I've actually drawn her a few times but thanks for the excuse to draw a full body image of her.

She has Zebstrika aspects! and she does paint her hooves blue and red. In another thing built different in a world with aspects are headphones built to work with different shaped ears.

She is also still a model however I altered her clothing to be a bit more functional when battling because as a gym leader she often battles alongside her pokemon against others. She winds up injured, running around and pulling off attacks of her own. In other words these are specifically her battle clothes.

Also have a bonus kiddo Elesa when she still had blitzel aspects

I can't really say these films are my absolute 5 favourite, cause there are lots of others, but they are among the ones that popped up in my mind when I thought about what faves to share. Honorary mention to The Devil's Advocate but there could only be one Keanu in this poll and nothing beats The Matrix.

Someone followed my sprite blog who rbed a "DON'T DONATE TO AO3!!!!!1!!1!!1!!!!" Post that essentially boiled down to "They have too much money already!!! They have enough saved to run the website for 5 years without further donations!!!"

And I'm like..... "And????"

5 Years ain't that long of a time, hon. I know younger people think it is but damn have the years been racing by for me as I've gotten older.

Also, I'd rather Ao3 keep that surplus on hand and not have to dip into it unless for a financial emergency. Like if they start using their surplus now and then two years from now they get into financial hell for whatever reason, and all of that surplus saved up is gone, then Ao3 will be gone too.

Here's the thing--I get that people want to be like "DON'T DONATE TO AO3 DONATE TO X IMPORTANT CAUSE INSTEAD" and if you don't they tell you to off yourselves, and it's like. People with expendable money can and will donate to more than one thing. You do know that, right? You can donate to both. I know the argument is "YOU SHOULD PUT ALL OF YOUR MONEY IN THE BETTER CAUSE" but that kind of mentality leaves other important fundraising projects in the dust.

The preservation of fandom and fanfiction is an important cause, because preserving primarily queer literature is an important cause. It's not just because "Ooooh my favorite fanfics!!!!!1!!111!!", and it never has been. Fandom is primarily queer, and queer spaces are always in constant danger of being shut down at the smallest hint of a law break.

Which, on to the post's second point: Ao3 is not investing their surplus enough for a stable financial future.

I argue: Laws. Laws specifically for non-profit organizations and how much money they can get from investments before they go from "non-profit" to "profit."

I can't find any easy-to-read US law on the subject, but considering that Ao3 is a predominant queer space with lots of queer media that everyone with an internet has access to, that excessive scrutiny over OTW will be brutal if OTW isn't careful. Again, I am not sure how much money they can invest and make in investments, but due to the nature of the website and how queerphobic the US government has become/has always been, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why investments aren't a viable option to OTW was simply because of how quickly things can go downhill if they start making too much money. Because I hope you people realize the moment Ao3 is deemed as a "for-profit" organization by homophobic governors who are clutching their pearls and chanting "think of the children!" at the horny gay furry porn on Ao3, that it will get utterly destroyed by copyright law and shut down within a year, at the longest.

So yeah. Idk, donate to whatever the fuck you want tbh? If you wanna donate to a fundraiser that is aiming to protect queer literature written for free by fans in fandom, then by all means, donate. It's not the soulless cause you think it is.

Heya! Your artsyle is so cool, and I thought "That looks french" and lo and behold, you're at the gobelins. The french touch really is something in art i guess. Care to share your fav inspirations? I'm a fan of a lot of things, and I don't draw according to most of them, but old ass comics like Thorgal have my heart!

(this might be a long one, do NOT ask me to talk about things I like or do so at your own risk ; now, BUCKLE UP)

As a kid, I also read a lot of old comics (never Thorgal, which is weird for a fantasy nerd, but I'll come back to it later), I absolutely adored Franquin's Gaston Lagaffe (and still do) ; we also had a whole bunch of Astérix and Tintin (classic french kid education ^^).

Also, honorable mention to F'murr's "Le Génie des alpages", this page lives rent-free in my head :

Now, FANTASY : then, boom, at 10-ish, I discovered Le Tendre & Loisel's "La Quête de l'Oiseau du Temps", which was WILDLY inappropriate for my age, but I think a lot of illustrators and artists my age have similar stories, and it made a huge impact on me and still allows me to flex to all the old dudes that populate comic festivals in France (but that's a whole other can of worms), soooo I guess things turned out all right.

A few years later, I also got into Dufaux & Rosinski's "La Complainte des landes perdues" (same artist as Thorgal !) and Bourgeon's "Les Compagnons du crépuscule" :

(I have trouble finding pages of La Complainte's OG series because there were a ton of spin-offs, but the first 4 books are a banger, as far as I remember)

Concerning "Les Compagnons du Crépuscule", I first got into Bourgeon's work through "Les Passagers du vent", because if there's one thing I'm just as obsessed with as fantasy, it's SHIPS and adventures at sea [intense look towards Black Sails and The Terror], but LCC left more of an impact on me, I think.

A personal note about La Quête and Les Compagnons du Crépuscule : these comics are OLD and I have complicated feelings about the way they depict their female protagonists. Yes, they're not the absolute worst I've seen, they do have a mind of their own and some cool moments (oh boy is that bar LOW), but eeeeehhhhhh growing up as a girl and going "ah, so THIS is the role I can have in a story that I otherwise like a lot ?" was not... super fun, let's say. (another can of worms for my queer ass to open later)

Fast forward to 2012 and my very first year of art school : I got super obsessed with Cyril Pedrosa because my aunt lent me her copy of "Trois Ombres", which has the disctinction of being the first book that made me cry :

Around the same time, I also really got into Mathieu Bablet's "La Belle Mort" because I was right in the middle of my Tekkon Kinkreet (the animated film, not the source comic ; it took me a while to get to it) phase and these backgrounds looked so good :

BUT the biggest thing for me that year was that our comics/narration teacher, Joseph Lacroix, was a huge Mignola fan, and, well, you can guess what happened...

He showed us this :

And boom, brain chemistry altered (@totheredandblack this one's for you 👀)

I also need to show you his own work, because every time I bring him up in french comic festivals, I get a blank stare -

- and he was also a huge influence on me along with Mignola (maaan I wish I could draw battles and skeletons like he does)

Also, let's circle back to Mignola : I love Hellboy like everyone and their mother, but my real soft spot is for his Fafhrd & The Gray Mouser adaptation, which I stumbled upon at the Cité de la bande dessinée's library in Angoulême back in 2013 :

Number 1 : Around 2013-2014, I discovered Jake Wyatt's work (he has a tumblr, @jakewyattriot , but he seems more active on instagram nowadays), and boom, once again, brain chemistry altered.

(just in case not everyone here knows about Necropolis, just LOOK AT THAT)

Number 2 : in 2020-ish, while I was working on Les Songes du roi griffu, I was kinda struggling with mountains, and I remembered an artist my dad had told me about, Cosey ; I still haven't fully read a lot of his books, but his backgrounds are incredible (it's also interesting to see how his line changed over the years, which is actually true for a lot of the artists I mentionned above).

lol never mind I guess. There was a great emotional scene after which hit the exact points I wanted it to, and then after THAT the character was just... brought back from the dead, something that hadn't ever been a thing before.

Man, some shows have REALLY got to be a little less obvious with their death flags, otherwise big scenes just have no impact.

They're checking out one last tip, on the way it's dropped that the Non-Main Character is getting married (and I immediately called it there), the tip takes them to BBEG lair, the NMC is told to leave and call for backup but he doesn't. The BBEG shows up.

Idk why but I don't know if I should feel weirded out or not of the fact that out of the prisons that Dr. Retro could've been in, IT'S THE FUCKING GUANTANAMO BAY DETENTION CAMP 😭?! THE SAME PRISON KNOWN FOR BASICALLY VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS AND STRAIGHT ABUSING THEIR PRISONERS?!
