Hey do you ever think about Orym being a self proclaimed romantic who is “super lonely all the time, especially at night” and how guilty he feels about wanting romantic connection because he still loves his husband, and sees Will’s face every night before going to bed, but he’s starting to realize his deeper attraction to Ashton as something real and realize his pining for Dorian as something he shouldn’t ignore, but he was supposed to be with Will and he’s come to terms with Will dying, but sometimes it hurts so much, and yes he wants romantic connection and he’s so lonely, but he still hasn’t gotten revenge for Will’s death, and he may die soon so why pursue anything if he’s gonna be with Will again in the afterlife, BUT he may die soon and why hold off on admitting how he feels when he knows that despite losing Will the time they had was real good and he wouldn’t trade it for anything, and what if he doesn’t die what if it all turns out okay and maybe he now really has a reason to want and hope for not just *the* future, but HIS future because that future could include Dorian or Ashton and is it bad to not want to be with Will sooner or is it better to want to live and be with someone who cares for him because thats what Will would want and he wants romantic connection and he is so lonely all the time, especially at night, and what if I started chewing the drywall huh?

the idea that Orym has a death wish has led to some of the most laughable meta I've seen. Orym tells his closest friend - who has a penchant for delightfully wild impulses, is possibly important to the enemy's plot, and is about to see her biological father, about whom she has all kinds of complicated feelings - to not take unnecessary risks and people are handing out pamphlets on "a Treatise on Orym's Belief in Doom; Being an Account of His Deep-seated Hypocritical Actions Regarding The Pact With Morrigan, Hag and Fatestitcher" and it's like. idk man maybe they're going to be separated in a very clearly dangerous scenario and she specifically is in an emotionally charged and tricky one and he is saying "be careful", a normal thing friends might say to each other.

im currently pretty head empty about how she'd tell him lol....... i think back when i drew this i thought itd be funny if dal spilt the beans to chakotay not realizing that kathryn hadnt told him yet but IDK. i also have vague imaginings of them just having an argument or a confession or something, but essentially im not set. i can see her quietly, disappointedly telling him over a dinner theyre having together as friends in a lull of their conversations…

anyway there's definitely way less to work with than what the first splinter timeline (beyer books etc.) gives me,,, not a bad thing but its different and i think its fun to explore routes not taken in the alternate timeline. :)

SherLiam fics aren't usually something I indulge in because I tend to get annoyed at how many times Sherlock gets the shovel talk in fics (which I know is somewhat canonical - for Louis at least - but that and the fact that I tend to enjoy vers/switch dynamics and there isn't much of that means I don't tend to read stuff for the ship)

- but one thing I do find hilarious about SherLiam is just how utterly besotted William usually is with Sherlock. Meanwhile Louis is two feet behind him staring at the man like he's a dirty sock. It's just so fucking funny.
