(end of the universe DW post response) no because I was watching it and although the doctor’s response for the edge of everything, such as the universe, exists, is such a horrifying concept that he brushed off but Also Didn’t. (Because we saw how he was at the end of the episode) but it was so jarring for so many reasons. Seeing total nothingness and then at the end having it fill with shrapnel never to be found again…..horrifying. Anywhoozles

I think "Wild Blue Yonder" might both be one of my favorite episodes purely for fear factor alone. I haven't felt scared like that since "Midnight".

Moffat gets credit for being good at scary episodes, and, yeah, admittedly he is pretty good at monsters (the Weeping Angels in "Blink" and the dolls in "Night Terrors" are pretty scary), but I forget that RTD is really, really good at fear, too.

Both "Midnight" and "Wild Blue Yonder" deal with the fear of the unknown and the alien in such a visceral way. We never see the creature in the former, and we never see the No-Things' true forms in the latter... but they're both still terrifying. Those episodes take something comforting, like the people you know and love, and turns them into something uniquely wrong. It's not an entirely unique idea, but, man, if it isn't effective.

Same with the nothingness at the edge of the universe. The horror of there being absolutely nothing at all out there, just a yawning dark that's cold and possibly very, very hungry... Whoof. I love it. I hate it, but oh, I love it. The way Fourteen leaned over into the window, over the dark, into the Nothing... the only thing separating him from the universe and total nonexistence being a layer of glass and a little metal gave me chills.

I'm very excited to see where he takes the show.

4.) which television series do you use as a form of escapism?

- so not so surprisingly lol, i have a quite a few series that i use as a form of escapism 😅 those series are the umbrella academy, the office, psych, doctor who, derry girls, misfits (but like tbh, just first two series cause i have a hard time with no nathan lol), supernatural, schitt’s creek, steven universe, russian doll, wandavision, quantum leap (the original series and the new one 🥰), bob’s burgers, gilmore girls, the haunting of hill house and altered carbon 😅🖤

(i’m sure there are probably a lot of other shows lol. but those were the ones that i though of like right away 💙)

9.) what is you favorite environmental season? why?

- summer. summer is my favorite 🥰 i love the sunshine, i love it being warm, i love being able to swim 💙 ooh or those days where you swim for hours and then when you get out of the pool and get dressed and then it hits you that you’re reeeally tired so you decide to take a nap, those are some of the best naps! and i usually take those naps in the summer lol. or i love being able to take a nap in the summer when the sun is shining through the window and laying in the warmth of the sun ☺️ i love the sun being out until after 9pm. i love how the sky looks when the sun does finally start setting in the summer. when it gets all pink, purple-ish blue 🥺 omg and i love being able to wear flip flops! i love how summer time makes me feel 🖤 i mean not everything is perfect or suddenly/magically better and all my problems are gone lol. but summer just gives me a little hope. there are more things i love about summer but i’ll leave it at that for now lol.

so my answers for the other questions are under the cut 😅 i realize that like always, i wrote a lot and don’t wanna make anyone have to scroll through all this if they don’t necessarily wanna read all of it lol

11.) what is one song that’s able to bring you to tears?

- so there are quite a few songs that are always able to bring me to tears lol. but one for sure is The Way by Fastball. (it always does and has since i was a kid. also. if you don’t know the song, i recommend looking it up. it is a good song and the lyrics are beautiful! it just breaks my heart.) ooh!! i also have to mention the song After All by Peter Cetera and Cher. (it’s my parents song/the song they danced to at their wedding and it always makes me cry 😅 idk totally know why it does, but it does lol. like no joke, i saw Cher in concert in 2019, and i had no idea she was gonna sing that song, and when she did, i was recording a video and crying while i sang along lmao!)

48.) which animal would you be the most terrified to encounter?

- there are a lot of animals i’m terrified of lol. idk if this is the one that i’m like the most terrified of if i were to ever encounter them but, i am legit very scared peacocks. like no joke, i am 😳😂 i am very terrified of them! like they let them walk around at the zoo and people will purposefully like mess with them and try to piss them off and they are sooo scary when they’re mad! but i always just assume they’re mad when ever i’ve gone to the zoo, so i’m just always very on edge when i’m at the zoo or if they’re in the same/general area i’m in lmao.

50.) what purpose do you get out of using tumblr?

- the purpose i get out of using tumblr is that it’s an escape for me. it’s where i can go to when everything feels like too much and i can let myself get distracted by all of the random, chaotic, funny, crazy and interesting things that are on here. i use tumblr as a place where i can indulge in my love for all of my favorite shows, characters, movies, musicians/bands, songs/albums and actors/actresses. where i can fangirl hard over those things with people and friends who love them just as much as i do 💙☺️ and i can let myself get distracted in the things that make me happy and it gives me a little break from my mind/anything and everything that’s going on.

i use tumblr/my blog as journal. this is somewhere that i feel safe and comfortable enough to get out my thoughts and feelings. i know/realize that journals are usually very private and most people use like actual notebooks or maybe the notes app on their phone and maybe not the internet 😅 but idk… i just feel like this is a safe place for me. this feels right to me to come here and use my blog as a journal for myself.

billy with a boombox outside win's window but the music coming from the speakers is decidedly not appropriate

Say Anything

⇾ w.c. 623 words ⇾ warning(s). none really ⇾ a/n: let's just pretend that say anything didn't come out in '89 for the sake of this timeline lol. Also, it's been a bit since I've written Win & Billy, so hopefully I'm not completely out of practice 😅

Sighing heavily, Win grimaced as she realized she’d just sighed again for the umpteenth time in the past ten minutes.

She’d been irritable all morning, snapping at Billy for something dumb he’d said – she couldn’t even remember exactly what it had been now – but she’d stormed off, coming home to fume about it.  On any other day, she probably would have scoffed at him and rolled her eyes, or tell him to fuck off half jokingly and then forget about it, but today she’d taken it personally, even when she knew he hadn’t meant it that way.

It was stupid.  And now she was in her room crying over it, wanting to call him, but too stubborn to, half hoping he’d call her.

The faint sound of music drifting through her window caught her attention and she wiped at her eyes before lifting her head from her pillow and rolling out of bed, grabbing the first thing she found to throw on, which happened to be one of Billy’s cutoffs she’d stolen, the Ratt logo on the front faded.

Pushing the window open, she found Billy standing outside by the curb next to his Camro, boombox hoisted over his head as it blared KISS.

“What the hell are you doing?” Win exclaimed, having to raise her voice to be heard over the music.

I really love you, baby, I love what you've got.  Let's get together, we can get hot.

“Apologizing,” Billy called, walking closer, a grin tugging at his lips.

“As far as apology’s go, I’m not really sure about this one,” Win teased, leaning against the window sill, trying to keep the amusement from her face.  As soon as she’d seen him standing there, she knew she’d already forgiven him.

No more tomorrow, baby, time is today.  Girl, I can make you feel okay.

“Aw c’mon, what’s so bad about it?” Billy asked, raising an eyebrow at her.  “I thought you were into this romantic shit?”

“Romantic shit?” Win repeated incredulously.  “I don’t know if I’d exactly call this romantic,” she huffed, her chest aching with affection.

“What’s not romantic about it?  Is it the choice of song?”

No place for hiding, baby.  No place to run.  You pull the trigger of my, love gun. 

Win snorted, clamping her mouth shut to keep from laughing.  “Yeah, that might have something to do with it.”

Billy frowned.  “I thought it expressed my feelings pretty well,” he explained, biting his lip to keep from smirking.

“Oh– oh, I see,” Win quipped, shaking her head.  “So you just wanna get in my pants, is that it?”

“Well, that’s part of it,” Billy shrugged.  “But I really am apologizin’ here.  I was an ass earlier.”

Win’s lips curled slightly.  “Yeah, I know.”

Billy directed her a long suffering look.  “I’m sorry!” he exclaimed.

You can't forget me, baby, don't try to lie.  You'll never leave me, mama, so don't even try.

“Do you forgive me yet?” Billy called over the music when Win didn’t respond, half afraid she was gunna tell him no, just get back at him, but when she broke into a grin, he knew he'd succeeded.

“Yes, okay!” Win exclaimed, leaning further out her window.  “Now will you shut that off and get over here before you wake my dad up?” she cried, her voice tinged with laughter.

Billy shut off the boombox and set it down, striding to her open window.  “You know, your room being on the first floor kinda ruins the effect somewhat,” he pointed out, stepping closer so Win could wrap her arms around his shoulders.

“Yeah, a bit,” she agreed, “but it makes it so much easier for you to sneak in,” she grinned, letting him kiss her.

Ten Facts: Win x Nathan

When they first met, Win thought Nathan was an obnoxious prick, but he made her laugh, and she hated that she found him attractive. It wasn't until he started flirting with Ruth that she realized, to her chagrin, that she was actually jealous and reluctantly admitted to herself that she liked him.

Win is constantly stealing Nathan's shirts and hoodies, but he doesn't care that much, he thinks she looks better in his clothes than he does, plus his shirts always smell like her perfume when he finally gets them back.

One of their favourite activities is getting high and watching nature documentaries together, then going to ASDA to get junk food at 3 in the morning.

Win's very competitive, and their trips to the arcade usually end up with her beating Nathan by a landslide. They never leave without at least giving the crane game a go, though they've only ever won once. Nathan managed to win Win a little stuffed crocodile.

Neither of them are great cooks by any means, but Nathan is marginally better, even if some of his cooking methods are a little unorthodox. Win will set fire to the kitchen if left unsupervised. They usually get takeout, but Nathan's go to meal is grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Before they were actually dating, Nathan lost count of how many times he accidentally slipped and nearly called her his girlfriend.

Nathan comes to every one of Win's band's shows--mostly because he's overwhelmingly proud of her, but also because he wants to make sure no one hits on her. He also secretly wishes she'd write a song for/about him.

Nathan always falls asleep spooning Win, but by the time they wake up, she's spooning him.

Nathan first proposed on a lark while they were on vacation in Vegas, using a sour apple ringpop instead of a real ring. Though Win was flattered, she told him she wasn't ready to get married yet, only because she was afraid he wasn't taking it seriously. The second time he asked her was more thought through and with a real ring, and that time she said yes.

Win considers when Nathan stood up for her to her family the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for her, not to mention the moment she knew for certain that she was in love with him.

A/N: This fic is now a year old! 🥳🎉 Anyone who is still reading it after all this time gets a coconut: 🥥 You may also be pleased to know that we are now on the downhill slope, so strap in mystery fans! 😘😘 I probably should have posted this in time for Day Five of @sheehalloween but I’m posting it today because I’m just not that bloody organised.

Snippet from Chapter 27 Phone:

This is the first morning he’s not suffered from either a stinking hangover, a drug-induced haze or the horrifying symptoms of withdrawal in… well, he can’t even really be sure how long.

All he knows is that he feels fantastic. Blood pumping on high. Lungs filled with scented air. Skin glowing with that post-coital glow. The only thing that could possibly put a dampener on this mood is… sitting in the corner with his arms folded across his chest scowling at Klaus like a recently neutered cat.

“I hope you’re proud of yourself,” says Ben.

“Well, it wasn’t my best performance, but I’d score it a solid eight out of ten,” replies Klaus, giving his belly a scratch. “You might want to avert your eyes, brother. I need a piss and I’m kinda au naturel under these sheets.”

Ben makes a disgusted noise as Klaus hobbles to his feet and hops to the bathroom.

“It isn’t going to work, you know,” Ben calls after him.

Klaus checks his gums and eyeballs in the huge bathroom mirror - all still present, nothing disgusting wedged in them, barely bleeding at all. Another success. “What isn’t going to work?”

“Your little escape plan. They’ll catch up to you sooner or later. And even if they don’t, are you really going to spend your whole life as a fugitive on the run?”

Klaus shrugs at his reflection, then lifts the lid on the toilet. “Beats being buttfucked in prison for the rest of my life,” he calls out over the sound of his stream.

“Don’t pretend like you wouldn’t love that.”

Klaus allows Ben a short chuckle at that. Touché, Ben. Touché.

Whoo yeah, older brother! LOL It's super nostalgic for me, too. I didn't start watching until I was 16 but it will always have a very soft place in my heart.

Anyway! Aw, man, I loved The Star Beast! It was so lighthearted and fun, and just the right amount of serious/emotional that I really missed from RTD's era. It struck a good balance. I also really love the new TARDIS interior. It's so clean and BIG. I'll always miss the corals from Nine and Ten's TARDIS, but, wow, watching DT run around the set like he's on Broadway might've made me cry a little lol

i’m so so sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this!

okay so my answers for this are long (i’m really sorry, i didn’t mean to write so much) and since i’m sure not everyone wants to sit here and scroll through my rambling nonsense, everything is under the cut 😅

sooo ngl, i’m a pretty picky eater 🙃😅 and i don’t actually eat a big variation or vegetables or fruit. a good portion of why is cause it’s a texture thing. i just- *shivers* nope, i’m sorry. i can’t do it 😅🤦‍♀️

so since i don’t eat a big variation or either, most of both of those are my least favorites lol. like i can’t do broccoli! cooked or uncooked, i just can’t! between the texture and the actual taste just- no thank you friend. 😅 (when my mom cooks vegetables like with dinner, she cooks them until they’re like mushy cause that’s how she ate them growing up and she likes it but i just can’t do it.. couldn’t as a kid, still can’t as an adult)

but it also doesn’t make a lot of sense cause i love bananas. and they’re mushy and have a weird texture and yet, i love them lol. maybe it’s cause the actual like taste of bananas is like sweet (idk how else to describe it lol) and that like makes up for the texture. but the texture just also doesn’t bother me. it’s so weird 🤦‍♀️

although, i have grown to like how onions taste and that was both a taste and texture thing for a long time. but a few years ago (i don’t remember how long ago lol) it changed and i could get past the texture depending on how they were cooked and they just actually started to taste really good 😅

so yeah if it’s not cucumbers, apples, bananas, lettuce, onions (like in a salad, on a burger, onion rings or if it’s like cooked into something), watermelon, carrots (uncooked) or grapes, the rest are on my least favorite list. lol.

have i tried every kind of fruit and vegetable? no.

then how do i know i don’t like them until i try them?

because i’m picky and thanks to my stubborn brain, i can’t and won’t take the chance that they have a gross texture or just don’t taste good.

and until i’m really ready to try it and it’s on like my terms, (and i don’t feel like i have to eat it/feel pressured to eat it/try it or someone is giving me a hard time about it and making me feel bad, so to appease them, i’ll try it) i just don’t like it. 😂🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

and as for my least favorite condiment -

if it’s not ketchup, some kind of italian dressing or like my family’s pasta/tomato sauce, pretty much any other condiment is my least favorite 😅

⇾ a/n. i’m sick myself atm and wanted something cute and fluffy to take my mind off how awful i feel

“Hey, what’re you doing up?” Billy exclaimed when he heard Win shuffle into the cramped kitchen.

“I was gunna make some tea—“ she began, pointing to the kettle on the stove, her voice hoarse and scratchy.

Billy gave her a level look. “What’d I tell you? If you need something, tell me and I’ll get it for you,” he said, twisting the knob for the burner beneath the kettle before rounding the counter to haul Win back to the bedroom.

“You gotta stay under the blankets til your fever breaks,” he huffed, lifting her easily despite her weak protests and gently laying her down, plying her with blankets before lowering himself to the edge of the bed.

“I know, but—“

“Quit being stubborn, Winnie,” Billy snapped, cutting her off before letting out a sigh and softening. “Look, I know you can take care of yourself, but you don’t have to,” he murmured, pushing her damp bangs from her forehead to feel her temperature. “That’s what I’m here for,” he said gently, leaning in to press his lips to the top of her head.

“I know, but I don’t want to inconvenience you…” Win whispered, her eyes not quite meeting his and Billy clicked his tongue.

“Stop that,” he said firmly. “You’re not an inconvenience. I want to take care of you,” he insisted, his blue eyes watching her gently.

Win made a sound in her throat, her lips pouting slightly. “But I look so gross right now,” she muttered, her words making Billy snort softly.

“You’re just as beautiful as always.”

“Yeah, okay,” she huffed doubtfully, rolling her eyes and quickly covering her mouth to cough. “My hair’s a mess, I’m sweaty and clammy, and my nose is all red,” she argued, her voice nasally.

Despite all that, Billy grinned. “Yeah, so? Doesn’t make me any less attracted to you,” he pointed out, caressing her cheek.

“Ugh, why are you so sweet?” she sighed, her eyelids fluttering weakly.

Before Billy could answer, the kettle began to whistle and he stood, going to take it off the heat. When he returned with her mug of steaming hot tea, she pushed herself up to accept it, letting out a cracked moan as she took a sip.

“Thank you,” she murmured, her gaze flicking up to his. “And thank you for taking care of me. I’ve… forgotten what that feels like,” she admitted, clearing her throat, letting the warmth from the mug seep into her hands.

“I’ll always take care of you, baby,” Billy breathed, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Whether you want me to or not,” he added, his lips twitching slightly.

“Good,” she said, tugging him back down to the bed. “Cause I think I could use some extra warmth,” she teased.

“Oh, you do, do you?” Billy laughed, carefully laying next to her, wrapping her up in his arms.

“Mhmm, and you’re better than any blanket.”
