The Next Mutation X-Men vs. Homelander
(Inspired by @criscrosspoints732 over on YoutTube)
Characters who can show Homelander the X-Factor!
When considering The Next Mutation X-Men, you would think this would be more in John's favor, given how among the many iterations of the team, they're on the younger and less-experienced side of the spectrum.
The X-Men have only been around for two years and are still very young with a lot of growing to do.
Whereas John has been a "hero" for about 20 years and is at the……honestly I don't think I can even call it the peak of his power since he hardly does anything!
However, there are a few reasons why these guys are definitely gonna clown on this clown.
First off, there's 12 of them, and only one of him.
Plus the fact that they all have powers doesn't help.
But what truly makes John screwed is what they're capable of and what they've done so far.
Let's look at the five members of the team who have been shown with their Secondary Mutations: Cyclops, Psyche, Beast, Storm and Angel.
Cyclops has been shown to make himself strong enough to smash through robots and rock formations, and lift entire jeeps over his head and throwing a considerable distance.
So while he's definitely weaker than John strength-wise, he does rival him in speed.
Cyclops can run and fly at about the same speed as Quicksilver, who can canonically run at supersonic speeds, which is about the same level as John.
Plus so far, his optic beams have shown to be strong enough to level a portion of a mountain!
John still has the damn plane feat!
Psyche can stop people dead in their tracks with her telekinesis and even crush their bodies (if she wanted to).
Plus she can control minds and manipulate psionic energy in various.
While it has been shown that telepathy doesn't work on those with incredibly low IQs.
But like…..John may be stupid, but he ain't THAT stupid!
When taking in his forms as of right now, Beast is about on the same level of strength as Cyclops.
Maybe even a bit lower.
But he does make up for it with agility and reflexes, largely thanks to his sasquatch and feline form.
This would make him pretty tricky for John to hit.
Now in the case of Storm…..what can he even do to her?
There's already the fact that she can control the weather, which would make even coming near her practically impossible.
But she can also become turn her entire body into specific elements!
So if John could actually get near Storm, he still wouldn't be able to touch her!
Plus the fact that we've seen her being capable of controlling the weather in her elemental state, just makes this so one-sided.
And just to make things worse for John, it's been shown that Ororo can make herself move at incredible speeds when going into her lightning form.
A lightning can move at the speed of LIGHT!
John can only move faster than the speed of sound!
And while Angel is unfortunately the least offensively capable of the five, she does make up for it with her healing factor.
Plus, that healing touch of hers is also pretty useful.
With Cyclops, Psyche and Storm unleashing their firepower, Beast using his agility for evasive maneuver to throw John off, and Angel serving as support to heal them if necessary, they've got this!
Hell, even the younger members of the team could take him down.
Nightcrawler can use his teleportation to throw John off and disorient him.
Colossus, even though he's a teenager, would be right around John's level of strength (at most, he's capable of lifting and throwing a plane).
Plus his steel skin would allow him to tank just about anything John has.
Iceman can move incredibly fast on his ice slides, which would make him hard to hit.
And Shadowcat can phase through any he can dish.
Plus they have Lockheed for fire power, and we've seen that his fire breath is capable of disintegrating The Broods!
With all ten of them together, they're definitely beating John.
Top that off with the fact that all have actual basic combat training, are all smart in their own way, have actual strategic planning, and are crafty and cunning.
All of which John has NONE of.
There's also the fact that they have experience facing off against actual threats.
John doesn't (since 99% of the time, HE'S the threat)!
So far, they've gone up against a fun-loving madman that not only created an amusement park full of death traps, but also created a giant mech that was immune to all their powers.
A disgraced geneticist with an army of robotic animals that could repair itself.
A big game hunter that could turn himself into anthropomorphic versions of African animals, who is also incredibly cunning and strategic.
A race of ravenous, bloodthirsty aliens that procreate by infesting victims with their eggs, which in turn transform them into members of that race.
And a psychopath empowered by an ancient Korean god of chaos and destruction!
Speaking of the last guy, he's not only nigh-invulnerable and becomes unstoppable when he starts running, but he's also been shown to be strong enough to bring down an entire MOUNTAIN!
John can only lift a plane!
Not to mention his strength is canonically on par with these two fuckers right here (who are leaps and bounds above John).
Tumblr media
And the worst about all this.
The X-Men have taken beatings from all these parties…..and survived.
Sure, they were fucked up, but they lived!
John wouldn't survive against any of these guys
Arcade would have him killed in the most brutal and comedic way imaginable.
Edwin's animal army would overwhelm the bastard and rip him to shreds.
Alexei would be taking his head as a trophy for his wall.
The Brood are gonna make him into a nursery.
And Juggernaut is gonna splatter this clown with so much as a light jab!
And when we add Xavier and Wolverine to the mix, John is even more screwed.
Xavier is an even stronger telepath than Psyche (in fact, he's the strongest on the planet), is capable of creating psionic energy constructs that can deal pretty significant damage, and has about 20 years of combat experience.
The man was in the Army.
And Wolverine has his healing factor that makes him essentially immortal (so John couldn't laser, blitz or punch him without him getting back uo), his Adamantium coated claws would cut right through him, and he has at least a CENTURY of combat experience.
Remember, this man has fought in actual WARS.
In all honesty. John would be better off facing off against the 616 X-Men!
Tumblr media
Not because they would be easier for him to face.
Oh fuck no.
Those guys are even more of a threat to his well-being than The Next Mutation X-Men!
Given the 616 characters are stronger than their Next Mutation counterparts (as of right now.....though maybe with the exception of Beast) and they have at least over a decade of combat experience!
But at the very least, they'll do much more favors for his ego.
This man is gonna get beaten by a bunch of teenagers, a dragon no bigger than an iguana, a manlet, and a man in a fucking wheelchair!

Hey Ariel!
If you don't mind, I'd like to share some of the upcoming episodes I have planned for "X-Men: The Next Mutation".
-"Flight of the Thunderbird": The X-Men travel down to Camp Verde, Arizona to visit their old pal Thunderbird for a special ceremony commemorating the impending awakening of his Secondary Mutation. However, our heroes will soon find themselves under attack by the forces of Edwin Martynec, an immoral mad geneticist who wants to capture the people of Camp Verde and continue doing experimentations on them. But possibly, Storm's Secondary Mutation can save the day.
-"On Angel's Wings": Angel has gone through her Secondary Mutation and is using it to help heal people in need, leading many to believe that she's an angel. Unfortunately, this catches the ire of the religious zealot William Stryker, who believes mutants are the work of The Devil. And upon finding this out, he and his terrorist group, The Purifiers decide to teach the mutants and those who are on their side a lesson in the name of the Lord.
-"Thanksgiving Blues": The first holiday special of the series. It's Thanksgiving day at the Westchester District, and Storm isn't exactly in a Thanksgiving mood, thanks to her past. But things only get less pleasant when The Brotherhood decided to visit The X-Men for a little brawl. This episode will also serve as the introductions to the X-Men members' families.
-"Ghosts of the Past": The first movie event of the series. It's a flashback episode, showing the X-Men during their early days, about two years ago. They've been invited to Washington D.C. in order to convince President Kelly to not launch the newly formed Sentinel Program. But things aren't easy with The Brotherhood lurking about. And if that wasn't bad enough, The X-Men find themselves having to deal with two more problems. The first being in the form of Wolverine, who was originally sent to kill the team in exchange for the safety of his family. And the second being their greatest foe, Magneto, the self-proclaimed savior of the mutants and the leader of The Brotherhood. Plus, this episode would reveal that Magneto has a connection to someone from one of the X-Men's past.
I am intrigued by these sinopsis, specially curious about the Thanksgiving episode because I want to see how many kids Mariko and Logan have and how is their dynamic with the team, and as a fan of God Loves, Man Kills, I am excited for you retaking the religious focus for Stryker and making him a primary antagonist for Angel.
