Mike Kuster “Back To Feagaville”

Mike Kuster is releasing “Back To Feagaville”, his third single from his sophomore album, Country So Fresh You Have To Check Your Boots, to radio. It follows the successful single, “Front Porch Swing” which spent several weeks at Number 1 in Europe and continues climbing the charts of independent radio. Mike grew up on a small farm in Frederick County, Maryland. This new single celebrates the magic of the closest little village to his family’s farm, Feagaville. “When you grow up in a place so rural, a place like Feagaville is the center of your world. From the pronunciation of the word to the amenities afforded to the community along Ballenger Creek, everything about it is unique and special to those of us who grew up there. Happiness for me was riding from our farm to Feagaville to get a soda, a candy bar, and seeing friends at church and 4-H meetings. It was freedom, independence, and joy in a little trip to that little town” Mike explained. “Back To Feagaville” features Mike’s vocals backed by a talented crew of studio musicians assembled by Kuster and producer, Daniel “Dr.” Ford. Grammy and IBMA Award winning fiddler, Michael Cleveland plays fiddle. Chris Condon, known for his work as Billy Ray Cyrus’ guitarist and music director, laid down guitar tracks with Mike. Caleb Mundy, a Music Row staple, plays bass. Dr. Ford plays drums and keyboards, and provides back-up vocals. Mike Kuster has released two full studio albums and one EP since 2002. Mike wrote all the songs on these albums. His first album, Better Late Than Never, received critical acclaim and was listed by several critics as an essential album of 2002. His single, “Daddy’s Blue Jean Jacket”, from that album was named Independent Music Network’s (IMN) County Song of the Year for 2021. Mike was named IMN’s Country Impact Artist of the Year for 2022. Mike’s EP, Mountain Monsters of Maryland, celebrates the legends and myths of Frederick County as it celebrates its 275th Jubilee in 2023. It was released for the Jubilee and Halloween to a lot of acclaim and received lots of attention as a Halloween Country Album. Mike Kuster and his live band, The Catoctin Cowboys, tour the Mid-Atlantic region with their “Honky Tonkin’ Good Time Show”. They have played venues as small as backyard parties to shows with over 2,000 in the audience. Each show includes a mix of Mike’s original songs and some of the best traditional Country classics. Mike continues to live in a small town in Frederick County, namely Walkersville. He and his wife, who met in high school, recently celebrated twenty-five years of marriage. Dovevo comunicare con un ufficio in Australia questa mattina, e questa mattina perché per via della differenza del fuso orario l'ufficio avrebbe chiuso alle 08:00 ora italiana, quindi dovevo premunirsi e mi sono alzata molto presto, e mi sono accorta che non avevo soldi sul mio conto Skype, che uso per chiamare il numero (perché bisognava chiamare un numero di telefono) per cui è iniziata tutta la trafila per mettere il credito su Skype, e naturalmente ogni volta che aprite una app che non aprite da qualche da qualche mese la prima cosa che vi chiede è di aggiornarla. E poi, vabbè, adesso non vi sto a raccontare tutta la catena, ma ogni passo che facevo ce n'erano altri tre che dovevo intraprendere per poter fare quell'uno passo, e ognuno di questi tre passi aveva a sua volta altri tre passi che dovevo intraprendere per poter procedere. Insomma una specie di catena di Sant'Antonio triplicata (che poi perché si chiama catena di Sant'Antonio? Non lo so indagherò). Comunque la tecnologia sono riuscita a domarla, i poltergeist sono rientrati da dove sono venuti e io ne sono uscita vincitrice. Almeno spero. Well, more than technological things I'm talking about computer programs and app systems that don't work. I had to communicate with an office in Australia this morning, and this morning because of the time difference, the office was going to close at 8:00 a.m. Italian time, so I had to be prepared, I got up very early, and I realised that I had no money in my Skype account, which I use to call the number (because you had to call a phone number) so the whole rigmarole of putting credit on Skype started, and of course every time you open an app that you haven't opened in a few months the first thing it asks you is to update it. And then, whatever, now I'm not going to tell you the whole chain, but every step I was taking there were three other steps that I had to take in order to take that one step, and each of those three steps had in turn three other steps that I had to take in order to proceed. In short, a kind of triplicate chain letter (which then why is it called a chain letter ? I don't know I will investigate). However, the technology I managed to tame it, the poltergeists went back where they came from and I came out on top. At least I hope so.

ELEKTROMYOGRAFIE

Die Elektromyografie (EMG) ist eine biomechanische Methode zur Messung und Beurteilung der Muskelaktivität. Die Muskelfaser - Aktionsströme werden ermittelt und in Form eines Elektromyogramm graphisch dargestellt. Im neurologischen Diagnostik- Kontext wird diese Untersuchung primär durchgeführt, um festzustellen, ob eine muskuläre (Myopathie) oder nervliche (Neuropathie) Krankheit vorliegt.

In der Sprachproduktionsforschung wird mit Hilfe des EMG-Verfahrens ermittelt, welche Muskeln in welcher Intensität und Zeitabfolge mitwirken während des Artikulationsprozesses (u.a. Lippen-, Zungen- und Gaumenmuskulatur).

Elektrische Muskelaktivität

Um einen Muskel zu bewegen, leitet das Gehirn einen elektrischen Impuls über einen Nerv bis zur neuromuskulären Platte, der Schnittstelle zwischen einer Muskelzelle und einem motorischen Nerv. Dieser Impuls löst die Ausschüttung von Botenstoffen aus, die dafür sorgen, dass Ionenkanäle in der Muskelfasermembran geöffnet werden und es entsteht dort ein Ionenfluss. Dieser führt wiederum zu einer elektrischen Spannung, auch Muskelaktionspotential genannt, die sich über die gesamte Muskelzelle ausbreitet und Muskelzuckungen auslöst. Beim EMG werden diese Potentiale erfasst und ausgewertet.

Es gibt zwei unterschiedliche Verfahrensarten, um die Messung durchzuführen: Nadel- und Oberflächen-EMG.

Nadel - EMG

Hierbei wird eine feine, konzentrische Nadelelektrode durch die Haut in den Muskel gestochen. Die elektrische Muskelaktivität wird im Ruhezustand sowie in Bewegung gemessen (auch Muskelaktionspotential genannt), sodass aus den Ergebnissen Rückschlüsse über den Zustand des Muskels gezogen werden können. Je nach bestimmten Nadeltypen können auch besonders kleine oder tiefer liegende Muskelfasern akkurat gemessen werden. 

Oberflächen - EMG 

Hier werden Oberflächenelektroden auf die Haut geklebt, die die elektrische Muskelaktivität (Muskelsummenpotential) ableiten. Man kann vorteilhafterweise bei diesem nicht-invasiven Verfahren größere Muskelbereiche untersuchen und hat währenddessen mehr Bewegungsspielraum. Allerdings sind Messergebnisse längst nicht präzise, zumal hier nicht die Aktivität einer einzelnen Muskelfaser festgestellt werden kann. Daher wird dies bei diagnostischen Untersuchungen zur Feststellung von Krankheiten nicht angewendet. 

In der Sprachforschung wird EMG benutzt, um der Kontraktion zu untersuchen: Hiermit kann man herausfinden wann die Kontraktion startet und stoppt, wie stark sie ist und wie lange es dauert.
