I will only be talking about Makoto and Hajime cause I actually haven't started the third game yet and do I even have to tell anyone about Komaru's personality cause hers is so obvious, love they tho <3

Anyway, usually visual novel protagonists are just a blank slate this is so the player can 'see themselves' in the protagonist, I hate this tho. BUT this is not what Danganronpa does. Okay, they do it SLIGHTLY but Hajime and Makoto each have very different personalities.

Makoto is very naive, trusting and optimistic while Hajime is much more a realist if anything. Hajime is much more suspicious of people and is often very sarcastic, which is why he's honestly my fav.

Proof of this is that Makoto was literally the most optimistic person after eight of his friends died, like by the end of that game after all the shit he went through he was still like 'Guys, we can get through this with the power of friendship!' Also he tried to stop Junko from killing herself, he says 'the whole point of this was so that NOBODY would have to die.' He was literally willing to try and rehabilitated JUNKO ENOSHIMA. HELLO!?

Hajime on the other hand. He was told that he just had to stay on a tropical island just get along with his 'future classmates' and he was in distress, like he was freaking out about just being on an island with a full stocked shop, a farm, an airport, a beach, a restaurant full of food, a lobby with an arcade machine and his own personal cottage with his own personal bathroom and he was all like 'THIS IS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!' like calm down. (Love him tho<3)

Also can we talk about how it took the entire game for Makoto to swear? Like he swears like once? Maybe twice and it was to Junko where he says 'You're so full of...shit!', which like good for him ig. But Hajimes FIRST thought when seeing Junko was 'Woah, what a crazy bitch.' Like WOW, Jesus Christ Hajime also I'm pretty sure Hajime swears multiple times throughout the game.

BUT Hajime being more sarcastic and realistic than Makoto could also be to the fact that Makoto didn't have to deal with Nagito, Mikan, Hiyoko or Monomi, Teruteru..so, maybe that's why.

Anyway Hajime>Makoto even though I still love Makoto. Hajime is the funniest man on earth AND THEY DO HAVE PERSONALITIES

10: Dawn FM - The Weeknd

I’ll be honest, i’m not in love with the entirety of this record. I think it has some of the best pop songs that’ve dropped recently (back to back even!), but after track 7 it’s not quite the same (am i alone in this?? let me know!!). It’s a shame too, because at 16 tracks total, the “great” part ends up being less than half of the album. Sooo why is it on my top 10 at all? Well, because i did still play it and replay it tons of times. Those first songs on it... man. Immaculate vibes. Though after Out of Time ends i almost always turn it off 😅

Side tangent regarding Out of Time, btw: I’ve always liked OPN, and getting the chance to listen to his production on big artists like this is kind of a treat. When i heard OoT though i was like “Damn! They arranged this?! This is really precise and detailed and far beyond the scope of what i thought they were capable of...” So then when i learned that the backing track was actually sampled from Tomoko Aran’s 1983 song Midnight Pretenders i was really disappointed (i’d even listened to that album AND song before, i just didn’t remember it). We’ll leave the discussion of how i feel about covers/sampling in general for another day though!

I’m telling you man, that Hermit song? Those 41 minutes go by reeeal quick. Don’t be scared of pure beauty! On top of it there are also some other banging tracks as well. The Fool’s soundscape is another highlight for me, for example.

08: Fawn - Foxtails

I like heavy shit, although i’m not usually into screamo stuff... but i’m kinda slowly changing that. This record was great for me in that regard cuz it’s not all entirely sung in that style. Great entry point if you wanna get attuned with that general sound, probably. I didn’t know this band prior to hearing this, and now i can say i’m a fan! These tunes rule. They sound younger than me though, and i’m still trying to cope with that LOL

07: Tropical Dancer - Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul

Brilliant dance/club/techno/house from these two. I would say “biting social commentary” if 1) it wasn’t the most clichéd phrase ever and 2) if it wasn’t at least the baseline """wokeness""" society should just operate at nowadays, honestly. It’s also charming and funny. And danceable AF. Great great great record; not many like it.

04: Renaissance - Beyoncé

Not much i can add to the discussion of this album, or Beyoncé in general... Well, actually, one thing that comes to mind is how this record comes off as extremely pro-capitalist and individualistic on her part. Idk i admit i don’t usually listen to her, so idk if that’s her usual spiel. It makes sense tho, with her being a gajillionare and having a completely different lifestyle than any of the people who listen to her. This album’s whole aesthetic is money. Even in the sound! It sounds like it was very expensive to make and like every single little beep and/or boop on it was analyzed and tested by a large team of specialists in order to fit perfectly in a song. I will say, though, it sounds fucking amazing. Really pristine production. Bop after bop. I’ve danced to this album a lot.

03: Pigments - Dawn Richard & Spencer Zahn

I loooove the concept of this album. It reminds me of 2021′s Promises by Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra in how a musical motif is introduced at the start and how it gets developed across the whole runtime of the record. I don’t wanna compare these two albums though; they’re very different. This one’s also really groovy at times! Love the composing, arranging, instrumentation, singing and everything else in this. And also, little details like the naming of the songs after... well, pigments, and having those pigments in order of appearance on the cover go a long way to making an album feel like a holistic, thought out experience for me. Love it!

02: Hellfire - Black Midi

Insane. Go listen to it if you haven’t already listened to it like 500 times like me. Or! Better yet, if you’ve heard it 500 times go and listen to it again. Insane! These kids really are pushing the whole jazz rock/prog rock/alt&art rock in general scene forward. I also love how each story (i.e. song) on this feels like a very different but still very tangible depiction of a hellish experience.

01: Motomami - Rosalía

Motomami’s an excellent record. That’s just how it is. It’s also special to me specifically because it dropped right around the time when i moved away from home, and i had it constantly on repeat on my new place. However, the real reason it’s on my #1 spot is because it kinda changed things, culturally speaking. It was a force of nature to be reckoned with, upon release. You see, i live in a natively Spanish speaking region, and over here this album was some sort of a cultural reset. I think that’s bigger than me or anyone else’s preferences, and it’s more than enough to warrant the top spot. I also just happen to love it!

One of my fav things about Cancun (besides the tropical weather ofc) was that even tho the Zona Hotelera strip was a nightmare of resorts, brainless tourists, and alcoholics there were still small random archaeological sites that survived the American influence and development.

The San Miguelito ruins are probably the largest of these and it’s a beautiful mini jungle with a small pyramid at its core; with the site being wedged between a bunch of resorts, busy roads and restaurants. There are gorgeous iguanas, lizards, birds and other animals who live among the palm trees and nature.

I did some research afterwards and realized the whole of the Cancun hotel strip used to be jungles, swamps, marshes and unpolluted beaches… but in the 1970s the Mexican government was looking for the perfect place on the Mayan Riviera to place a giant tourist industry geared towards American spring breaker-types.

There lived on the strip indigenous people descended from their Mayan ancestors who once ruled Cancun, but they were booted off by American corporations and land developers. Now the strip is full of Ritz-Carltons, McDonald’s and Hard Rock Cafes, but I loved San Miguelito because it was like a peek into life before capitalism hit the Caribbean coast of Mexico.

It made me want to visit the Amazon rainforest and it was cinematic so I felt like I was in Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals lmao! My bf climbed the pyramid and did a “father stretch my hands” type of pose it was cute. There’s something about pyramids that give one a feeling of reverence, like you want to open your arms to the sky and receive all the gifts of life and god.

Hii, just curious what is your favourite world to play in? do you play or prefer building/creating content?

Hey! I prefer building/decorating a bit more but I do play :) all the gameplay pics that pop up here occasionally are unscripted and show the utter chaos of my game :D

I get bored very easily and tend to have the attention span of a goldfish so I switch b/w several saves in different worlds to keep things interesting. I play a few households in each. There are saves in Bridgeport, Lucky Palms, Roaring Heights and Monte Vista from the eaxis/store worlds, so I like those (fixed and highly edited BP ofc to get rid of the all the fugly lol), also Sunlit Tides is very pretty and from what I remember the premades weren't too much of a fright.

I have a lot of cc worlds installed but some of my favs below:

Boroughsburg - for the real city experience (turn high detailed lots to 1 (or 2) in the options for best results)

Enekjaer - a super cute little rural Scandinavian island w/ dive spots

Porto Estivo - gorgeous Mediterranean world, empty but the creator has some lots for download for it

Simtorini - a tiny Greek island, fav for a vacation world

Suvadiva - another great tropical vacation option

The ones under here I love the look of, but I haven't played much for various reasons and can't vouch for playability:

Fairhaven City - I've played for a few sim days only but aside from some stuck sims and an inaccessible subway RH rug it seemed to run decently

Dronningslund - absolutely gorgeous but ran terribly laggy and crashy for me, which could very well be the fact that I don't have all the required EPs installed

São Paten - quite possibly the most beautiful ts3 world to me, unfortunately it's huge and not very gameplay friendly :/ (also I was missing like 4 bridges lol). I still open it from time to time to look at it or borrow lots

Prato di Livori - gorgeous, empty, large and has a metric fuckton of trees tho so idk what the performance would be in the long run, but it's sooo pretty

And a little bonus one if you're into HP - Hogwarts Wizarding World (download link in the description of the video). Super well-made and has playable tombs! I had so much fun exploring it, even if the teleportation thingies (Horus something?) sometimes messed up and sent you to the wrong location lmao :D

Overall I love medium-ish worlds with lots of detail and a specific, non-generic location, and I don't care for American suburbia. Thank you for the question and I hope you find something you like in the list 😊

the beginning:

this was such a great way to open this album, it’s so cinematic and really sets the mood so perfectly. one of my fav instrumental intros i’ve ever heard.

good in goodbye: “you put the over in lover, put the ex in next.”

the lyrics are so wonderfully corny and i’ll love this song forever, like the chorus is literally just so fun to sing along to.

i do think it feels a little... shallow compared to the rest of the album, and the album being released so long after this song came out makes it feel disconnected from the rest. but i love it so i don’t care.

this song is just sooo...... OUCH!

i’m obsessed with the way the chorus just SOUNDS like an emotional spiral, like her life falling apart, like falling into a deep depression, and then the outro builds like destructive racing thoughts.

also i never noticed the wave crashing and the bubbles at the very beginning until really recently, and i love that little touch. the whole song feels so underwater. cloudy and fuzzy. it does a good job of depicting certain symptoms of various mental illnesses.

i actually was fully not expecting to like this that much based off the snippets she’d shared, but omg this left me WEAAAAK on first listen, which was the best surprise

there are definitely so many layers to these lyrics too, despite it being just a bombastic sexy toxic love song on its surface, particularly when thinking about the album as a commentary on mental illness, and some of the breakup/love songs as metaphors rather than straightforward love songs. definitely about infatuation and toxicity and perhaps knowingly entering a bad relationship as a bad coping mechanism, a way to avoid dealing with your pain or (as we see in effortlessly) a way to just feel anything at all.

oh my god i was FLOOOOOORED at the dear society clip. dear society was and is one of my FAVOURITE songs, and i appreciate her reasoning for not including it on the album (just wanting some space for a new song instead of one we’d already had for so long), but it did hurt a lil. i was so happy she found a little way to include it :’) rip to hurts like hell tho since she didn’t get the same treatment sjdnksd.

the channel surfing is also just such a fun concept for an outro.

and her laughing with her producers at the end followed by such a sweet calming tropical instrumental...... oooo it’s so nice, it feels like the calm after the storm.

overall, this album was just SO worth the wait, it’s so fantastic, it’s the loml, one of my favourite albums ever. i LOVE that it’s helped anyone with BPD feel seen and understood, and as someone who doesn’t have bpd but has a couple of loved ones who do, the emotions she expressed in these lyrics have helped me to understand this disorder more too. just such a special album.

most of the criticism i’ve seen of the album has been that it’s overproduced, and that’s definitely criticism that i understand, bc it IS heavy on the technical side and some people just don’t like very heavy production, buuuut... some people do! i do! madison does! and heavy production does not automatically make an album bad. this type of production isn’t something that i expect her to move away from, because it’s clearly her thing, and maybe that just means her place in the industry will be more with the heavy heavy pop fans and maybe even in more hyperpop circles. i also think it’s SUPPOSED to be overproduced; it’s supposed to be a mess of emotions and sometimes a little chaotic. she executed it very well.

i hope by the time her next album is out, people will stop comparing her to like every single artist out there. some reviewers seem determined to pigeonhole her and compare her to every female artist under the sun, which feels like an absolute disservice to me. she is influenced by many different people and they comes out in her music, as it does any artist’s because everybody has their inspirations, but her sound is VERY much her own. as someone who has liked her for years, i can absolutely feel her essence in each song and nobody else’s.

a 10/10 album and such an amazing, promising debut<3

He would pick an island in the northern hemisphere and he wouldn’t even strategize tbh like he’s just excited

He would name it like “Dog Land” or “Akamaruville” or some shit like that

He’s the type to read all the things the characters say out loud. Will also 10/10 respond to them.

Anyway, his house is literally what a 12 year old boys house would look like. Like there’s clutter everywhere the only clear path is the one to his bed

He’s got a Southern Hemisphere island and he strategically picks his island in a way that he’ll (in real life terms) be able to have access to bugs... but it’s a game, no point in explaining it to him tbh

Like he only strategizes on the game for bugs. Probably talks to himself whenever bugs are involved in it

He doesn’t read the captions out loud, he’ll read them in his head like normal person

Names his Island after a bug species or “Bug Landia”, “Bikochu Island” <- as tribute to those filler episodes lmfao

Also hates Tom Nook, Kiba and him will put their rivalry aside sometimes just so they could gang up on him

One day Sai made eye contact with him for like 2 seconds Chojis dragging him over to his Switch like “oh hey Sai! I seen you looking at me and I figured you must be wondering what I was doing. So I’ll save you the time and just show you instead.” Sais just there like: wtf?

He’s neutral on the capitalist pig that is Tom Nook, Infact, he thinks he’s kind of nice. Poor Choji, so naive.

His island is in the Northern Hemisphere and he doesn’t really strategize it too much bc he doesn’t take the game as seriously as the rest of them like they’re really out here with survival tactics? My G..

Like he doesn’t take it as seriously as Neji and Lee, but he still is doing better than all of them in the game

So he buys it secretly and he is obsessed, he will deny he plays it if anyone asks though

He wants his islands name to be something thought out, like it takes him 5 days just to name his island.. Only for him to settle on some shit like “Leaf Island” he wanted to name it Byakugan Land but his pride wouldn’t let him

Definitely respects Tom Nook. Like Rock Lee and him both treat the game like a survival tactic so he respects Tom Nook as a superior, even if he has some greed problems. He’s still a superior and he must be adressed with respect >:0

Will get worked up when he overhears Shino and Kiba trash talking Nook and it takes every bone in his body not to knock them out, but he doesn’t want them to know he plays so he refrains

I’m not gonna lie he tries to use his Byakugan when he’s fishing in animal crossing so he can see what type of fish it is through the water and it pisses him the fuck off when it doesn’t work

Like he’s just playing Animal Crossing at like 3 am and you hear him whisper shout “Byakugan!” And then he punches the air bc it doesn’t work
