wait, last year i made a post about enoch and the robot-detector in loki (2021), assuming it would detect enoch. now that i'm finally watching s6, i know now that enoch isn't sensed by most synth detectors, so he maybe wouldn't be killed immediately by the tva

I’m rewatching Agents of Shield and here is list of things I genuinely forgot happened:
(and little things i enjoy)
season six:
- the shrike and the mercenaries first appeared in a park in indiana
- yo-yo was having a little secret relationship with one of the newer agents
- enoch suggested he and fitz work in the nearby brothel after losing their money
- enoch sent out the equivalent of an air-raid signal but only humans could hear it, so fitz, daisy & simmons were suffering
- agent kahn was pretending to be deke’s bestie
- one of the mercenaries (don’t ask which one i don’t remember their names) ended up in deke’s framework thing with his version of daisy
- s6ep4 ends with snippets of deke’s gf sequoia’s like insta stories
- “im observing from a distance” - little jemma
- in the little book about “fitz and his imaginary friend” daisy was a bunny (think like judy hopps)
- izel got fitz-simmons back to earth
- possessed may shot sarge, and his body completely recovered.
- literally did not remember that izel can like possess people
- also when they were sharing secrets davis said that he stole a space pen bc “he didn’t know that aliens write”
- how the fuck did i forget that davis actually dies???
- izel possessed him and made him fall from a fucking balcony or something
- daisy snapped sarge’s neck with her powers
- sarge calls daisy “skye” to try and get her to kill him
- flint comes back when izel is using mack and yo-yo’s worst fears to bring back the monoliths (<3)
- deke literally admits that he built his company because he felt like an outsider and no one likes him
- “flint?” “deke?” “what are you doing here?!” they’re so freaking cute
- sarge ran may through with the sword and pushed her through the gateway izel opened
- yo-yo swallowed a shrike bat
- “no that was a joke. the framework is silly and radcliffe definitely had a drinking problem” - fitz
- why the fuck does no one question that simmons just suddenly doesn’t have bangs anymore??? like no one even says anything about it??? i don’t think i even realized the first time i watched this
- daisy and mack realized they went back in time when the empire state building was the only building above the clouds
- coulson was brought back to figure out what the chronicoms would do
- i didn’t forget that daisy doesn’t even hesitate to press the button to start up LMD coulson, but i needed to mention it bc it’s so fucking sweet

And We’re Lost
@oflcgicalsway
Jemma gasps as she awakens from the mind prison. What on earth is going on? She looks around to find Enoch standing there, the other Chronicoms deactivated at his feet.
"Enoch." Fitz sits up from where he's laying next to her, looking around the room in shock.
"I have taken bold action. We must go." Enoch's matter of fact words barely register for the two as they finally embrace. After all this time, they're finally together. They traveled the stars to find each other, and now they'll never let go. Unstoppable together.
Enoch sets the Chronicom transporter device down on the floor and activates it. They need to go, before reinforcements arrive. He holds out his arms for the other two. "Embrace me."
They join him in the circle on the floor, holding onto him tightly as the device begins to send them somewhere else, anywhere else.
Jemma looks up at Fitz and smiles, her eyes lighting up for a moment. "Oh, I almost forgot. You're a grandfather."
Fitz' eyebrows scrunch in confusion and concern, looking between Enoch and Jemma for some sort of explanation. "What the bloody hell does that-" His question is cut off by the transporter finally sending them off to where it's programmed. When they rematerialize, none of them recognize their location. It almost looks like a ship of some kind. “-mean?!”
"Very Star Trek," Jemma muses as she lets go of the boys and moves along the hallway.
Fitz gives Enoch a look that would have him six feet under and buried. "Enoch, where the bloody hell did you send us?"
Enoch looks around the room. In all his years, he hasn't seen anything quite like where they are currently. "Apologies. It was my first attempt at using an Interplanetary Conveyance Disc. In theory, it should have returned us to its last location. Instead, it has sent us here. Wherever here is." He reaches out to feel for the computer in the walls, small little tendrils coming out of his fingers to find an access port in the hopes of gaining information.
Fitz throws his hands up in the air, and runs his hands through his hair. "Great. Thank you, Enoch. Now we're on the run from the Chronicoms, and we're lost! You are the absolute worst!" He grabs Enoch and pushes him a little, frustrated and angry beyond belief at the moment.
"We'll figure it out. We always do.” Jemma sighs and shakes her head. “Look on the bright side, I don't think this is a Confederacy ship."
She hears footsteps coming down the hallway and she grabs onto Fitz' hand. They don't have any weapons. There's nowhere to run. All she can do is hope that the people they've found are friendly and not trigger happy with strangers.

could be just me being aromantic again but I hate how fitz and jemma putting each other over the entire world is romantic and healthy. An obvious co-depenacy, plus, it's just... it's like they get to love each other so that makes it ok to be not only a shitty friend, but a shitty person. I'm not saying "he should have let Jemma die" but he can't apply that logic of "I love my friends and people around me so I did that" when it comes to what he did to daisy. Even in the framework, jemma does really dumb stuff for lOvE and THEN EXCUSES FITZ FOR HURTING DAISY LIKE THAT IN SEASON 5. it's so annoying. she just became "I love fitz" and like, nothing else after season 2 or early 3 ish. It's so painfully obvious that they put themselves above others. I know they "keep getting ripped apart" but that doesn't excuse shitty actions. they can be as annoying and sickeningly in love as they like and not hurt their friends, but after what happened in season 5, I'm just so tired of it. this wouldn't be acceptable if it was platonic so why does this romance get a pass?
Exactlyyyyy!
Listen, I am a sucker for the “in order to save the person I love (or the world), I endanger myself” trope, because the idea of not being able to handle the person you care about hurting, and wanting them to live on, or be safe, or the idea of wanting to save people, at the expense of yourself is, while absolutely heartbreaking, actually something decent??? And heroic? I mean it’s bad in the sense of “why do you have so little self worth?????“ but at the same time, it’s understanding that sometimes there’s something bigger than you, and you could help many people. It’s not always about not having self worth either. You can have a lot of self worth but still recognize that a movement, or a decision can be much bigger than yourself and could lead to a better life for many, even if it’s at your expense, which is just unfortunate and horrifying. This trope has so much room for angst and pain and love, and I’m obsessed with it.
But that’s the key part. It being at YOUR expense.
With fitzsimmons, it’s no longer about that. It’s suddenly, “actually I’m willing to risk EVERYONE ELSE” to have you. To save you.
THAT is what infuriates me and makes me seriously roll my eyes when they go through terrible things in the later seasons and I’m expected to…be upset? Sympathize?
Like…sorry but a guy willing to risk his entire team, and THE WHOLE WORLD, and a woman who’s entire character ends up revolving around this guy, who also ends up wiling to risk other people for their “happily ever after” or whatever, they’re just…not good people.
The amount of times it’s happened too…
Like starting in s3, every season one of them makes the a decision like that. In the later seasons, they both mage those decisions during separate occasions in the season.
I’m still not over s7 where half the team were literally murdered by Enoch, because he was programmed BY fitz and simmons to kill. Like if it hadn’t been for the time loop, their team could’ve been literally dead. And for what? To protect their daughter?
It makes no sense and I’ve spoken about it before. If the team had died, their daughter still wouldn’t have been safe because the chronicoms would’ve won and either destroyed earth, or changed the past so that she wouldn’t have existed in the first place. Like??? They were SO stupid in s7.
Don’t get me started on Fitz deciding that abandoning 7.9 billion people to the chronicom problem (that would’ve led them all to die or be enslaved) after HE organized for that issue to be brought to their doorstep, was a good idea. And then when the rest of the team are like??? We’re not going to abandon them to die?? He’s like “that decreases our chances of succeeding to 85%”
THOSE ARE HUMAN LIVES YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.
And Jemma in s6?
Daisy, Piper and Davis: “we’ve been in outer space for a year with hardly any leads. Davis has a baby son he never got to know, we should head back because we’re running low on resources, and if we stay here for much longer, we might not be able to get back”
Jemma: “well, even though Daisy is the leader of the mission and should be the one making the shots, and even though all of you have sacrificed a lot this past year to help ME, I’m going to spit on all of that and force you to accompany me further, despite our dwindling resources and all the risks, because I have a feeling I might find fitz, even though our journey has been useless so far.”
And it’s not until she’s drunk that she offers a ridiculously awful apology that Daisy accepts immediately.
She does the same in the framework. They all almost didn’t make it back to the real world, and almost DIED for good, because she once again, went against Daisy’s orders (it’s a pattern at this point, we should make a gif set. S4 vs s5 vs s6, simmons having zero respect for Daisy’s authority) for fitz.
It’s just frustrating.
To be fair though, while not the same, both Daisy and May did a similar thing at the end of s5 (which made me soo mad) but the difference I guess is that they did firmly believe Coulson would’ve been able to get to Talbot, and Robin, a girl who sees the future, implied Coulson was crucial to the whole “preventing the end of the world” thing. Still annoyed me.
Sorry for taking so long to reply anon. I hope you don’t mind me ranting lol. Thank you for sending in this ask!

In all the talk of returns and reboots...
Tumblr media
Just wanted to dust off the old meta skills and dive into the talk of seeing some of the AOS Characters possibly returning to one of the many upcoming MCU projects.
@eclecticmuses let me know that there was a little hub bub on the Twitters about Iain’s response when asked if he would reprise his role, and he said likely no.
This is absolutely no surprise, Iain indicated awhile ago he was happy with how Fitz’s arc had all played out.  And as seen in the quote above and from other interviews we know he and Elizabeth loved their hard fought for Happily Ever After.  I’ve watched a lot of TV and that kind of perfect ending is so rare...and it still came with a price.  They lost Enoch and Deke (though I die on the hill Deke finds his way home).
How many times have i said over the years that we and Fitzsimons have to “Pay” for those big moments with some sort of terrible awful thing and/or separation:
You’re more than that - Fitz TBI and a freaking whole season of miserable angst that was saved by a hand hold, sandwich, and Maybe There Is.
Date - Jemma eaten by Harold the Evil Space Rock
First Kiss - In the aftermath and angst of Space Rando (forever salty)
Got Together - Fandom lived multiple episodes in terror one of them would be the fallen agent
Happy Couple - Hidden Secrets, trip to the hell dimension, LMD’s and freaking Self Control
Teasing FItz’s Backstory Finally - We got Alistair (would have paid good money for Dadcliffe)
Fitz is thinking of Marriage - Hello Framework Hades
Fitz is rescued - There is only room in my heart for her, pod hugs, then Harold the Evil Space Rock Part 2, Back to the Future!
First Proposal - Jemma Doesn’t Hear
Actually Engaged - Nearly separated again
Married - Guestures at 5.14 - 5.22
Trying to find each other - Half oa season of near misses
Home again - Chronicoms are a coming and basically everyone died.
And this brings me back to what was a sore spot in Season 7 for some.  In the whole lack of Fitz. As much as I missed having Fitz and Iain for time travel fun times and would have loved some Fitzsimmons family bonding, I know how much there would have been a price to pay should he been there.
Something absolutely awful would have happened in order to get us to the Alya (to this day love that that theory hit) and Perthshire reveal.  Jemma could have lost her memories for who knows how long,  Fitz could have been kidnapped and trapped in the mind prison again, Nathaniel could have used them against each other. Like I really don’t want to think what the writers could have gotten up too.
Iain noted that in his interview too.  He and Elizabeth rooted for FItzsimmons too, they didn’t like many of the same plot twists we didn’t.  Elizabeth was not a fan of Space Rando and Iain didn’t like playing the Doctor are two notable ones.
Coming back to them now, there would have to be something terrible to get them out of their life in Perthshire and away from Alya.  And I honestly agree I don’t think we’d get lucky again.  We ALMOST didn’t get what we had.  It all nearly ended with Maurader Fitz dead and us just knowing Jemma was going to find him.  No Season 6, no besties Enoch/Fitz, No Inescapable, no we had time, and not awesome Season 7.
Yes, there are many other timelines and arcs they could pull characters from.  I’ve addressed that if we see Daisy/Quake or any of the AOS team again it will be a rebooted version of the character.  One with a backstory that fits the show/story they are in.
That is the beauty of how AOS spun themselves off from the MCU, it allows for this and protects our HEA and the characters we know an love.  This opens the door should someone want to reprise a role in a new way but also for a recasting should they not.  My two cents is if they need a science duo for whatever is coming up new characters are more likely as to not step on the iconic path that Fitzsimmons already walked.  If they REALLY want some sort of FItzsimmons connection....we’ve got Deke just chilling out there in the blown up timeline that is an option.
Fully realize this could fall into an unpopular opinion for some but I hope it helps others feel better.  I love that Iain and Elizabeth have that loyalty to each other, their characters, and their fans.  I’m ready to defend that HEA with as much verocity as I did my Die on the Hill theories and ask box explosions.
Also felt really good to meta again.

"This is the nature of family, isn't it? ... People arrive, so we celebrate, and people leave us, so we grieve. We do what we can with the time in between, but the cycle is always there. No one escapes it. Not even me."
~ Enoch Coltrane ~ As I Have Always Been ~ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D 7x09
This is the most poetic shit I've ever heard. I'm gonna cry again.
