steve interrupted.
“Who told you that? I didn't fight him.” Tony scoffed. “No, he wiped my face with a planet while the Bleecker Street Magician gave away the store. Nearly killed my daughter, and Tye. One hit away from it, in fact. That's what happened. There was no fight.”
“Okay.”
“He was unbeatable.” Tye shook his head, and you agreed.
“Did he give you any clues, any coordinates, anything?” Captain America asked.
“Pfft! I saw this coming a few years back. I had a vision. I didn't wanna believe it. Thought I was dreaming.” Tony said.
“Dad, calm down.”
“Tony, I’m gonna need you to focus.”
“And I needed you. As in past tense. That trumps what you need. It's too late buddy. Sorry. You know what I need?” Your dad stood up, slapping things off a table. Everyone winced from the sudden noise. “I need to shave. And I believe I remember telling all youse-“
Tony lunges at Steve, but Rhodey stepped between them and held your dad back.
“Alive and otherwise what we needed was a suit of armor around the world! Remember that? Whether it impacted our precious freedoms or not-that's what we needed!” Tony yelled at Steve.
“Well, that didn't work out, did it?” Steve kept his composure, only angering your father even more.
“I said, "we'd lose". You said, "We'll do that together too." And guess what, Cap? We lost. And you weren't there. But that's what we do, right? Our best work after the fact? We're the Avengers, we're the Avengers. Not the Prevengers.”
“Dad! Stop!” You shout at him, your head spinning.
“You know what, honey? The adults are talking, alright?” Your dad said, with a little more venom than he intended.
“Mr. Stark you made your point just-“ Tye started.
“Nah, nah. Here's my point. You know what?” Tony turned back to glare at Captain America.
“Tony, you’re sick.” Rhodey insisted, trying to get him to sit back down.
“I got nothing for you, Cap! I got no coordinates, no clues, no strategies, no options. Zero. Zip. Nada. No trust. Liar.” Tony slowly walked up to Steve, getting right in his face. You all tensed when Tony ripped his arc reactor out of his chest, smacking it into Steve’s hand. “Here, take this. You find him, and you put that on. You hide.”
“Dad!” You shout when he suddenly falls to the ground.
“Tony!” Steve reached down to help his old friend up.
“I’m fine. I...” Your dad trails off, falling unconsciously to the floor. You try to get up, but Natasha pushes you back down by your shoulders.
“Get him to a room. Call Pepper.” Natasha ordered the men, before turning back to you two. “He’ll be fine, Y/N. Just needs to rest. So do you.”
“Not tired.” You shook your head stubbornly.
“Nebula, Rocket, think you can handle watching them for a moment?” She asked the two aliens, sitting on the wall behind you.
“Yes.” Nebula nodded.
“Sure.” The raccoon, or, Rocket shrugged.
Natasha gave you a reassuring smile before turning to help the other bring your father to a room.
“Sorry about your friend, kid.” Rocket hopped down and rounded the couch you and Tye were on to face him.
“Yeah. Sorry about the others.” Tye nodded, expression not changing at all. Your eyes drifted back to the screen, watching more and more names and pictures appear onscreen.
“Where are you going?” You hear Natasha ask someone.
“To kill Thanos.” The lady that flew you home stated simply as they emerged from the hallway.
“Hey, you know, we usually work as a team here, and between you and I, morale's a little fragile.” Nat mumbled.
“We realize up there is more your territory, but this is our fight too.” Steve nodded.
“You even know where he is?” Rhodey joined them.
“I know people who might.” The lady said, blank faced.
“Don't bother. I can tell you where Thanos is. Thanos spent a long time trying to perfect me. And when he worked, he talked about his great plan. Even disassembled, I wanted to please him. I'd ask "where would we go once his plan was complete?". His answer was always the same: "To the Garden." Nebula stood up, walking over to them.
“That's cute, Thanos has a retirement plan.” Rhodey joked, earning small smiles from you and Tye. He smiled back, glad to bring the two kids joy, even for a moment.
“So where is he?” Steve asked, and the adults walked over to a round table. You and Tye joined them, regaining enough strength to stand. You still leaned on Rhodey, which he happily let you do.
“When Thanos snapped his fingers, Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one's ever seen anything like it... Until two days ago.” Rocket showed a hologram of a planet, with a shockwave visibly traversing the surface. “On this planet.”
“Thanos is there.” Nebula added.
“He used the Stones again.” Natasha muttered.
“Hey, hey, hey. We'd be going in short-handed, you know.” Bruce piped up.
“Look, he's still got the stones, so...” Rhodey said.
“So let's get him... Use them to bring everyone back.” The lady told you.
“Just like that?” Tye raises an eyebrow in disapproval.
“Just like like.” Steve nodded.
“Even if there's a small chance that we can undo this... I mean we owe it to everyone who's not in this room to try.” Natasha tried to convince everyone. You looked down, feeling the guilt from letting your friends die in the pit of your stomach.
“If we do this, how do we know it's gonna end any differently than it did before?” Bruce asked.
“Because before, you didn't have me.” The lady crossed her arms.
“Hey, new girl, everyone here is about that superhero life. And if you don't mind my asking, where the hell have you been all this time?” Rhodey put a hand on his hip, making sure to balance so you wouldn’t fall.
“There are a lot of other planets in the universe. And unfortunately, they didn't have you guys.” The lady narrowed her eyes at Rhodey.
Thor walked out of the shadows, towards the lady. They stand in front of each other as if challenging the other. Thor holds out his hand, and Stormbreaker flies into his hand. Then they both grin at each other.
“I like this one.” Thor said.
“Let’s go get this son of a bitch.” You growl.
“Like hell you’re going!” Natasha laughed.
“No way, kids.” Steve shook his head. “Adults only on this one.”
“Would you quit treating us like children?” You glare at them.
“We probably got more punches in on Thanos than all of you combined.” Tye said venomously.
“First of all, not possible.” Natasha said. “Second of all, you are not coming. Tony and Pepper would go into cardiac arrest if you came along.”
You and Tye exchange looks, looking to the floor in compliance.
“Look, we know you’re hurting. But going at him all malnourished and seeking revenge is not the way to do it.” Rhodey told you guys.
“You’ll stay here with Tony and Pepper, okay?” Natasha asked. “Rest. Let us take care of this.”
“...okay.” You sigh.
“Thank you.” She pulled both of you into a hug. You melted into it, Tye tensed up.
You hugged each of the remaining Avengers, even Thor let you hug him, though he didn’t hug back. You and Tye stood and watched at they boarded the now fixed Milano, then watched them take off. You stood there for a little bit after, staring at the dark sky.
“Tye?” You whisper after a long stretch of silence.
“Yeah?”
“You think they can do it?” You ask
Tye hesitates. You’re scared, he’s scared, and both of you just want even a glimpse of hope. He debates what to tell you, what he truly thought or what he knew you wanted to hear.
“...no.”
You nod slowly, agreeing with him. A single tear falls down your face, dropping onto the paved pathway.
“I miss them, too.” Tye took a shaky breath, fighting his own tear ducts. He never cried, let alone in front of anyone.
“I’m sorry you lost Jaime.” You turn to him. “I know how much he meant to you. Eduardo too.”
“I’m sorry you lost Peter. You guys are as close as Jaime and I are. And I’m sorry you lost Eduardo, too.” Tye quickly blinked away tears.
“Can you believe they’re all gone?” You ask.
“No.” He shook his head. “I wish it could just be a month ago. When we were on that one mission.”
“The one where Jaime and Peter accidentally broke into Scott Lang’s house?” You giggle.
“How do you accidentally break in?” Tye laughed, shaking his head. “They’re truly idiots.”
“But they’re our idiots.” You nod, smiling sadly at the sky.

The Rise Of Iron Maiden

A/N: get ready, this chapter is The Snap
“Oh yeah, you’re much more of a Thanos.”
You watch as a huge purple guy slowly approaches Doctor Strange, taking more of the 4 Infinity Stones glowing in the gauntlet on his left hand. You look to your dad and Tye, waiting for the signal.
This was it. This single fight would determine the fate of the entire universe. You and your teammates were all anxious and had a huge weight on your shoulders, one that you were all probably too young to carry.
Blue Beetle was hiding behind a broken wall with Star Lord, El Dorado and Spider-Man were watching Thanos and Doctor Strange from above, waiting for their turn. Drax and Mantis were waiting for their signal from farther away, and you, Iron Man and Apache Chief we’re waiting for the perfect moment from above.
“I finally rest... and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe. The hardest choices require the strongest wills.” You turn your attention back to Thanos, who had been going on a tangent about his life story or whatever. You didn’t care.
“I think... you'll find... our will... equal to yours.” The doctor stands and summons his mandalas, crouching into a fighting stance.
“Ours?”
“Now!” Iron Man tells you, and you activate your boosters, both of you sending a huge chunk of wreckage barreling towards Thanos. Apache Chief shuts his eyes in focus, before his astral form begins to grow. Once he’s big enough he brings his fist down onto the rubble, effectively crushing Thanos.
“Piece of cake, Quill.” You follow your dad back down to the surface, eyes glued on the pile of wreckage.
“Yeah, if your goal was to piss him off!” Star Lord emerges, triggering his mask as he jumps over the wall. Blue Beetle flew up to hover beside Apache Chief, everyone watching as Thanks erupts from the rubble.
The red Stone starts to glow, and the rocks around him morphs into a swarm of bats. He sends them towards you and Iron Man, driving both of you away from the fight.
Spider-Man jumps down and webs Thanos’ eyes shut, El Dorado teleporting down and punching him in the face. Drax charged at Thanos knee-sliding behind him and slicing at his tendon. Doctor Strange and El Dorado jump through a portal, attacking Thanos with beams of golden energy. Drax runs at him, but it quickly punched back through a wall. Thanos then turns to Doctor Strange and El Dorado as he rips the webbing from his eyes, kicking them away.
Star Lord and Blue Beetle fly towards the surface, keeping above to shoot at Thanos. The purple Stone now glows, and balls of energy are shot at the two. Star Lord deactivates his boosters, now jumping from platform to platform, courtesy of Doctor Strange. The last one is right above Thanos’ head, so that Quill can slap a mine to his back. He grins and jumps back into a portal, flipping Thanos the bird as he does.
“Boom!”
The mine explodes, knocking Thanos to his knees. The Cloak then wraps around the gauntlet, not allowing him to close his fist to activate the Stones. He then throws portals for Spider-Man, El Dorado also teleporting around him as they both punching and kicking at Thanos to distract him from focus. He grows irritated, grabbing Spider-Man by the leg and using him to knock El Dorado back, before throwing him into the ground. He then throws him at Doctor Strange, also bringing him down. He tears the Cloak off of the gauntlet, but before he can even move Iron Man and Iron Maiden bombard him with blasts from your hands. Thanos activates the purple Stone, shooting a beam at Iron Man, sending him far back once again. He then aims for Apache Chief, who had begun running at him. Tye screamed in pain as his astral form dissolved, and you dive to catch him before he hits the ground. You fly up and out of danger, trying to come up with a next move. Suddenly a ship hurtled towards the planet, crashing into Thanos and burying him in rubble. You watch as a woman with purple and blue machine-like skin emerges, charging at him with a long sword.
“Do you know her?” You ask Tye, who’s still recovering from the blow.
“Not that one.” He shook his head weakly. “What’s the next move?”
Your attention snaps back down when you see glowing orange bands pinion the gauntlet. Drax then slides in, holding him down by the knee.
You rocket down to the surface, setting Tye down with Jaime and wrap yourself around Thanos’ other leg with Drax. Star Lord tosses down an electric trap, pulling down the titans other arm. Spider-Man swings in, webbing Thanos’ chest and wrapping it around, digging his Iron Spider legs into the ground to brace himself. El Dorado then teleport above Thanos, holding Mantis. Once she’s on his shoulders and holds his head he teleports over to help Spider-Man hold him down on that side by his webbing. Iron Man finally lands, pulling at the gauntlet with Doctor Strange.
“Is he under? Don't let up.” Tony asks Mantis.
“Be quick. He is very strong.” She whimpers, clearly struggling to hold her focus. Apache Chief then walks up to touch her arm, focusing on being calm and clearing his mind to help her keep hold.
“Dorado, help! Get over here!” Iron Man orders your boyfriend, who hands off the strands of webbing to Spider-Man. “She can't hold him much longer. Let's go!”
“I thought you'd be harder to catch. For the record, this was my plan. Not so strong now, huh? Where is Gamora?” Quill taunts at Thanos.
“My... Gamora...?” Thanos chocked out.
“Bullshit.” Quill scoffed, shaking his head. “Where is she?”
“He is in anguish.” Mantis said, her eyes widening in shock.
“Good.” You growl up at the ugly ass genocidal maniac.
“He’s...mourning.” Tye’s face also drops. His emotions are connected to Mantis’, who is connected to Thanos.
“What does this el monstruo have to mourn?” Eduardo grunted as him, Tony and Stephen tried to pry the gauntlet off of him.
“Gamora.”
You all turn to the woman, whom you still had yet to know the name of.
“What?” Quill turned away from Thanos.
“He took her to Vormir. He came back with the Soul Stone... but she didn't.” She said slowly.
“Okay, Quill, you gotta cool it right now, you understand?” Tony said quickly, starting to panic.
“Ay, calm down, amigo-“ Jaime dehelmets and tries to guide Quill away, but he’s slapped away.
“Don’t, don’t, don’t!” Eduardo shouts at him as Quills face contorted into rage.
“Star Lord, no!” You warn.
“Don’t engage!” Tony snapped. “We almost got this off!”
“Tell me she's lying.” Quill threatened, becoming enraged. “Asshole! Tell me you didn't do it!”
“I...had...to...” Thanos mumbled.
“No, you didn’t.” Quill shook his head as he began to tear up. “No you didn’t.”
“Quill!” Jaime tries to pull him away again, but Star Lord shoved him to the ground.
He raised his pistol, punching Thanos in the face with it as he screamed in agony. Mantis and Tye loose focus and their hold on him lifts.
“Quill!” You, Drax and Tony all shout.
“Hey, stop! Hey, stop! Stop! Hey, stop! Stop!” Your dad leaps at Star Lord, struggling to pull him away as Eduardo is left with the task of prying the gauntlet away.
“It's coming! It's coming! It's coming!” He stutters, desperately pulling it off his hand. “I got it! I got it!”
Thanos wakes completely, head butting Tye and effectively knocking him out. He grabbed the cuff of the gauntlet and tugged it out of El Dorado’s hold, smacking him away before throwing Mantis off his shoulders. Spider-Man leaps after her, leaving only Doctor Strange holding him on that side.
He kicked Drax off his leg and into the alien robot woman and Star Lord, sending them to the ground. He then smashes you into the ground, tossing you over with them. Black spots dance in your vision as you watch Thanos use the Stones to crumble apart a moon and throw it right into your dad and Dr. Strange. You struggle to your feet with the other Guardians and charge at him, but you’re all knocked down again by a field of energy. Blue Beetle and Apache Chief then try to lay some on him, but are both shot far away and through multiple walls by a huge burst of energy.
When the moon crashes into the planet it knocks the gravitational pull everywhere, making everyone loose their balance. You regain consciousness and make sure Spider-Man can handle he unconscious Guardians before you rush to Eduardo’s side.
“What do we do?” You ask as you hover next to Eduardo, who’s accessing the scene.
“I don’t know! Where’s Tye and Jaime?” He asked.
“They got knocked away, they’ll be fine.” You wave it off. “How do we attack Thanos? We need to weaken him.”
“I don’t know! Look!” He points down and you see Doctor Strange performing multiple spells on Thanos, both of them dueling.
“Where’s my dad?” You ask, realizing you didn’t see him among the knocked out Guardians.
“He’s okay, he’s got armor!” Eduardo reassures you.
You both watch in horror as Thanos snatched the Eye Of Agamotto off Doctors Stranger neck, but sigh in relief when you realize he didn’t actually get the Time Stone. He throws Stephen into a wall, knocking him out. You quickly grab a device and throw it into Thanos’ palm, locking his fingers so he can’t use the Stones.
You rocket towards Thanos, grinning when you see Blue Beetle also flying at him. Apache Chief’s astral form emerges in the distance, rising and running over. Spider-Man swings down as El Dorado appears next to Thanos, swinging at him with the alien woman’s giant sword.
You and Blue Beetle shoot at him from above, El Dorado teleports rapidly as slices at him with the sword, Spider-Man swings around and shoots webbing at him in attempt to tie him down, and Apache Chief knocks in punches when he can. You and your team work together to completely bombard the mad Titan, making sure he had no moment of rest. Your heart drops when he rips the device out of his palm, first going for El Dorado.
He successfully grabs him by the throat, hurling him at Spider-Man and sending them back. He then activates the purple Stone and sends a beam at Tye, making him cry out in pain before loosing focus and hitting the ground, knocking him out. Then he drags Blue Beetle down with ropes that looked similar to Strange’s, then the red stone glows. Jaime screamed as the Scarab was ripped out of his back, the Stone somehow holding the power to do that. He dropped Jaime’s lifeless body to the ground, and you think he’s dead for a moment until he weakly reached for Tye’s hand. You’re now fueled with rage after seeing all your friends so hurt, and you hurtle yourself at Thanos. You yell as you use as much power to blast him, only becoming more enraged when it hardly effects him.
He grabs you by the throat and tears off your helmet, but you quickly make a new one and block the next blow. You brace yourself as he goes to punch you, but a red and gold device takes its place in Thanos’ palm, holding his fist open. You both look and see your dad, finally standing.
“You hit my daughter again, I’m gonna lose it.” He threatened him.
“Stark.” Thanos grinned.
“You know me?” Tony asked.
“I do. You're not the only one cursed with knowledge.”
“My only curse is you.” He stayed before launching rockets at him, knowing you’d be protected by your Iron Maiden armor.
When his grip loosens on you, you catapult yourself away from him.
“You shoot, I’ll hit.” Your dad directs you.
“Yes sir.” You nod, activating your blasters and shooting your beams into Thanos as Iron Man pile drives into him.
Tony fights him head on while you blast at him from a distance, still wanting to get the Titan back for hurting your friends so bad. Your eyes look down at Tye and Jaime’s bodies, there hands reached for each other but not quite making it to grasp the others. You see Eduardo and Peter in a pile on the ground, both knocked out. The Guardians are still unconscious, and Doctor Strange is trying to just lift his head.
You fly at Thanos, activating more armor around your fists to hit him harder. You and your dad take turns knocking Thanos around, following his orders as you do.
“All that for a drop of blood.” Thanos pants, sneering up at the two Starks. He then punches Iron Man, sending him pinwheeling. Then he grabs you and corners you into a wall, relentlessly sending blows to your face. You try to block with your forearms, but it’s no use as he picks you up by the head, blasting your guy with the purple Stone. You feel your armor start to loose its ability to recover, unable to keep up with the constant damage. He blasts you back and into the ground, and you lay in exhaustion and defeat. Iron Man sees his daughters body lying still in the rubble, fueling his determination before launching himself at Thanos.
You blink as you try to comprehend the scene in front of you, still not fully conscious. You watch in hopelessness as Thanos attacks your father similarly to how he did to you, tearing apart his armor until it couldn’t repair itself.
“No!” You scream when you see Thanos stab Iron Man’s own piece of armor into his abdomen, walking him back until he sat near Doctor Strange. Then you watch in dread as Strange willingly gives Thanos the Time Stone.
“Y/N...” you hear someone beside you, and you turn to see Eduardo had teleported himself to your side.
“The Stone...” you whisper, trying to reach for it as if you could.
He quickly looks between you and Thanos, before grabbing thrusters from your calves and strapping they onto his. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, whispering an ‘I love you’ before pursuing the Titan. He nearly rams right into Star Lord as Thanos teleports himself away, both of them looking around.
“Where is he?” Star Lord demanded.
“Where’d that el cabrón go?” El Dorado yelled.
“Did we just loose?” Quill asked as he looked to Tony, who was stitching his stab wound with his suit functions. Eduardo teleports to you, picks you up then sets you next to your dad. You pull Eduardo to sit with you, leaning your body weight against him.
“Why did you do that?” Tony looked at Dr. Strange in disbelief.
“We’re in the endgame now.” He says ominously, sending chills up your spine.
Your dad stared at him for a moment, until he glances at you and realized the damage Thanos did to his daughter.
“Hey, kid, how many fingers am I holding up?” He asked you.
“Um...four.” You mumble, panting as you try to catch your breath from the adrenaline rush.
“Close enough.” He pushed your hair out of your face, looking at you with worry in his eyes.
“Is Jaime okay?” You ask. “Thanos tipped Khaji Da out of him.”
“What? How?” Tony looked up, watching as Drax helped Peter walk over, the other Guardians staggering towards you all.
“Not sure.” Eduardo said, holding you close to him. “They’re over there somewhere.”
“Something’s...happening...” Mantis said, her voice shaking in fear. You gasp when she disintegrates, and you clutch onto Eduardo’s jacket.
“Quill?” Drax almost whimpers, staring at his friend before he disappears, Peter watching in horror from beside him.
“Steady, Quill.” Eduardo says softly.
“Oh, man.” Star Lord breathed, before also disappearing.
Tye started to carry his best friend over to where he sees you all gathered, tears flowing down the usually deadpan and serious boys face. His eyes widen when he sees Jaime’s eyes slightly open, barely making eye contact.
“Jaime? You’re okay, hermano.” Tye reassured him, starting to fall from the weight of carrying his own body, plus his best friends.
“Tye...what’s happening?” Jaime asks, voice stuttering in fear.
“What do you me-“ Tye asked before looking down, seeing Jaime’s hands crumble into ash. “Jaime? Jaime!”
“I love you, mi hermano.” Jaime stared into his friends eyes one last time, before the ash sifts between Tye’s fingers.
“Jaime?! Jaime! What...no!” Tye sank to his knees, gathering the dust.
“Tony.” Strange said calmly. “There was no other way.”
His disintegrated into the wind, the dust flowing through the air.
“Oh no.”
You look up at Eduardo, seeing dust start to blow from him. You instantly sit up, despite nearly fainting from it.
“Lalo? No no no no no.” You stutter desperately.
“Shhh, princesa. It’s okay, mi amor.” He whispered soothingly, cupping your cheeks and softly pressing his lips to yours. “I’m okay.”
“Eduardo!” You cry out when he crumbles to ash in your hold, staring in horror at the layer of dust now taking his place. “No! Eduardo!”
“Mr. Stark?” You hear Peter whimper in terror. You both look over, Peter hugging himself. “I don’t feel so good.”
“You’re all right.” Tony stood up and rushed to his side, but you’re still paralyzed in shock.
“I don't know what's-I don't know what's happening. I don't-“ Peter stammered, beginning to cry in fear. “I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go, Mr. Stark, please. Please, I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go...” He looked up into your dads eyes. “I’m sorry.” Then, he disappears in the wind.
You see Tye rush over, clutching handfuls of dust in both hands. He looks around, seeing only you three left standing. You stare at each other, too shocked to even move.
“He did it.”

A/N: pretty short chapter, but shits about to go down. Also literally everyone’s adopting Tye, he just keeps getting passed around
You blink, and you’re somewhere in New York City. You look around, recognizing what was happening; this was when the Avengers first became a team. You looked to Apache Chief, Iron Man, Captain America and Ant Man for orders.
“All right, we all have our assignments. Two Stones uptown, one Stone, down. Stay low. Keep an eye on the clock.” Captain America said.
“Alright, you two know how to get to the Sanctum from here?” Your dad asked as he retracted his helmet to look you both in the eye.
“Got it, dad.” You nodded, retracting your own helmet.
“Isn’t this so cool? We just time traveled!” Scott whispered to you two.
“Easy there, Marty McFly.” Tye pat his shoulder.
“Focus please?” Tony snapped at you.
“We’ll get the Time Stone, don’t worry.” You reassure him. “You gotta remember we can handle ourselves, dad.”
“I’m well aware you can handle yourselves.” Your dad said before opening his mouth to add a snarky comment.
“Go.” Steve ordered you.
You nod and turn to leave, then rushed to your dad and tackled him in a hug. He was surprised at first, thinking you were still angry with him about the past couple of years. Your hug was an apology, which he graciously accepted and held you close.
“I love you, dad.” You whispered.
“Love you too, kiddo.” He squeezed you slightly before letting you go. “Now get out of here. We’ve got our reality to save.”
You nod before following Tye, looking back one last time. You run along the streets, chaos surrounding you as Chitauri attack civilians. You don’t worry about them though, your only goal being the Time Stone.
“So you know how to get there right?” Tye asked as you both ran. “Cause I don’t know where I’m going!”
“It’s just up ahead! I can see the cafe Eduardo...” you trail off, remembering the date you went on when this all started.
“Hey, don’t worry.” Tye told you as you both ducked when a truck was thrown your way. “Think about how close we are. We are so close to seeing everyone again.”
“I know, I know.” You nod as you both stand back up.
“Now lets go get that Stone.” He holds his fist out to you, and you fist bump before darting off again. You activate your helmet and grab Tye’s hand, then fly up when you see the Sactum. The door had rubble all around it, but you figured there would be a roof exit.
You land behind a bald lady in yellow robes, fending off Chitauri with the same magic you saw Doctor Strange using.
“I'd be careful going that way.” Your and Tye spun around when she spoke. “We just had the floors waxed.”
“Uh...ma'am, we’re looking for Doctor Strange.” You day awkwardly.
“You're about... five years too early. Stephen Strange is currently performing surgery about twenty blocks that way. What do you want from him?” She asked calmly.
“That, actually.” Tye pointed to the Eye Of Agamotto around her neck.
“Ah! I'm afraid not.” She shook her head.
“Sorry, but I wasn’t asking.” Tye said as you both moved towards her.
“You don’t want to do this.” She smiled, not even moving back.
“You’re right, we don’t.” You say as you make a grab for the Eye of Agamotto. “But we need that stone, and I don't have time to beat it-“
She swiftly shoved you back, and you watched as you floated out of your body. You stared in shock, horrified that she just did that. Tye watched with his jaw dropped, backing away from the lady.
“Let’s start over shall we?” She asked.
Your astral form looked at Tye’s regular one, then down at your body lying on the floor.
“Um, why didn’t you push his soul out of his body?” You sassed, irritated.
“His astral form is different from yours. I simply can’t.” She shrugged.
“How’d you know that?” Tye’s eyes widened, now thoroughly creeped out.
“Look, lady, we need that stone.” You glared at her.
“Please.” Tye added.
“I'm sorry, I can't help you, Y/N and Tye. If I give up the Time Stone to help your Reality, I'm dooming my own.” She sighed as she started to walk away.
“With all due respect, I'm not sure the science really supports that.” You said as you followed her.
She looked at you for a moment and raised an eyebrow, before creating a projection to represent the flow of time.
“The Infinity Stones create what you experience as the flow of time. Remove one stone and that flow splits.” She flicked the Time Stone projection away and showed a black stream, indicating a point of divergence. “Now, this may benefit your reality, but my new one…not so much. In this new branched Reality, without our chief weapon against the forces of darkness, our world will be overrun. Millions will suffer. So, tell me, child of Stark, can your science prevent all that?”
“No, but we can erase it. Because once we are done with the stones, we can return each one to its own timeline at the moment it was taken. So, chronologically,” you grab the Time Stone projection and put it back. “...in that reality, it never left.”
“But you are leaving out the most important part. In order to return the stones, you have to survive.” She said, still not convinced.
“We will.” Tye said sternly. “We promise.”
“I can't risk this Reality on a promise. It is the duty of the Sorcerer Supreme to protect the Time Stone.” She shook her head again.
“Then, why the hell did Strange give it away?” Tye raised his voice in frustration.
She finally turned around to face both of you, eyes wide in surprise.
“What did you say?” She asked.
“Strange, he gave it away. He gave it to Thanos.” Tye told her.
“Willingly?”
“Yes! I watched him!” You insisted.
“...why?”
“I have no idea!” You shrug.
“Maybe it was a mistake.” Tye said. “But he did.”
“Or I did.” She sighed, then pushed you back into your body.
“Oh, that’s much better.” You sigh as Tye helped you up. You watch as she opens the Eye of Agamotto, the Time Stone glowing green.
“Strange is meant to be the best of us.” She mumbled in thought.
“So he must have done it for a reason.” You nodded.
“I fear you might be right.” She said as she gave you the Time Stone.
“Thank you.” You smiled at Tye in relief and victory.
“I’m counting on you, Y/N and Tye. We all are.” She said, watching you take the Time Stone like a first time mother giving her child to a babysitter.
“Ready?” You asked Tye as you both prepared to go back.
“Hell yeah.” He grinned.
You grabbed each other’s hand in a handshake then pulled each other into a one armed hug, patting each other on the back. Then you hit a few buttons on your watches, and you were sucked back into the present day. You both retract your helmets and look around, seeing everyone also doing the same.
“Did you get them all?” Bruce asked as he rushed up to meet you guys on the platform.
“You telling me this'll actually work?” Rhodey asked happily.
“Wait...where’s mom?” Tye asked, staring at the spot where she used to be standing between him and Clint.
“Clint? Where’s Nat?” Bruce asked as everyone stared at him for an answer. He didn’t say anything, his eyes clouded with mourning. Tye fell to his knees and you tried to catch him, and you stared at him in shock when you saw a single tear fall down his face to the floor. You had never seen him cry, hardly ever show emotions at all. Your own sadness also dragged you down, but you had to s strong.
“We should...get out of these suits.” Rocket mumbled after awhile.
You all got out of your time suits and handed them off to Rocket and Scott, and you, Tye and the remaining Avengers were led out to the lakeside by Tony. You hugged your dad and silently cried, everyone else standing and staring at the water.
“Do we know if she had family?” Your dad asked as he rubbed your back to comfort you.
“Yeah. Us.” Steve mumbled.
“What?” Thor asked, confused.
“I just asked him a question–“
“Yeah, you're acting like she's dead. Why are we acting like she's dead? We have the stones, right? As long as we have the stones, Cap, we can bring her back, isn't that right? So stop this shit. We're the Avengers, get it together.” Thor snapped.
“We can’t get her back.” Clint shoot his head.
“What?”
“It can’t be undone.”
“I'm sorry. No offense, but you're a very earthly being. Okay? We're talking about space magic. And "can't" seems very definitive don't you think?”
“Yeah, look, I know that I'm way outside my paygrade here. But she still isn't here, is she?”
“No, that's my point–“
“It can't– be undone. Or that's at least what the red floating guy had to say.” Clint became angry and started shouting. “Maybe you wanna go talk to him, okay? GO GRAB YOUR HAMMER, AND YOU GO FLY AND TALK TO HIM!”
Clint’s face fell, grief clouding his judgement. You blinked away tears and let go of your dad, moving to stand next to your friend, who’s eyes never left the water.
“It was supposed to be me. She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it.” Clint’s voice cracked.
Bruce grabbed a bench, and in a burst of anger, he hurled it clear across the entire lake.
“She's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to.” Bruce clenched his fists.
“We will.” Steve reassured him.
During another long stretch of silence, Tony motioned for you to follow him. You left the dock with him, Thor, and Steve, leaving Clint, Bruce and Tye alone. They need more time than you, since they were all closest with her.
Flashbacks of Natasha raced through Tye’s mind, his brain still hardly comprehending she was gone forever. He thought about the first time he called her mom. The day she taught him how to shoot a gun. When they watched old football games together and cheered, despite already knowing the outcome.
“You called her mom?” Clint said as he stood next to Tye, Bruce still pacing behind them.
“Yeah. She said I could.” Tye said quietly.
“Didn’t know you two were so close. Even before the Snap.”
“You were gone.” He said bitterly. “You wouldn’t know.”
Clint was about to retort, but shut his mouth. The kid was right. He was gone. He left them. He left Natasha. He left Tye.
Before the Snap they were close, Clint always helped Tye work on his speed and accuracy. They were sarcastic together, and would play pranks on the rest of the team together. Clint accepted Tye into his own family, since the kid never really had one.
“I’m sorry, Tye.” Clint said after awhile. Tye didn’t answer, but didn’t protest when Clint draped an arm around his shoulders.
You watched as your dad and Dr. Banner start to place the Stones in the new gauntlet, carefully and and nervously.
“Boom!” Rocket shouted from beside you, Tony and Bruce both jumping and whipping around to glare at him. Rocket and Tye snickered to each other, then laughed loudly when Tony threatened them.
They bring the gauntlet to another room, where everyone gathered in their usual superhero suits.
“All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?” Rocket asked.
“I’ll do it.” Thor said.
“Excuse me?” Scott asked.
“It’s okay.” Thor shrugged, and moved towards the gauntlet.
“No, no, no, whoa. Stop. Stop. Wait a sec. Hey, hey–!” Everyone shouted at him.
“Wait, wait, Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet.” Steve held him back.
“I'm sorry. What, we're just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?” Thor asked.
“We should at least discuss it.” Scott said, Rhodey agreeing with him.
“No, no, sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty.” Thor insisted.
“Thor, this isn’t about that-“ you start.
“It's not that– Stop it! Just let me!” Thor started to tear up. “Just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something right.”
“Look– It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent, I'm telling you, you're in no condition.” Tony explained to him.
“What do you– What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?” Thor asked.
“Cheez Whiz.” Rhodey mumbled, Rocket elbowing Tye as they both snickered.
“Lightning.” Thor snapped at them.
“Yeah.” Tony sighed.
“Lightning won’t help you, pal.” Bruce said, everyone turned to him. “It’s gotta be me.”
Everyone stared at him.
“You saw what those stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you could survive.” Bruce told you.
“How do we know you will?” Steve asked.
“We don't. But the radiation's mostly gamma.” He moves towards the gauntlet. “It's like...I was made for this.”
“Good to go, yeah?” Your dad asked.
“Let’s do it.” Bruce nodded.
“You remember– everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago and just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years.” Tony instructed everyone.
“Got it.” You nodded.
Everyone suited up and prepared, you held up a shield for you and Tye as Rocket hid behind both of you.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., do me a favor and activate Barn Door Protocol. Will you?” You asked the AI system.
“Yes, boss.” She said and the facility goes into lockdown.
“Everyone comes home.” Bruce whispered to himself as he puts on the gauntlet. He grunts in pain when the power surges through his veins, making them glow.
“Take it off! Take it off!” Thor shouted.
“No wait!” Tye shouted.
“Bruce, you okay?” Steve asked.
“Talk to me, Banner.” Tony said calmly.
“I’m okay. I’m okay.” Bruce nodded.
You kept the shield up when he snapped, screaming in pain. He passes out, the gauntlet falling off his hand, and Clint kicked it away.
“Bruce!” Steve shouted.
“Don’t move him.” Tony ordered.
“Did it work?” Bruce asked weakly.
Scott walked to the window, seeing plants and birds. A smile makes a way to his face. You followed Clint when you heard his phone ringing, joy overwhelming you when you saw his wife’s name. Your phone was on the counter next to him, and a moment later you saw ‘Lalo’ on the screen.
“It’s Jaime.” Tye pulled out his own phone from his pocket.
“It’s Eduardo.” You smile, and you both answer your phones.
“Y/N? Y/N!” Eduardo shouted in panic.
“Eduardo? You’re alive?” You smile, tears pouring down your face.
“Guys...I think it worked.” Scott alerted you all.
“Princesa, tell me you’re okay!” Eduardo shouted.
You didn’t get the chance to answer, when suddenly, the compound exploded.

“Come on, I feel like I'm the only one eating.” Dr. Banner pushes a plate forward. “Try some of that. Have some eggs.”
“I am so confused.” Scott stared in awe.
“Yeah...” you blink.
“These are confusing times.” Banner says seriously.
“Right. No, no, that's not what I meant.” Scott shook his head.
“What exactly is going on here?” Tye gestured to Banner...or...Hulk...Dr. Hulk...
“No, I get it. I'm kidding! I know. It's crazy. I'm wearing shirts now.” Bruce says happily. You stare at his current form, somehow part Banner and part Hulk.
“Yeah! Wh...How? Why?” Scott stuttered.
“Five years ago, we got our asses beaten. Except it was worse for me. Because I lost twice. First, Hulk lost, then Banner lost. Then, we all lost.” Bruce explained.
“No one blamed you, Bruce.” Natasha reassured him.
“I did. For years, I've been treating the Hulk like he's some kind of disease, something to get rid of. But then I started looking at him as the cure. Eighteen months in a gamma lab. I put the brains and the brawn together. And now look at me. Best of both worlds...” he motioned to himself.
“What is this Hannah Montana bullshit...?” You whisper to Tye as three children walk up behind Bruce...or Hulk.
“Excuse me, Mr. Hulk?” The girl asks shyly.
“Yes?” Banner turned to face them.
“Can we get a photo?”
“100%, little person. Come on, step up.” He took off his glasses and held his phone out to Scott. “You mind?”
Scott nods and takes the picture, leaning over to give the phone back. “Don't you wanna grab one with me? I'm Ant-Man.” He offered. “They're Hulk fans, they don't know Ant-Man. Nobody does.”
“Wait, no, no, he feels bad. No, he wants you to...he wants to...” he turns to the kids, the boy shakes his head. “You want to take a picture with him, right?”
“Stranger Danger.” The other boy adds.
“He's even saying no he doesn't. I get it. I don't want it either.” Scott tried to shrug it off.
You and Tye cringed in second hand embarrassment as the scene unfolded in front of you, Natasha rolling her eyes and continuing to eat her breakfast.
“Anyways...” Tye muttered when the kids finally walk away.
“About what we were saying...” Steve added.
“Right. The whole time travel do-over? Guys, it's outside my area of expertise.” He shook his head as he turned back to face you guys.
“Well, you pulled this off. I remember a time when that seemed pretty impossible time, too.” Natasha smiled.
“Okay, here we go. Time travel test number one. Scott, fire up the uhhh... the van thing.”
You stand with Banner and perfect the controls, Tye, Steve and Nat standing aside to let you two work.
“Breakers are set, emergency generators are on standby.” You alert him.
“Good. 'Cause if we blow the grid, I don't wanna lose Tiny here in the 1950's.” Banner snickered. Everyone looks at him with concern.
“Excuse me?” Scott asked, panicked.
“He’s kidding!” Tye said, only half sure.
“You can’t say things like that.” Natasha laughs nervously.
“Yeah uh...just a bad joke. Scientist humor.” You reassure Scott, and he seems satisfied with your answer.
“You were kidding, right?” Natasha whispered to you two.
“I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke, or none of it is.” You shrug.
“We're good! Get your helmet on, Scott. I'm gonna send you back a week, let you walk around for an hour, then bring you back in 10 seconds. Makes sense?” Bruce sends a thumbs up to Scott.
“Perfectly not confusing.” Scott nodded sarcastically.
“Good luck, Scott. You’ve got this.” Steve called over to him.
“You're right. I do, Captain America.” Scott smiles proudly. Bruce presses a button, and Scott is sucked into the Quantum Realm. “On the count of three. 3...2...1!”
The Ant Man suit comes back, but inside of it is a teenager.
“Uh, guys? This...this doesn't feel right.” What you presumed was teenage Scott Lang, said worriedly.
“What is this?” Steve asked.
“Oh hell no.” Tye shook his head.
“What’s going on?” You ask Bruce as he fiddles with the controls.
“That...who is that?” Natasha asked.
“Hold on.” Bruce said, panicking.
“Is that Scott?” Natasha asked, lookingback and forth between the teenager and the scientists.
“Yes, it’s Scott!” Teenage Scott shouted.
He’s sucked in again, and when he reappears there’s an old man.
“Ow! My back!” Old Man Scott Lang groaned.
“What is this?” Steve repeated.
“Can I get a little space here?” Bruce shooed at them.
“Yeah yeah. Can you bring him back?” Steve persisted.
“I’m working on it!” Bruce nudged you aside, now taking full control of the panel. You step down, standing between Steve and Tye.
“For the love of the lord...” Tye pinched the bridge of his nose. “Obviously we’re working with a couple of geniuses.”
“Hey, this isn’t me.” You raise your hands in surrender, as another form of Scott appears.
“It’s a baby.” Steve blinked.
“It’s Scott!”
“As a baby!”
“He’ll grow.”
“Bring Scott back!”
“When I say kill the power, kill the power.” Bruce motioned for you to go to the generator.
“Oh god. Oh my god.” You mutter nervously, walking to the generator.
“And...kill it!”
You pull the lever, and everything shuts down. You sigh in relief when you finally see the normal Scott Lang.
“Oh thank god.” Natasha took a breath.
“Somebody peed my pants.” Scott blinked. “But I don't know if it was "baby" me or "old" me...Or just "me" me.”
“Time travel!” Bruce cheered. You and Steve don’t say anything, Tye and Natasha give him an identical look of displeasure. “What? I see this as an absolute win!”
“Hey there, Iron Maiden.”
You turn to see your dad standing in the doorway of your old room, where you were currently searching for said Iron Maiden suit. You swear you left it in your closet before you left.
“What are you doing here?” You glare at your father.
“Thought you might want this.” Tony hands you a briefcase. You take it and slowly open it, seeing a polished up version of your suit.
“You...?”
“I’ve been doing some thinking and...you’re right.” Your dad admits. “This chance...it’s worth it.”
“So you’re going to help?” You ask hopefully.
“You seem desperate for it. Let me guess: he turned into a baby.”
“Yeah how did you...?”
“That's the EPR Paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you might've wound up pushing time through Lang. It's tricky. Dangerous. Somebody should've cautioned you against it.”
“You did.” You chuckle lightly.
“Oh, I did?” He winked playfully at you. “Thank God I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it. A fully functioning Time-Space GPS. I just want peace. Turns out, resentment is corrosive, and I hate it.”
“Like father like daughter.” You chuckle.
“We got a shot at getting these stones, but I gotta tell you my priorities: Bring back what we lost? I hope, yes. Keep what I got? I have to, at all costs. And... maybe not die trying will be nice.” He negotiates.
“...sounds like a deal.” You agree. He reaches out to shake your hand, you grab it and pull him into a hug. He hugs for a moment before straightening up.
“Oh, and don’t parade that around. Pretend like you had it the whole time, I don’t have one for the whole team. We are getting the whole team, right?” He raised an eyebrow.
“You bet your ass we are.”
“Kind of a step down from a from a golden palace for an Avenger highness and whatnot.” Rocket mutters as the truck arrives at New Asgard, which was in a small fishing town in Norway. You hop out, following them along the docks.
“Hey, have a little compassion, pal. First they've lost Asgard, then half the people. They're probably just happy to have a home.” Bruce tells him.
You were on your way to try to convince Thor to rejoin the team, so that you would have a better shot at succeeding. Tye was with Natasha to go get Clint, Rhodey was back preparing with Nebula, Tony, Natasha, Scott, and Steve.
A girl called Valkyrie points you in the direction of Thors residence, and you follow the raccoon and the Hulk into a house.
“What the...Woo! Something died in here.” Rocket grimaced at the smell, and you scrunched your nose up in disgust.
“Hello? Thor?” Bruce calls through the house.
“Are you here about the cable?” Thor calls from somewhere. Your jaw drops when you see him. He’s definitely...put on a few pounds.
“The Cinemax ran out about two weeks ago, and the sports were all kind of fuzzy.” Thor rambled on as he grabbed a beer.
“Thor?” You ask, and he turns to look at you.
“Boys! Y/N!” He cheered happily. “Oh my God! Its so to see you!” He then pulled Rocket into a hug. “Come here, you little rascal!”
“No, I'm good. I'm good. That's not necessary.” Rocket pried himself away from Thor, dodging and standing on the other side of you.
“Hulk, you know my friends, Miek, Korg, right?” He gestured to a rock guy and some alien, playing...ew, Fortnite. Thank god Tye and Jaime weren’t here to witness this (they would probably physically fight them).
“Beer's on the bucket. Feel free to log on to the Wi-Fi. No password, obviously.” Korg then goes back to his game. “Thor, he's back. The kid on the TV that called me a dickhead again.”
“NoobMaster.” Thor growled, as of spewing the name of his greatest enemy and grabbing the headset. “Noobmaster? Yeah, it's Thor again. You know, the God of Thunder? Listen, buddy. If you don't log off this game immediately, I am gonna fly over to your house, come down to that basement you're hiding in, rip off your arms AND SHOVE THEM UP YOUR BUTT!!! Oh, that's right. Yes, go cry to your father, you little weasel!”
“What is going on?” You whisper to the guys.
“We’re witnessing the human embodiment of the word ‘loser’.” Rocket muttered, Bruce lightly nudging him. “What?”
“Buddy, you alright?” Bruce ignores the non raccoon.
“Yes, I'm fine! Why, don't I look all right?” Thor asked.
“You look like melted ice cream.” Rocket crossed his arms.
“So, what’s up?” Thor chuckled.
“We need your help. There might be a chance we could fix everything.” You explain.
“What, like the cable? Cause that's been driving me bananas for weeks.”
“Like Thanos.” Bruce says softly.
Thor’s smile slowly fades, and he grabs Bruce’s shoulder. You watch as Thor goes through about a million emotions as Bruce reasons with him, explaining in proper detail why he should come.
“There’s beer on the ship.” Rocket finally adds, and that perks Thor’s attention.
“...what kind?”
“Drifting left. On the side there, Lebowski.” Tony says to Thor as he passes him, going up to Rocket, where Tye’s assisting him with building the glass platform. “Ratchet, how's it going?”
“It's Rocket. Take it easy. You're only a genius on Earth, pal.” Rocket points a wrench at him, before turning to Tye. “Alright kid, where’s that drill?”
Tony continued to strut down the hallway, finding you in a side room with Natasha, Rhodey, Scott, Bruce and Steve.
“Time travel suit? Not bad.” Rhodey admires your work.
“Scott, I made it close to your Ant Man suit so you don’t get confused.” You say slowly, as if he were a child.
“Yeah, Thanks.” Scott scoffed, before shrieking. “Hey, hey, hey! Easy, easy!”
“I’m being very careful!” Bruce insisted.
“No, you’re being very Hulky.” Scott sighs. “These are Pym Particles, alright? And ever since Hank Pym got snapped out of existence, this is it. This is what we have. We're not making any more.”
“Scott, calm down.” Rhodey said.
“You’ve got to chillax, man.” You nod.
“Sorry. We've got enough for one round trip each. That's it. No do-overs. Plus two test runs.” He waves around, and accidentally pressed a button. “One test run.”
You walk with him to the test chamber helping him prepare with Rocket, the others watching from a control panel.
“All right. I’m not ready for this.” Scott said shakily from his nerves.
“I’m game. I’ll do it.” Clint piped up. You and Rocket groan, since you just finished setting everything up for Scott.
You help Clint with the suit, telling him the controls while Rocket adjusts everything. Then, you step back to the control panel with the others.
“Clint, now you're gonna feel a little discombobulated from the chronoshift. Don't worry about it.” Bruce instructed.
“Wai-Wait a second, let me ask you something. If we can do this, you know, go back in time, why don't we just find baby Thanos, you know, and...” Rhodey made a hand gesture, suggesting that you strangle baby Thanos with a rope.
“Ooh, I like that plan.” Tye grinned, Rhodey also smiling and patting him on the shoulder proudly.
“First of all, that’s horrible...” Bruce said, disgusted at their joy from the idea of killing a child. “...And secondly, time doesn't work that way. Changing the past doesn't change the future.”
“Look, we go back, we get the stones before Thanos gets them... Thanos doesn't have the stones. Problem solved.” Scott shrugged.
“Exactly!” Tye nodded.
“Bingo.” Clint piped up.
“That’s not how it works.” Nebula rolled her eyes in annoyance.
“Well, that’s what I heard.” Clint shrugged.
“What? By who? Who told you that?” Bruce asked.
“Terminator, TimeCop, Time After Time-“ Rhodey began to list.
“Star Trek, Donnie Darko, Men in Black III.” You added.
“Quantum Leap and Meet the Robinsons.” Scott said.
“A Wrinkle in Time, Somewhere in Time-“ Rhodey nodded.
“Hot Tub Time Machine. Butterfly Effect. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Basically, any movie that deals with time travel.” Tye said, as if everyone was stupid for not knowing.
“Die Hard? No that’s not one...” Scott mumbled.
“This is known.” You say.
“I don't know why everyone believes that, but that isn't true. Think about it: If you travel to the past, that past becomes your future. And your former present becomes the past. Which can't now be changed by your new future...” Bruce explained to everyone.
“Exactly.” Nebula nodded.
“So...Back To The Future's a bunch of bullshit?” Scott asked, horrified.
“So my childhoods been ruined.” Tye mumbled, to which you and Rhodey nodded in agreement.
“Alright, Clint. We're going in 3... 2... 1!” Bruce presses the button. You all watch in anticipation, then Bruce hits the button again.
Clint appears again, breathing heavily. Natasha rushes over to him, the rest of you circling him.
“Hey, hey. Look at me. You okay?” Natasha asked.
“Yeah, it worked. It worked.” Clint held up a baseball glove.
“You ready for this?” You ask Tye, playing with your food, too nervous to eat.
“No.” He laughed bitterly.
“At least we don’t have to help them track down the Stones.” You sigh. The Avengers were all racking their brains, trying to track them all down. Since you and Tye knew nothing about the Stones, you were excused from the meeting.
“Yeah. God forbid we use a couple brain cells.” He chuckled.
“What if we screw it up?” You ask after a few moments of silence.
“That’s what I’m worried about. We only have one shot to bring everyone back.” He sighed.
“Hopefully the one we’re assigned won’t be hard to get.” You kick your feet up and drape your legs across his lap.
“Please, as if anything with this job is easy.” Tye scoffed, shoving your legs off of him.
“I’m just happy to see everybody again. Did you notice Clint’s fresh cut?” You grinned.
“And the tattoos.” Tye nodded. “And Thor kinda...bulked up.”
“He plays Fortnite now.” You nod.
“Excuse me?” Tye raised an eyebrow, before pretending to gag.
“It’s...disturbing.” You giggle.
“Guys!” Scott ran into the room, a panicked look on his face. You and Tye stand, waiting for him to continue. “We got it.”
You both rush out to the room they’d been planning in, seeing the plans on the holographic screen. After they thoroughly explain the plan, everyone headed to bed for a good nights rest. Tye stays behind, eyes scanning the screens.
Jaime is counting on him, his best friend is counting on him to bring him back to life. You’re counting on him to bring back Eduardo and Peter. Scott and Clint’s counting on him to bring their families back. Steve is counting on him to bring Bucky back. Everyone’s counting on him to bring everyone back, and it terrifies him.
“What are you doing, kid?”
He looks over to see Natasha in the doorway, a concerned look on her face.
“Just...triple checking.” He mumbled, trying to slow his breathing and calm his nerves.
“Hey, it’ll be okay.” Natasha walked over to comfort her son. “You’ll be with Y/N, you know how she is. Nothing ever goes wrong with her around.”
“It went wrong on Titan.” He muttered, then shook his head. “It’s just...Jaime, he’s like my brother. I need to bring him back.”
“We will bring him back. We’re going to bring everyone back.” She reassured him.
“Thanks...mom.”
“All right. We have a plan. Six Stones, three teams. One shot.” Steve says as everyone suits up. “Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends...We lost family...We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win. Whatever it takes.”
“Whatever it takes.” You all repeat, forming a circle and putting your fists in the middle. You look at everyone, each person has determination in their eyes.
“He's pretty good at that.” Rocket looked up at you.
“Right?” Scott said excitedly.
“All right. You heard the man. Stroke those keys, jolly green.” Tony told Bruce, who would be staying behind to make sure everything went smoothly on this end.
“Tractors engaged.” Bruce nodded.
“You promise to bring that back in one piece, right?” Rocket asks about his shrunken ship in Clint’s hand.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I'll do my best.” Clint nodded along.
“As promises go, that was pretty lame.” Rocket mumbled.
“See you in a minute.” Natasha smiles brightly at Clint and Tye.
“Good luck, mom.” Tye nodded.
And with that, you enter the Quantum Realm.
