Hello! I’m not sure what program you use, but I’d love to know what brushes you use in general - especially those used in the black and white water color ish segments and the sketchy extras after every chapter!
Of course! :)
I use Clip Studio Paint and the brushes are as follows:
For lineart: Mameo pencil
For coloring: standard Clip Studio marker along with this eraser here which I duplicated and reformed to be a brush.
For shading/lighting: Smeared Paintbrush
For details: Gasa Gaya Line Pen
For flashbacks:
This watercolor brush
Standard Wet Wash brush in Clip Studio (main one)
This brush set
Caspar pen
For the bonus sketches:
This pencil set
Standard pencil tool in Clip Studio
SU-Cream pencil
And various other environment brushes for grass, clouds, trees etc. that I can also post here later if people are curious :)

stumbled across your art while lookin at inspiration for dnd npcs, and your colors !! and lines !! are so nice !! i want to put it in my mouth and crunch on it !! while i quietly add you to my collection of cool people with cool art for inspiration, may i ask what program you use? would also love to know pretty much anything about your art process tbh !! :o -mars
hello mars!
i'd like to apologize for keeping your ask in my inbox for so long. truthfully, it's been some time since i've drawn, but i've kept your message throughout the years in my inbox to inspire & remind me to come back again soon. thank you for appreciating my dnd work especially! it's the type of work that i relate closest to, and i'm happy to know that is resonates with others as much as other work i've shared. it means the world!
for my current process, i use procreate + rusty nib brush packs for all my digital illustrations - but in the past, i used photoshop + kyle webster dry brushes! for color, i use any sort of textured watercolor wash (brush or image overlay) on a rendering mode over my flat colors to make them more dimensional! i often use the same brush i sketch with to line my work as well; pencil or bristle brushes tend to have more variety in texture, width, and opacity that add a lot of dimension to lines than a usual harder edged ink liner. lastly, i tend to duplicate the lineart after its finished, change the color to something like a saturated pink or teal, and set that cloned layer on a rendering mode like 'pin light' to make the whole thing "glow" - fun way to also add dimension!
thank you so much again for taking the time to send such a kind ask to lil ol me - i hope this long overdue answer reaches you & helps you on your journey! 🥹🙏

hi hi! first off thank you so much for always serving looks. your art is phenomenal and your style feels like it belongs on the walls of a luxury fashion HQ.
stunning stunning stunning
i was wondering if you ever get the time, would you mind (please) showing us any tips on how to achieve that rich variety of textures you have on so many of your fits? the one you did recently of the three Tifa fits, for example, has so many different textures represented. I wouldn't even know where to begin achieving that!
no pressure of course! if it's a trade secret then please do keep it. I'm just so impressed and curious and had to speak up
thanks so much, keep up the beautiful work x
Hello!
First off, thank you so much for your wonderful words! Working in the fashion industry is my dream so this means a whole lot to me.
I can totally share! I'll try my best to explain my process because it varies quite often, especially now that I switched from Photoshop and Procreate, but if I were to give my step by step, it's this:
sketch> lineart> color> shade> paint over> texture/grain/sharpen/contrast
The unique coloring I had a few drawings back came from working with an Adjustment Layer with a Gradient Map on Photoshop. But now since I use Procreate, my main trick is making the colors much darker than I want initially, and then putting a bunch of highlights with a Color Dodge layer with a textured brush.
Now, my main thing is that I never use blending brushes and my brushes (outside of color blocking) are always textured. Charcoal, pencil, grainy, grungy etc, that is what you're looking for. If you need something slightly softer, watercolor brushes that mimic real ones are ones I use as well, just not as often as the others.
My latest Tifa piece uses all official Procreate brushes that come with the app. The Rosette brush, which is under the Textures brush folder, and the Flicks brush under the Spraypaints folder. (Also Derwent, 6B pencil and Gloaming for sketching and lineart)
General rule of thumb with shine is that it can only get so light, so make sure your base is on the darker side.
Tumblr media
Here is my effects folder. That's where I add highlights, mood and texture. I've also been enjoying the noise and sharpen feature on Procreate, and I apply them all on a grey overlay layer on top of all of my art. Also a bunch of color burn and overlay layers.
For reference, here is the art without the effect folder compared to the final art.

Hope this helps! ❤

Hello sensei i request guidance
I have recently been reminded on my packet of ohuhu markers i bought a while back. Funny thing though,
I dont know how to use them (never used markers before let alone the alcohol ones or whatever the ones i got are)
Your use of markers is majestic, if i may ask, can you bestow upon me divine wisdom and show me where to start so i can learn please? Theres a lot of stuff online and its incapacitating me
Thank you for your time O great one!
*strokes fake beard* ah yes. my divine wisdom which i most certainly have and not my haphazard "winging it" XD
in all seriousness I'm really also still pretty new to markers;;;; So I wouldn't say I'm great at them yet ahdhhedjjd. I can only give a few points of advice:
1. Paper - I'd argue this is the most important part bc 70% of the art quality WILL be based on how well your paper takes ink. The papers I use are either Ohuhu's own marker sketchbook or watercolor/mixed media paper (about 200 gsm).
I would recommend the marker paper since it's actually specialized for markers and makes the color pop more. Watercolor paper also works, but it makes the colors look a lil duller. In my experience, it's blending markers on watercolor paper dries slower, which makes it easier to blend smoothly/with less streaks. I heard it also sucks up your marker ink more, but I haven't been using markers long enough to know.
2. Blending - There should be a colorless alcohol-only marker in ur set. You use that for blending (mostly). Lay down the colorless "ink" first, AND THEN draw over it with the colors you want to blend--while the alcohol is still wet ofc.
This is difficult to explain without visuals--but, I also tend to use the lighter/fainter colors as a "blending color" also. Blending colors in the same hue or are analogous is easier. Mostly. Meanwhile I had to fight for my life trying to blend orange with blue or even just a cooler gray without looking muddy.
3. Bleeding - THESE THINGS LOVE TO BLEED FR. On both marker paper and watercolor paper, I always have to compensate for how much the ink bleeds/feathers once it actually touches the paper, especially when you're using brush tip markers. I hate it ✨
Also if Ohuhu includes this plastic? film? thingy with their markers iirc. You put that on the back of the paper you're drawing on to catch any ink that bleeding through the page.
4. swatch your markers - imo markers are WAY more rigid in terms of color and blending. Yet frustatingly, they also can look very different when wet vs. when dry. SO! it helps alot to make swatches of your markers so you can get a consistent idea of what they'll actually look like.
5. Use colored pencils instead of markers for drawing details - After doing the broad colors with marker, I like to go back in with colored pencils to add detail and for some color correction. I can't do details in marker. I'm not powerful enough for that hfhrhehe
6. Ohuhu's marker caps DON'T match the color they are. It's dumb and another reason why you should make swatches fhhdjej
Aside from that I don't think I have much else. The rest of my knowledge comes from watching other artists' tutorials:
youtube
youtube
in summary: i have no idea what im doing 👍 hope this helps! ✨

Hello! Hope you don't mind me hopping in for a random question. I am curious to know what is your favorite medium to make art with, and why? If you like different mediums for different things, can you explain?
Please & thank you!
Hi ! I don't mind at all ! Everyone is welcome to drop in my dms but especially you dear Tolkien mutual <3
My favorite medium is watercolor, in the sense that it's the one I have more fun doing ! I especially like to just pencil sketch and color with watercolors. That's what my sketchbook is filled with but I rarely post these because of their "unfinished" and "unpolished" look. And let's be honest traditionnal art doesn't always find its public on social medias and most of these sketches are OC things.
I mostly use digital for more "complex" pieces because it allows a lot more possibilities and preciseness and I like to play with different lights and brushes !
Finally I started painting with gouache a few months ago and I really like it !!! It's so smooth and pleasing ! I really want to do more but this medium takes me a lot more time ...
And you what are your favorite mediums ? I really like your paintings !

Hi! I love your art, especially the kiribaku art as I love the ship myself. Anyways, can I ask what you use to colour your characters in your kiribaku fanart? Like are they coloured pencils or markers? I just want to same effect in my art.
Hope you understand!
🐱
Hello!!! Thank you so much for liking my art :'D I've been kinda jumbled lately so I haven't really been posting much-
Most of my traditional art is either alcohol markers (mostly Copics), colored pencils, or watercolors. Those are my main go-tos for regular art supplies. I also use stuff like Tombow water-based markers and fineliners/brush nib Zebra pens.
I definitely recommend just kinda going hogwild with whatever you have available and seeing in what ways you can make the materials work. I work a desk job during the week and sometimes all I have are basic writing pens and highlighters but I still have fun making stuff with that in my spare time! vvvvvv

(Steeltoe from the game RAM ((Random Access Mayhem)) which is coming out on Steam soonish :D)
Just have fun and make stuff >3<b

hello :) i had two questions to ask but first i must tell you that your art is beautiful ! im so glad i stumbled across it
i was curious about what brushes you use in procreate (if that is what you use that is), i really enjoy the texture and line weight in your work so i thought i would ask
i also wanted to know how you go about colouring skin, especially with unique lighting… do you use reference images? either for anatomy or for skin tone? most of my art is b&w out of comfort haha but if you have any tips when it comes to working in colour i would love to hear them !
once again you are so so talented and i hope you have a lovely day <3
Hello!! Thank you for the questions and kind words 🤲💙✨
~
First of all, brushes
You guessed it right, I use Procreate and here are the brushes I use the most:
Tumblr media
Most of them are standard, but Water Liner and Wooden Pencil, my most favourite brushes, are from downloaded sets. Here's where Wooden Pencil comes from:
I couldn't find the exact same set of Water Liner (I guess it's because they updated it), but this one is pretty close:
I use these two brushes pretty much for everything. Wooden Pencil is a little modified (blend mode on multiply) and I use it both for sketches and linework. Water Liner is sometimes for filling with base colours and always for rendering.
Also all of my artworks have a noise effect!
~
Secondly, coloring skin. Most of the time I go with the flow and do what feels right. Of course I keep in mind anatomy and other stuff like surrounding and skin tone. Like, everything that surrounds your character shares a little bit of it's colour (but you need to be careful with it). Also skin by itself is pretty colorful, for examble forehed is yellowish, cheeks and nose have some pink and chin and jaw are a little bit greeny-bluish. Also I think Ukrainian painting school has a great influence on me, so you can check out some of our artists. For example, Fedir Krychevsky and Oleksandr Murashko.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When it comes to some tricky lighting I start looking for references or use this thing:
There's also one with male head from this guy, you can find it in his profile. They're really helpful when you can't figure out how to do shadows and lighting.
Hope it all will be useful for you!

hi! sorry if you've already answered this, but would you mind sharing what art programs you use and if there's any certain brushes you use to achieve the painting like effect? i really like the way it looks (especially in that one sayaka watercolor art) and have wanted to incorporate some painting-like elements in my own work but can never quite get it down. thank you!!
Hello. No worries, I don’t actually get questions on the arsenal behind my works often, and I don’t mind sharing them with you.
As of this period in time, I have only been using the art application known as Procreate. It is not free, as in Procreate, a laundry list worth of brushes are already made available to you, so you won’t have all that much trouble looking for something to use. If you do proceed with a purchase of this program or maybe already have it, have fun. I do not know how to paint, so I rely on very rudimentary tools to try and create the illusion that I can:
1) The watercolour effect for the Sayaka piece you mentioned was done using the Tinderbox brush. I may have moved it down in my own work bench, but you’ll either find it under the Pencil/Sketching set or the Inking Set. Somewhere there. Combine it with the fifty other spray paint tools and you’ll have a messy “splash” effect. That piece you’re referring to [or at least I hope I’m thinking about the right one] is quite old, so I haven’t touched the brush since then.
2) The default round painting brush under Procreate’s Painting set. Very versatile. Skilled artists would prefer its flat-headed counterpart. Dashing it against the screen several times can help you achieve a painting effect.
3) External brushes. I have quite a lot of them but the one I only ever use is one called Petra’s Pencils/brushes, and within it there’s a special brush called the Real Pencil. It’s smooth and gives you a distinct texture. <- Experimenting with different pencils you find or even local to Procreate can help you achieve strange and interesting results.
My own words are so redundant to me at times. I have prepared a sheet here so instead of panning back and forth you can just save the picture down.
Tumblr media
I wish you nothing but satisfaction with your works. ^_^ Thank you for the ask.

Can you tell us what do you use to color your drawings on traditional? I need some tips •́  ‿ ,•̀
why hello!! Sorry for such a late answer!!
so, I’m a fun little something we call ✨inconsistent✨(sigh) so while I may not be the best person to ask…but here’s things I commonly use color wise (favored art supply dump)
Alchohol ink markers
I use these most, they are a beautiful thing, my favorite are Ohuhu as they are high quality and a much lower price then brands such as Copic. (Can you taste the salt.)
They have less blend ability in comparison to Copic but are overall a much better investment if you ask me! They are great for a more smooth look! Another one I have around that I use for less saturated colors is touch youch youch
I very much prefer brush pens over the chiseled ones, for a paint like experience, and more dynamic application! Again these are just personal preference!
(I have a bad habit of opening ink capsules and painting with ink. I would not necessarily recommend this.)
Watercolor
There’s lots of pretty nice watercolor you can get for a pretty cheap price! The ones I prefer currently are MeiLiang, I got them online for a good price and they are very nice!
That said I do mix around different brands and such, whatever is on hand.
Gel pens
I love gel pens, even if you just have like one or two it’s such a difference!! I love just having white ones for adding little details and such to drawings! You can also get colors if you like! I use the Jellyrollers!
Colored pencils
a lot of people hate colored pencils which I get, but I find them very helpful for detailing (when I have motivation to do so lol) I often use them on top of drawings I’ve layed down a base of alcohol ink with! That way it has a clean base and can add the fun texture and stuff afterwards!! Those smooth looks can be achieved with pencils alone, I often just don’t have time for that :) it’s very fun though, layering is key with pencils
I do very much enjoy prismicolor colored pencils!!! It’s an investment I don’t regret lol, although I’m sure any soft core colored pencils would have the same effect!!
Posca
occasionally I use posca markers for large poster sized drawings, esp for the ink capsules. I like the paint coverage!! That said they can be a pain to work with.
it’s probably not good to be like me and use all of this on sketch paper. (I know. I’m aware that that is psychotic.) but I do normally use sketch paper, getting some multi medium paper might be good if you are interested in paints inks and pencils though, that way you can use it for all of the above :))
Color wise that’s what I commonly mix and match with, when it comes to pens my FAVORITE pens to sketch or do lineart with are Tombow calligraphy pens. Simple brush pens, it makes detailing harder but I enjoy the dynamics. There’s lots of micro pens you can find for small details as well!! I also prefer to use mechanical pencils for sketching, simply because the mechanical lead stays thin and sharp instead of getting dull. That said, I use very cheap mechanical pencils, and sometimes you need a full pencil depending on the project.
There’s a little mini rant on the art supplies I use color wise, again these are just my preferences from what I’ve tried!! I’m by no means a professional haha, i very much experiment and make a mess of things!
Traditional art can become…quite the investment. Especially when it comes to buying all of the art supplies as your resources dwindle. I have to buy new art supplies much more often than I’d like to admit.
All that said, I am a firm believer of art being able to be formed from any medium!! >:D
be it a simple 2b pencil, a ballpoint pen, or crayons products, I think anything can be used to make something really pretty :))
Only real advice I have is don’t be scared to mix and match, get messy, and experiment!! Do whatever’s most fun, and don’t think you can’t make something great from something simple!! There’s no real rules. Only techniques and suggestions. It can be daunting because there’s no undo button in traditional art, but I think that’s a really good way to expand your abilities :0 it teaches you to roll with mess ups and learn how to work with them!!
Most importantly, let yourself learn from others, but NEVER let people force how you use your supplies, don’t be scared to beat them up if that’s what you need (the art supplies not the people.), and don’t think you need the fanciest things to make nice things >:D
if you want more specific tips and such feel free to ask, I’ll do my best to answer :,)

hello, I'm in love with the way you use white/light lines in your drawings
I don't think I've ever seen someone use them to define shapes quite like you, especially in digital drawings
do you draw a pencil sketch before drawing over it digitally? do the white lines come from the habit of using a white pen over marker/watercolors? am I totally off? I'm so interested!
hiya!! aa thank you :DD yeah i usually like to add those highlights where there would usually be dark lineart b/c i think it adds kind of a nice contrast! i don't use lineart in my art (i just render on top of the sketch and base colors) so i find it helpful in making colors pop out
it's actually just a light pink procreate "add" layer set to around 60-80% (or sometimes i'll leave it at around 100% and lower my brush opacity)! that's why the highlights also have kind of a pink tint to them. i think the setting itself is usually used to add lighting, but i like using it for highlights bc i like how it bleeds with the underlying colors
i actually don't use pencil sketches, but i did switch from watercolor to digital, which i guess did bring over some of my habits (like using darker versions of the base color to line instead of using lineart). but the highlight technique is just something i accidentally stumbled on a few months ago (i think i accidentally set the wrong layer and ended up liking it), and have been doing it ever since gjdflkjdf
i've included the settings i use below in case anyone wanted them!

hello mr. hassel, big fan, i’m in your art classes but i never really speak to you or anyone but i’d like to ask for some help with this painting assignment. i’m not very good at painting :/
Oh hello!
Yes, painting is quite difficult to get into for the very first time. Even if you just want to do watercolors or something with acrylics, it can be overwhelming, and going to say this now? You will very rarely like your first piece.
Oh treasures, I didn't even like my first... Ten, twenty? Especially with oils, that's absolutely frustrating.
Oh goodness yes.
If you want to stop by after or in between classes I would be more than happy to help you in more detail, but in the meantime I can at least give you some food for thought to work on in your own time:
Sketch an outline. If you want to use watercolors it would have to be a light sketch-
Or you can use colored pencils-
Ooh good point--but having a basic "skeleton" for your painting is always a good start.
Have a practice paper available. Especially if you're painting for the first time, or just using new paints, it's always good to test out colors and brush strokes before you apply it to the actual piece.
Also be sure to wipe and clean your brush thoroughly in between switching colors; pulled out my own hair more than once for neglecting that.
I... Remember, yes. Well, finally!
Take your time! Art shouldn't be rushed, especially when you are starting! It takes time to understand what works for you, and to try each medium at least once!
I hope some of this helps you! And again, don't hesitate to stop by my classroom in between classes!

Hi! I really love your art, especially the piece you did of Marc Spector and the one of Javier Peña—the textures and the colours and just the whole feel of your pieces is phenomenal. I was wondering if you would mind sharing what sorts of brushes and canvas textures you use? I’m learning digital art right now so I’m always super fascinated by what other artists use.
Hello Anon, thank you for liking these ⭐️
I’ll try to make this understandable and clear to some extent !
I draw on my IPad but you can really get stuff done with a regular drawing tablet (that’s how most people start and it’s a great tool for beginners )
I use procreate which isn’t a free app but it’s really worth every penny. Also it’s not a subscription and just a one time payment (I paid about 16 euros but the might change depending on your country)
If you are using a drawing tablet I really don’t know what program is the best because it’s been a while and it will depend on your budget and computer. However I do recommend that you use chonky brushes. The point is to mimic brush strokes to some extent and play with these.
For procreate :
Free brushes ! : The app comes with a bunch of great brushes. A favorite is definitely Nikko Rull. It is chonky and has strong edges that you can make harsher or softer with pen pressure. Over all all the brushes under the paint and textures group are fun to play with. Try to play with shapes. Erase with other brushes to get them to look like splashes or brush strokes. Be messy
Brush Packs ! : These one aren’t free but they’re great and they’re the ones I use. I mainly use two packs from MaxPacks . For lineart and sketches I use the Gouache Pack although I believe you don’t necessarily need it for the artstyle you’re trying to achieve., it is still a great pack to go and try brushes if you want a gouache like style. The Watercolor Pack is GREAT. It provides really useful brushes to achieve unique textures and blending styles. Also not a necessity but it’s really unmatched. The paper/canvas texture I usually use for my drawings comes from this pack. (The brush is the MaxU Paper Hot Press). They will also give you a pre made canvas with a cold press and hot press style, use what fits your taste better.
If you do not want to buy brush packs (or can’t), you can also look for paper textures for procreate and you should be able to find some for free. You can layer the texture as the top layer and use it as a filter (usually it’s the multiply filter but I believe other filters could also be applied). If you’re editing savvy you could also just take a good quality picture of textured paper and use it as a base.
My overall advice is to : Play with brushes, make them random, erase, bring texture and body to the drawing. I’m still learning but the clue is to experiment ✨
I recommend you to look for gouache paintings as they are often really textured and make great inspiration :) . Some favorite artists of mine right now are Dean Cornwell, Ludek Marold and J.C. Leyendecker
I also recommend you check awesome artists like : Foxystaches @dracarysgang

hi i seen your post about pkmn just do pkmn things and if you havent already you should watch the PokeToons on the official pokemon youtube channel! my favourite is " Help! Ive turned into a Gengar" its honestly so cute and you can see the ghost pkmn being menaces ❤❤ and on the " Pokemon Kids TV channel" theres actually a really cute thing i watched were a dude cooks and he has his pokemon just doing everyday things its SO cute! that series is "Pokemon Sweets Paradise" i highly recommend them ! thats on the pkmn kids tv channel
Hello! And yeah, that post was a lot of fun and I just LOVE seeing what people have to add on it, and I always love more of that kind of thing so I went ahead and I just watched the first three poketoon episodes! Blossom's dream is my definite favorite so far! Her mom looks kinda like cheren from BW lol. One, it's just wonderful seeing pokemon do pokemon stuff like you said- I love when they lean more heavily into the 'pokemon are animals' thing. But two, I adore the different art styles they're messing with. From the first one with Scraggy being very reminiscent of older american cartoons like that cuphead game was, with physical comedy/slapstick and no words, to the pancham one with its more geometric, 3D cel-shaded sorta style (you can see that they used 3d models in some areas, with this tree below especially, which looks out of an indie pc adventure game),-
Tumblr media
- to the blossom one where the style is somewhere between twilight wings and the regular anime! I spent half the time watching with my sister just pausing it and pointing out the different artistic things they were doing, like where I could see overlay effects or where I could see what kind of brushes they were using. Like down here, you can see a rougher brush was used in favor of a normal hard round brush for the lighting. In my art program there's a few dry bristle brushes that have a similar effect! I know you told me about this because of the pokemon-animal aspect of it but honestly, the art experimentation is what's really kept me hooked on every last frame! They use watercolor brushes and hard brushes and rough ones and it's just so refreshing and fun to watch, seeing them blend textures in a way they don't really budget for in the usual anime.
Tumblr media
At first I kind of wrote off the poketoons as more aimed at younger kids (which, ironic given that my blog is based around pokeani but you know what I mean), but honestly? I'm enjoying watching these more than most normal episodes! Thank you so much for telling me to watch them and giving me that push! I'll come back with any thoughts on later episodes if I have them! Also. Random Solidad encounter at the 7-11.

2024 Update
Hello, Tumblr!
I really want to use this platform more, especially since this is supposed to be my main thing, with the domain and all... so I'm setting up some challenges for myself this year to keep myself on track!
2023 has been kind to me and my art but I think I haven't documented it well enough as something that I could look back to easily. As someone who's a sucker for nostalgia and keeper of old journals, I want to give my art journey some sort of documentation.
For 2024, I want to make a monthly blog like this, featuring some art pieces I truly enjoyed making the past month and some insights on where I am in terms of art and life. Just want to stay true to this being a personal & creative blog.
The last art piece I made for 2023 is this piece featuring my character, Spice. It's for Pocket Pal's monthly prompt. It took me less than a day to make and it was a really fun piece. I did keep getting sidetracked since we're also preparing for the new year.

At the end of 2023 I find myself enjoying the watercolor brushes in my app. I find them really convenient for someone like me who's very impatient on coloring and shading. I also stopped busying myself with lineart; it's too tedious for me and I personally like a more loose-looking piece vs something too clean and proper. So most of the pieces I made at the end of the year are just from cleaned up sketch layers. I only redo them if they look too pixelated from all the transformation tools I used.
I still have quite a few art trades to do from December, so those will definitely be the priority this January. Here's to hoping I could get on with this monthly thing, and possibly, share more art here.

Hello!! I’m not sure if you still take writing requests but I was in the mood for some colossus fluff and I really like your celestial steel series, so could I make a request? It can be with your OC or just (y/n), and just any sort of fluffy goodness c:
oh anon you are speaking my language, especially after my latest celestial steel entry is just chock full of angst (pssst you can read it here). These are sort of half fluff/half just general headcanons? Personally, I love knowing a bunch of domestic stuff about characters and that’s my idea of fluff. So, without further ado...
Colossus (Piotr Rasputin) Fluff
Tumblr media
He’s good with kids, and I think that’s pretty well established given his relationship with Ilyana as a child. But a lot of times, kids can be afraid of him - giant shiny muscle metal man literally TOWERING over everyone? Yeah, that’s intimidating to everyone regardless of if they’re a child or not. So, when a child does get scared of him at first meeting, Piotr gets down to his knees and gets down onto their level, making sure to smile warmly and ask them their name, what their favorite color is, etc. It’s not uncommon to see a small group of children tailing him around like ducklings, or to have several hanging off his giant frame like he’s their personal jungle gym.
He’s the best person to go grocery shopping with if you want to be efficient. He has his list, and his meals planned with each ingredient he needs, and more than likely already knows the layout of the store.
He’s the worst person to go to the hobby or art supplies store with. He gets decision paralysis and will spend hours deciding on new brushes and canvases.
Loves supporting small businesses! Will always go out of his way to look up local art supplies stores or artisans on Etsy. Handmade watercolor pigments have a special place in his heart (and his art).
He’ll give you his sweaters unprompted, saying that the cold doesn’t bother him since he’s from a literal tundra (and also because he’s made of metal on most occasions) and they are the warmest and coziest things ever. Regardless of your size, they will probably be oversized just because of how this boy is built like a fridge. If you’re dating Piotr, there’s a good chance that his sweaters will just end up in your closet.
He’s a flirt in the very old fashioned way, and will go out of his way to make you feel like a princess/prince/royal entity/etc. Opening doors, walking you to your home (even if you live at the same place ffs), and refusing to let you pay for anything. Not out of any sort of sexism or anything, but more just because he wants to take care of you and make you feel special! If that’s not your style, he’s cool with that, just be open and honest with him and he’ll adjust.
Not a huge TV watcher, but can be convinced to watch with a group for a viewing party. Yukio and NTW got him into RuPaul’s Drag Race (‘it’s literal art’, they said. And they were right, he loves it). Deadpool got him into Say Yes To The Dress
