Ephiel’s history is complex. He was kept captive for most of his life—collared by a spirit who acted like a father to him. During this, sometimes he would fall blind.

This both terrified and freed him. Without his sight, he was more vulnerable, but he could also escape inwards. Not think about his situation for a bit. He could drift through the Library of Records he guarded, feeling the peace there as he escaped from his tumultuous life. ❤️‍🩹

About the characters:

Ephiel is a fallen angel. They started a war against god and were exiled from heaven into a universe of nothingness, a void, for treason. Their halo is tainted black and broken.

Constance is a ordinary, 16 year old girl that is an atheist but is forced to act religious because her country forces people to believe in god. Every time she goes to sleep, she can visit Ephiel's void in her dreams.

Positive: Good natured, Polite, inquisitive, Studious, Helpful

Negative: Naive, Vain, Easily Distracted, Sheltered upbringing, Timid.

She was magically implanted in her mother with the purpose of being tailored to become the host body of one of the Gerudo witches, Kotake and Koume. However the plan went awry and Illendra was taken off to learn magic from the order from which she now hails, the Yshari, a group of magic users who  are on a quest for the "perfect" magic in its purest form. They feel that the other disciplines of magic are haphazard, and have instead chosen to focus primarily upon elemental magic. They mold the base elements into whatever magical forms they need - threatening all other magic disciplines with obsolescence. In order to achieve perfection in these elemental transmutations in the ever changing weave of magic that permeates the world. 

She’s incredibly powerful and would have been quite dangerous if she were to be controlled by one of the witches, but she has a strong moral compass and is eagerly trying her best to fight off the darkness of the world. 

Currently only 19. Softer than most. Still has naïve eyes yet to be hardened by the world. Still a bit green and focuses a little more than she should on appearance she is still in the mindset of adventuring for glory and fun, you know? The harshness of the life hasn’t hit her fully. While she has grown a lot since starting on her adventures there are times she gets overwhelmed and her magic grows in danger of running wild.

Can’t fault her for wanting to help and she powerful enough to make a significant difference. Kind, athletic, affable and well mannered, hardly seems like scholarly bibliophiles hidden away from civilization that one often associates with magic users.

-i’m always the smol spoon during cuddle sessions, so I/dunn tends to hold me close! then i find myself burying my head in the crook of her neck o////x////o;;;

☕: How do you comfort each other on a bad day?

-there’s a beach near the castle, so we comfort each other by going there and watching the waves go by, all the while giving sweet kisses [ sometimes F/ae sneaks along djlksjdlsas ]

💐: How did you two meet?

-when she was brought into askr, thankfully, no orbs were harmed [ye nabbed her on my free summon xD] ! initially, she followed z/ephiel around as usual, but one day she became curious of me and my duties as the summoner, so she started following me around instead. i never really asked her about it, though i did get some concerned looks from the other Heroes, ahaha...

Inktober 16 • “Martyr” “Blade” “Angel” and “Tears”

Sariel and Ephiel have been through it. After being raised by the same “Father” and captor, they consider themselves to be like twin brothers, despite no actual relation. Because of this, Ephiel will protect Sariel at all costs—taking whatever injuries he must to keep Sariel safe.

And the amount of wounds they faced in their lives was intense, especially for Ephiel. Both their wings had been torn, cut, and burned off…and eventually Ephiel’s just stopped growing back, leaving him a wingless angel.

Ephiel’s character sheet! He’s such a pretty little spirit ✨

Unlike the others in the angel quad, Ephiel isn’t technically an angel. He’s a very ancient spirit created by the Universe itself (not sired by another spirit), and was entrusted as the main guardian of the Tree of Life and Records—a spiritual dimension that holds all memories and potential memories of all beings. He’s an important baby! Also he glows when he’s connected to the Tree ✨

Ephiel is particularly close with Sariel, who he was raised alongside (by their shared ab*ser). Because they went through such intensely difficult experiences together, Ephiel is extremely protective over Sariel and would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat.

They also have a very complicated relationship (as they remind each other of painful things), but also have an unshakable almost twin-like bond that leads them to heal as best friends and, eventually, lovers.

One of Ephiel’s (many) human reincarnations is Gabriel! Ephiel is a very gentle passive spirit, but Gabriel is very aggressive—and is very much Ephiel’s journey to learning to feel anger. There’s also another incarnation who knew Miguel, but I haven’t drawn or designed him yet!

I really need to draw these two new OCs of mine (twin reincarnations of Sariel and Ephiel). They're so complicated because one of them is blind and really dependent on his brother, so it's difficult and painful and loving and ahhh...I love messy dynamics

Ephiel has been lost, farther out of reach than Sariel. Ephiel was just gone. Unreachable. Kokabiel searched and searched, despairing when he couldn’t find their group’s youngest angel. Ephiel was innocent, and they all knew he was facing horrors. But one day, he fell into the ether—and Kokabiel caught him. Chamuel healed him. Sariel, once also free, protected him. No one was going to let him go this time.

(Ephiel is wingless because of what he went through, but he can fly in Kokabiel’s arms if he ever needs :3)
