GEN V FINALE THOUGHTS…

in no particular order:

THE WAY MARIE DIDNT HESITATE TO EXPLODE THAT ARM TO PROTECT JORDAN.

THE WAY CATE REALLY WENT ABSOLUTELY BATSHIT CRAZY?!

THE WAY ANDRE USED HIS POWERS FOR GOOD EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS IT COULD KILL HIM

Emma has been doing amazing with her resource guarding over the past week or two & I'm so proud of her!! Tonight alone included one time with Phoebe sniffing an empty plate, as soon as I praised Emma for not lunging, her entire face relaxed & she gave me her attention for pets;

and then Phoebe jumped on the chaise where Emma had a snuffle mat with cat kibble - she didn't lunge even over such a big prize, only 2 hard stares & quickly cut off with big big praise from me & Jack. Phoebe left pretty quickly with no interest in working for her own kibble, so Emma relaxed & went back to snuffle! She's come SO far with her snuffle mat confidence!!

So you know what was really messed up?

I mean for one, poor Emma having her heart taken out for like the third time but also… This must have been a horrifying thing for Killian to see.

It happened so quickly and without warning that no one even had time to react, but both David and Killian flinch (even though Killian’s reaction is hard to see because the camera isn’t on him in that moment). But like… they’re just standing there and talking and suddenly out of nowhere this awful untrustwothy horrible dude, that sadistically tortured him not so long ago, just thrusts his hand into Emma’s chest and rips her heart out? I mean… talk about triggers…

And the next second Hades acts like it’s a joke.

From the moment Hades shows up, Killian spends this whole episode staring daggers at him (with a painful hint of fear) and warning everyone not to trust him. And everyone else is so?? chill about it??

Yeah sure “objectively” it makes more sense that Deb never cheated on Alice and that was just Blinky messing with her mind for his enjoyment but do you understand how funny that would be. interesting to compare contrast the bullying in worm to the bullying here in claw... some part of that is taylor's perspective being taylors perspective, concerned with the specific in her face torment of the three and the inaction of the rest of the school, even though there are times of being victimized by ppl outside the trio too which are less focused on by her. Valentina was in a much more popular position before her bullying as well, and is generally more socially connected and worried about big picture reputation than Taylor, who had only a few friends when it began for her. So it makes sense Valentina spends more time on the crowds of independent actors, the way strangers at the school interact with her, and is forced into the harassment spotlight rather than suppressed and ignored.

but also i think wildbow is better at writing teenagers now and it's just a better depiction of bullying full stop.
