i know not many people would want to read a 10,000 word article about the minecraft end poem and how the author, Julian Gough, was never fairly compensated for his work and has made it public domain.
But it's a very well-written and heartfelt read, and he makes it very clear that none of this is a cash-grab and despite the fact that he is essentially a starving artist in this capitalist society, he only mentions his financial struggles despite Minecraft's huge huge success at the bottom of this article and not in the tweets so as to not dilute his message.
Anyway, I just think it'd be cool if those who are able to could support him in some way whether it be subscribing to his substack or donating to his paypal (that's linked in the article, you can ctrl + F to find it easier), that's all.

It's funny having people pretend covid is done with and it's just now that all the immunocompromised people I know are finally getting it (including myself, a month and a half removed) because it makes it really obvious that non-compromised people's actions were directly protecting us and now that everything's lifted everywhere it's biting the most vulnerable people in the ass

The prevailing belief of many ASTV viewers seems to be that Miguel O'Hara is an actual, literal vampire. Do you think this funny.
Nope! <3 it shows such a lack of willingness to do even Basic Research that would take maybe two seconds to look up that it makes me want to Kill. like. cmon. he has Fangs because he's half-spider...,,.,
They're hollow, and whenever he Bites People, it is specifically with the intent to POISON them with the VENOM from his FANGS-- he also Says That every time he does it, like he's an anime character, lol, and it means a lot to me. we don't know the exact makeup or potency of his venom, but we Do know that it's fast-acting, paralytic, and (apparently, thankfully) non-toxic, at least.

i have seen more posts abt this pop up sometimes but i think ppl really need to be taught more about OCD and its triggers because there is a lot of normalized behavior online that hurt OCD people and trigger them into episodes and dangerous behavior. things like PTSD triggers have become more widely discussed, and i think many find it easier to understand because they can grasp that its rooted in trauma, and the resulting trigger from the trauma 'makes more sense' most of the time.
OCD is complicated, and one of its biggest issues is that it is often rooted in things that 'dont make sense'. its what often results in people not taking OCD seriously, because some thing the person is freaking out about or focused on or spiraling about is strange, irrational, delusional, etc to them. this, plus the long time misinformation regarding OCD and seeing it has a neat freak/organization/pickiness disorder, makes people take it less seriously because their impression is that its some person simply getting upset about minor changes that others wouldnt normally be bothered by. so when its a bigger, more obvious, upsetting reaction suddenly its even more irrational to have been triggered because people cannot understand the weight and effect of what they think is so simple.
people absolutely need to unlearn this perspective on OCD, and take it seriously so that they can properly analyze their behavior to understand how it might be harmful. honestly the strict and controlling attitudes in online communities more often than not feed harmful thinking for OCD people, and only continue to do so when going unchecked

im happy my post is garnering discussion but honestly i wasnt around for 2018-2021 fandom on tumblr and i was mainly talking about how its kind of silly to get mad at people for portraying colonizer countries as mean, or calling it demonization and stuff. like its okay not to like personally portraying ur fav characters as mean or part of the state, but getting irritated at the fact that it exists or is popular imo kind of misses the fact that this… is the state and nation personification fandom. and its hard to say its not canon when canon did once portray the characters in uniform and at times involved in their state activities… like the early strips discussing western imperialism in china is literally ‘china being bullied by the allies’ ‘france wanting to grope china’ ‘china being treated like a maid’ etc etc like they were very much. the state LOL also china and japan’s canon relationship, as much as I have my issues with it, has an entire thing about china being stabbed by japan… i do feel like hetalia started out as a history nerd’s history exploration that blended humour with ‘what i find cute’ with satire etc etc, which inevitably involves illustrating the personifications as vessels of state and culture, and although the modern strips have deviated quite a bit… well, different people will approach this series for different reasons, right? Whether its serious or comedic content showing the characters as mean or imperialist or unpleasant, it’s not something that deviates too far from canon (if we take all canon eras into consideration) nor is it surprising given how history laden the topic is.

as someone currently watching tng for the first time (only in season 4), it is a little odd when i see fans say that "no one ever recognizes data having emotions." like data denies it, but so often the moments when he's explicitly denying them are when he's talking with a character who's like. "yeah the thing ur experiencing is normal humans often (mourn/doubt themselves/whatever)" and WHEN data denies it they just kindof. give him a look tht to ME reads like his emotions are just an open secret for everyone else and theyre not gonna fight him on it. theyre not generally acknowledged, but like, i dont think ive seen a bridge member outright deny it except for deanna before the beard bit (tho idr her exact wording), and tht was early on.

I realized my disconnect when it comes to talking about one piece, and why I always say I like talking to dudebros more even if they're the worst... Is, I like to analyze literature. I like to analyze the source material and the canonic information. Shipping and stuff is for fun but I see it separately. The intersect bc canon inspires fanon but fanon CANNOT change canon.. I don't mix the two things especially not when I'm doing analysis... So I'll say things that are factual and ppl who are stuck in their headcanons or personal biases will think I'm saying something bad. What I'm saying isn't good or bad. It's not judgmental of the character I'm talking about. Nor is it a bias bc I like them/dislike them. I'm analyzing odas writing and his intentions as an author and what he's trying to say and portray. Most ppl online are too caught up in headcanons and personal bias while having no media comprehension and they think that I'm attacking their made up fanon stuff..... Noooo..... You're over there playing pretend and I'm over here doing analysis. We are not doing remotely near the same activity. They don't always need to intersect. Anyways it's hard to have genuine analytical conversations with ppl fully indulged in fandom and fanon. The only group of ppl who doesn't do that are dudebros but also... They get hung up on other stuff that doesn't matter too. Idkkkkkkkkk.

“eleven’s story shouldn’t revolve around mike/romance because she’s traumatised and needs to find herself” well here’s some good news! el’s storyline has NEVER revolved around mike or romance!
s1: the season where mike and el spend the most time with each other; el learns about the outside world, about friendship, and tries to help the boys find will.
s2: the two of them don’t see each other until the second to last episode and her story revolves around her relationship with hopper/her mother/her past/kali.
s3: mike and el’s relationship has a little more focus but el literally breaks up with mike to focus on herself and her friendship with max. there’s more to life than stupid boys! she breaks up with him in ep2 and they don’t get back together until the end of the season, and then el moves away.
s4: even though mike and el are together, theyre physically separated. and their reunion doesn’t last very long before el is taken away and once again learns about her past, her powers, her relationship with papa, herself.
like its so obvious that people who say el needs to be single to focus on herself/grow as a character/find independence don’t actually care about her as a character because el’s story from s1 has always been about ALL of those things.

ppl r wrong about kabru having adhd but not being autistic, he is autistic too, its just like classic fandomization troping of autism as the low energy awkward introvert and adhd as the high energy people person extrovert like theyre personality types and it’s a sliding scale dependent on how extroverted u r. autistic ppl can have high energy and be extroverted and love interacting w ppl. ppl w adhd can be quiet and awkward and uniniterested in relationships and have rly low energy. someone has to tell u ppl this over and over to get it in ur brain

terfs go climb into a hole and start rotting. animals cannot inherently tell your "biological sex" you are all so fucking stupid. All this post is saying is that animals are not infallible judges of character and some of them make really stupid vibe checks and that people should try not to take it personally. Unless youre a terf in which case they know and they hate you and you should take it personally
re that one post tbh i do want to stress i dont think animals are like magically psychic at knowing your True Gender tbh i think ppl definitely get way too weird about Animal's judgement of ppl.
Sometimes a dog will vibe check a man and the dog will be right and you should listen. but sometimes the dog will vibe check someone for no good reason. sometimes dogs have wack judgement. sometimes dogs have biases influenced by their owners or previous owners. like. there are Racist Dogs. its not the dogs fault, but that doesnt make the bias theyve developed less real, or less potentially hurtful. i dont think we need to like, Cancel Dogs Bc Sometimes Ppl Can Train Them To Be Racist, but we do need to stop perpetuating the idea that a dog's judgement of someone is infallible. theyre not responsible for it and its not their fault its developed, theyre just dogs, they didnt choose it, but that doesnt mean theyre RIGHT lmao. i think its important to stress this for many reasons but in regard to that last post specifically, if youve ever been vibe checked as a gender you arent by a judgy dog its literally not your fault. might not even be the owners fault. not the dogs fault cos like. its a fucking dog. you do kinda have to be the bigger person in that scenario cos the other person is. A Dog.
