Things That Irk Me In Ace Attorney Fanfics:

When Larry is a pervert, bad friend and seen as the butt of every joke.

When Klavier is depicted as a pervert and pushy in his romantic endeavors.

When Phoenix hates Klavier and avoids him.

When people don’t acknowledge that Pearls is as much of a daughter to Phoenix as Trucy.

When people don’t add Sebastian into the Miles family and only see Kay as Miles’ adopted daughter.

When people don’t add Kay to the Phoenix, Miles and Trucy family.

When people don’t add Sebastian or Apollo to the Trucy, Kay, Miles and Phoenix family.

When Franziska and Phoenix hate each other and only tolerate each other for the sake of Miles and Trucy.

When Klavier and Ema aren’t see as worsties.

When Miles is seen as not seeing Ema as a daughter either.

When people think that Phoenix doesn’t care as much about Ema as he does to all of his adopted weird girl assistants.

When people see Athena and Simon as lovers instead of siblings/family.

When people don’t think that Phoenix sees Apollo and Athena as part of his family and then they get left out of the loop.

When people don’t make the prosecutor’s office a family.

Will probably add more. Also, not saying that people are wrong for viewing the characters like this, it’s just sometimes when they do this it really irks me because I interpret their relationships and characters differently.

at its core, ace attorney is just a story about phoenix wright being baffled by weird little girls

I had a nice, heartbreaking conversation with @armenelols where we talked about Finarfin right after Finwë died and his brothers, Lalwen and literally 95% of the family decided to go across the ocean for various reasons, including but not limited to starting a fist fight with Morgoth for Revenge™.

Like?? He returns to Tirion and is on good terms with nobody. Those who haven’t left are probably not very happy about him being there, Valinor is currently going into a lockdown so the Valar are not going to help him fix this mess, his mother has left to be with her brother and so has his only remaining sister, his sisters-in-law won't speak with him either, he is lucky when the Vanyar reply to a message once in a blue moon (sike! that one doesn’t even exist yet, everything is just pitch black because the trees are dead) and he doesn’t even expect his wife to return to him given what his family did to her people, who probably never want to see a Noldor ever again.

So it’s all on him essentially.

And what does he have to start with? Properly burying his father, of course, because I don’t think either Fëanor nor Fingolfin had the mind to even do that. Finwë is probably still laid out in the throne room with a white cloth covering his body and nobody really knows what to do with him because they do not know if he is ever going to return. Now, I do not believe Finarfin or anyone really knows the concept of a funeral. That’s something the elves over in Beleriand and the Teleri, who do not talk to him, are currently figuring out.

What does he do? Lay down his father in Lórien next to Miriel, the mother Fëanor yearned for and Finarfin never knew, because that’s the only reasonable thing to do, right? Right? Reunite them in death at the only place he knows is the right one, where Este’s handmaiden are going to take care of, heal and preserve his father’s broken body just like they did with Miriel’s. The one place his brother ever admitted feeling completely at peace at. Over time, it becomes such a place for him too. And as his visits become more frequent, he starts telling his father, who in death looks like he is simply sleeping, about how he slowly starts to mend the broken ties of his people, how there are two new lights in the sky that illuminate the whole world and how Earwen has come to talk to him, how Indis has finally responded to a letter of his and things are going to slowly get better and how he feels like he is getting a hang of being king after so many years of stumbling on a path he was not cut out for.

He comes to his father’s dead body the night before they depart for Beleriand and apologises that he is leaving now too. He speaks one last wish, that his father may be there, awake, alive, when he returns from war because Finarfin does not intend to die too.

fun prompt: apollo playing either breath of the wild or another video game you like, and trucy and ema backseat gaming

Trucy flopped directly onto Apollo's lap, looking up at him in disapproval as he held the joycons away from her prying hands.

"Polllyyyyy," she groaned, "how did you manage to find a boring way to play breath of the wild?"

Apollo frowned at her, shifting himself to better see the screen and avoid her occasional attempts to swat away his controllers. "It's not boring, Trucy, it's how you're supposed to play it!"

She kicked out her feet. "Yeah, which is boring. Where's your sense of exploration? Of adventure!! You're always sticking to the script."

He huffed. "Yeah, well, nothing else in my life ever seems to go on-script, so sometimes it's nice to have something relaxing." When he looked down, she blew a raspberry at him, and it was just as he gave up the game and started to rustle her hair that Ema walked in from the kitchen to observe the commotion.

"Ema, Polly is being boring again!" she pouted. Ema huffed through a mouthful of mac-and-cheese she had undoubtedly stolen from the office fridge.

"Yeah, and? Grass is green, Trucy. Science has proven he's boring."

Apollo turned around to gawk in indignation, giving Trucy the opportunity to snag his joysticks. "HEY!" he shouted, unsure who to address first. "I am not that borin-- Trucy gimme those."

Ema sat on the couch next to them just as Apollo managed to roll Trucy off his lap and onto the floor, wrestling back one joycon in the process. "Lemme guess, you 100%ed the museum in all your animal crossing games," she said. Apollo's hand dropped, letting Trucy snag her lost joycon once again.

"I... we-- that's not relevant."
