Deep, deep breaths.
That tangle of nerves in your stomach you might be feeling right now... it will be, I hope, the very last time you feel it.
Soon, the feeling will be replaced with a joyful fluttering in the stomach, that there's extremely good news. It could be the one you've been waiting for... the rightful return of the man you've been supporting for so long to HW. Finally his good name's attached to a new project. The phoenix is reborn.
It could be news that he's gotten a new place, that there are more pictures of him enjoying his life, his friends, protecting his peace. Maybe it's news that he's continuing on his journey of self-care and being the support system that others need, and that he's so good at being. Whatever it is, it will be good news. We've seen a trickle of it for a while now... but there will be a steady stream of it... soon.
Because he's trying, he's telling his story. We can debate 'til the cows come home about what is being told, but in the end, we'll be right there with him, like we have from the very beginning. Because we've always known just what kind of man he is (and I can say with confidence, a good one) and we love him.
We got this. He's got this. 💙🫂 Together now.. upwards and onwards.

Blues & Jazz i ett historiskt perspektiv. Musikhistoriskt dokument: Del 6!

HGUC 1/144 P-Bandai Principality of Zeon Mass Production Mobile Suit MS-06GD-01 "Zaku II" High Mobility Surface Type (Egba Alter Custom)
Finally finished!!! I've been working on this kit in the background for a couple of months now. I really loved these guys in the Cucuruz Doan's Island movie, as sort of unique upgraded Zaku IIs that skate around like the Doms from the original anime.
The part of this kit that originally attracted me was the camouflage pattern. All of the details are water decals. This was my first time working with them, and although I found them really frustrating to work with sometimes they give a much better looking effect than the dry decals and foil stickers from normal kits. I added some extra details inspired by some of my friends' tank models, including a cam-net cape made using a gauze bandage (that isn't actually there on Egba's machine in the anime).
There are 5 versions of this machine, for the members of the Southern Cross Corps. Egba Alter's version comes with a combat knife in place of the classic Zaku II heat hawk. This can be held as a sidearm and attached to the hip skirt or fixed as a bayonet to the zaku machine gun.

The kit also comes with a spare pan magazine, which I've attached to the opposite hip.
Egba's mobile suit has a heat rod attached to the backpack, which comes with a heat-off and heat-on option. I added some red to make it look more like heated metal and less like a big yellow stick.

Overall I'm really really happy with how this kit turned out! I'm nearly done with my really long backlog and I'm finally starting to fill up my display.

I've been having a teeny-tiny bit of stress/worry/anxiety since Timmy was announced as guest picker for Week 15 ESPN Gameday. I'm sure he'll be fine, really. It'll all be fine. But the comments are truly brutal, like the deck is stacked against him before he even shows up.
BUT
I have faith I him. It'll all be fine. EGBA.
And in the meantime, i distracted myself with this:
If you end up reading it, I hope you enjoy.

Okay so i am seeing a lot of people talking about the Armie unfollowing Timmy or something going around. And all I have to say about that is this-
I am not going anywhere. period. I am staying here. why? because I support both of them whether together or apart. I have always been that way from day one since coming into this particular fandom.
It happens. People grow apart whether they are famous or not. Friends change, people change, and both grow apart in different directions.
If anything I see this through the lens of basically the call me by your name scenario. There is a reason the two of them are apart right now. Maybe, it is only for a short time. I don't know. I am not a mind reader. However, I do believe that in my deepest of hearts that when the time is right for them.
They will be back together some how in whatever way the universe decides to give it to us. Whether it is through Luca and Find Me or something else entirely.
Remember both Armie and Timmy have things going on within their own lives. That are very positive Timmy has two new movies that are going to be coming out. And Armie has his podcast, and that new movie that he is apart of! Armie is working on building his career again just as we wanted for him!
These are good things! We are going to be just fine guys. We have been through some crazy shit this fandom. People have come and gone and we have seen some crazy shit. But look at all of those who are still here despite all that. We have to take the good with the bad that is just the way life is some times. I know a lot of you are sad right now and thats okay.
EGBA CHARMIES. we got this we are going to come out on the other side and we are going to come out of this just fine.

I'm so happy for Armie. He was suffering for so long, all that was so hard and painful - but it was so worthy of freedom! He survived, he won, he took his freedom and dignity, he got a fair custody on his beloved kids, in the end he got everything on HIS (very fair) condition - using outcome of her incredible stupidity, toxicity, vindictiveness and narcissistic cuntiness against her - and she got big fat ZERO. He even let her sort of to save the face with not suing her and giving her that laughable symbolic 1.5K minimum (personally I would throw her in court and let her to rote in hell, but Armie's much better and more noble man than me). Now it's ALL over. Fly free, my dear man, only onwards and upwards! Take everything you lost back. I'm respect and admire you more and more every day and will wait for your comeback. EGBA 💙💙💙 P.S. Special thanks to Laura Wasser

SEH-DONG-HONG-BEH // WARRIOR
“She was a leader of the Dahomey Amazons. In 1851, she led an all-female army consisting of 6,000 warriors against the Egba fortress of Abeokuta, to obtain slaves from the Egba people for the Dahomey slave trade. She was portrayed in a hand drawn, partially colored portrait in her uniform, armed with a musket and holding a captive's severed head, in the 1851 book "Dahomey and the Dahomans" by abolitionist Frederick Edwyn Forbes.”

Armie! I know you won't see this, but I want to let it be known that I'm extremely proud of you. Your resilience and sobriety are an amazing example to me, I've never doubted you for a second since all the lies started to be spread about you. Thank you for not giving up, thank you for putting in the work to be a better person to others around you, but most importantly thank you for giving yourself the love you deserve. Long life, my dear, God bless you and your children. 💙

Making a little history.....
We must remember that African slaves began to arrive in the Americas around the year 1501.
The first to arrive came from Lusitanian factories, because Portugal started the slave trade by leaning on the chiefs of some coastal tribes who hunted and sold to members of other tribes to whom they considered strangers or hostile.
It is thought that between 1821–1860, at least three hundred and fifty thousand African slaves from southeastern Nigeria and all over the Slave Coast, from the huge Congo basin to Liberia and French Guinea were brought to Cuba alone.
The way they influenced us, YORUBA were the most important.
YORUBA is the term that identifies all those who spoke the same language regardless of whether they were not united politically. Yoruba peoples had very important urban and artistic development, but their influence on us was exercised through religion. Their ORISHAS or deities are still alive among us and comply with the RULE OF OCHA or santery.
While they lived in Africa, each Orisha was the heritage of a particular village or region:
In Oyó, Changó was worshiped.
Yemaya was worshiped in Egba.
In Ekiti and Orido, Oggun was worshiped.
In ijebu and ijosa ochun was worshipped.
Nevertheless, some cults covered the whole region, such as that of Obatalá or that of Oddúa, founding father of whom all Yoruba rulers consider themselves descendants. I must clarify that in almost all cases, these were men who, once dead, were deified.
According to the Yorubas, the metamorphosis from human to God occurred in moments of emotional crisis, passion burned the physical body of the individual and only remained his ACHÉ, that is, pure energy in the form of power and, as this religion is intimately linked to the family, it was necessary that relatives set the FOUNDATION or pot that served as a container of this energy. It's in the FOUNDATION where the offerings are given.
The Orisha, although a deity, does not fail to be a relative, a familiar good that is passed down through the paternal line.
When in the time of the colony the Holy Office allowed in these lands the feasts that were the traditional way to summon the deities with the spirit of avoiding the rebellion of the slaves, he never imagined that what they witnessed was an elaborate religious liturgy. This is how syncretism was born, when at the beat of the drums Changó mimicated with Santa Barbara, Babalú Ayé with San Lazarus and so a long list of other saints and orichas.
Greetings.

Tie-dye’: Discover 5 unique things you can do with Adire

‘Adire’, also known as ‘tie-dye,’ is an indigenous fabric produced with wax to design and create different patterns. It is mainly made by the people of Egba in Abeokuta Ogun state, south-west Nigeria. Adire is a craft passed down from one generation to another, mostly from mother to daughter.
Adire patterns portray animals, tools, plants, and other concepts. In Nigeria, there are three primary ways of making tie-and-dye. They are Oniko, which involves tying raffia to make white circles on a blue fabric; Eleko, which consists of using chicken feathers and cassava paste to create something like block printing; and, lastly, Alabere, which requires stitching raffia with fabric before dyeing.
As a creative or tailor, you must explore and showcase the African heritage through tie and dye. Below are things you can do with Adire:
1. Throw pillow
Throw pillows complement furnishing and brighten up a room. Adire would give your pillow a unique appearance, unlike velvet, leather, or silk. It is like utilizing Yoruba culture to express your craft.
2. T-shirt
If you’re into the T-shirt business, you know making them in adire style is very in vogue. People are currently into adire design. You can focus on collecting customers’ t-shirts, changing to tie and dye patterns or making them ready-to-wear.
3. Bag
You can use adire to make totes or handbags, travellers bags, school bags, and shopping bags. It is another way of representing and promoting our heritage. You can decide to be flexible with it by adding other textiles to make it more durable.
4. Bedspread
It is good for you to understand the basics of tie and dye. If you still need to, you can go to those who are really into it. From there, you can start to turn your cotton fabrics into adire and sell.
5. Shoes
If you’re not a cobbler whereby you make shoes from scratch, your services can be based on turning shoe colour into tie and dye. You can also delve into sandals and slippers.

If anyone is looking for film recommendations about the women who paved the way for us please watch Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti on prime.
I was lucky enough to see it in cinemas and it was so good. It was focused majorly on her work with setting up the Abeokuta Woman’s union and how colonialism as well as patriarchy played a role in the subjugation of the Egba women of southern Nigeria at the time.
#radblr#film recs#FRK is the woman in my user by the way she did a lot to help advance the rights of women in nigeria#the film does have a little bit of romance which imo was a bit unnecessary but it was still really good
