idk why i’m so weird about my main blog it’s not like i’m too secretive about it since it’s in my intro (not the pinned) post if people decide to look through it (which i don’t really 100% expect from everyone so i get it if people aren’t aware) but it just looks like i’m hiding it for no reason 😭

because i'm predictable, what're bobby and chloe up to in the villain au? or how's the dynamic between sam and dogen since he's taken psychoisolation to the extreme?

Bobby's in a pretty similar position to the regular timeline - at least, at first glance. he's overworked and underpaid, constantly crunching to try and keep on top of the ever-growing mountain of paperwork his superiors keep handing down to him.

but i think the trajectory of his character looks pretty different? he never really met Raz at Whispering Rock. he never got humbled by him, never had to suffer the embarrassment of his spot as top dog being yanked away by some new kid... but he also never really got to go through a lot of the character growth from their ensuing rivalry? he's definitely mellower than he was as a kid, but he's got a lot of unresolved issues bubbling under the surface - anger problems, poor self-esteem, a tendency to lash out at authority figures...

he still really believes in the work he's doing, and wants the Psychonauts to be the force for good he knows they can be. but he's carrying a growing burden of stress and exhaustion, stuck in a toxic work environment that's more likely to change him (or just make him snap) than he is to change it.

his only real friend at the Motherlobe is Chloe. Chloe is... well! again, first-glance, not that much has changed. she works the same job in the Motherlobe's engineering and aerospace department, and she still gets to pursue her childhood fascination with space.

but the harsher work culture and the more pragmatic, efficient environment have exacerbated some of her less personable traits. she's blunt, rude, and almost fanatically devoted to her work, to the exception of basically everything else. her workplace safety standards are lax, and her ethics laxer. she'd sell the Psychonauts out for one corn chip if she thought it'd get her better funding for her pet projects

Six doesn't say anything, just follows Eight past a gaggle of aides and couriers, flipping the vape over in his fingers.

One of the aides hands Eight a fan. "Worst thing to happen to this Foundation in twenty years," Eight continues irritably as he takes it. "And you're setting an abysmal example. You're why so many staff think this is just fine, you know!" He points accusingly at Six. "Hazardous particulate in sites up obscene proportions, Six, and whose problem is it? Mine! Three and Twelve taking out my brain about it! Everyone thinks they can do anything they want. Four vapes now!"

"Four smokes," Six points out, and takes another drag.

"Four smokes exclusively socially."

"He does everythin' exclusively socially." Six exhales more fog, annoyance leaching into his voice.

"Not that you'd know anything about prosocial behavior, anyhow--" huffs Eight, cutting off to cough and fan again. "Not a single agent has an ounce of respect for what goes on on the dancefloor. Fuck you."

Shit, and tell me all about how social you are, Six thinks but doesn't say. Eight'll live; the water might not be able to cure his lungs, but it'll keep them from worsening for another three hundred years. "Y'wanna talk about what I came here to discuss, or are ya gonna tell me more about your damn emails?"

Pakistan is in the process of deporting 1.7 million Afghan refugees.

At least 60% of them are children born and raised in Pakistan, as Afghans have been seeking refuge within their southern neighbour's borders since the 1970s. Harrassment by Pakistani law enforcement has increased to unprecedented levels as they have started raiding refugee camps. People are held at newly constructed detention centers without transparency or access to legal representation.

Afghans are now being forced to return to a country ruled by a group that doesn't grant women equal rights and is aiming to establish a gender-apartheid state. Ethnic and religious minorities continue to suffer state-sanctioned violence. Among these refugees, journalists, former government employees and ISAF collaborators will all have to fear for their lives upon return.

Additionally, Afghanistan is facing a humanitarian crisis. Higher grain prices, an on-going draught and continued international sanctions are currently putting 20 million people at risk of a famine. Just recently, several magnitude 6 earthquakes killed over 3,000 and injured over 10,000 in the Western province Herat.
