JELLYBLOB is the Wild Arms take on the now classic RPG enemy archetype of the Slime/Gelatinous Cube/Ooze very probably taken from the classic horror film monster, The Blob --orioginally a 1958 film, it is probably best remembered for the 1988 remake by Chuck Russell.

GELDAM is a weird recolor right off the bat... I feel like it has to be a reference to the evil organization Geldam from the original Kamen Rider series; they were a second evil organization that merged the first, SHOCKER, after the initial defeat and formed Gel-SHOCKER to continue fighting the Kamen Riders. Where as SHOCKER's monsters of the week were all "animal+man" GelSHOCKER's monsters were all fusions of two animals. But somehow none of this seems relevant to this recolor blob monster... Also in WA2 it definitely looks like it's not jelly at all but just a pile of fried rice?? It even has the peas and carrots...

ELDERSINK/ELDERSING have been consistently misromanized throughout the series and are supposed to be ELDERTHING, as in the H.P. Lovecraft aliens featured in At The Mountains of Madness. They change to being recolors of the barnacle-like monsters in WA2, which feels slightly more apt, but then never appear again.

ROPER is another D&D monster, a towering mound of monstrous flesh that mimics the texture of cave stone, but when approached can lash out with whip-like tendrils. The use of the barnacle model is actually a super clever match.

LAND ANEMONE is a sea anemone but on land... Which is funny considering the sea anemone is named after the flower anemone, which is, you know... already on land. It gets a weird overhaul for Code F and Code F alone before turning into the weird little dude in WA4 and 5 that ROPER appears to get its model from.

BLACK PUDDING is another D&D monster, and a part of the broader Ooze family that includes Jellies, Cubes, and Ooblex, etc...

and finally, MU, which I'm not really all that sure about... On the one hand it's a homonym with the Japanese word mu[無]: "Nothing" but it could also be a reference to the lost continent of Mu; a myth often compared to that of Atlantis(even though Atlantis literally wasn't a myth, it was conceived of as fiction even in its own time...) Japan in particular seems to have a penchant for referencing it in popculture. It could be argued the blobs are supposed to be a nod to the aquatic nature of the sunken civilization? Feels like sort of a stretch though...

I had literally just finished watching the film Underwater (spoiler alert: a protagonist actually gets eaten by a deep sea monster - and survives) when Sons of the Singularity tasked me with this creature from The Deep lurking about a Vietnamese port. They have these fantastic painted bows there that were lovely to put into the image. And I got to add jellyfish!
