I think that "Armand as a character is an exercise in still caring and having empathy for people who aren't made kinder/wiser/gentler etc by the trauma and abuse they experience and if you have to pretend he didn't do the awful things he's done in order to still care about him you're missing the point" and "wanting to defend him because large chunks of the fan base are overly willing to wildly exaggerate his worst qualities (or invent entirely new bad qualities that aren't even a thing in canon!) in order to downplay Lestat's equally egregious crimes and make him look more heroic and romantic by comparison, in a way that is often subtly or overtly racist" are perspectives that can and should coexist

i'm cryingggggggg quackity dresses up as fred and immediately gets the frubbo curse of everything turning into a sitcom. he was so anxious the entire time. he realized very early on that oh right, the workers communicate through writing which he cannot do and spent the day nodding and shaking his head and doing jumping jacks. other workers kept fucking asking him about his/fred's feelings for tubbo and being so hilariously sweet about it. then he got hit with the shaking bug and the other workers noticed and even assumed it was about tubbo???? "el amor es amor"????? and even fuckin cucurucho asked him if he was okay??????? he saw the others failing miserably at spying and could only scream internally. when he ran into pac, pac of course assumed that quackity must have been fred the entire time and then asked if tubbo is a good kisser. i'm going to explode. this is so embarrassing for him

SCARBOROUGH, Maine (AP) — The acting head of the Social Security Administration on Friday rescinded and apologized for an order that would have required Maine parents to register their newborns for Social Security numbers at a federal office rather than the hospital.

The order drew widespread condemnation from medical organizations and public officials who described it as unnecessary and punitive. The practice of allowing parents to register a newborn for a Social Security number at a hospital or other birthing site, called the Enumeration at Birth program, has been common for decades.

Acting Commissioner Leland Dudek said he recently directed Social Security employees to end an Enumeration at Birth contract for Maine. He said he will “admit my mistakes and make them right” by reinstating the contract.

“In retrospect, I realize that ending these contracts created an undue burden on the people of Maine, which was not the intent,” Dudek said in a statement.

On March 20, Popular Information revealed that the Social Security Administration (SSA) secretly implemented a policy shift that could impose massive demands on the agency's already overburdened network of field offices. Each year, the SSA automatically issues millions of Social Security numbers and cards to non-citizens granted work authorizations as part of an agreement between the SSA and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The agreement, known as Enumeration Beyond Entry (EBE), benefits both the work-authorized non-citizens, who receive their cards in the mail as part of the application process, and the government, which does not need to spend time and money processing separate applications for millions of Social Security numbers. In the 2024 fiscal year, there were over 3.24 million initial Employment Authorization Documents approved by USCIS. EBE was created in 2017 by the Trump administration. In the absence of the EBE program, everyone granted work authorization will be required to visit a Social Security field office to obtain a new Social Security number and card. Popular Information obtained a March 19 memorandum that the EBE program for "noncitizens granted work authorization" and "newly naturalized U.S. citizens" has been "temporarily" frozen. According to SSA sources, the freeze is still in effect. Now, the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, Congressman Gerald E. Connolly (D-VA), has written a letter to the SSA demanding that it reverse the policy. Connolly’s letter, which was sent to Acting SSA Commissioner Leland Dudek on Tuesday, says freezing the EBE program "increases costs and decreases efficiency and potentially violates multiple federal laws."

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), who is the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, wrote a letter demanding the Social Security Administration to reverse their ending of the Enumeration Beyond Entry that was created under the 1st Trump term in 2017.
