Controversial yet eccentric actress Erika Sawajiri for the infamous press conference of the movie Closed Note in 2007 where the highlight of the event was when an interviewer asked her a question and she retaliated by saying "Betsuni (not really)" and later on when another interviewer asked her what her favorite scene was in the film, she replied by saying "toku nai desu (I don't have one)" this scandal rose an uproar all over the nation, many when participating in street interview called her unprofessional and rude.

Later on "betsuni" slowly became a super famous meme and in 2011 she starred in snickers advert where she recreated her infamous "betsuni" line.

this post is just some info on yesterday's DA:TV Fandom party at SDCC. :>

What was this party? [Here] is a post with the pre-event information that was made available. [Here] is a pre-event article that contains an interview with the organizer. And [this article] on the event contains some additional information, like on the versions of this party held in previous years, which helps for context. There was no new DA:TV information of note from the party

As was previously reported the other week, Jason Derulo headlined the party (like as in a gig). Here's an image of him there [source] (the him singing DA stuff part was a joke tho btw hh). They considered having an orchestra because of DA's musical score but they got Jason Derulo

One of the party props was a big background of the DA:TV key art [source]. Here you can see the DA:TV logo on another backdrop. [source] This tweet contains both of these backdrops from a different angle

There was also an archway prop based on this DA:TV key art, and big screens which projected images from the game (including of Varric and this screenshot) [source]. It looks like these images were also projected to television screens? [source]

There was a VIP section at the party [source]. Gary McKay, the General Manager of BioWare, was there [source], as were John Epler and Zach Mendez (Lucanis) [source], Ali Hillis (Harding) [source], Nick Boraine (Emmrich) [source], Kari a BioWare Brand Director [source], Jessica Clark (Neve) [source] and Corinne Busche [source]. Erika Ishii (Rook) also visited but got kicked out of VIP hh [source]. Some cosplayers from the DA community were also personally invited by BioWare & PR at EA Games and attended! like Ladytoxie as Bellara ^^ [source, two], and some celebrities also, such as Doug Jones [source]

Ladytoxie mentioned that they will be posting a Vlog of their experience and coverage of the event, "probably next week" [source], having documented it at the time [source] (tysm!!)

Ladytoxie reported that it was a good, memorable experience and that everyone was lovely [source]

There was supposed to be some DA:TV-related pins and lanyards being handed out at the party, but these got stuck at customs, so there wasn't any goodies being handed out [source]

becca's (@yenvengerberg) gifs always leave me speechless but this yen and tissaia set just has a special place in my heart..the quote, the colors, the blending, the transitions are all just perfection and capture the relationship so well 🥹

this alicent set by @saws2004 lives in my mind rent free. i absolutely ADORE the way the quote flows through the layout, so well done. the blending and the use of b&w is just superb. honestly one of my fav sets ever i could just stare at it all day

i LOVE the typography in this anidala set by @cal-kestis...nik is just a photoshop wizard and her creativity always blows me away. the blue and orange go so well together and nik's ability to combine multiple fonts is perfection.

this yennefer set by @ughmerlin is so so pretty!! the colors are so soft and the song matches yennefer perfectly. i also love the transition from b&w to color chefs kiss. & the font choice is just lovely.

umm hello??? this shang chi set by @simoneashley is gorgeous. the amount of time this must have taken was so worth it bc the colors are so so vibrant. i always love a good rainbow set esp when the coloring is this amazing!!

this house of the dragon set by @lady-arryn is so beautiful. the coloring and sharpening is just so soft and ethereal. and this particular blue/orange combo is wonderful. i am particularly obsessed with the blending of second gif..its just SO pretty.

my beloved triss!! this triss merigold set by @genyazafin is amazing i love it sm. i love the blue and orange and the way the coloring captures the darkness of the show. also the blending of the last gif is just so satisfying

Serene Crystal update:

A bit late on this front but I did beat the League yesterday and headed into Kanto and I'm almost halfway through.

This is the team that got me through! I lost once but managed to beat it on a second run. (Reeses Puff's name got cut off because I was trying to quickly take these screens, there's no full team layout image in this game when you make it to the Hall of Fame)

This isn't the first time I've only had five Pokemon in my final team tho. I did try it in Brilliant Diamond since I was saving a slot for a shiny if I run into one but didn't get one.

Anyways I do have a sixth team member so I can have a full party when I go fight Red.

This is Vanilla, he's a Floatzel rn but it was nice to finally get the last team member I needed.

Uh next on the docket is beat Erika and Koga I think. And then later I got that long long stretch of trainers to go through from Fuchsia to Lavender so I can get these guys all trained up.

my conspiracy theory is that happiness charge precure was deliberately trying to recapture some of the heartcatch vibes because the superficial similarities between the two are insane

in no particular order:

 team layouts are the same (pink, blue, yellow, purple)

to add to that, their order of joining is the same as heartcatch (pink-blue duo at beginning, yellow is added later, and finally purple joins)

on the subject of the purple both moonlight and fortune were active as cures prior to the beginning of the series

hime and erika are both very outspoken blues, something that rarely happens for that color

yuuko and itsuki’s designs look really similar tbh hair color and style wise

the school uniform designs look somewhat similar (especially the color scheme)

the third cour powerup item is a toy vanity with a mirror

innocent form looks very, very, similar to super silhouette 

the premise of both series is more serious than the usual precure series

fashion is an important part of both series

both seasons have mini monsters (snackeys and choiarks). i think hacha was the first time since heartcatch that this concept was used, if i’m remembering correctly

space plays an important role in both finales

the cures choose their cure names (if i’m remembering correctly)

the sister of the purple cure is/becomes an evil pretty cure - the purple cure also has family member angst

the midseason cure has a tambourine as her weapon

and finally, the most important point:

both series have the same initials
