TDP Book 6 speculation

So one of themes of The Dragon Prince can be said to be a show about cicles and choosing to continue or forging your own path.

In the last two seasons we can see the paralels between the characters of Callum and Viren with them showing some of the same atributes.

With Erzan in the role king, and prefering to avoid killing Aaravos, do you think we will see a new version of this

but with Callum and Erzan instead?

SPOILER FOR DRAGON PRINCE SEASON 5

HOLYYYYY FUCK I ALMOST GOT A HEART ATTACK WHEN AARAVROS TOLD VIREN TO SACRIFICE HIS OTHER CHILD BECAUSE MY NEXT IMMEDIATE THOUGHT WAS THAT CALLUM WAS HIS SON OR SMTH AND I ALMOST DIEDDDD. Can't blame me for thinking that tbf because Callum does have an interest in the arcane and magic like viren and does use dark magic if he finds ir necessary to save his family ( erzan or rayla). I WAS SO RELIEVED WHEN HE (AARAVOS) SAID OUR CHILD AND I WENT OOHHHH THE CREEPY BLOOD CHILD

Finally I watched the Dragon Prince season 4. I’m.... quite disappointed. I have the perception that they gave us almost nothing in 9 episodes. 

What do we know about “new” lore? that aaravos was such a powerful mage that even all the arch-dragons together had no chance against him? We already knew or at least, inferred it with the previous 3 seasons.  It was supposed to be that “all the arch-dragons know a small clue to the place where aaravos is imprisoned”.... but it ended up that just one dragon had ALL the information. In a fucking tooth. Like, seriously... Zubeia could just have said “yeah, the earth dragon has the map”, and it would have been more honest. What was presented as a journey, visiting each dragon across Xadia, was just a meh, copy-paste the tooth. 

What more? A mere slight shallow cameo of an earthblood elf village... where we only saw the “introduction” of characters... like, a whole fucking season to not give us more than 2 “kind of outcast” earthblood elves, while we know nothing about their culture. Moonshadow elves had been developed a lot in the last season... what happened here?

We saw a bit about the ruthlessness of the sun elves, sure. But nothing too new because most of the cultural aspect they showed, we already knew it. The funerary rite was new, if I dont recall wrongly.    Each season in the previous ones built a lot more of lore. Here, we don’t even have too much of char development.  I mean, sure, there is a bit... there is a small bit that tells us “the villains are just people loving too much using the worst means”, but that’s all... 9 episodes for just that...  I don’t know, I hate to be that kind of person who only see negative stuff, but... I was expecting lore, some more pushing into the mysteries we knew already, some hints....  and this is called “the mystery of Aaravos”? there is nothing about him. We know he is free enough to break the fancy mirror and possess Callum.  The season felt to me so “filling”. I don’t know what happened, honestly. Pretty sad about it...  ah, sure, the gollum.... which seems to be Aaravos’ body, while his spirit is trapped in that place reflected in the mirror.  That’s all the lore...  

In the whole season I liked the scene with Erzan talking about cycles of love, pain and loss with zubeia in front of him... but... that’s the most significant thing for me. Which is nothing related to lore, lol.  Anyways...

Dragon Prince Theory

From watching the latest trailer I noticed a lot of things, and if anyone mentioned anything similar in previous posts I just want you to know I came up with this on the spot. I haven’t looked at any other theories so if my theory is the same as someone elses it's just a coincidence. 

Viren seems like he is one of the reasons why this whole war is happening in Xadia. From my guess, it seems he is an advisor for King Harrow. The reason I say this is because in this photo Viren is literally on King Harrow’s side like how an advisor is to a King. In most shows, the advisors are often shady or sneaky and have their own agenda against the King or Queen. We know that he sends Claudia and Soren to look for Callum, Rayla and Erzan for the Dragon Prince (the egg) He talks about how the moon elves are dangerous elite fighters like if its continuous propaganda to get the King to believe they are evil. From Aaron, we know that King Harrow has made some mistakes that he regrets and I think it has something to do with Viren being the cause of it.

I don’t think King Harrow knows that Viren sent Claudia and Soren after his sons and Rayla.

I think it is Viren who probably persuaded King Harrow to keep the egg hidden away from the moon elves. From the trailer, it seems like the moon elves follow the Dragon King and because of his demise (as according to what Rayla said), the war in Xadia started. The Dragon King, Prince and Moon elves have more power than Viren’s dark magic and maybe he saw that as a threat? 

I can’t see King Harrow wanting to keep the Dragon Prince away for evil intentions. Maybe something happened to a royal family member by the moon elves due to the war, and Viren uses that as a way to show the Moon elves are evil? Or maybe Viren stole the Dragon Prince somehow and kept it looked in his lair so King Harrow wouldn’t give it back to where it’s supposed to be?

I don’t know Viren’s agenda but I guess he probably wants to gain more power from the moon elves so he can do more dark magic or something. I heard that it was said by the writers that dark magic is a big thing in the show, and in order to use it the power must come from another source or something. 

This looks like someone is being resurrected or sacrificed and Viren is in the centre of it. This must link to his overall plan.

 This shot also could be a link to Viren’s character. I think he wants to overthrow King Harrow off the throne. I don’t know why but I have a hunch this could happen. This whole shot just looks dark and calculated like Viren.

Also besides Viren another thing that gets me thinking is Callum. Why was he adopted by King Harrow? Was Callum’s parents family friends of the King? Did they die at war and King Harrow decided to adopt him out of guilt? Was Callum just a young orphan who the King found and had a soft spot for? I wonder how Viren views the whole step prince situation?

Anyways these are just my quick thoughts and theories on the Dragon Prince before it airs tomorrow.

Ok commentary time 

Many of the shows and movies I’ve watched don’t give boys, or men for that matter, the room to grieve a loss. I have so much respect for Dragon Prince for tackling it head on. Grieving is not pretty. It’s messy and complicated, especially if the relationship between you and the deceased wasn’t an easy one. Having Callum go through this arc, showing him cry during the tough moments, exploring his hesitation over reading Harrow’s letter, having to be the one to eventually break it to Erzan (I’m only on episode 7 right now so I’m guessing he will do it before the season’s over) is something that I think would be beneficial if there happened to be kids going through a similar situation who are watching this show. They can see that it’s ok to express your feelings, to go to your loved ones for support, and be able to say without shame or embarrassment how much they mean to them.

How is there not yet a Dragon Prince au where Callum and Rayla died when they fell off the cliff, like the spell didn’t work and they both fell to their deaths together and like, when Claudia goes to save her dad she sees them just, laying there and doesn’t do anything and Erzan looks for them and basically finds the last (not including his aunt) of his family laying dead because of the dragon prince. Idk just kinda spit ballin.

Things I want to see on the next season of The Dragon Prince

A) Callum dealing with the destruction of his primal stone (his only source of magic upon which he entrusted a big part of his own self worth)

B) More Ezran and Callum bonding moments.

C) Erzan and Callum NOT getting super upset at Rayla for king Harrow's apparent death.

D) Some acknowledgement of king Harrow's fate because quite frankly I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone what actually happened to him.

E) SKY ELVES!!!

F) Anything Rayllum.
